I think this may be the only way to save my beloved RP from a languishing demise, that is to say to advertise it in hope that it will elicit your attention. It has a good community behind it, with excellent, well-deserved credentials lent by many of the participants, but it suffers from a lack of activity at the moment. I'm sure it would a rewarding experience even for late entries, because the story is complex and multi-faceted, complete with political, military, and economic disputes amongst all parties.

Well, the Tatrans probably will not get along very long with the court culture. Tatran customs dictate that one should never bow down to anyone but God, and any monarch that claims "divine right" or an equivalent such as the "mandate of heaven" is considered sacrilegious (because "We are all equals under the eyes of God" and/ or "Jesus Christ is the only King we need").

That's a shame because we're one of the most gentle and sensible governments on NS.

No matter what you do, eventually you will be forgotten and nothing of your history will remain of importance. It is best to come to terms with that at some point.

So why worry about engraving yourself in the stone of history? Just live your life, have fun doing it and relish in the knowledge that every last one of those attention-seeking drama queens will eventually be as insignificant, small and forgettable as everyone else is.

Just have fun and make sure to act in a way that allows everyone else who desires it to have fun as well. If the opportunity to do something extraordinary arises, I've found, it'll appear on its own eventually. No need to risk missing it because you've been too stressed out to notice it.

I'm sure people told that to Sargon of Akkad and he is still remembered in a world he would consider alien. If you engrave correctly the stone of history it will maintain a life well lived.

Unless we find the Incubators, the whole universe's going to go the way of heat death anyway. Have fun.

I have a vague idea for a humorous RP. The basic idea is that a "generation gap" emerges in one particular NPC nation, and each of the RPers try to exploit this by exporting their culture to that nation's youth in order to make a profit. Eventually, a variety of "subcultures" develop in the NPC nation, each promoting wildly different lifestyles and philosophies. There will be riots and protests, and older generations will panic about a supposed "moral decline". "Enclaves" or "communes" will also be founded by the various "subcultures".

I do wonder if my nation actually has any consumer products that there would be a significant demand for if it were exported. It has been established in my mind that mass produced Tatran consumer products sometimes have quality control and standardization issues due to the "imagination and a pile of junk" style of most Tatran technology.

I suppose there might be considerable demand for traditional souvenirs and handicrafts, but sooner or later another nation will mass produce cheap ripoffs of these products that will significantly outsell my real versions.
