President Albinson Calls For "International Stand Against Communism"

With a growing number of Socialist and Communist-aligned countries throwing their lot in with the terrorist state of the EUSR, President Albinson has called for an International Stand Against Socialism. He has called on any free nation to join the Republic in pushing the EUSR and its tenets of communism from the shores of Eikangaard. He has also asked that any nation who wishes to orient themselves in combatting a growing global trend towards Socialism.

"We hope that the actions of the EUSR in sowing dissent and funding terrorism within our borders has shown the world that Socialist States cannot be trusted. Any nation that holds it's people under an inherently oppressive system of governance and economics cannot be trusted to let free nations be. We cannot ignore a growing view that socialism is the key to securing our future. We cannot allow misguided men and women to steal the fruits of our hard work and dedication to our crafts, to use our skills to oppress our neighbors and families.

This is why I call on you, the denizens of all free nations, to assist us in pushing the destructive ideology from our shores, and join us in preparing for the defense of our very way of life. The EUSR is only one of many socialist countries that are consolidating their possessions and preparing their next moves. Foreign Delegations Arrive In Orentan For The Ceremony Of Signing The Integration Protocol Between SOWEFTA And Daredland

Sunrisia is welcoming foreign delegations in Orentan for the signing of the Integration Protocol between SOWEFTA and Daredland, which would make Daredland an associate state of SOWEFTA. Among the foreign delegations are representatives of Creperian and Ederi Ministries responsible for trade, finance and economy. Creperia and Edereon are both full member states of SOWEFTA along with Sunrisia, making it a trilateral trade bloc at present moment. Another foreign delegation is, obviously, from Daredland. It also includes representatives of the country’s Ministries responsible for trade, finance and economy. However, among the higher-ranking officials from the Daredi government are – Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner, Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession Dries Schwarz and the Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs Friedrich Heuvel. On behalf of Sunrisia, the representatives and hosts simultaneously are – Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta and members of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce. It is not ruled out that President Válîd Sâlúbĕr might partake as well, however, for now only Vice President Amíc Fútûra has joined the rest in the ceremony.

The original intention was to hold the SOWEFTA–Daredland summit, where the Integration Protocol would be signed. The Daredi side made such a request during the most recent meeting of the SOWEFTA–Daredland Cooperation Council, where the Daredi representatives initiated the discussion. Daredland wanted to replicate the success of the association it reached in the MDAA–Daredland summit that took place in Conordo, Edereon. The Sunrisian side supported the request and said it would lobby the Daredi ambition to other SOWEFTA members in the exchanges between the 3 countries. Sunrisia also placed a bid for hosting such a potential future summit. Later, the Daredi government wanted to speed up the process. Considering that a SOWEFTA–Daredland summit would require a longer time to be organized, Daredland requested a quicker format. Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession Dries Schwarz visited Orentan and met with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, requesting for a quicker format. The proposition of the Sâlúbĕr administration was a signing ceremony between the 3 full members and Daredland, rather than a wider summit, since all terms and conditions were already clear at that point.

Daredland just underwent a political crisis, where anti-government and pro-government forces stood against each other. The anti-government side rose up against the Daredi government for a perceived bad domestic policy and corruption, calling for snap elections. Nevertheless, the anti-government and pro-government sides remained supportive of Daredland’s pro-Western Corentian foreign policy, giving the government props for the progress in that direction. In the end, the anti-government side won and the Daredi government led by the government coalition – Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD), agreed to snap elections. The short political crisis ended peacefully. Now, the Daredi people are holding united demonstrations in anticipation for the Integration Protocol to be signed between SOWEFTA and Daredland.

Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta said that after a long post-revolution road that Daredland had gone through, including this recent political struggle, the Sunrisian side hopes that the hopes and expectations of the Daredi people will be satisfied in Orentan in these coming 2 days. Just recently, the ceremony was also joined by Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên, who added his own welcoming gesture to the foreign delegations alongside Vice President Amíc Fútûra and Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta.

UNP demand fresh Unitary elections

United Nationalist Party leader Ablija Hejkovic has outlined a new official party move towards the calling of new Unitary elections. After walking out of the Unitary Parliament a number of weeks ago, the UNP have yet to return to full presence within Aygon. United Nationalist Leader Ablija Hejkovic made a statement outside the regional chamber in Podzia today.

"Good morning. You may remember that a couple of weeks ago the United Nationalist Party announced their move to boycott the majority of Unitary proceedings. We outlined our reasons clearly, the Unitary government ignoring the Montedorans vote to leave the Union. The Unitary Government systematically shutting down media outlets that traditionally speak from a pro-independence view, the current amount of powers that were removed from the Montedoran after the vote, that have yet to return. As well as the Alternative Liberals not paying the UNP any hede whatsoever. Refusing to meet with us, and when they do come to us they come with shut ears.

We feel that the Unitary Parliament was and continues to be gridlocked. Filibustering and loophole exploitation. Empty and useless debates about issues that were never going to be voted on, thanks to filibustering and loophole exploitation. The Union is not what it was promised, and that is why we the Montedoran people must forge our own destiny as an independent nation free from the grasp of Aygon. However, we understand that we can not do this under the current government. Anderson and her cronies will exploit every page of constitution, legislation, law, and decrees, in order to stop the progress of the Montedoran people into an independent, or even at least a devolved region. They as a minority government must rely on the rebels of each parties a long with their sickening pact with Soldurs Des, a party which annihilated themselves.

That is why the United Nationalist Party are calling for fresh Unitary elections to be held this year. Parties across Damsmar, Communist, Difference, Green, Independents. The Union isn't working and it hasn't done so since the Liberals came into government. We need Unitary elections for a government with a clear majority to preside within Aygon. A government which can at least work with the people of Montedoran and give us our devolution which we have had stripped from us. We need to stop the filibustering, the exploitation, the sheer criminality. Stagnation and neoliberalism is destroying all of The Union from within. Montedoran will not be the last to go if this continues, and in the interest of continued Unity I will be tabling the motion of No Confidence in the Unitary Government on the eighth, this Monday, with voting expected to commence the following week. Thank you all".

Reaction from Aygon has been one of discontent. Alt Liberal Unitary spokesperson Javrin Vintengo gave a statement to the media today "The Alternate Liberal Party and the Unitary Government regret the United Nationalists decision to table a motion of no confidence against the government. We will fight the motion, as a new set of elections will destroy the confidence and stability within Damsmar. Not only this, but an election at this untimely moment presents a security crisis. Commissioner Anderson will be in the Unitary Parliament all week debating against the motion as well as making a full and comprehensive statement tomorrow. The Alternative Liberal party will set forth its plans for debate in the following week ahead, in accordance with the Unitary Speaker and set protocol. Thank you".

A motion of no confidence in the Unitary Government can only be tabled once per six months and the party tabling the motion must be of "significant influence" within the chamber. Such significant influence is deemed by the Unitary Speaker whom is entirely independent. It is expected he will allow for this motion to be sent ahead to the stage of debates and amendments. The UNP by no means have this easy, and it is likely they will lose. However, the margin of loss will be very telling for the Government.

The Communist Party have said that they are working internally to come up with an official party line on the matter, but will encourage their members to engage in free debate within the Unitary Parliament which will be sitting every day next week, bar the weekends. Already, Soldurs Des and the Difference for the Trident have said that they will support the government in the motion. This is breaking news, so more information will come as time passes. The key here is the role of the Communists. If they allow for a free vote on the issue then the fate of the government is thrown up in the air. We expect Christina Anderson to make a statement tomorrow.

Daredland Becomes An Associate State Of SOWEFTA

SOWEFTA member states and Daredland have signed the Integration Protocol between SOWEFTA and Daredland. This has officially made Daredland a second associate state of SOWEFTA alongside The Seven United (Damsmar). The Integration Protocol would supersede the free trade agreement that existed between SOWEFTA and Daredland prior, integrating the country with the trilateral trade bloc deeper than before. It would not, however, supersede the bilateral Enhanced Trade and Investment Agreement that exists between Daredland and Sunrisia, nor would it affect bilateral treaties that Daredland has with SOWEFTA member states. On the contrary, the established association is expected to amplify the economic effects.

On behalf of Sunrisia, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta and officials from the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce were the ones to sign the agreement. Now, in order for it to go into force, the parliaments of 3 SOWEFTA member states and of Daredland would have to ratify it. On Sunrisia’s part, Minister Plénâta said that the Convet would ratify the agreement shortly and President Válîd Sâlúbĕr would sign it, in order for the treaty to become part of law in Sunrisia. Vice President Amíc Fútûra confirmed the words of Minister Díva Plénâta and said that the President would make sure to sign the bill relatively quickly, given the importance. That would complete the ratification process on Sunrisia’s part.

Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên congratulated the Daredi delegation with the successful completion of another key chapter in Daredland’s journey. The Vice Minister also asked that the Daredi delegation pass the congratulations from Sunrisia to Daredi citizens. Vice President Amíc Fútûra also gave congratulations to the Daredi delegation and even said that he plans to record a video message to the Daredi people, wanting to address and congratulate them personally, without a middle-man. Alongside his congratulations to the Daredi side regarding the achievement on SOWEFTA, Vice President Fútûra also wished for peace to Daredland, referencing the recent political crisis, rivalry between different interest and ideological groups, as well as the situation with Daredland’s territorial integrity. The Vice President said that Daredland deserves all the best and promised continued Sunrisian support in all of the country’s moves towards progress.

Following the signing ceremony, the foreign guests had been invited to dinner to relax after the proceedings in a less-formal environment, as well as celebrate the achievement made. Although President Válîd Sâlúbĕr was not present in the signing ceremony, Media Representative for the Administration and Cabinet of the President Agénâ Rûmár confirmed that the President would join Creperian, Ederi and Daredi delegations, as well as his own administration’s officials, in the post-ceremony dinner. In the meantime, the Convet would proceed with the early ratification of the Integration Protocol.

PNA Sets to Expand Military: Implements Emergency Conscription Law

With the Republic of Eikangaard calling on international cooperation against what it perceives as a global Socialist Plot, the Premier has announced that she has enacted an emergency mandatory conscription law to bolster the armed forces. The conscription law is intended to provide the EUSR the ability to defend itself in the event of war. While originally the current scope of the armed forces was intended to defend against an attack by the Republic of Eikangaard, the widening scope of the standoff has made it clear that current defenses and troop numbers will be insufficient. As such, the People's National Assembly has backed the Premier's emergency measure to expand the People's National Defense Army

The conscription measures affect everyone aged 18-22, ordering them to report their nearest recruitment center or military base to begin training. They will be given 6 months of training across any one branch of the armed forces, after which they will be allowed to return home with the understanding that they could be called up for service should war be declared.

"It saddens me to know that such measures are now required." Said Premier Maass in her address. "It was originally expected that any conflict would be regional and that our armed forces would be sufficient to repel any incursions by the Republic. However, it has become clear that the new president of the South has no intention of letting this remain a regional Eikan affair. His calls for a united stand against Socialism in all its forms has expanded the scope of this brewing conflict. He has made it clear that he will use any means necessary to stamp out the voice of the common citizen and worker.

I never wished to implement such measures, but with the risk of a growing coalition to destroy our burgeoning state and stamp out the rights of citizens and workers across the globe, we must be ready to defend our values. This is but the first step we will be undertaking to expand our armed forces for the defense of our homes and families. Rest assured, however, that we have no intention of engaging in an offensive conflict. As long as I am Premier, we shall remain committed to a peaceful diplomatic solution to these trying events, but remain ready to defend ourselves in case of war."

The Premier's suggestion that this conscription measure was only the beginning of an expansion of the People's National Defense Army was met with more than a few puzzled looks from the general public. Already, the EUSR has sunk approximately 15 billion Skeids into the military since its inception, buying new equipment from the People's United Republic of Librira. This has lead to speculation from many, suggesting everything from a major naval expansion project with the construction of new drydocks in Reschergaa, to the implementation of new Eikan-designed vehicles and aircraft following the creation of multiple design bureaus. Whatever the case, it seems that the new budget entire the summer of 2019 will have a healthy chunk devoted to the military.

Election Season Begins in the EUSR: Premier Maas Leading in Polls

Despite the growing threat of war, the Eikangaard United Socialist Republics have officially entered the long-promised election season. With the voting date set to June 5th, the public has two months to make the choice as to who will lead them as Premier for the next five years. WIth global tensions growing, especially with our southern neighbor, this decision is one that cannot be taken lightly. Luckily the public seems to be quite on-board with the new election cycle. International pollsters monitoring the first few days of the race have determined that the ESUR should be ready for a 76% voter turnout.

These initial polls have also shown some interesting results. Current Premier Maass and her Social Democratic Party are leading in the polls by 46%, a healthy majority to be sure. Her main competition in this race would likely be Mr. Jaans Turviks, the current leader of the Grand Community of South Vindlund. Mr. Turviks is leading the more far-left leaning leader of the Communist Party of Eikangaard, who is trailing behind at a meager 28% of the polls. The last person in contention is Mr. Jame Mikkelsen, leader of the Partnership for a New Eikangaard Party.

An interesting entrant of note, despite a much smaller voter base, is the honorable Emperor Bullet-Head. No one knows of his true identity. Some say that he is an interdimensional conqueror from the future. Others say he is a simple madman with a vision of a bright future for us all. All we do know is that he never leaves home without his bullet-shaped helmet and his fur-lined cloak. He intends to run in the EUSR, to push it through to a bright and prosperous future.

President Connolly Set to Visit Engleberg

The President will be leaving tonight on 1 day diplomatic trip to Engleberg where he is slated to discuss topics across a broad spectrum, ranging from the MDAA-ACCS feud to the future of Fort Brightwell and existing military infrastructure in Corentia. After, he'll make his way by plane to the Seven United. Connolly aims to reduce tensions and restore some relations, which completely deteriorated after Pantorrum pulled out of the MDAA under President Pearce.

The trip comes amid tremendous pressure from global partners to get more involved in what has long been a downward spiraling situation. Instability and divisiveness has gripped Corentia for years, and has scarcely been more concerning than it is now. Sunrisia, the Seven United, and Engleberg have long been on the brink of hostilities. Both sides have been marred by scandals, mishaps, and poor judgement. "No side is without its mistakes," Connolly said at a press conference today. He went on to promise that he'd work hard on finding a "common ground" and a "workable solution", one that didn't leave the continued a "smoking lump of ash with borders".

The blame for tensions in Corentia is often set on one side or the other, but the Pantorran Government has remained mostly undecided as to who it will support. Outside the White House, Connolly gave hopeful words. "I have no doubt," he said to a crowd of reporters, "that this crisis will be resolved long before we're forced to pick a side."

Special Counsel Concludes Investigation

Ten months ago next Tuesday, the Justice Department created a Special Counsel to investigate claims that 3 Republican Senators colluded with an unknown third party to manipulate election results in their own races. Multiple Senators, namely the three under investigation, have tried repeatedly to kill the special counsels investigation through use committee memberships and congressional powers. Authorized by the Attorney General, and with special protections from the Senate Oversight Committee, the investigation continued against Republican protests.

Last week, Special Counsel Andrew Treaster submitted a report to the Attorney General who released a summary to the Senate Judiciary Committee. In his summary, Attorney General Simmons revealed the key findings in the report. While Mr. Treaster was unable to determine the identity of the third party, he did submit unrefutably sound evidence of collusion. In the report were recovered emails and text messages, discovered notes and journal entries, as well as phone call transcripts, all showing the three Senators in contact with the same IP address that would be used to hack election sites across their state and submit fake ballots. The Special Counsel discovered that nearly 213,000 fraudulent ballots were submitted across the state in question, influencing the results just enough to ensure their narrow victory.

The Attorney General announced they would pursue criminal charges, and earlier this afternoon all three Senators were arrested by Federal Marshals. The Democratic governor of the state is expected to nominate three Democrats to fill the vacated seats left behind after the three Senators resigned. This is the first time in history that all three of a states senate seats were empty at once. Being held on a bail of P$1,000,000 each, the three Senators are likely to be found guilty and spend the remainder of their lives behind bars. The probe, which cost tax payers 3 million dollar over the last 10 months, is the first of two Justice Department probes into collusion since the election. The second probe ended earlier this year, resulting in criminal charges against former Secretary of State Elizabeth Ross.

Coup D'etat in Royal Union Ousts Monarchy, Proclaims Republic of Central Eikangaard

A sudden turn of events on the Eikan mainland today, as a sudden coup d'etat by rogue elements of the Royal Union's Military have seized control and ousted the current regime. General Gord Makks of the Royal Army of Eikangaard has seized power and named himself the current acting President of the newly minted Republic of Central Eikangaard. President Makks addressed the new nation from the capital of Mostog, outlining his hope for the new nation, and for why he overthrew the former regime.

"With the end of the civil war, the Royal Union of Eikangaard was weakened, but not defeated. We were allowed to retain a sliver of land in the middle of our once-great nation. The line of Idhnarnakots, which had led our country to ruin and division was ousted, their surviving members branded criminals and enemy to all states of Eikangaard. We thought our struggles were over, that we could rebuild. We were told that, under the new house of Sorensen, that we would rebuild a great Kingdom that would retake what was once ours.

These were all lies.

The Old Ways of Monarchy are outmoded. Obsolete. Done. We cannot allow those who consider themselves right to rule by divine right rule any longer. We have followed these people blindly, what has it gotten us? First, a impotent and useless government stymied in gridlock and corruption. Then a failing economy. Then a Civil War. Then a despotic Queen who hoarded all the wealth for herself and left us with nothing. We starved while she and her kin feasted.

It is time that the People of Eikangaard looked to the future. We must face facts, there is only one path forward for us now. We must decide our own future, all of us, together. We must use our individual talents, our skills, and our knowledge, to drag our broken and divided country out of the muck and mire of Monarchism. We must cow the destructive tenets of Communism, else we will be merely trapped under the boot of another oppressive regime.

To this end, I will open dialogue with the Republic of Eikangaard to the south. We will join with our countrymen again, and together we will forge a brighter future. I will remain as president only until such a time as our inclusion into the greater Republic of Eikangaard is complete. After this, I will consider my work done. I will step down once this process is completed, that is all."

Integration Protocol signed in Sunrisia, Daredis rejoice over Association with SOWEFTA

Daredland is celebrating the achieved status of an Associate Member of SOWEFTA. The Daredi delegation made up of Confederal Chancellor of the Daredi Confederation Eelco Lechner, Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Dries Schwarz and the Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation Friedrich Heuvel has signed the Integration Protocol with the officials of Sunrisia, Edereon and Creperia. Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner and Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession Dries Schwarz were the ones to sign the document while Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs Friedrich Heuvel was only present at the ceremony as the head of Daredi diplomacy. He was not required to sign. After the Integration Protocol had all signatures from all sides a commitment was made to ratify it by all as soon as possible. The signing was followed-up with the dinner invite by the Sunrisian hosts and was the Daredi delegation graciously accepted it.

Back in Daredland the nation is happy. The major cities of the Confederation are rejoicing over the occasion. Freihat, Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt, Aquildorf and other major cities are now seeing crowds in celebratory moods over the occasion. The pleasant thing about this is that those same people that protested on opposite sides in the recent political crisis (either on pro-government or anti-government side) are now standing in brotherhood over a patriotic occasion that unites them. Tonight they remember that they have more than just mere points of contact or simply something that unites them. It’s much more than that.

The National Council and the Council of States greeted the news separately at first but with similar standing ovations. President of the National Council Aagje Danmaar and President of the Council of States Jannes Hollar gave speeches to MPs at their own respective chambers of the legislature. It was later that the MPs from the lower house and the upper house of the United Confederal Assembly of the Daredi Confederation came together to congratulate each other. Similar reactions were at the Confederal Cabinet as well. President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan felt that he owed a congratulatory address to the nation as a formal head of state. A live address to the nation by the President was then broadcast.

“Even if our coalition does not get reelected in the snap elections it’s not a priority to us. We are contempt with the knowledge that we have followed and achieved success in the direction that we have promised to lead revolutionary Daredland in. Phase 1 is now complete. Daredland has become an Associate Member of both MDAA and SOWEFTA. No matter the geographic location the Daredi Confederation is now in the Western Corentian sphere. Whatever happens from here on, we believe and hope that our nation will continue moving towards a better tomorrow.

If we are chosen to continue our work in the next government as a majority we shall resume working towards phase 2 and hope to see the same success. It will be more difficult to achieve than the current results but nothing is impossible. If the nation chooses otherwise we will step aside and wish that our successors carry on in that trajectory. We are at peace with whatever happens because no matter the different theories and accusations against different members of our government, we will know that we have made our contribution to Daredi historic progress. Our coalition is named the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD). We have made sure to reach the half-way of a journey that is engraved in our coalition’s name.

Today During the regular monthly meeting of the foreign affairs branch of the national council posted a bill that would allow the company known as Ladoga INC who created Orwellian to extend an offer to Eikangaard that would allow Orwellian to be used abroad by foreign powers to help combat the tide of new radical groups on both side of the spectrum. Prime Minister Janique Faure-Martineau Loses Vote of No Confidence

Janique Faure-Martineau's Liberal-Progressive Government Lost a No Confidence vote today, after deciding to move forward with her plans with converting farm-land in northwest mainland Makenzie and Athabaska, despite the unfavourable opinions of her loosely formed coalition with the Green Party, and the other parties, besides the Qu'amarlie Islands Party. The main criticisms of this plan is that it would shrink the agriculture industry. Most political analysts say that it's more likely that the parties wanted The Prime Minister out, in light of her recent financial controversies. It was recently leaked that she has been charging things to her government expenses account, including a her vacation to Casino d' Île Agalynne, her Nouvelle Acadie-Lauréville renovations, and her recent purchase of luxury cars. She is currently under a parliamentary review on these allegations.

The Vote of No Confidence was passed 74-50 with the the Green, Eng-Language, and Centre-Conservative party all voted for it, while the only party to Side with the Liberal-Progressives was the Qu'amarlie Islands Party. The election has been called for June 24th. The polls currently have the Greens in the lead, closley followed by the new Democratic Action Party then the Liberal-Progressives are still closely tied with eh Centre-Conservatives, most people polled said they'd vote for the Liberal-Progressives if Janique Faure-Martineau would resign as leader of the party.

Makenzie and Athabaska Votes to Joins the Ventismar Union

Before the Vote of No Confidence on Janique Faure-Martineau, Parliament passed 119-5 to move to join to Venstimar Union, only the Qu'amarlie Islands Party voted against it. After months of debates, and talking about moving to join the Ventismar Union. The Party that spear headed this process was the Green Party, and the Liberal-Progressives went along with it in order to keep their loosely held coalition together. The Liberal-Progressives firmly said if they were re-elected into government they would not go through with the Joining of the VU, but every other party except the Qu'amarlie Islands Party said they would go through with joining the VU. One thing all parties agree on is if the VU were to federate Makenzie and Athabaska would leave the VU. Governor-General, Véronique Parrot-Leduc said she will conintue through with joining the VU, since 95% of Parliament voted to join, until the elections are held and the new government can choose whether to Join the VU.

Former USA SecGen Oliver Cromwell announces surprise bid for 2020

Former United Sunalayan Assembly Secretary-General Oliver Cromwell, who was replaced by Secretary General Spyros Dukas last year just announced less then an hour ago that he is running for Executive Minister of Layfet in 2020 on the Union Party ticket, shaking up current candidates both in and out of the Party. This comes as a surprise to everyone as after losing the Sec-Gen seat, Cromwell retreated from public life and hasn't been heard of since.

Many top party leaders from all the parties and senior politicians have pointed out that while Cromwell as impressive foreign policy experience and the "ere" of a statesmen, he lacks the domestic policy experience that former Executive Minister Edmond Dantes had. Cromwell has pointed this out however, saying in his speech that while he may be at a bit of a disadvantage that Polster or Crane has, he has never failed to make a deal or find the right people to make an informed decision.

Cromwell's resume will definitely give him a word in edge-wise and mean he is a serious contender in the race and while no current polls have been released, current candidates have all voiced their opinions on the matter with varying degrees of concern and worry. Polster's campaign has said that Cromwell will eventually back down and drop out and stand behind as a real statesman should be. Fitch, Whitaker, and Fujimori have not commented. Crane has posted on social media that he likes the challenge and that Cromwell will get the Union Party nomination and it will be a good fight between him and the statesman. Benson said is campaign is still optimistic regardless of how Cromwell plays the game. Morris has said that he intends to make a deal with Cromwell, but provided no details as to what that mean while Hastings has said she plans on dropping out.

Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá would be concluding the international tour with an official visit to Amestrris. Originally, the intention was to conclude the international tour with Creperia and afterwards go back home to Sunrisia, having visited 5 countries. However, the government of Amestrris issued an invitation for Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá to visit. Empress Declares Desire to Attend Layfetian Peace Summit

With military parades back on the menu, a coup in the Eikangaardian Royal Union, and a act to stand against Communism, Empress Ymira has broken in general silence on the global stage to express her displeasure with it all. Recently, Layfet announced its desire to host a meeting to help stop the militarization of the world and the empress seems to agrees wholeheartedly. As usual, Empress Ymira has expressed her displeasure with violent actions and disgust with complete lack of discussion among neighbors. She expressed her desire for the proclaimed Central Eikangaardian Republic to listen to the people living within its borders for how they wish to be ruled. Rezuan relief efforts in the area have slowed now that the safety of aid workers is uncertain. While the empress requested to speak with Eikangaardian rulers, many are skeptical or downright pessimistic, believing that the Eikangaardians will reject any offer to talk.

On the matter of the Eikangaardian Republic's request to stand against Communism, the empress had flat out refused to. According to the empress, a nation's ideology is not what should determine how it is treated. The issue lies on a case by case basis. Rezua has been attacked and also allied with Communist nations. The United Soviet Jason Republic was Rezua's main rival, a Communist state. Yet, Rezua's friend, the Kiezian Reich, is also Communist. Empress Ymira said that the way to judge a nation is by how it treats its people, how it treats other people, and what actions they use to achieve their goals. Rather than just discrediting a nation because of an arbitrary label, governments should make their own evaluations.

Most surprisingly, however, has been the reception of the empress' words. This year, college aged students voted apathetic to the empress' foreign policy and outreach programs. This radical shift, from being avid Everen Policy fans to non-action has surprised many Monarch and former Blue Party members. The so-called "Meaningless" Movement has picked up in many universities, especially after the empress' words. The most startling has been the resignation of many international relations majors. A brief interview of Kyle Mench, a former international relations major who has been a leader behind this shift helps to shed light on this issue:

"The issue we have is not with the empress, not directly. The problem is that we just don't see a reason to study something that's useless. People don't want to talk anymore. And no one wants to listen to Rezua. Eikangaard will reject our offer to discuss peace. Eikangaard will go to war and hundreds of people will die. There is nothing we can do about it. There's no point in wasting four years of our lives to be worthless when we graduate. We should just concern ourselves with ourselves. There's nothing to gain from speaking to psychopaths and ghosts."

The depressing message of the "Meaningless" Movement has received some resistance in schools, but in eastern provinces it seems to be the most popularly held opinion. This could be related to the fact that many Sword and Stars members are living in eastern provinces, and their message of non-intervention has begun to take a much more apathetic root in the hearts of our nations future. One thing is certain: if we do not inspire our youth to change the world once again, we will soon find a future much darker than what we promised them.

On an unrelated note, many Revonic Catholics are up in arms over the recent comments spoken by the Head of Novorussian Church. His message that "Aunhii should be slaughtered" has angered many religious in Rezua, but so far only the Revonic Catholic clergy has answered with an official statement. The author of the statement, Cardinal Lukas Schmidt, preached that the way of Christ is of acceptance and love towards all people. Cardinal Schmidt expressed dissatisfaction with the Novorussian Church's leaders and has urged them to meet with Revonic Catholic representatives to discuss the meeting of the Gospel and of the Christian Way of life in order to prepare for the Easter Season of repentance and forgiveness.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with Akaysha Maria Parker, the Prime Minister of The Nina Islands. I went to speak with Prime Minister Parker about The Nina Island's recent decision to adopted the Rusig as a second official currency. While I was there, however, I also bumped into Duchess Rebeka Lizabont. As acting ambassador to The Nina Islands, some might wonder why it would be unusual to see the ambassador in the prime minister's administrative building. That is what I first thought as well. Later in the day I visited both the Rezuan embassy and Rezuan naval base on the Islands and discovered some juicy news. While the naval base was rather dull, I overheard some staff at the embassy talking about how the duchess has not been returning to her room every night. After learning this news, I took some time to travel the city after hours and spied the prime minister and ambassador sharing a candlelit dinner. And after dinner, the two left together holding hands. I can confirm that the rumors of Rebeka Lizbont's bisexuality are in fact true.

So the question must be asked: Are Rezuans desirable among Commonwealth nations? With the addition of Rebeka Lizbont to the list, Rezua now has three women who are romantically engaged with foreign leaders meaning that nearly half of Commonwealth nations have leaders with kinks for Rezuan women. What makes Rezuans so attractive that they are such a hot commodity among our allies? There are many choices but I'll propose the ones I think are most likely. First, Rezuans are tall. Rezuan women are, on average, around 5' 4"-5' 8" and Rezuan men average at 5' 10"-6' 1". For many women, a tall partner is incredibly attractive. Therefore, it stands to reason that when Rezuans travel their height sets them apart from locals, making it easier to seek them out. Second, Rezuans have nice accents. When speaking English, many Rezuans have a tendency to over-stress their vowels, creating smooth, flowing words. For many, an exotic accent is a turn on. And since most of the Commonwealth speaks English, to hear an accent might be attractive. Third, Rezuan eye and hair color combinations are rare. Many Rezuans have hair-eye combinations not as common in other places. For example, the most common hair-eye combo in Rezua is brown hair and grey or blue eyes. Second to that is blonde with blue or amber eyes. The third most common are redheads with green, grey, or amber eyes. Such combinations are signs of Revonic ethnicity and are uncommon in Commonwealth nations. And since many are suckers for a certain eye or hair color, Rezuans must cause quite a stir abroad.

Prime Minister Akaysha Parker is sending a delegation to attend Layfet's upcoming De-militarization summit. As part of the Rezua Protectorate and the Nina Island's connections to Rezua, not to mention the rumors that the Prime Minister is currently dating Rezuan Duchess and noblewomen Rebeka Lizbont,, this should come as no surprise that as soon as Rezua announced their attentions to attend, the Nina Islands followed suit.

While no member of the Nina Islands' delegation has been formally announced, the hasty way that Lizbont was offered Nina Islands citizenship could be a possible indicator that she has been chosen to represent the islands instead of the Empress, which would honestly cause of public relations disaster and international issue in regards to currently Lizbont being the unofficial ambassador to the Islands, This would also indicate that the Nina Islands was planning to attend the summit previously but hadn't announced it yet.

Much like in Rezua and across the world, the University of Nordipolica - New Kingston reported that the number international relations and international studies majors has declined in the last year, with only 3 new international relations/studies majors have been announced for Spring 2019 semester. Many students and citizens across the Nina Islands say that if the summit fails or simply doesn't have enough attendees, then it will prove the world no longer cares for preventing war and opening international dialogue.

Speaking of International discourse, this viewpoint has prevented the Nina Islands from introducing legislation for the Nina Islands to join the United Sunalayan Assembly.

National Service Bill Passed
Today, Her Majesty Queen Karen alongside the executive cabinet signed into law the very long awaited and carefully crafted National Service bill. For those who are not aware, the idea of National Service was brought several times in the past, including after WWII, when Belanticans were drafted into the armed forces. Since WWII, no such law existed due to the lack of desirability among MPs, and a steady flow of recruits into the armed forces. But in recent decades, Belanticans have begun to shy away from serving in the military, with reasons extending to outright fear, rampant pacifism, and the desire to work in more comfortable and better-paying civilian professions.This has created a problem for not just the military keeping their numbers where they need to be, but also other branches of the government that are finding difficulties filling positions, such as federal police agencies, border protection, education, and even the medical system.

Which is why the idea of National Service was brought up in 2017, when the affects were starting to show. Initially, the concept of National Service would be strictly for military purpose in order to maintain a force large enough to defend Belantica from her enemies and adversaries, which is currently growing with heightened tensions with several nations in Corentia and the rapid and imperialist expansion of the MDAA. But, MPs decided that this concept can be used to fill other governmental positions that handle civilian affairs. This has resulted in the bill being crafted in a way that will satisfy these demands.

As it stands, the law, going into effect on July 1st, will require all Belanticans between the ages of 18 to 35 to sign up into a system. While signing up, citizens would need to state medical, mental, and physical conditions they have in order to ensure they cannot be sent to military service. In addition, Parliament is still creating a list of exceptions to the National Service law, stating "putting those into the military or police forces who shouldn't be there in the first place is socially irresponsible."

The signing of the law has drawn mixed reactions from the general public. Currently there is still many who don't know they feel about it, whilst others are choosing to either support the new law, or go against it. Minor demonstrations have sprung up in cities against the new law, with the intention on reversing the law entirely. However, with the current state of affairs in the world, many expert say that Parliament will not reverse this decision anytime soon.

Parliament declares victory in the Border Territory

Hyancourt, 08 April 2019 -- After nearly 3 years of on and off fighting between various groups, the Union Army has reported to the Provisional Government that nearly all major threats to stability in the Border Territory with The Bohin have been eliminated, with terrorist leaders either arrested or killed in action during the Army's most recent offensive into the small city of Qalb Lawzah. In Parliament's announcement, an overall victory was declared and began procedures for withdrawing most forces from the territory.

Many complaints were made in Parliament following the announcement, as the usual crowd of Republican Party MPs voiced their complaints regarding the length of the operations. Citing that "the whole thing should have taken months at the least, not three years like it wound up being because of the ineptitude of Union leadership." (Hon. Laffaux-Friedrichsland Economic Compact to launch in June

Hyancourt, 10 April 2019 The Governments of Laffaux’s capital city, Arces et Jaxu, and Friedrichsland’s Mwenge have finally been finished negotiations to establish a special economic compact between themselves. The "Twin Jewels of South Ziamban" as they have so often been referred to have petitioned Parliament to recognize their special economic compact, a special kind of legislation unique to the Union that grants a certain set of privileges to the members of the compact otherwise handled directly by Parliament. Special Compacts (SCs) are commonplace between cities and provinces that desire a level of autonomy in certain aspects, typically taxation or other economic focuses, from Parliament's oversight. The process to be granted an SC is long and challenging, as the members must first negotiate the terms between themselves, then elevate their petition to Parliament for review and approval. In the specific case of Arces et Jaxu and Mwenge, the pair have attempted to form a special economic zone between themselves twice before, once in 2001 and again in 2009, but the terms were rejected by Parliament due to the petition granting too many freedoms to the two cities. However, with many concessions, Parliament approved the petition on Tuesday, giving the two cities until the 1st of July to launch their new compact.

MPs from both cities have pushed the compact for years, explaining the many benefits both cities will be able to reap when the Compact is launched with three new Special Economic Zones that will be shared through the to-be-formed Greater Friedrichshaven Port Authority.

Tulpen's Payback

ARTWINGEN -- the Tulpen cabinet announced today their financial perspective for the budgetary surplus of around five billion Aurei. The surplus, dubbed the 'lucky break' was an unexpected addition to the government's 2019 budget, and had not been taken in to account when this year's budget was presented and voted on by parliament last September. So far the lucky break had not been allocated for anything, and the government has been juggling the spending requests from he military, ministry of education and the private sector for the past three months.

Only now has the cabinet decided what to do with this extra money. It won't be spent on fancy new weaponry, new schoolbooks or compensate for tax cuts. Instead it will be used for paying off part of Lindenholt's public debt, minister of finance Michiel van Harten announced this afternoon. The government, which owes nearly 1000 billion Aurei to the Artwingen-Louis Investment Bank will pay back a sum of 4,872,334 Aurei to the ALIB. While 4.8 billion Aurei is but a scratch in a debt of 1000 billion, Van Harten argued that it would give Lindenholt 4.8 billion Aurei of breathing room. Furthermore, the cabinet argued this move would serve to keep confidence in the Lindian economy and Lindenholt in general as a party that repays their debt when they are financially able to.

The move was criticised by the Lindian Labour Party, who called the plans unjust. They claimed that the government was too occupied with their standing with banks than they were with their standing with the middle class; arguing that the government should pay back tax revenue that is not being used.

Despite the opposition's critique however, the plans are most likely to pass parliament next week, as the current government holds a comfortable majority.

Opinion piece: Why the Tonnes conference will only serve to make the geopolitical situation worse

SANDER DE RIJKE -- is a political, social and economic commentator who has written bestseller books
such as "Economics: Why neoliberalism is good" and "Why socialism sucks".

Yesterday the Layfet government announced that they'd be hosting an anti militarisation summit. A summit
which will serve to bring world peace yet another step closer, except it won't. While I can only commend the
Layfetians for actually giving a damn (something I can't say of my own government) I must admit that despite
their best efforts no problems will be solved.

Right now, not a lot is known about the summit. We only know Pantorrum and Rezua will attend, and that's it.
While these names are certainly not irrelevant, the attendees will make or break this meeting. Admittedly,
right now, they're breaking it. This summit is at great risk of becoming an echo chamber, as the attendees
listed are all on the same page on most affairs of world politics. I can already tell you that the Rezuan
delegation will talk about their great achievements in Molenston, about how the world is becoming more
evil and corrupt by the day and depending on which side of the bed Ymira woke up that day there might even
be some sabre rattling. For Pantorrum this gathering is not so much a summit, as it is an afterparty for their
victory in the United Sunalayan Assembly.

One key player we have yet to hear from, but I am certain will also attend, is Rhodevus. Quickly followed by
the rest of the Commonwealth. Those with the slightest idea of Sunalayan politics know that this list of attendees
can only go one place: the aforementioned echo chamber. Foreign policy wise, these nations have one adversary,
which is the MDAA. Whilst the attending countries convene for world peace (or whatever) someone's bound to bring
up the absence of Sunrisia, concluding that they are against world peace. As none of the attending delegations has
any interests in defending Sunrisia, the echo chamber will eventually lead to another resolution-150/1-esque attack
on the MDAA, with the excuse that they're against world peace, or else they'd have attended. Right?

It only makes sense for not only the layman but also neutral states to pick a side in the current conflict in the world,
and that side is certainly not the diplomatically isolated MDAA. The disturbing thing is, the Sunrisians don't seem to be
defending themselves against other countries forming cliques against them at all. The reason for this is anyone's guess.

Minister Of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá Arrives In West Zilveren Berg, Smoya Set To Be The Next Stop

Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá has arrived in West Zilveren Berg, following a 2-day visit to Amestrris. Minister Sȏlítûdá flew straight from Amestrris to West Zilveren Berg, which is one of the last stops in a series of foreign visits, before the Minister gets to return home to Sunrisia. The next and final stop would be Smoya. Originally, Amestrris, West Zilveren Berg and Smoya were planned as destinations for a separate international tour after a break from the first one, where only 5 countries were visited – Edereon, Daredland, The Seven United (Damsmar), New Vesvai and Creperia. However, Minister Edén Sȏlítûdá decided to merge the planned second tour into the first one, with the goal of amplifying and pushing up diplomatic consolidation with allies and partners after Sȏlítûdá became Minister of International Relations. That is how the last visit to Amestrris was inserted into the schedule and was initially promoted as the last stop in the first international tour. West Zilveren Berg and Smoya would now be the actual finishing points.

Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá came to West Zilveren Berg basically hours after Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér left West Zilveren Berg, following a week-long visit. Minister of Security Spêctér went to Smoya next, where he is currently on an official visit. After Smoya, the Minister of Security would go to Amestrris for the last official visit, before returning home. Meanwhile, Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá would follow the exact steps of the Minister of Security in the further visit of the same countries, however, rather than military, defense and security, Minister Sȏlítûdá would continue handling the diplomatic frontier. Like the Minister of Security, Minister of International Relations Sȏlítûdá plans a week-long tour in West Zilveren Berg, as the country has become one of the more crucial locations to handle for the Sunrisian officials.

Minister Edén Sȏlítûdá is set to meet Chairman Shou Vedder and the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg. The sides would discuss the eventual elections that need to take place in West Zilveren Berg, as well as the impending withdrawal of Sunrisian special forces and ACREFOR peacekeepers from West Zilveren Berg after the key part of the young country’s post-war rehabilitation and clean-up is complete. That is what the West Zilveren side was made aware of from the very beginning of a post-war recovery period. From that point, Sunrisia would continue helping West Zilveren Berg rebuild without the involvement of the military. In order to realize the withdrawal of the military, a SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) would have to be implemented, something that Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér drafted with the West Zilveren Parliamentary Legislative Assembly, when the Minister was visiting the young country just now. Minister Sȏlítûdá would also reaffirm respect to the status of West Zilveren Berg as a non-bloc country under the Basic Law of West Zilveren Berg, which is why from the start Sunrisia did not plan for a military presence to be established in West Zilveren Berg. At the same time, the Security Treaty between Sunrisia and West Zilveren Berg would remain, committing Sunrisia to the military protection of West Zilveren Berg even without a permanent in-advance military presence. The Minister would reaffirm the Sunrisian commitment to the Security Treaty. On relations outside military and defense, Minister Sȏlítûdá would remind the West Zilveren Parliamentary Legislative Assembly that only an elected leadership of West Zilveren Berg will get to negotiate further trade and economic agreements with Sunrisia or SOWEFTA. These are but a few questions on agenda at the moment, during the much more comprehensive and multi-sided visit to West Zilveren Berg.

After the official visit to West Zilveren Berg is done, Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá would be going to Smoya as the final location, before going back home from an international tour. The Minister will meet Smoya’s President Leonardo Tizzare, the administration and cabinet. Minister Sȏlítûdá would also meet Smoyan MPs and visit the parliament overall. The Minister of International Relations would also aim to visit the Embassy of Sunrisia in Dronden. However, a key location to visit, will be the headquarters of the Sunrisian Corentian Command (SUNCORCOM) based in Smoya. The Minister would visit the Sunrisian military service personnel working on the contribution to regional stability and on providing security to Smoya as a state. The visit to West Zilveren Berg would still remain at record length, a week long, however, the visit to Smoya would last the same as to all other countries that Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá and Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér visited – 2 or 3 days.

In Smoya, Minister Spêctér is set to meet with local officials in the administration of President Leonardo Tizzare, including defense officials, as well as Smoyan MPs. As much as the Daredi government wishes to suffocate the Hasperan leadership, blockading those territories would harm the people, whom we are jointly trying to help. Sunrisian warships guarding the strait between Edereon and Daredland would ensure a safe passage of humanitarian aid into the self-proclaimed Hasperan Republic, a lot of which we would provide. The Hasperan separatist leadership will be pressured by the Sunrisian government to ensure a distribution of humanitarian aid to the occupied citizens, rather than having it be stolen and used up by the ruling clan.”

Former Executive Minister Dantes announces tour of several nations

Former Executive Minister Edmomd Dantes released a statement earlier this morning that he intends to visit several nations across the entire world in order to gain support from USA member states to vote for him becoming the next Secretary-General of the USA. Resolution 151, which would appoint Dantes to the position is divided and closely contested due to the ambitious overhaul of the USA that Dantes wishes to implement.

Dantes's overhaul has been described by the Pantorrum press as "VU-lite" as it would make the USA stronger then it is now, but still weaker then essentially would be a "world-VU". Dantes was previously in Pantorrum working with policy advisers, Ambassadors, and President Tom Connolly in order to develop a stronger USA. President Connolly was unable to comment to the Nordipolica Post but did issue a letter to the USA in support of Resolution 151.

"Dantes is a natural statesman, and I'm glad he is putting himself out there again. He is strong and wise, even though he lost so much with his wife passing away over a year ago" Anne V. Fitch, President of the Layfetian National Rape Recovery Center and Progressive Party Primary Canidate said about him. Dantes is well renowned across the world for his foreign policy experience even so much that relations with Belantica (of which relations are generally poor) warmed slightly during his administration.

Due to security reasons, Dantes' full schedule has not yet been released but he did announce tommorow he will be boarding a plane to Rezua tommorow where he will will speak at at least three universities. No other schedule details have been released. Time will tell if the world tour will be able get enough USA votes for Resolution 151 that will appoint him the next Secretary-General of the USA. If he does get it, he will become the 2nd Layfetian ever appointed to the post.

Communists place forward bill to advance local elections

In a statement today, the General Secretary of the Communist Party said that the party has put forward a new bill to advance the local council elections for Damsmar. Instead of being held in November of this year, the Communist Party put within the act "Declaration of Dissatisfaction in the Government and Advancement of Local Elections" that the local elections will be advanced to next month between the 10th and 15th of May. The "credible" alternative to Unitary elections "could be supported by the majority of the Unitary Chamber" says General Secretary Jeuves. Usually local elections for councillors/councils/regional representatives to local government, are typically held at different times in the seven states of Damsmar. However, the act sets to put them all on the one date meaning it will be a Unitary Local Election thus having a higher importance.

Clarifying their approach to the original motion of no-confidence (voting on Monday), the Party Committee announced they'll allow for a free-vote within the party. The new bill contains within it the wish to advance the original motion of no confidence, clarifying that the house is still dissatisfied with the government and instead of seeking Unitary elections, would seek the advancement of local elections in order to make a change to the "stale status quo".

Today the week of debate ceases for voting next Monday. It is expected that the new bill will be voted on Tuesday, since parliamentary processes can not occur during the official Easter break for our Unitary parliamentarians, lasting from Wednesday the 17th to Wednesday the 24th. Already, there has been reaction. Alt Liberal leader Christina Anderson said in Unitary Parliament today "We will oppose even the idea. If the house as expected votes for instilling confidence in this government on the fifteenth, then subsequent local elections are not only a contrary to that democratic vote but a complete waste of our electorates time whom are sick and tired of voting when it doesn't get them much change. We need to work on and work together, no more divisions and no more acts of political sabotage".

"Do you have confidence in the Unitary Government and the Commission?" In order for the Motion of No Confidence Bill to be successful, >52% of the house must vote in favour. That is 332 or more votes in the NO category. REMEMBER, A vote in the YES section is a vote IN FAVOUR of the Government.

Republic Increases Defense Spending

With the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic seemingly preparing for war by increasing both its military expenditure and troop numbers going into the middle of 2019, the Republic of Eikangaard has itself introduced a bill which would not only match the EUSRs buildup but exceed it. Bill 5672, which has just passed through the Senate by a comfortable margin of 176 votes in favor, 21 opposed, would see a 60% increase to the national defense budget going into the month of May, up from 22 Billion NSD, to 36 Billion. Bill 5672 also would add another 15% increase in the month of June and another budget increase of 8% in July.

This massive increase in defense spending is expected to assist in expanding the armed forces considerably, including laying the groundwork for a new recruitment drive which would see the Republican Armed Forces expand to a predicted 790,000 troops across all branches up from the current 670,000. This budget increase would also pay for the rapid modernization of the Republican Armed Forces. It's reported that Vaalspin Defense has reignited production of a number of ground vehicles for the Army and that the Air Force is in talks to purchase further aircraft from an undisclosed partner.

This increase comes at a cost, however. Both the education and healthcare budgets are expected to be slashed considerably over the next few months. It's expected that these cuts will total approximately 17 Billion NSD of the next three months across both budgets. It's unknown what the specific numbers will be, but it's predicted that between 6000 and 10000 doctors and teachers will lose their jobs.

Student protests have already popped up across many college and university campuses across the country, criticizing the move. However, independent polls show that the move is supported by the majority of the population, and a number of counter-protests have also been reported. "The EUSR has already shown that it cannot be trusted to leave us to our own devices." Says Mikeala Jovons, a student who is a member of the counter-protest at the University of Nentergaad. "They back terrorists within our country, and every day someone dies to one of their guns or bombs. We need to be able to defend ourselves until they are defeated and put in their place. The education budget means nothing if we're all dead anyway."

Johann XIV Anders Arrives In Skoghall
"Protests were unexpected by government"

Rezinskigrad, USWR - Johann XIV Anders, former reigning monarch of Skoghall (today the Skoghall Socialist Worker's Republic), has arrived in the city of Rezinskigrad, the capital of the Union of Socialist Worker's Republics and of the Ruzayevkan Socialist Worker's Republic, from Allentyr where he has been in exile for decades. The former royal was recently approved by the government of the USWR to spend the remainder of his life in his homeland by his own request after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Although there was no official ceremony, indeed his arrival lacked any pomp and circumstance expected on the arrival of a current or former reigning monarch, a large crowd had gathered outside of the Rezinski International Airport. Some were Skogs, hoping to catch a glance at their last monarch from so long ago, a look into their own past. Others, however, held signs denouncing the monarch for his role in the oppression of the working classes of his kingdom - and his later defection from the Union of Socialist Worker's Republics that branded him as a class traitor.

Although part of the deal made with Johann XIV Anders stated upon arriving back in the USWR for the first time in decades he would be required to sign away any claims to the throne of Skoghall for a second time - he later recanted his abdication after fleeing the nation - many citizens throughout the USWR have expressed concerns. "Even if he does not advocate for the return of the oppressive regimes under monarchies, many might use his presence in the nation to legitimise their claims to better governance," said Johann Peterson, a resident of the Skoghall SWR who came to the airport today to protest his return. "There's some people who long for the oppressive past, still."

The National Government has stated that they did not expect protests for his arrival in Rezinskigrad, but police were present just in case. Chief of Rezinskigrad Police, Pyotr Stolypin said that the protestors remained "absolutely civil, there was never any threat of conflict." He applauded the ability of USWR citizens to protest peacefully against an oppressive figure, "I think in other countries their protest could have gotten out of hand easily." The government has stated that extra security and military will be present for the arrival of the former King in his former nation after the turn out in Rezinskigrad today.

Johann XIV Anders will remain in Rezinskigrad until after the celebrations for the 100th Anniversary of the Communist Revolution in the USWR, to be held later this week. Party officials have stated that the former King will be present at the celebrations, where he will abdacate his - and his descendant's - claim to the Throne of Skoghall in a public manner, and will celebrate the achievements and victories communism has brought to the peoples and countries of the USWR.

Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation (OAG) considers opening an investigation on the alleged corruption of the current government officials

The Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation (OAG) has announced a possible investigation into the corruption of Daredi government officials which was alleged by recent anti-government protests. The acknowledgment of the protester demands and agreeing to snap elections by the Daredi government was seen as an honorable move by many that prevented a larger crisis and proved the Daredi government’s disinterest in any power grabs. That is what proved the key difference between the current revolutionary Daredi government and its predecessors. At the same time the concessions given to the opposition gave more ground to the theory that the government has acknowledged its ‘darker side’ and could have also submitted to the anti-government side to ‘walk away clean.’ In other words many are now looking deeper into the corruption allegation and the possibility of government officials trying to cover that up or being ‘forgiven’ by giving concessions to the opposition.

The Office of the Attorney General informed the press that it might launch an investigation into the corruption of current government officials. A new potential investigation would pile on top of an already wide list of ongoing investigations that the Office has. Those investigations are aimed against the former government of Daredland that was overthrown in the Flaming Revolution. The majority of them are aimed personally against ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer who is enjoying political asylum in the self-proclaimed Weniges Reich and simultaneously in the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg. But a potential new investigation would not distract from the other ones and would not put too much pressure. The Office of the Attorney General is wide.

The news of the Office of the Attorney General possibly looking into the corruption of current government officials was taken positively by many. It was among the demands by the anti-government protesters. The optimists say it proves the Office of the Attorney General to be an independent institution serving the citizens and not the government. The skeptics say that the Office of the Attorney General serves the government and will either refuse an investigation, imitate an investigation or come out with falsified results excusing the government. From the start the skeptics were saying that the Office of the Attorney General is part of the government and the state apparatus that the protesters were demonstrating against. Depending on the Office of the Attorney General for a fair investigation on the current government is ‘useless’ and ‘counter-productive’ according to them. The Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD) opposition party went further and said that the current Office of the Attorney General only exists to discredit and prosecute the previous Daredi government and ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer personally.
