In the current conflict in the Middle East, neither side has any moral high ground nor the right to claim any and least of all anyone from a third-party the capability or the right to claim it for them.

The problem is, that at some point, there were chances for peace, plans established and more or less accepted by both sides, mediated by third parties. Both sides, both Israel and the (at the time) leading organization of the Palestinians, the PLO, agreed to these plans. You might be a bit too young to remember Jitzchak Rabin and Jassir Arafat, but there is a reason why they got the Nobel Peace Price, long before it turned to the joke it is today - that it is. They established a plan to reach peace in their region.
And we all know, that in the moment, in which the conflict down there is calmed and solved, that then the region will not be completely at peace, but considerably calmer.
What did the following governments on both sides do? They wiped their rear ends with the agreements.
Neither side has any moral high ground to claim, simply due this: This conflict could have been solved ages ago, if some people simply continued the long and hard path of peace between two bitter enemies.

And at that point, we aren't even near the warcrimes both sides are accussed of committing.
