Haha totally! That's why I wait to read them. I just am a really sensitive person, and a writer first and foremost so I'm fine with constructive criticism but so many people are here are just mean, a lesson I learned the hard way.

Even if someone only tolerates Euro-trash it's still like "ouch, that's harsh" but hey, I'm trying. Also most people I've enjoyed your songs so far, so good job!

Totally get you. I'm really into indie/surf/garage rock myself but it's not exactly WorldVision-y so I tend to choose something more pop-y for WV.

I don't believe I've actually chosen a "pop" song for WV, seeing as I've mainly stuck to the aforementioned genres you've said. I mean, is it going to hurt how many votes I get? Most likely, yeah. But as long as I introduce the contest a new song, and hopefully a new band in the end. :)

I generally like pop, but most of what I try to do here is find a middle ground between what I listen to and what I would consider more worldvision-sounding. For my next one, I was thinking of doing pure teen-pop, but I would would love to do something girl-grunge/girl post-grunge, my favorite genre(s). I did a Garbage song for my first edition and didn't do too bad either. We'll see.

I was wondering: For a puppet nation, could I get away with submitting what's essentially a melody?

I did that last time (with EDO), so it's permissible, I guess. Though, might I suggest you add timing tags like 0:23, so that we can get an idea for when the verse starts.

Though you still have to write lyrics. AFAIK there have been at least two occasions where countries got away with pure instrumentals, though I'm not sure whether it's still against the rules...

Alright then. I've got some good ideas for the next contest now. I also want to apologize in advance for the block of text that my entry is gonna be.

I know it's a long way off, but I was thinking, for the 40th edition there should be a Congratulations: 40th Anniversary show as well as the contest with previous winners battling it out?

The songs could be shortlisted during the 39th, so it would be easy and wouldn't interfere with any song-writing or bids etc. Just a suggestion, but I think it'd be pretty cool to commemorate 40 editions.

Would the previous winners be in a contest alongside the regular WV show or replacing it?
Also, many of the previous winners are CTE'd or inactive, so that would be a problem, unless the WV Committee nation posts for them or posts everything.

Well, winners and/or well known or remembered songs. And WVC would post all entries I presume once they'd be decided.

It's just a suggestion to spice WorldVision up, and yeah it would run alongside regular WV. It would be a committee organised event possibly? I literally just thought of the idea after reading that the UK are doing something for the 60th Eurovision and thought it'd be good fun?

EDIT: or a nation bids to host the 40th anniversary and works alongside WVC posting the entries, I'm not sure if that would be too much work, but it'd be decent fun.

EDIT AGAIN: Or perhaps the limit the list of potential winners/well known entries from WV30+.

Indeed. Speaking of that, would a player who does this in the future be noted for plagiarizing 4'33" or another silent song?

Actually that was one of the "pure instrumentals" I was talking about, but... you're right. I just realized.

Previous winners? So does that mean some nations get to send multiple entries while others send none? (no offense of course)
I'd rather have something with the exact same format as Worldvision, except the entries are those that the participant have previously entered (though... if that was the case, would I be allowed to send a song from back when I was Mediterra?)

Tod, please can you change my "21-38" commentary thing to "21-40", since I've updated it to include the Wazek and Pracib entries. If there are any more entries in the next... less than two days... I'll do some commentary for them, but in a new post.

I edited the post to winner/well known entries, I think voting should like host voting rather than usual, just because there will be the 40th contest running also, but yeah.
