NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

New Vesvai Introduces 1-Year Visa-Free Travel For Citizens Of Sunrisia, Daredland, West Zilveren Berg, The Seven United, Edereon, Creperia And Smoya

New Vesvai’s parliament has voted unanimously in favor of giving 1-year visa-free travel to New Vesvai for citizens of even 7 nations. All of them Corentian. The 7 nations are: Sunrisia, Daredland, West Zilveren Berg, The Seven United, Edereon, Creperia And Smoya. New Vesvai’s government’s decision was influenced by Sunrisia’s recent giving of 60-day visa-free travel to citizens of New Vesvai. Sunrisia is the main military ally and protector of New Vesvai. The Seven United, Edereon and Creperia are MDAA members and that is an alliance that New Vesvai has a strategic security partnership with. All of this has been the primary guarantor to New Vesvai’s security, independence and existence. Daredland and Smoya are both associate members of MDAA. Daredland is also part of the Council of 3 with New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg.

The decision by New Vesvai to give visa-free travel to these select nations is a step towards creating a common space between the peoples of New Vesvai and these select Corentian nations. It is part of New Vesvai’s foreign policy of entering into a strategic alliance with the democratic world of Corentia. A personal alliance with Sunrisia, a strategic security partnership with the MDAA bloc, membership in the Council of 3 and visa-free travel – all are steps aimed at getting New Vesvai accepted by the team of democracies in Corentia.

At the parliament Prime Minister Matteas Noran referenced a discussion had by New Vesvai’s and West Zilveren representatives in the meeting of the Council of 3. The discussion was about West Zilveren Berg having a Deep and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with SOWEFTA and New Vesvai wanting to know more about it. Based on West Zilveren experience PM Matteas Noran suggested that New Vesvai should seek a similar agreement with SOWEFTA. Right now New Vesvai has an Enhanced Trade and Investment Agreement with Sunrisia as a vital treaty to New Vesvai’s economy and development.

The Growing Eco-Tourist Scene

In recent years tourism into Damsmar has been rising, although stagnation has been reported outside of the majorly frequented tourist hubs such as Aygon or Podzia. However, while the raw tourist figures have been rising slowly this way we have seen an increasingly popular scene for environmentally friendly, rugged and sustainable tourism. Ecotourism is a form of tourism that advances the principle of sustainability, environmentalism and ethics into the tourist scene. Ecotourism works with the local nature and people to deliver to tourists a typically rugged, outdoor and cultural experience for tourists.

In 2009, there were 7 so-called Ecotourist 'Resorts' in The Seven United. Due to the Ecotourism and Ecotourist Resort Legislation 2006 all resorts, lodges or activity centres can label and certify themselves to be Ecotourist and/or part of the (high requirement) Sustainable Tourism Scheme in order to acquire a tax break for company proceeds. These seven registered resorts have since doubled to 14 in 2019 with two new eco-lodges to start operations this year. Although typically small scale, these resorts have a low impact and improve the image of Damsmar as a safe nation with a great environment and pristine nature to be explored and enjoyed by all. Sleeping in the open canopy, hiking through mountains and trekking through the rainforest while admiring, watching and listening to the Damsmarian wildlife, what is the impact of environmentally, culturally and economically sustainable ecotourism?

Typically located next to our rainforests, the ecotourism scene has made a noticeable impact to local communities that are isolated and economically deprived as well as increasing the publicity and educating those around to protect their environment for the benefit of all. In the small village of Variñegas to the west of Porfstewar within the Porfonegro Protected Park, the creation of an eco-tourist centred lodge and activity centre has brought money and sustainable investment into an area that was cut off following the creation of the Porfonegro Protected Park. We talked to village mayor Lopez Redondo and he had many good things to say about the new eco-tourist resort. (Translated from Spanish) "The creation of this new tourist resort has brought a lot of people, publicity and investment to our town. When the Porfonegro national park was created we were cut off, our investment and our people isolated from the rest of the Bailor and Damsmar. Now that the tourists have came, we have had everything return. Our town is lively again, even in what we may consider the non touristy parts of the year. The investment isn't bad investment, it hasn't brought us trouble or environmental damage. The people that come are typically young, enthusiastic and there are also other generations too, including older people enjoying the serenity of Variñegas a town with a lot of culture and history. Our culture is respected and admired by the tourists and that is fantastic. We have given us the locals a reason to stay here and continue our lives instead of just moving out to Porfstewar, or worse, Montedoran. Furthermore, the money stays in the region and doesn't escape off to some foreign island, as us the local people are benefiting from the new jobs, we are also seeing our local environment improve with more money being available to be put towards the protection of the Porfonegro Park. I'm glad to announce that the population of the Damsmarian Jaguar has doubled in the past two years and the forested area is expanding outside the park too. Variñegas is becoming an eco tourist hub for Damsmar and I think it is a great thing and not something Damsmar should shy away from. We all have a responsibility to make sure that we do not cause too much change, but for now this is truly a better time for Variñegas and its people and I hope it continues".

As ecotourism continues to grow in Damsmar, we ask what are the negatives? In one area a controversial development has caused animosity among locals. Near the source of Río Eurotas planned eco lodges appealing to backpacking, typically young and adventurous tourists has went down badly with the native population. The Montchaque tribe has inhabited the area for hundreds of years, with their village Montchaque lying next to the development, the natives say that it will erode their culture and in fact cause environmental damage to the area. Planning development was granted by the regional Bailorian government, and currently the Montchaque government are fighting this in regional court before construction begins in November of this year (2019).

However, it is known that ecotourism when done and managed correctly, can have a massively positive impact on the local economic, environment and culture. The Unitary Government wish to emphasise eco-tourism and sustainable tourism within their goal to boost overall tourism in general. It is projected that by 2025, Damsmar will have over forty certified ecotourist resorts. Like it or not, they are going to stay.

King William II Dies, Cause Unknown

King William II was found this morning at 7:19 am after passing in his sleep. He was found by his steward, who reported the tragedy immediately. The royal doctor determined the time of death to be around 4:15 am. The death stunned Prince Jacob, who's mother passed away just 4 years ago. The cause of death remains undetermined, as Doctor Kline noted that the death was much to soon to be conclusive.

Prince Jacob was immediately pulled from his royal tutor and thrust into the most powerful position in the country, the first 18 year old Monarch in our nations history. He now faces a lifetime of challenges, the first of which is governing a nation as a teenager just hours after his fathers tragic passing. King William IIs death has left the nation in mourning, and the stock market in turmoil. The LNSE Index has dropped 197 points and the Lylhorion Dollar has lost .02 since 10 am this morning, primarily due to economic fears that usually accompany a new king in Lylhorion. The economic fallout of the Kings death has been intensified this time around due to the heir apparents age and inexperience.

King Jacob gave his first address as King of Lylhorion outside the Royal Palace today.

“My father was a brilliant and inspiring man, who worked every day to see the nation he loved prosper. I loved him with all my heart, he will always be remembered. Not only by myself and the rest of our family, but by Lylhorion and the rest of the world as both a man of impeccable honor and unquestionable dignity.”

After an emotional moment, the young king attempted to relieve concerns over his age and inexperience.

“I am aware that many in Parliament and the media have criticized me for both my age and inexperience. They’ve suggested ideas such as bypassing my claim to the throne and coronating my uncle, David, as King. I would like to remind them and all others, any such notion is treason of the highest order. I am young, but I have stood by my fathers side for the last 5 years as he prepared me for what we all know would come one day. His passing was fast and tragic, and well before his time. But my claim to the throne of Lylhorion is the only legitimate claim. I will continue to seek the advise and council of my fathers Ministers, and I will make it my mission to preserve the peace and stability my father has for the last 2 and a half decades.”

Multiple members of parliament have suggested intervention in the royal process, arguing the new king is far to young to be invested with so much power. We will continue to watch this story unfold, and we will bring you new reports on the fate of countless programs that could see and end under King Jacob.

West Zilveren Berg Proclaims New Kengara As Its Capital City

The Parliamentary Legislative Assembly has voted to recognize a new city, still under construction and developing, as the national capital of West Zilveren Berg. That city is going to be New Kengara and the project’s ambition for the future is to hopefully turn it into a megalopolis or a mega-city. Of course, time is going to be needed for this dream to be achieved. New Kengara is being built on the ruins of previous cities that were not lucky enough to survive the war and city-planners are looking at ways how to incorporate surviving infrastructure and combine it for the project of New Kengara. Although a capital city by law, the government of West Zilveren Berg will have to be based elsewhere, until the growth of New Kengara achieves momentum. New Kengara has already been incorporated into the Basic Law for the State of West Zilveren Berg as the official national capital. The Parliamentary Legislative Assembly presided by Chairman Shou Vedder has given Sunrisian companies monopoly in designing and constructing the city. The only request was made that Surnisia respect the surviving cultural inheritance that was not destroyed in the war and integrate it into the landscape of the new city.

Chairman Shou Vedder stated:

Giving Sunrisians a monopoly on designing and constructing New Kengara is the least that West Zilveren people could do for Sunrisia after saving us from hell and helping us get back on our feet to this day. Even after New Kengara rises from the ground, investments and the creation of international business centers will make it blossom real quick.

New Kengara is named in honor of the town of Kengara that used to exist in the formerly-united Zilveren Berg and situated in a more southwestern direction. During his reign, Supreme Leader Rhul Gorm launched a nuclear strike and destroyed the town of Kengara as a show of force to the world, as well as to intimidate the nearby rebellious city of Fenru and instill fear into the rest of Zilveren population to discourage dissent against the ruling regime. The blood-thirsty tyrant was eventually removed from power by the 3-nation coalition of Amestrris, Librira and Sunrisia, which also later destroyed what remained of the dictatorship’s forces. The tyrant Gorm got off easy and was quickly killed during the war, instead of being captured and prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

New Kengara, in contrast to spiritual predecessor Kengara which was a town, is intended as a megalopolis or mega-city. If the project proves to ambitious for the West Zilveren pocket, the country might settle for a decently-large city, although, it is still planned to be the energetic core driving the rest of West Zilveren Berg towards development.

Happy Independence Day! Celebrating a Nation's 226th Birthday

Today, March 27th, marks an important day in the history of Belantica. This day marks officially when Belantica won her independence from Capsland 226 years ago in 1793, and since then, many changes have underwent. It is a day of celebrating and rejoice from Belanticans everywhere, from the bustling cities, to the quiet countryside, to the highest peaks, and to the expressive coastlines. It is a day that transcends the things that keep people apart, as a nation comes together to celebrate the founding of not just a nation, but an identity. For many Belanticans, this isn't just their home, this is who they are.

Over the past 226 years, Belantica has undergone many changes, and continues to do so. An ever-evolving nation, that while it recognizes her past, but also looks towards the future. Many mistakes were made, but also great successes were created. To recap, we start with the Federation, lasting from 1793 to 1854, and while it had it's benefits of providing secutrity and establishing Belantica as a nation, it wasn't truly fair , and became corrupted. A civil war was fought, which led to the Federation being reformed into the Allied States, a grand and long era where Belantica really begun to make her presence known to the world, going from a normally forgotten spot to the east of Corentia, to becoming a global hub for business, trade, manufacturing, and becoming a role model for democratic rule and stability for a very long time. But even then, the era of the Allied States drew to a close with the elections of 2016, which saw the ousted and still on the run former prime minister, Winston Krump, being overthrown for trying to change Belantica into his personal assets. The people stood up to him, and in a bold move, created a new government afterwards while retaining the positives from past eras. We are still at the beginning of this era, under a newly established crown of the people, with our own monarch that is home-grown, that being Queen Karen Pearson, who while still young, understands the needs of Belantica as we move further into the 21st century. While some may not support her rule, many feel that she will continue to guide the nation on the right path, and continue to grow it into something truly remarkable.

So today, we continue to celebrate this nation's founding 226 years on. Almost every city and town will host fireworks and festivals. Parades would be commonplace, as with music and free admissions to museums across the nation. As with past presidents, Her Majesty will deliver an Independence Day address later tonight, reflecting on the past and setting goals for the future. In addition, there will be a special orchestral performance broadcast on BTV this evening by the Center City Symphony Orechestra, playing traditional folk songs and many patriotic-themed songs. Plus, realizing that the fireworks displays in the capital area will draw out extra people tonight, many transit companies and agencies will be providing free service all day in order to cope with the extra traffic. Tolls on all BEXA expressways will also be suspended for the next 3 days, allowing free driving to major tourist spots all around the nation. From us here at Belantica Today, we wish everyone, no matter where you are in the world, a happy Independence Day.

Sunrisia Hosts Daredland’s Confederal Minister Of SOWEFTA Accession Dries Schwarz: Integration Protocol May Be Signed Earlier

Image

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr is hosting Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of Daredland Dries Schwarz at the Presidential Palace, Orentan, on an official visit. This is taking place simultaneously to Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá being on an international tour across 4 Corentian states and New Vesvai. One of those 4 Corentian states is Daredland, where Minister Edén Sȏlítûdá is scheduled to meet government officials of Daredland. Part of Minister Sȏlítûdá’s agenda is the expression of Sunrisia’s support to the association between Daredland and SOWEFTA.

In Orentan, Daredi Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession Dries Schwarz is exactly because of that reason. The scheduled meetings for the Daredi guest are with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, Vice President Amíc Fútûra, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta, officials of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce, as well as possibly the members of the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr said that there is a possibility that SOWEFTA and Daredland might be able to sign the Integration Protocol and establish an association earlier than expected. For an association to be established between MDAA and Daredland, the MDAA–Daredland Commission needed to plan a summit, where delegations of MDAA member states, MDAA associate state (only Smoya at the time) and the delegation of Daredland needed to gather, in order to finally sign the agreement. The summit took place in Conordo, Edereon and the agreement was signed, making Daredland the 2nd associate state of MDAA.

The SOWEFTA–Daredland Cooperation Council have been in an active working dialogue since its’ formation. The last meeting was held 2 weeks ago, being initiated by the Daredi side and being directly linked to the procedure of finally signing an agreement and establish an association between SOWEFTA and Daredland, the same way that was done between MDAA and Daredland. Nevertheless, President Sâlúbĕr may not need to be as lengthily. The Sunrisian President has already had conversations with his counterparts in Creperia and Edereon, and cabinet members within the Sâlúbĕr administration likewise have kept up contact with their Creperian and Ederi counterparts. This was part of Sunrisia’s lobby of an association between SOWEFTA and Daredland. The international tour by Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá also partly includes the agenda of lobbying the same proposal to other SOWEFTA members, who are among the designated countries in the Minister’s international tour.

According to President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, the successful inter-SOWEFTA dialogue means that an association can be achieved sooner and easier than the existing MDAA association for Daredland. Sunrisia has placed a bid to have the signing ceremony in Orentan to the agreement of other parties involved. The President has already issued invitations to the foreign delegations to Orentan for the signing ceremony. Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá has and will reiterate the President’s invitation as the tour continues.

King Jacob Dismisses Prime Minister

Following statements made by Prime Minister Peter Niles, His Majesty made an announcement in the Royal Rose Garden.

“Prime Minister Niles has served our nation for 16 years as a member of Parliament. He has spent 6 of them as Prime Minister. We thank him for this service, and we thank him for the strength of character he has shown at challenging times. Unfortunately, Mr. Niles no longer represents the type of Prime Minister Lylhorion needs right now. Effective immediately, I unilaterally dismiss Mr Niles as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lylhorion. I command Parliament to select and propose to me a new Prime Minister, one I will find suitable.”

The move represents the first time a King has exercised the power to dismiss the Prime Minister. Many say it was a power play by the king, a reminder to Members of Parliament that he is the monarch and they are dismissable. He’s expected to dismiss as many as 4 more Ministers of Parliament, following a Press briefing where they and the Prime Minister heavily criticized His Majesty’s intelligence.

Some expect HM to dismiss Parliament entirely and trigger a general election, should the body continue and work against his ascension.

Johann XIV Anders To Return To Skoghall
"Last King of Skoghall Approved by Government"

Image

Rezinskigrad, Cill Airne - In what can only be described as a historical occasion, the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Socialist Republics of Cill Airne has announced that after a long process of deliberation, Johann XIV Anders will be permitted to enter the USRCA. Johann XIV Anders was the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Skoghall, today one of three Socialist Republics in the union. Johann XIV Anders became king at the age of 6 years old in 1945 when his father, Johann XIII Gustav died fighting against the Red Army - sent to liberate the peoples of Skoghall. Despite the young age, reports indicate that the last king of Skoghall took an active role in government, and ultimately made the decision to surrender in 1952, ending the year long siege of Kungenstad, modern day Zhestkiystad.

Johann XIV Anders would then become known as Johann Anders Skoghall, a regular citizen of the USRCA. He remained within the country for another decade when, in 1962, he defected and fled the nation. He has remained in exile from the USRCA but has requested government permission to visit on four occasions - in 1975 to visit his father's tomb for the 30th anniversary of his death, in 1979 to attend his sister's wedding, in 1983 to attend his mother's funeral and finally in 1999 to attend his sister's funeral. On all four occasions the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs denied his request, citing security concerns for the reason.

In February of 2018, however, it was announced that Johann Anders Skoghall had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which killed his sister in 1999. Since the announcement was made, discussions between the former monarch and Cill Airiochin government have been taking place, with the dying king expressing his desire to die in the country of his birth. The announcement today, made by People's Commissar Aleksandr Sokolov, head of Foreign Affairs, stated that an agreement had finally been made. Johann Anders Skoghall will renounce his claim to the Skoghall Throne for a second time upon arriving in Cill Airne in June; he will then be given an apartment in Zhestkiystad where he will remain under house arrest for the remainder of his life.

Under house arrest he will not be permitted any visitors that are not approved by the Zhestkiystad Worker's Council - the local city administration - and all doctor's reports must be given to the government as well. People's Commissar Sokolov has stated security measures will be put into place to ensure the safety of the former king, as well as the worker's of Zhestkiystad. "There will be no tolerance for activities contrary to the interests of the Worker's and Peasant's State. The Fatherland is for the people, and is of the people. Anti-Fatherland activities will not be tolerated just because of the presence of a traitor to the Worker's and Peasant's State. His presence is only permitted to grant a dying man's last wish."

DEVELOPING: Anti-government protests in Daredland call for snap elections

Image
Anti-government protests in Aurburg, Daredland.

First hundreds, now thousands of demonstrators have been pouring out into the streets in anti-government protests. The demonstrators are angry at the current government for slow economic growth and alleged corruption in the ranks of multiple officials, including MPs and possibly even cabinet members. The capital Freihat has been the epicenter where the demonstrations started out in but now people are going out into the streets in other major cities. Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt and Aquildorf are seeing masses gathering in the streets. They are either marching in anti-government protests or gathering in the streets. Primarily the targets for public gatherings are the major squares of the cities.

The current government led by the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD) had praise from citizens for its successful foreign policy of leading Daredland towards MDAA and SOWEFTA. In fact foreign policy has been the primary source of popularity and support for the government. It is where the government has been getting most props from the Daredi population and foreign policy has been what still keeps the government’s rating afloat. Daredland has successfully become an associate member of MDAA and Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Dries Schwarz is now in Sunrisia negotiating the establishment of an association with SOWEFTA. Just recently Daredland hosted Sunrisian Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér and Sunrisian Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá in Freihat. Daredland played a vital role in getting the Council of 3 off the ground which is a political organization that Daredland is a member of together with New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg. Daredi ex-Ambassador to Sunrisia Joan Armbrüster was elected Secretary General of the Council of 3. This almost makes Daredland a presiding member of the Council of 3.

But on domestic policy the PLFWCD governing coalition has not shown much progress. Promised reforms have been slow, somewhere not happening at all or not showing expected results. Economic growth has been slow and Daredland has been primarily dependant on Western Corentian loans. The visa-free travel with Western Corentian states has helped produce many Daredi emigrants who have been moving to Western Corentian nations. Edereon and Sunrisia have been the primary destinations or ‘dream lands’ for emigrants. The citizens are also unsatisfied with the poor handling of the territorial problems of Daredland in the occupied parts of Wenigberg and Haspera regions that are controlled by entities known as the Weniges Reich and the Hasperan Republic.

The government has abandoned the Weniges issue completely after ‘elections’ there. The Sunrisian special envoy Párêc Adstâtér helping with Daredland’s separatist problems has also been instructed by the Daredi government to abandon the Weniges issue. The decision to turn away from the Weniges front was criticized by an overwhelming majority of citizens. The executions of dissidents in the Hasperan Republic by the separatist leadership and the poor response (or lack thereof) to that by the government has also been condemned by the civil society as permission to have these types of crimes happen in Daredi territories even if they have broken away. Human rights activists in Daredland have previously criticized the government for not resisting the separatist leadership's treatment of people left behind in the Hasperan Republic after police crackdowns there. Worse things have happened in the Hasperan Republic since. Activists have also insisted that the soldiers of the Daredi Konfoderaleswehr stationed on the demarcation line with the Weniges Reich deserve pay increase and other benefits. But the economic underdevelopment will not allow to achieve this. Daredland will once more be forced to ask for a loan from Western Corentian nations which will plummet the nation into debt.

Another problem that has angered the demonstrators have been allegations of corruption among a number of Daredi officials of all ranks. The protesters have taken aim at municipal politicians, regional autonomous authorities, MPs within the lower house National Council and upper house Council of States of the United Confederal Assembly of the Daredi Confederation. The allegations have even reached the Confederal Cabinet and the Confederal Chancellery. Although the protesters are open to the idea that Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner may have been involved in shady activities but many hope that is not the case for President Franz Potesinan who is still respected as a leader of the Flaming Revolution. The demonstrators have wanted to call upon the Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation to investigate corruption allegations in the Daredi government but now many are doubtful how independent the Office of the Attorney General is from the government and whether a fair investigation or any investigation at all is possible.

The demands of the demonstrators to the government are to hold snap elections in the Daredi Confederation. The protesters are not demanding that the government resign prior but instead agree to cut the term short. So far a response from any government officials has not come out including from President Franz Potesinan and Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner. The demonstrators across Daredland have so far kept things peaceful and have not engaged in acts of radical disobedience that would disrupt public life, violate the law or violate the rights and safety of others. But the protesters insist that they will not leave until the government responds and agrees to negotiate. Or better yet: agrees to snap elections outright. The protesters are skeptical that this government will be able to make any changes in their domestic policy that would satisfy the population. That is because ‘it does not know what’s it doing’ and is viewed as incompetent in certain areas according to many. Patience has run out. Even without resorting to radical means of disobedience, the growing and continued protests will put Daredland’s life at a stand-still and also the nation’s ability to function as a state.

Sunrisian Ambassador To Daredland Vísâ Auctórît Holding Meetings With The Daredi Government Amid Daredi Anti-Government Protests

Image

Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of Daredland Dries Schwarz is currently on a visit to Sunrisia, meeting with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, Vice President Amíc Fútûra, members of the administration and the cabinet, as well as parliamentarians in the Convet. The visit of Daredi Confederal Minister Dries Schwarz is focused on negotiations on an association between Daredland and SOWEFTA through the signing of an Integration Protocol between Daredland and SOWEFTA. Within SOWEFTA, Sunrisia has been the primary lobbyist and supporter of Daredland’s request for an earlier signing of the Integration Protocol. Sunrisia has also offered to host the signing procedure. That is why Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of Daredland Dries Schwarz is in Orentan right now, as the governing coalition in Daredland – Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD), leading the government of Daredland, continues fulfilling its’ electoral promises and realizing ideals engraved in the coalition’s ambitious name. Daredland was also a country visited by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér not too long ago in his international tour and has recently been visited by Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá in the Minister’s ongoing international tour.

Nevertheless, amid the visit of Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of Daredland Dries Schwarz to Sunrisia, himself from the Torch of Liberty Party (TLP) which is part of the governing PLFWCD coalition, Daredland has been seeing a wave of protests covering up the country. According to Daredi media, hundreds and later thousands of demonstrators have gone out into the streets, starting with the national capital – Freihat, and later spilling over into other major cities, such as – Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt and Aquildorf. The demonstrators are protesting the government’s failed domestic policy, economic mismanagement, unsuccessful reforms, failure to resolve the country’s territorial problems, contributing to the increase of emigration out of Daredland into Western Corentian countries, as well as alleged corruption among multiple officials in the cabinet, in the parliament and possibly even judiciary. The demonstrators are not calling for the resignation of the government, but demand early elections. The demonstrations remain peaceful and no radical means of protests have yet been used. Nevertheless, the Daredi protesters remain determined until the government acknowledges their demands. Based on the images and information coming out of Daredland, this is the largest wave of anti-government demonstrations in Daredland since the Flaming Revolution, which has brought the PLFWCD-led government to power in the first place.

Ambassador of Sunrisia to Daredland Vísâ Auctórît, who was appointed right after the Flaming Revolution in Daredland, has reached out to all parts of the government of Daredland amid this new political crisis. Ambassador Auctórît has been holding or has scheduled meetings, yet to happen, with the Confederal Chancellery, the Confederal Cabinet, the National Council and the Council of States of the United Confederal Assembly. The Ambassador is meant to speak with Confederal Chancellor of Daredland Eelco Lechner, President of Daredland Franz Potesinan, Ministers making up the Confederal Cabinet of Daredland, as well as with MPs in both chambers of the United Confederal Assembly of Daredland – the National Council, which is the lower house, and the Council of States, which is the upper house. Ambassador Vísâ Auctórît has admitted that he had spoken on a phone with Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên, filling in for Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá, and also had a phone conversation with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr before reaching out to the Daredi government. It is clear that the Sâlúbĕr administration instructed Ambassador Auctórît to reach out to the government of Daredland amid the developing political crisis.

Right now, the series of scheduled meetings between Ambassador Vísâ Auctórît and the Daredi government are ongoing, but before they began, the Ambassador gave the following statement to the local press and also to Sunrisian outlets that were there at the time:

We are in no position to interfere with Daredland’s internal affairs. This early stage of a political crisis is what the people of Daredland will have to deal with on their own, even if it may be a difficult and an unpleasant occurrence that disrupts the normal life of Daredland. On the other hand, it is good to see an active civil society that knows how to defend its’ rights and reminding the state apparatus about who is the actual power force in this country. It reaffirms that Daredis are a nation of free people.

On Sunrisian behalf, I am meant to tell the government of Daredland that we expect it to also remember that it was elected by citizens to represent them, thus the governmentis required to respond to whatever the citizens are unsatisfied with. However, this government of Daredland, based on the context of its’ accession to power, our interactions, our experience and what we have seen, it seems like this government understands and believes those principals. We are just making sure that there are no temptations to lean towards conspiracies by foreign adversaries or even paint these demonstrations as “counter-revolutionary” against the Flaming Revolution, so that the government could justify a tougher grip on power and pursue tough consolidation. There might be those “bad apples” after all, since the corruption allegations did not come out of nowhere.

However, questionable maneuvers on the highest levels is what we would probably expect from the previous governments of Daredland, especially the one that was de facto entirely led by former Chancellor of Daredland Friedrich Schäfer, a man who is now hiding from prosecution either in the self-proclaimed Weniges Reich, in the Englean Kaiserreich or elsewhere. People like President Franz Potesinan, Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner, other wonderful officials within the current Daredi government, and their peers, are clearly people, who represent other types of values than their predecessors. Therefore, we do not expect that there will be a necessity for a tough reminder about the fundamental right of the Daredi people to a peaceful protest or warnings against the use of force in regards to the peaceful demonstrations. The current Daredi officials are not the same as their predecessors.

Unfortunately, at this time I cannot comment anything more. I have to head out to meet the Confederal Chancellor, the President, cabinet members and lawmakers. I will also have to report back to the Department of International Relations and to the administration of the President. Therefore, no time for additional questions. Thank you very much and have a nice day.

BREAKING: Government agrees to hold snap elections, but will not resign until then

Image

As the anti-government protests in Daredland enter their 5th day the Daredi government has decided to give into the demands of the protesters. President Franz Potesinan has announced that the Confederal Cabinet, the National Council and the Council of States have all agreed to hold snap elections in the Daredi Confederation. Since all branches of the government are inter-dependent neither has the power to just sack the other. Instead they had to come together and agree on a mutual consensus in response to protest demands. Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner also confirmed that the Confederal Cabinet and both chambers of the United Confederal Assembly have come to an agreement on snap elections. Despite this the government will not be resigning as a whole and no officials plan to individually resign from their post so far. President Franz Potesinan said that the current elected Daredi government plans to finish the remainder of its mandate before the snap elections and complete at least some of its remaining campaign promises. This decision shows that the current government does not have much faith in the possibility of getting re-elected in the snap elections so it wants to finish its work while it is still in power. Confederal Chancellor Eelco Lechner explained that it was too risky for the government to resign in advance and temporarily transfer duties to a provisional government. That is because further political instability and frequent power shifts would play into the hands of Daredland’s adversaries at home and abroad.

Image
Anti-government protesters celebrating the government's
agreement to snap elections.
This culmination comes after 4,5 days of anti-government demonstrations over ineffective domestic policy. The current government led by the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD) has had approval for its effective foreign policy but domestic policy has been quite the opposite. Economic mismanagement, failed reforms, corruption allegations, failure to resolve territorial problems, the brain drain heading for Edereon, making Daredland fully dependent on Western Corentian accreditation and placing the nation in debt. All of these steps have been major misfires that have now caused the revolutionary PLFWCD government its complete mandate and cutting its term short (unless it might somehow get re-elected). Throughout the 4,5 days of protest the government and the unofficial leadership of the protesters held at least two separate meetings in Freihat Municipality Headquarters. The first meeting was aimed at laying all issues on the table and maybe reaching a compromise. But the second was already about the government confirming its submission to protest demands. In-between those two key meeting the different branches of the Daredi government held consultative meetings with the staff of the Sunrisian Embassy in Freihat. Also there were emergency sessions held within the Confederal Cabinet, the lower house National Council and the upper house Council of States separately. All branches of the government wanted to individually figure out a plan. Later different branches of the government already started meeting each other. The Confederal Cabinet, the National Council and the Council of States came together to form a strategy because these events concerned their joint faith. Fortunately a consensus was reached between different branches of the government. This fortunate outcome was key to avoiding a prolonged political crisis in Daredland. The cabinet and the parliament did not see each other as rivals each trying to sack one another or blame each other for the poor performance of the government. In the end it seems that a right decision was made and Daredland will not have to deal with uncertainty

Early on in the protests the opposition Party for Central Approach (PCA) and the Social Liberal Party (SLP) have joined the anti-government demonstrations on the streets in various cities and Freihat in particular. PCA and SLP did not attempt to claim leadership over the anti-government protests because time still needs to pass for them to fully gain public trust after the events that led to the Flaming Revolution. But at the same time PCA and SLP have seen a slight rise in approval rating after an active critique towards the governing PLFWCD coalition. The opposition parties challenged the government on domestic and foreign policy although the majority of citizens have been satisfied with foreign policy. Still a lot of the general critique was deemed legitimate by citizens and a number of arguments were even adopted by the anti-government protesters. The governing PLFWCD coalition accused PCA and SLP of populism. The PCA party especially has a history of being called out for populism and for often changing political positions based on what is the popular trend. The SLP party has been more consistent with its positions. Experts predict a rise in approval ratings for PCA and SLP parties for their direct participation in this latest citizen manifestation and for ‘being with the people’ at this time.

Unfortunately not everyone is satisfied with the outcome of the 4-day political crisis. There were anti-government protests but there
Image
Pro-government demonstrations protesting the need for
snap elections.
were also pro-government protests. The supporters of the government were in favor of the PLFWCD coalition leadership’s, praised the foreign policy and believed that the opponents of the government exaggerated the mishaps on domestic policy. The supporters of the government believed that the government needed to be cut some slack and given recognition for the positive achievements they have made. The argument of the pro-government demonstrator side was that people needed to learn patience and give the government a little bit more time to have the policies and reforms bring effect. Instead people want everything immediately which the pro-government activists saw as unrealistic. The pro-government demonstrators also believed supported the argument more destabilization was risky for Daredland because the nation unfortunately has enemies in the present that would use the hardships for their own benefit. The final argument of the pro-government demonstrator side was that the last elections along with the referendum were fair and democratic. A radical majority wanting to push forth their ideals wanted to discredit the elections and impose their wishes on the rest of the nation that has voted. The pro-government demonstrators saw the potential snap elections as an undoing of the last historic elections in the Daredi Confederation. In the end the PLFWCD governing coalition gave into the will of the anti-government side which made the pro-government demonstrators feel betrayed and view the government as weak and ready to submit to any radicals. The pro-government supporters did give props to the government for at least deciding not to resign and insisting that it would not happen before snap elections.

Governments "National Park Buffer Zone Bill" proves that by compromise the government can still receive support within the Unitary Chamber

The Government today done something they don't usually do, which is submit bills to parliament for approval. It is usually a mandatory process, especially in tradition and practice. However the Unitary Commission has been waving parliamentary authority and have been extensively using executive powers in order to pass acts and laws without the approval of the Unitary Parliament. Todays bill named "Protegente Nuestro Medio Ambiente Cerca de Parques Nacionales" (Damsmarian Spanish). The bill is innocent, establishing an environmental buffer zone around national parks, heritage parks and areas of protected biodiversity. It aims to encourage the regeneration of forests in the buffer zone, as well as discourage further deforestation and land degradation.

There are a number of compromises within the bill. In fact, it seems like this act is more of a way of gauging the support of the Unitary Parliament. The Commission most likely thought If they are able to get this bill through, then its likely if they done the same (through compromise and carefulness) they would be pass more bills through parliament. Bills, acts and laws passed through parliament tend to hold more weight than those not, and they take less time to enact than those passed through executive power. Passed with 498 votes out of 640, the Act was applauded and even laughed at. It was the first time the Unitary Parliament voted on a successful Government bill in a while.

What are the aims of the act?

Establish an environmental buffer zone around national parks, heritage parks and areas of important natural scientific (biodiversity, geography, excavatory) interest. Encourage the regeneration of forests around National Parks and within the buffer zone, to create corridors for the movement of wildlife. Further, to disencourage further deforestation by investing in sustainable initiatives within towns and communes that include educational programmes and economic investment. As well as disencouraging land degradation within buffer zones by increasing regulation on the use of named pesticides and herbicides. Finally, to disencourage mono culture farming within the buffer zone with educative programmes and environmental grants.

Key plans include

The creation of an official 0-250 mile buffer zone around national parks, heritage parks and areas of important natural scientific (biodiversity, geography, excavatory) interest. The distance will vary due to topography. The buffer zone will be governed by the following regulation enclosed within the bill.

$A 2.1m per year for 2019/20 and $A 1.9m per year for 2020/21 will be set aside from the Unitary Commission for the Environment budget, which will be put towards reforestation programmes within the buffer zones of all national parks, heritage parks, areas of important natural scientific interest. $A 900,000 per year for 2019/20 and $A 700,000 per year for 2020/21 will be set towards yearly reforestation subsidies given to registered farmers within the buffer zones. They will be able to apply for these subsidies if they are a registered agricultural farmer within the buffer zone. The pay-out for reforestation will vary on size of area reforested and depending on the circumstances of the individual/collective. A cap of $2,100 per year has been set by the UCoE. Pay-outs will increase on size of land owned reforested and the biodiversity of the trees planted. Pay-out will decrease with smaller size and lesser biodiversity.

$A 600,000 per year for 2019/20 and $A 400,000 per year for 2020/21 half of which will be set aside from the Unitary Commission for the Environment budget and half of which set aside from the respective regional investment banks, which will be put towards investing in buffer area communities to increase sustainability, educate for environmentalism and allow for current environmental programmes to be sustained and be lasting.

Farmers no longer have to pay a yearly sum ($A 200) for registering their plots of land with the regional authority. They will be able to avail of regional support free of charge from May the 1st. Collectives that register their land with the regional authority can expect to receive a collective subsidy of up to $600 per year. The trial of this collective subsidy within the buffer zone will prove useful for the roll out of the scheme outside of the buffer zones for the benefit of all collectives and individual farmers alike.

The use of pesticides and herbicides within the buffer zone will now be regulated by the regional environmental authority. The UCoE will establish six new bases of operation within the buffer zones in order to allow for increased access to regional authorities, and thus easier regulation. Registered plots of agriculture using pesticides/herbicides must record their use of said chemical agents as a survey is conducted on behalf of the UCoE on the affects of pesticides and herbicides on the interior national park, heritage parks or parks of scientific interest. Pesticide/Herbicide use will be capped yearly by the regional authority, depending on the case of each individual farmer/farmers.

The deal seems beneficial for the areas in the buffer zones. However some have said that regional corruption and number changing may scupper the attempts to regulate pesticide use and hand out collective subsidies, and some have said that not enough has been put aside for regional investment. Bear in mind, the idea of collective subsidies is an entirely Communist one implemented in order for the Communist party to support the bill.

Since it has passed the act will be in force by the 21st of April this year, however the UCoE (Unitary Commission for the Environment) have admitted that the entirety of the infrastructure for the enforcement of the act will not be in place until the middle of this year (2019).

Chairman Gustav Feldt on a visit to Sunrisia for a meeting with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, defense talks on agenda

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustav Feldt has gone on his first foreign visit. The trip is to an entirely different corner of the planet. The Chairman has gone to Sunrisia to meet with President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér. The primary topic would be defense and how the allies could further keep up active cooperation against North Baggnagian aggression. The Congress of National Sovereignty seeks to win over Sunrisian trust now that it holds leadership of South Baggnagia. Chairman Gustav Feldt admits that both nations might have disagreements on the question of democracy but find understanding in the importance of the South Baggnagian–Sunrisian alliance. Ideologically both nations might still be united in their anti-globalist views. The Chairman will ask that Sunrisia prop-up defense of the exclaved city of Neodvisni that is surrounded by North Baggnagia geographically. There is also a plan to ask for an increase defense of the border that remains a sensitive frontline area.

The North Baggnagian regime remains ambitious. They are always waving their weapons and artillery in front of our faces. The North Baggnagian dictator Fran Hapenic always talks about how his North Baggnagian Holy Army is destined to reunite the Baggnagian land in a “holy quest.” They have created an entire legend about it. Of course we would like to see reunification one day but the North Baggnagian propaganda is referring to reunification under their flag.

Obviously we cannot and will not make the first move. We cannot even make a move that would scare off the North Baggnagian regime from ever attempting a move against us and to forget this whole quest of theirs. We can’t do that without becoming aggressors. But we see that our lack of responsive action keeps them ambitious. They are not just talking about this quest of theirs all the time. They are escalating border clashes, have their planes invade our airspace, send over spies into South Baggnagia, try to finance anti-South Baggnagian forces inside our nation. They cannot invade us so they try to destabilize from within. But we see that they won’t rest. We must firmly make it clear to the North Baggnagian regime that a move against us would be suicide for them. I will be honest. If international politics were simpler I would go as far as to ask that Sunrisia put nuclear missiles in South Baggnagia. But it is obvious that such a thing is out of the question. Openly moving nuclear weapons around the world is dangerous for international stability. That is obvious. But the primary principle for me is that I would never bomb our own Baggnagian people just because there is a team of psychopaths ruling over the North.

There are other technologies on how to handle maniacs. That is also going to be something discussed with the Sunrisians. We will have a deterrence strategy drawn up to ensure the safety of South Baggnagia and the stability of the region. The North Baggnagian regime will not be able to threaten and blackmail anyone and get away with it. Every aggressive action of their will come knocking back at them. They will be forced to start measuring and thinking if they should attempt any new provocations if that means a serious consequence to them.

Independence Celebrations Marred by Explosion, Juren and Sabina Killed

The Annual March 31st celebrations are meant to be peaceful and colorful celebrations of the Amicable split between Talvistova and the Englean Kaiserreich in 1849, however Monday's was no such deal.

Early in the morning as King Juren III and his Wife, King Sabina I, were preparing to raise the ceremonial flag outside of the winter palace, a 1980's mercedes benz parked just outside the fence, loaded with an estimated 100 kg of TNT, exploded, ripping apart the front gate and absolutely devastating the ceremony.

Early estimates place the death toll at approximately 150 killed, making it the deadliest single explosion in Talvistovan history. However, in a bigger story, King Juren and Queen Sabina have both been confirmed dead, as they where the closest to the explosion when it went off. The next day, a massive funeral march was organized as the ceremonial coffins of the 2 where delivered from Kvingandannes, in accordance with tradition. The official state funeral is to take place following a week of being laid in state at the Capitol Building.

In a speech shortly after being crowned king of Talvistova, the former crown prince Oskar I had the following to say on the matter:

"I can not explain to you in words how I deeply saddened I am by my parents' passing. They gave all they could to improving this country, ultimately culminating in their lives being tragically ended by this heinous act of violence. After my father willingly stepped aside to allow democracy to be given a chance in the country, how is he repaid? by being blown apart in his own front yard. Disgusting. In response to such actions, and in order to send a strict message to the bastards who did this that political assassination is never a way to get your desired results, I am suspending the elections indefinitely. The people who committed this atrocity can not be allowed to get their way from these heinous acts of violence can not be allowed to have this movement go on any farther."

After that, he authorized several raids on known extremist democrat strongholds in an attempt to bring the people responsible to justice.
I just want a mid 60's jeep cj5 and to turn up dead in a national park of mysterious causes at the age of 25

Sunrisia Hosting Chairman Gustav Feldt Of South Baggnagia In Orentan On An Official Visit

Image

Today, President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has welcomed Gustav Feldt, the Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia, at the Presidential Palace in Orentan. South Baggnagia’s relatively-new Head of Government has arrived from an the other side of the world – Ventismar, on a state visit, which is the Chairman’s first since the Congress of National Sovereignty acceded to power in South Baggnagia. The President will obviously hold one-on-one talks, but also have the Chairman of South Baggnagia meet Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, due to the nature of the talks, as well as Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên, who is filling in for Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá, still on an international tour of Western Corentia and New Vesvai. National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên and Vice President Amíc Fútûra are also said to be joining the talks.

Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên already met Chairman Gustav Feldt and the new government of the Congress of National Sovereignty after they had acceded to power in South Baggnagia. The Vice Minister was the first and only official to engage with the new South Baggnagian leadership following controversial events in that country. Vice Minister Acíesên needed to bilaterally reaffirm the continuation of the alliance between the 2 countries even after the changes in South Baggnagia, but needed to make it clear that Sunrisia would support only democratic processes, human rights and resist authoritarianism or usurpation of power. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr did share a phone call with Chairman Gustav Feldt following the visit by Vice Minister Fîbrá Acíesên and reaffirmed those same principals to the new South Baggnagian leadership. The President will once more remind of those principals and make the stance clear, before talks could proceed on the further evolution of the strategic alliance. At the same time, prior to the beginning of the state visit, President Sâlúbĕr commented on the statement made by Chairman Gustav Feldt and said that the South Baggnagian leader was correct in saying that Sunrisia and South Baggnagia, under the new leadership, would be able to relate ideologically in their preference of isolationism and anti-globalism.

In terms of the talks themselves, it is no secret that North Baggnagia would on the agenda as the primary national security threat to South Baggnagia, as well as to Sunrisia, since our country has committed to fight for South Baggnagia in its’ defense. Therefore, the interest of both countries is to deter the dictatorship of North Baggnagia from attempting an escalation of war.

Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér commented:

The dictatorship of the tyrant name Fran Hapenic and his team, is keeping the people of North Baggnagia hostage not only by oppressing them under a totalitarian rule and depriving them of rights, but also by putting them at a target’s range by provoking a war. The Baggnagians left behind on the other side, in the North, are also being used as human resources to only serve this regime by working for the state, but also by being drafted into the North Baggnagian Holy Army, whose ultimate mission is not to defend a country, but to do the bidding of a dictatorship. Of course, there is nothing new here. We have only reaffirmed what was already known, however, it must not be forgotten or underestimated. That is why we are talking about it again.

In the talks, both sides will discuss the defense of Neodvisni – an exclave of South Baggnagia, surrounded by North Baggnagia geographically. The city of Neodvisni is always talked about exceptionally in the South Baggnagian–Sunrisian discussions, because the exclave has been strategically evaluated in both countries as a weak spot of South Baggnagian. Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN) is stationed in the exclave to protect, however, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên has stated that in case of an attack on Neodvisni, the Sunrisian Rapid Reaction Units (RRU) would deploy to back-up SAN troops in the defense of Neodvisni and buy time before the heavy artillery moves in. Of course, that is only the gist of the strategy, with nothing more being given away. The agenda is the defense of the city and deterring the North Baggnagian regime from attacking it. The Sâlúbĕr administration plans to satisfy the South Baggnagian request to reinforce Neodvisni and prop-up the defense of the exclave. The same goes for the South Baggnagian–North Baggnagian border, an obvious frontline.

Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér commented before-hand that the preference of the alliance is not to make the first move by having an in-advance military build-up:

Any military build-up would only be a direct response new aggressive actions by North Baggnagia, but we do not intend to have the build-up at random, because we just suddenly felt like there needs to be one. Our strategy is defensive, which is why we are not intending to make first moves. However, the South Baggnagian leadership is correct to pursue a status quo, where North Baggnagia hypothetically does something provocative or aggressive and then immediately sees an increase of military posture against it, then maybe they might think twice.

Meanwhile, in the ranks of the parliament, Members of the Convet say that they would not like to see South Baggnagia ask for an increase of sanctions against North Baggnagia from individual to state ones. The first reason for such a stance are – state sanctions would harm the population, while individual ones are only targeting the rime. The second reason is the reinforcement of the strategic stance of the Sâlúbĕr administration – refraining from making the first move against North Baggnagia, unless the dictatorship does something first. Opposition MPs perceive such stance as “weakness.” In response, the MPs of the parliamentary majority in the Convet on the contrary said that the opposition was “too militaristic” and referred to the time, when they called for a pre-emptive missile strike on the break-away Hasperan Republic in Daredland, after the separatist leadership there caused conducted public executions of the opposition.

The visit by Chairman Gustav Feldt of South Baggnagia is expected to last half a week. The majority of the talks will be on the topic military and defense, while the remainder will be dedicated to trade and economy. Sunrisian companies would be looking at new investment opportunies in South Baggnagia. Sunrisia and South Baggnagia share a Productive Economic Exchange Agreement.

In other news:

  • Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá: “We are happy to see that a peaceful outcome was reached in Daredland.

  • New King of Talvistova Oskar suspends democratic elections in Talvistova, following new terrorist attacks in the Kingdom. The explosions claimed ~150 lives, including of Talvistova’s King Juren and Queen Sabina, making Crown Prince Oskar succeed to the throne.

South Baggnagia drafts its first round of conscripts for military service

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – The Ministry of Defense of South Baggnagia has announced the draft of the first round of conscripts into a 6-month military service in the South Baggnagian Protection Army. Minister of Defense Vojtech Wylem Betnar spoke of the draft before the Congress of National Sovereignty 24 hours before the draft was applied.

South Baggnagia has called up able-bodied conscripts of all genders and sexual orientation between the ages of 19 and 34 to serve for 6 months as already mentioned. The conscripts would get to choose the branch of the military they would like to join but the military command would get to pick the location of their service and stationing. Obviously the conscripts would only serve within the borders of South Baggnagia but the Ministry of Defense said that the draftees from other parts of South Baggnagia would not be sent to the Neodvisni exclave. Local conscripts in Neodvisni would serve in the exclave while mainlander conscripts would not be cut off from home. Alternative service would be available too that does not have combat-related activities. The conscripts would be joining the South Baggnagian military reserve but it is unlikely for them to see combat in case of incidents or temporary flare-ups. That would still be handled by an all-professional army. The first round of conscription is happening as Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustav Feldt is away on a trip to South Baggnagia. Like Congress the Chairman was informed by the Ministry of Defense of the need for the first round of conscription before the action was applied.

South Baggnagia has selective conscription which means that the draft is only applied whenever the Ministry of Defense or the South Baggnagian Protection Army feels like a number of troops fall short of goal. The draft is not applied regularly which means that is unknown when the next round of the draft might happen or if it would happen at all. The statistics report a high number of volunteers regularly joining the military but presently the government has raised the goal number to a higher one for the military reserve.

Crane leads Progressive Party Primary Polls ahead of Polster and Fitch. Is favorite to win!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Director of Layfet State Affairs Fraiser K. Crane is leading in the polls against Executive Minister Susan Polster and PLayfetian National Rape Recovery Agency President Anne Fitch in the Progressive Party primary according to poll conducted by the Nordipolica Post. The Poll sampled 10,000 people from across the nation asking them who they would prefer to gain the Progressive Party nomination with 45 percent of people who answered saying that Crane was their favorite. Polster had received 35 percent and Fitch receiving 20 percent.

Crane, who as been working as Director of Layfet State Affairs since Faith Miller's administration says that he wants to return Layfet towards more centrist lines and that he wants to mix the traditionally more socialist/communist aspects of Layfet's economy with new elements inspired by Capitalism. He also wants to move Layfet politically away from the traditional communist bloc and establish Layfet as an independent actor on the world stage.

Crane's ideas have been criticized by his two opponents yet praised by members of both the Capitalist and Union Parties, yet he is gaining popularity among many of Layfet's small privately owned businesses. Crane says that his ideas, while different, hasn't caused any contention between him and EM Polster, as he still works for her, but he did mention he plans on resigning in order to focus on the campaign within the next few weeks.

BREAKING NEWS: Chancellor Maxis set to Retire by 2020
Image
Having served in public office for nearly 75 Years, Chancellor Ludvig Maxis is considered to be the longest serving Kiezan Government Official as well as one of the longest-serving government officials in the world.

The Reichstag, Berlin, Kiez --- Members of Parliament left without a word this evening following a surprise announcement from Chancellor Maxis as he issued a statement to his fellow colleagues announcing his intentions to retire from public office by the year 2020. It has been no secret that the health of the aged Chancellor has been a hot debate amongst most members of parliament due to the increasing fragility of those approaching the centennial year. "It is quite sad and unfortunate to see one such as Chancellor Ludvig Maxis to hang his hat up after such a long run as a public servant." Said a member of the Kiezan Democratic Party after having departed the building for the evening. Surprisingly, however, the Chancellor indicated that it was not the state of his health that brought him to announce his eventual resignation but it was rather out of a desire to see the world.

"i have born witness to many great historical events, from the end of the First World War to the advent of the Second as well as the rise of our great nation to what it has become today." The Chancellor stated to his fellow political allies and rivals. "I've had the misfortune of watching as our nation faced trials and tribulations against forces that sought to dismantle the very foundations that this great nation stands upon, however, those dark days have been met with many a silver lining of hope as our once rival Empire of Rezua stood alongside us in our darkest days and guided us back into the light of prosperity with their tremendous efforts to warm relations between our two ideologically differing nations." The Chancellor seemingly paused as if contemplating his next words.

"I have watched generation after generation grows, prosper, and then eventually die out like a candle in the dark as others rose up to the occasion to supplant them. My decision does not come lightly, nor does it come without disregarding the turmoil this may create when I eventually step down and leave these great halls for the very last time. However, it is my belief that the generations that have followed mine have demonstrated their ability to rise up to the occasion and answer the call when their nation needs them..." The Chancellor was then noted to have wiped a facecloth over his face as if holding back tears. "I will leave the halls of the Reichstag with my head held high, knowing that there will be a successor to take the torch of the Chancellery and continue the legacy that the generations of old have left behind. In the final years of my life in this world, I will spend it exploring our great Blue and Green planet that we call our home, learning what more it can provide to us and what we can provide it."

While the Chancellor himself was unavailable to answer questions, Premier Richtofen delivered a statement directly to one of our press correspondents: "This announcement of Chancellor Maxis' retirement is indeed unfortunate, having been one of the forefathers of our great nation, but we must all pause and look back at the deeds that Herr Maxis has performed in favor of progressing our great country as well as the trials and tribulations he has experienced in order to bring about these prosperous changes, It is time for the younger generation to take up the torch and continue the legacy that the Chancellor has left for us to inherit: to bring about continued peace and prosperity throughout our great country!"

Executive Minister Susan Polster calls for World Anti-Militarization Summit.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Executive Minister Susan Polster has just announced that she is calling for a summit of world leaders to discuss rapid over-militarization in the last century and ways to reduce it going into the current one. Following the dedication of the Layfet-North Rukonia Friendship Garden in Nordipolica, Polster gave a speech regarding the need for the summit calling for many of the world's nations to reduce their militaries. Her speech also included a statement that to many world powers thrust their economies and culture behind their militaries, to the detriment to the advancement of their citizens. Polster concluded that military actions, war, and bragging about military accomplishments have all too become the norm for diplomacy in international spaces and world news, which influenced her decision to call for the summit.

Executive Minister Front-runner and Director of Layfet State Affairs Fraiser K. Crane says that the summit will be held in the recently constructed Tonnes Tower in Tonnes, which was completed last year and is now Layfet's tallest building standing at 946 feet. "The entire building is currently rented out by the government, and after the summit will be turned over for public use. I don't expect to use the entire building due to how I see the turnout will be" Crane gave in a statement. Crane, despite working for both the previous Executive Minister Edmond Dantes and Polster has been a long spoken critic of demilitarization in Layfet including the highly controversial Layfet-Sunrisia Compact of Naval Association.

Public Support of the summit isn't in Polster's favor either, with a recent report done by the Tonnes Times showing only 49 percent of individuals across the nation support it, with several interviewed persons saying that it will essentially be useless as many say that most nations might not even send delegates. "Layfet might have influence on the international stage, despite us (the country) being so small, but that's not enough to get the world to start reducing their militaries" said one interviewee. Polster remains hopeful however, stating that "the big players would show, because if not, they would understandable look pro war". She also says that she has some political clout too, with formers EM Dantes, Faith Miller, and Laura Howell all attending the summit.

Crane and half the public aren't the only opponents of the summit however, as other EM 2020 candidates including Anne Fitch, Anthony Benson, and Arthur Morris call the summit dangerous, with Morris in particular saying that it "might bring up old war tensions and military show offs, and we have no interest in spreading that. We never fought in a world war and our last war was in the 80s, we don't know how deep those scars are."

Only time will tell if any nation will be willing to attend Polster's summit or if any talk will come of it. With barely a year into her Executive Ministership, Polster definitely is trying to stir up the political game.

IN OTHER NEWS

- Chancellor Maxis of the Reich set to Retire by 2020, beloved by Layfetians with opinion polls showing 83% percent favorably of his leadership, plans are in motion to erect statue of him in the Layfet-Kiez Friendship Garden by the end of the month. Maxis agrees to attend dedication.

- Capitalist Party announces plan to discuss strategy with Capitalists in other countries, no capitalist country responds to the party. Polls dip in Capitalist Party confidence.

- The Nina Islands sets out to become duel-currency nation, adding the Libfray in addition to the already currently official Rezuaian Rusig.

- South Baggnagia drafts its first round of conscripts for military service, Polster speaks out against the draft.

- Daredland government agrees to hold snap elections, but will not resign until then, Layfetian Embassy closed until after elections take place.

- Norma Lynx, Layfet's most famous pornographic film star dies at age 45 in car crash after attempting to have intercourse while driving. Experts say she crossed into opposite lane before striking a semi truck. All others survived the crash with Lynx's partner in critical condition and facing charges of reckless driving, manslaughter, improper lane travel.

Minister Of Security Vírân Spêctér Visiting West Zilveren Berg And Smoya

Image

Although Gustav Feldt, the Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia, is still continuing his visit to Sunrisia and defense talks are ongoing, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér has left for a dual international tour to West Zilveren Berg and Smoya. The remainder of the defense talks with the South Baggnagian side will be handled more by National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên and by Vice Minister of Security, who will be both be taking over more initiative on behalf of the Sâlúbĕr administration.

In West Zilveren Berg, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér would be meeting Chairman Shou Vedder and the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg, who will now most likely be transitioning to New Kengara, an under-construction city planned to become the national capital of West Zilveren Berg and named after the city of Kengara in the formally-united Zilveren Berg. Kengara was a city that Zilveren dictator Rhul Gorm bombed using a nuclear weapon, admittedly in order to show force and sccare off the rest of the dissidence and rebellion in Zilveren Berg. The effect was quite the opposite and the Gorm regime’s basically signed its’ own death warrant with this move.

With the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg and with its’ provisional cabinet, Minister of Security will obviously be focused on the field of military and defense. Minister Vírân Spêctér will reaffirm Sunrisian protection guarantees to West Zilveren Berg under the Security Treaty (Sunrisia–West Zilveren Berg). The Minister will also take a look at the progress of building the West Zilveren Self-Defense Forces (WZSDF), aided by Sunrisian financing, arming, equipping and training over time. Minister Spêctér will also see how the rebuilding and rehabilitating of West Zilveren Berg has been going, visiting ACREFOR peacekeepers who have been handling the process, as well as the specially-equipped and geared-up Sunrisian special forces, who have been busy with radiation containment and clean-up, after the deceased Zilveren dictator detonated nuclear weapons throughout the war on Zilveren territory, as part of his regime’s regular military maneuvers and conventional warfare.

After West Zilveren Berg, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér would be going to Smoya as the next stop. The Minister would be taking the long route back west and through the airspace of exclusively friendly countries in Western and Central Corentia. Minister Vírân Spêctér is expected to meet President Leonardo Tizzare, also his Smoyan counterpart and the defense officials of Smoya, as well as representatives of the Smoyan armed forces. The Minister would also be paying a visit to the headquarters of the Sunrisian Corentian Command (SUNCORCOM) based in Smoya. Minister Spêctér would be thanking the service personnel there for the dual task of serving as the center of Sunrisian operations in Corentia and for supporting the security of Smoya, a Corentian democracy based on the continent’s east.

North Baggnagia holds Military Parade in Silcenda to show off its unmatched power

SILCENDA, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapenic is looking over the glorious Parade of the North Baggnagian Holy Army that is now happening in Silcenda. After provocations by the Southern traitors controlled by Sunrisia the Great Leader decided to show the Military Might of North Baggnagia. All sections of the military would be shown off at the parade. North Baggnagia would show the infinite amount of brave troops it has and show all the arms and tech it has. The North Baggnagian Holy Army will be shown to the enemy to be not only a modern military but also a military greater than that of the enemy. His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapenic gave a brilliant and logic argument that only the Great Leader could have made. His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapenic said that the enemy has recently began doubting the might of North Baggnagia. The Southern traitors and their Sunrisian masters think that North Baggnagia can be taken on. The Military Parade in Silcenda will display the might and show the enemy that North Baggnagia is invincible. The Great Leader’s cabinet is applauding him for unchallenged and unprecedented decisiveness, leadership, this decision and love to the homeland and the people.

The universal conscription to the North Baggnagian Holy Army basically puts the national population into military service. No matter the size of the nation North Baggnagia already will clearly have among the largest militaries in the world by number of soldiers and by how many troops can go out into the field. The 6-month conditioned conscription in the land held by Southern traitors and Sunrisian imperialists makes the Greater Leader laugh. This clearly is not match to the strength of the North Baggnagian Holy Army. In the end the Southern traitors would be the first to take the North Baggnagian Holy Army on. The Sunrisian imperialists no matter their active occupation of the South are still far away. The imperialists are on the other side of the planet and would never make it in time to reinforce the Southern traitors and their aggression. The North Baggnagian Holy Army will have already wiped its feet with the Southern imperialists and the contingents of Sunrisian imperialists before they could arrive. Even if the Southern traitors mimicked North Baggnagian tragedy and attempt to bring their entire population and all resources into their military it would still not be able to match the North Baggnagian Holy Army. The Southern traitors and the Sunrisian imperialists have already lost before the war good begin. Hooray to the Great Leader and His unparalleled intelligence that made North Baggnagia more powerful than enemy enemy!

All quiet on the North Baggnagian front, say troops watching the border

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – Chairman Gustav Feldt is wrapping up defense talks in Sunrisia and will be boarding his flight back to South Baggnagia in a number of hours. The flight will be a long one because the Chairman will be going from another corner of the planet back to Ventismar. In this time the North Baggnagian regime is already holding a military parade in Silcenda where it admittedly is trying to show off its strength. The glorifying tone of the North Baggnagian propaganda is obviously amusing but North Baggnagia itself is not a laughing matter. It is a serious challenge and the North Baggnagian Holy Army is obviously a more than worthy opponent in a fight.

Usually a military parade is not only a show of force by dictatorships but also a cover-up for invasion or aggression. While North Baggnagia is having its military parade the South Baggnagian Protection Army has increased a number of troops on the border with North Baggnagia. The soldiers are monitoring the border for North Baggnagian presence or movement. They are on the look-out for incursions or attacks. Sunrisian troops in South Baggnagia were invited to increase their presence on the border too and stay there throughout the military parade in the North. The Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia asked that the Commander of the Sunrisian forces in South Baggnagia also visit the border at this time.

So far the troops are saying that all is quiet on the North Baggnagian front. Members of Congress say that no matter the North Baggnagia propaganda and discrediting of South Baggnagia the nation is still strong. The troops will not be demoralized and de-motivated. The Ministry of Defense says that North Baggnagia tries to show itself off as serious and that it’s not kidding with this military parade. South Baggnagia is not kidding either and will show strength everywhere that is needed. With the help of ally Sunrisia South Baggnagia will keep North Baggnagia deterred.

Daredi delegation goes to Orentan, Sunrisia to sign the Integration Protocol with SOWEFTA

Image

Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Dries Schwarz was recently in Orentan, Sunrisia. He was discussing the prospects of Daredland signing an Integration Protocol with SOWEFTA in order for Daredland to establish an association with SOWEFTA. The visit was a follow-up of a meeting of the SOWEFTA–Daredland Cooperation Council on the topic. The hope was to get a possibility to hopefully sign the Integration Protocol sooner without dragging out the negotiations and signing process. Daredland hoped that there wouldn’t be a need of having to wait for the same high-level summit between Daredland and SOWEFTA as was between Daredland and MDAA. The Daredi Confederal Minister was given assurances that the request would be achieved. Now Confederal Chancellor of the Daredi Confederation Eelco Lechner, Confederal Minister of SOWEFTA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Dries Schwarz and the Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation Friedrich Heuvel have gone to Orentan, Sunrisia as the Daredi delegation for a signing ceremony with SOWEFTA officials of the Integration Protocol.

Although Daredland just underwent a political crisis where a large portion of the population rose up against the government, the nation now stands strong and united once more. Daredis are hopeful for the success of the Daredi delegation at the meeting with SOWEFTA. Marches and demonstrations are being held in the streets of Daredi cities where citizens are waving the flags of Daredland and SOWEFTA. They are anticipating the outcome. The same people that participated in anti-government and pro-government demonstrations on opposite sides just recently are now standing together with the flags of Daredland and SOWEFTA in favor of successfully achieving an association. No matter the government’s rejection on domestic policy the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD) governing coalition is now expected to fulfill the foreign policy task that is engraved in its ambitious name. So far the PLFWCD members are going by their patriotic goal of bringing Daredland into the Western Corentian sphere and not being concern with the coalition’s current term being cut short. Even if there is an ambitious goal to win political points experts do say that a successful association may get the PLFWCD its lost support back with the population. It might go as far as get the PLWCD win the next snap elections but it is still too early to think about. That is now what’s on the nation’s mind right now.

West Zilveren Berg Hosting Sunrisian Minister Of Security Vírân Spêctér

Sunrisian Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér is on an official visit to West Zilveren Berg. The guest is being hosted by Chairman Shou Vedder and the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg. Spêctér would be taken through multiple cities of West Zilveren Berg. However, a lot of the talks would be held in those cities of West Zilveren Berg that are already in a functional and operating condition even if they still undergoing reconstruction. Of course, the Sunrisian guest would still be taken to New Kengara, the declared capital of West Zilveren Berg and also included as such in the Basic Law after a vote by the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly and public polls. Even in its infant stage the city would still need to be shown to the Sunrisian guest at least as a monument of sorts.

Obviously the talks would be on military cooperation and defense guarantees by Sunrisia to West Zilveren Berg under the Security Treaty. Sunrisian Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér would get to see the positive result that his predecessor’s “Fórtídâ Initiative” has had in rebuilding West Zilveren Berg after the war and rehabilitating the community. The guest would be taken to see his country’s troops working on the reconstruction of West Zilveren Berg together with the locals. He would get to visit ACREFOR peacekeepers and special forces working on radiation containment and clean-up. The Minister would get to see the state of the West Zilveren Self-Defense Forces (WZSDF), a military built with Sunrisian help.

The Parliamentary Legislative Assembly would only discuss military topics with Sunrisian Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, whereas the West Zilveren elections would be something talked about with the Sunrisian FM when that visit happens. Still a fortunate thing that can be said to both Ministers is that West Zilveren Berg is finding peaceful co-existence with East Zilverenberg and the Southern Zilveren Administrative Territory, a protectorate of Amestrris. This is an instance where the same nation divided into separate states does not mean a rivalry between them.

Vesvai’s News Media Now With Less International Politics: News Stories From Abroad Now Come Only From ROVAA And The Rhodeve Commonwealth

Vesvai’s population has noticed that the national news sources and information sources now contain less international politics. The television and news papers (print and digital) have significantly decreased their international affairs sections. A small amount of wider attention to foreign events now includes only big global news impossible to ignore. Other than that Vesvai’s media has now fully rearranged its attention for abroad news only exclusively to what is happening in ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth. News coming from other parts of the world (outside ROVAA and the Commonwealth) include smaller non-political stories that are still interesting in their own way.

The decrease in international news has been complemented with an increase in domestic news and Vesvai’s internal affairs. The media now dedicates the overwhelming majority of its attention to Vesvai’s own success in economy, the environment, social policy, technological progress and innovation, culture and the arts, agriculture, history, the hard work of Vesvai’s government in improving the population’s life and modernizing the nation. Journalists and sociology researchers say that less foreign affairs on negative news in internal affairs will help nurture a happier and more optimistic population. According to this view the news is so negative because of an abundance of negative or shocking news. The increase in positive news will help the population become calmer, happier and less focused on politics which has been a driving force for inciting unrest. The new positive approach towards the media will also give deserved credit to Vesvai’s government and recognition of its hard work. Vesvai population will be able to see and recognize the actual good things that the VHU-led government has done for the nation. Whereas in the past the extremist forces in the nation have attempted to blindly discredit the government, disregard its successes and encourage blind hatred with accompanying rebellion.

The devotion of international news exclusively to ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth will make Vesvai more intact with the civilization that Vesvai has integrated in. Vesvai’s population might actually feel like they are living under the same roof with the people of Rhodevus, Oblaren, Aznazia, Belantica, Rezua, Ispanza, Eubatu and many others. News stories by Vesvai’s international correspondents would be coming not on political topics but also cultural, historical, social and other. Vesvaians would get to know the populace of fraternal nations much better from now on.
