--ELECTIONS OUTLAWED FOLLOWING REVELATION OF CORRUPT PRACTICES--
Elections within the Commonwealth have been outlawed after revelations of faulty mismanagement and fraudulent voting that may or may not be the result of corrupt elements within GC society. Members of the assembly reassured the nation-state, which had been reclassified to a "Father-Knows-Best" State, that the right to happiness and prosperity had not been curtailed, rather, that this was a part of a government program to ensure political stability in light of recent problems. Speaking today in front of the Assembly Building, minister David Friedman stated that "this was in the best interests of our citizens to ensure that society remains stable and pure". However, the advocacy group "Citizens demand reasonable elections" (CDRE) claimed that this was part of a larger government effort to curtail personal freedoms in the wake of the 4th street incident.

--HYBRID DOCTOR ARRESTED ON ETHICAL CHARGES--
A doctor who had been accused of making human-animal hybrids was arrested earlier today after reports of unethical human-animal cloning "to satisfy the perverse needs of customers with unique tastes". This has led to his detainment at the Rutherford Memorial Gaol as he awaits trial at the high court of ethics. It is unknown how this incident will affect GC relations between humans and non-humans.

--GBN ENTERTAINMENT--
CapsuMon Craze continues

The hit game from the Showa region, CapsuMon, continues to remain popular with young ones the world over. A game based on the process of capturing fictional anime-styled monsters in a top-down 2D world has proved immensely popular, with many children out of the burgeoning population of 6 million dragging their parents to buy CapsuMon accessories. Popular CapsuMon accessories include plushies, full box-set episodes, and the famous "capture capsules". However, reports of addiction have come following a study by the Commonwealth Board of Psychology and Mental Health (CBPMH), which has led to some communities calling for regulation. CapsuMon transregional CEO Calem Hilbert said of the controversy: "why would colourful monsters in a neural simulation be harmful to our children"?

--UPDATE FROM GBN RUTHERFORD--
The "mad doctor" reportedly entered a stage where he began growing an extra limb as well as several eyes while screaming the night long. Scientists are perplexed as to why this is happening.
