Great Fire of Bagata!
Image
Bagata on fire

Disaster strikes the capital city of Bagata as fires rage through the heavily populated city following a series of gas line explosion in the urban center. As reports come in, it is currently believed that Génin Gas' 315 Street pipeline was going through repairs following some damage to it following extensive water damage that had eroded away at sections of the pipeline that supplies many homes in the city with gas. As workers were working on the pipeline some sort of malfunction is believed to have caused a spark and prevented the flow of gas from stopping, resulting in a destructive series of explosions across the city. Authorities are not yet sure why the fail safe systems did not activate. The result however of this failure is that within thirty minutes of the explosion, a quarter of the city was engulfed in flames, and hundreds already dead. Firefighters and other emergency services are currently swarming the city whilst many have in a panic have attempted to evacuate the city as fire unlike anything seen in centuries consumes the capital. King Kresimir V has announced a state of emergency in Bagata and has openned up the palace to act as a base of operations to help fight the spreading fire. More information as we have it.

Royal Referendum!

With the Scottish still divided even after the death of James, Duke of Albany , claiming to be King of Scotland under the name of James IX, between Queen Adelaide II and King Henry II. With Henry II holding most of the country with the backing of the Belian Army under General Meert many have started to believe that perhaps he is indeed the true King of Scotland. With support coming from the leaders of the Scottish nobility such as the Duke of Argyll, Lord Kilmarnock and the Duke of Lennox, but once should not be so naive in the certainty. Across the country there have been open protest and rebellion against Henry, who they have refused to recognize as king, lead in the south by the Duke of Hamilton and Earl of Home, with protesters and soldiers keeping out of their regions of the country from Belian and Rothesay supporter's hands. In the north, the Highlander clans are strongly supportive of their queen in exile lead by the Earl of Cromartie, Lady Saltoun, Baronetess of Morvern and Marquess of Huntly and their regional sections of the Army. However so far the actions over the last few months have mostly been skirmishes, resulting in many injured, but few deaths. Now however it seems the subtle hostilities of the uneasy situation plaguing Scotland might come to an end with a new referendum to be held for all the people of Scotland to decide the future monarch of the Kingdom. The vote is to take place in December of this year.

Queen Adelaide arrived in Inverness!
Image
Machine gun armed convoy carries the Queen south through Inverness

‘Long Live the Queen!’ This was the great cry in the streets of Inverness over seventeen thousand people came to cheer on the arriving Queen Adelaide II and her entourage. Others shouted cries of ‘Scotland Forever!’ and ‘No crime goes unpunished!’. In the North, where support of Queen Adelaide has been undying, they celebrated this great return of the Queen, who has not lived in Scotland, though has visited previously, in eighteen years.

Queen Adelaide and her entourage of nearly a thousand and five hundred members arrived in Inverness at 12:18 pm aboard the Gênoise warship, Châitment. The entourage is reportedly composed of servants, musicians, pages, heralds, a few mechanics, nuns, priests, cooks, maids, drivers, a spokes person, a scribe, twelve companions, four ladies-in-waiting and a private secretary for the Queen. Among the entourage were two foreign royals, acting as the Queen’s bodyguards, the Dukes of Alençon.

King consort André was notably not present. It is believed he has remained in Fontainebleau, but for reasons not yet known.

The entourage was quickly loaded off of the Châitment and into a armored motorcade following a brief meeting between the Queen and Earl of Cromartie. The motorcade went trough the city of Inverness, which has fallen twice to the supporters of the Duke of Rothesay and twice been returned to the righteous supporters of the Queen and is not heading south towards what seems to be its destination of the frontlines.

It is as of yet unsure of whether the Queen is here to make war or make peace with the Duke of Rothesay, but with the promised Referendum to take place in the coming months, it is widely believed, give the fact that the Queen has arrived without soldiers but instead with priests and nuns, that the Queen intends to show mercy and cooperation with the Duke of Rothesay as the two seem ready to follow the will of the Scottish people.

Adelaide Crosses frontline, Henry heads north

In her stunning and almost dumbfounding procession south, Queen Adelaide passed through Fort William earlier today and has continued her trek south towards Edinburgh following a crossing of the frontier between areas of the kingdom loyal to her and loyal to King Henry. This was marked with someone attempting to fire on the motorcade, with one of the cards being hit, though the armored vehicle was not breached and the motorcade has continued south.

In the south meanwhile, Henry, Duke of Rothesay and for some the true king, and his wife Alexia have left Edinburgh, heading north, with the queen of Henry heading to Stirling Castle to prepare for their coronation. It has been announced officially that Alexia is pregnant with her first child. The Duke of Rothesay meanwhile has headed north, seemingly to meet the traveling queen at the head of a small army along with the Duke of Argyll and the Duke of Lennox.

Stellar Military Unveils SM-83-A Advanced Combat Armor
Image

Today the Stellar Army revealed footage of soldiers wearing its new SM-83-A armor, a new battle armor designed using materials and technologies borrowed from Vanguard battle armor, though scaled down and much lighter. The first thing to notice is the new helmet, which features complete coverage for the head, as well as a visor which features a array of powerful sensors, giving the soldier excellent situational awareness. The new armor also utilizes a low-grade personal Forcefield, which while it won't stop anything particularly powerful, will protect the wearer from short exposure to infantry weapons. The new armor also incorporates an advanced enviornmrntal protection system, which allows the soldier to fight for short durations in the vacuum of space, or for extended periods of time on hostile planets.

The materials in the suit are for the most part classified, however we have been told that the armor uses an energy dispersing bodysuit to help the wearer survive a hit from a plasma weapon, and while it won't stop all of the burns, will at least keep the wearer alive.

Peace of Callandar
Image
Leny Estate where the Peace of Callandar has taken place

— Callandar, Scotland; In a shocking turn of events, a peace has been made in the small countryside brown of Callandar just north of Loch Venachar between Queen Adelaide and King Henry. After months of chaos and upheaval in power and fights over the monarchy, the great terrible saga has come to a close with peace finally.

It came in Callandar, when the army of King Henry, comprised of both Scottish and Belian members meet with the procession and motorcade of Queen Adelaide, stopping them in their tracks. However, instead of fighting breaking out, we were able to witness history in the making. As the two sides lined up on either side of the rolling hills, the Duke Consort of Alençon left the procession of Queen Adelaide and walked to the enemy camp.

The Duke Consort was meet by the Robert Archibald Campbell, 14th Duke of Argyll, the 58 year old seasoned General andvhighest ranking officier in the Scottish Armed Forces, as well key supporter of Henry and ranked as perhaps the most powerful man in the Kingdom. Here the two men spoke, negotiating a truce in order for the two monarchs to meet, with some wiry remarks supposedly being made:

Duke of Argyll: “Have you come to surrender?”
Duke c. of Alençon: “Have you?”
Duke of Argyll: “We have brought an army while you have brought cooks and nuns.”
Duke c. of Alençon: “What made you do that? Are you scared of cooks and nuns?”

Nonetheless after roughly half an hour, the Duke Consort returned to the procession of the Queen. Moments later Queen Adelaide emerged from one of the cars, escorted by the Duke of Alençon. Wearing a dress of black and gold with a crown on her head, Adelaide and her escort made their way down the hill to meet with King Henry.

On the other end, King Henry emerged from one of the armored vehicles, cheers erupting his soldiers as he took off his helmet and briefly disappeared to change into formal attire. He then walked by himself, not escorted by any soldiers to meet with Queen Adelaide. For the first in their lives, the two meet, the two of them nearly the same height with Adelaide standing at 6 feet and Henry standing at 6 feet and two inches.
Image

Some of their conversation could be heard:

King Henry: “Queen Adelaide.”
Queen Adelaide: “Your Grace.”
King Henry: “We finally meet. Where is your husband? Your court? Your lavish entourage of ladies?”
Queen Adelaide: “I am afraid I will soon no longer need them. And... I thought it best that we speak in private.”
King Henry: “You, me, and your murderous brother-in-law?”
Queen Adelaide: “I have not come to wage war. I come to do what is best for Scotland.”
King Henry: “And what is that?”
Queen Adelaide: “There can only be one monarch.”
King Henry: “Is that not what the referendum is intended for?”
Queen Adelaide: “Yes. But I have come to make the choice easier.”

Shortly after the two spoke, the Duke of Alençon left Queen Adelaide’s side and the two monarchs walked together alone into the house of Leny Estate, where they had a private one on one conversation. Two hours later the two emerged from Leny Estate. Queen Adelaide ushered two servants forward, carrying with them the Stone of Destiny, brought with the Queen from Derita via Gênes.

Queen Adelaide then, solemnly, placed her crown atop the Stone of Destiny and left Henry’s side. She returned to her motorcade and moments later then morocade was surrounded by Henry’s army and the procession was lead back onto the street with Henry returning to head the caravan back south to Stirling. It has been said officially, that Adelaide “Wishes to serve God in the best interest of the kingdom”, suggesting she shall become a nun and join a convent.

With this Peace of Callandar, this war of succession is over. And it seems that Scotland has a new King. And it is time for a Coronation at Stirling.

Nemo me impune lacessit!
Adelaide II, Queen of Scots

Fireworks over Stirling Castle

- God save the Queen! These cheers once again cut through the streets of Scotland across the kingdom as word spread from Stirling Castle of Queen Adelaide's grand victory over the traitorous rebels against the Scottish people in the form of the Duke of Rothesay's Rebellion. At 5:17 am this morning fireworks exploded over the ancient castle as a grea restoration was taking place in the royal complex. The traitor, the Duke of Rothesay, was announced to be dead by pages from the castle. Minutes later at 5:26 am, Queen Adelaide II arrived at the tower gates of Stirling Castle where a crowd had gathered and cheers of joy erupted from them.

The events that took place within the castle before these actions took place before the Queen of Scotland emerged from the castle are not fully known, though it known that the traitor, the Duke of Rothesay was going a celebratory party in the castle following his kidnapping and imprisonment of Queen Adelaide a week ago and that she was locked in the chapel that is attached to the castle via a courtyard. At some point Adelaide was freed and the traitor was found dead in the dining hall of the castle alongside many of his conspirators. Some people have reported to have heard gunfire throughout the castle and the city, but it is believed that they mistook the fireworks for gunfire.

At 5:38 am General Meert of the Belian Army was found to have tragically died in his office in the Belian Army headquarters in Stirling not far from Stirling Castle. Moments later the new acting commander of the Belian Army in Scotland, Lieutenant General Mégane Deconinck announced that the Belian soldiers were to assist in stabilizing the situation by supporting the reign of Queen Adelaide and help crush the insurgents and rebels that may still be supporting the fallen traitor. This sudden switching of sides seems to come from Deconinck's orders directly coming from Bleugate itself. Whatever the way, support for the true Queen of Scotland comes with great cheers.

At 6:00 am, a sudden broadcast was projected throughout much of the greatest populated areas of the kingdom, including and stretching out as far as the cities of Edinburgh, Perth, Ayr, Glasgow and Hawick. The broadcast started with the display of the Royal coat of arms of the House of Valois, the ruling house of the kingdom, followed soon after with the nation anthem. The came the image on televisions across the nation came the image of Queen Adelaide seated in her throne in Stirling castle dressed in yet another black and gold dress with her crown once again on her head, radiating grace and power.

The Queen's Speech:

My people, I speak to you from from heart this morning. Today is the dawn of a new age for all of the Scottish people. For far too long we are have suffered together as insurgents, rebels and traitors have attempted to take over our country, my country and yours. No longer, I shall not allow it. I shall break the old cycle of violence and unrest, cup destroy the corruption and feudal mindset that has plague Scotland, I shall create a new glorious age for my people. As your Queen.

Since I was a child, I have been a queen, since a little girl I have been alone on foreign soil. I have learned to keep my life, my crown, my country, and I will. I will take my life in my own hands and no longer be bullied by those who are mine and the Scot's enemies. And there are many, they sit there in the shadows, in the dark, waiting to strike, both outside our borders and within, but I will cut them down, however many there are, I shall defy them. I shall defy the devil himself if he tried to use my country.

Traitors have attempted to seize my county. They have attempted to seize my crown, the crown given to be my God and the Scottish people when I was just a child. They have attempted to discredit me, hold me hostage and prisoner. They have attempted to go as far as to kill me, for while I prayed to God for guidance, the Duke of Argyll attempted to cut my throat and it it was through divide intervention that I am alive and he is dead. The Duke of Rothesay was a traitor, who conspired with others in order to make Scotland a slave to others. He has been punished. The Duke of Lennox has been punished. The leaders of this grand conspiracy against me and you, the Scottish people, my people, have been punished.

There are however, though who attempt to escape justice, though who attempt to slither into the dark like the snakes that they are. But they shall not escape. They shall be given justice. I shall ensure that are punished and justice is given. You, the Scottish people will insure that your enemies are punished and that justice shall prevail. I task you to find your enemies and bring them before me so that we may be freed of their venomous nature. Enemies of the State at large hereby include former prime minister Anthony Reyes, Lord Kilmarnock, the Marquess of Lorne, former Secretary of State Samuel West, former Secretary of the Interior Lady Gallagher, former Lord High Constable Sir Samuel Doorwood, former Generals Bryon Stafford, Lola Lewis, Avery Owen, Morgan Yates, and Sir Alfred MacKerr and are hereby to be apprehended and handed over to the authorities.

The Campbells, the Livingstones, the Cockburns, the Boyds, the Barans and the Montroses are all hereby declared enemies of the State, traitors of the Crown and the Scottish people. Those found harboring these criminals will be deemed co-conspirators, aiding and abetting, and acting in treasonous manners against your nation. I am your Queen and I shall punish those who defy me. I shall destroy my and my people's enemies, do not test my strength, or my fury, I warn you. No one provokes me with impunity. Much sacrifice of all venues must be take in order to achieve a singular goal. Justice. The world is a cruel place, and it is cruelest to the weak. So I, and Scotland and my people, must be strong.

To you my people, my countrymen, the great, loyal, strong Scottish people, lay down your fears and your worries, your burdens of thoughts of uncertainty into the future of the throne, the monarchy, the country, for I am here, and I shall make a promise with you and with God, a sacred vow. I promise you, I will let no one, not the Duke of Rothesay, not any usurper take my country from me. I will see Scotland and her people not only survive this traitor's poison and attempt to sow chaos, but I will see them thrive in the new age. I once said that I wished to serve God the best interest of my people.

I have heard the word of God and the Angels in Heaven above. They tell me to have faith. They tell me that the best way for me to serve is as your Queen. It has been ordained and nothing shall stand in my way, for it is the glorious destiny of the Scots. It is not the land that makes Scotland, that I serve and govern. It is the Scots. And the pre is but one true Queen of Scots. I have been, and will always be till the day that I breath my last breath, Adelaide de Valois the Second, Queen of Scots

Following the televised speech of the Queen, around the country, the flag of the kingdom alongside the royal standard rose as dawn fell over the country. Not too long afterwards, at 7:14 am Princess Sofia alongside the Duke of Hamilton arrived in Edinburgh with a group of soldiers, seizing control of the traitor's Garrison in the city following a a period of the traitors' attempt to resist the righteous forces of the Queen. Roughly thirty minutes later, at 7:50 am Princess Adela and the Duke of Berwick arrived aboard landing ships alongside Gênoise soldiers from the Châitment and Lereina in Glasgow.

As this new dawn rises over Scotland and Rothesay's Rebellion crushed, it is hoped that the continued reign of the Queen shall be long and peaceful. Long live the Queen!

Traitors Publicly Executed

Traitor’s blood was spilt as Queen Adelaide, by special decree brought back public execution to Scotland in regards to “Special cases of persons committing the highest distablizing crimes of treason”.

Many on the Queen’s traitor’s list have been captured and arrested in the last few days and placed on trial, and executed, such as the Marquess of Lorne, Samuel West and Lola Lewis or sentenced to life imprisonment such as Elliot Borbón-Montrose the new Duke of Rothesay and Avery Owen. Others, such as Ralph Livingstone and the Dowager Duchess of Rothesay are imprisoned but have yet to be tried.
Image
Anthony Reyes

It should be noted all of these previous mentioned capital punishment penalties have taken place in private. But then there are those of special cases and dangers. Chief among them is former ambassador Anthony Reyes, who was found by a mob two days ago attempting to sneak out a window of a hotel in Saint Ninians and was attacked, beaten and drag in handcuffs through the streets seven miles to Stirling Castle

Here Anthony Reyes was seized by guards and brought before Queen Adelaide and placed on trial by the Crown, an ancient practice of justice where the monarch is judge, jury and executioner. Queen Adelaide found him guilty of all his crimes and ordered him locked in the castle’s ancient dungeons. Today, the once most powerful man in Scotland, was dragged out into the steps in front of people, booing and throwing this at Anthony Reyes.

With Queen Adelaide seated to watch, Anthony Reyes was placed into an electroguillotine, saying: “I have offended the Queen, I have betrayed my post and my people, I have deserved a thousand deaths.” This were his last words as the electroguillotine was activated and his head severed from his body. Following the beheading, Queen Adelaide, gracefully as always, rose from her seat and stepped forward as Reyes’ severed head was raised for people to see, anshe spoke:

“This is Anthony Maahir Reyes. You may see a politian, a former prime minister and diplomat. Placed there by favor with the Crown. But I see a man guilty of committing atrocities against his countrymen. Sentenced to beheading, by his Queen. I have invited you here so that you may know that under my rule, all men and women and peoples of this kingdom will be judged no longer by favor or faith or nepotism, but for their actions. Regardless of my own personal dislikes and preferences I have been tasked to govern by god. I am Queen. I am not a Catholic queen, I am not Protestant queen, I am not a Deritain queen, I am your Queen. I was born on this soil, made a queen when I was not yet six, when traitors and corrupt men and infighting forced by mother to flee. I was raised to fight for this nation, to protect it and to govern it. I am Scottish. Scotland is in my veins as much as it is in any of yours. I believe in a Scotland that is independent, prosperous and peaceful. A Scotland that will not and can not be bullied, beaten or bought by anyone. If you agree with me, I tell you to look to those who doubt my legitimacy as Queen and would have you bow to their own foreign candidates, willing to hand our country over to armies and occupy your home, our home, and tell them what we have told countless invaders before, this is our land, our county, our nation, and though they may spill our blood, they will never and can never take the Scotland that pumps in our veins!”

This was met with cheers from the crowd in front of Stirling Castle, and one woman, Cairistìona Lovelace, Countess of Moray steepled forward and bowed to the Queen, promoted the rest of the crowd to follow. Long live Queen Adelaide!

Stellar Navy Unveils New Indivisible Class Frigate

Image

SNS Indivisble after her arrival to her deployment with Strikefleet Omega

Today the Stellar Navy made a surprising announcement last month as it announced that it had signed a contract with Trinity Driveyards worth $35 trillion dollars to build new ships for he Stellar Navy. Now the results of that contract have come into existence, as the Stellar Navy unveiled the first of a new class of Frigate. The SNS Indivisible is a relatively small vessel, however she packs a lot of bite for a ship of her size, thanks to her well optimized Quintuple mount turrets each containing five hypervelocity mass drivers, effectively allowing her to carry much more of the deadly anti-ship weapons than most ships of her type. She is only the first of a planned three hundred vessels of the Class, which the Stellar Navy has stated that it may expand the order even more should the ships perform well in service with the fleet. The Stellar Navy has stated that there is already plans for other types of ships to be constructed by Trinity Driveyards should this ship perform well, however only the future will tell if these ever come into being.

Princess Charlotte de Montrose Executed!

Image

The nation was shocked today as a new prisoner was executed, while most of the enemies of the Crown were dealt their punishments in the weeks following the end of Rothesay’s Rebellion last month, with the entire clan of the Campbells and Boyds being wiped out and dozens of other members of the rebellion executed or imprisoned for life, it had seemed that the executions had ended.

However, today it was realized how incorrect this assumption was.

Outside of Stirling Castle, in the same place where last month former prime minister Anthony Reyes was executed, a new prisoner was brought forth: Princess Charlotte de Montrose of Chartes, daughter of the late Queen Adelaide I and Duke Joseph of Chartes. The 18 year old princess, said to look so much like her late aunt Queen Anna, was brought out in handcuffs to the gallows.

The Princess has been detained in Russlande and transported to Edinburgh and then to Stirling yesterday. On the steps of the Castle, Princess Charlotte burst into tears, as she was brought forward. As her crimes of treason were attempted to be read out, she cried out to the people before her:

“Please! I know not what I have done wrong! I have never acted against Queen Adelaide, I did nothing wrong! Please, I beg of mercy! Please stop, I don’t want to die!”

This was cut off as the Princess was forced to her needs and swiftly executed, much to the shock of the crowd, with people gasping in horror and adverting their eyes from the swift death. While officially she was charged with treason, rumors have circulated that Charlotte, as a Montrose was a threat to the Crown.

King Kai-Kavus Coronated
Image

King Kai-Kavus of Imarati has been crowned at a coronation ceremony in Bagrati Cathedral in Soikon. In front of more than 8,000 guests, including state ministers and heads of vassal principalities from around the kingdom, he took the Coronation Oath and is now bound to serve his people and to maintain the laws of God.

After being handed the four symbols of authority - the orb, the sceptre, the rod of mercy and the royal ring of sapphire and rubies - the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Imarati, Anton III of Imarati , placed Imarian Crown on his head to complete the ceremony. A shout of "God Save the King" was heard and gun salutes were fired as crowds cheered. The Catholicos-Patriarch and fellow clergymen members then paid homage to King Kai-Kavus.
In a radio broadcast the 52nd King of Imarati said: "Throughout all my life and with all my heart I shall strive to be worthy of your trust".

An estimated one-and-a-half million people lined the streets of Soikon to catch a glimpse of the new monarch as he made his way to and from Sabch’os Sasakhle in the golden state coach. The ceremony was watched by millions more around the world as the MMK (or IBC) set up their biggest ever outside broadcast to provide live coverage of the event on radio and television. Street parties were held throughout Imarati as people crowded round television sets to watch the ceremony.

The crowds, some of whom had camped out overnight to ensure a prime position, were rewarded when the 52nd King of Imarati and other members of his family, including the king's mother, Princess Regent Arus, appeared on the balcony at Sabch’os Sasakhle. Despite the overcast and slightly snowy weather conditions the Imarian Airforce marked the occasion with a fly past down the Tsent’ri.

A fireworks display then lit up the skies above Rostom Embankment. The 52nd King replaced his granfather, King Kayas VII, as monarch following his death on August 9, 2082 in Selesburge, just two weeks after the death of Crown Prince Kavus. After 50 years on the throne he passed away in his sleep and his 15-year-old grandson Kai-Kavus immediately became King. The young king was, by his mother the Regent, formally proclaimed King of Imarati and Defender of the Faith in August 2082 upon his return alongside his grandfather's body, but the amount of planning and a wish for a sunny day for the occasion led to the long but excited wait for this day.

Invictus Colony, Invictus Sector

Battle of Invictus

Today the Invictus Sector finally saw the end of a several week battle, as the Stellar Military has finally managed to emerged victorious. The Battle began with minor skirmishes, which confirmed that the foe was the same enemy that had attacked at the Battle of Excalibur. With this Strikefleet Beta, which was on station at time, sent an immediate call for reinforcements from all nearby Stellar Navy forces. In the mean time, the strikefleet did its best to slow the enemy, however they were eventually forced to withdraw and regroup after the main enemy fleet of nine hundred and twenty ships arrived in System. At this point Strikefleet Beta began performing a hit and run strategy, attempting to peck away at the vastly greater foe. They managed to pull away smal sections of the enemy force, which were either destroyed or damaged before the strike fleet would fall back, staying away from the main enemy force. This fierce skirmishing continued on for a few days, with elements from Strikefleets Delta and Omega becoming involved, having arrived from nearby Systems. However the Battle only increased in ferocity as more enemy vessels arrived in System, increasing the number to over a thousand ships.

At this point the enemy fleet managed to make it into orbit of Invictus II, at which point they began disgorging forces upon the planet, at which point they began assaultibf the relatively young colony. Forces there, under the command of Brigadier General Magnus Delarosa, began a desperate stand against the enslaught.

The combined strikefleets managed to perform an Orbital drop, deploying the 58th Company of Vanguards to the planet, whom promptly joined the fighting on the planet below. However the maneuver cost the force, with at least three Cruisers being destroyed in the attempt. The fighting in space continued to consist of raids and Orbital drop supply runs for the next week, with Stellar Navy forces in the area ever increasing, with Strikefleet Charlie and Strikefleet Echo joining fray. The Orbital defense batteries also participated, however this only consisted of two guns, so the effect was minimal at best, though at this stage they did manage to claim at least four enemy vessels. The battle on the ground continued to be desperate and savage, with Vanguard, Stellar Marine, Stellar Army and Stellar Guard forces all struggling to maintain their hold on the colony.

As the battle dragged into the middle of its second week, Battlefleets Invictus, Vengeance, Tyrannus, and Homefront all arrived in System, totaling over a thousand vessels, and headed by the SNS Infernum along with three of her sisterships commanded by King William himself. The combined Stellar Navy forces launched a concentrated attack against the enemy, smashing against the enemy force with all of the might of three full battlefleets, however the battle swayed in the balance for the entirety of three days with both sides taking heavy losses. However on the forth day the firing in space finally ceased as the enemy force was annihilated, however at the cost of over three hundred and forty vessels from the Stellar Navy.

The battle was not yet over however, as the fighting still continued on the ground, at this moment the forces defending the colony were at the breaking point, having taken extreme losses, and nearly running out of supplies. However Stellar Vanguard and Stellar Narine ODSTs began to be dropped in mass, reinforcing and relieving the battered forces, and managing to force a counteroffensive against the enemy on the planet. The fighting on the planet continued for the remainder of two weeks, until the remaining enemy force was destroyed by a concentrated Orbital Bombardment from the dreadnaughts Infernum and Vengeance. With this the battle was officially over, with over 560,670 casualties from Stellar Military Forces, however enemy casualties are estimated to be in excess of three million on the ground alone, and an unknown number in space. With the battle over, General Magnus was awarded a noble house for his grace and courageous defense of the colony, and has been given a planetary estate in the Visalia system. The Stellar Navy has placed all of its assets on full mobilization status until further notice, and border sensors have been placed on the look out for any additional enemy forces, as it is feared that there may yet be more on the way. The Stellar Military has increased its recruitment qoutas, and has warned that should war break out, it may be necessary to reinstate the draft. King William has likewise called a meeting with all of his chiefs of staff, as well as has sent it te Sensor readings of the hostile threat to other spacefaring nations to warn them of the threat. There has also been talk of a possible League of Harmony meeting being contemplated, however this has not yet been confirmed.

Ascendance Tower construction begins!
Image
Design of the new Ascendance Tower in Londres

Nearly a year and a half had pasted since the terrible Stock Exchange terrorist attack that claimed the lives of Hyruke citizens and resulted in the severe damage and then later destruction of the old building. Since then direct rule under Queen Caroline has lead to the strick up rooting if terrorist cells both in Great Hyruke and without. In the time, while the rumble has been cleared, the memories remain.

However, while some had hoped for a moment to be made to those who lost their lives, Queen Caroline has expressed the need for the nation to move forward. Stating that “Great Hyruke must stand strong and as a leader for the rest of the world. We can not cower in fear, nor suffer in the past. We must look to the future, stronger and better than ever before.”

The new tower and plaza located in Londres, Great Hyruke. Anchoring the gateway between the central business district and the surrounding natural context, the tower, rising to approximately 2700 meters, becomes a technical expression of the developing region, while the surrounding plaza provides a cultural focal point for the continued expansion of the city.

The plaza includes retail, civic, and institutional structures, providing the perfect opportunity to become the cultural epicenter within the new development.

The tower’s elegant form is composed of three transforming design components: the shape, the structure, and the sky gardens. All three design components ground the tower in a continuous interaction between people and nature. The tower is bold, technical, and strong, while at the same time refined, natural, and elegant.

At 2700 meters, it will be the tallest building in Great Hyruke and the tallest building in the world if completed today, surpassing the Arc-Régnanté Tour in Gênes. It would be many meters taller than any other building in Londres, which continues to expand rapidly under the continued prosperity that has graced Queen Caroline’s nation throwout much of her reign over her grateful subjects.

As construction begins under the direction of local architect, Nathaniel Ross and his firm, Ross, Davis &Carter Inc, also more commonly known simply as Rodaca Inc. have already projected that the project will be groundbreaking in its completion time, stating that it is scheduled to be complated in just four years in 2086.

Duke of Montrose Executed
Princess Alexia released

Prince Alfred, Duke of Montrose was brought to the gallows this morning as the Queen's wrath continues, in her march to wipe out her enemies continues and now nears completion. This story starts in Genes, were the home of Catherine d'Montrose was surrounded by Genoise police forces in order to carry out extraction of the Duke of Montrose and the Duke of Queensbury, the only brothers of the Queen Dowager of Espana and the late Queen Anna. As the police surrounded the house, they demanded that the two Dukes be handed over to face trial in Scotland for claims of treason. While the Duke of Queensbury, the younger of the two brothers, fled the scene, taking a sky yacht and it is now believed he has fled the planet, the elder of the brothers, the Duke of Montrose is said to have kissed his sister goodbye and surrendered.

The Duke of Montrose was taken into custody and then after a few hours transported to the Kingdom of Scotland, were he was brought before the Queen in order to face a direct trial by the Crown, who reviewed the Duke of Montrose and his cases of treason against him. The Duke of Montrose attempted to denounce the trial and speak out against the Queen, committing further acts of treason it seems in the midst of his trial, and it was decided that he was guilty. Within three hours he was brought to the gallows. However, unlike Anthony Reyes, who beg for forgiveness for his crimes, or Princess Charlotte, who pleaded for her life, the Duke of Montrose, dressed in black spoke out against his execution, declaring:

"I am here today at the orders of a queen, our dear Queen who shares the name of my dearest late sister, our lawful queen, a queen who I have never spoken out against, the true and only Queen of Scots. But even our dear queen is not infallible. I pray for God's grace on her and mercy on her subjects, so that they may not suffer her wrath. For I come here to die on the orders of our dear Queen having committed no crimes save for one. I pray for all those who share the blood of the MacAlpin. I fear not death. I fear that my only crime, is having the misfortune of being a Montrose."

There was stunned silence as the Duke of Montrose finished his last words and seconds later, had his head separated from his body. The lands and other properties of the Duke of Montrose have hereby been divided up with 1/3 going to his only living sister the Queen Dowager of Espana with the other two thirds being confiscated by the Crown.

An hour later, news arrived that tragedy had struck the Dowager Duchess of Rothesay, Princess Alexia of Connuriste, held in prison since October, had suffered a miscarriage of her child with the late traitor, the Duke of Rothesay. Shortly afterward, the sobbing and ill Princess Alexia was brought before the Queen, where Queen Adelaide cleared her of any and all crimes and ordered her sent back to Connuriste.

Aogau becomes 3rd largest Arigculture Producer
Image
Local Aogaian farm outside of Wallatieu.

Food is a fundamental economic product, but only a handful of countries actually excel at food production. Most agricultural commodities require a lot of land, which only the largest countries have in abundance. Aogau is not one of those nations, and is a rather small country of roughly 587,000 square kilometers and being among the smallest of nations, dwarfed by all its neighbors save the island city-state of Ondas.

However, despite Aogau’s small size, under the well funded and efficient Department of Agriculture, Aogau has managed to not only compete with much larger nations, but also flourish. Thanks to Aogau’s low, flat and fertile land nestled between the Apamemea Mountains on the Rogeno-Aogaian border and the Oso Isauté (or Timug Tumaas) mountains in the south on the Aogaian-Visayanes border, nearly 90% of the country’s land is primed for agriculture.

As 2082 comes to a close, reports are coming in as the Department reviews the success of the nation and it has been found that Aogau has surpassed its long time international rivals on the agricultural sector of Rhine-East Berlin and Polonge, producing 63.5 million metric tons of wheat in the past year (3rd in the world) , providing 84.6 million metric tons of soybeans (3rd in the world), 100,883 thousand metric tons (2nd in the world), and 2.02 million metric tons of faba beans (1st in the world).

This great production of agricultural products is hoped to continue, though even as it reaches third over all in the world, the nation is still far behind much larger nations like Russlande and Derita, but Aogau will likely be able to maintain its new found position in the near future.

Chancellor charged by zealot in Zürich!

Chancellor of Connuriste, Aurelia MacDonald

Eleanor Riencourt (
@EleanorRiencourt)
December 21 2082 | Zürich, Switzerland

Chancellor Aurelia MacDonald was today attacked in a Zürich hotel in an incident that has left two people dead including the gunman, reports CBC in today's breaking news. The Chancellor was in the process of entering a room on the seventh floor when a lone gunman made his move. In an incident that has remarkably been captured in security footage, the gunman shoots the Chancellor's Specialist Protection Officer in the head and moves towards the Chancellor aiming their handgun at her, attempting to gain her compliance, though for what goal remains unclear. One can only assume that the gunman wished to use her as a hostage or gain access to some kind of files or documents.

What happens next, however, is nothing short of spectacular. As the gunman approaches and stops, Aurelia has her hands in the air. His gaze is momentarily diverted from his target as he looks down the length and she makes a grab for the wrist from which he wields his weapon. The gunman tries to shoot her but his bullet ends up only going into the wall and a struggle ensues, the Chancellor landing the first strike with a furious kick to the attacker's groin. The struggle quickly sees both the gunman and the Chancellor wrestling for control of the gun on the floor. The enraged gunman manages to grab the gun but Aurelia has also got a hold on the gun's slide, preventing the gun from recoiling as it again fires harmlessly into another wall. He tries to pull the trigger again but the next round won't chamber because of this. However, he still has the upper hand as the gun is tossed to one side, using his superior strength to try and assault the Chancellor into submission, landing blows relentlessly over and over in her side, though Aurelia still tries to fight valiantly. Once the gunman is satisfied that his target has been mostly subdued he reaches for his weapon yet another time, finally managing to discharge it twice into her upper body. All of this happens in under a minute.

However, this was the last action the gunman makes before being cut down by gunfire from within the corridor. Pascal Théréau, a pharmacist from Geneva was staying on the sixth floor as he heard gunshots from above him and went to investigate with his own firearm, dashing up the staircase and opening fire on the assailant. "I was just doing the right thing." he said, after the event. "I hope that if my neighbor heard gunshots in my house they'd wonder what's going on and investigate too. I wasn't really thinking about it to be honest, but as soon I saw what was happening once I got up there I didn't really hesitate."

Indeed, Mr. Théréau's dangerous actions could have got himself shot as well, if not by the gunman himself, by the security forces that pounced upon the scene after a literal couple of minutes. The Chancellor was swiftly airlifted to the local hospital with critical injuries, not only taking two gunshots but also sustaining fractured ribs, some of which pierced and punctured a lung. Her condition has not yet been described as stable by medical staff and it is currently unclear whether the Chancellor, who turns 40 next year, will pull through.

The state has not yet appointed an interim Chancellor but the threat level has been raised from high to as far as it can go in peacetime, which grants the state the right to exercise emergency powers. In the absence of the Chancellor, these powers lie with Emperor Connor II who once more returns to the helm of the Imperial Council. It is however as of this moment unclear to what extent these powers may be used in the coming days and weeks, nor is it clear who may take over as interim Chancellor, though 61 year old former Chancellor Gabrielle Tousart is one of the frontrunners for the position.

The authorities have stated they have identified the gunman, though they have not made this information public at the time of publishing. A spokesman for the local authorities has however stated that initial lines of inquiry have led police to believe that the attacker was acting on his own, and that they do not believe he was a professional and therefore more likely 'a man who saw a moment of opportunity and tried to take it'. Hotel cameras appear to corroborate this story, the gunman appearing to notice the Chancellor's entry from the ground floor and following her upstairs - whilst the top floor was not supposed to be accessed by anyone he gambled where she was heading and took the lift to the sixth floor, breaking through the door to the stairs above. However authorities have not yet commented on whether they believe the gunman had a rational motive for the attack or was simply deranged.

As always, more news as we have it.

As a veteran who has dabbled in the instruction of self defense from time to time, can't say I exactly recommend what you see here today! Attempting a disarm escalates the situation and is very dangerous! Most of the time a gunman only wants something as simple as your wallet, car keys or phone. That's not worth dying for. Of course, it can be difficult to think rationally in these kinds of situations. Though when you are a high value target like the Chancellor a gunman's aims often aren't so simple. Whether she makes it or not we must crack down on those who seek to bring about our downfall!

what is it about men underestimating women like this? Don't they know anything about Aurelia MacDonald? Would have wagered my house on her putting up a fight.

pascal you legend can't say i'd have the balls to do the same but credit to you, emergency response can take several minutes and sometimes in terrible situations you can't afford to wait so long for intervention! give this man a bloody medal!

for once something i don't have a conspiracy theory about. but people be acting like a hostage situation could have caused more harm and maybe they're right but i know the government has the tech to see and shoot through walls if it had happened in one of the hotel rooms there.

Declaration of Gwagan Independence!

Image
Republic of Gwaga

The province of Gwaga, also known as the Gwagan Region declared independence from Rogoda on earlier today, sending tens of thousands of local Gwagans streaming through the streets to celebrate what they hoped was the end of a long and tense struggle for national self-determination.

Gwaga’s bid to be recognized as the world’s newest country comes after the controversial Rogeno Presidential Election of 2082 when the nation was spilt and it became apparent to many in Gwaga that they were not headed for the same track as the rest of the nation. When Senator Chikawerva proposed a referendum held regarding Gwaga’s place, she was refused.

Tensions grew between Gali in Gwaga and far away Centetu in the south and there was even some bloodshed, with 12 people dying in December. Finally, on December 17 the leaders of the region came together in a secret Congress where they eventually agreed to declare independence from Rogoda, sending their statement to Centetu on December 29 and electing Chikawerva as the new republic’s first president.

This brings to a climax a showdown between the Gwagan, which argues that Rogoda’s brutal subjugation of Gwaga’s ideologically different majority cost it any right to rule the territory, and the Rogeno government. Already Centetu has countered that Gwaga’s independence is a reckless breach of international law that will spur other secessionist movements across the world.

As proud Gwagans danced in the streets and fired guns in the air in the capital, Gali, international reaction seems to be sharply divided, suggesting that the clash between the principles of sovereignty and self-determination may be far from resolved.

Addressing the Assembly of Gwaga in Nyagoyi, President Shungu Chikawerva said ““I feel the heartbeat of our ancestors. We, the leaders of our people, democratically elected, through this declaration proclaim Gwaga an independent and sovereign republic.”

Image
Newly elected President Shungu Chikawerva of Gwaga

Gwaga is a small state of 12.7 million citizens, roughly 70% desert with only the Watona River to provide water, is home to a population where the acerage income is 48,143 Gwagene Francs, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.6 times as much as the poorest. Gwaga however also holds some of the largest oil, gas, rhodium, platinum and gold, on the continent and the world, most discovered in recent years.

Despite the relative equality in the region, Gwaga is home to 7 of the 10 wealthiest companies in Rogoda, as well as the wealthiest people. It has long been argued that it was Gwaga’s natural gifts that were “being stolen and raped to benefit Rogoda” and now it is believed the nation shall be better off as it profits.

Hundreds of people, many waving the new Gwagan flags, celebrated in Gali’s famed Tsime Square. Revelers in cars drove in circles around the area, leading chants whenever they passed the crowds gathered on the sidewalks. Through the streets the great motto of the new and young republic could be heard:

“Gwaga Nokusingaperi! Gwaga Forever!”

Wedding of Hereditary Duke André of Savoy and Infanta Carlotta of Espana
Image

Gênes’s prince and future Duke of Savoy was married to the lovely Infanta Carlotta of Espana in this years first royal wedding. Prince André, Hereditary Duke of Savoy — a great-grandson of Queen Adela of Gênes — was in Milan, studying at Bocconi University when he proposed with a diamond ring to his then girlfriend, Infanta Carlotta, daughter of King Carlos III of Espana. The two were there studying for civic administration and financial management respectively when they meet and started their relationship. Neither wished for the public to know of the relationship, fearing the attention it would cause, not announcing their engagement until two months ago.

Carlotta stepped out in a beautiful wedding dress designed by Lo Vallo, the same designer who created the dress worn by Carlotta’s sister-in-law Frederica of Brunswick at her own wedding three years ago.

Carlotta, 21, is the only daughter of Josefina of Derita, Christopher II s fourth child, and King Carlos III. She is fourth in line to the throne through the Carlist line and has previously starred in ballet and other dance productions in Gênes and Milan, as well as taking part in her grandfather’s Golden Jubilee.

While she has not attracted anything like the global attention bestowed upon her brother Carlos and his Prussian bride, Carlotta’s wedding is not a small, or cheap, affair. More than 800 guests gathered in the Baroque chapel for the ceremony at 11 a.m. (6 a.m. ET).

The Queen, Grand Dauphin Frederick and most of the royals were in attendance, with Carlotta’s cousin Louise of Saxony taking on the role of maid of honor. Christopher Montagu, the groom's friend, was the best man. The wedding service featured a personal prayer by Cardinal Jean-Guy d’Isinelle, while bishop Cédric Dubois gave the address and officiated.

Opera singer Adels Monacelli and members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performed at the wedding, and a fanfare was played by trumpeters from the band of the Household Cavalry.
As the couple departed the chapel, the steps were lined with members of the Grenadier Guards. Hereditary Duke André,is a colonel with the guards.

The newlyweds then set off on a carriage procession through Chieri, lined with cheering crowds as people waved Savoyard and Milanese flags. The Queen iscdue to host an afternoon reception in Château de Charrac, with more celebrations planned for the evening at Royal Lodge, the Savoyard family home in the great park.

Carlist victory in Battle of Coffa
Image

Queen Josefina and her Amazonian Army achieved victory at the conclusion of the two week long Battle of Coffa, marking what may be a dangerous new period in Espana as she seized control of the colonial planet.

The prelude of the conflict began with the arrival of Queen Josefina’s Milanese warship, the Tomyris and a fleet of 11 warships, and 130 fighter ships. The Planetary defensive ships when confronted by by the queen blocked her landing on the planet. The Duke of Cröy was this sent as a negotiator onto the planet’s flagship to speak with Governor Elías Graciani of Coffa. Graciani and Cröy then spoke with one another, during which Cröy offered him to stand down and swear loyalty to the rightful king and queen, to which Graciani refused. Cröy left the governor’s flagship and returned to the Tomyris.

Then the Battle of Coffa began. Starfighters, the small and incredibly agile design of the Milanese and Gênoise working to their advantage, warned the larger warships and fighter ships of the Coffa defensive fleet. However the forces of Queen Josefina were outnumbered, 4 to 1, with many more fighter ships on the side of Graciani. However, in the intital engagement, not all of these ships were used with only twelve proper warships engaging them and a few dozen smaller fighters. Soon the flagship of the Coffa fleet began to over heat and Graciani and other crew, been faced with surrender or fleeing, fled, escaping to the planetary surface and destroying the ship, perhaps as not to let it fall in the hands of Queen Josefina.

However, as Graciani’s escape pod fled towards the planet, his desertion and lack of clarity in orders made those of his stellar defense staff question his leadership, and perhaps encouraged by the increasing heavy fire from the Milanese fleet and the destruction of their flag ship, two of the ships decided to switch sides and attacked, destroying two of the warship that refused to stand down. Within 48 hours of arriving, three warships were destroyed, five having overheated and surrendered and eight captured.

Queen Josefina again attempted to have Graciani surrender and bend the knee, sending ground forces to land in Mortana, where three women, Eleanora Cirubis, Estela Yepes, Angelina Tenorio each Officers in the Queen’s Army were sent to speak with Graciani. Graciani again refused and inprisoned the three officers and ordered the fleet to attack. The queen, as the rest of the fleet started to arrive, sent down the 81st Serona Battalion that attacked the prison in Mortana, freeing the prisoners. Above the planet, the queen’s jammers kept Graciani ‘s fleet from properly coordinating resulting in the larger fleet attacking in smaller segments that the Milanese could defeat.

Four days after the battle began two of the Queen’s warships were badly damaged and forced to retreat, but by now nearly a third of the planet’s defensive forces had switched sides. On Coffa, more soldiers from the Queen’s army were landing, 528 more troops every hour as they launched attacks across the colony, battled at Arsenal’s and garrisons. By the marking of the eighth day of fighting, two thirds of Coffa’s fleet had twitched sides and the last third had been destroyed, surrendered or forcibly captured. General Elisé Soga with now a 76,000 strong army marched on Corudid. Whilst there was continuous fighting across the colony as the garrisons were besieged and Soga’s march to the capital slowed, a week later they all fell with the capture of Corudid and Graciani. Estimated death toll is 50,900 and 42,765 injured. The main cause of their victory was the switching of sides of many of the armed forces.

Queen Josefina, in the aftermath, arrived in Corudid, dressed in military uniform, speaking to the colonists of Coffa, declaring that they have been freed from the oppressive hand of the usurper king, Henrique II and have proven their loyalty to the true King and Queen of Espana and her colonies. She then placed Franco Alárcon as the new Governor of Coffa. It seems having lost the homeland, the Queen has launched a campaign on Espana’s exosolar colonies.
