I second (third?) this proposal.
The last thing we need is that Greycoat guy to stop by and deploy "5 million soldiers 1 million tanks 500,000 planes and 1,000 missiles."

Close. It's more like a cross between a nuke and a cluster-bomb. At high altitude, the outer casing breaks off and the smaller warheads inside are each individually guided toward a single target.

Let's wait a little longer to see if he gets finished with his what I guess to be school work or whatever.

I'll keep waiting, of course; what else am I to do? It did, however, strike me as weird that Imp said that he'll be "posting shortly" four days ago, and that I haven't heard from him since...Mizrad wrote:

Ah, good to hear you're still interested; considering you're hosting the talks, I was beginning to feel worried. Anyway, I didn't mean to push you guys around, the sudden drop of momentum just seemed weird to me.

I feel your concern. For the most part, the last handful of RPs I've taken part in ended up dying out as one vital player or another stopped posting. It's a shame - I felt this one had some great potential, what with the good writing and acceptable realism.
But really, I shouldn't be one to talk - this week's been a terrible storm of homework and term papers, and next week may be even worse. I'll do my best to put up a post on the diplomatic conference within 24 hours, but I can't make any guarantees.

Papas still here.
Worst case, we can have the OP forfiet his OPness due to inactivity and take this RP on without him, such that we can have Canon for our nations.
What do y'all say?

It depends. My rule of thumb is to carry on without the OP once the "last reported government activity" on their nation page reaches one week.
But even that's imperfect... I recall one time last summer when the OP vanished long enough that they became "Ex-Nation," so the remaining players divided their nation into occupied zones as the setup for a "East/West Germany" style conflict in the future. But then the OP reactivated their nation, which put us in a rather embarrassing situation.
I suggest that someone TG Imperania (I can't, I have to go in a minute) and ask if they still want to continue with this RP. After all, this is their nation we're dealing with - we can't just keep on playing and let them accept whatever happens in their absence.

I'll do it.

I feel Imp is a bit too much of a key player in this scenario, since the talks revolved primarily around imp settling its affairs with you, to have his status forfeit. Unless someone simply takes on his role, I'm not sure how we can withdraw him from the rp.Firmador wrote:The Soodean Imperium wrote:I feel your concern. Someone would need to take on his role.
The only problem is we lack a pro-Imperania party.
Perhaps Mizrad? But they are biased since they want two cities in the NE... ofc not I...

I never said I wanted two cities in the NE, I was just asking permission to set up bases there and give the massive amount of troops stationed at Union Air Base some breathing room by spreading them around the country.

The Soodean Imperium wrote:All this talk about cities and bases is giving me an idea, if we wanted to re-kindle this RP into a "hot" conflict.
In its current state, the Soodean high command is fueled by passionate ideology and believes it has a supreme mission to "uphold justice, defend the innocent, and smite the dishonorable." If they think someone has committed any kind of war crime, they're liable to push political relations to the side and attack outright. So if someone tried to occupy or annex Imperianian land, causing civilian casualties in the process, I could have the Soodeans use allegations of imperialism as Casus Belli to short-sightedly engage the aggressor's force, sparking a war.
Naturally, I won't go ahead with this if everyone would rather keep things as they are. And if Imperania returns, this suggestion is null and void. Not to mention that, as I've said before, this week and the next will leave me with very little free time. I'm just putting it out there as a possible option if Imperiania really is gone and other people want to continue the conflict.
Edit: post #1984... Big Brother is watching you.
