Theme (from 1:33 to 2:13), played on broadcast and in the arena between entries
As WorldVision fans from near and far filtered in to the Muhlfeld Arena, the pre-show music played softly in the background. Some fans had arrived earlier and had the time to take in all or much of what Müllhipu had to offer, while others had just arrived and only just dropped their baggage off at their hotel room before arriving at the arena. No matter how long they had spent in the city, however, everyone looked forward to the spectacle that they had come for.
About three minutes before the contest was to begin, a massive instrumental ensemble was wheeled onto the stage from both sides and began to play a beautiful, dramatic tune to signal that the contest was about to begin.
The instruments and instrumentalists are wheeled out, and the lights brighten and focus on the projecting platform. Kentahashi steps onto the platform in a casual dress shirt. Part of a duo from Tödlichebujoku's WV31 entry "Perfect Good Time", he's no stranger to the WorldVision stage. Meanwhile Kukka Flater, in a flowing golden dress, enters the stage, along with a retinue of dancers dressed in semiformal party attire in shades of gold and silver. Kukka is a renowned singer raised in Müllhipu and primarily known for her party songs in movies- both older traditional songs and modern electronic ones. Her charisma has attracted a legion of fans, many of whom are in the audience and simply can't wait to see her performance.
Kentahashi
Kukka Flater
As the music begins, Kenta starts the song
Taste the Cream of the Crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
The spotlights shift to Kukka, who is reclining on some dancers
I've heard the crowd all around me
I've felt shivers down my spine
I've stared forwards, feeling breathless
I've been shocked out of my mind
She stands up, moving to the beat and surrounded by dancing revellers
And now I'm more than glad to see you
It's gonna be simply sublime
So I can't stop dancing in Müllhipu
And we won't keep track of time
The dancers slow down dramatically, Kenta walks to the stage, and the two singers circle each other
Lovers, buyers, tricks from 'round the world
We've got the vibe that you're looking for
The dancers return to their normal speed, and Kenta joins them
And we can't stop dancing in Müllhipu
We'll forget to tell the time
So you won't stop dancing in Müllhipu
You'll find it simply is sublime
Oh we can't stop dancing in Müllhipu
We'll forget to tell the time
Yeah, you won't stop dancing in Müllhipu
You'll find it truly is sublime
Kenta switches places with Kukka, who starts a synchronized dance with the dancers. The lights flicker between normal light and blacklight, and revealing flourescent paint on the dancers and singers for a split second at a time
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
The lights completely become blacklight, with Kenta standing, painted in blue patterns and the others in various colors
See the arena, all around
Doing your best to stay sitting down
From Titaniumland to the GBK
Ekoz, Polkopia and Kishrael
Cute boy bands from Yttribia
Folks from Electrum and Sumaltheria
Elejamie, Talvezout and Teague
Nobre, Normandy and the Pracib
The lights return to normal, and Kukka returns to the front
We're dancing in style
Feet stepping for miles
Neon lights and dazzling heights
- Give the photo guys a little break.
Everyone pauses and little sparks shoot out around the stage, illuminated by a quick bright flash.
Isn't that right?
No other way than a blacklight
Hope you can keep it in
'Cause believe me, it's gettin' real tight
The lights dim and Kukka reclines on several dancers again, looking as if she is about to faint
Destroy people's lives if you think it'll help
You might go to hell, oh whoa whoa whoa whoa
But we're not obsessed with what you believe
Breathe a sigh of relief, oh oh oh oh oh oh
Kenta jumps up and down as he raps
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
Taste the cream of the crop
All action pauses for a moment as Kukka shouts out
WorldVision and Kenta!
Everyone ready?
The lights brighten and everyone begins dancing, with Kukka keeping her dancing down to focus on her vocals. Led by her, they parade down to the platform where she stays, and continue down the other walkway to the stage until the song ends
And we can't stop dancing in Müllhipu
We'll forget to tell the time
So you won't stop dancing in Müllhipu
You'll find it simply is sublime
Oh we can't stop dancing in Müllhipu
We'll forget to tell the time
Yeah, you won't stop dancing in Müllhipu
You'll find it truly is sublime!
A massive set of sparks shoots out from around the stage, and everyone bows to the roaring applause of the audience
"Kiitos everyone!" the two shout, as the dancers file off the stage.
"Thank you." Jalo Böttcher steps onto the stage as Kukka and Kenta turn to him. They hug and the two singers leave the stage.
"Anyway, welcome to the 36th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest! And here's our co-host, Helmi Tonakai!"
Helmi (in this dress) navigates her way up the platform to the stage to join him.
"Hello! What an opening act! Kukka Flater and Kentahashi, who would have thought?" A little cheer rises from the audience at her query.
Jalo continues, smiling at the audience's response. "I know, right? Well here we are in the magical land of Tödlichebujoku, where the men are bi, the women are bi, and the traditionalists are homosexual." He pauses. "Oh, I forgot about the children. The children... now they fly."
Helmi laughs, and then begins speaking before Jalo gets any more off topic. "On little airbrooms. But back to WorldVision. We're here to see and listen, to experience, the work of some of the best minds and bodies the universe-world has to offer- in short, the Cream of the Crop."
Jalo speaks up. "Yup, but one entry will win. Which one? It's up to you."
"So what are we waiting for?" Helmi grins at the audience. "Let's start... now."
A massive cheer erupts from the audience, and the two bow, then walk off the stage together. Preparation for the first act begins.
