"Are you going to knock then?" Elosqir asked patiently, moving out of the way to make it possible.

Alicia squeezed Allen's hand, and her smile became sad.
"You'll have that some day soon," she told him softly. "And remember...whatever you want to buy you can have anyway...how about an Earldom?"

"I didn't think it was very important at all." Connor said, taking another drink."At least, that was the impression I got last night." he elaborated. "There's no revision we should be doing or anything like that, is there?" came the inquiry. Personal experience had shown Connor the closer to an exam he revised something, the better he remembered it. He was not methodical in that way like many of his peers had been, yet his relative indifference to examination made him calm and collected when it came to putting pen to paper, and he always managed to do well enough.

"It's not really binding at all," Maria said, taking a drink of her coffee. "It just hands you a bunch of recommendations about what you should do. You're free to pick lessons you'll fail at if you want."

"The people can say how I handed you a third of Celeria if I could make it happen," Maria said sincerely. "I couldn't really care less what they say about me, I care far more about you than my political possibilities."

Mewan nodded taking a deep breath and knocking three times...no answer, Mewan gently pushed open the door which strangely was unlocked to reveal an empty room though the shower could be heard in the bathroom. "Oh looks like he's out what a shame, let's go!", Mewan exclaimed with the noise from the shower very noticeable.

It was good news that this exam was literally meaningless. Recommendations were just the sort of thing that Connor loved to disregard. 'Don't go to Celeria', they had said. 'Why don't you take this lesson?', they had asked. And looking at himself now, he appeared to be in a pretty good position, as far as he could see it. And that wasn't to say he would totally disregard any recommendations - but merely take them on board and make the same decision he was always going to make anyway.

"So, 4 hours worth of examinations that hands you a recommendation that you're not even obligated to take into account... which genius came up with that idea?"

Petra fastened her seatbelt too. "Was it difficult for you?" She asked. "Because I speak Russian and Spanish, as well as my native language and English, and they were all really hard. Spanish wasn't as bad as the rest but it was still difficult."

"The genius was the same guy who set up the exchange student program," Maria said, smiling. "Miro Derali...the head teacher. It always tells me the same thing anyway.
Obviously no one actually stays in for the entire 4 hours, because it's just quickfire questions. I stay in for 10 minutes because I've probably read the answer somewhere, so I know it." She yauned, putting her arm on Connor's shoulder.
"Nice armrest," she commented.

"Where I come from, you can't leave an exam before it's over." explained Connor. "Stupid, isn't it? If I finish an exam paper half an hour before it finishes what's the point of keeping me in a room doing nothing?"

"Oh, let me check." Connor replied, retrieving his phone from his pocket. One new text. "Hey Connor. I guess you were telling the truth. I don't know what to say, so I won't say anything on the matter. Except thanks." he said, reading aloud from his phone.

"I think if I were in her position I'd be way too shocked or surprised to say that much." Connor countered, defending his mother. "I'm sure that she'll come to her proper senses eventually, but like I said, if I just found out that my kid was engaged in subversive behaviour..." he carried on, mockingly drawing out subversive and placing quote marks in the air with his fingers, "and the fact I was a millionaire I'd probably think I was high as fuck or in some damn odd dream state. I know her, she isn't a bitch or anything."

He looked out the window again, the skyscrapers of the city coming into full view down below. "We're nearly there."
