Battle of Casaria!

Warships filled the skies over Casaria as Planetary Defense Forces fought invaders

The Dutch War Machine is on the move! The attacks of Josefina of Derita, commonly called La Tigresa, the Tigress, has launched the military might as the insurgent queen strikes at the research colony of Casaria in a surprise invasion. A detailed account of events is given to us from Vice Admiral Jawak who produced a conflict report for international reviewing.

Casaria, handed over to the Dutch Empire in 2089 after being a secret research base for Charlotte of Geneva for over a decade, is one of the most heavily guarded and secretive locations in the empire. Located on the edge of wild space, only authorized personnel have been allowed on the planet, with Dutch and Russen researchers having full classified range to handle projects. The conspiracy theories revolving around the colony have no end. What is not a conspiracy however, is that whatever projects operate in the colony are of great importance and utmost secrecy.

Inlaid with many defenses by Charlotte of Geneva, Casaria has its own local planetary defense force, comprised of 200,000 men and women, commanded by General Rolf Wyder. The Casarian Fleet under Vice-Admiral Zedekiah Jawak numbers at 29 starships with 18 Aruba-class starcruisers, two Wessex-class star destroyers and 9 Princess Anna-class corvettes. In attention to the Casarian Fleet, there were over 800 smaller orbital auxiliary starships to defend the planet. There is an undisclosed number of orbital railguns designed to destroy invading ore besieging forces.

These forces under the command of Jawak and Wyder have now been severely tested, with the arrival of dozens of ships from the Armada of the Tigress. Appearing out wild space, a fleet estimated to be five times larger than the Casarian Fleet, launched a long-range attack on the planet, engaging the Casarian Fleet immediately as it barreled into the star system. Jawak and his ships were forced to fall back around the research planet as they quickly became outnumbered and surrounded by the forces of the Armada. The attack, unlike the raids of the conflict thus far, was eerily reminiscent of the Carnage.

As the battle unfolded, an enemy flotilla launched a seemingly suicidal attack towards the planet, in tight formation. Jawak and his forces focused heavy fire on this flotilla. This flotilla, though taking heavy damage was able to get close to the planet before its leading ship was destroyed. Several of its smaller vessels met similar fates quickly after this, resulting in a massive debris field. As this debris field spread over the planet, it began to be caught in the gravity of the planet, creating a massive meteor show on the surface. This collateral bombardment of the surface formed Jawak to separate his focus of fire.

This suicidal flotilla, however, turns out to have been surviving a purpose, shielding a transport ship which, now in close range of the planet and shielded by the massive debris field, began attempting to land forces to the surface. This resulted in the movement of the Planetary Defense forces as a battle began en mass in the skies over Casaria. In orbit, Jawak's forces were able to severely damage the transport ship, resulting in its commanding deciding to shuttle the vessel, resulting in more chaos over the planet, and seeing more debris, putting more threat on the surface of Casaria.

On the Surface, thousands of enemy combatants landed on the surface outside of the colonial settlements. Wyder and the Casarian Defense Army quickly fell into fighting these invaders in the wilderness of the planet, over a massive multisided frontline. Back in Space, with the destruction of the their tricky flotilla, which had thus survived its purpose, the main forces of the massive enemy fleet fell back into large ranged stances millions of kilometers apart, firing from the shifting safety of hiding at the horizon points of the moons of the system's locate moons. Despite the disparity in numbers, the battle has been reduced thus far to a siege by the Armada forces.

Reinforcements are en route from the Nuyinidino Fleet under Admiral Adi Benny Agusalim and the Gulean Fleet under Commodore Candance van Veergoort to relieve the forces of Jawak from this siege of Casaria. This attack on Casaria has raised eyebrows as these reports flow in from Jawak to the military commanders throughout the other colonies. Admiral Mariah Sudjarwadi of the Suyuanese Fleet along with other commanders have moved to push back the raiding forces of the Armada, resecuring the base attack by the Armada earlier this month. The attack on Casaria stands out as it strategically seems to serve no purpose towards the Armada.

Located far from the frontlines and even further from Earth, why has the Tigress decided to attack here? The answer appears to be classified as Suyuanese Fleet officials have refused to comment of anything regarding Casaria itself. Unauthorized discussion of events on Casaria has been made a criminal offense with the punishment of life in prison. Jawak's military report to the public thus remains the only available information on the conflict on the ever secretive research planet. Admiral Sudjarwadi spoke in a brief colony wide video message assuring everyone that the Armada shall be repealed, and the enemies of the empire destroyed by the fires of the reignited Dutch Fury.

Henrietta II Bolsters Defences in Connuriste!

Empress Henrietta II noticing the lack of warships defending her closest ally's colonial holdings. Has issued personal orders to the Vice-admiral Viktoria von Edelfelt, Fleet Commander Imperial Thirteenth Fleet to immediately rendezvous with Vice-admiral Albert-Jan te Wiereke's Eleventh Fleet. Admiral Edelfelt's fleet is comprised of two HdG class super dreadnoughts HMS Duke of Winterhaven and HMS Princess Madeleine along with the Lieseltania class super-dreadnought HMS Castamere as the spearhead of the fleet of 146 warships. Vice-admiral's smaller fleet of 106 warships with only 1 HdG class the HMS Götzen and two Empress Katherine II's the HMS Azuma and the HMS Gneisenau.

The combined Atmoran-Connuriste Task Force numbers more than 327 warships—not including present Connuriste fleets—will be tasked with patrolling the frontier of Connuriste space. Empress Henrietta II has released a statement today following the mobilisation of the Thirteenth. Her Armed Forces will wholeheartedly cooperate and ensure the continued security of Connuriste colonies from the fires of war. Furthermore, the Empress has refused to comment on whether or not her Ambassador to the League should petition the League to recognise the sovereignty of the Spanish colonies.

The Supreme Royal Guard Rushes to aid the Dutch



After a period of inactivity following an increase in attacks along the edges of New English space, the Grand Duke has made yet another move, this time to aid his Dutch ally. A force consisting of 945 ships, including over twenty LX-180 Orbital Assault Ships, departed New English space silently, and without warning.

It was this group of ships that arrived in system, and moved to engage the forces of the tigress attempting to besiege the colony of Casaria, the space battle raging ferociously as Stellar Navy Ships made every effort to make an opening for the orbital assault ships, lighting up the skies as particle weaponry, mass driver rounds and antimatter detonations filled the stars. This effort eventually succeeded, and at least eight landing ships slipped through the enemy force, however two were shot down before they could make landing on the surface. However the ones that made it began the process of unloading their forces onto the battlefield

These forces began making every effort to fight their way to dutch forces defending the colony, striking with the force of a sledgehammer, using the heavy vehicles and artillery brought down with them to full effect, along with aerial cover and aerial insertions provided by LC-50 dropships, deploying reinforcements directly into the colony, then lifting off again to provide direct heavy air support to those in need of it.

With this breakthrough, the main fleet changed its tactics, performing fast moving hit and run tactics utilizing the warp drives of the ships of the fleet, jumping in, doing some damage, and then jumping back out of range again, before repeating the maneuver from a different direction. However, unlike previous combat operations, it would seem that the Grand Dukes flagship is not present, so it would seem that there some other matter elsewhere that has his focus.

Flyby's with the Flyboys

The Aellyrian Air Force preformed a flyby of a fighter jet squadron over the Aellyrian-Russen Sea today, flying mainly in international airspace, however briefly passing over into Espanian airspace for a very short period of time. This action was not announced by the Holy Emperor or the First Estate, nor have the chosen to comment on this exercise.

In other news, the First Estate has received the Holy Emperors permission to open the petition of restoring the caste system to Aellyria. All citizens of Aellyria will be of course be required to vote in the coming week as required by law. Depending on the results the caste system will either be restored or laid to rest.

The Armada retreats!

The Armada has abandoned Casaria, retreat back behind the frontlines

After a week of fighting, the bloodshed at Casaria has come to an end as the Armada of the Tigress performed yet another full scale retreat as Dutch and New English reinforcements arrived in the system. Outnumbered 10 to 1 in space, placed in a dangerous position between the Casarian fleet and Novanglo-Dutch reinforcements, and having already loss twenty-nine ships to enemy fire and overheating, the remaining hundred and sixteen ships launched a full scale retreat, scattering throughout the system in every direction as they fled, slipping past enemy combatants.

On Casaria, with fighting taking place in the wilds of the colony taking place in a mix of conventional and guérilla tactics, the situation was even more grim. Across most of the planet, as their stellar support retreated, the ground forces of the Tigress surrendered. Only one section, the
41rst Battalion did not, launching a last ditch attack on an officer’s residential settlement and spaceport. From here the 41rst Battalion was able to capture and launch six Dutch lightly armored transport starships.

This escape attempt however would be costly, for as they fought through and attempted to avoid Casarian and New English Planetary Defense and aerial combat forces , as well as the Casarian Fleet, five of the ships were destroyed. Only one was able to escape the planet and connect with the retreating fleet. This daring escape, as sensational as it was, is estimated to have only saved a few hundred people, leaving behind more than 10,000 soldiers of the Tigress to surrender on Casaria.

This full retreat as left many to think that Josefina’s time is up. The campaign on Casaria it seems served no particular goal and has now ended in a failure, forcing a retreat. Though the force at Casaria was only a mere fraction of the total Armada, many in Aranjuez believe that this shall the beginning of the end for the Tigress. It is believed that while much of the main force is falling back to Wild Space, some forces are scattering throughout the less trafficked sectors across Racraiguan, Dutch and Gênoise Space. Raids on New English and Dutch colonies have ceased entirely.

Ruination of Casaria!

The surface of Casaria has been Destroyed

Grim news arrives out of the Colony of Casaria in the wake of the retreat of the Armada's retreat as a series of massive explosions erupted across the surface of Casaria. These explosions originated in the colonial settlements and research bases across the planet, causing mass destruction, reducing most of the planet's surface to lakes and seas of molten lava, whilst setting much of the surviving wilderness of the planet on fire.

This report comes from Vice Admiral Jawak, who has stated that the sudden series of explosions was caused by the prisoners taken from the army that had landed on the planet's surface. These explosions, according to Jawak, were caused by secret bombs smuggled onto the surface. The destruction of Casaria's surface has left no survivors. The death toll is in the tens of thousands.

Despite the report coming from Jawak, some have been left asking more questions about the fate of the colony. Reportedly, following the retreat of the Armada, several transport ships left the research centers and, joining the local capital ship, whilst almost immediately the explosions below erupted. General Wyder and a significant portion of his forces, had, suddenly for an unspecified reason left the surface of the planet as well just before the attack.

The sheer size of the explosion too have lead to questions, as they are far more similar to the size and magnitude of orbital bombardment, as oppose to surface originated bombs. Here on Suyuan, an officer was arrested for sedition after he suggested that Vice Admiral Jawak himself launched an orbital bombardment campaign in order to destroy any evidence of secret projects being conducted on the planet, destroying anyone on the planet for the safety of national security.

Such talk, however, is naturally false and spoken by traitors to the glory of the Empire. The attack, whatever its origin, is obviously a form of terrorist tactics by Josefina of Derita. With Casaria left inhabitable, the Casarian Fleet and Army have ordered the movement of the forces of the Colonial Coalition forces to the Colony of Nuryinde in order to prepare to strike against the retreating Armada and liberate the Racraiguan colonies. It seems that the secrets of Casaria shall forever be lost to history.

Outrage Over Ruination of Casaria

SNSS Vindication over Casaria as Supreme Commander Overseas Investigation Personally

It had been good news on the front for most of the conflict, the push into the colonies, and now victory and mass surrender of enemy forces at Casaria, it had seemed as though the war had been going very well indeed. However that changed dramatically, as Casaria suddenly found itself consumed in fire, along with the near two hundred thousand Guardsman on the surface, the single largest loss of new English life in the war to date, and more unsettling, perhaps not even to an enemy force.

Suspicions now run high throughout most of the military, and new England society, and in some areas where military families run high, outright protests against the dutch government have broken out, calling for justice for the men and women killed at Casaria. Following this unignorable wave of outrage, the Supreme Commander has called for an immediate hault of all offensive operations, regardless of their nature. This has included the supplying of military arms, equipment and supplies to both the Genoise and Dutch forces in the conflict. This was followed by the Supreme commander arriving at Casaria personally aboard his flagship, the Vindication, along with the entirety of Battlefleet Necromunda, making it painfully clear what was to come next, the truth will come out, and those responsible would pay.

Prime Minister Pastijn orders suspension of Conflict

The States-General has begun debating the cost of the war

With international outrage and calls for an investigation in affairs, Prime Minister Pastijn has ordered the immediate suspension of hostilities with the Armada of the Tigress. Whilst officials the calls have been over the cost of the conflict, with the States-General attributing the ruination of Casaria as sign of a conflict not worth its benefits. A call has been made for peace talks to begin.

However greater news comes from Nuryinde, where Vice Admiral Jawak was discovered to have died in his quarters. The official statement has been that Jawak died of a heart attack in his sleep. Admiral Margariet Taalen from Annapoort has taken over the command of the Casarian Fleet. Taalen, an outsider to Casarian affairs, it seems will have to play diplomat amidst these events.

Ambassador Verhone in Lausanne has begun arranging meetings, formally requesting an audience with the Emperor of Connuriste. Ambassador ter Hofstee has requested a similar one with Chancellor Aurelians, and Ambassadors Lore-Laekers with the Queen of New England. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has joined the call of many to investigate the actions on Casaria, whilst The Minister of Defense has promised to investigate the reports of the late Admiral Jawak.

As Necromunda's entire Battlefleet left for Casaria, Tigress forces seized space around the Dark World

As the Grand Duke of Kennebec brought the entirety of the Battlefleet Necromunda to Casaria, a trap was sprung, as a fleet under the command of General Aitana Fassil-Cicerón seized the opportunity to seize control of the space around the famous Dark World of New English colonies. Cutting through sparsely populated Genoise and New English Space, Fassil-Cicerón and her fleet of just thirty ships arrived over the planet. Necromunda, famous for its harsh environment and even with its nickname of the Death World, has in recent years been a hub of New English colonial ship construction and agriculture, having provided supplies to New English colonies as well as to places as far away as Cinyras.

Thus It is no surprise that Fassil-Cicerón dared to capture the planet. However, whilst the Battlefleet is gone, one couldn't be said of ground forces, and with its already harsh environment, the general decided to blockade the planet. Launching millions of Genoise mini-drones, believed to be stolen from weapon facilities on Antissa during the October Mutiny, General Fassil-Cicerón has created an orbital defense array that, instead of protecting the planet, has encased in the planet in a prison' either shooting down ships attempting to leave the planet, or damaging them outright by their sheet number.

Fassil-Cicerón has also launched a low orbit bombardment campaign, which, while inflicting damage to targets, not nearly on the scale of what happened in Casaria, striking exclusively at targets believed to be military installations and agricultural centers across the planet with kinetic rounds, whilst using more pinpointed lasers to destroy surface communication as well as satellites and shipyards around the planet. No attempt however has been made to land on the planet. Instead, it appears the general is attempting to starve out the population into submission, reportedly promising supplies in exchange for their surrender.

For many in Aranjeuz, this use of stolen technology from Genoise facilities raises alarming questions and bring awareness to the dangers of space warfare. Furthermore, it appears that the Armada of the Tigress, despite being outnumbered by her appoints, is seemingly able to run around the feet of the giants of the colonial forces, striking with small fleets against planets with the potential to inflict great damage. Already nearly a half a million people have died in this brief war, what further damage could be caused? When does the game of politics begin to be outweighed by the blood of those in the field?

Necromunda Defiant!

The Planetary Orbital Defense Guns of Necromunda as they fire upon the Armada above

With the chaos ensuing over the destruction of new english ground forces at Casaria, it came as a surprise when a fleet appeared over necromunda. However, while one might expect panicand terror, the opposite happened, as the planets ground based orbital defenses opened fire, sending powerful mass driver projectiles screaming into space at just under the speed of light, with enough force to crack the hulls of even the most powerful of battleships. This, combined with fire from the defensive particle lasers of the colony, helped to minimize the damage from the bombardment.

This was followed by a complete mobilization of the planets PDF forces, the famously lethal jungle fighters of necromunda equipped with weapons made locally from small shops and smiths across the planet. It also was followed by emergency food rationing and procurement measures, including the exploitation of the planets plethora of flora and fauna as a food source, to replace the output lost in the farms destroyed in the bombardment.

There are also reports from across the sector of New English strike groups rushing into action, and making all due speed towards the besieged planet. This has included the sudden movement of forces along the edge of wildspace, leaving a force of over four hundred ships suddenly quiet and nowhere to be found, but assumed to be racing towards Necromunda will as much speed as their warp drives are capable of.

While New England may have been shocked by the events at Casaria, it has been anything but crippled, and If anything, that rage has now been given a target to vent against, one can only hope that the war will not resemble the savagry that defined the Insectoid War.

The Santo Andres Offensive

Following General Fassil-Cicerón's daring but seemingly doomed blockade of Necromunda, having lost four ships and faced with the threat of being massively outnumbered by New English reinforcements, most of fleet that had arrived around the Dark World has been ordered to retreat. In a move seen as unorthodox, when the ships pierced by Necromunda's railguns were left neutralized, the other starships under the orders of the general fire on the ships, resulting in the expansion of a deadly debris field around the planet. Immediately following, the general ordered her fleet away from the planet, leaving behind a single capital ship, the Morterero and the orbital security array trapping ships on the planet below. In a move seen as unorthodox, when the ships pierced by Necromunda's railguns were left neutralized, the other starships under

The Morterero has adopted a fast-paced irregular orbit of the planet launching a more extensive bombardment campaign, in what we have dubbed the "Suicide Circle" seemingly designed to cause as much destruction as possible and perhaps even, when it is eventually outgunned by either Necromunda's orbital defense or potentially arriving New English reinforcements to sling the ship into the surface of the planet. As General Fassil-Cicerón retreated, she did not however move to flee into wild space. Instead, she joined the movement of a larger offensive, one that has been called the Santo Andres Offensive, after the feast day of Saint Andrew. Taking place near simultaneously across a long front, seven star systems along the Genoise-New English border (four Genoise, three New English) were raided by small groups from the Armada.

These attacks, unlike the larger movements at Casaria or Necromunda were simple hit and run attacks, striking at mining facilities on moons and inhabitable planets. This Santo Andres Offensive feared continued usage of targeted kinetic bombing of these small economically valuable targets, with the Armada making no attempt to capture the area, quickly retreating. It appears that the Armada is attempting to avoid large scale civilian targets but has no problem with disrupting the capitalist ventures of mining operations, striking at the megacorporations that wield such influence over much of space due to their special deals with colonial governments.

As Genes is left to face La Tigersa seemly by themselves, and with the threat of Josefina of Derita returning to Earth, looming larger than ever before, the King has signed a decree expanding the emergency powers granted to the Homefleet in the form of the creation of a new military-political body, the Taytu. The Taytu, meaning sun, shall be headed by the Dauphine, whose family symbol is the sun.

The Taytu, as laid out by the decree, is to be comprised of six branches, National Defense, Religious Unity, Domestic Security, Foreign Affairs, National Education, and Cultural Heritage. The Taytu, as the cultural authority of Gênes, guardians of all our traditions and defenders of our home, have been granted the authority to do anything to complete their noble task of protecting the prosperity of our empire.

The creation of the Taytu however also limits the role of the monarch to that of the cultural figure head of the nation and the empire, the unifying force of all Gênoise people. However, only until the Taytu have completely their mission of securing the empire. From Taytu agents have become the knew police force in the capital city and their branch’s leader, Commandant Lielit Baslios has promised to ride the city of the criminal underworld that has existed there for a century.

Meanwhile, as head of the Taytu, the Dauphine has been given the position of title of Enderase of the Gênoise Empire. Enderase, meaning “as myself” holds an almost autocratic level of power in the name of the king and the security of the nation. The new Enderase has decided to focus her attention on the matter of the conflict with Josefina of Derita. Having seen the vast destruction caused by the conflict, the Enderase has offered to hold negotiations under the white flag at Aoede.

As one alliance ends, another begins.

Following rapidly in the footsteps of the surprising announcement that the nations formal alliance with the Dutch had been cancelled with immediate effect, the government announced their brand new formal alignment with Aravea.

The cessation of existing treaties with the Dutch was unforeseen by many, the abrupt nature of how it has unfolded proving a shock to even the small handful of politicians and analysts who felt relations with the Dutch had stagnated in recent years. The foreign minister only elaborated on the matter to reassure the public that this does not mean that Connuriste seeks any sort of hostilities towards the Dutch, only simply that the current alliance with them was ‘untenable’.

Some political commentators believe that this fallout could be in relation to the recent incidents on Casaria, the research colony formerly in the possession of the late Empress Charlotte, that had somehow found its way into Dutch and Russen hands. The colony, which had been serving as a battleground between the forces of the Tigress and the coalition, was utterly destroyed in suspicious circumstances two weeks ago. The death of Vice Admiral Jawak since has only further fuelled the beliefs held by many that the destruction of the planet is down to Dutch foul play. The ruination of Casaria shows more signs of orbital bombardment than it does surface explosions as the Dutch claim, in addition to documents relating to Casaria being classified by the Dutch. Many suspect a deliberate destruction of the colony to prevent research falling into the ‘wrong’ hands - a poll conducted last week by CBC showed that 65% of people in the country do not believe the official government story. Casaria’s nature of being related to the many secrets of scandals of Empress Charlotte only draws more attention and scrutiny to the planet.

The incident at Casaria is also believed to be an important factor in the fast-tracking of talks with Aravea. Informal discussions between high-ranking members of government had already been taking place, and formal discussions had already been scheduled, however in the past weeks the Emperor of Connuriste and the Arkhoness have discussed official terms over video conference.

Connuriste and Aravea are no strangers to co-operation, both being invested in the Sonne International Gateway along with other participating member nations. Connuriste has also agreed to partake in an international project to construct a new city in Aravea, and the trade agreement that already existed between the two nations has been used as a foundation to further increase economic ties, with even more favourable terms and benefits granted each way. Restrictions on ease of movement for citizens throughout each other’s territories have also been eased, promoting more freedom of movement between the two nations and a committee has been set up to organise cultural exchanges.

The alignment of Connuriste and Aravea has more implications than simply civic and economic, as a military defense pact has been signed, which obligates our two nations to hold biannual joint exercises. Some degree of co-operation between intelligence agencies has also been rumoured, but there has been no official communication on that particular aspect.

Intricacies of policy were finalised and formalised today between the Emperor of Connuriste and the foreign minister of Aravea, who was hosted at Lausanne Palace.

Atmora Sets Out to Strength Allied Positions!

Sayuri Miyasaki, Minister of the Realm of Foreign Affairs has recently issued a public statement pertaining to the current events happening. Minister Miyasaki has empathised the strong need for a neutral investigation into the Massacre of Casaria. Even going as far as pushing the Atmoran Ambassador to the League Sjaak Nijensteen to request that an international tribunal be formed. Stating that Atmora shall never stand for these egregious crimes against mankind. Minister Miyasaki strongly condemns the Dutch, Genoise and New English for their brutality against insurgents.

One of the first piece of legislation introduced by Minister Miyasaki to the Strategic Defence Council which will place sanctions upon SDC members for activities concerning: (1) cybersecurity, (2) natural resources projects, (3) financial institutions, (4) corruption, (5) human rights abuses, (6) evasion of sanctions, (7) and transactions with New English defence or intelligence sectors; to name a few of the sanctions being imposed. Miyasaki addressed the concerns that these sanctions could be seen as provocative. Stating that Atmora's concerns come from that New England is not a neutral nation, and if complications were to arise between the SDC and one of New England's allies. The Imperial High Command would not want to worry about the potential weaknesses within the alliance. To sway allies from being from New English companies, the Minister has announced that allied nations with Atmora will be able to purchase military equipment from Atmoran companies significantly cheaper than standard market price. Along with further Atmoran funding into respective allied arms industries.

The third thing that Minister Miyasaki has announced is Atmora is the $850 billion Colonial Development Plan (CDP) into the allied nations of Connuriste, Aravea, Vozh, Aellyria and Aradira. The CDP is an additional source of aid by the Imperial Bank of Atmora that seeks to build up allied colonies. So that allied nations who do not have the funds to develop or maintain colonies can with the help of Atmoran aid develop and create colonies that can one day compete with the Crown Jewel of Atmora; Astraeus. While Miyasaki hasn't announced any new increases to the funding for Astraeus Economic Community members, Miyasaki has stated that issue maybe addressed at the next AEC Summit in 2093.

PM Pastijn faces Critics over handling of Foreign Affairs

Prime Minister Annelijn Pastijn has come under intense criticism as the thirty year old alliance with Connuriste comes to an end alongside with the agreement to send a delegation to the Genoise planet of Aoede in order to discuss peace with Josefina of Derita, La Tigresa. Pastijn’s attitude towards the rapidly unfolding of events has been seen as too passive and weak willed, especially when compared to the extremely aggressive foreign policy of her predecessor, Michelle Wissink who won the Eacusian War and promoted Dutch Fury.

Pastijn arrived in office directly opposed to Wissink’s aggressive attitude, and many voted for her as the nation entered a period of peace. However, it has become clear to many that peace has made the Pastijn Administration soft and unprepared for conflict. This came here no more exemplified by Pastijn’s inability to crush the Tigress’forces despite greatly out matching the former Queen. Her ability as well to lose one of the empire’s longest alliances has only further shown her ineptitude for her position for many.

Tatiana Verhone, Ambassador to Connuriste & Geneva has been recalled after serving in the position for just three years. Verhone has previous faced scrutiny due to rumors of her receiving special personal gifts from Lausanne and Geneva elites, and even the Russen Chancellor, though previousl escaped any repercussions due to a late of evidence. Verhone recall however does not seem to be related to such rumors. No replacement has been made for Verhone, leaving the post vacant, a symbolic move for Dutch-Connuriste cooling relations.

As the peace talks are set to begin, the nation has been put in a foul mood this holiday season.

Peace returns over the colonies following peace talks on the Genoise planet of Aoede between the Enderase of the Genoise Empire, Queen of Espana, and Empress of the Dutch. Amongst an unprecedented level of fanfare, the three women redrew the borders of territorial space, carving out a massive new empire of colonial possessions for Josefina the Tigress. Not in attendance were representatives of Racraigua or New England, as the Queen had successfully negotiated a separate peace with King Jonatan XII and Queen Victoria. These two separate agreements oversaw the succeeding of all Racraiguan colonies and a New English star system to Josefina.

At Aoede, Josefina arrived aboard her flagship, La Indiscutible, meeting with the waiting Enderase of the Genoise Empire , along with Naudé-Ménétries. The Queen of Espana disembarked with General Paola Secada, and to the shock of all, Empress Anna Charlotte and former King Henrique II along with her ladies-in-waiting, including Countess Asbury, as well as former King Antonio and Queen Adela and their two children. No examination has been released as to why the Dutch Empress and her family were in the company of the Queen of Espana, with the Dutch Empress seeming as comfortable amongst her entourage as she might in Amsterdam.

The Enderase, Queen and Empress, and their respective companions of the admiral, general and countess quickly went to work on discussing peace talks. What followed was two weeks of negotiations between the delegations, with them meeting daily to hammer out a peace. In between these lengthy meetings the Enderase hosted lavish parties for all the guests. And while the Enderase and Empress were serious and miffed throughout them respectively, the Queen was all smiles, dancing with both former kings, and in a shocking moment even pulled the Dutch Empress into a foxtrot.

Queen Josefina is, reportedly, magnanimous in victory and swift to make friends from enemies. This was exemplified as the Aoede Convention came to an end today with a finalized peace agreement. The convention cedes 29 Genoise star systems (26 being former Spanish holdings) to Josefina, but allows Genes to maintain control over their settlements and mining operations set up by them. The Dutch agreed to cede seven stellar colonies, including Casaria, whilst maintaining the right to operate out of their military bases and patrol the space in order to protect Dutch and Spanish interests.

The agreement hands over self-governance of the colonies to Spanish control in the form of the Colonial Commissariat, and sets them as special economic zones, in order to interconnect the Genoise and Spanish economies, seemingly sacrificing political freedom for economic freedom. This however does not apply to the former Dutch, Racraiguan or New English holdings now under Spanish control. The Genoise fleets of the 29 Colonies are permitted to continue to operate in order to protect the colonies from pirates, smugglers, and other domestic commercial threats.

The convention brings the Spanish colonies into the Dutch-Genoise colonization co-operation effort. The three also sees the Genoise and Dutch governments recognize Josefina as the Queen of Espana, details the release of King Carlos III from prison, though the Grand Duchy of Milan shall remain in the hands of King Frederick II, as well as all the residential holdings of Carlos III and Carlos IV in Genes and Derita. Also agreed was the formation of the Rasdom of Kambata from 25 sparsely populated Dutch colonies to be given to Mijazzkan of Gênes on the condition of his betrothment to Adela, Princess of Asturias.

Another marriage agreement was made in which Josefina's grandson Infante Carlos to Anna Charlotte's granddaughter Princess Ludovica, alongside an agreement of Espana paying compensation to the Dutch in the form of Dutch access to the resources of seventeen colonies for the next fifty years, with a pledge to put Josefina on the throne in Espana and protect her reign. With this peace made, Queen Josefina, Empress Anna Charlotte and Enderase Catherine are set to return to Earth.

The Empress’ Fury

Anna Charlotte has returned to Earth with a vengeance

After being away from home for four years, the Empress of the Dutch as returned, not at all pleased by the shape of her empire in her absence. Arriving with the new Queen of Espana in the capital city, the Empress quickly ordered her son and regent the Prince of Orange brought before her. The forty-eight year old Prince Jacques was escorted to his mother by a group of Palace Guards and made to kneel before his mother.

Anna Charlotte, known for her passionate stances, quickly took one of fury against her son, berating him for his failure as regent and as a prince of the empire. Citing the other times she had made him regent and governor of the Dutch Easy Indies and pointing out each time he had turned tyrannical and ineffective, she declared that she had had enough of his foolishness, and that his chances of proving himself worthy of being her heir were up, and that he was a failure.

The Prince of Orange attempted to beg for forgiveness, but the Empress has been turned to iron in her voyages through space. In front of the Queen of Espana, the Empress berated the Prince for his failure in handling La Tigersa, stating that he should have easily been able to defeat her and deliver Josefina’s head on a platter, and sense he had failed at that, she considered delivering his head to Josefina instead.

However, being merciful, the Empress declared that Jacques had dishonored himself, his Empress and his nation and thus is to be stripped his his titles, of his privileges, of his right to the throne, his wealth confiscated and allowance cut off, and he is to be exiled, forever, on pain of death of ever returning to the Empire’s borders. Jacques was then quickly dragged away by armed guards from the Empress’ presence, to be sent off to the edge of civilized space.

The Empress then called for her granddaughter, Princess Juliana and her husband, Prince Christopher d’Aurelians, declaring them the new Princess and Prince of Orange, with Juliana as her heir apparent. The pair have successfully served as rulers of Dattan and over seen the reconstruction efforts of the Matadi Bay Region. This marks the first time in Dutch history where the monarch as intentionally skipped an entire generation to inherit the throne.

Jacques however was not the only royal to face the Empress’ wrath has Anna Charlotte turned her attention to her son Rafaël and the issue of Connuriste’s breaking of her alliance. Declaring that Rafaël had failed in his position, she has banned him from returning to Amsterdam upon further notice as well as cut off of his massive annual allowance, reportedly bring his personal residential projects to a halt.

Anna Charlotte has halted all trade with Connuriste, under the explanation that with the previous agreements between their nations broken by Connuriste, these agreements have to be re-negotiated. As Connuriste citizens living and working in the Empire have simultaneously had their visas expire or rejected and ordered to renew the process, with is likely to be significantly harder than it was before.

Former King Antonio has been selected by the Empress of the Dutch to serve as the new Ambassador to Connuriste. A shocking appointment given Antonio’s famously more aggressive nature compared to that of his brother Rafie or even the (probably) corrupt Verhone. Aggressive appears to be the Empress’ stance on the world stage in the coming future, with her ordering a redesign of all Dutch embassies, turning them from modernist cubic structures as they have been known into imposing fortresses in their style.

Empress Anna Charlotte has ordered an Imperial investigation into not just Vice Admiral Jawak but the entire crews of all the starships of his entire Casarian Fleet, with all being suspected of treason. The Empress has fired the Commander of the Stellar Admiralty, Admiral Dries van der Berg, replacing him with Admiral Mariah Sudjarwadi. She has appointed Sir Cahaya Makmur as Sudjarwadi’s replacement as Admiral of the Suyuanese Fleet.

That didn’t mark the end of the Empress’ purge of the weak, with her dismissing much of Prime Minister Pastijn’s cabinet, replacing the Ministers of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Defense and Infrastructure & Water Management. The new ministers respectively are Paulene Wagenmans, George Asbury, Michelle Wissink and Komar Xiasheng, with three (Wagenmans, Asbury and Xiasheng) being members of the Reginten Party while Wissink represents the Hadel party.

In the States General, the long time serving West Asbury, banished alongside the Prince of Orange, has after holding the position for over twenty years been replaced as President of the Senate by Lodewijk de Oude, grandson of former prime minister Andreas de Oude and another member of the Reginten party. Hadel party member Wiyono Xiaotong has taken over as Speaker of the House despite the Eigeelintes still holding a majority.

This, ironically, perhaps marks the beginning of an imperial mandated alliance between the royalist moderate Reginten and the war-hawk expansionists libertarian Hadel party. This a complete switch from twenty years ago when the two were bitter rivals. This will be put to the test this March as the House of Representatives will have a snap election held then. Should the Reginten and Hadel parties be further empowered by the people’s vote, further change will likely occur.

Despite all this, Pastijn has retained her position and many suspect she will seek to form a coalition government in this upcoming March. Meanwhile, Anna Charlotte has taken back the reigns of power over the empire, determined more so than ever to reign with strength.

The New Colonial Effort

It has been a sad time for New England, with the loss of a star system to the forces of the tigress, the death of hundreds of thousands of New English soldiers, and the perceived wrongdoing at Casaria have left a bad taste in the mouths of many. However, there seems to be one figure standing above all that is determined to look past this recent failure and move onward towards the future. The Grand Duke of Kennebrec and Supreme Commander during the conflict, has been working tirelessly to redirect the anger and sorrow of the people towards a positive goal, the exploration and colonization of the stars. To this end, his efforts have become a massive success, with millions of people back on the homeworld in New English territory signing up for new colonial projects out on the frontier, easily the largest such movement in the nations history.

While no new settlements have yet to be established, the corporations participating in this new movement have selected several promising candidates, however there is one worrying trend starting to take root within the populace, a distrust for those of dutch origin, a certain result of the incident at Casaria, which has already seen a stark lessoning of deliveries of New England made military equipment, and an alleged ceasing of cooperation on military projects, a clear result of the loss of trust, and there are even those calling for an end to the New Anglo-Dutch alliance, and some more extreme outliers have even called for more severe actions, but the Supreme Commander has not made any official comments regarding the alliance, so only time will tell if the agreement will survive.

This new Colonial Effort has included a massive clean up and rebuilding operation targeting worlds damaged by the conflict, particularly Necromunda, where a new magnetic trawler has been employed in an effort to clean up the debris field orbiting the planet, of which a surprising amount of progress has been made thanks to this innovation, however work on the planet itself is still expected to take some time. However the atmosphere of the colony has been surprisingly hopeful, as the people who call the Death World home, whom have proven their determination and hardiness time and again, have begun rebuilding with a sense of hope and community which seems to embody the New English attitude in this time, hopeful for what the future holds.

Holy Aellyrian Emperor renames Capital!

In a strange declaration from the Holy Emperor on his birthday, which of course was celebrated in Imperial fashion. He has decided to rename the capital city. The new name you might ask? Indriabul, seemingly after himself. This of course has been met with the rush of the local municipal government officials to go about renaming the city officially. In other news, the eldest illegitimate children of Maelyx Aeylgarn will reach the age of thirteen this year, prompting the question of what will happen to them as they near the age of adulthood, what will the lives and careers of the orphaned bastards of a passed monarch do?

Moreover, the people of Aellyria, as well as the First Estate, and the Holy Emperor have all ruled in favor of a return to the traditional Aellyrian caste system. As the poorer citizens struggle to find jobs, this will garuntee employment, food, medical and housing for the poorer citizens while also assisting industry and the Aellyrian economy grow.

People of Espana proclaim Josefina as Queen!

Today marked the end of the Gambit War (or has some have started to call it, the Tigress’ Hundred Day Campaign) and the end of the reign of Carlos IV as Prime Minister Montreal, the National Parliament, the Armed Forces, and most importantly, the people of Espana declared Josefina as their new Queen Regnant.

Josefina, although born a Russo-Deritain Princess, has lived in Espana for over thirty years and has always been popular amongst the people. Josefina has proven herself a brilliant military leader, rivaling, even outshining her brother and nephew throughout the Third Spanish-Dutch War, the Carnage and her Gambit War. And where Carlos IV and Frederica sold the Spanish colonies, Josefina has conquered a new empire of star systems under her flag.

As the Queen and a task force of her starships appeared over the various cities of Espana, there was no fear of attack, for the people of Espana knew that their true queen had come to liberate them, not seemly from the police state created by Frederica of Riessany and her puppetting of Carlos IV, but from the century of crisis that Espana has suffered throughout the 21st century. Finally Espana has a leader who can guide her into the future.

Frederica and Carlos IV too knew their time was up, and the Riessan princess attempted to flee the country with her husband and children in toe, but were stopped by Josefina’s other sons, Infante Antonio and Infante Luis alongside General Soga, second-in-command of the Queen, veteran of the Seidanese War and mentor of the Duke of Alençon. Carlos IV quickly signed his abdication.

Thankfully, Carlos III, returned home from his imprisonment in Gênes, was not given the throne. Instead it was given to Josefina, to rule as sovereign and supreme commander, as Queen in her own right by right of conquest. Carlos III has, in respect of his former position and having provided Josefina with heirs the lesser title of King consort. Queen Josefina has instructed Prime Minister Montreal to form a caretaker government while elections are set for spring of this year.

Queen Josefina has already made plans it seems to meet with various world leaders, including the Queens of Kegara and Aoga, and the head of the Cayoran Republic. She is also set to visit Derita, Connuriste, and Makonia, presumably to discuss various matters. For now however Queen Josefina, flanked by her Amazonian soldiers and guards, who won her her wars, is making a tour of Espana, met with seemingly universal cheers.

Aravea, Polonge… who will Connor II set his diplomatic sights on next?

A little over a month since the alliance between Connuriste and the Dutch broke down, the nation has again strengthened its ties with another. In December it was the Araveans, now in January it is the Polongains.

Connuriste and Polonge have long been on good terms with one another, with us enjoying strong trade ties with our neighbours to the east for some time now. In the aftermath of the diplomatic incident caused by last months affairs, Emperor Connor II and Empress Maria Christina have come to an agreement that the two nations should become closer than ever before.

Connuriste and Polonge have agreed to develop a customs union between one another, and increase the engagement between the governments in order to provide greater co-operation, particularly on economic matters. Connuriste has also welcomed a religious representative from Polonge in the form of Cardinal Valentin Csatár, who upon his arrival to the nation was received by the Emperor at Lausanne Palace in a move that illustrates the respect he has for his friends across the waters.

The terms and benefits that may arise from further co-operation down the line are merely the subject of speculation at the moment, but Maria Christina’s respect for our nation is clear, demonstrated well by her decision to have some of her children educated here.

Of course, the aftermath of the nations fallout with the Dutch still leaves many questions about how it may be resolved. The foreign minister advised us that the Emperor is in regular contact with the Dutch ambassador about how best the situation can be moved forward, and reassured Dutch citizens in the country that Connuriste still had no plans to cancel or expire all current visas at the moment. Many believe that further diplomatic developments are just over the horizon – especially with the Tigress due to visit Lausanne soon - and we here at CBC will bring you them the moment they happen.

In the wake of the Gambit War, Pontiperre Mining, which previously had a monopoly over stellar mining in much of the exosolar colonies, has suffered a massive hit in losses after dozens of mining operation centers were destroyed during the fighting by Queen Josefina of Espana’s forces. So much so, it seems Silvain Pontiperre has been forced to give in and throw in the towel in his great rivalry with Maud Verga, founder of T.C.G, Hermaion, H.D.E and Verga Studios, as well as controlling shareholder in a number of other companies.

Added to that list now is Pontiperre Mining as Verga forms yet another new company, Verga Galactic Industries, specializing in stellar mining operations and construction of colonies. A business quite vital in the aftermath of the brief by damaging war as dozens of planet face reconstruction after battles, raids and assault. The move is quite on brand for Verga, who has gain fame in Selesburge for her cut throat business practice and monopolizing practices, especially in her infamous forming of flower kingdoms, states effectively control by her corporations.

With the acquiring of Pontiperre Mining, Verga now has the rights to mining the largest swath of territories of any company.

Lysithea van Hresvelg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Colonial Affairs have announced that her ministry the Department of Colonial Affairs will be made defunct. As the Colonial Office has addressed the issue of who are the colonies, colonies of? For the in the eyes of the Empress and the Prime Minister, the colonies are no longer colonies of the Atmoran Confederation. For the Confederation was dissolved in 2082, with the Third Atmoran Empire as its successor. The Conservatives and Volks Belang have argued that the colonies are no longer colonies of the Atmoran Empire, for the Second Empire ended when Henrietta II reunified the Atmorans back into an Empire, the Third Empire.

Unlike the First and Second Empire, the Third Empire will not be structured into Dominions, Colonies, Protectorates and territories. For the Third Empire is not made up of various ethnic nation-states, nee the Third Empire is only made up of Atmorans. It precisely for this region that the administrative divisions of the Third Empire will not be based upon the First or Second Empires. But a mixture of the Confederation's and the Empire's past structure. The Empire shall be restructured into 27 states (Staten) administered by a Governor; states will be further divided into Provinces (Provinciën), Regions (Gewesten), and Districts (Gouwen). States can further lay claim to uninhabited or nearby celestial objects as State Territories (Staatslanden) who shall be administered by an Administrator (Administrateur). The smallest inhabited colonies with a population less than 150k people are to be organised into Imperial Territories or simply territories (Rijkslanden of Landen) administrated by a High Commissioner (Hoge Commissarissen); further divided into smaller regions and districts.

Provinces will be administrated by Lieutenant Governors (Luitenant-gouverneurs), Regions do not have a separate elected/appointed official in running the regions, Districts will be administrated and controlled by Lord-Lieutenants (Stadhouders).

Lysithea van Hresvelg will be appointed as the Minister of the Interior (Rijksminister van Binnenlandse Zaken), marking the second time in Atmoran history that the portfolio of Minister of Colonial Affairs has been abolished. With the first time being the end of the First Atmoran Empire and the loss of Atmora's last remaining colonies of the Vosha Protectorate in 1913, and Beliany (South Gallia) in 1813.

[Aellyria]

Holy Emperor opens Capital

In a curious turn of Holy Policy, the Holy Emperor has opened the capital of Aellyria, Indriabul, to foreign residency. It will be the only part of the Holy Empire that will be allowing foreigners however, as many of the nations anti tourism policies are still in place. The Holy Emperor believes this to be the first step into socializing the Holy Empire to foreigners. Of course these foreign residencies will only be for a ninety day period, which will have to be renewed after every period, while in possession of these foreign residency cards, or FRC's the residents will be able to live and work within Indriabul, and will have similar rights to that of an everyday citizen. However they will also be excluded from many Aellyrian rights, such as political office, participation in the caste system, and of course the acquisition of land and title.

In other news, progress is racing on the agropolis and the project will soon begin to start producing one percent of its estimated eventually crop yield. This along with the swell in travel to the colonies will hopefully boost Aellyrias economy to the heights it could achieve.

Treaty of Jerez de la Frontera

Queen Josefina has further expanded her stellar empire as she signed the Treaty of Jerez de la Frontera alongside her nephew and niece, the Chancellor of the Russen Empire and Queen of Makonia. The treaty grows the stellar holdings of Espana with the wild space colonies of the Russen Empire ceded to Espana as a gift to Queen Josefina and as part of her inheritance as an imperial Grand Duchess of Russlande, whilst creating the Makonian Protectorate Colonies comprised of Makonia's claimed holdings and outposts agreeing to become subject to the military protection of the stellar Armada.

In exchange Espana has promised to have its Department of Scientific Advancement to work in close tandem with the Russen state astro-technology and space exploration corporation, Aurocosmos, as well as aid in investment in the Makonian economic, colonial and defense capabilities as well as the providing of Spanish made arms, vessels, and electronic devices to both Russlande and Makonia. This also sees the exchange of 322 billion NSD from Espana to Makonia and the granting of the Dukedoms of Averyo and Liñares to the Queen of Makonia and Russen Chancellor respectively.

The formation of the Makonian Protectorate Colonies creates a unique astropolitical situation as whilst the colonies and outposts themselves shall be under the autonomous control of Makonian appointed representatives and governorates, as well as its economic development, legal and foreign relations systems, and forms a customs union with the Spanish colonies, but surrenders its defense policy and security administration to the forces of the Stellar Armada and shall be defended from attack by Spanish Forces and allows Spanish colonization. The Wild Space outposts have been placed under the command of the central government.

This treaty seems to fall into alignment with Queen Josefina's inclusive policies for the Commonwealth Colonies, allowing for the allowance of special administration zones and encouraging interconnectivity with colonists. This is indicative of her agreement with the Genoise colonists and the granting of mining rights on several gas giants to Mwatabu Helion Co., a company based in the Aukusa Bay Area. Critics in Espana have pointed out the treaty, whilst expanding the stellar holdings, it heavily ties the authority there to Queen Josefina and the military to a level not seen since the dictatorships of Ellenin and Fuerte.
