I am a socialist in RL, but sometimes my IC nation can have an element of self-parody. In particular, there is the use of symbols such as red stars, cogwheels and hammers, and black berets, and the use of terms like "tovarishch", "agitprop", and "plute"/ "prole" (popularized by the Industrial Workers of the World/ "Wobblies", and later used in George Orwell's novel "1984"), and the use of "constructivist" art and architecture that was popular during the "New Economic Policy" years in the RL Soviet Union circa 1920s ("constructivist" art and architecture also had an influence on the "Bauhaus" and the "De Stijl" movements).

I've just recently adopted Self-Contradiction as a national philosophy.

And I'm kinda confused of my own logic.

Indeed it is doublethink.

I'm trying to apply it to build my nation's philosophy so as to both be close to real-life and close to 1984.

Well... at least figured out that I can use the fake democracy to bolster the real dictatorship.

I am thinking creating an elite squad of Tatran "super-soldiers" who have the outward appearance of being "sweet, shy, studious boys" like a disproportionate amount of my protagonists. However, they have actually been selectively bred and raised from birth to have heightened mental and moral capabilities rather than any physical powers. This allows them to stay calm and make logical decisions in stressful combat situations, and to learn how to operate complicated weapons systems with relative ease. They also design and build their own technologically advanced weapons and gadgets of choice.

I think I have developed a bad habit of flooding people's telegram inboxes whenever I am bored and see that they are online. I have also developed a bad habit of typing post very hastily so I make stupid grammatical errors, or leave out words that I meant to write, or write some words twice in a row.

I have decided that this unit's motto will be "scientia est potentia" and their insignia will display the "Owl of Athena". I still need a catchy name to call them.

So, another zombie apocalypse.

Yeah, I'd say that it's absolutely boo-ring and uncreative as hell, but I'd still play along with it anyway! I think it'd be a good time to introduce the (god-bless-us-all-thousandth) new canon of Saracenia, a Pagan one that worship variety of gods inspired from pre-Islamic Arab mythology and Medieval/Renaissance Christian stereotype of Muslims.

My poorly drawn attempt at a picture of a member of the unit. I do not think it turned out very well, although I do sort of like the overly long "telnyashka" shirt that is much too big for him and the black beret with a red star. He carries a selective fire machine pistol that he designed and built himself. It can fire ordinary slugs as well as high explosive, armor-piercing, and incendiary bullets. Not shown in the picture is his backpack ornithopter.

Jesus, that looks like one of those nightmarish cold war era cartoons, possibly from the eastern bloc.

You just want to mistaken for a Soviet puppet state that missed the Great Politics Mess Up, don't you.

My usual drawing style looks caricature-like, probably because I used to draw editorial cartoons as a hobby.

I am tired of zombie apocalypses. I don't have anything intrinsically against zombies, but I am against them permeating every genre and setting. They get old fast. Can't we come up with something else to try this year?

ZOMBIE TELETUBBIES

But yeah, I agree with you that we should have something different.
Of course, it's entirely possible that Max has some sort of twist that will make it decently interesting and maybe declare an end to zombie apocalypses on NationStates in favor of something else. Hopefully both.

You can opt-out. Just don't log in until its over and everything will be back to normal like last time... Or, you can just ignore it and go about your business as normal; you probably wouldn't be the only one to do so.

The latter.

I actually made an explanation last time it happened. What happened is that Auzkhia closed all inter-universe travel for that day; therefore the zombie plague never hit us.
