Krafen, Frasian Viceroyalty – This month brings big news to the automotive scene, with two releases being announced this week. Firstly, the Orilyan company Wivern has announced that it will be releasing an international subsidiary that will aim to deliver "high quality vehicles for reasonable prices" which "mix both luxury and sportiness in one package." As of now, the company primarily produces middle class and lower luxury vehicles in Orilya based on BMV designs formatted for usage in the Orilyan nation. However, CEO Erwin Horstmann stated that Wivern International will be a drastically different from its parent company. Appearing at the BMV headquarters in Berlin today, the Wivern showcase was presented before the crowds. Horstmann focused on the company's "flagship" vehicle, the M56 Kobra, which was said to be available in a multitude of trims for any customer. At the presentation, the vehicle was shown in two different formats: a 2 door "S" model sport coupe and a 4 door "S" model sport "hatch-sedan." The vehicle was described as a "mix of utilitarianism, sportiness, with a good splash of luxury" and was for the person "who wanted to do anything" with their car. Also at the presentation was the significantly longer M65 Kürassier, an elongated version of the M56 that sacrificed the rear passenger doors for more room to carry cargo in the rear. However, many were interested in the last vehicle at the presentation: the M46 Eko. The M46 is the vehicle designed for "the average family to be able to enjoy a vehicle that mixes usefulness, affordability, and an enjoyable ride." This vehicle will be the least expensive vehicle in the Wivern lineup as of now, costing as little as NSD$12,500 for the basic model without extra features. It will possess a lighter weight and a less-powerful engine, but will make up for these with a higher fuel-efficiency rumoured to be 40-43 MPG. The M46 resenbkes the M56 4 door, but lacks the extra components that give the M56 its NSD$25,000 starting price tag. Each vehicle will be available in different trims: the M46 sporting a base model ($12,500), "S" model ($16,000-21,000), and an "EX" model ($19,000-25,000); the M56 will sport a base model (NSD$25,000), "S" model ($28,000+), an "EX" model ($28,000+), and a plug-in hybrid model ($26,500+); the M65 will sport a base model ($28,000+), "S" model ($32,000+), an "EX" model ($37,000+), and a plug-in hybrid model ($35,000+). The vehicles are set to release in each continent, starting in Corentia, week-by-week.
In other news, BMV has announced the revival of its classic KB3 Kabriolett coupe. The original KB3 was produced from 1999-2005 and consisted of ~5,000 models produced. However, spokesman Max Kaber stated today that the company would be reviving the model to "give drivers another chance" to own one of the vehicles. The KB8 will resemble the KB3 in most ways, but will differ significantly in terms of its electronics and engine. In terms of electronics, the vehicle will be equipped with the 2019 BMV kDrive entertainment system that allows drivers to both enjoy their favourite form of entertainment and monitor the vehicle from a set of two monitors in the centre of the dashboard. Non-convertible coupe variants will also be equipped with the kDrive heads-up-display projected on the windshield ahead of the driver, which will display important information from the vehicle and from an optional phone connection. To counter texting while driving, the 2019 kDrive system will allow drivers to choose how messages will be delivered: appearing on the HUD or read by the onboard computer. They will be able to dictate their return messages to the computer, which will then send the messages to the intended recipient. For the engine, the vehicle will be equipped with the BMV Feuerdrache V8, with options to add the BMV Kriegsadler V12 or Blitz full-electric drive. The vehicle will be set to be produced from 2019 to 2023, and will be available in every continent. It is set to be released in two months, with the starting price of NSD$85,000 for the base V8 model.
