Viridisolum wrote:Chaont Rakas was weakened but triumphant for the past days since the Tropical Cyclone that ravaged Meshik, the Capital City of the Most Serene Sultanate of Nuevo Meshiko, and other places affected in its path; her studies, school activities, and hygiene became her highest priority and treated it with the gravity of a 50 year-old male adult. Socializing became jejune and even more as days passed until she officially became invisible from the other students. Chaont was accustomed to being alone as she was in elementary, high-school, and military school, until she was sent here. Even when Chaont had the chance to change, she just could not do it. Chaont felt that the World is not hers, that she has her own world which only consists of her, her belongings, her home and family back in the Viridisian Homeland beyond continents, seas, and oceans, besides beings and things that are not humans or alike, at the very least.
Chaont was invited by Crown Diplomat Ia'vor Blutan in his daily routine and ventures in the Nuevo Meshikan Government. Ia'vor and his staff has managed to reach a settlement with the Meshikan Government to allow him and his colleagues to occupy an office space for temporary diplomatic channels between Her Imperial Viridisian Majesty's Government with His Serene Enacian Highness's Government, and the Nuevo Meshikans', in duration of Chaont's studies in Nuevo Meshiko. Since Chaont has no better idea of how to spend the Weekend, and that sleeping and frolicking around the Justo Tlatoani School is plain - in a New English sense - stupid on her own terms, she has decided to accept Ia'vor's invitation.
"Good morning, Mister Blutan. Have you finally come into an agreement with the Meshikan Government? It took a while, a long while, I tell you if you haven't noticed. It has been almost two weeks. Why and how on Earth did that happened?" Chaont asked.
"Long story-short, they dislike countries that are under a monarchy, regardless of how it is constrained or content its peoples are." Ia'vor answered, contorting his face afterwards.
"I can understand this country's political system except for their collective hatred for foreign monarchies. I see no problem in living in a constitutional monarchy; I reside under two of it in my case. My devolved sovereign and our imperial sovereign are merely symbols sharing 'executive and emergency powers' with our elected heads of government . . . Technically; the Meshikans are one, an elective constitutional monarchy though. They vote for who will be the next Sultan." Chaont said.
"Haven't you read their history? Written there is the reason why the Monarchy, even the slightest idea of one man above others in the name of a divine being - take our very own God as an example, is abhorred." Ia'vor replied.
"Yes, the Sultanate of Meshiko. Ruled by the Tlatoani Dynasty for five centuries, overthrown after allowing foreign capitalists develop Meshikan land and gather its resources in exchange for money . . . Tsk . . . Good riddance to them."
"We should just go with it . . . . . Is it okay if we go visit a place, just one, before we arrive at the Office?"
"Fine with me, as long as there is something for me to finally exhaust myself, if not, tired. School is not enough for me to be in the physical state that I wanted ever since I got here."
"Why would you be exhausted by merely walking around a certain place, an area?" Ia'vor frowned in both confusion and surprise.
"Ah no, what I was supposed to say is that I plan to walk from wherever, within this city's limits, you are planning for us to visit, to the Office."
"Oh, okay . . . Do you already know the ways around here?" Ia'vor raised his right eyebrow with doubt.
"That is the only problem, I have no knowledge of Meshik . . . From its roads to its alleyways; the gutters to its subterranean tunnels of all sizes: the sewers."
"You do not need to know where you are going exactly and how to get there fast, you only must know how to arrive in your preferred destination . . . Besides I cannot let you off my eyes either. You are not allowed to walk in these streets unattended, heck you do not even know these streets. I am not being sexist, concerned."
"I will find my own way there, even if it takes me the whole day."
"Now you're being foolish and stubborn . . . "
The Black Lerwshy, being driven by Ia'vor as this was not a formal affair, made its way through Meshik while the Imperial Standard on the right hand fender flapped at the passing gust of wind. The Lerwshy displayed the Arms of Her Imperial Viridisian Majesty instead of a front license plate. The Lerwshy passed through the several of Meshik's landmarks as it progressed to the place Ia'vor planned to go, he hoped that Chaont would enjoy the sights this time, he smiled at the sight of Chaont looking at Meshik through the Lerwshy's window; Chaont was staring at the window but, it was not the Sights that made her, it was nothing at all. Chaont was only gawking into the space around aimlessly. The Lerwshy after an hour around Meshik, made it to its destination, Plaza Coránica.

Quite a bit actually. I finally introduced the new character that I had planned, we have two new IESP students, Maryam, Jaime and the gang have ventured into the Plaza, met one of the new IESP students, while Yokana and her gang are still stalking them. Oh, and there was a minor earthquake as they arrived.
Also, Viridisolum finally posted. A brilliant post, I must say.

"Well, if you want, I can make us blend into the crowd."

There are plenty of buses and cabs there, as it is the city center. The public transportation system is one of the best and largest in the world, and many people prefer it even over having a private vehicle. So you can pretty much assume you'll always find a bus or a cab in all but the most lonely places of NM.
