NS Living History Festival (sign-up thread for exhibitors)

[The High Tatras]

The basic concept is that this would be some kind of international event in which various countries would have exhibits displaying a recreation of life during some period in their nation's past. It is open to all techs, but the exhibits must be at a lower tech level than the nation's current tech level. For example, if your nation is MT, your exhibit could probably portray anything from the dawn of recorded history until around the two World Wars of the 20th century (or their equivalent in your canon). Each participant will construct a "village" or "settlement" with up to 10 buildings or exhibits. You can make a schedule for various demonstrations in your "village" or "settlement". Each nation will also have a restaurant or tavern at a food court selling their traditional and/ or ethnic cuisine.

Buildings/ exhibits in "village" or "settlement" (up to 10 permitted): A Socialist Age Welfare Office, A Socialist Age Public Space Observatory , A Socialist Age history museum, A Socialist Age Rocket Launchpad A Socialist Age nature reserve, A Socialist Age Police Office, A Socialist Age factory, A Socialist Age Village Square, A Socialist Age Social Security Office, A Socialist Age Wealthy House ( Heavily Fortified, as raids against the wealthy were common at this time.)

Schedule for demonstrations (time and location within "village" or "settlement"): Morning, a common Socialist Age Nazi sympathizer rally, and an interactive demonstration to show how Greater Soviet Ukrainians got their social security benefits Noon, a mock-up rocket launch ( The Greater Soviet Ukraine Space Station was still in construction) Afternoon, a pow wow done By the Lesser Soviet Ukrainians ( an ethnic minority group), and a full mobilization of Greater Soviet Ukraine's Armed Forces for a socialist themed military parade,Evening, the space observatory opens for a glance at the GSUSP, and a common raid by the police on the wealthy home.

Time period in your nation's past being portrayed: “Age of Enlightenment/ Reason” (17th century)

Buildings/ exhibits in "village" or "settlement" (up to 10 permitted): A typical “zemlyanka” (a type of half dugout shelter, somewhat between a sod house and a log cabin) type residence, a life size working replica of an early public water supply and irrigation network, an optical telegraph tower, a blacksmith’s shop, a one-room schoolhouse, a “Unity of the Brethren” church in traditional wood vernacular architecture, a village trading post, equestrian facilities, an arena/ stage, and a black powder firing range.

9:00 AM- A discussion about the founding of The High Tatras during the mid-15th century and especially the radical religious and political ideas held by the early settlers and their attempts to create a utopian egalitarian society, as well as conflicts with various Roman Catholic crusader orders. This will be held at the church.

10:00 AM- A szabla (a curved single-edged saber) swordsmanship demonstration in the arena/ stage and a samopal (an arquebus, especially a cheaply and crudely homemade one) drill demonstration at the firing range.

11:00 AM- A discussion about school life and the establishment and early years of compulsory education in The High Tatras. This will be held in the schoolhouse.

12:00 Noon- Food court opens.

1:00 PM- Horsemanship demonstration at the equestrian facilities.

2:00 PM- Blacksmithing demonstration at the blacksmith’s shop.

5:00 PM- Folk music and dance presentation at the arena/ stage.

All day- Guided tours of the zemlyanka, public water supply and irrigation network, optical telegraph tower, and village trading post.

Every station is run by Rhodeve historical actors. The Rhodeve "village" will very happily accommodate kids!
9:00am: Intro to Native Life- Native Tents; Rhodevan Natives will teach about the native religion and the invention of ancient medicines, with demonstration. Kids will be allowed to create their own sniffle-be-gone tea.

10:00am: Rhodeve Revolution Bootcamp- Rhodeve Military Academy; Historians and Military officials will demonstrate the Rhodeve hand-to-hand combat used during the Rhodeve Revolution, as well as take anyone up for it around the 20 minutes boot camp. With a rock-wall, fire-making station and intro to Rhodeve hand-to-hand combat (18+). Kids will be allowed to make smoke signals, using steam.

11:00: Museum Tour- Small Museum; Walk around the museum that features real swords, guns and staffs, used during the Rhodeve Revolution. Also see/hear the countless paintings and songs written during this time of Cultural Prosperity. Kids will be allowed to complete colour-in-the picture books if they choose not to tour.

12:00: Lunch Time!- Meal Pavilion; Meal Pavilion opens and people may come and enjoy Rhodeve delicacies. Everything is in a buffet style.Pavilion will remain open for the rest of the day

1:00: Fishing with the Brits- British Fishing Village; Come and learn the unique style of fishing in Rhodevus. Watch the masters build a fishing rod from a full log and piece of rope. Kids will be allowed to make their own fishing rods to take home (complete with dull plastic hook and little plastic fish!)

2:00: The Great Trade- French Fur Trade Outpost; Come watch how a French Rhodeve is able to track and catch animals (animal friendly). He will later demonstrate how to colour the fur, so that it looks red, blue or yellow, matching the colours of the Rhodeve flag. Kids will be allowed to watch the show.

3:00: Build Me Something!- Rhodeve Barracks; Walk around the barracks and watch wonderful demonstrations. Watch a demonstration on how to design throwing knives. Watch a demonstration of mounted v. unmounted combat. Watch a demonstration on Women's roles in the army during this time.

4:00: The final Showdown- Native Tents; Watch the simplified version of la hausse fidèle, the famous Rhodeve romantic musical about the colonization by the Native Rhodevans as well as the French and British.

5:00: All Open- Everywhere; all stations will be open for people to see what they have missed.

7:00: Exhibits closed for the night

Salmon, Trout, Chicken and Lamb all in freshly made fruit sauces, berry-sauces or oyster sauces. Rhodeve-grown strawberries, blueberries and apples. Bread and pasta made from 100% Rhodeve grown Wheat and Barley, Maple Syrup Fondue (a Classic Rhodeve desert that is always a crowd favourite!) Wash it all down with Mint tea and Coffee (Juice can be provided for kids)

My assumption was that a number of visitors from various nations would go to other nation's "village" or "settlement" and attend the demonstrations. Perhaps I should make a visitor application form.

Perhaps we should run this as a nonprofit in an F&NI thread or a GE&T thread with a sign-up sheet for tour groups. Then we can RP the tours in an IC thread in NS.

Maybe we should just all create our own separate living history museums with no limits or rules on the number of buildings or other stuff.
