The Alpine Islands will be hosting an International Summit on Women's Rights Conference in its mountainous region and island of Rastira (prounounced like it reads, Ras-tear-ee-uh) within the Alpine Island chain. The island of Rastira is known for its primarily inhospitable terrain and climate except for the protected Royal Mountain Range of the island which is wholly owned by the Royal Family including a hotel complex outside of a small quaint European style village.
The hotel complex is full service and features two indoor heated swimming pools as well as an outdoor season swimming pool that is heated by geothermal springs in the Winter time and can be accessed by swimming to it from the indoor pool. Also in the hotel complex is a gym/fitness center able to accomodate twenty five hundred people at one time. The hotel complex is unique in that all the rooms have balcony's yet none of them overlap another room's balcony. They are spaced out and under normal luxury hotel standards, the rooms would be considered luxury penthouses, each of which have an indoor small size pool with waterfall that wraps around the room's bed. Water is a central part of life in the Alpine Islands and as such it plays a pivotal role in the design and optimum functionality of the rooms within the hotels on the island. So much so does it play a role, that all the rooms in the hotel include a complete flowing waterfall system into a plunge pool that connects to the wrap-around pool that encircles the bed within the rooms. In fact, the only way to get to the bed is to make yourself a bridge out of some imported and finished planks or to toughen it out and wade across the "river" (pool) and to the bed.
The Conference being held at this hotel is centered around the important topic of Women's Rights. Women's Rights in this world are often overlooked which is ultimately detrimental to the millions of women in this world. Because this deals with Women's Rights and the host country believes the best people to handle gender specific rights are those targeted, this conference will only be open to female delegates. The topics to be discussed and highlighted during the conference are:
-Gender Relations
-Rape & Preventing Rape during War
-Violence against Women: Reversing the trend
-Women in Leadership: Promoting it
-Feminism
-Women & Islam
-The Role of Women in War
These are the topics that have been selected for discussion during the conference. All nations are invited, however those who intentionally abuse, degrade, mistreat or otherwise disrespect women in a menacing or malicious way will not be allowed at this Conference.
This Conference will be taking place in two days time on Saturday Night of January 9, 2010.
