That was just the OOC Planning. I can only afford to spread the love of Outer God Big Brother to the first country that ardently signed up. I already have a candidate for that.

Oh, this is going to be interesting. My advise is to avoid the core of the Void, simply due to the fact it has ten Black Suns and one planet, which is home of the Solarians, a species who are made from cosmic energy. They're highly hostile and hate tresspassers in the Void.
BTW; can I have a link to the RP, please?

The notion of lightless suns and cosmic energy beings bothering what could only be described as the combination of the void and Mind Rape amuses me.

Yes well, the UTSD is now Vampires and Giant Cat people, soon to have a small collection of other races obtained via freeing slaves.

The white glow effect is from the heat they give off. So, they give off heat, yes. They're just pitch black like the space around them.

I'm debating whether I should join.

On one hand, my nation is inhabited by ten foot tall, blue skinned, hyperintelligent, telekinetic, sex crazed space kitties/monkeys/elves who have been around for millions of years and whose lifetimes last a millennium, and have achieved utopian status through endless advancement in technology and society, and yes even the gods from their religions actually exist despite my nation being mostly sci-fi, otherwise, being the intellectuals they are, they would have no reason to continue practicing the religions.

On the other hand, since my nation is sci-fi, I like to explain and justify as much as possible with real science, such as the application of Einstein-Rosen bridges in interstellar travel and trade, shields that use electron-positron annihilation discharges to deflect objects, and the transportation of quantum entangled particles through a tachyonic signal medium to create what is effectively the early stages of teleportation. I also sometimes like to approach situations thinking "what would most likely happen if this situation was in real life?"

While I value not being limited by what is possible in real life, I still value having a little bit of practicality.

Thoughts, anyone?

I would be okay with you joining. My usual rule of thumb with technology in my nation is "would this technology have been imaginable by someone living in the RL 1920s-1940s". Many of the technologies that I use were once seriously proposed but later proved to be either impossible or highly impractical. Examples of this type of technology include Nikola Tesla's "teleforce projector" and airborne aircraft carrier zeppelins similar to the USS Akron and USS Macon (both of which crashed in RL).

The same is true in my 17th century timeline, although I often add the question of "could this be handmade by skilled craftsmen, even if it would be very difficult". Examples of technologies that I have used in this timeline include Christiaan Huygens's "gunpowder engine", tentative experiments with primitive steam engines, and various clockwork contraptions similar to those of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Honestly, I don't really care that much if my technology is practical or even possible as long as it seems reasonably authentic for the period in question.

You should still join. Screwing Realism offers for much more fun scenarios. You can always keep the science part, but you'll always love the screwing of realism.
