BÖHNSTADT'S LEADERSHIP OF SDP FALTERS; INGA AMAGAWA FRONTRUNNER FOR PARTY LEADER AS LEADERSHIP ELECTION CALLED FOR MAY 5TH

SDP politician Inga Amagawa criticizes SDP leader Lena Böhnstadt, and is considered the frontrunner for the party leadership election on May 5th.

In the aftermath of the recent elections, which saw a wipeout of SDP, Lena Böhnstadt's leadership of the party has began to falter, with approval ratings amongst party members dropping from 55% in the week before election to just 15% in the week after the election, whilst KNF leader Katrina Chmielowska has seen a party leadership approval rating increase from 91% to 95%, the highest in national history.

One of Böhnstadt's leading critics is Inga Amagawa, who unsuccessfully ran for party leader in 2002, where she was beaten by Böhnstadt by 51% to 49%. Amagawa, daughter of Kyūkokan migrants, has been a member of the National Assembly since 1982 as a MNA for the New Frontier Party (she joined SDP in 1997) and has continuously been elected in the Östwehn-Südöst constituency, with a remarkable majority of 66% in the recent elections. Amagawa has criticized Böhnstadt's leadership since she assumed leadership in 2002, and Amagawa has had a growing base of support ever since the 2002 leadership election.

Amagawa has successfully called for a leadership election, determined by the SDP Executive Council to be held on May 5th in Wolksstadt. Böhnstadt has confirmed she will be running for re-election, however Amagawa is the clear frontrunner. Wife of former SDP leader and Chancellor Sigmar Hiedler, Klara Hiedler, has also expressed interest in running and is expected to announce her candidacy soon.

It is notable that no male has presented himself as a possible candidate - In 2002, Arnold Kruger was the only main male candidate, however died as a result of a heart attack before the leadership election, thus meaning it was only a competition between Amagawa and Böhnstadt. In fact, 2002 was the first year a woman ever ran for leadership (Marie Böhnstadt, Chancellor of Östenlund-Kradowska and leader of SDP from 1980 to 1993 and mother of Former Chancellor Lena Böhnstadt, did not 'run' for leadership. She was appointed by former leader Heinrich Fassbender).

Currently, a live opinion poll hosted on sdp.ok between the two confirmed candidates Inga Amagawa and Lena Böhnstadt shows Amagawa leading at 69%. You must register an account to vote, and you can change your vote anytime you want. The poll will add new candidates when they confirm their bid for leadership.

In a devastating and horrid vape that took place at a vaping of the vapers near the town of Rozi on Vape Island, which was vaped by several Vaping Officials and the Vaper of the Vapers Council, Thaddeus Riyadh, there on behalf of the Beruiti Vapers and there on part of Madani Nasir Nassar, who had seen one of the vapers during the Vaper Wars who was to be vaped a vaped that was to be vaped to her vaped by the Vapers Council. However the vaper, Amelia Shogli, was the vaper of the vaping before she was able to vape her vaper. Several other Vapers vaped as the Vape Nation vaped on stage whilst several Vapers of the Vapers were receiving their vapes and vape juice. The Vape of Beruiti, mainly Madani Nasir Nassar and Hayta Sidni, recently ordered that, in the name of national vaping, and with the going through of their plan with the National Committee of Vaping to arrest and prosecute anyone not vaping, and officially classified it as a non-vapers organization. With the cooperation of the Supreme Vaper, Executive Vaper, and the National Committee of Vaping, Beruiti has enforced Martial Vaping on the city of Rozi placing it under the vape of Haazam Shafari, a Vaper who is still in the Vaping under the air smoke, to be recalled and placed as vaping co-vaper of Rozi. The vaping has already vaped to the city of Rozi, and the non-vapers, when vaped, will vape without trial. Non-Vapers, as of now, has been starting its non-vaping operation without the help of any other vaper.

President Addresses Historic Agreement with Grozav Inima and Military Forces

Today the President was able to take time and discuss the recent military build up, which led to many fears of a crisis, and the shocking and sudden agreements, that appear to have appeased both the President's government, and President Alexios Barthetia's administration, in Grozav Inima. Currently, a DMZ is being established along the once disputed area, among other changes. The Chiefs of Staff were very supportive of this landmark deal, General Pavo Malinovsky further elaborated: "This deal will probably be a very positive result for our forces. With this lingering, and at times, conflict igniting issue, dealt with we can rest a little easier knowing both we, and our neighbors are relatively happy with these results. Perhaps in time it may yield a better relationship with them. Likewise we can concern ourselves with other matters should anything happen."

Many in our country have seen the arrival for foreign troops from many countries across Atlas, and with this agreement reached, it appears they won't need to possibly risk their lives, as many believed they were here for. Many governments, have been taking shots at each other, as their troops all find themselves bumping shoulders in our country. Many believe that there was in fact a crisis, however, statements from the President's office, have maintained these were just heated statements, the result of other disputes between these nations, additionally it was stated the government and military was sure they would create a conflict in our nation.

With other issues in the world, the Chiefs of staff have confirmed the foreign units in our country will probably be ordered home soon, but commended them and their behavior and skill as soldiers, and allies.

Free Beruiti Organizers and Beruiti Government Forces clash in Tosogo, several FBOs and BGFs, along with civilians killed;

An attack initiated by Free Beruiti Operatives in the town of Tosogo, located on the coast, famous for being a historical city as the co-capital of the Kingdom of Liruga-Tosoga, or as it was known as the Liguran-Tosogan Kingdom, which existed during 788-869CE; Operatives struck at the museum using weapons stolen from Beruiti and weapons provided from Grozav Inima to the Free Beruiti controlled [DATA REDACTED]. Using the weapons, the Operatives using the stealth, went undetected into the Tosogo Museum of the Lirugan-Tosogan Kingdom, before stealing several valuable Lirugan-Tosogan art which characterized the Lirugan-Tosogan art as different and not replicated from civilizations around that time. The Operatives were promptly caught, and took several people hostage and infiltrated the security room, keeping people hostage there as local police arrived. However due to the importance of history to Beruiti, it was not long before Government Forces were called by the request of the local Security Council. A firefight between the Beruiti Government Forces and the Free Beruiti Operatives erupted, which forced Beruiti Government Forces to forced to pull back for several minutes, allowing for Free Beruiti Operatives to hand off the art to other Free Beruiti Operatives to lug the art pieces out of the security room and out of the vicinity, before shipping it off to [DATA REDACTED].

After which Free Beruiti Operatives, who had killed several Beruiti Government Forces, began with over twelve people, whittled down to six people. They pulled back to the security room, where a last stand was engaged. The ten civilian hostages were executed summarily before they took a last stand, gunning down another few Government Soldiers, before having only two Operatives left, in which they were summarily arrested and are being interrogated before death row, ordered by Hayta Sidni.

The casualty report was released by the National Committee of Security, which we will publish. The original document could not be photographed as the National Committee of Security as well as Hayta Sidni did not allow for government files to be photographed.

Other Development

Free Beruiti, however, has proclaimed to be the government of Beruiti as the Democratic People’s Republic of Beruiti, as a government in exile. The Government in exile of the Democratic People’s Republic of Beruiti wished to contact Grozav Inima in order to set up headquarters there in order to divert their political efforts there.

Free Beruiti has been fighting a long war with the Communist dictatorship of Beruiti, recently they have made an insurgency in recent years, gaining the support of the government of Grozav Inima. Both the ROGI party and SPP agree that the nation should do all within it's power to aid the organization fighting for Beruiti's freedom, so far that has been limited to providing arms, mostly A45 mod. D rifles, DPT66 marksmans rifles, and surplus M44 machineguns.

However, the leaders of Free Beruiti have requested that they relocate their headquarters to Grozav Inima to increase security against government backlash, a request which the government accepted quickly. The old Beruiti embassy has been closed, and the leaders of Free Beruiti are to be given full access to the building as their new headquarters. The old occupants of the embassy, those of the Beruiti Government Diplomatic Corps, are to be airlifted via RodAir to Zaryanthia, while the flight and those on board are protected by an escort of Republican Guards in case of government retaliation.

The Grozav Iniman Independence Party, and the Social Liberal Party, have both denounced the interventionism of the new government, and Stefan Albanescu of the SLP, said in an interview that "only suffering for our nation and theirs can come from getting involved." Nicolae Negrescu of the GIIP also agreed, and said "There is no point risking Iniman lives for an irrelevant nation halfway on Alfashir, let Versail or Kwadai risk their lives, it is not our place to get involved."

Many have echoed the sentiment of the GIIP and SLP, however, in an internet poll on the ISNS's website (available at: http://www.isns.gro/poll=381/vote&f=4&t), 69% of those polled said that the current level of intervention was necessary, with 23% of these saying that the government should step up intervention, while only 21% said that intervention was unnecessary.

Carsodonian-Carlosian efforts in Dhechnia

Carsodonian KaZ-40 Kvazars begin airstrikes in Dhechnia^

Today on CIN! Carsodonian Forces continue to land in Dhechnia but operations have also begin with boots on the ground, as you may know Carsodonia sent forces to Dhechnia to assist it's ally Carloso in destroying the evil terror organization known as Al-Qaria and bring stabilization to the nation of Dhechnia. President Voloski has committed a carrier group lead at the helm by the famous HMS Leonidas Super Carrier, within this carrier group is a number of Carsodonian made KaZ-40 Kvazar multirole jets and even the CT-110 Vasily Main Battle Tank which both will be taking the most active roles in this conflict, the KaZ-40 already starting it's air campaigns against Al-Qaria positions and the CT-110 which will be fighting alongside our 20,000 brave Carsodonian soldiers who will work in coalition with the Carlosian forces in Southern Dhechnia.

In other news tensions continue to rise in Ordia as Grozav Inima continues to push it's intensions against Srpska who also is pushing their national interest. The current crisis seems to have blown up considerably, now begining to get the attention and possible involvement of the bigger nations around Atlas. With that President Voloski has ordered increased readyness of Carsodonian Forces along with increased air patrols to the south and southwest of Carsodonia, the Carsodonian Navy has also increased it's patrols and presence in the waters between Carsodonia and Ordia. He said in his speach about the crisis, "Carsodonia will not let this situation get out of hand, Carsodonia's interests are important and strongly backed in this region of Atlas and we will do anything
to keep this Region as stable as can be. We therefore request the Roskians to pull their Destroyer away and for the other nations such as Stasnov and Cydonia to not continue to escalate the situation any further by sending more troops into Ordia. This is a Regional issue not a World issue, so lets keep it so..." Well there you have it folks, this is CIN signing off!

Conflict Escalates in Dhechnia, Refugee Numbers Increase

The conflict in Dhechnia has greatly escalated recently, with the arrival of more troops, notably from Carsodonia. Some 20,000 troops have been deployed in the Southern part of the country, with a fleet to back them. They are operating alongside Carlosian forces who also landed. The two countries maintain they are trying to destroy armed groups like Al-Qaria. Border security stationed in that zone has had to do little searching for anyone, as noticeably larger numbers of refugees begin to swamp the checkpoints seeking access, according to security, the majority of it is temporary requests, though the longer this conflict drags on, the more likely this is to change.

The commanders responsible for the checkpoints of those zones, have all requested additional support, there has been no comment from the President or the Foreign Ministry, however, civil and security authorities in Lozice have stated that there are meetings underway to discuss the situation. Many of them are concerned, not only about the increasing numbers of people in need, but the well equipped coalition, who are not so far off. In the meantime, all they can do is remain vigilant, as they have in these sometimes difficult days.

After the major deployment of Carsodonian military in the nearby country of Dhechnia, Yakzistan has reactivated it's reserves for deployment. The 8th Border Guards was reformed after being deactivated in December of late 1995. Meanwhile, it received a new commander; Lt. Soslan Tibirovnik, who recently served as commander of the Kalahar Pass border crossing station. The major concern to these events, is increased activity of terrorist groups in the nearby country of Dhechnia, fearing such groups would spill into their nearby neighbor of Yakzistan. Others says is the possible buildup of Carsodonian troops in the nearby country, but many dismiss that such idea.

The other major concern is the concern of refugees spilling into Yakzistan, the Yakzistani border with Dhechnia is primarily consists of rugged mountains and only several passes in these mountain ranges allow flow in and out of the area. Currently, the Yakzistani government is currently not accepting any refugees into country for security concerns of such radical groups posing as refugees into the country. Some of the left-wing groups of the National Parliament have criticized the government's stance on this as "blatantly xenophobic". The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mirova Idana has dismissed this claim as "tomfoolery" and "lack of concern on national security".

Currently, the main duty of the border guards is to patrol the main mountain passes that lead into the nation of Dhechnia, setting up road blocks with checkpoints for security purposes. Meanwhile the Yakzistani Air Force has also participated with this effort and loaned it's help by patrolling the mountain ranges with the Mil Mi-2 "Hoplite" utility helicopters. As of now there no effects with local settlements among the Yakzistani-Dhechnian border, some of which are welcoming the prescience of the border guards. Many of which are the concerns of militants crossing over unprovoked by anyone to set up a local branch for operating in the area. Currently, there has been no reports of militants in the area.

A large portion of the Valdian chain of command were in Prevale for a meeting on the future of Valdian involvement in Qauwa.

Fleet Admiral R. “Dick” Simmons survived the blast, though sustaining heavy radiation poisoning, he is not expected to survive the week. Speaking from a provisional hospital, he said “as interim President of the Republic of Valdiu, the military of the Republic of Valdiu and its government can no longer ensure the safety of Valdiu’s citizens. In the likely event of my death, under the powers enumerated to me by the Valdian constitution, I hereby declare martial law, to be imposed at the discretion of each District’s military governor. Additionally, I appoint, as my successor, the most senior member of the Defense Committee of the Republic left alive. Should I be the last one, the Presidency will revert to the next person on the chain of command. Until that person is ascertained, each district is under control of their governor.”
Most PCNN staff were also killed. Several staff on assignment have been recalled.

Modern Valdian warships captured by al-Qaria

Following the detonation of a nuclear weapon in Prevale, al-Qaria operatives have captured two Merit-class destroyers, the VCS Edward K. Ellington and the VCS Boaty McBoatface. The detonation in Prevale destroyed several more of these destroyers. Miraculously, the superbattleship VCS Prevale was not harmed, along with several other Second Great War-vintage battleships. These are expected to be recalled into service.

The modern carrier VCS Prevale, however, was severely damaged by the weapon’s EMP, as well as flying debris, though it is seaworthy. The ship will not be assisting in the recovery effort due to it being heavily irradiated.

The al-Qaria operatives, utilizing weapons looted from Prevale, stormed and took the two destroyers while the two were emergency-ported for further direction following the explosion. The operatives were numerous, and were thought to be led by survivors of the plan to storm Naval Base Reach-Deca, foiled earlier this month.

The destroyers were last seen sailing for Qauwa. It is unknown how these terrorists managed to get the advanced, billion-arian destroyers underway, though it is thought to be with the help of hostage or sympathetic crew. “We are confident in the abilities of the Valdian and allied forces in and off Qauwa to deal with this threat,” read a statement posted on the Valdian Navy’s website. “The Valdian Navy at home will be focused on the security of Valdiu’s immediate vicinity. All Second and Third fleet assets are being recalled at this time.”

On this day, eighty-one years ago, forces of the First Republic of Grozav Inimă and Communist Insurgents clashed over the city of Yerezc in the province of Sudfaţă. The battle was by far the bloodiest and longest engagement of the Rotenkan Revolution, lasting from the 8th of March 1935 to the 27th of April 1936, making it one of the longest battles in the nation's history. Over the course of the battle, over a quarter of a million men were killed. Today, Grozav Inima is marking the 80th anniversary of the Republican victory in the battle that would ultimately decide the result of the civil war.

The anniversary of the Republican victory will be widely celebrated across the nation today, while over 10,000 guests have arrived in the city of Yerezc to pay homage and participate in the celebrations. The celebrations include a large military parade, battle reconstructions, fireworks, religious ceremonies, and more.

The President Alexios Barthethiă took this opportunity to give a speech, in the speech he denounced Carlosian and Carsodonian intervention in Dhechnia, saying "Right now, Dhechnia is going through a tumultuous time much like Grozav Inima of 1936, but unlike us, the Dhechnians are not allowed to stand for themselves, suppressed by the international terrorism of both Al-Qaria and continued foreign empire-building.".

ISNS has collected a number of essential historical facts about the Battle of Yerezc, as well as some interesting trivia.

- In total number of combatants died, the battle of Yerezc is the bloodiest battle in the Rotenkan Revolution, in proportion of combatants that died, the battle of Yerezc is one of the bloodiest battles in history, with a casualty percent across both combatants standing at 57%.

- The operation the battle of Yerezc was a part of, called Operation: Almássy, was named after the Wacel general during the Veraglio-Wacel wars, who is considered one of the greatest strategists in Grozav Iniman history, despite losing both wars in which he commanded Casa de Wacel's armies. The Operation was the same which ultimately ended the war with the capture of the Revolutionary stronghold of Coșuta, resulting in the capture of József Pogány and his associates, and their summary execution.

- The battle consisted of two distinct stages, the first was the small scale skirmishes over the outskirts of the city, where the superior firepower of the Republican forces soundly outclassed those of the Revolutionaries, the second stage involved vicious street fighting between the two sides, which lasted over five months and gave the Battle of Yerezc it's fame.

- Despite Revolutionary forces losing 3 men for every 2 that the government lost earlier in the war, the Battle of Yerezc was the first battle in which the casualties shifted in favour of the Communists, where the Government lost 8 men for every 7 Revolutionaries.

- One Revolutionary fighter by the name of Saren Iasi became something of a legend in Communist circles internationally due to his leadership of his squad, named the "Red Dogs", who were credited with destroying over twenty Republican ammunition and food caches over the course of the battle, with their alleged kill count standing at over a hundred and sixty. However, historians have questioned the number of government troops killed by the Red Dogs, citing a lack of evidence for the claim.

- Republican forces also had tales of heroism, during a Revolutionary counter-attack in late 1935, Republican Legionnaire, István Dutra, was, with seven other men, cut off from reinforcements and supplies for over a month, reportedly defending a school for over three weeks, and then fleeing through the sewers to the Republican lines.
