Amusing, isn't it, that while Maria is afraid of the violence of a few nobles, she is willing to ignore the savagery of her own people and refuses to protect the public in the slightest. "I'm not sure," Elosqir said before pausing. "What do you think would fit my voice? Anything you want to hear sang that I might know?"

Though freedom and order have to be balanced as to not take away the inherit human dignity of the citizenry. As for nobles and warriors it is true that nobles are soldiers but they must abide by not only earthly rulers but their Heavenly ruler as well. If a higher up orders the men to commit an atrocity it is the nobles duty to halt the atrocity from happening." Frederick said passionately but his stutter took away from the impact slightly.

In Finium, there was absolute delineation between freedom and liberty. Freedom was autonomy, the vulgar fantasies of the common man in practice, but liberty, liberty was different. Liberty meant the ascendancy of the law and autonomy within the bounds of the law. When someone advocated for freedom, it meant nothing more that the destruction of all humanity holds dear, but utter the word liberty and it means the more perfect society.

Of course, in Finium, one moved through the ranks by manipulation and the disregard for mercy--a higher up was significantly more likely to commit an atrocity than his inferiors and that is what made him more powerful. Ambition was the law of land, but this was Andrea's own business, no need for outsiders to become disillusioned with the perfect order of Finium merely because of the blood spilled in its creation.

"The protection of the weak is surely the duty of the Clans," Maria replied. "Our laws ensure that a government cannot override the will of the people through brute force alone; they mean that the people are able to challenge the King and the nobility."

What was happening now, however, was going to be a challenge to the King completely. Elosqir entangled himself from Mewan's embrace and approached the stage, jumping over tables on his way. He lifted the drum kit onto his chest and strapped it on. He selected a song, and placed the selection on playing the drum track as well as the vocal part.
As the song began, it quickly became clear that Elosqir knew it very well. His drum beats were in time, and he began to sing. His deep, melodious voice resonated through the room, however it rose very well to meet even the highest notes. During a piano interlude, he swung onto a roof beam and from that part on was performing his piece horizontally. His voice rose an he finished to a round of applause, before he swung down from the beam and rose his hands to the cheering patrons, before sitting beside Mewan again.
