You know, probably one of the greatest joys of my life has always been getting along with people who disagree with me. At least half of my friends probably wouldn't agree with more than half of my ideas and opinions when it comes to society, religion, philosophy, and politics, but we still get along just fine.

I feel this is something of a lost art in much of the world these days. The prevailing view seems to be that if somebody disagrees with you, on so much as one little thing, you have to hate them with intense, burning passion, and you have to hate every aspect of them as a person, not acknowledging any decency or redeeming factors.
