Victor Flavius, chief Treasury accountant, has been tried and convicted of usury, extortion, embezzlement of public funds, and several other financial crimes while acting in his official capacity.
He has been stripped of Vorindun citizenship, fined his entire fortune (which is commonplace in Vorindun sentences), and forbidden fire, water, food, and shelter for a distance of 600 miles in all directions from the capital city of Vorindeum. Such sentences are normal in a society where prisons don't exist and even capital punishment is rare. Exile and fines are usually preferred to execution and imprisonment.
