We would have been in the lobby when the attack hit. I'm not worried about the characters, or the aspect of being taken hostage. Min's tagged for emergency extraction (quantum teleportation) and the thade are nasty fighters. I just don't know how you want to tie all that in. I'd prefer it if my character wasn't godmodded into being taken hostage.

My characters' ship doesn't even have armaments, the government basically bought a used car (my nation's too primitive for FTL on its own, we got here on the power of Plot Demand)

Let's say that the Kakuri Suru was working with Zhouranese hardliners in the effort to infiltrate and disrupt the Multi-Species Union. The Zhouranese representative (Mrs Jade) was a hardliner, and she was secretly working together with the Kakuri Suru.

Let's say that the Kakuri Suru was working with Zhouranese hardliners in the effort to infiltrate and disrupt the Multi-Species Union. The Zhouranese representative (Mrs Jade) was a hardliner, and she was secretly working together with the Kakuri Suru.

Trust me, there were a lot of radical anthro and kemonomimi groups sprouting out since the collapse of Altaro in 1986; such as Senbonzakura and Union of Patriotic Forces.

Other groups linked to these radicals include the White Lotus, a secret organization that is like a benevolent version of the Illuminati. Known members of the White Lotus include the Emperor of Chirutarisu and the kings and queens of the Altaran kingdoms that came forth after the collapse of Altaro. They only provide these radicals financial support and nothing else.
