BREAKING NEWS

News Anchor:
Hello, this is Allan Salence at the Evoinian National Television Corperations' Main Studio in Gridanko here with an amazing piece of breaking news. It appears this hour that the local coalition between The Neo-Renaultist Party and The Communitarian Party has collasped in the wake of what many commentators assumed would be a simply passed vote for this long-standing coalition.

During the preceedings of a vote on a bill which was aimed towards improving the capabilities of Evoinia's defence ministry by providing funds to a proposed joint-project with neighbouring Kritian. The nature of this project has been deemed classified and has only been discussed during In Camera portions of debate between members of the Gridanko Soviet. In a stunning shift, the Communitarian Party shifted it's vote against it's long time ally and sought to stand with both the Nexus Democratic Front and the New Nexus Coalition in their efforts to stop the propsed bill. As this bill was counted as a bugetary item of the Soviet, by normal parlance, it was thus equally seen as a matter of confidence in the government.

Leading the vote, National Leader of the Communitarian Party Stuart McSaren, said this in the Soviet just moments ago:
Much has been said of this proposed funding agreement with Kritian and the supposed sub-projects there within. This had been said to be an effort to empower ourselves to provide for the defense of the entire Commonwealth! Yet, in truth it appears there are dark... dark dealings afoot in our inter-Commonwealth relations in these times and a near-insane willingness to move forward on matters at the behest of the Regional Goverment even if there is great cost to our nation and our beliefs as a people. There for, I cannot support this bill and cannot inherent the stain on which it would bring upon our people.

The vote now signals the fall of Commisar Hadrian Renault and Vice-Commisar Sulivan Mirada's government in Evoinia and brings about questions towards the stability of the Regional Government as well, due to the similar composition of the parties in the Grand Soviet. However, in this realm there is greater risk for Renault as per the status of the Communitarian Party as the Official Opposition of the Grand Soviet. Will this national vote and the crumbling of their coalition government in Evoinia signal the end of the regional party's willingness to support the Renaultists and not act as an active opposition?

National Opposition Leader and Leader of the Nexus Democratic Front, Carol Trand had this to say:
We congratulate our colleagues of the CLE for standing up for the people of Evoinia and ending their cow-towing to external, negative interests. For while the NDF and the other opposition parties support the Commonwealth and all peoples within it, we cannot allow national interest to be entirely co-opted and for our beliefs to be entirely trampled upon.

Meanwhile, Vice-Commisar and Leader of the Nation, Sulivan Mirada, who was in the regional capital on business, however had not even heard of the results of the vote at the time when ENTC's reporters caught up with him. Having just left a private meeting with Commisar Hadrian Renault, Mirada was utterly shocked. Upon collecting himself, this is what he had to say:
I-I am, as you must clearly, suprised by the outcome of this vote and the evident betrayal of the CPE of the principles of the people of Evoinia. Before any further statements can be made here, however, I would like to consult with Commisar Renault and will consider recommending to him the disolution of the government to proceed with an election for members of the Soviet of Gridanko.

We are currently waiting for confirmation of the result of this meeting as we speak. Also, questions are buzzing as to what influenced this sudden shift in policy for the Communitarian Party. Currently, there is much speculation regarding the role of Lars Caradine, Leader of the Commonwealth Communtarian Party. For the past three years, he has been granted the role of 'Ambassador to the World Assembly' and 'Head of the Diplomatic Relations Department' in large part due to his willingness to not act against Renault in the Grand Soviet, as well as for brokering talks which led to the formation of the national coalition in Evoinia. He too was in the regional capital and meeting with both Renault and Mirada early yesterday, but soon left the country on diplomatic business abroad.
During transit, the Ambassador could not be reached for comment, however the Deputy of his office and member of the Neo-Renaultist Party, said that there had been no discussion on the matters in 'national Evoinia' within the Office of the Head of the Commonwealth, the Department of Diplomatic Relations and even his own party. The deputy then did affirm that Ambassador Caradine was in no way interfering or involved with national politics.

Contrary to these claims, at this hour there ar unconfirmed reports that Ambassador Caradine passed along word of a 'highly disruptive plan which has infiltrated the minds of many in the Commonwealth government'. Again, spokesman for both Caradine and McSaren deny these claims.

So then, all we can do is await word from Hadrian Renault on if he will drop the writ and bring an election down upon his own allies nationally.
The times we live in, fellow Evoinians, have just gotten interesting.

This has been, Allan Salence at the ENTC's Main Studio in Gridanko. We now return you to your scheduled programming.

((OOC: Nations are invited to make comment on this much of the post, further will appear later in a follow up post.))
