The port? Yeah, it's in an area that has no formal government at all, and has descended into control by warlords and crime syndicates. The port of Nasdheli has been the sight of running gun battles between the warlords and criminal syndicates. The battles themselves rarely escalate to endanger the majority of Nasdheli as the port is pretty much the only source of trade and economic growth in the region.

I might be interested in this, I once tried to join the old Transversal Red Cross, but it was dead by the time I got there. I could probably send a couple of ships from my fleet to assist. I'm specifically thinking of the U-753 Horlovks freighter, to carry supplies. I have a hospital ship, the U-782 Sokal, but she is more of a coastal vessel.

Yeah, that's the place. What do you think, separate thread right? I'll be glad to have you in that RP as well Ukraine. Military escorts are technically not a part of the Purple Cross. Peacekeeper deployments are separate. So your hospital ship can technically be a part of Purple Cross operations, but other warships would be up to the one of two things. In an ideal setting, locals would provide escorts. In this situation, the government can't provide escorts. So now we can bring in peacekeepers and naval escorts.

I know, that's kind of a lot said that doesn't apply in this situation. It's just so nobody confuses the OPC for a military front.

It should be interesting interacting at this shantytown with no government. Its got a good twist to it.

Very interesting. And yes, we should keep military seperate, unless it's such a wartorn nation that we need to defend our camps. If this happens, then de jure governments in the revion or conflict must agree to let us enter with troops to defend ourselves. What do you reckon?

I just didn't want to take his anti-piracy thread and make it into a humanitarian mission. But it is all pretty well entwined. Okay, we can do it in that thread... At least for starters. It's just something to consider, two threads wouldn't be so bad. Especially if we start to bring in more RPers for the humanitarian mission, like these two newcomers... Welcome by the way! I hope you both joined wanting to RP! A quick summary of the mission is up there... It's a spin off of an anti-piracy RP.

So would millitary transports be excluded then? Both the ships would be unarmed merchant ships that just happened to belong to the navy. My hospital ship probably can't sail outside the Black Sea, but the freighter might be good for delivering humanitarian aid cargo.

The transports are part of logistics. There are bound to be various military transports involved. Just like there are all sorts of military assets involved behind the scenes. It's just something we have to define as separate from the OPC. For example, one of the new nations wanted to add a group of soldiers for peacekeeping. I didn't add them to the roster because security is separate from OPC personnel. At each location, we will determine security and logistics as separate issues from OPC personnel. If possible, we'd use local security.

You can still RP with us if you want. The units are around, just not technically a part of the OPC. And especially with this pirate scenario, you're already there. This will be the kind of scenario where we bring all sorts of security and military forces, since its a dangerous area.

You'd have to think... The doctors and staff who sign up for the OPC ICly are some serious adventurers...

Perhaps a search and rescue mission... with a twist.

A large civilian-owned submarine takes damage and sinks to the seafloor, having time only to transmit an SOS. Basically, we try to find it and any survivors before their supplies run out.

Signups have been updated. There was a cap for 200 million set for donations awhile ago. The only issue with that RP idea is that we don't have submersibles. We could buy them with our funds, but it almost wouldn't make sense for us to plan for submarine use in the first place. We're also not going to buy submarines just after the disaster happens to try to rush them into use. It's a creative idea, but I don't think it has staying power.

Newcomers, do you have any ideas? I can come up with one, but I want to encourage everyone else first.

Actually, I won't cop out. Let me put an idea up as well. I'll try to be as creative as the first idea. Let's say there is a mine collapse, instead of a submarine. We'd probably still have to buy some supplies, but it would be more feasible. Then besides the mine collapse itself, we can have it in a third world country that has other needs and invites us in. That way we can run our full spectrum of operations.

I'd be more than up for other ideas as well.

I'm a third world nation myself, so anything pretty much can happen with me. Storms, disease or crop failure is the most likely with me as we don't really have any mining operations, then again I do have some vast caverns on one of my islands so it's possible for me to stage a mining disaster. Also I didn't realize you used full nation titles on the members list so if you want to update me as The United Island States of AHSCA I'd appreciate it.

Do you want us to do an RP with your nation? It could be fun. Hopefully it could bring new members or bring our RPers back into the fold. Since it's your nation, you can come up with the scenario. All your ideas could work, but I'm not one to decide on your nation's events. I'm excited to have made contact with a third world nation. I've been looking to set something up long term. And I'll update the nation title.
