The advantage of homogenous societies is that they're culturally unified with no subcultures, ethnicities, or species to divide up the nation in hatred, distrust, paranoia, jealousy, and age-old rivalries.

While at the same time having the downside of no divergences or internal cultural exchange. Its hard to grow as a people when there is nothing but like minded thinking. Its easier to fall into stagnation when everyone has the same values, same mentality, and etc.

And I would not say that it would ward off distrust, hatred or paranoia. It is just as likely if you think about it. As each person watches each other for signs they have fallen off the path of their society.

The main reason why Zhouran has a homogenous culture is because it is difficult to reproduce with other species.

Probably the only species that can reproduce with the Youmu race are humans, since both are very similar.

So this is more acceptable than abducting people, where at least then we tell them that they're worth something through their cooperation in the experiment that could potentially cure thousands of diseases and solve many of their world's problems, and not brainwash raise them from birth to think otherwise and regard them as living disposables that for some reason society would find better off if they were dead?
