Neither of those countries were communist. Communism is stateless. My father lived in the Soviet Union, and a majority of Russians prefer the Soviet Union over the current system. Your last point is just silly. You did not tell us at all why you dislike it, and you probably do not know what it is. Anarcho-communism performed quite well in Spain during the Spanish civil war, I provided a good source in my last post. I wouldn't call them witnesses. There are both people in those countries who miss the old life, while those who like the new one. We should analyse an ideology on evidence rather on emotion and personal opinion.

In some ways the collapse of the state-capitalist Eastern Block was bad, in other ways I agree it was good.

Okay, but not all of my links were newspaper reports. I provided a book on one of the subjects plus the results of an opinion poll, I didn't include more information and links because I didn't want to add too much.
What is solid academic material? I would have thought a book, and several respectable websites (I admit some, like the Jason Unruhe and Pravda links, were not the most reliable, however they were actually correct) were good enough evidence. However I do not claim the provenance of all my evidence was perfect, however it was all mostly correct.
Your allies didn't add a single source (and neither have you), so I don't think you should be critisising people on sources.

I never said that socialism or communism were the best things in the world. They are not perfect, I just merely believe that those systems are far superior to our current system. I did provide some links with referenced first hand experience in former East Germany and also the attitudes of the majority of Russian, so don't say I dismissed the evidence. I agree that some in those countries are better off, however there are a lot who are worse off also. My father left Russia in the 90s because of the trouble there, so don't say I have no idea what I am talking about, and yes my father has gone back there recently.
