The stage is completely dark as people from hundreds of different countries try to find a seat before the official show begins. After several minutes, the screen shows a countdown from thirty minutes from when the show officially begins. As time passes on, and everyone manages to find their seat, the timer now counts back from ten. Everyone counts with the timer, shouting as each number shows up on the screen, before giving one last scream of excitement as the timer disappears from the screen, leaving the audience in complete darkness. Finally, a single spotlight is shown on stage, and Irena Perkav, a retired Polkopian pianist, is shown, wearing a black dress, playing some notes on a piano to This tune. (0:00 - 1-18)
I hear these sounds all around me
I hear them played in the middle of the street
These notes hit my ears and I'm in a daze
It's your own music
Irena seems deeply concentrated on her performance, closing her eyes, feeling her hands work their magic on the piano keys as she sings in a deep, beautiful voice, not missing a note.
A hard rock song, from Kishrael
Some Kalosian ethnic music
Be proud of
Be proud of
Your own music
A beautiful ballad
That comes from Kingsley Beford
Be proud of
be proud of...
The lights shine brightly on the stage now, showing many people on the stage, each wearing a traditional garb from some country. The music stops for a second, and changes to a more, upbeat tune where everyone on stage started dancing. Then, Markus Isov, a Polkopian comedian, appears on the stage after pushing through several of the onstage people and begins to sing. (0:00 - 1:20)
Polkopia, we have all kinds
Pop, rock, and ethnic sounds
But our music is no better
Than those from all around
The people continue dancing around him, groups of dancers pairing up to dance a traditional dance from their respective countries. The camera pans to several dancers dancing a traditional Russadonian dance, and then a Quinntopian dance, on and on until the dancers from Vampirum are captured with the camera until the camera pans back to Markus.
She likes New Warwick's music.
I like Lymantatia's.
We both dance until the sun set
To music from Bloodbath Generation.
Sparks now fly out from around the stage, and a small platform in the middle of the stage, the one that has Markus standing on it, raises, which raises Markus along with it. It stops moving once it has reached a height of about fifteen feet, and Markus keeps singing, making comical dance moves as he sings.
Our music makes us different, nobody's tune the same
But what brings us all together is sharing all of our music
With each other! Let's go!
Crank up the radio.
Be proud of your music
Share it with the world
Be proud of your music
Dance the night away
To the beat of your music
Your music makes you different
So be proud of your music
So be proud of your music
So be proud of your music
The music ends and everyone on-stage pauses in a similar fashion; with their right hand raised in the air. The lights go dark again while everybody leaves the stage. The camera turns to various people in the audience, waving their flags, shouting in excitement. Some members of the audience have their face painted, have signs to cheer on a specific act, or have other accessories such as foam fingers, inflatable gifts, or hats, that have their nation's flag printed on them.
As everyone on the larger platform leaves, a spotlight shines on another platform at the far right of the stage, where hosts Anna Petravona and Roman Wakowsmit. Anna is wearing a Yellow Dress and Roman is wearing a grey Tuxedo. They both smile at the cheering crowd, both holding notecards in their hands. The stage lights back up, and it seems as if everyone on the larger platform has disappeared. The crowd continues to cheer, flags of various countries waving in national pride. The two look at each other and laugh before they hold their hands up, signaling for the crowd to quiet down.
Anna: Welcome to the 30th edition of the Worldvision Song Contest! I, Anna Petravona, along with my partner here, Roman Wakowsmit will be your hosts of the evening, and we're here to bring you an amazing show!
Roman: Yes, that's right. This edition marks the second time that Polkopia has hosted the contest, with last time being the same edition that we brought home the victory with Miss Anna Petravona right here!
The crowd cheers again
Roman: Alright, alright. Anyway, this edition also marks the 30th anniversary of the contest itself! Thirty years of the good, the bad, and the downright ugly have impacted our lives throughout the years, and we're here to celebrate that tonight.
Anna: Yes, that's right Roman. Also, we're lucky enough to be inside the new Restnov Stadion, which is the newest arena to be built in Polkopia. The stadium was completely finished about a month ago, and we're the very first to be inside of it. How does everyone like it?
Lights of blue, red, and yellow travel around the audience, and a the perimeter of the stage is suddenly replaced with a wall of fire that reaches about twenty feet in height. Then, as soon as it appeared, the flames stop at once. The crowd screams in excitement.
Roman: So, I take it that the stage is a success? Great! Now, by the end of the night, out of the thirty eight acts that are to perform, only one will walk home with the trophy.
Anna: So, let's not keep the crowd waiting, Roman.
Roman: Right you are Anna!
Roman and Anna: Ladies and gentlemen, let the 30th Worldvision Song Contest begin!
