I am considering using "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" as the Tatran national anthem. I think the lyrics would fit The High Tatras fairly well with no alterations or modifications. It certainly gets across the idea of natural rights and that "God is the only King we need", and it is about the land and the people and not the government or the military. I do not care that it has the same tune as "God Save the Queen". Besides, the Germans came up with that tune first if I am not mistaken.

I though it was Danish because "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" was written for King Christian VII, but then the Prussians stole it. Even though it was written by a German.
"Rufst du mein Vaterland" has the same tune, but it sings of the fatherland, not a king, because Switzerland never had one.

Yes. I have considered using the tune of "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego" or "Shche ne vmerla Ukraina", but I can't seem to come up with my own lyrics.

I hear that if you listen to this long enough you spontaneously grow a black trenchcoat, learn Ukrainian or Russian and want to squat in one of the abandoned houses around Chernobyl just to annoy the official tours leading through the area.

You could ask, say, the Olweans about what's happening in the far future. Or even my character about what's happening in 2014.

You could choose an idea/place name inspired by your nation, then, and make it more general. Really depends on what kind of region you're looking to make- an RP region, a chatty region, a quiet region, or a region with a more intimate feel.
