VU And Sunrisia Talk Cooperation On Eikangaard Settlement: New Sunrisian Special Envoy Appointed For The Situation In Eikangaard

Image

Vice Minister of International Relations of the Sunrisian Second Republic Fîbrá Acíesên has travelled to Capsland as part of coordination between VU and Sunrisia on the crisis in Eikangaard, which both sides have been in discussions about. The “second-in-command” of the Department of International Relations has begun with Capsland as the starting point, but there are hopes that Vice Minister Fîbrá Acíesên would also be able to visit Lindenholt and Umbrellya, the latter of which is closer to Eikangaard and thus is potentially the most affected by the situation in Eikangaard. Visiting the remaining VU states is on the agenda as well. Recently, Sunrisian officials have been in contact with counterparts in Lindenholt and Capsland on the situation in Eikangaard as part of the wider VU–Sunrisian dialogue on the situation. The 2 VU member states have been the primary messengers of the Sunrisian discourse to the rest of the VU organization. The primary agenda of the current VU–Sunrisian coordination is the settlement in Eikangaard. Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên lso acknowledged that Capsland has voiced past objections and constructive criticism of Sunrisian actions regarding the Baggnagian situation, also positioned in the geographic sphere or “neighborhood” around the VU, therefore, peace might be made on that issue as well, while the Vice Minister is in Capsland.

Back in Sunrisia, the Head of the Department of International Relations of the Sunrisian Second Republic – Minister Edén Sȏlítûdá, has appointed a new special envoy of Sunrisia for dealing with the situation in Eikangaard alongside VU partners. Cóllên Súâsar has been appointed as the Designated Diplomatic Agent (DDA) of Sunrisia for Eikangaard Settlement. Unlike Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) and Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE), both of which are special envoys of a higher-ranking, wider jurisdiction and more permanent missions, the DDAs do not require approval of the Convet to enter the position and begin their diplomatic objectives. Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá has the power to appoint these diplomats independently, based on the Minister’s proper judgment and experience. This means that DDA Cóllên Súâsar can already begin his diplomatic mission on behalf of Sunrisia.

  • Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér travels to Creperia. Next stop would be New Vesvai. Future visits planned to The Seven United, Edereon, Daredland and Smoya, though those visits are still in talks with the other side. Afterwards, Minister Vírân Spêctér would go to West Zilveren Berg and South Baggnagia, also visits still in the planning stages.

  • Sunrisia and Daredland conclude joint military exercises and war games.

  • Sunrisian Naval Forces end patrols of waters off the coast of southwestern and central Corentia. Navy launches new patrol mission of the strait between Edereon and Daredland, with the new warships taking over for the previous ones.

  • Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta: “We need a new mechanism that would allow for a quicker accession or integration of aspiring members into MDAA and SOWEFTA. We keep an open door for countries matching certain criteria, but we avoid the policy of promoting the bloc. If interested countries reach out to us themselves, we start talking.

  • At the studios of WtF Music Television, symphonic metal band Svésâs Ârmiá (Army of Light) performed their new single “Kráis Ez Lîbérâ” (Blood For Freedom) live. The performance was followed-up by psychedelic 80’s-style alternative rock band Eremus, who performed their song “Entoptic.”

79th Annual Shastara V Rhodevus Hockey Match Set for This Week

Shastara has always had a proud history of throwing objects of varying bluntness across long distances, caber tossing, shot putting, you get the picture. However, when Rhodevus occupied Shastara in 1745 many dramatic changes took place. Rhodeve culture was instilled upon the populace until 1822. However, the one influence that's managed to stick around since 1822 is the fervent love for hockey. Suddenly the Shastarans rose to not only rival the Rhodeves, but began to outmatch them. This ignited a heated rivalry that started at the end of World War Two. Hockey helped the two nations recover from the intense divide that formed post-occupation. The story goes that several Rhodeve troops stationed in Shastara after repelling the Rezuan Tzarists saw a few Shastaran troops going at it on a makeshift rink. They walked over and challenged the Shastarans to a game to which they hastily agreed. The game went on for hours with the audience growing larger and larger until the whole platoon was egging their troops on. Rhodeves say they won, we say we won, nobody really knows for sure. But the story gained national attention and pressure for a rematch with professional teams began. Finally, in 1950 the first official Shastaran - Rhodeve hockey match was held in Kingstown in Rhodevus where the Shastarans won 6-5. In 1952 the first of what was known as a "war game" occurred. A war game is a game where both sides have a score of over 15. The 1952 game saw Shastara beat Rhodevus 22-21. Finally, in 1970 a score cap was introduced after several games had reached over five hours in length.

However notable these war games were, perhaps the most notable game was the 1989 game in Porth Clementina. About halfway through the game, the infamous 1989 Clementina Earthquake rocked southern Shastara. Right as Rhodeve forward Adrian Conrad shot for the goal, Shastaran goalkeeper Damian Waller rushed forward as he saw catwalks from the stadium's roof come loose and pushed Conrad out of the way. The Catwalks instead crushed Waller's legs and effectively ended his promising career. the goal that Conrad scored was later determined interference and was dropped, resulting in a Shastaran win.

As of 2019 the Shastarans have 30 wins while Rhodevus has 48. The 2019 game is set for this week at the Hero's Collesium in Porthsladd and once again Her Majesty Queen Veronica and Queen Diana of Rhodevus are expected to attend along with thousands of other Rhodeves and Shastarans. Millions are expected to tune in on TV and streaming. The Ministry of State has also confirmed that Queen Diana is meeting with Queen Veronica to discuss several topics, among them the UKS's increase in support of the Kaiserreich, which has been controversial to some.
In any case, we can look forward to another intense and fun game of which will have no repercussions on international relations whatsoever...let's kick em out like its 1822 eh?!

”Troll Acts” That Had Auditioned For The Sunalayavision Song Contest

Image

Artist Aglomera with the song “Vîltí” (Hope) will be the representative of Sunrisia in the Sunalayavision Song Contest. And yet, despite this, other musicians or figures in entertainment posing as musicians, have performed the so-called “Troll Acts”, auditioning with satirical, non-serious or outright careless musical acts. They have been viewed as moves to either discredit the contest and its’ certain aspects or artists behind them simply having some innocent fun of light nature without the intention to offend.

Tonight, we are going to take a look at 5 of these so-called “Troll Acts” that “competed” for Aglomera's place. The songs in the list will be translated into their English titles for the purpose of recognizing the international nature of the Sunalayavision Song Contest:

1. Bliss – The Best

Image

2. S.S.K. – First World Tragedy

Image

3. Bohemnie – Infant-Internet

Image

4. MC P – Take It Slow (The White Rap)

Image

5. Spirit (Originally Debuted At The Alternative Dadaism Convention In Ucinda)

Image

Lacking any serious artistic intention does not mean lacking artistic integrity. Despite being meant as light-hearted jokes, these songs are already trending as legitimate, with some suggesting that they should be played at the Sunalayavision Song Contest after Aglomera or all of the international artists finish their musical performances.

Prime Intelligence Division (PID) Drops Investigation On The So-Called Sunrisian National Revolutionary Front (SNRF), A Disbanded Militant Group

Image

Flag that was used by the now-defunct Sunrisian National Revolutionary Front (SNRF)

The Prime Intelligence Division (PID) of the Sunrisian Second Republic has officially dropped its’ investigation into the so-called Sunrisian National Revolutionary Front (SNRF), a now-defunct militant group behind a coup d'état attempt in the Democratic Union of Sunrisia a while back. This was publicly announced by the Director of PID after President Válîd Sâlúbĕr stated that there would be an emergency announcement to the news media from the Presidential Palace at noon. It was then that the Director of PID made that announcement from a podium, with the President standing by his side. Hours later, the Director of PID gave another speech on the cancellation of the investigation by the country’s leading intelligence agency, this time at the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic. The PID Director spoke before Members of the Convet, reiterated the details of the original announcement made alongside President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and also elaborated on the situation a bit more, since the Convet gave the PID Director more time to speak than he had in the original announcement. The initial announcement alongside the head of state before news media was just breaking the news and informing the public, while the second speech was the PID Director going into more detail, speaking on behalf of the intelligence agency before the elected representatives and also indirectly to the people, because his address was broadcast. It was confirmed that before the decision was taken to drop the investigation into SNRF, the PID Director met President Válîd Sâlúbĕr personally in a one-on-one dialogue at the President’s office. This was followed up with a meeting with the Members of the Convet. Only after the President and the Convet expressed their understanding and approval, did the PID then decide it was safe to announce the dismissal of the SNRF investigation.

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr approved of the decision greatly and gave his own statement at the initial announcement at the Presidential Palace, where he stood alongside the PID Director:

I think that this is a good severance from the past and a break from a particular chapter of the overall national history that was more of a load on the shoulders of the Second Republic. The PID had to waste time and energy on investigating a group that the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) physically disbanded there on the spot, in the battlefield, which means that it should have become a forgotten and irrelevant national security hazard that had already been taken care of. Additionally, the leading intelligence agency of this nation had to investigate an outdated unconstitutional crime against a country that no longer exists, because the coup d'état attempt was carried by SNRF in the Democratic Union of Sunrisia. Today, we live in the Sunrisian Second Republic, which is not legally a direct successor state of the Democratic Union. We have since adopted ideologies and we have moved on far beyond that.

As for the possible argument that the alleged state sponsors of SNRF will remain undiscovered, I don’t see much of a loss here. Whether SNRF acted alone or whether they had foreign state sponsorship, in either case, our domestic and foreign policy is the right one and is adjusted according to all possibilities and all scenarios. In fact, you could argue that SNRF was that last spawn meant to drag us back into a dark past or an even worse present or future that would have followed, which also potentially came to us from the outside world. It was defeated by the Democratic Union at the time and the overthrow of the rebuilt Sunrisian state did not commence. Since then, we have developed a mechanism and a natural instinct of self-defense, self-preservation, self-sustainability/self-reliance, caution and solitude, which would neutralize the likes of SNRF in case of another attempt against our liberty and sovereignty. I think that by saying goodbye to this old investigation, the PID has set itself free, the Sunrisian Second Republic has been set free and we have broken the chains and the bonds with a no longer relevant past chapter. We have left the anchor behind and are no longer bonded to what we have been needlessly dragging. We are left to move freely. Our intelligence community can now instead focus on fighting international terrorism and containing rogue states.

Historical Background (Archive): SNRF was a militant organization formed by the leaders of Western-aligned North and Eastern-aligned South from the period of Sunrisian division, which came to be known as the Sunrisian Crisis, the Sunrisian Confrontation or the Sunrisian Quasi-Civil War, because it existed in a frozen stalemate and not consistent fighting. After the North and South were both overthrown, Sunrisia reunified to form the Democratic Union of Sunrisia as a neutral state, breaking off from the West and the East equally. Distrust towards the outside had returned and old tendencies of seclusion resurfaced. Relations with a lot of countries were started from a clean slate and kept at a cold distance, except for immediate neighbors, who themselves had undergone changes and transformations at that time. The Democratic Union returned Sunrisian foreign policy back to its’ hermit roots, while keeping up an active diplomatic, humanitarian and peacekeeping presence on the international stage, just like in the days of the Kingdom of Sunrisia.

The neutrality status was later lifted to grant the Democratic Union the legal right to use military force overseas, however, the non-belligerent and non-bloc status was still constitutionally fortified. The overthrown leaders of the North and South had fled abroad and stayed there for a while. The countries they were hiding in were unknown, but Western and Eastern states were under equal suspicions as former backers of the overthrown North and South leaders. After fleeing abroad and staying there for some time, the old North and South adversaries had then come together to secretly form the so-called Sunrisian National Revolutionary Front (SNRF) in exile. SNRF was formed as a militant group that would reclaim power in the Sunrisian state with a coup d'état. Originally, the group operated from secret overseas’ headquarters in either West or East and were hunted by Sunrisia internationally. Eventually, SNRF managed to access the Democratic Union, without getting caught, to actually commit the coup.

On the faithful night, SNRF appeared on the streets of the then-capital city Aestin and sought to take over the presidential headquarters and the parliamentary headquarters. The Sunrisian Military soon deployed to the capital to stop this. Even citizens began flooding the streets to intervene and attempt to stop the SNRF militants, but the soldiers attempted to keep the people out of harm’s way and uninvolved. In a firefight, all the SNRF militants were killed, including their collective leadership composed of overthrown North and South leaders from the division period. Víc Sêrria (South), Émen Séntân (North), Áest Sâlutár (North), Coél Nátio (North) and Rêc Práter (South) – all died in a confrontation with the Sunrisian Military in Aestin. Their execution during a firefight saved them from arrest and prosecution before the state. After SNRF was defeated in Aestin, the military, with the help of intelligence agencies and investigators, soon traced back to temporary SNRF headquarters inside Sunrisia, from where everything was being plotted and from where the SNRF militants headed out into Aestin.

In the aftermath of the coup d'état attempt and the defeat of SNRF, the PID opened an investigation into SNRF’s origins. It was plausible that the group was an independent counter-revolutionary militant organization that wanted to return to the power that the individuals in the group’s collective leadership have lost. However, the SNRF’s basing abroad before the coup, the unexplained origin of the group’s resources and training skills, as well as the history of relations that the North and South leaders had with the states they were allied with while in power, suggested that they had state sponsors. This was also hinted at by the international and geopolitical stakes involved and SNRF seeking to undo the post-reunification effects in Sunrisia as a counter-revolutionary group. SNRF was not hiding that intention in the previous messages it sent to Sunrisia from the secret exile location(s) abroad. Sunrisia’s declared neutrality was not liked much or understood abroad and attempts were made to lure the reunified state into the Western or Eastern camp. Therefore, the countries in both power blocs, former allies of North and South in particular, were suspected of being interested parties investing into SNRF and a successful counter-revolutionary coup. Former Western and Eastern allies were all suspects as potential state sponsors of SNRF to overthrow the Democratic Union and have SNRF-built “leadership” bring Sunrisia out of non-alignment into one of the power blocs.

The governing Justice Coalition of Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance leading the Convet, has backed up the personal position of the President and of the Sâlúbĕr administration on the PID’s drop of the SNRF investigation. Opposition Conservatives in the Convet and nationalist groups are protesting the drop of the SNRF investigation by PID and the government’s approval of it, stating that Sunrisia must find out who the definitive enemies of the Democratic Union were at the time, in order to learn from the coup d'état experience of the Democratic Union and turn it into a useful precedent. That is to make it that the contemporary Sunrisian Second Republic be safe and ready against such risks, as well as simply know which countries not to trust indefinitely.

Symbolically, the military officers of SDF had reaffirmed their allegiance to Sunrisia with a number of gestures, pledging to defend the country against all national security threats, whether they come from the outside, inside or both simultaneously. The soldiers have promised to have that same protective attitude towards Sunrisia’s allies as well.

Amestrris vows to bring in more refugees in 2019, highest since 1980s

Amestrris' status as a growing leader in refugee resettlement owes less to Amestrrian generosity than a cool disinterest from neighbouring administrations globally, as well as the reverberations still felt from the Zilveren conflicts. Amestrris will now admit the largest number of refugees in a single year in nearly four decades, states the Office of the High Commission for Refugees. The resettlement of approximately 40,000 refugees in 2019 will mark a "tremendous achievement" and a record for Amestrris since 1978, when the Immigration Act came into effect, said the AOHCR representatives last week.

"We are very delighted to announce that this year such large numbers of Zilveren, and other miscellaneous, refugees will be resettled," stated the AOHCR over a telephone interview with CapitolTelecast from the Capitol itself. This record number includes both privately- and government-sponsored refugees.

According to the AOHCR, the top country of origin will be the Zilveren territories, but many others are being welcomed globally. This government's pledge to take in 40,000 refugees has become one of Amestrris' largest resettlement efforts. Spokesmen for the AOHCR stated that "the global need remains huge". There are currently an estimated 21 million forcibly displaced people worldwide, and 1,190,000 refugees in need of resettlement this year. Representatives say the AOHCR will continue to work with Amestrris on expanding the refugee resettlement efforts. “It’s a life-saving intervention.”

In a OAHCR news release, Amestrris' Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Verity Bliss said that The Capitol is “proud” to work with the global refugee agency.

"Ametrris hopes to increase global refugee resettlement and support ‎civil society and other jurisdictions to expand resettlement along with developing other solutions for the world's most vulnerable,” she said.

Although a recent report highlights that integration and financial independence remain a challenge for many Zilveren refugees a year after their arrival, Bliss said that overall, refugees in Amestrris end up doing very well.

She said the majority of refugees find jobs and develop a strong attachment to Amestrris over the years. Children integrate very well, he said, because they are able to pick up language and culture quickly and usually thrive in school.

“Becoming a refugee is never a choice,” Bliss said. “It’s a decision you have to make to save your life and the lives of your children.”

Council of 3 elects Joan Armbrüster as Secretary General

Image

The West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council (Council of 3) has elected its Secretary General. The Freihat-based political organization and alliance with representatives from three member nations elected the Secretary General under the suggestion of New Vesvai. Daredland proposed that the Secretary General be from New Vesvai because the nation proposed this idea. It would only be fair considering that Daredland already hosts the headquarters of the Council of 3 in Freihat as a nation that first proposed to create the political alliance of the three nations. West Zilveren Berg backed up the position of Daredland but New Vesvai went the modest route.

The newly elected Secretary General of the Council of 3 is Joan Armbrüster, an ex-Ambassador of the former Daredi Confederacy to Sunrisia. Armbrüster has garnered a reputation of a patriot and holds respect from the rest of the nation. He is also perceived as a modern national hero of sorts for his contributions to the freedom of Daredland in the nation’s modern history. Specifically in its most important event. During the outbreak of the Flaming Revolution in Daredland Armbrüster was located in the capital of Sunrisia Orentan where he was working at the Daredi Embassy. Armbrüster informed the Sunrisian government of his defection from the Daredi government and that he would be abandoning the Embassy to go to Daredland and join the mass protests. The Sunrisian government thankfully let him go.

Daredi representation in the Council of 3 believes that Joan Armbrüster will make a perfect Secretary General as a man of undisputedly correct personal values. Armbrüster’s views, principals and personal actions guarantee that he will be a perfect head of an organization whose member nations are striving towards the greater good and greater ideals while walking essentially the same historical path.

Secretary Of Sunrisia In MDAA Grán Róbâsta Travels To Amestrris To Sign The MDAA–Amestrris Action Plan

Image

Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta has gone to Amestrris to meet with local government officials, particularly commander-in-chief President Rhoam Odama of Amestrris, the country’s defense officials and preferably representatives of the country’s armed forces. Secretary Róbâsta went to Amestrris after receiving approval from his Creperian, Ederi and Damsmarian colleagues in the MDAA Secretariat. The agenda of the trip is to sign the MDAA–Amestrris Action Plan offered to Amestrris after the country declared its’ aspirations for Western Corentian integration through membership in MDAA and in SOWEFTA. The signing of the MDAA–Amestrris Action Plan would be the first step in the direction of accession to MDAA. Before leaving for Amestrris, Secretary Grán Róbâsta:

We have been in contact with the government of Amestrris and they have been transparently informed of nuances of MDAA with its’ pros and cons, benefits and responsibilities. I have mentioned before that we would need to find a quicker mechanism for aspirant countries to join MDAA or integrate with the alliance as much as they prefer. The path of Daredland is dragging more, because the country has undergone a turbulent revolutionary period, wavering cease-fires, still faces territorial issues and is in need of reforms in various sectors, including the armed forces. However, we are helping Daredland and will not give up on Daredland, so the country will not be left alone to walk across its’ path or doubt if it would be able to finish that path at all. Daredland has already achieved much and the recent acquisition of the status of an associate state of MDAA is a prime example that Daredland’s work and aspirations are not in vain. Everything is going to be just fine.

For Amestrris, the country has only recently declared its aspirations to join MDAA and SOWEFTA, with the latter not being related to my sphere, so I cannot comment on it. However, in comparison to Daredland and the challenges the country has to still overcome with our aid of course, Amestrris could integrate at least into MDAA much faster as an associate state or a full member, whichever path they decide to move in. Experts from our organization would have to take a look at the shape of the armed forces of Amestrris, but we have high expectations, especially considering the fact that we had seen the military of Amestrris in action in Zilveren Berg. So it is likely that the country will be up to the standards.

Sunrisia and Amestrris first cooperated militarily in the battlefield during the military intervention in Zilveren Berg, where both countries were part of the 3-nation coalition together with Librira. The 3-nation coalition, in cooperation with the Zilveren anti-dictatorship rebel forces, successfully overthrew the regime of Supreme Leader Rhul Gorm, alas resulting in the country’s division. Some Members of the Convet have commented that given the experience Sunrisia has had with Amestrris, the country gives off the appearance of a nation that shares the same values and possesses a strong modern military force. From Sunrisian perspective, this would make Amestrris a welcomed addition to the alliance if it were join.

President Granted Emergency Powers, EUSR Declared Terrorist State

Shortly after reconvening following the mass arrests made to Communist and Monarchist supporters within the Senate, the body in question has unanimously voted to invoke President Albinson's right to emergency powers. The President, who did not request or otherwise hint at the possibility of being granted emergency powers, was humble in accepting the now bounds of his reach over the Republican Government.

"While it saddens me for things to come to this," Said the President in a press release. "It has become clear that decisive action is required, and the Senate has made the decision to bestow upon me all powers necessary to act. We cannot allow our newfound freedom and democracy to be usurped by those who would see a return to aristocratic corruption. Nor can we allow it to be crushed under the tyranny of the Communist threat, which seeks only to destroy individualism and hard work. Rest assured, that once these twin threats are eliminated from our government and our lands, I will relinquish the power invested in me by these emergency powers."

The President's first act was to brand the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic a sponsor of international terrorism, due to it's confirmed backing of Communist elements within southern EIkangaard. The President stated that there will be a redoubling of anti-communist actions in the Republic, and has stated that if the EUSR does not cease its aggressive actions, they will consider the Confederation Charter effectively null. "If the EUSR wishes to continue spitting in the face of the goodwill of the peaceable end to the Civil War, then we shall respond by any means necessary to ensure it's compliance or removal from EIkangaard." He said.

Republican Aggression at Royal Union Border

The Republic of Eikangaard, the Democratic Capitalist state occupying the south of Eikangaard, has once again begun its deliberate aggressive acts against the Socialist Republic with its recent announcement that it would consider the EUSR a sponsor of Terrorism. These rumors are unfounded, and likely stems from a home-grown socialist element within the Republic. Its previous action, under the leadership of it's previous President Lina Tamber, was the deliberate naval provocation with its surface fleet.

Now, however, it appears that they are gearing up for a push northward, with a major military buildup along its border with the Royal Union. With the chaotic mess that is the Royal Union, it's unlikely that the buffer state would be able to mount a reliable defense against the Republic. The People's National Assembly has convened in an emergency session to address the situation. Premier Maass has once again submitted her proposal to the National Assembly, to rescind the Royal Unions debts to the EUSR, to begin payments to the state to assist in economic rebuilding, and to begin dispatching humanitarian aid to more impoverished areas of the country.

However, she also doubled down on her proposal by expanding its scope. It also now includes the proposal to open the border between the EUSR and the Royal Union to trade and travel, and to allow immigration from the Royal Union. Furthermore, she's called for the National Assembly to formally support a diplomatic overture of support to the Royal Union to assist in countering the aggressive acts of the Republic. While Premier Maass' previous proposal was undoubtedly dismissive to members of the assembly, this time the situation has left many members in support of the measures. Many have already stated their support for an opening of direct diplomatic channels to the Royal Union effective immediately. Indeed, it seems that relations, due to unfortunate circumstances, may normalize between the Royal Union and the EUSR.

[b]Ventura Breaks Ground On A Record-Breaking Tower/b]
Venturans and architecture fans a likes celebrated as Mayor Julia Mendez alongside several city council members, urban developers, and telecom executives, broke ground on a brand new tower to accompany the new sports facilities in the Stadium District as part of the Western Ventura Urban Renewal Program. The tower, in which a contest will be held regarding the name, will stand at an impressive 2,146 feet when completed. While this ,ay not be the tallest tower in the world, it will certainly make the current tallest building in Belantica , the Nuranto Needle at 1,968 feet, look short in comparison.

The structure will be made using modern materials, but the design of the building will feature ancient construction techniques, which were proven to be beneficial in earthquake prone areas, in which Ventura is. Despite this, the design will have a clean and natural look, with details made to make both exterior and interior design feel open. Inside the tower, will be a television broadcasting center and a high-end restaurant on the second to top floor offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas. The top floor will be a dedicated observation deck, with acess outside onto a rooftop patio overlooking the downtown and harbor. At the base of the structure will be a shopping center and hotel, in tune with the design of the tower itself. While the area is still under heavy construction for the 2023 Commonweath Summer Games, they stated that construction on the tower won't be complete until after the games. While many as this is rather badlytimed or an eyesore, some feel that letting tourists see this grand tower under construction will invoke positivity. Many state this is reflecting a change in how Ventura perceives itself, and it's quest to earn a reputation outside of being a rowdy beach town.

Revonic Sea Heats Up, Northern Fleet on High Alert

Tension between two of the Eikangaardian nations once again threaten to create conflict. The Republic of Eikangaard and the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic both claim that the other is brewing trouble with the other. The Republic of Eikangaard's president has been granted emergency powers and they have begun to crackdown on perceived threats to their nation and has branded the EUSR to be a host for terrorism. In the meantime, the EUSR has armed its border with the Royal Union in a deterrent measure against the Republic of Eikangaard. Parliament has made an unusual decision to deal with this matter.

When Eikangaard first broke apart, parliament supported the Republic of Eikangaard with it economic benefits and military action. After their self-isolation, however, many wonder if the Republic of Eikangaard would consider Rezua a friend. With this in mind, parliament has not thrown their support behind the Republic, rather, they have decided to move the northern fleet closer to Eikangaard to observe. Meanwhile, parliament has reached out to the Kiezan government to assist in maintaining peace in Eikangaard, asking them to help protect the neutrality of the Royal Union. They have also asked the Republic of Eikangaard and the EUSR to consider speaking of peace once again, either independently or reaching out to Rezua and Kiez for assistance in creating peaceful courses of action. Parliament has explained its reason for doing so by stating simple facts. One, if either the Republic or the EUSR attack the other, the Royal Union would most likely be used as a stepping stone to do so. Two, if the Royal Union is invaded, the already abysmal living conditions will get even worse.

Elections remain at stand still

The public has begun to grow anxious as the inaugural prime minister elections, which was initially slated to only take 3 months, now crawls into it's fifth month. The slow pace is largely placed upon the fear of violent repercussions by fringe pro-monarchy groups such as the infamous Black Knight Ring, which was responsible for the 2012 car bombing of the headquarters of democracy first, the deadliest domestic terrorist attack in Talvistovan History. The fear has only increased since the violent riots that left 25 people injured at an anti-ACCS rally in for it's members oppression of democracy and it being signed into law in what is seen as the birthplace of democracy.

A reason on the delay the monarchists are putting forward is that the people of Talvistova are unsure how to handle a democracy, with a quote from a pro monarchy rally reading:
"These people have no idea what they have done to this once great nation! The country of Talvistova has rested sturdily for almost 250 years on the basis of Monarchy and Divine right to rule, and these 'protesters' saw it fit to throw it all away on the words of some college student that's already left the country and a broken old man a week from retirement and 2 steps from death's door! These people placed the future of this great nation in jeopardy because of two people who won't be around to reap what they have sown! So that's why I say we must rise up, and make our voices heard! let them know we will not allow them to spit on the graves of such great men as Wulffe Lindholm and King Juren II! We will not allow them to throw away our long and storied history and tradition for some nonsense new age [redacted]! We must fight for what we believe lest it be blown away to the dogs of hindsight!"

The statement does apparently does hold some water, as Sylvia Lunqvist, the fiery young King's College student who brought the movement to the forefront has since left to study abroad, and Pyotr Ivanov has sworn to step down from his post should the elections not be concluded by the end of the year. The statement also evidentally holds water as the authoritarian pro-monarchy party has begun to gain traction, with a reported 15% increase in party memberships over the past month.

The royal palace as well has also come out saying should it be agreed upon by a majority, they are willing to return to power should the country wish them to, which brings into question the potential of the very notably anti-Republic of Talvistova country to it's north interferring in the election to bring the monarchy back into power. We will continue to monitor this story as it continues to develop.

DEVELOPING NEWS: Diplomatic Relations formally established with the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic, Richtofen Administration stresses moderation and cool heads prevail within the region
Image

The Reichstag, Berlin, Kiez --- Having been initially reluctant to formally establish relations with the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic due to the turbulent stability of the region, reports have emerged directly from sources connected to high level personnel from the Richtofen Administration that efforts have been made to establish formal diplomatic relations with the EUSR. While speculation of the exact details of this establishment of diplomatic communications were not initially made clear, a surprise press conference with the Premier, who had been noted to increasingly rely more on spokespeople to speak on his behalf made a statement directly to the press. "We have carefully monitored the escalating situation within the formerly united territories of Elkangaard and have decided that due to the likelihood of another conflict possibly emerging out of the most recent accusation made directly by the Eikangaard Republic have we decided to take action." Premier Richtofen began in his statement regarding the matter.

"First and foremost, due to the increasing possibility of another war spilling out in the near future, the Socialist Republic of Kiez has officially established a Defensive Pact with the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic which entails the following details: In the event that the Republic of Eikangaard or any other sovereign state declares war upon the EUSR, the Kiez Armed Forces will be hereby instructed to assist in the defense of the EUSR mainland by any means afforded to them within the parameters established by the United Sunalayan Assembly. Secondly, in order to maintain the stability and security of the EUSR, the construction of multiple military bases to house assets of the Kiez Armed Forces as well as assets belonging to the Strategic Defense Initiative have officially commenced by military contractors belonging to not only the EUSR, but Kiez as well. Thirdly and most importantly, in the interest of maintaining continued prosperity and improvement of the current conditions within the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic, a Commercial and Economic Trade Agreement has been established between the two nations, with additional agreements being currently considered as this time."

It was at this point that reporters within the press room began to ask questions, with the most prevalent being "Will Kiez respond with an invasion upon the Republic of Eikangaard should they move to officially declare war upon the EUSR?" To which the Premier, appearing somewhat eager to answer the question responded with. "Due to the circumstances regarding the establishment of the Defensive Pact with the EUSR. I have ordered members of the Armed Forces to only operate in a defensive capacity should war break out between the two powers." Another, more prevalent question emerged from the reporters, imploring what the fate of the Royal Union of Eikangaard should the Republic and the EUSR go to war, as well as the Rezuans involvement in the Royal Union, to which the Premier simply replied "As the Royal Union is currently considered a neutral power in the incident between the Eikangaard Republic and the United Socialist Republic of Eikangaard. I am stressing that neither side utilize the Royal Union as a potential target of opportunity should either side move to declare war on each other. As for the Rezuans involvement in the defense of the Royal Union, I applaud their efforts at protecting an innocent nation from any aggression by either side."

Before ending the press conference there, the Premier finished by stating the following "I would like this to be made known to all sides that are either involved or have a stake in the fate of the territories of the once united people of Eikangaard. I do not seek war, nor do I wish to further incite the flames of war within a continent that has faced much bloodshed over the years. I implore that cool heads take control of the situation and that all involved parties come together to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. However, should the situation escalate into open war between the EUSR and the Republic, the Kiez Armed Forces will not hesitate to defend the territories of the EUSR to the best of their ability, as well as ensure that the Royal Union does not get caught into the crossfire, thank you."

In Other News:
- Tri-Tech Corporation expresses interest in establishing a corporate office within the EUSR, desiring to help improve upon the current standards within the aforementioned country.
- Kiez and Rezua: future allies or possible enemies?
- Approval ratings of Premier Richtofen reach all time low of 48%, Likely to have partial increase due to the establishment of diplomatic relations with the EUSR.
- Multipartisian Group of Representatives introduce a resolution to officially abolish the title of "President of the Reichstag", expected to reach Premier Richtofen's desk within the week.

Plans to turn desert island on the west cost of Calva in to irrigated lands put forward by Agricultural Council

Image

During the afternoon meeting of the Land and Fisheries Department, an interesting proposal was put forward by one of the members. The proposal is to attempt to expand the farmable and inhabitable land of calva by attempting to terraform an island that sits of the bay of bears in the west of the nation. The proposal was met by some very passionate views both for and against. Many of those against such as the National Treasury claim that the negative effect of the cost of attempting to terraform and build infrastructure on the island would outweigh the benefits as such grand projects could cripple the stable economy. Whilst others such claim that the National Treasury is being too doom and gloom and forgets that if the investment the island will repay what was invested and bring many a benefit for both the nation and the National Council as it will help provide both more food and resources for the nation and provide more areas to build houses to support the growing population of Calva.

BREAKING: AIT Opposition Coalition Collapses

In Vesvai the Alliance for Independent Tomorrow (AIT) opposition coalition has formally dissolved itself. The leading and most influential force in Vesvai’s political opposition is no more. The parties that formed AIT have announced that they would be parting ways and each now functioning on its own. The AIT opposition coalition was originally formed to run in the last general election in Vesvai where the ruling VHU party was aiming to get re-elected as a governing majority. The AIT lost the election to VHU which claimed victory by getting re-elected as a governing majority. The AIT opposition coalition disputed the general election results and the legitimacy of VHU as a governing majority again. Since then the AIT coalition has remained active and most of its energy has been going into disputing the general election results and protesting every single step of the VHU-led governing. AIT has been consolidating other opposition parties along with civilian groups in Vesvai and continuously inciting unrest in the nation to protest VHU’s governance. AIT boycotted all parliamentary votes and looked for any possible excuse to trigger protests in Vesvai with the general message that the VHU is governing illegally and has no right to make any decisions about anything because of election fraud. The general election was inestigated and it was concluded to have been fair. Vesvai’s Supreme Court ruled that the general election was fair. But that was not enough to AIT. Among other destabilizing actions the formation of New Vesvai and its eventual separation as an independent state has been largely attributed to AIT’s actions. This is supported by the fact that the local branch of AIT in New Vesvai is now the governing majority there. It has raised questions about AIT’s loyalty to the state of Vesvai and whether it isn’t a foreign-backed political force created to destabilize and break up Vesvai from the inside.

The branch of AIT in Vesvai might now be gone but New Vesvai’s AIT is the governing one in that break-away nation as mentioned before. In Vesvai the local AIT had only been in the opposition. The AIT coalition formally split in two after New Vesvai declared independence and AIT won the general election in the new nation. In Vesvai AIT remained an opposition force after losing the general election to the governing VHU party. The refusal by AIT to admit fair defeat in Vesvai also made it refuse becoming a moderate political opposition in the nation. The overwhelming majority of the coalition’s activities have been focused on inciting endless street protests and unrest, disputing election results, undermining the government along with the courts and other state institutions such as police and military, being in solidarity with New Vesvai and Vesvai’s other enemies, boycotting parliamentary votes. Experts said that the split of New Vesvai from Vesvai and the subsequent split of AIT in two branches of a Vesvai’s AIT and a New Vesvai’s AIT was the beginning of an end of AIT. Apparently they were absolutely right.

Many politicians from parties within the AIT coalition announced early plans of emigrating to New Vesvai, trying to get citizenship there and restarting political careers as New Vesvai’s new politicians. These opposition members would be aiming to join the local AIT coalition which is governing New Vesvai. Some oppositions politicians said that of course to join New Vesvai’s wing of AIT these emigrating dissidents would have to wait for the next general election in New Vesvai to get a parliament seat or an office position in the government. Other politicians from parties that formed the local AIT would continue their political careers in their own parties. Some have already started talks on maybe forming new smaller coalitions. Opposition parties that have decided to stay on their own have declared an ambition to maybe win a majority in the future general election or have their candidates triumph in municipal elections. Both are goals aiming very high but they are confident that if VHU can be a governing party on its own and without forming a coalition with anybody then so can their parties single-handedly.

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal commented on the dissolution of the AIT opposition coalition: “[O]ur party is not going to hide that we see the dissolution of AIT as a positive thing. AIT was a radical political force with questionable ties to foreign supporters. We are looking at you, Western Corentia. AIT was to blame for all destabilization in Vesvai in recent memory. It was AIT’s primary function since the last general election and they did nothing more. So we think that an end to AIT will bring peace and a sense of calm back to Vesvai. Don’t forget that a branch of AIT in New Vesvai is now a governing force there and many of these opposition politicians are now aiming to emigrate there and join the local AIT or start new political careers. It should make it clear how loyal AIT was to the state of Vesvai. So us being free of AIT at least in our part of an island will only be something positive to us.

But don’t confuse this as our government’s stance against the opposition in general. Vesvai is a democratic nation, right? That means that we need an opposition. I hope that the parties formally within AIT can now wash off from the past and start fresh. They deserve a second chance at actually becoming moderate and patriotic opposition instead of radicals aimed at destabilizing Vesvai at any step. Let the traitors emigrate but those that want to stay here have a new opportunity. Realize your wrongdoing and become moderate opposition. Form new coalitions if you want but don’t have them repeat the same mistake that AIT did. Better yet try having your parties be on their own and see how far you can go without forming coalitions with others. Have some confidence in your own parties. VHU is not in a coalition with anybody and look at us. We have been a governing party many times already and we still are today. Try your luck at replicating our success. Just put the AIT past behind you. Of course this message is not only to the existing opposition parties. We also welcome new ones and welcome the younger generation to join Vesvai’s politics.”

Republic Denounces Kiezan Involvement, Doubles Down on Anti-Communist Policy

Following a few days of debate, the Republic of Eikangaard has formally acknowledged the apparent Kiezan backing of the EUSR. It also addressed the Rezuan calls for mediation in the conflict and touched on the topic of the Royal Union in its address. According to a spokesman, the response was put forward by the President himself, but that he declined to speak publicly. Instead, the news was delivered by Vice-President Pabuk Thaksin on his behalf.

"Fellow citizens of the Republic, I come before you to address the issue of continued communist escalations within Eikangaard. The terrorist state of the Eikangaard United Socialist Republic has formally signed a deal with the Socialist Reich of Kiez. This deal, while claimed to be defensive in nature, is a direct attack on our Republic, as it would act as a safeguard for communism. This cannot stand. The Republic will not rest until the communist element which seeks to rid us of the liberty and democracy which we have striven for since the civil war ended the reign of corrupt tyrants. As long as communist elements remain on the Eikan mainland, there can be no true peace.

We also worry about the attempts by the EUSR to undermine the neutrality of the Royal Union in their attempts to place us under the boot of communism. They have built up armed forces on the Royal Union's border, and we believe that this overture of 'mutual defense' as they put it is nothing more than an attempt to use a neutral country as a staging point. We must warn the Royal Union, that while we respect your neutrality, any further rapprochements with the EUSR will not be tolerated. If we believe that you intend to willingly harbor communist elements within your country that present a clear a present threat to the Republic, we will respond with force if need be. To this end, the President has ordered that all Military branches of the Republic are to be placed on a wartime readiness footing, and are to be deployed on the Royal Union's border to counter any movements by the EUSR. That is all."

The Republic has also confirmed that it is speaking to a number of foreign dignitaries, including opening relations with the United States of Ouraicon. The President will be reportedly meeting officials from the country to talk about increasing the inflow of humanitarian aid to the Republic to offset any costs incurred by a potential war with the EUSR. They have not yet ruled out the possibility of negotiating the purchase of arms and ammunition from the Corentian nation.

J. O., Sandra Andres And Aglomera Congratulate Each Other On Their Sunalayavision Song Contest Performances, Show Backstage Friendship

Image

The results of the Sunalayavision Song Contest are not yet known. Nevertheless, the competitive side of the event sometimes gets overshadowed by the fact that Sunalayavision is first of all a celebration meant to generate positive emotions and for all involved to “have fun”, speaking in a simplified manner. 3 of the contest’s participants have greatly projected that other side of Sunalayavision by demonstrating good sportsmanship and even “sisterhood” in-between the performances and backstage.

Our very own artistic representative in this Sunalayavision Song Contest – Aglomera, as well as New Vesvai’s representative J.O. and the representative of The Seven United (Damsmar) – Sandra Andres, have given each other warm congratulations on each other’s performances. Even though the 3 ladies are technically rivals in this competition, that factor has not transferred onto their interactions during the contest. The artists have been hanging out together in the contest, taking pictures together backstage, while holding their countries’ flags, sometimes even switching each other’s national flags among themselves. In-between performances, the artists have also been spotted sitting at each other’s national team table, getting to better know personally not only each other, but also the rest of each other’s teams and bands that played for the countries.

Aglomera said that J. O. of New Vesvai and Sandra Andres of The Seven United (Damsmar) are wonderful. The Sunrisian musician even teased the possibility of them getting together and performing as a trio sometime, when an occasion arises. Could we be observing a potential international “girl group” in the making? We don’t know, but anything could be possible in the world of musical arts and show business. Aglomera did not go as far as to explicitly give us this type of scoop, but it is fun to speculate. The Sunrisian musician did not hide that the song by J. O. of New Vesvai – “One of Us”, is among her favorites in the contest. Aglomera stated that she was not “put off” by the Christian themes in the song, despite Christianity being a foreign religion to Sunrisia. The artist said that she supports religious tolerance, but believes that the song of J.O. has deeper layers than just the Christian themes sung openly in the lyrics.

Aglomera said that, in the end, it does not matter who ends up winning, but the important thing is that the Sunalayavision Song Contest was fun and an occasion to move away from the tense geopolitical climate for a little while, instead bringing focus towards the arts.

Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB) leads anti-globalist demonstrations, President Dobrin Nóvak calls for a meeting with demonstration leaders

Image

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – The streets of capital Jugac have been engulfed in peaceful demonstrations and marches. An identical situation is happening in all major cities of South Baggnagia and has been spilling over into smaller towns. These demonstrations in South Baggnagia are aimed against globalism and are led the Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB). NPSB is an opposition party that has only won a single seat in the Chamber of Deputies during the parliamentary election. The performance at the election has not apparently been a demonstration of the party’s influence. A lot has changed in South Baggnagia since and the party can now convince huge masses of people to go out into the streets.

The anti-globalist protest is clearly aimed at the VU and against South Baggnagian integration into the organization. The South Baggnagian government has already frozen its Ventismarian integration foreign policy but has decided not to withdraw from the treaty with the VU which names South Baggnagia as an aspirant nation. The most demonstrative things done was the removal of VU’s flag from public display at government buildings and everywhere else it was put up after South Baggnagia became an aspirant. The second gesture was renaming the position of foreign minister into Minister of Foreign and Ventismarian Affairs (previously Ventismarian Integration). The post is presently held by Minister Jurij Zéjler-Leichhardt.

The leadership of NPSB in these protests raises the chances for the party to triumph in the future parliamentary election. The anti-globalist demonstrations encouraging to pull out of integration with VU promote neutrality for South Baggnagia. But the demonstrators support saving the strong military alliance with Sunrisia which South Baggnagia depends on for defense against North Baggnagia. The anti-globalist demonstrators simply believe that South Baggnagia should stay out of international organizations and balance relations between different parts of the world.

The South Baggnagian government appears to have already shifted towards the anti-globalist foreign policy before these protests. The president, the cabinet and the Chamber of Deputies led by the Baggnagian Awakening (BA) party majority share the anti-globalist sentiment. The government and the demonstrators led by the opposition party are not in a dispute here. These demonstrations simply confirm the new public attitudes of today which have changed since the past.

President Dobrin Nóvak has invited the leadership of the NPSB opposition party to talk to him and discuss on how the government, the opposition and the society can work together on moving South Baggnagia in a proper direction. That means even if the new direction would be neutrality.

New Vesvai’s And Vesvai’s Sunalayavision Performers Nearly Got Into A Fight At The Contest

Image Image

This year’s Sunalayavision Song Contest did not go by just with the songs behind the primary focus. There were a lot of interesting moments behind the scenes. The most positive and heartwarming moment was the friendship shown between New Vesvai’s artist J.O. with the Sunrisian singer Aglomera and the Damsmarian singer Sandra Andres. But there was also the ugly side to the events behind the scenes.

Before the contest the entire band of J.O. and all members of Vesvai’s band Frontline Marchers (who represented Vesvai in the competition) promised to stay out of each other’s way and not interact backstage. Unfortunately things did not go over in a civilized way as planned. Before both sets of artists were due to perform there were aggressive verbal exchanges backstage but no direct altercation. When time came for J.O. to perform as the 9th song of the night Vesvai’s team booed before the performance and booed afterwards. Fortunately J.O. ignored it and was able to give a great performance.

The next incident came not between the teams of New Vesvai and Vesvai but between Vesvai’s Frontline Marchers band and the Sunrisian singer Aglomera. The Frontline Marchers were due to perform as the 12th performers of the night right after Aglomera who went 11th. Aglomera was walking off stage after a great performance right as the Frontline Marchers were about to take the stage. Aglomera and the Frontline Marchers stared each other down and had some aggressive verbal exchanges before Aglomera mockingly waved her hand at Vesvai’s band and walked off. The angry stares of the Frontline Marchers followed Aglomera off stage but it ended with that. Obviously there was no physical engagement because Aglomera was just one woman with a microphone while the Frontline Marchers are a group of men in a decent physical shape. But Aglomera did not appear intimidated for a second. This stressful moment did not seem to affect the performance of the Frontline Marchers even although the band members were visibly sweating on stage.

The final true escalation of the night came closer to the competition’s end when final performers were taking the stage. J.O. and the Frontline Marchers were once again engaged in a verbal altercation backstage before members of the Frontline Marchers and the male members of the J.O. band got to close to each other and nearly got into a fight. Luckily no physical altercation happened but both teams were dangerously close and stared each other down before walking off into opposite direction.

J.O. commented that the provocative behavior came from Vesvai’s representatives because J.O. went there with only the competition and the arts in mind. New Vesvai’s team had no intention of interacting with Vesvai’s representatives or provoking them. Even when the Frontline Marchers were performing J.O. did not retaliate by booing before and after their performance. But there were no cheers or applause of any kind either. Just complete silence.

The aggressive behavior of the Frontline Marchers demonstrated Vesvai’s attitude towards New Vesvai that managed to break away (betray in Vesvai’s view) and Sunrisia which is the main ally and protector of New Vesvai.

AIT Coalition Dissolves In Vesvai, Making Vesvai Loose Its Only Real And Effective Political Opposition Body

Vesvai’s has placed the final nail in the coffin of its democracy which has already died a while ago. This nail in the coffin was not directly placed by the VHU-led government but was a result of the autocratic leadership’s politics. The Alliance for Independent Tomorrow (AIT) coalition in Vesvai (the leading political opposition in the nation) has exhausted itself and disbanded. The parties that made up the coalition have announced the dissolution of AIT and going separate ways. Some parties will try to independently compete with VHU and probably one day achieve the same governing majority that VHU has been enjoying for long. This is either a naïve way to think or the previously moral parties have decided to go in the same corrupt route and try to seize power for themselves in the future like the VHU. Maybe some will actually try to cooperate with VHU and get a piece of the governing pie with better success that they would have as an opposition party. These former AIT parties claim they would remain in the opposition but there is a risk that they would be marginalized even more and turned into systemic opposition at best under VHU’s control. They wouldn’t be the real opposition. Other parties have already thrown hints of forming new smaller coalitions on the ruins of the large and influential AIT which is no more. But these are only the plans of those who intend to stay and continue political careers in Vesvai.

There is a third category of former AIT members that want to emigrate to New Vesvai, get citizenship here, restart careers as local politicians and maybe join New Vesvai’s AIT coalition which is the governing majority in New Vesvai’s government. Prime Minister Kai Placore commented that it is possible put the aspirants would not only need to get citizenship first and swear allegiance to New Vesvai but also hope to get elected. It is going to be more complicated since New Vesvai has fair and free elections with actual political competition unlike in the northern neighbor.

Respect goes out to the opposition parties within the former AIT and outside the former AIT that still plan to stay in Vesvai and fight the VHU. It is truly heroic if these opposition parties actually intend to continue what they’ve been doing and not try to become a systemic opposition within a corrupt system where VHU would promise them some benefits. Hopefully that is a conspiracy theory and not the case. The joyful reaction from VHU itself is not a good signal and supports the conspiracy theory that the authoritarian government has managed to strike a deal with the local opposition and give them a piece of the pie. But whatever the case is obviously it is a triumph for VHU. The usurpation by VHU is now unchallenged because the only influential and strong opposition force has collapsed. The rest of the political and civil opposition in Vesvai can now be easily marginalized and their political influence neutered. A successful one party dictatorship has formed in Vesvai. The scary reality across the border makes it fortunate for New Vesvai to enjoy its independence and freedom while staying a beacon of hope for all Vesvaian people in the world.

Minister Of Security Vírân Spêctér Continues International Tour

Image

Minister of Security of the Sunrisian Second Republic Vírân Spêctér is continuing his international tour of select Corentian countries. The states designated for the Minister’s international tour are (in order) – Creperia, New Vesvai, The Seven United (Damsmar), Daredland and Edereon. Creperia, Edereon and The Seven United (Damsmar) are Sunrisian allies in MDAA, Daredland is 1 of 2 associate states of MDAA along with Smoya, while New Vesvai is a military ally under the Mutual Defense Treaty (Sunrisia–New Vesvai). Minister Vírân Spêctér eventually plans to visit West Zilveren Berg and Smoya, but that is going to be on another tour.

The Minister of Security started his tour with Creperia, where he met President Karr Gaudēl, Prime Minister Ditt Regimēna, Creperian counterpart Minister of National Defense Ress Fēlicit, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikk Korsān, as well as visited the Sunrisian soldiers stationed in Creperia and the Sunrisian ballistic missile defense system also stationed in the country. His next stop was New Vesvai, where he met the Head of the Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army, the rest of New Vesvai’s cabinet, New Vesvai’s MPs in the government and the opposition, the general command of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army, as well as visited the headquarters of the Sunrisian Dogmanan Command (SUNDOCOM) based in New Vesvai.

Minister Vírân Spêctér is currently on a visit in The Seven United (Damsmar). Traditionally, the agenda of the visit is meeting with the members of the country’s government and visiting Sunrisian soldiers in Caledonia, Eastern Damsmar, stationed on a rotational basis. There are currently 4,000 troops stationed in Caledonia. The Department of Security clarified that there would not be an offer or dialogue on expanding Sunrisian infrastructure eastwards by establishing military bases, facilities or other objects in The Seven United (Damsmar). At least that is not on the agenda now. The same goes for Daredland. In an interesting offer, the Minister of Security was offered to visit the Montedoran, a problematic region of The Seven United (Damsmar) plagued by militant activity, terrorism and a complicated question of separatism and the status of the Montedoran. Sunrisian diplomats had offered help to The Seven United (Damsmar) in creating a framework for a possible, yet complicated for obvious reasons, dialogue between conflicting parties. No military aid has been offered, because the complexity of the Montedoran problem makes it difficult to form a specific strategy and an action plan. Outside military involvement is not perceived as a productive addition that would lead towards any kind of settlement in the Montedoran. However, there is reason to believe that the Montedoran militant groups of questionable reputation and having done questionable things, have been receiving covert support in a form of supplies from foreign sponsors, otherwise they would not have held up neither against the local authorities nor the national armed forces, police and intelligence agencies for long. Nevertheless, specific conclusions on foreign aid to the militant groups in the Motedoran have not been made. In a clever decision, understanding the complexity of the situation in the Montedoran, the leadership of The Seven United (Damsmar) has decided to keep dealing with it on its own, as the country’s internal affair. Nevertheless, it is likely that the Sunrisian side will be offering humanitarian aid for the Montedoran to The Seven United (Damsmar) and intelligence support to help investigate if the militant groups in the Montedoran are receiving outside help by hostile foreign states wishing to destabilize the situation in The Seven United (Damsmar) overall by targeting the Montedoran as a weak spot and a problematic area.

After the visit in The Seven United (Damsmar) is completed, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér will be heading to Daredland and afterwards to Edereon, as the final location of the tour, before coming back home to Sunrisia. Minister of International Relations of the Sunrisian Second Republic Edén Sȏlítûdá is planned to replicate the tour of Minister Vírân Spêctér, by visiting the exact same countries and in the exact same order. However, instead of a military and defense agenda, Minister Edén Sȏlítûdá would be going on a diplomatic mission.

Allentyrian General Election Begin in 1 Week -- by Marie Kaarsberg

Ålhavn, Svangerby -- As the 41st Allentyrian General Election draws closer, political parties vying for the premiership had stepped up their rhetoric in recent weeks, with the Allentyrian Greens losing the majority of their support in light of a recent discovery that a prominent member received "donations" from a gas company. In another case, the Allentyrian Freedom Party had seen their leadership splintering over key issues to tackle in the election. The three other parties have seen their own share of issues, however none of them have been hit quite as hard.

The incumbent prime minister, Line Bonde, has to step down even if her party manages to win this next election due to term limits. Her replacement would be Lars Thorsrud, currently the Vice President of the Allentyrian People's Party. Her premiership has been during a relatively troubled era of Sunalayan politics, with multiple conflicts erupting across the globe and one even in Allentyr's backyard. Her neutral approach has been by some opposition MPs as insufficient to protect Allentyr's national interests. Further, the Social Democrats have also criticized her lack of action towards reviving the struggling economies of the northern states such as Nordurlavik or Østholm. However, despite this, her government has been praised for their success in further modernizing the education system and improving critical emergency services. In addition, aging infrastructure in several cities had been upgraded to avoid future failure despite costs involved.

The General Election will be held on the 14th of March with a mandatory ban on political campaigning starting on the 9th. The Allentyrian People's Party is projected to win by most political analysts.

The following are the candidates and their party stances:

Official Response From Royal Union: Everyone Shove Off

After being offered a mutual defense pact by the EUSR, and shortly thereafter being threatened with an armed response by the Republic, the Royal Union of Eikangaard has given its response. That response being to reject the overture by the EUSR, whilst also making a move to remove itself from the conflict. The Monarch of the Royal Union, Queen Maeda Sorensen, in a rare public appearance, stated the following:

"We will not pursue any further relations with the communist bloc in Eikangaard, nor will we be making moves towards the Republic. We find both nations at odds with our own views, and wish to remain neutral to that conflict. That being said, we do not hold confidence that we will be able to secure our borders from simultaneous invasion. It has been clear that our territory is seen as little more than a battleground by both sides. Therefore, we have decided to relinquish control of a section of our territory consisting of a 15-kilometer-wide strip on the coast of Rurskaad Bay on our western shore.

You may all fight amongst yourselves there. Do not contact us. Do not attempt to drag us into another war. We want no part in your petty squabbles."

President Dobrin Nóvak dissolves parliament, replacing it with the Congress of National Sovereignty

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – President Dobrin Nóvak has used the power of his position to order the dissolution of the Chamber of Deputies. The move is a surprise because the president’s own party the Baggnagian Awakening (BA) held a parliamentary majority. The order was issued after yesterday’s meeting between the president and the leaders of the nationwide anti-globalist demonstrations behind closed doors. President Dobrin Nóvak offered to meet the protest leaders on Tuesday to which the other side agreed later in the day. The meeting was held at the presidential headquarters late in the afternoon on Wednesday. The president met with the representatives of the Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB), an opposition party. NPSB is the party that has lead the anti-globalist demonstrations in South Baggnagia. The meeting was very secretive but both sides announced late in the evening on Wednesday that an agreement was reached. They did not disclose what it was and said it that it would become known on Thursday. It now appears that the dissolution of parliament was that agreement.

Under protocol the dissolution of parliament would mean a snap election but not in this case. Instead of holding a snap parliamentary election President Dobrin Nóvak has ordered to replace the Chamber of Deputies with the Congress of National Sovereignty as the new national legislature of South Baggnagia. The presidential order is effective immediately and basically amends the constitution. The president has confirmed that this was part of the agreement with the NPSB party and the anti-globalist demonstrators. The Congress of National Sovereignty would be led by members of the opposition NPSB party that only held one seat in the Chamber of Deputies but was the main organizer of the mass anti-globalist demonstrations. The Congress of National Sovereignty replacing the Chamber of Deputies would enjoy popular support because that is an outcome of nationwide demonstrations. President Dobrin Nóvak said that the parliament and his own party members have not been enthusiastic about leaving. The situation is turbulent but according to the president the Baggnagian Awakening (BA) is trying to act rationally and with understanding to their own party member’s decision as president. The Socialist Bloc (SB) criticized the move as a self-coup and a power grab. SB party compared the move to what Fran Hapénic did which caused the break-up of Baggnagia. President Dobrin Nóvak opposed these accusations as a deep personal insult to be compared to the North Baggnagian dictator. The president expects that the deputies will comply and he will not have to resort to addressing the police or inviting the military into the city to actually arrest the deputies disobeying the constitution. President Dobrin Nóvak asked the deputies not to cause a constitutional crisis.

The order of business is for the Chamber of Deputies to now abandon their posts as a defunct parliament. The Congress of National Sovereignty will be taking over as a new parliament for South Baggnagia and will be headed by the Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress of National Sovereignty who will be elected by the deputies of Congress. After reshuffling his own cabinet not that long ago President Dobrin Nóvak said that there are no plans to make any changes in the current cabinet and that the anti-globalist demonstrators had no demands towards making changes in the president’s administration. Demands were only made to sack the parliament and constitutionally dissolve the Chamber of Deputies as the legislature of South Baggnagia.

Foreign Office Condemns "Blatant Coup" in South Baggnagia

Image

Foreign Minister, Samantha Curie MP (DP), has today come out in protest over the developments in South Baggnagia calling the event a "clear and well executed coup".

This is the second time Samantha Curie has attacked developments in South Baggnagia with the Foreign Office previously lodging a formal diplomatic complaint to the Sunrisian and South Baggnagian governments over their use of sudden and unannounced military exercises in the Nordismar. It has only been 15 days since Samantha Curie's Sunrisian counterpart, Vice Minister of International Relations Fîbrá Acíesên, travelled to Capsland to discuss the matter among other things.

However, in this instance, the Foreign Office have directly attacked to development in South Baggnagia as an "insult, attack and deliberate affront to democracy and stability in the Nordismar" calling on the South Baggnagian Ambassador to guarantee the Capslandian government that there will be no direct instability that threatens the peace and prosperity of the Nordismar.

Executive Chancellor, David George (DP), has made it very clear in his ambitions that he, nor the Democracy Party, will tolerate any sort of threat or instability to the Nordismar even going as far as committing resources to the Ventismarian Union's humanitarian efforts in Eikangaard and the Umbrelliet border.

"The Foreign Office has taken it upon itself with the mandate given to it by the National Parliament and by His Majesty's government to express our concern regarding the recent events in South Baggnagia and to condemn them forthwith with all our vigour.

It is in this unfortunate time that we see a direct threat to the continued prosperity and stability of the Nordismar and hope that the situation in South Baggnagia can be resolved without violence.

It was established by this government and governments preceding, that the Federal Kingdom of Capsland stands very much ready and willing to help resolve issues in Ventismar, providing a productive and reliable ground for discussion and resolution. However, this government and this Foreign Office cannot and will not be idle in handling this matter and will deal with this challenge appropriately.

The South Baggnagian ambassador to Capsland has been called to allow us to get a grasp of the situation and share needed insight into the matter. However, the decision to diplomatically condemn and formally complain to the South Baggnagian government is irreversible.

Ultimately, we disagree with the decision of the South Baggnagian government and will make that very clear."

Samantha Curie, MP, Foreign Minister

Department Of International Relations And Gen. Pártên Câstódél, Commander Of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB), Issue Individual Statements On The Situation In South Baggnagia

South Baggnagia is undergoing a political/constitutional crisis. Today, the country’s head of state – President Dobrin Nóvak, has issued a decree, ordering the dissolution of the South Baggnagian national parliament – the Chamber of Deputies. After sacking the parliament, instead of calling for a snap parliamentary election according to protocol that was cited by the local media sources in South Baggnagia, the President of South Baggnagia has announced that the parliament would be rendered constitutionally defunct and replaced by a brand new legislature – the Congress of National Sovereignty, which would be presided over by the Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress of National Sovereignty. The Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress of National Sovereignty would be elected by the members of Congress.

President Dobrin Nóvak of South Baggnagia dissolved the Chamber of Deputies, where his own party – the Baggnagian Awakening (BA) held a solid parliamentary majority without having to form a coalition with any other parties. This event comes in the light of nationwide anti-globalist protests that have been taking place in South Baggnagia and led by one of the country’s opposition parties – the Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB). On Tuesday, President Dobrin Nóvak called for a dialogue with the NPSB-run leadership of the anti-globalist demonstrations, to which the opposition later agreed. The following day, on Wednesday late in the afternoon, the President of South Baggnagia and the NPSB-run leadership of the anti-globalist demonstrations met and held one-on-one talks at the Presidential HQ behind closed doors. They have announced in late evening on Wednesday that an agreement has been reached, but both parties declined to disclose what agreement was, instead saying that it would become known on Thursday. Today, President Dobrin Nóvak of South Baggnagia dissolved the parliament and disbanded the Chamber of Deputies as the legislature of South Baggnagia. The Congress of National Sovereignty has taken over as the new parliament. President Nóvak kept his cabinet.

Spokesperson for the Department of International Relations of the Sunrisian Second Republic Elén Spêctrá-Fâmína issued the following statement:

We have doubts that the situation in South Baggnagia will develop in the violent direction, given the difficult climate for that kind of an unstable situation to occur. We look forward to seeing the smoke clear on this political/constitutional crisis and South Baggnagia returning to a calm existence. However, as a back-up option, in case of a violent shift, Sunrisia is ready to cooperate with the countries of Western Ventismar on humanitarian and settlement efforts. As the closest ally of the South Baggnagian people, we recommend that the parties taking responsibility for national well-being and governance, make an effort to allow the situation in the country to stabilize and for all sides to strongly avoid making mistakes that would be difficult to reverse.

Hours later, General Pártên Câstódél, the Commander of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB), also issued a statement on the status of the mission and orders given by commander-in-chief President Válîd Sâlúbĕr, the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic and general command of the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF):

Our general objectives remain unchanged. We have received orders to stay put and not to intervene with the political situation in South Baggnagia, as that is an internal affair of this country and its’ citizens. The Sunrisian mission here is not to encroach on South Baggnagian sovereignty, but to protect this country, a military ally of Sunrisia, from attacks or invasions by external parties in accordance with the Mutual Defense Treaty (Sunrisia–South Baggnagia).

The only updates given on our orders, were that in case of violence or a humanitarian crisis, our forces stationed in South Baggnagia may have to cooperate with additionally deployed Sunrisian forces and Western Ventismarian partners in transferring and distributing humanitarian aid into South Baggnagia. These potential updates on our orders and our current mandated mission, were issued to Sunrisian forces both under my exclusive command within Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB) and to the Sunrisian forces within the Joint Task Force (JTF), under a South Baggnagian and a Sunrisian command. The only part of Sunrisian forces exempt from these order updates are the forces ground forces under the command of Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN), who operate in the South Baggnagian exclave of Neodvisni with a specific mission of protecting that city and who are detached from the mainland and what goes on here.

As soldiers, stationed here with a specific mission of ensuring the security and well-being of this country and its’ people, we recommend that any parties considering to shed blood, seriously reconsider that option. We mean it very seriously and recommend that we are not provoked to go beyond our orders an to violate our specific and limited mandate. That would be all. Thank you.

In other news:

  • Political discourse and public debate going on in Sunrisia on whether to keep the current system of 2 terms of 4 years for a single President to be eligible to run for office or return to the old system of 3 terms of 3 years from the days of the First Republic. This would extend eligibility for a President to be able to serve 9 years total instead of 8. A constitutional amendment on presidential term limits would require a national referendum.

  • Convet votes to grant 60-day visa exemption to citizens of New Vesvai travelling to Sunrisia. New Vesvai becomes 10th country to have 60-day visa exemption for its’ citizens, when entering Sunrisia.
