With great shock, tragedy has once again descended over the Celestial Empire, and here leaves us with the most melancholy duty of announcing the death of Andeja III, 9th Emperor of Derita, Sovereign of the Celestial Empire. So sudden and swift is the blow that many find it hard to comprehend the lose of such a Sovereign so young, being only 47 years old. The suddenness of the Emperor’s death is alarming in its cause by a heart attack, believed to have been caused by the stress of leading the military operation.

In the early morning of the day a bulletin was presented outside of the Imperial Chateau in Gaosa from the prime minister announcing the untimely demise of his nephew. Andeja III was struck with a heart attack whilst studying a military map of Imarati, planning out operations in the campaign to come. It is believed that the stress of the new conflict may have cause the heart attack. Still it is alarming considering the young age of the emperor, who reigned for a little less than three years on the throne, the shortest reign of any emperor in Deritain history, comparably only to that of Antoine and Kenyatta in the late 1890’s and beginning of the 20th century.

Not the least tragic aspect of the bereavement of the Imperial Family is that in sorrow, the throne now passes to the underaged new Emperor as Andeja IV. By law, the Emperor ascended the throne the moment his father died and assumed the powers, rights and privileges of the Obsidian Throne. However as Andeja IV is only 19, a regent must be selected to serve until his 21st birthday. Nonetheless the Prime Minister and Inama have both sworn oaths of allegiance to the Emperor, who remains in school at Ezikwizalo University. The prime minister, Prince Alexandre, Duke of Alençon has made it clear his willingness to serve as regent.

Emperor Andeja IV, age 19 is the only son and eldest child of Emperor Andeja III by his wife Marijani d’Aurelains. Born during the reign of his great-grandfather, Andeja I, raised with his younger sister, Ziyanda the Princess Imperial, and given a palatial education from within the walls of Tajiyagitte Palace. He became the the first student at Ezikwizalo University, where he is currently studying. Recently engaged to Princess Oruk of Patuania, he is the first unmarried and underage emperor in 230 years, since Azizi the Great ascended the throne in 1903.

With his ascension to the throne, there ceased to be a crown prince or heir apparent, with his younger sister, the 14 year old Princess Ziyanda becoming heir presumptive. For now Andeja IV’s reign shall begin in a period of mourning as been declared as the Celestial State Funeral of the late Emperor Andeja III is prepared. The new Mother Empress, said to have broken into tears when the news of her husband’s death and fallen into her sister’s arms, has been dispatched to retrieve the late Andeja III’s body. Though a controversial figure, the romance between Andeja III and his wife is one of genuine affection.

The people of the empire however are given a glimmer of hope as they hail Long Live the Emperor. However even this flickers as the question of the Regency looms over the empire.

Today marks a special day, and the beginning of a new era for the Commonwealth in exploration. At 7:00 AM, the shipyard at Ikiara was bustling with activity, both workers and visitors alike. The OVS-Frontier, former auxiliary tender, had finally finished her major refits and upgrades, to make her more suitable for her new life as a survey vessel. The ships launching ceremony drew a massive crowd, including multiple officials from the National Assembly, including Prime Minister Arjun Wes himself. However, the prime minister was no mere observer on this particular occasion. The prime minister took his place beside the shipyard master, and, with the blowing of a horn, smashed a wine bottle against her bow, and the ship slid down the rollers, into the water, gracefully coming to a stop almost exactly as had been planned. The Prime Minister then proceeded to give a speech, in honor of the ships new life.

Princess Alara gives birth to Son

Less than a year, in fact only a few months, after the birth of his first grandson, Prince Alexander Kaleikaumaka of Colfico, King Arthur welcomed the arrival of yet another grandson, this time closer to home as his daughter-in-law the Duchess of Rossendale gave birth to her first son. The child, was determined it seems to arrive at its own time, coming two weeks later than expected, and just four days before his older sister’s second birthday.

Wattingham Palace has announced that the child has been named Arthur William Henry Andeja, for his grandfather, King Arthur, his distant ancestors, Prince William of Derita and King Henry II of Espana, and his first cousin, the newly ascended Emperor Andeja IV. Hours after the child was born King Arthur issued letters patent making him His Royal Highness, Prince Arthur of Rossendale, the same HRH and princely styling of his older sister, Princess Caroline.

Prince Arthur is currently third in line to the throne of Great Hyruke after his father and older sister.

Prince Voarok leads troops in Occupation of Imarati

Prince Voarok, brother of Paras Kanatus lead 8,000 Patuanian soldiers into the city of Potedia where nine months earlier he saw King Besarion execute Grand Duchess Helena and become the sole ruler of Imarati. Now with Besarion dead in Derita and Queen Kiayon under house arrest, the Patuanians and Borean League have been United in their pursuit of a new plan to stabilize the mountainous kingdom.

The Patuanian army has surged across the border, calling on Inaratiand to lay down their arms and collaborator with Borean League Peacekeepers while they seek to reestablish order and rule of law over the nation. Prince Voarok meanwhile leads the spear head into the country, meeting all who attempt to cause unnecessary blood with extreme retribution. He has declared a state of martial law over Western Imarati and order all subjects to return to their homes.

Prince Voarok’s operation is working in tandem with the Gosataborgian lead operation in Eastern Imarati, with the two princes expected to meet in the middle in the capital city of Soikon in order to establish a new provisional government.

Mother Empress sets sail for Imarati!

Prince Alexandre, Duke of Alencon and Prime Minister of the Celestial Empire gained a new title and office as he was officially sworn in as Regent of the Empire, a title previous held by his father from 2070 to 2073; 2079 to 2081; 2083 to 2085 for the absent emperor at the time, and before that by Mother Empress Aurora de Réev, from 1903 to 1915 for the minority of Azizi the Great.

The new Regent has promised to protect the people and prosperity of the Celestial Empire and serve dutifully the Emperor until he comes of age when he turns 21. However the Regent’s ceremony was overshadowed by events in the north as Mother Empress Marijani d’Aurelains, who many thought would have received the regency, announced her intention of continuing her husband’s military campaign to Imarati.

This has caused shock and alarm across the City and the Empire. Declaring the Gates of the North, the occupied archipelago upon which the late emperor died to be the Andejanes Archipelago and the newest territory of the Celestial Empire, guarded by a garrison of a thousand soldiers the Mother Empress announced her intention of picking up where her husband left off in his campaign.

Together with General Songezo Sikali, and her late husband’s body secured in a glass coffin, the Mother Empress and the Deritain Expeditionary Force took to the sea and sails for Imarati to restore order to the mountainous kingdom. Though with Besarion dead, it seems the Mother Empress may be working alone.

The Regent had thus far declined to comment on the matter, as many are concerned by the delay in the return of the Emperor’s body to the Empire, putting further delay on the expected grand state funeral. Meanwhile no one has so much as seen Emperor Andeja IV nor his fiancée Princess Oruk of Patuania, with rumors swirling of soldiers posted around Ezikwizalo University, though Prince Anakele, aide-de-camp and son of the Regent as assured the press that this is a matter of privacy for the students.

As the Mother Empress and her army moved closers to Imarati’s shores, some have suspected it or a race to Soikon between her, Patuanian and Borean League forces, to see who can reach the capital first, while others assert that the three must surely be all on the same side. With the Regent’s selective silence, it seems we many only find out once the Mother Empress marchs on Soikon itself.

Queen Dowager Kiayon gives birth in Aukusa City

Kiayon of Patuania, Queen Dowager of Imarati and younger sister of the Paras of Patuania gave birth to her first child in Aukusa City. The Queen Dowager, widowed following the sudden death of King Besarion, of whose death she was originally been accused of, but since then has been exonerated as investigators search for the true culprits, went into labor at her villa in the outskirts of the city. Doctors and midwives arrived and she was successfully delivered of a daughter, Princess Kiayana of Patuania & Imarati. The child, though the posthumous offspring of King Besarion, is, by the new agreement from the Soikon Conference, is third-in-line to the Imarati throne. With the birth of Princess Kiayana there are already plans for Queen Kiayon to be married to her late husband's successor and distant cousin, the new King Alexis, with the pair expected to be married in Aukusa City before setting off for Imarati.

Only days after the cheers of thunderous applause greeted Idi Senghore the Ejojade, the President-Elect following his victory against incumbent President Baturou Jammeh, with the Restoration Party weeping the south and central of the country, Senghore was able to swiftly and bloodlessly take control of the government in the capital, with Jammeh being removed from office while General Birom Kouyate, long time critic of Senghore, being arrested.

Senghore then proclaimed an end to the second republic of Narumada, and the restoration of the monarchy, talking back to the days of Good King Banja. However, with King Banja having died without children, which had sparked the beginning of the end of the monarchy in the first place in the prelude to the Second Narumadan Civil War, the throne remains vacant.

Senghore never the least has made his proclamation, saying that a suitable person will be found for the throne in time and in the absence of a monarch he has taken the position of Lord Protector of Narumada, a position with a great many powers like that of a king, within these prerogatives included the power to appoint and dismiss prime ministers, to name titles of nobility, to convene and dissolve parliament, and to command the armed forces. The nation shall retain its parliamentary form, with a new prime minister to be selected to serve as head of government.

King Alexis and Queen Kiayon crowned in Soikon!

A final end has come to the Maisidro War, the Imaratian Civil War as King Alexis arrived in the capital to great applause and acclaim with his new wife, Queen Kiayon of Patuania and her child, Princess Kiayana of Patuania and Imarati after sailed from the Celestial Empire. Alexis, tall and handsome is in striking contrast to his cousin and predecessor, but the 18 year old monarch has seem to win the hearts of the people as crowds numbering in the tens of thousands welcomed him in the capital city, where he and his 31 year old wife met with the Hereditary Prince of Gosataborg, Prince Voarok of Patuania and the Mother Empress of Derita.

There they finalized the Treaty of Soikon which sees Patuania and Imarati join the Borean League, promises a joint reconstruction and investment between Derita and Imarati in the port of Potedia and the cements the House of Volonte and it’s new Neba branch as kings of Imarati. The new laws of succession assert that all future monarchs must be male line descendants of King Alexis, or should there be none available the collateral lines of his sister, the 16 year old Princess Christina, and then the two month year old Princess Kiayana, following male-preference primogeniture and forbidding the Union of Imarati with a foreign throne.

The treaty also forms a new semi-constitutional parliamentary government for the kingdom, with elections to be held for the first time in Imarati this spring. Despite this, the king will still have full executive authority and will be advised by a council of state. King Alexis as the crown, a new one created especially for the occasion as a gift from the king’s grandmother, the Queen of Genes, a gold headpiece with rubies and black diamonds, was placed on his head promised to learn and listen to his people and in his reign give and do everything for Imarati.

Queen Kiayon dies at age 31

Kiayon of Patuania, twice Queen of Imarati and younger sister of the Paras of Patuania collapsed while making her way to have breakfast with her husband, King Alexis, and by the time doctors examined her, the Rose of Patuania was declared dead, just three days after her second coronation. Kiayon, widower of the late King Besarion and the still newly minted wife and crowned queen of his cousin and successor, the 18-year-old Alexis had only just arrived in Imarati after being away in the Celestial Empire for eleven months. Shortly after their joint coronation, the Queen began complaining of a mild headache and of feeling over heated. The suddenness of the death of Queen Kiayon has sparked some to believe she, like her first husband, was poisoned, while others had blamed it on Eteläinen Sairaus literally the southern sickness said to afflict those who venture south of the Patuanian Alps. With the death of Queen Kiayon, her grieving brother has taken charge of his orphaned niece, Princess Kiayana and has arranged to return to Patuania following a ten day period of mourning and the beloved queen's funeral. Princesses Hosa, Voarok and Oruk along with the Paras are to attend the funeral in Soikon.

Vautenshupe Rebels Strike Again!

This evening around 6:29pm DST, Vautenshupe rebels attacked Hagati du Pont outpost and captured 76 civilians at Resoro Hagati, a famous Kazache provencial resort. The majority of the town was either burned down or severely destroyed. It is estimated that 8238 of the 39281 people were killed in the attack. About 2.8 Trillion Dinebulatian Rubles of damage was recorded severely hurting the tourism industry. Vautenshupe rebels have occurred more frequently in the past week and Kazache and Borentop Provence's are attempting to negotiate with the Vautenshupe. If all goes wrong, the Dinebulatian Security Force will have to initiate Operation Hilltopper, the planned occupation of the 17 Vautenshupe Specially Administered Counties. The Black Wedding of King Alexis and Oruk of Patuania!

Just ten days after the death of Kiayon of Patuania, twice Queen of Imarati and just one day after her funeral, his widower and second husband had married his own second wife, her cousin Princess Oruk of Patuania, former fiancée of the Emperor of the Celestial Empire. Rumor has it that Oruk, who was in the capital for her cousin’s funeral, was seized by Imaratian and Patuanian guards to prevent her from leaving. The princess was informed of the dissolving of her engagement to the Emperor and new one to the King of Imarati only an hour before she was expected to marry King Alexis.

It is believed that this sudden change was not the work of the King, the princess or the Empress, but of the older individuals who hold the strings of power, namely the Colonels Gvasalia & Saralidze, Paras Kanatus and the Duke of Alencon. This is believed as both bride and groom looked displeased and distraught as they arrived at a small chapel, all the guests and the king himself still wearing black for mourning Kiayon. Princess Oruk was marched down the aisle escorted by a team of six Patuanian soldiers to the altar. Both young people reportedly had tears in their eyes throughout the ceremony.

When it was time for the ‘I do’s, the King, perhaps citing the Treaty of Soikon and his need of a Patuanian bride, said so, but Oruk, perhaps remembering her love for the Emperor, refused to speak. She she didn’t answer the second time she was asked, the Paras of Patuania reportedly forced her head down, and this nod as a form of ascent. As the bride and groom left the table, both looked more like ghosts than newlyweds. One attendee, who wishes to go unnamed described the affair as a second funeral, “where love was the corpse in the coffin”.

A Bad Beginning

Screams and fire filled the night sky as the capital burned following the announcement of the engagement of Emperor Andeja IV to Lady Alexandrine Hollande.

It seems misfortune looms over the Regency of the Empire as disaster after disaster has lead to the capital going literally up in flames. Earlier this month, Queen Adriana of Colfico arrived in the capital to a lackluster reception, determined to speak on the importance of de-mining, but when not meet with boos in the streets of conservative held Gaosa, was met with mournful silence. As Emperor Andeja IV made his first public appearance since ascending the throne, onlookers were shocked to find the handsome monarch a gloomy as a ghost. Dressed in all white with only a black coronet on his head, ‘he looked more like the sovereign of the dead’, state one onlooker ‘than the Emperor’. Gloomy, the Emperor did not speak once through his cousin’s visit before she hastily returned home.

The Emperor’s depressive nature has reportedly spread like a virus, infecting young people as they dress in somber colors and an obsession over heart break and forbidden love has swept the nation, having reportedly having had negative effects on work and academic performance around the capital. In the north of the country, young women have taken to holding portraits of the depressed monarch and weeping. In Gafa poet Gengxin Hu Kwanzji has made a name for himself performing pieces reflecting the heartbreak of the Emperor following the Black Wedding in Imarati and the forced marriage of Oruk of Patuania to the King of Imarati. Some have even petitioned to go to war with Patuania and Imarati to reunite the lovers.

But sorrow only continued as the Regent, seemingly deaf tothe sound of so many weeping people, held a grotesque parade of potential brides, nicked named the White Engagement, in reference to the Black Wedding, as five lovely high born Hyrukian royals and noblewomen were dressed in white mourning dresses and paraded past the sullen looking Emperor perched on a balcony to try and find which one he liked best. When it became clear the Emperor would not choose, reportedly the Regent stormed up to his side and yelled ‘That one!’, pointing at Alexandrine Hollande, Daughter the Duchess of Kerry and Lord Alexandre Hollande, grandniece of the late Empress Anaressa. Shortly afterwards a bulletin was posted announcing the engagement.

This was meant with a flurry of mixed opinions as many in the cities, particularly Aukusa City and Oran were less than thrilled of yet another Hollande becoming empress, Empresses Anaressa and Amélie having both been fierce ultra-royalists, while others, particular in the south thought a Genoise princess would be better suited to the job. Most however have been polled to find no problem with Alexandrine herself, but in the cold and tone-deaf way that the Regent choose her for the Emperor, with whom so many sympathize with his broken heart. Then, to make matters worse, last night a massive explosion blossomed in the heart of the city in the midst of the construction sites of the capital.

While some have called it an ominous sign against the engagement, it has been confirmed to have been a gas leak, likely caused by a dejected human error, the result of which was a large explosion in the heart of the construction sites for the Inawa, destroying the incomplete building and racing along the gas line and sparking seven more devastating explosions across the city before it could be sealed and stopped. Fires quickly swept over the small city, leaping from building to building and forcing a citywide evacuation. As tens of thousands were forced to flee, the night sky blazed as bright as a son as the capital and many projects still being developed burned. Thankfully deaths were minimal, reported at 100 or so, as many of the fires were carried into roof tops by the wind allowing for people to more easily escape the flames.

Still the rapidity and intensity of the fire forced many to go to the Djata and Mnayama rivers to help pump water to aid the city’s fire department. Keoni Rohan, Augustus and Louis Dupuy were all seen leading the effort of rescue, with a fourth young man, who while officially unidentified is widely believed to be an incognito Emperor Andeja IV. The young monarch, in time of immediate crisis, may have switch from depressed to a protector of the people were guided to safety. The Emperor has released no statement confirming his actions. It is believed the piece meal design of Gaosa, built atop a large amount of pre-collapse infrastructure was to plan for the rapid spread. It was not until early in the s morning the last fires were put out.

Emergency camps have been established in the tents of the Imperial Pavilion at the command of the Regent. Gaosa however lays largely in ashes, an inauspicious beginning to an imperial engagement and the lasted disaster under the Regent’s tenure. Hu Kwanzji reportedly stated that all Deritains are connected to the Emperor, for where his heart has been reduced to ash, so too now has the heart, ie capital, of the Empire. Governance facilities are to be moved and operated in Ezikwizalo until Gaosa is restored, though the city shall keep its designation as the Celestial Capital.

Josephine of Gante, age 100, dies

The Imperial Court is sad to announce the death of Josephine of Gante, Dowager Empress of Narkova and Queen Dowager of Viscovia who died on 1 March, 2134 at the age of 100 years old. The youngest daughter of the first Princess of Gante, and sibling of notable figures such as Queen Christine of Genes, and Empress Auguste of Riessany, prime minister the Dukes of Mouscron and Aumale, Josephine was a beloved and amicable figure amongst her family and her community. Josephine would be both an empress and queen like two of her older sisters, though only briefly. At 31 she married Emperor Vantern II of Narkova, and gave birth to fraternal twins Prince Vantern and Princess Nicolette, only for her husband to lose both his crown and his head less than a year later in 2067. With Narkova carved up by other nations Josephine returned home, raising her children in Gante. Royal romance would come knocking six years later when she dated and then married King Charles II of Viscovia in 2073, but tragedy would follow closely with Charles' death in 2075 and the dissolution of the Viscovian kingdom. Once again returning home Josephine would spend the remaining 60 years of her life dedicated to aiding single mothers and families with victims of violence. She passed away with her twin brother, the Duke of Aumale, and her children, Vantern Narkov III and Princess Nicolette of Genes at her side. She is survived by not only her two children, but also by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Hiatara Automotive Group Unveils Kiafora Compact Sedan in both Colfico and the Celestial Empire

Automotive newcomer and rising star, Hiatara Automotive Group, which includes Hiatara Automotive Coloany, and Visalia Automotive company, have been making waves in the fledgling, but rapidly growing Colficoan automotive market, which has seen the company quickly rising in sales, although its competitors, Kevin Motors, has yet to respond, it is unclear how long this will remain the case.

However, it would seem that HAG has no intention of waiting to find out, as at an international automotive show, the company unveiled its newest product, a compact, four or two door sedan, aimed at being an affordable and highly practical vehicle for daily use. The vehicle is powered by the new, Hiatara built 1100 cc 4-Cylinder Inline engine, which while not being particularly powerful, is a simple engine designed to be easily maintained with readily available tools. However, what is notable is a difference in the versions offered, while the version built for the Colficoan market, is fairly plain, in the Celestial Empire, as well as certain richer areas of Colfico, Visalia, the luxury daughter company of Hiatara, will be offering oth and four and two door luxury version of the vehicle, with higher end upholstery, as well as a higher emphasis on ride comfort, however, this version will still feature the same engine, and will be compatible with parts from its ‘lesser’ trim. The Vehicle is also expected to be offered on the Hyrukian and Caraintese markets, however, this has not been confirmed yet, and other markets are subject to change based on demand or lack there of for the vehicle.

A Runaway Emperor!

Gossip and rumors are abound as palace insiders at Ezikwizalo University told Royals Life reporters that the Emperor had disappeared! Less than six months after becoming the sovereign of thf largest empire on the continent, Andeja IV has vanished from his dorm chambers at Ezikwizalo University where he has been attending school for the last two years. Though having visited Gaosa several times, once to attend a state visit from the Queen of Colfico and again for his engagement to Alexandrine Hollande, he has thus far continued his studies at the prestigious college.

However that seems to have come to and end as the Emperor has seemingly disappeared, somehow slipping past not only his fellow students and faculty and staff of the school, but also the eyes of the Regent and the Imperial Guard who’ve been stationed around the campus for months. It was not just the Emperor, but several his close friends and gentlemen of the chamber, including Keoni Rohan, and brothers Augustus and Louis Dupuy. Also reportedly missing was the Emperor’s Visalia C-100, a recent gift from the foreign luxury automotive company.

The disappearance of the Emperor however has sparked more intrigue than concern as it seems that this was a vanquishing act conducted by the Emperor and his friends themselves. Which leaves open the question of how and why? For now, it remains a mystery, one our readers are no doubt eager to uncover. As the nation goes on Emperor watch, wondering where, when and if he will pop up , speculation ranges from spring vacation to fleeing his engagement. Meanwhile the office of the Regent has continued to refuse to comment on the story.

Radios across the Bay Area were filled to brim with the sweet melody of the newest venture from Verga Co. via their subsidiary Verga Records: the Celestials. The rising entertainment company, famed among Aukusans for the glittering thrill of their theme park, Vergaland, the company has recently been breaking into new forms of media aside from their beloved children cartoons into the world of songs

Just yesterday Verga Records announced a scheduled debut concert for a new band at the Aukusa City Cultural Centre, a bold plan as the ACCC is usually reserved for the likes of orchestras or renditions of the works of Henrietta Rohan or Maximilian Ungarberg. As curiousity and interest builds, Verga Records has remained otherwise elusive for interviews with Aukusan Broadcasting News reporters.

Instead Verga Records had decided to give us only a taste, taking over the airwaves like no one has ever done before releasing the name and debut single of the new project, the Celestials and their song “Outrageous”.

The upbeat ear worm of a song played by the four-man band of boys has flooded the radios across the the Bay Area and in its wake new fans have been dancing and humming the song nonstop. Most ear catching is the fast lighthearted beat of the song, a radical departure from the classics, ballads and performative traditional songs. Music critic Matanzima Makepula has dubbed it as iqama-pop for its dance inducing pastel appeal to the middle class teens, particularly girls, of the city.

This entire experience represent a stunningly new approach to the music history in Deritain history, where most popular music was traditional music or artists classically trained and made famous by opera and cinema performances, and where radio has largely be reserved for news broadcasting and official government statements. But as Aukusa Bay Area blazes the trail in mass commercialization and privatization, this new mass media form of information is being tried for the very first time. And it seems Verga Records and the Celestials may have just caught lightning in a bottle.

Fayola Obasey has been ousted from power as anti-war sentiment reached a fever pitch after her announcement of a new draft law calling for more soldiers to be sent to the frontlines along the Genoise border and in the North at the Chayare River Valley. This, compiled with the continued embargo on Turandan ships, rumors of mass soldier insubordination, and ever-present protests in Bendas proved too much.

The coup got underway at about noon, with an attack on police headquarters in Bendas by commandos from the Turandan Special Regiment (TSR) the same task force that assaulted the Lajastinean Embassy in 2132 led by Jelaney Ogbonna. During the assault, the chief of police Uchechee Odion was shot and killed. State Counsellor Obasey initially sought refuge inside the Executive Mansion but was betrayed by her own staff, who handed her over to Amachey Chydea, the new chief of police.

Colonel Otuosoro Orjea, declared martial law over the capital, presenting the resignation of Obasey and all her civil government appointees, placing control in the hands of soldiers. She, Orjea, then called on Chief of Staff Adisa Oringo to take on the position of interim head of state of Turanda. Oringo, a veteran of the Lajaz-Turandan War, though hesitant, accepted and as his first act called for a ceasefire in the war against Caraintos and her allies.

King Jianryan II marries Princess Adela of Genes

King Jianryan II, 57, announced his marriage to Princess Adela of Genes, 22, after returning from their private month long honeymoon. The couple, who first met in the fall of 2133 during a state visit between the King of Sonaland and the Queen of Genes, Adela’s aunt. The pair were quietly married on March 23rd in a small intimate traditional Sonalander ceremony with friends and family. With the announcement Adela of Genes becomes Queen consort of Sonaland, only the second in the nation’s reborn history. Well wishers sent many flower to King Jianryan and Queen Adela as they returned to the Chensha Palace.

President Vollan Wins Second Term

6 March 2134

The capital was awash with revelry last night as a parade for the ages thundered through the streets of Intiom; religious orders, musical bands, and a troupe of dancers followed a division of the First Pioneers, the Lyghan military force that serves as the President’s guard, as they marched through the streets. Crowds lined the pavements, waving the distinct colours of our nation’s flag as the parade passed them by and cheering as the spectacle unfolded.

It was announced early in the evening that Henryk Vollan had won his second seven-year term as president with an overwhelming 72% of the vote. It had been thought that opposition groups, emboldened by polling leading up to the day showing the gap was closing in the presidential vote, may demand a recount should the margin be tight, however President Vollan proved, like his father before him, that the country wants to see more of the agenda the President has implemented over the past seven years.

The vote wasn’t as resounding for the President and his People’s Law party in the Common Assembly, but no tears will likely be shed from the President from within the Emissarium tonight – of the 300 seats, the People’s Law gained 201, down from their previous total of 233, with the Liberal Party of Lyghal retaining their reins as the main opposition with 53 seats and the remaining seats being split between smaller parties. President Vollan will likely be happy with that result, giving him a majority from which his agenda is likely to be unchallenged.

Speaking of the agenda, President Vollan addressed his supporters after it became clear he was the winner. Standing on his rostrum at the base of Intiom’s Koseika Tower and accompanied by his wife, Mrs Charlotte Vollan, his four adult children and his closest advisors, the President had this to say:

‘My friends, my countrymen, Lyghans, tonight you made a decision that will change the course of history. I will soon re-assume the position of your leader, a post I am most honoured to have been elected to once more, to guide our country through the trying times of this modern age. You did not just put a cross in a box today, you secured the future of our nation; a future in which Lyghal will rise further still from the proud perch upon which it rests.

Though we may not have the glamorous monarchies, the ancient histories, nor the rich ceremonies adopted by our neighbours, our strength lies not in these shows of pomp. Our strength lies in you, all of you, ordinary Lyghans with towering ambitions for themselves, for their families, for their country. It is because of you that the next seven years will see Lyghal change in ways our forefathers, when they reached these shores hundreds of years ago, could only have dreamt in their most feverish of dreams. It is said that when our ancestors had finally, after years of struggle, triumphed over the barbaric societies that inhabited this land before them, they wept both tears of joy and regret. Joy, because they knew they would build the foundation of a great, thriving Lyghal. Regret, because they knew they would not live to see it.

Paras Kanatus begins Infrastructure Renewal Movement

Paras Kanatus announced the beginning of the new nation wide Infrastructure Renewal Movement, a series of large scale projects meant to improve the lives of millions of Patuanian citizens and provide domestic jobs, planned to lift countless people out of poverty. Though the largest of the Borean nations, Patuania has continuously ranked as the poorest with many of its populace living lives as subsistent farmers, an increasingly difficult position as population grows in the harsh climate of the country.

In order to combat this, Paras Kanatus has set forth the Infrastructure Renewal Movement, already approved by the Grand Assembly, to be an economic boost to the country. The movement planned on seeing the construction of a state of the art modern highway system to connect the entire nation, the expansion of a port, the construction of Patuania’s first hydroelectric dam and construction of an extensive railway.

The first step has been the collectivization of all property in the commonwealth under the control of the Paras and the central government. Former property owners have been granted temporary leases on their homes and lands for the next six years, subject to change as deemed necessary by the state. A new advisor has been appointed to the Commonwealth Treasury to lead a full inspection of all of Patuania for record keeping and tax collection adjustments as well as economic direction.

Already projects have begun in Sioratassuar as the Paras has authorized the complete revamping of the city’s water supply system to be replaced with new and improved pipes, with many temporarily having to rely on state community wells till the new renovations are complete. This new movement is a radical shift in policy attention for the Paras from external to internal interests. However this new Patuania First ideological approach to the economy has already proven popular with many throughout the rural population.

Paras Kanatus welcomed Capitalism to the Commonwealth

Just months after the radical collectivization of all land property in the commonwealth, Paras Kanatus has backtracked somewhat with the ending of his socialist policies and adoption of new capitalist ones. While the state ownership of land with leases to citizens continues, which has seen the economy improve as the government has been able to regulate land prices and provide more affordable housing rates for the urban centers of the commonwealth, industry is being handed over to the private sector.

The Paras has begun filling out the private industry through the National Economic Auction, lead by the Economic Reform Committee, auctioning off large stakes of previously state run industries to private citizens across sectors from transportation, energy production, mining, etc. these individuals, properly evaluated by the National Bank before hand stand to become some of the wealthiest citizens in Patuanian history and is hoped that under these new competitive conditions will lift the Patuanian economy without subjecting it to the interest of foreign businesses.

A condition of these auctions has this been headquarters remaining in Patuania, a minimum 80% Patuanian employment rate and the avoidance of an entry into internal political or military affairs, with arms manufacturers, with the largest stake won in auction by the Paras’ cousin Temaye Narikid, being restricted by an government advisory council to review and approve who the company can sell to.

Over a year has since the untimely death of Emperor Andeja III, and with the formal mourning period over, and the regency set to in three months on the young Emperor Andeja IV’s 21st birthday, many have have focused the romantic life of the Emperor. However while most gossip about the ever growing queue of woman seeking his hand in marriage, the more politically astute will take more notice of the Regent, and the calendar.

The Duke of Alencon since 2131 has served as Prime Minister following the removal and death of his predecessor Lord Louis de Hollande, and took the mantle of Regent in 2133 following his nephew’s death. This for the last 15 months he has wielded unprecedented legal power, that of an effective absolute monarch not seen since the days of his grandfather. However now he may soon be left with nothing, as while the Regency ends on 17 March 2135, the current term of the premiership ends on 5 March, two weeks before.

However there seem to be none who would oppose the Duke of Alencon, as his political opponents, such as the two former empresses remain their abroad and having usurped their traditional role of the Variés as the Doctrinaires, the Liberals rutterless and leaderless since the death of the late Duke of Maine, most have thus far assumed the Duke shall continue to serve as Prime Minister. But most have not considered that of Alexandra de Hollande, Duchess of Mouscron & Connaught, who has just arrived back in the empire

The double duchesses, as some have nicknamed her, is the younger sister of the late aforementioned Prime Minister Louis de Hollande, daughter of the executed playboy Duke Willem of Mouscron. She is also the granddaughter of the first Duke of Mouscron, who himself served as Prime Minister until his own death in the early 2080’s. Alexandra herself only managed to escape the jaws of the late Emperor’s tigers thanks to her marriage to the Duke of Connaught which took her out of the nation.

Now she returns, claiming the mantle of the head of the Ultras (ultra-royalists) the Conservative party championed by her family, the Hollandes, through the decades. Welcomed by her ancient grand uncle, the retired Admiral, the Duke of Aumale (and yet another former prime minister) the double duchess has been championed as the new voice of the ‘Mothers of the empire’, horrified by the liberal and radical change amongst the young people and the loose, reportedly listless way that the Regent has held onto the reins.

The Duchess of Mouscron & Connaught, with her husband, son, and daughters in tow has promised to return the Celestial Empire to glory, one with respect to tradition, adherence to Les majeste laws, reverence to the Crown and the promotion of good familial values. And with mothers across the eastern coast echoing similar sentiments, concerned by the ruckus music and fashion and love of their children, turn to Alexandra de Hollande and the so called ‘ducal family model’ as she announced her intention to run for the premiership and become the next, and first female, Prime Minister of the Celestial Empire.

While many hope for news of the expectation of a new child from the newly weds, Princess Helena and Prince Angemar, who have reportedly been greatly enjoying their honeymoon, supposedly solely from the bedroom of their deviled villa on Yanéga Island, they shall for now continued to be left to wait.

In exchange is the news of a birth of a new Genoise princess from a different branch of the Valois Dynasty. Prince Yohannes, the penultimate son of the late King Frederick III by his third wife, the Queen Dowager, Catherine of Aurelains, has welcomed the arrival of his first child by his wife, Princess Bridgette (née Lady Bridgette Dreyfus-Lennon), eldest daughter and heir of the Marchioness and Marquis of Beaumont.

Born eleven months after the quiet marriage of the prince (47) and lady (27), the new child was born in Aukusa City, where the couple has taken up residence alongside the prince’s mother and brother, the still unmarried Prince Mjazzkan. A girl, the first grandchild of the Queen Dowager has been named after both her paternal grandparents, as Princess Catherine Frederica of Genes.

Despite her royal title, entitled to her as a grandchild of a monarch, albeit a late one, Catherine Frederica is unlikely to ever sit on the throne, being 30th in line to the Genoise Throne.

Presidential elections have been held in the Republic of Domino, in which an upset occurred as sitting Conservative party President Charles Grey lost the election with only 34% of the vote. He was beaten by the young Liberal party candidate Juan Rovio, whom got 50.5% of the vote to win the presidency, he will assume office March 1st, being the first non-Dominon born person to hold the office.

Juan, a 33 year old upstart immigrant from the city-states, has become a sensation in the nation. With him serving a term in the Dominon legislature and being the main prosecution lawyer in the first human rights abuse trial of Zydos’ history.

Mr. Rovio will have a big job, seeing Grey’s presidency lowered their rating from 3rd to 5th in the Zydos Nation Rankings. However, he is confident in his, and his government’s, ability.

He will be inaugurated in Dominion, Domino.

Breaking News in Zydos!

The Secretary of Interior, P.J. Sebastian, whom is also the head of the Secretariat Opposition has died from heart cancer on March 2, 2135. He has been known for his infrastructure improvements. However, his seat is being filled by a promising young man.

Meet John Hamill, age 30. He was 26 when he was elected as Secretary of Banking, and he was the Vice Opposition Leader as he got second in the Conservative Party primaries. He is known to be a fiery, idealistic, powerful speaking man.

We will see how he works as a counterbalance to the Centrist Secretary of Government and Deputy Secretary of Government and the Liberal Secretary of State.
