Spamming numbers FOR TEH EMPAH.. is not conductive to enjoyable rp.. I'd like to know if any attacks were directed to Nodan.. My delegate.

I'm pretty sure nations that control entire galaxies would have extremely large numbers, making them "number spammers."

Later on, when I said that technology is key, you say that numbers play a huge role. It's either "technology is key" or "large number is key."

Cept those nations that do so, are hardly accepted by the mainstream of FT... SENSE OF SCALE.. those that do it well, know better than to dog pile a thread with 10^6000 observable universes worth of ships. I've got a massive fleet, but I don't have all of them actively deployed on alert 24/7 and have never had to use my fleet to its 12.5 k ship capacity.. And include logistics, repair, and transports to the numbers.. Its expensive to maintain but I tweaked it after many years to the right balance ; I also built myself up citing situations/rps. I've never had to deploy more than 30 for the eternity of last year.

I never said they aren't but you are claiming to be the largest in the alliance, which is a big no no to just go out and claim you are larger then everyone else out there.

And also neither is key, they both have their merits. There is no single key to military. Its a balancing act. There are points where tech is overpowered by numbers. Where numbers is overpowered by tactics. Where tactics are overpowered by tech and the list goes on.

The question is, why is this even present in this rp at all? It detracts from other elements and its quite pointless to mention such hard numbers of such scale.

I usually don't RP with FT nations and I try to keep my numbers as realistic as I possibly can. Given the choice, i'd choose tech over numbers.

Also, just to let people know, in Zhouran, a starship could be built in just a few hours. Because of this, our starship production rate is extremely high, and this explains why the Zhouranese People's Army Navy fields millions of starships, which is so much that the ZPA Navy had to place extra starships in storage since there are not enough to crew the rest.

Mind explaining to me how you can build something like that in just a few hours. It takes, "just a few hours" to build a rifle in modern times. How could you build something so immense in such a short space of time?

I don't want to sound mean or anything, i'm just curious.

I remember one nation who had a storefront (FT storefront) who also builds nanotechnology factories for quicker production.

Nanotechnology has the potential to make construction faster, cheaper, safer, and more varied. Automation of nanotechnology construction can allow for the creation of structures from advanced homes to massive skyscrapers much more quickly and at much lower cost. In the near future, Nanotechnology can be used to sense cracks in foundations of architecture and can send nanobots to repair them.

You just said you sacrifice tech for numbers but yet you somehow have nano tech to the point where you can build something that would take organics years in a matter of hours. I would argue you are not sacrificing tech one bit,

Do you even know science fiction?

There are two types of science fiction:

Hard SF

Soft SF

Also, Star Wars is NOT scientific accurate.

Please, think before you even post. In fact, do some research.

Cept there are unofficial social conventions that people follow. Not only that, your rping with other people; if you want to be creative in that manner write it in a book. But here your playing with others on a game, we all are. You can accept that there are certain conventions you need to follow, work something out.. Or.. well people would likely end up not wanting to play.

And so is nanotech.

Not on that scale, shall I go through the physical reasons why not? Or can you understand that nano tech has limitations for that application as the dispersion of heat from its substrate isn't sufficient to allow the nanites to work. .The more they build the more heat they make, the more heat they make the.. You get the deal, then you also have the grey goo issue.
