Alexandra de Hollande, the Duchess of Mouscron & Connaught was greeted with cheers as she was announced as the winner of the nationwide premiership election, beating her opponent, the Duke of Alencon, who, though remaining Regent (at least for a few more days) marking a shocking victory for the Ultras.

Winning a somewhat narrow, and not particularly helpful majority of the votes, the Ultras took home 49.7% of the vote, while the Duke of Alencon’s own Doctorines took only 46.4% while the ever rudderless Liberals only 2.7%. Credited as part of the ‘Royal blue wave’ speaking of the colors of the Ultras and the social backlash to the seemingly outsized voice of liberal Aukusa City and the far reaching social projects by the more traditional mainlanders.

To add insult to injury, the Duke, as regent, had to be the very person to invite his victorious opponent to form a government and take up the role. With this, the Double Duchess becomes the first woman to hold the position of Prime Minister of the Celestial Empire. She has already wrestled control of the Emperor’s planned coronation. Meanwhile it seems that Alencon’s younger sons, once masters of the nation, have all apparently fled to Colfico to the court of their niece, Queen Adriana.

The Duchess of Mouscron & Connaught has promised to return the Celestial to the power and glory as it so rightfully deserves as seen under the magnificent reign of Gitte II in a new golden age.

Breaking News in Zydos!

Just today, April 2, 2135, the Royal family of Zentinia, Royal Family of Yurikipo, and the whole Government of Ororor, were hit in a series of 3 terrorist suicide bombs. While Prince Raymond and Lord Fu survived the bombing, Raymond died of shock minutes later and Lord Fu of too much smoke inhalation an hour later.

Now with 2 of the 3 Royal families of Zydos and a whole nation’s government dead from terrorists, now located as being from the eastern city-states. Grand Duke Jerem of Sutland, President Juan Rovio of Domino, and Max Wright are writing a new constitution for Zydos, due to the old one’s charter being broken. It is clear Jerem will be monarch of this new government and it will be centralized.

But today, we pray for the nations affected by this horrid event. Jerem and Juan are being very protected right now, and air defense systems are up to prevent a 4th or even 5th bombing. Jerem stated, “I know this is a hard time right now, but we must stick together. Always be by each other’s side.”

It also looks like in whatever happens next, Longwood won’t be in it. He is stepping down in the new government, so it looks like it will be a battle between the 3 young major party leaders, Seth Schuyler, Juan Rovio, and John Hamill.

Princess Regent Tasa gives birth to a son!

Just nine months after the Princess Regent, mother to the toddler Queen Vaella, to the young dashing soldier-prince, Philip of Great Hyruke, she welcomed into the world her second child and first son by her new husband. Born at 8:43 am, after nearly seven hours of labor, the Princess Regent having been awoken in the middle of the night, the birth took place under dramatically different conditions than that of her first child, the Queen.

Where with Vaella’s birth, posthumously as it was with Crown Prince Davios having died months before, had seen Princess Tasa all but imprisoned and isolated at the hands of her mother-in-law the cold Queen Dowager Mereya, and only to have her daughter swiftly taken from her, this one was a far different story.

The Princess Regent, monarch in all but name, was attended by several Caraintese, Lajastinean and Hyrukian ladies, medical doctors and, breaking long held traditions, her young eighteen year old husband, who held her hand the entire time. Her in-laws, the King and Queen of Great Hyruke, as they had been for the birth of their other grandsons, arrived in Caraintos to witness the birth. And as morning broke, the Princess Regent was successfully delivered of a baby boy.

With the birth of a child, thus many questions had to be raised and answered. Firstly that of a name. After much deliberation between mother, father and grandfather, it was agreed to be Lysander Philip Angemar Caister. Next came the issue of house, rank and titles. As the Princess Regent cradled her son in her arms, she and the King of Great Hyruke negotiated over the requirements of her marriage contract.

As per the agreement that had allowed the young lovers to wed, having provided Tasa a child, Philip was granted the Duchy and Principality of Terantos, with an income of 1,140,000 pounds a year, a somewhat monstrous sum that some nore easily makes Philip the wealthiest of the King of Great Hyruke’s sons. He was also given the palatial Villa di Teranto. His son, as the first scion of this Terantino branch of the House of Caister, and prevented from taking the title prince of Great Hyruke as male line descent of the King, as opposed to their preferred matrilineal succession, and similarly for Tasa’s titles of the Safar dynasty for much the same, if reversed, Lysander was thus held as Lysander of Terantos.

Granted by letters patent, signed by the Princess Regent and sealed by the toddler Queen Vaella’s rough handwriting, all legitimate children of Prince Philip are entitled as His/HerHighness, as prince/ss of Terantos. Thus, the world, in a span of three hours, welcomed Prince Lysander of Terantos, half-brother of the Queen of Caraintos, nephew of the Prince Royal of Great Hyruke and Crown Princess of Colfico, and offspring of two long lines of royalty, the Safars and the Caisters. Lastly came the matter of succession.

With Queen Vaella being the last living Cressey, the Royal House that has ruled Caraintos since its inception, and with previous young Cresseys having died thanks to centuries of cousin marriages, though thanks to the dying off so many, Vaella is far healthier and genetically diverse than her forebears, till the Queen is an adult, married and with child, the line remains murky and short. It is acknowledged that the closet, and last living persons with Cressey blood are Leana Nayland and her brother Jayse Nayland, though with the spinster sister in her forties, the brother in the back end of his thirties and still a rakish bachelor, it seems unlikely that they shall produce heirs.

With this grim future of the Royal family in mind, it was suggested by the King of Great Hyruke that should, heaven forbid, the Queen die young or childless, and the Nayland’s indeed produce no heirs of their own, that the Caraintese raise the Queen’s half-brother, a healthy legitimate prince, to the throne. In another time this would have been met with outrage, the mere suggestion a scandal. However with reality knocking on the door, the Princess Regent and the Council of State, after much debating came to the conclusion, for the sake of the monarchy, Prince Lysander’s name, though fourth, was added to the line of succession by the Act of Succession.

This in the span of thirteen hours the baby boy has risen high. Afterwards, Prince Lysander was brought to his older half sister, the two and a half year old Queen Vaella, who after a moments hesitation smiled and kissed the babe’s forehead, giggling afterwards. This has been taken as a good sign, one for a new bright future for the Royal Family.

Emperor orders the filling of Lake Cereweto

The Emperor is ordering the full scale filling of the Emperor Andeja III Hydroelectric Dam, and ordering the being of construction of the two other Saizon River dams.

The Emperor Andeja III Hydroelectric Dam (previously the Cereweto Dam) is the flagship project of the late emperor’s modernization program, and was completed and opened only a few days before Andeja III’s death.

Since then it had been on hold for nineteen months for filling the reservoir due to concerns over the effects that it would have on residence of the Saizon Valley downstream in Colfico, due to Colfico’s lagging behind on their end of the deal due to the extraordinarily dangerous environment of the region thanks vast quantities of land mines grinding infrastructure projects to a halt.

However, the Emperor and the Prime Minister, against the advise of the Duke of Alencon and members of the Aukusa Bay Area Executive Council believe that the projects, set to free the Celestial Empire from fossil fuel usage and create a net positive on electrical output, as well as providing jobs for thousands of refugees in the emerging city of Oran, must continue.

Thus the Emperor Andeja III Hydroelectric Dam has closed its gates and begun filling the artificial Lake Cereweto, a process that is expected to take 3 to 6 years depending on the hydrologic conditions.

The result is a predicted extreme shrinkage and drying up of the Saizon River, which could lose as much as 80% of its water source.

Failed Attempt on Celestial Envoy’s Life in Capital!

Patuanian soldiers prevented the assassination of Baron Cebo Yoyo and his wife Lady Adela Yoyo as they were preparing to leave the capital today in a rush of events. Baron Yoyo, appointed as the official envoy on a diplomatic mission to Patuania almost two years ago by the late Emperor Andeja III was recently recalled by the current Celestial Emperor, though a replacement has not been named. Rumors are abound of both the closeness of Baron Yoyo’s son, Lord Jean Yoyo to Paras Kanatus, as well as the southerner diplomat’s dislike of Patuania. Sources say that it was for these reasons that the diplomat was recalled.

However, as Baron and Lady Yoyo left the Celestial Emperor’s consulate and made their way to leave the capital via train, an as of yet unknown assailant fired two shots at the Yoyos, sparking a panic in the crown. As the crowd surged, the assailant got away, but thankfully the soldiers from Prince Voarok’s Regiment happened to be nearby and were able to save Baron Yoyo’s life, protecting him and his wife’s life from the shooter. The Yoyos were hurried out of the train state and where placed en route to return to the Consulate when a bomb went off in the envoy’s empty office.

With this present danger deemed extremely high as it mark at least two attacks, possibly coordinated attacks on Baron Yoyo’s life. As such the soldiers quickly escorted them to the most secure place in The capital, the fortified Parasijava Palace on the orders of a concerned Paras Kanatus. As they were placed into protective custody, the Paras released a statement expressing his horror at this outrageous and barbaric attack on “the good Baron Yoyo and his family” and assured the international community that he shall keep the Yoyos safe until “these evil-doers are found and punished severely.”

Wedding of Marijani d’Aurelains and Emperor Minixus of Nemidia

The day after the coronation ceremony of Emperor Andeja IV, another grand spectacle took place at the Ijuru Ingoro Palace, the groundbreaking marriage of the Celestial Emperor’s mother, Marijani d’Aurelains (42) to Minixus, Emperor of Nemidia (43). The pair met amidst Marijani’s campaign of mourning, in which she lead her late husband, Andeja III’s army across the continent, into Imarati, Patuania, Colfico and Seoya, waging war and negotiating peace in equal measure.

Both mature and experienced in leadership roles, a so called ‘fairytale for adults’ was startled as the Nemidia monarch provided a haven for Marijani and many of her soldiers— created a small but notable Deritain migrant community in the city of Caraxia. While it is unknown when the two truly began courting one another, they were certainly doing so following the belated funeral of Andeja III, when barely a week later they, along with the Celestial Emperor and Princess Imperial embarked on a voyage to Genes together.

Their idyllic voyage, in true Marijani fashion, was haunted by the Independence movement of Garandy, in which Marijani and Minixus both had great hands in smoothing over. It was following the independence of Garandy that at a ball hosted by Nyantsa Lota, that Minixus, once known as the Imperial Bachelor, proposed to Marijani with a breathtaking tanzanite engagement ring, to which she accepted.

With the blessing of her son, the Celestial Emperor, thus for the first time would a mother empress remarry, to a foreign emperor. The Celestial Emperor indeed walked his mother down the aisle in the palace to the altar. The wedding, while not as grand as the proceeding coronation, soared close to it, with trained doves and a live orchestra being apart of the spectacle. It was Marijani’s dress, a chic tailored design by Danzi Cussata, with flowing empire skirts and a gold plated bodice like armor that caught everyone’s attention. Marijani and Minixus have been seen as a symbiotic pair, light and dark, peace and war, a view that seems to be the basis of their romance and their partnership.

The applause of the gathered audience of tens of thousands, including the Imperial Family, the Aurelains, such as Marijani’s older sister, Elisabeth, the Duchess of Manchester, and numerous representatives from other members of the League of Armed Neutrality was positively thunderous as the couple kissed as a married couple for the first time.

However it should be noted, as the night’s celebrations followed and Marijani and Minixus were left to private apartments to consummate their marriage, this marked the end of Marijani’s tenure as the official Mother Empress, with some of her previous privileges being revoked, including her position as First Lady of the Celestial Court, a role filled now instead by Princess Mamela, as the next highest ranking adult woman of the Imperial Family.

Despite this, the Celestial Emperor has set a dowry for his mother, an uncommon custom in the Celestial Empire, setting aside a large fortune for her should she find herself an empress twice widowed. Along with this she has been given new court ladies to attend to her in her new home at Nemidia, Ayshia Kito and Subira Ujmara. And with a imperial marriage connecting them, the Celestial Emperor has appointed Lord Jama Ardales (brother-in-law of the Duchess of Manchester) to serve as the first Ambassador to Nemidia.

As Empress Marijani, mother of the Celestial Emperor and wife of Emperor Minixus of Nemidia settles into her new life in Nemidia, she has been followed by a flock of her admirers and adventures, joining the growing Deritain diaspora community in Caraxia- similarly in the mind set of such to the community in Hyrea. Royals Life naturally has made sure to keep tabs on everything. Amongst those arriving in Caraxia is Lord Laurent Rohan and his newlywed bride, Lady Ava Yoyo, eldest daughter of Baron Cebo Yoyo and Lady Adela Ardales.

While it is suspected that Lady Ava arrived in hopes of leveraging the close friendship between her family and the Empress, in helping in the ongoing situation between the Celestial Empire and Patuania, one can only speculate. What is known is that the artistic talents of Lord Laurent, himself a former favorite of Queen Adriana of Colfico whose portrait he famously created years ago, caught the attention of Empress Marijani. The Empress of Nemidia reportedly sat for thirteen hours as Lord Laurent crafted a new portrait of her, on reflecting her new tenure.

In the portrait, Empress Marijani shines in a reversal of the colors she popularly wore in the Celestial Empire, black and gold, for instead, gold and black, with her dress decorated with black versions of the Aurelain Star, the heraldic symbol of her dynasty, embroidered into the bodice of the empire-style dress. She wears a tulle fascinator in pair with a gold tiara with cut pieces of tanzanite set in platinum, mineral symbols of the House of Kaenid, with matching earrings, creating her signature silhouette.

Queen Louise announced the official entry of the Most Serene Kingdom into the League of Armed Neutrality. The league, which has grown rapidly since its formation last year has proven a suitable alternate option for those who wish to avoid the likes of the Grand Alliance or the Borean League. Key to its existence has been the economic opportunities for diverse markets and collaboration in fighting the widespread pirate attacks along numerous maritime trade routes. With joining, the Genoise air of neutrality, held since the collapse of their alliance with the Colficoans is reaffirmed, while working to aid Queen Louise's economic policies as we near the end of the first of her five-year plans.

With the entry are two other important announcements, the first being the Etendu Port Project, a massive expansion of the port of Genes, aided by the largest land reclamation project in Genes in the 22nd Century. The Etendu Port shall expand on Cathedral Harbor in the capital, able to berth more ships as well as larger ships. The project, estimated to cost over a billion derrals, with already received significant investments from Nemidia and the Royal Family. Speaking of the Royal Family, there lays the second announcement, the engagement of Princess Natalie of Genes (the Queen's second eldest granddaughter) to Crown Prince Xarabar of Leriya, only child and heir of the King of Leriya. With the engagement comesca treaty of mutual friendship between the two nations.

Pro-Democracy Protestors Take to the Streets!

Thousands of Garandaians marched down Harbor Avenue, camping outside the gates of the Presidential Palace, the center of governance and official residence of President Sedera Oumouri. This scene played out across the island today at other locations, post offices, magistrate courts and port authority centers. On a scale never before seen in Garandy, protestors called for an end to President Oumouri’s autocratic regime, and for free and fair elections to be held.

President Oumouri, known internationally for being the revolutionary leader who lead the charge for Garandaian Independence, had come under criticism for his suspension of elections and other key democratic elements of the government back in April, since then he has ruled effectively as an autocrat, refusing to appoint any ministers aside from his second in command, Raozy Laingo. In doing so, he has de facto assumed the powers and authorities of those infilled positions, which many seem to believe us too much in the hands of one man.

So far President Oumouri has remained relatively silent, and has refused to leave the safety of the walls of the Presidential Palace. Some suspect that the President many be considering whether to give into the protestors’ demands, or, as more guards try to control the mobs to prevent a total shut down of the capital, if he shall see the protestors, lead by civil liberties advocate Andry Raharison, dispersed by force.

President Oumouri opens fires on Dissenters!

Blood soaks the steps of the Presidential Palace after the death of thirty five people as Presidential Guards opened fire on the crowd of thousands of pro-democracy protestors following a refusal to return to their homes. The situation, sparked by the autocratic tendencies of President Oumouri who banned elections and refused to appoint executive branch ministers, has been building up for two days mows d have finally reached a boiling point.

At 9:00 in the evening, an order was announced to have been signed off by President Oumouri demanding that all protesters return to their homes within the hour or face the consequences for unlawful dissent. While some did so, many refused to leave, and continuing their chanting, calling for free and fair elections in Garandy. The entire however was holding its breath for when the hour struck 10:00. And when it did, chaos unfolded.

The Presidential Guard suddenly opened fire on the dissenters, killing over three dozen people and injuring a hundred more. With President Oumouri in control of the executive branch, he abolished the courts, enacted capital punishment and made dissent of any kind against the government illegal with his latest executive order, ordering in the Army, as he is also Supreme Commander, into the city in order to enforce it.

Chaos has swept the city as the military pushes out from it garrison and from around the Presidential Palace, ordering citizens into their homes, or shooting them on sight. Some neighborhoods have begun raising barricades in their narrow roads in open of preventing the arrival of rioters or soldiers or both. The Garandaian Guardian headquarters had done so, as the President ordered the immediate seizure of all media outlets.

Raharison, the effective leader of the protest is said to have been shot, but while injured remains alive. He has been dubbed Public Enemy number one by President Oumouri, playing a bounty on Raharison’s head for 1 million dollars, much to the excitement of the many mercenaries and bounty hunters that call Garandy home. The night however is young, and while it is not known how things may play out, the worse is feared, and liked yet to come.

President Sedera Oumouri addressed the nation from the balcony of the Presidential Palace as the sun rose over the capital city as the Presidential Guard enforced martial law. Following a night of rebellion by a mob of dissenters, the President was able to crush it, seeing the execution of of sixty-four rebels. The Army was able to break through the barricades set up by enemies of the state and secure the Garandaian Guardian Headquarters.

While the public enemy Andry Raharison has not yet been taken into custody, the rest of his cowardly troublemakers were secured and returned to their homes. With the city once more under control, the gates to the Presidential Palace opened after being secured against rioters three days before. President Sedera Oumouri took to the palatial balcony with assembled news media outlet representatives to address the nation.

“My fellow countrymen, in the Grand arc of our nations’ history, this shall be known as the day that our enemies attempted to strangle us in the cradle, and the day that we fought back! This rebellion was born out of weakness, out of fear and selfish rot! We must stand together in order to keep our nation strong and independent. We must trust in our dutiful armed forces to protect and secure our sociey!”

Nemidian Imperial Self Defence Force Humanitarian Force Deployed to Garandy In Historic First

The story of the situation in Garandy has, once again, been all over the news, wherever you go you can see stories of the violence. However, it would seem that the situation is not being ignore, as, in a surprise move, emperor Minixus announced the deployment of a humanitarian peacekeeping force, spearheaded by the Nemidian Imperial Self Defence Force. This task force, including over 6,000 personnel’s, both military and civilian, over 600 vehicles, twelve ships, and dozens of aircraft. It was mere hours after this announcement that the first aircraft began touching down in Garandy, deploying the 2nd Airborne Battalion, as well as a detachment of medical personnel, combat engineers and other support personnel.

Most notable is the deployment of the NIMDF-Mariani, the current lead ship of the Type-01A Class Cruisers, to this task force, meaning that one of the most advanced warships in the fleet will be providing its services to the task force over the course of its deployment. However, these ships will still take some time to reach Garandy, and only god knows how things will unfold from here.

30,000 Soldiers arrive on the Andejanes Archipelago

The Andejanes Archipelago, almost two years after it was first settled by the Celestial Empire, a new force arrived on the island. With orders coming directly from the halls of the Ijuru Ingoro Palace, 30,000 soldiers arrived, armed and prepared for a fight. This force, the largest fielded by the Celestial Empire in decades forms the Celestial First Corps, lead Lieutenant General Luyolo Ngonyama.

Ngonyama, 40, is a unusual choice to lead the C1st Corps, a commoner and exceedingly young fir a man to reach such a high rank, reports state that he was handpicked by the young Celestial Emperor himself. Another notable appointments of the mission are Major Generals Jahan Hani and Cebo Joyi as well as Colonel Alexis Rohan, along with Admiral Jama Makwetu. Ngonyama however thus far proves to be the face of this expedition.

Along with the C1st Corps, Admiral Makewtu leads a fleet of fourteen warships of frigates, corvettes and destroyers, along with a hospital ship. In tow there are also a dozen or so transport ships. This fleet again outshines that of the Celestial Emperor’s father’s expedition to Imarati back in 2133. The Admiral, another relatively young and previously unknown commoner hand selected to lead by the Celestial Emperor.

The question of course comes to the simple thing of what is their mission. On that the Emperor has been silent, and the Inama only slightly less so. The prime minister, the Duchess of Mouscron has simply stated that it is “a mission of Imperial authority.” Outside observers however have begun making theories, suspecting the mission is to assert authority on the Straits between Nemidia and Seoya, or to combat pirates, or perhaps to prepare for a new invasion into the Northern Sea.

Christmas Day was celebrated in a particularly personal way yesterday as at around 10:30 in the morning, Hereditary Princess Alice (23), the beloved wife of Hereditary Prince Ragnar (31) went into labor. The couple’s personal doctor was sent for and the princes was taken to her chambers to give a home birth. After several hours of labor, the Princess was successfully delivered of a beautiful baby boy, his name since released as that of Prince Valdemar Christopher of Gostaborg.

His first name meaning “power” and his middle name being in honor of Princess Alice’s older brother, the Earl of Carrick, the new prince is the couple’s second child and second son. Princ Valdemar now sits third in line to the Grand Ducal, currently held by his grandfather Sakarias (49), behind his father and his older brother Prince Sakarias(2). With this the Vasta Family has its proverbial heir and spare.

Princess Alara gives birth to a Daughter

Once again the King of Great Hyruke has welcomed the arrival of another grandchild, a second granddaughter as his daughter-in-law the Duchess of Rossendale gave birth to her second daughter and third child. The as with her older brother, the baby girl, was determined it seems to arrive at its own time, coming three weeks later than expected, and is a large baby of 10 pounds.

Wattingham Palace has announced that the child has been named Alara Aurelia Louise Anne, for her mother, Alara of Derita. As per tradition just hours after the child was born, King Arthur issued letters patent making her Her Royal Highness, Princess Alara of Rossendale, the same HRH and princely styling of her older siblings as children to the heir presumptive to the throne. .

Princess Alara, despite being over two years younger than her older brother Prince Arthur, as she is a girl in the matrilineal succession, has jumped ahead of him, becoming third-in-line, while Prince Arthur is pushed down to the fourth. She sits behind her older sister Princess Caroline and her father, the Prince Royal.

King Alexis and Queen Oruk announce name of Princess!

Over two years after the infamous Black Wedding, it appears that time and familiarity has done what the Paras of Patuania could not accomplish. The King and Queen of Imarati, a somber pair of one ever saw one, have announced the birth of their their first child, one month after she was welcomed into the world. The royal couple expressed the wish for privacy for the first few weeks of their new family.

The new addition to the Imaratian royal family has now, following her christening, been announced as Princess Darya of Imarati. The Princess, born February 8, was given a more traditional Imaratian name as a symbol of a new era of the nation, and likely to appeal to the people from the foreign born king and queen. The Princess takes the title of heiress presumptive from her aunt, Princess Christine.

Queen Mary suffers Stroke!

Grime news from the gates of Wattingham Palace today as reports state that Queen Mary, the 48-year-old wife of King Arthur, collapsed this morning while leaving breakfast with her husband and eldest sons, Prince Royal and Prince Louis, along with their wives, the Duchess of Rossendale and Princess Mary. The Queen's husband and sons quickly rushed to her aid, but Her Majesty had fallen unconscious. The Queen was then rushed to her chambers in the palace by medical aids and doctors brought in. Since then the Queen appears to have fallen into a coma. The Royal Family has taken vigil around the queen, with her youngest son, Prince Philip set to arrive in Londres in two days, leaving behind his heavily pregnant wife, Princess Regent Tasa. The elderly Princess Ariane, Dowager Duchess of Cambridge along with the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Alfred, the queen's mother, sister, and respectively arrived in the capital. Though the Queen has never been the most popular member of the royal family, some have gathered around the palace gates, praying for her recovery.

Princess Regent Tasa gives birth to a daughter!

Three year old Queen Vaella has a new half-sister as Princess Regent Tasa gave birth to her third child, and second daughter, Princess Mary of Terantos. The child, her second by her second husband, Prince Philip of Great Hyruke was born early this morning shortly before dawn at the Terantos ducal residence in central Caraintos.

Named Mary Victoria, she is named in honor of her grandmother, Queen Mary of Great Hyruke who earlier this month suffered from a a stroke and whom the Princess Regent asserts she has in her prayers. She is also named in honor of the victory and end of the Great Eastern War which was officially concluded between the Grand Alliance and the newly reestablished Republic of Hantuonia.

By the Royal Succession Act of 2135 Princess Mary is fourth in line to the throne.

Queen Mary dies at age 48!

It is with great sadness that we report the grime announcement of Wattingham Palace that, at 11:12 am, Queen Mary, wife of His Majesty the King died at the age of 48. Mary of Cambridge, daughter of Princess Arianne and Charles Dreyfus, 1st Duke of Cambridge, born 5 January 2088, married King Arthur at the age of just 18, on 11 February 2106, becoming the first ever queen consort of Great Hyruke. As Queen, Mary of Cambridgeserved dutifully as her husband's companion and mother of his heirs, producing three sons, the present heir presumptive, Charles, the Prince Royal (named after his maternal grandfather), the clever Prince Louis, and the dashing Prince Philip. Though never blessed with a daughter, the queen, in her thirty-year tenure, greatly prepared her children, shaping them into the figures they are today.

The zenith of the queen's service came in her many trips to the Celestial Empire, meeting with the late Emperor Andeja II, dictating the marriage of her eldest son to Princess Alara of Derita and the subsequent Celestial-Hyrukian Alliance. In the last years of her life, Mary of Cambridge was able to welcome to six grandchildren into the world, (from eldest to youngest) Caroline, Alexander, Arthur, Lysandros, Alara, and Mary. The eldest of these grandchildren, the Princess Caroline was at the queen's side along with her three sons and three daughters-in-law, including the Princess Marie, and the Princess Regent Tasa of Caraintos. With these formidable women, the legacy of the queen shall be held up with strong companions to help guide the future.

His Majesty the King was at his wife's side when she died. She suffered from a stroke in early April of this year, lapsing into a coma. Complications from a series of smaller strokes is stated to have caused her demise. His Majesty the King as declared a nationwide mourning period of ten days, while he and the court shall remain in mourning for the next years. The queen shall have a state funeral, scheduled for 11 June 2136.

In the Far East, a band of rebels defeated a dictatorship and recently have gotten to have their first elections, this new nation, The Republic of the Eastern States, has set up their government with a more left leaning government, but Centrist High Chancellor. This nation can either become great or fail, it will all depend on this first government.

The government seems to be focusing on improving the lives of its people, and are currently looking to get alliances from their abandoned corner of the world. They are hopeful that they may be able to get allies that can help them up from their previous regime.

Everyone in The Eastern States is very hopeful for a better future, and are very confident in their new government’s abilities. But for now, they’ll just have to see how this will play out.

King Vaekar dispatches Envoys to the Far East

Rhaenor Ceryun and Jae Hae Bulamai waved goodbye from Imeyeon as they set a course for the distant lands of the newly proclaimed Eastern States, a far flung state on the continent. Ceryun and Bulamai lead His Majesty’s Diplomatic Delegation to the Eastern States, with the aim of establishing relations between them and Mairantas.

The mission serves as a key representation of what is believed to be the model for the recently ascended King Vaekar, who took the through following the death of his father seven months ago and has yet to be crown, with him and his advisors wishing his reign to be one of diplomacy and trade.

Prime Minister Gaegar Taeyin, the career politician and son of the late Lucarys Taeyin, founder of Taeyin Coal Inc., still one of the largest energy providers despite recent pushes for more environmentally friendly production practices, has announced that more diplomatic missions have been slated to embark to the courts and capitals of many other nations in the coming weeks.

The Avengence sets Sail!

Crowds cheered along the docks of the port of Kuunarsuup as Paras Kanatus christened and launched the massive new naval vessel, the Avengence, the first ever super-dreadnaught of the relatively small Patuanian Navy. The Avengence based largely off Gosataborgianships, designs and policy of power projection, is a heavy capital ship, the largest to set sail on the Borean Sea, even larger than the Vasta, that great Gosataborgian scourge of pirates at 850 feet long. Its great size is not the only impressive aspect of the Avengence, for the vessel is a floating fortress, boasting four twin 17 in guns, eight twin 5.25 in dual-purpose guns, along with fifteen sextuple, atwin, eleven single 40 mm anti-aircraft guns. With bulkheads over a foot thick in some places, along with six inch armor over vital defensive positions, the vessel is said to be able to resist aerial launch bombardment.

"We must protect our people," said Paras Kanatus at the ceremony, "by all cost, and by any means, whether they be here at home, or far afield." It is believed that the Paras referred to the roughly 1.8 million ethnic Patuanians who live outside of the commonwealth, of which 1 million of which living in the border regions of Seoya. Patuania and Seoya, the two largest nations in the north of the continent have seen growing tensions rise between them, although from unspecified reasons. With the Paras' statement it may indeed be that of an ethno-national issue. There have even been rumors of military build of tens of thousands of soldiers along the border, estimated somewhere between 50,000 to as many as 100,000. Such a mobilization however is unprecedented and has not been officially announced.

Returning to the launch of the Avengence, the great ship sent waves crashing against the shore in sparkling white showers as it manuevered and its crew began operations, tests and prepared for send off. Paras Kanatus himself boarded the ship, where he was photographed with Baron Cebo Yoyo, the former envoy from the Celestial Empire , who, along with his wife Lady Adela Ardales were personal guests of the Paras over the last year. The Yoyos were greeted with much fanfare as the exotic foreign aristocrats were escorted by Patuanian soldiers, chivarlous in their uniforms, aboard. The Avengence as its first mission, shall escort Baron and Lady Yoyo, along with two cargo ships of general goods, to the Deritain colony of Port Hwanghu.

"Though weapons of war are necessary to protect ourselves," Paras Kanatus said when asked about how he had handled relations with the Celestial Empire, "diplomacy is our most vital shield. Let the record show, I have always been one to lead with the extension of the olive branch of peace."

King Vaekar and Paras Kanatus sign Friendship Treaty

King Vaekar and Paras Kanatus made history today as they came together in Naaka to sign a treaty of friendship between them and their respective nations. The two leaders, seen posing for photographs smiling and seeming to get on along quite well, worked together to draft a treaty shortly after meeting in the riverside town of Naaka in an enclave nestled between Patuania and Seoya.

The treaty, composed of eight articles that detail the new stance between the nations, promising the political neutrality of the Kingdom of Mairantas, serving as a neutral arbitrator in order to better serve to facilitate peace between Patuania and Seoya and in the wider region. It also secured the protection of that neutrality, calling upon defensive action should that neutrality be violated.

“I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished thus far today,” said Vaekar as he stood before the gathered press, “Today we proven that peace and diplomacy is always the answer, even when the rest of the world believes that all is lost, and all routes of nations must lead to violence and conflict. There is always a better way, through open and honest discourse, we have shown that we can create and preserve peace in our time.”

As part of the agreement, and as a branch of King Vaekar’s humanitarian aid efforts, has sent a mission of a platoon of peacekeepers and fifty medical and foods stuff volunteers under the command of Lieutenant Vaemond Caigara to the town of Aamiuk in order to help thousands of people left as victims of flooding disaster.

Empress Marijani gives birth to Twins!

Bells tolled and gunshots rang out as it was announced that Empress Marijani, mother of the Celestial Emperor and wife of Emperor Minixus, after going into labor yesterday evening, successfully gave birth to twin boys shortly before dawn this morning. The empress, 43, was reportedly with her husband and her eldest son, recently arrived in Nemidia from his stay in the Hemaka Islands in order to be with his mother, when her water broke.

The Empress took to her state room in the palace, where a team of Nemidian Imperial doctors and nurses tended on her. The Empress went into labor at around six o’clock in the afternoon. The resulting next twelve hours of labor appear to have been strenuous and critical on the Empress. There had previously, reported insider sources say, been concerns expressed by some in the Imperial circles over Marijani’s age.

Marijani d’Aurelains, daughter of Prince Jean of Aurelains, had given birth to two healthy children, Andeja IV and Princess Imperial Ziyanda with her late first husband, Andeja III, at 21 and 26 respectively. With fertility having been an issue with previous Volonte royals such as Gitte II and Andeja II, who had children but only after many years of marriage, some wondered if Marijani, whose sister has only one child, would be able to have any children with Minixus, having not had a third with her first husband when she was much younger.

These concerns were nullified when Marijani, only a few months after becoming Empress of Nemidia announced her pregnancy. However, though healthy, there is an inherent difficulty for many older mothers carrying children. With miscarriage or complications more likely to happen, aged to the dynastic duty of childbearing, though one considerably lighter in Nemidia, the empress has reportedly been hovered over by her team of medical professionals.

This lull in concern was interrupted as the Empress suffered difficulty in her labor and had to take anesthesia, a break in royal tradition, in order to assist in the birth. At 6:44 am, July 8, Marijani successfully delivered a baby boy into the world. There was a sense of rejoicing as the child was placed in Minixus’ arms. The little newborn was given the name of Prince Cyamus Isirius Kaenid. Then, to the surprise of many however, at 6:48 Marijani delivered a second baby boy into the world. When this newborn brother was handed to Andeja (who reportedly needed help in holding him correctly from his maternal grandfather, also present) he said “Is she going to have another? How many are in there?”

Jokes aside, this proved to be the end of the affair, though the second boy would have to wait some time before receiving a name as Marijani had to be awoken. When she did, she, after much thought and some familial debate, settled on Prince Calix John Kaenid, with the twins middle names honoring both grandfathers. The twin princes, fraternal twins, weighed in at 5.9 pounds for Cyamus and 5.1 for Calix, smaller than average but normal for twins. Empress Marijani meanwhile is still bedridden and in recovery, with doctors expected to moderate her for the next two weeks.

Duke of Aumale dies age 102!

The last of the Hollande Old Guard passed away last night as former prime minister, Admiral Henry de Hollande, 1st Duke of Aumale died at the age of 102 years 6 months and 3 days. The ninth child of Princess Aura of Gante and Napoleon LeCastle, his older siblings included Queen Christina of Genes, Empress Augusta of Riessany, Prime Minister Willem-Alexander de Hollande, Duke of Mouscron, and Empress Josephine of Narkovia. Amongst his nieces and nephews was the late Empress Anaressa of the Celestial Empire, second wife of Andeja I, and his grandniece is Empress Dowager Amalia de Hollande.

The Duke of Aumale however was an impressive figure in his own right, he served dutifully in the Imperial Navy for seventy years,serving in the 1st Spanish-Dutch War, the Regency War, and the Battle of Napfili. Capable and stoic, he was a man who commanded great respect. During the Great Collapse of the late 2090’s he protected the imperial waters from pirates and invasion. In 2105, in the early reign of Emperor Andeja I, he took up the mantle of the premiership following the death of his nephew, the 1st Duke of Angoulême. That same year his eldest granddaughter, Princess Emerta of Genes died, her death at a young age weighing heavily on him and throwing him into his work in politics.

A staunch conservative, he oversaw a golden age for the Ultra-Royalist Party, being the longest serving prime minister from that party to date. Throughout his term he was key in working with the emperor and creating the strong centralized authority that we still see today in the Celestial Empire’s governance. Though his strict policies and incorruptibility and inflexibility did see him lose the office in 2111. He however continued to serve as an advisor for Andeja I and his successor Andeja II until the later’s death.

In 2131, the Duke of Aumale was the only Hollande in the empire to escape the January Purge of Andeja III, which infamously saw the execution of the Duke of Mouscron and Lord Louis Hollande, nephew and grandnephew of the Duke, while others were imprisoned or fled into exile. The Duke remained, refusing to leave, but was ultimately spared by Andeja III. He was briefly involved in the Toxic Island Incident, before he retired from the navy and from politics.

The Duke is survived by his heir and only child and daughter, Charlotte Hollande, the new Duchess of Aumale, age 74, along with her surviving daughter, Lady Julissa Dreyfus, age 39, and his three great-granddaughters, Charlotte Dreyfus (former suitor the present Celestial Emperor) age 23, Philippa Dreyfus, age 19, and Georgiana Dreyfus, age 15. The Duke’s grandniece, and current prime minister, the Duchess of Mouscron is set to give the Admiral a state funeral later this month, stating that he ranks as one of the best naval commanders in Deritain history, alongside the famed Muhammad the White Fox.
