Vesvai’s Opposition Calls For A Military Coup: Proponents Of The Coup Arrested

The Aurisi Police Department has made a number of high-profile arrests. Among the detainees are politicians from the AIT opposition coalition and other political parties. Also there are members of various NGOs linked with Vesvai’s civil opposition. After APD made the arrests the authorities and police in Vesvai’s other cities were encouraged to search for and detain opposition-associated people in their districts. These arrests were made after the political and civil opposition to the government called upon the nation’s military the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces to overthrow Vesvai’s VHU-led government. They were basically calling for a military coup which is strongly prohibited as an act of extremism and a threat to results of democratic elections. This has made it appropriate for the police to act the way it did.

Following the mass arrests the homes of coup proponents were raided to see if they were preparing some separate armed insurrection or provocations for mass unrest in Vesvai’s cities through protests without a permit. As the hunt for coup proponents goes on inside Vesvai the government will also be reaching out to ask for extradition of Vesvai’s citizens from abroad that also called for a coup. Vesvai’s Ministry of Defense and Security reassured the government that the military would never act in such unconstitutional manner. The commanding leadership of the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces backed up the Ministry’s statement and expressed support for the government. The military instead back up the position that the coup proponents should be treated as criminals and extremists. Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta has called the coup proponents “animals.” Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal spoke out at the Parliament which was unsurprisingly attended only by MPs from the ruling VHU party:

”Any attempts to carry out or encourage a change of government in Vesvai by force is in direct violation of the constitution and the law. It is illegal. The authorities have appropriately dealt with the proponents of a military coup by detaining them. They will be tried for their crime. I thank the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces for ignoring the provocateurs and for staying on the right side. The military has even made a contribution in helping detain the criminals. Our troops saw this as a personal insult that somebody would call on them to commit a traitorous armed coup. The opposition continues to give us clues of being treasonous and working for Vesvai’s enemies outside. We suspect a foreign conspiracy against Vesvai to destabilize a nation that is a proud member of ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth. God Bless Our Queen Diana Wolff!”

The government has enacted another curfew but a state of emergency has not been declared. Officials and authorities around the nation say that Vesvai should stabilize and get back to daily life soon enough. No consistent state of emergency is presently necessary because the police is appropriately handling the situation.

NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

Vesvai’s Silenced Opposition Speaks Out On Their Controversial Call For A Military Coup

The situation in the neighboring and rising authoritarian nation of Vesvai is complicated. The police and even elements of the military have engaged in a crackdown and mass detainment of political and civil opposition through old-fashioned political repressions. These mass arrests have been ongoing all over the nation and Vesvai’s VHU-led authoritarian government said it would appeal to foreign governments to extradite Vesvai’s citizens from abroad back home where they would be arrested and tried. The main focus of this entire mess has been the controversial calls by Vesvai’s opposition both political and civil for a military coup. The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces were asked to overthrow the ruling VHU-led government. The military denounced these calls and expressed support for the government. The military is said to even be helping the police out around the nation in mass arrests and political repressions. The military shares the government’s rhetoric that proponents of a coup are extremists and criminals that should be tried and incarcerated, their diplomatic immunity removed and political careers put on a high hiatus softly speaking. Maybe their political and social careers may even be put on a chopping block.

A large part of Vesvai’s political opposition is the AIT opposition coalition which is actually a ruling coalition here in New Vesvai with a parliamentary majority. AIT coalition has obviously broken up in two and is active in two countries. AIT has now become international with branches in two neighboring states. In New Vesvai AIT is the government but in Vesvai it’s the opposition. In fact the opposition in New Vesvai has put it into question on whether it is safe to have a branch of the AIT coalition as a political force from another nation have its branch govern New Vesvai. On the other officials from the VHU-led government criticized allowing the AIT coalition operate in Vesvai as political opposition because it could be used as a proxy of New Vesvai and at a larger extent a proxy of Sunrisia.

New Vesvai’s media has been able to contact via phone and video calls those members of the opposition that are now abroad either in Western Corentia, Western Ventismar or elsewhere outside Vesvai, ROVAA or the Rhodeve Commonwealth. They are aware of the risk of still being deported back to Vesvai from certain parts of the world cooperative with Vesvai, ROVAA or the Rhodeve Commonwealth as extradition to face “fair” trial and incarceration. Interestingly enough these opposition activists who are politicians and social activists do not deny that they actually called for a military coup. It was not really a misunderstanding. One opposition politician said the following in his video chat with New Vesvai’s media.

”Yes we indeed are jumping towards desperate measures and we don’t regret our calls for a military coup one bit. The elections are a joke and have become a theater play to justify the VHU’s grip over power. The Supreme Court is full of corrupt sellouts that are owned by the politicians from the ruling party. We don’t have an independent court system. It is ridiculous to listen to our news media and to international sources actually talking about the Supreme Court’s ruling of the general election as fair and not fraudulent. But then again the international sources quoting the Supreme Court are from nations that are allies of the VHU-led government. No surprise there. The anti-protest law is still in place and its terms are getting harsher every month. So of course the option of street demonstrations is unavailable. We were naïve to appeal to the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces to be on the side of the people. We forgot that they are part of the regime and the entire state apparatus. They are purposefully getting unfairly increasing salaries from the government and that explains rising taxes for us. The actual military on the side of Vesvaians is the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army but unfortunately it is unavailable to us. VRA only functions as the military of New Vesvai which is its own country now. But it was a worthy try to see if RVSF still had patriots and not regime sellouts in their ranks. There is such a thing as a change of heart but apparently not with these government guardians.”

Prime Minister Kai Placore has offered sanctuary in New Vesvai for politically-repressed. The Parliament would still have to formally approve the PM’s offer but it appears that compassion will win this case.

Vengance for Vesvai

National Council speaks out in support of Vesvai’s Goverment

Today At the beginning of the afternoon political programming block the members of the national council and the prime minister Jukka Sipilä gave their responses to the appalling events that have transpired within the nation of Vesvai. During the interview, Jukka Sipilä gave the following statement that "Such behavior is borderline illegal by this sham group of terrorists, And I for one will not allow this heinous crime to go unanswered for. I give my full support to the current government who are under siege by extremists. On behalf of the whole of Calva, I would like to extend a hand to the government and offer the help of our fine army and police to help quell this problematic and undiplomatic coup attempt". Later in the afternoon, the National Council passed a bill banning the dissidents from Vesvai from entering Calva along with the adding of the coup sympathizer Kai Placore..

Sunrisian Delegation Preparing To Head Out To MDAA–Daredland Summit In Conordo, Edereon

Image

Image

Sunrisia will be sending a large delegation to the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon. By comparison, this delegation would be larger than the one in the previous MDAA summit that took place in Celstead, The Seven United. The current delegation will be traditionally led by Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta, who will this time be accompanied by new Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, new Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá and some Members of the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic.

In the near future new Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá and new Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér are set to separately visit Creperia and Edereon on individual state visits. Possibly The Seven United, Daredland, Smoya, New Vesvai, South Baggnagia and VU states would be next on the list for the two officials. Media Representative for the Administration and Cabinet of the President Agénâ Rûmár said that the Sâlúbĕr administration may need to discuss the situation in Eikangaard with VU states and specifically address Capsland’s concern over recent unscheduled military training exercises between Sunrisia and South Baggnagia.

In Conordo, the national flags of 4 member states – Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia, 1 associate state – Smoya, and one partner state and the other side of the bilateral summit – Daredland, are already on display and flying in alphabetical order. The Sunrisian side proposed that all flags remain on display, even if representatives not from all countries would be able to attend. Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta told journalists that an important document is set to be signed at the summit and goes in accordance with the provisions of the framework created by the MDAA–Daredland Action Plan.

In other news:

  • Sunrisian Air Force and Sunrisian Naval Forces beef up presence in eastern Daredland for the duration of the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon by permission from Daredi government.

  • Department of International Relations reaffirms that individual sanctions against the government of Vesvai and those associated with it, remain in place and will not be lifted for the foreseeable future.

  • Members of the Convet from the opposition parties suggest that Sunrisia should lobby a reconsideration of the SOWEFTA–Vesvai Strategic Economic Cooperation Agreement over political repressions in Vesvai. Others say that calls for a coup are inappropriate, even in countries that are not friends to Sunrisia.

MDAA–Daredland summit about to begin, delegates of the Daredi Confederation travel to neighboring Edereon

Image

The Daredi government has prepared a delegation of representatives to attend the historical and long-awaited MDAA–Daredland summit in the neighboring nation of Edereon. The neighbor to the west Edereon is one of two MDAA member states bordering Daredland with the other being Damsmar. Conordo is the capital of Edereon and will serve as the hosting ground for the summit for which Daredland has been advocating and asking for from MDAA. The delegation from Daredland will include: Confederal Chancellor of the Daredi Confederation Eelco Lechner, Confederal Minister of MDAA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Günter Heilig, Confederal Minister of Defense and Protection of the Daredi Confederation Axel Norge and Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation Friedrich Heuvel.

The Daredi officials are set to head out to Edereon shortly. President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan confirmed that the Daredi government has allowed Sunrisia to temporarily increase military presence in Daredland’s East. It would last while the summit is going on and then be pulled back after the gathering is done. That increased military presence is air forces and the navy, situated right next to the self-declared Weniges Reich. Allied jets are patrolling the airspace next to the Weniges Reich and the navy has ships stationed in Daredland’s northern ports. The navy of Sunrisia is also guarding the strait between Daredland and Edereon which keeps the Confederation physically connected to MDAA members.

President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan said he hopes the MDAA–Daredland summit in Edereon will be a milestone where a historic treaty would be signed. It would all be according to the MDAA–Daredland Action Plan agreed on long ago and overseen by the MDAA–Daredland Commission. As the summit is about to begin large crowds of people in various cities around the Daredi Confederation are gathering with Daredi and MDAA flags in the streets. They are there to watch the broadcast of the summit or some of its parts on large screens.

Edereon welcoming foreign delegations arriving for the MDAA–Daredland summit hosted in Conordo

The government of Edereon is busy with fulfilling the role of a host for the biggest international event in capital Conordo in a while. The event is obviously the MDAA–Daredland summit. Edereon placed a bit on hosting this summit after the last internal MDAA summit was held in Celstead in the Seven United. Edereon placed a bit on being the host not only because it seem like it was natural for the Kingdom to be next in line. The MDAA–Daredland summit was also a convenient location for the nation in focus at this summit which is Daredland. Another interest is the humanitarian and national security interest for Edereon to have Daredland as a safe, stable and prospering neighbor which will be achieved through integration with MDAA. Finally a lot of Daredi immigrants, expats and refugees in Edereon have acquired Ederi citizenships so with the Daredi minority and Diaspora growing, they have now become voters in Edereon. That is also an influential factor for Ederi government officials to fulfil promises and protect interests of those elected.

Prime Minister Céc Mustigañ is on duty waiting to welcome every limo transporting the leaders of nations attending the summit. PM would be personally greeting every delegation and giving them a slight tour. If everything goes according to plan then the Prime Minister is expected to welcome five foreign delegations. On behalf of Edereon the summit will be attended by PM Céc Mustigañ, Minister of State for Defense Fída Pãtriclér and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sõli Témpesér. His Highness King Glac Crustal IV will also want to meet the foreign guests in a different setting after the summit and political affairs are over. Her Majesty the Queen would not be able to accompany her husband due to her pregnancy. The representation of the Royal Family in daily life in Edereon now fully rest on the shoulders of the King for the time being.

Grunge Leading The Musical Mainstream Again

Image

Grunge is becoming the leading genre in the musical in the mainstream in Sunrisia once more. Old bands are releasing new material one after another and new bands in the genre are also popping up out of nowhere. Grunge has never left the mainstream, however, it had to share a place in the spotlight alongside other styles of music that have been outrivaling grunge. Those styles were either completely different genres or other sub-genres that shared common routes with grunge, but were still in a different category officially. Before the current “Grunge Resurgence”, as it has already been dubbed, rock, nu metal, synthwave and trance have been hogging the spotlight, while grunge was competing at the sidelines, while never leaving public attention. However, it appears that grunge will now be the leader once more, while other genres will have to stand in line.

The “Grunge Resurgence” comes after a brief period in the Sunrisian musical scene, where experimental music saw brief leadership and had the spotlight taken away from the traditional, aforementioned leading genres. Throughout all these chapters in Sunrisian music history, including the current one of the “Grunge Resurgence”, pop music still remains at the bottom or the underground. The overwhelming majority of pop music in Sunrisia is “import”, a.k.a songs from artists from abroad. The few Sunrisian artists in the pop scene try to mimic the sound from 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the early 2000’s, without venturing beyond. With “Grunge Resurgence”, it was speculated that Sunrisia might send a grunge act to represent the country in the Sunalayavision Song Contest this year and there were later some confirmations that it was indeed considered. Nevertheless, in the end, it was decided that a different performer would represent Sunrisia with the singer Aglomera having that honor.

We are personally excited to see what the “Grunge Resurgence” has in store for us, what comebacks and what new acts will come to the forefront in this era. Might it even transition into an international trend or should we, as an isolationist country, not even ask that last question because we don’t care? Well, we’ll see. This has been the news section on our channel and now back to the music videos.

Vesvai Thanks Calva While Discussions Are Coming Up About Vesvai’s Opposition’s Links To Foreign Enemy States

Vesvai’s VHU-led government started the day out by thanking the government of Calva for its expression of solidarity with Vesvai. Calva appropriately reacted to Vesvai’s actions of quashing extremism and arresting proponents of a military coup from the political and civil opposition in Vesvai. We remind that we are referring to the event where politicians from the AIT opposition coalition, other parties and members of civil opposition from various NGOs called on the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces to overthrow the government. RVSF acted appropriately and patriotically by rejecting these calls, expressing support to the legal government, declaring the proponents of a coup criminals and even helping the police around the nation to crackdown on them. The mass arrests were backed up by law prohibiting calls for armed overthrow of governments and disputing results of democratic elections. The police and military acted in defense of the constitution. Aurisi became the epicenter for the crackdown but soon the arrest of extremists spread out across the nation.

Today the sessions at the Parliament are once again being attended only by VHU party MPs. Other political parties are absent. At an early morning session Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal thanked Prime Minister Jukka Sipilä and the National Council of Calva for the position supporting constitutional order in Vesvai against extremism. Calva imposed restrictions by banning Vesvaian dissidents and coup plotters from entering Calva. In fact Calva even went a step further than Vesvai did by targeting the government officials of New Vesvai with sanctions including New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Kai Placore. New Vesvai is unsurprisingly sympathetic towards all those supporting destabilization in Vesvai. The ruling VHU party suggests that Vesvai should take an example from Calva and target the government of New Vesvai with sanctions instead of being soft for the sake of peace on the island. But no official resolution to sanction New Vesvai’s government has been put forth yet. It was only a declaration and a proposal from some MPs.

PM Jonathan Mollisal thanked Calva in a speech and responded to some proposals from the Calvan government: “We thank Calva for a correct position and support of constitutional order in Vesvai. Nations should be united against supporters of unrest, coups and other chaos. Extremism and terrorism should equally have no place to calmly exist. Calvan counterparts offered us the help of its own police and military to quell the coup attempt. I would like to clarify that thanks to the swift reaction of our police and patriotism of our military the coup never began. There were only calls for a coup and according to law it was already appropriate to arrest its proponents in advance, raid their homes and ask for their extradition from other nations. Authorities in Vesvai will finish the crackdown nationwide with our own resources but we thank the Calvan offer. We also think that the geographical distance between our nations would make it unrealistic for Calvan police or military to get over here even if did accept the offer for help. Let me just assure my colleague PM Jukka Sipilä, ROVAA, the Rhodeve Commonwealth and the people of Vesvai that extremists will be in a jail cell and before the court.”

The reaction of Calva was adequate and friendly to Vesvai which cannot be said for New Vesvai and Sunrisia. Both these nations referred to Vesvai’s defense of constitutional order as political repressions. Sunrisian Department of International Relations said that Sunrisia would continue sanctions against the government of Vesvai and would ask that SOWEFTA trade bloc review the Strategic Economic Cooperation Agreement that Vesvai has with the bloc. New Vesvai offered for itself to become a safe haven for the plotters of a coup in Vesvai and other organizers of instability in Vesvai. This raises questions how much is Vesvai’s opposition actually dependent on or backed by Sunrisia and New Vesvai? The theory of Vesvai’s political opposition being a proxy of New Vesvai almost has not doubts because the AIT coalition is leading New Vesvai’s government. In Vesvai AIT is leading the political opposition although the coalition formally declared itself to be split. Formally AIT in Vesvai and in New Vesvai are no longer linked. But it is doubtful how much of that can be believed.

The important factor here is that New Vesvai has agreed to harbor proponents of instability in Vesvai and become a sanctuary to Vesvai’s internal enemies. An opposition politician from Vesvai hiding abroad has contacted New Vesvai’s media and openly admitted calls for a military coup. The footage of the interview could be used as evidence against him and many members of the opposition in court in case of their arrest. The exact quote of the opposition politician was: ”Yes we indeed are jumping towards desperate measures and we don’t regret our calls for a military coup one bit.” This admission of guilt and evil intentions against the nation of Vesvai might not need further comment. The General Prosecutor will already be taking a look at this for the purpose of opening a legal case.

Vesvai Will Still Participate In The Sunalayavision Song Contest Despite New Vesvai’s Entry

Vesvai’s Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture has confirmed that Vesvai would still be participating in the Sunalayavision Song Contest even if the enemies of Vesvai, ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth such as New Vesvai and Sunrisia will participate. An audition concert was held that was broadcast on all major television network and on the internet. Viewers from around the nation had the ability to vote for which artist would represent the nation this year. Last time Vesvai was represented at Sunalayavision by Aculeus but the traitorous sell-out musician emigrated to New Vesvai for political reasons. The candidates for representation of New Vesvai in Sunalayavision performed with the song which they would perform at the contest. After the concert the voters chose the band Marchers To The Frontline with the song “Use Somebody” to go to Sunalayavision to represent Vesvai. The members of the Marchers To The Frontline are originally from Princeville but the band is now based in national capital Aurisi.

Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture says that Marchers To The Frontline would focus on music and not politics at the contest. And yet the band will attempt to avoid the representatives of New Vesvai and Sunrisia behind the scenes at the contest to show that Vesvai views these nations as enemies. Members of the band confirmed their patriotic position on social media and their personal choice not to interact with the New Vesvaians and Sunrisians at the contest. But now the band’s attention is on rehearsal and upcoming journey abroad where Sunalayavision would take place.

Vesvai Does Not Speak For Us

In a recent interview with Representative Georgian Kay, one of the representatives for Rhodevus in the Rhodeve Commonwealth, it was noted that some do not take kindly to the Vesvaian administration’s many claims during the Vesvai-New Vesvai disputes. While it cannot be confirmed that most Rhodeve representatives agree or disagree with Representative Kay, he did say that there are other representatives from other countries who do agree with him. No other names were mentioned when asked.

Among the most prominent claims spouted by the Vesvaian administration, is that Vesvai is the defender of the ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth from Corentian forces. “The Rhodeve Commonwealth has three member states in Corentia. One of them being an economic leader in the automotive and transport industries. Vesvai may be the entrance to Dogmana, but it’s main defender it is not.”

With the situation between Vesvai and New Vesvai growing, Kay does not believe that Vesvai would be able to defend the continent, considering it cannot even defend itself.

Another large concern, is the ability of the Vesvaian administration to link the ROVAA and the Commonwealth. While both share some members, they are two completely separate entities. The Rhodeve Commonwealth is an organization that links nations which share historical ties to the Rhodeve Empire. The Commonwealth is an economic and defense organization with a military that can only be activated in defense of its members. Never offense. The ROVAA; the acronym for the Rhodevus-Oblaren-Vesvai-Aznazia-Alliance, is a dogmanan defense pact to ensure that if an outside force attacks or invades any nation of Dogmana, all will help. Again, this is a defense alliance.

“What truly annoys me and can taint the names of both groups, is {the Vesvaian Administration’s] tendency to label other nations as ‘enemies’ of ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth. ROVAA and the Commonwealth do not have enemies. Particular countries may be enemies of nations in either organization, but never of the organization as a whole.” Kay commented. “Vesvai’s comments are actually hurting both organizations’ ability to function.”

When asked about the Vesvai-New Vesvai situation, Representative Kay said, “Vesvai’s policies and constant speeches against ‘The Enemy’, is not helping in the situation. The wall being built is as much their fault as New Vesvai’s. What would probably be best for that country is to hold mid-term election which are overviewed by a tertiary power to ensure that no funny business is going on. Then, open discussions between Vesvai and New Vesvai should commence. Discussions that are not backed or funded by Sunrisia and the MDAA, nor Rhodevus and the Commonwealth. Let that nation figure itself out. Even better would be for Sunrisia to stop backing New Vesvai and Rhodevus to stop backing Vesvai.”

Representative Kay has been one of the few Rhodeve representatives in favour of removing Vesvai from the Rhodeve Commonwealth, or putting their membership on hold until their problems with New Vesvai are concluded. “Vesvai has not been a stable member, and one of the primary steps to joining the Commonwealth is to have a stable government in place. Let them sort themselves out and reapply for admission.”

Discussing the recent attempt at a coup in Vesvai: "Coup attempts don't just come out of nowhere. It means something is fundamentally wrong with Vesvai's government. If Vesvai and New Vesvai go to war, it is obvious which side will win. Vesvai can't even get the support of it's own people and government officials behind it."

While Representative Georgian Kay’s words are just the words of a single representative, it is clear that not all in the Commonwealth support Vesvai and it’s administration’s actions.

When asked for final thoughts, Kay commented, “I just hope that Vesvai’s government stops painting ROVAA and the Commonwealth in the same light and as enemies of the MDAA and Sunrisia. Vesvai is trying to start a Cold War between organizations which have completely separate functions. And functions which are nothing like Vesvai is describing.”

With that being said, Rhodevus’s official stance is still in support of Vesvai.

Daredland Becomes Second Associate State Of MDAA

Image

Breakthrough has been reached and history made at the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon. Daredland has signed an association agreement with MDAA, officially becoming the second associate state of the alliance. The other associate state and the first to become such, was Smoya, the delegation from which has also been present at the summit. The association agreement was the primary intention of the summit and has been the next big step in the integration process under the MDAA – Daredland Action Plan. At their last meeting, where the organization of the summit was originally discussed, the MDAA–Daredland Commission had agreed that the time for association was finally appropriate.

The status of an associate state promotes Daredland from simply being an external partner state of MDAA, but does not yet make the country a full member. Prior to achieving this new status, Daredland held an observer status in MDAA and participated in security cooperation and global humanitarian efforts with the alliance. On the side, Daredland has also shared and continues to share a personal and close military alliance with Sunrisia, which especially expanded after Daredland’s Flaming Revolution. The earlier steps of Daredland’s cooperation with MDAA were later followed up by the MDAA–Daredland Action Plan mapping out the integration framework and also with the newly-created Intensified Dialogue program specifically created for Daredland as an aspirant country and also a program that might potentially be applied for future aspirants as part of the integration framework. To sum it all up, Daredland has been active in pursuing MDAA integration and the milestone was finally reached with all the effort. The work has paid off.

On Sunrisian behalf, the association agreement between MDAA and Daredland received the signatures of Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta and Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér. To complete Sunrisia’s part of the ratification of the agreement, the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic will have to ratify it and President Válîd Sâlúbĕr will have to sign off on it.

Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta later gave the following statement:

I would like to congratulate the people of Daredland with their success. They have made a choice in civilization and a choice in favor of liberty over autocracy or remaining an imperial possession that Neu-Steinland was. Let this achievement not be underestimated. Today, Daredland has achieved the maximum level of integration they could, while the country still continues to face its’ territorial problems on the Weniges and Hasperan fronts. We hope for the people of Daredland and their future that these problems would eventually be resolved. Unsettled territorial issues and lack of control over all of its’ official borders keep Daredland from full membership in MDAA, but since today, the country has its’ foot at the door of the alliance’s home and is scratching the surface of full membership. Should such a day come when the Confederation once again becomes reunited, forcefully detached lands de-occupied and foreign invaders driven out, Daredland will have a free choice of whether to stay an associate state like Smoya has chosen or whether to join fully. Congratulations to our Daredi friends on their progress and we believe that this is a new chapter for the country in its’ history, a chapter brought about by the people’s Flaming Revolution.

Daredland granted associate status in MDAA, the nation reacts

Image
Fireworks display over Moygon, Daredland in celebration of an Association with MDAA.

Daredland is half-way to MDAA membership. At the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo the delegation of the Daredi Confederation has signed an association agreement with the military bloc. This makes Daredland a second associate state or even associate member of MDAA next to Smoya. The delegates of the Daredi Confederation: Confederal Chancellor of the Daredi Confederation Eelco Lechner, Confederal Minister of MDAA Accession of the Daredi Confederation Günter Heilig and Confederal Minister of Defense and Protection of the Daredi Confederation Axel Norge signed the association document. Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation Friedrich Heuvel was there at the summit as the head of Daredi diplomacy but was not required to sign the agreement because of his lack of relation to military and security issues. When the summit concludes the Daredi delegation will bring back home the document of the association agreement itself and the flag of MDAA. The symbol of MDAA will from now on be in use by the Confederal Ministry of Defense and Protection, the Confederal Ministry of MDAA Accession and by the Daredi Konfoderaleswehr since Daredland is now an associate state.

Flag of MDAA military bloc. Now to be used by the Confederal
Ministry of Defense and Protection of Daredland, the Confederal
Ministry of MDAA Accession of Daredland and the Daredi
Konfoderaleswehr. Also to be at display at government
buildings and institutions related to military, defense and
national security.

Back at home in Daredland President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan has congratulated the Confederal Cabinet with the achievement of an Association with MDAA and then went to both chambers of the United Confederal Assembly. At the lower house National Council first and at the Council of States later the President in advance asked that the deputies be ready to ratify the association agreement. Potesinan committed there on the spot that he would sign it as well to solidify the document. All these formalities would allow for it to go into the law of the Daredi Confederation.

On the streets and at home of cities around the Daredi Confederation the people are rejoicing. Freihat, Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt, Aquildorf and all others are celebrating. They have been observing the live broadcast of the summit from the beginning and have now witnessed the anticipated finale. Even the soldiers of the Daredi Konfoderaleswehr stationed at the demarcation line with the Weniges Reich have cheered on the Association with MDAA. Civil activists and members of the youth groups have asked the public to stop using #PiefkeRaus to avoid division in the nation during this celebratory. The pro-Western Corentian Daredi nationalists were asked to not provoke the pan-Germanists and the pan-Germanists were asked not to cause public disturbances. And yet the law enforcement remains on the lookout. Some of the more radical politicians in the Daredi government say that the pro-Englean Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD) party might try to lead demonstrations on the street against the Association with MDAA but the are skeptics who say that neither LGD nor pan-Germanist groups would be able to gather enough supporters. At this moment anti-MDAA demonstrations would especially be difficult when the streets are filled with celebrators of an Association with MDAA. Strangely enough rejoicing over the Association with MDAA was happening even on the streets of the self-proclaimed Hasperan Republic. Unlike all other public gatherings these were not immediately dispersed like all the other ones and allowed to go on for a little longer. But because those on the street were waving the flags of the Daredi Confederation and not the Hasperan Republic the separatist ‘law enforcement’ soon broke up the public gatherings.

Obviously opposition Party for Central Approach (PCA) in the National Council still found a way how to undermine the governing coalition’s and the government’s achievement in the field of MDAA integration of Daredland:

“The Association with MDAA is all fine and dandy but the government shouldn’t be riding the wave of this achievement all the way throughout the rest of their mandate. Until Daredland realistically joins MDAA as a full member our party doesn’t think that the achievement of this new status should be exaggerated.” – Fuglencio Brunner (PCA), Member of the National Council of the Daredi Confederation

Opponents criticized the statement of the PCA party as ‘populist’ while the party continues to receive criticism for always being undecided and balancing between whatever public opinion is popular at the time. That is without even mentioning the party’s role in the events that led to the Flaming Revolution. Another opposition party the Social Liberal Party (SLP) had a statement of its own to make but by its representatives at the Council of States.

“Okay so now that we are technically in MDAA already even if it’s just an Association does that mean that we can finally start normalizing the broken relations we have? Our party can understand the tough attitude when Daredland was still balancing between two worlds and hanging in-between. But now that we are clearly in one of the blocs now can we start focusing our energy on bridging the gaps and building bridges? Does Daredland’s Association with MDAA and the goal to join fully mean that we are going to mimic some of the hermit members with their seclusion and their solitude? Or will Daredland be more like Damsmar and one of those interactive parts of the bloc? Our party proposes the latter. Can we finally launch the process of normalizing relations with the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg, with Rhodevus and recognizing ITB as a sovereign nation?” – Tobias Schuster (SLP), Member of the Council of States of the Daredi Confederation

The statements by the SLP party are receiving an angrier public outcry than that of fellow opposition PCA. If PCA was only accused of populism then SLP is being outright accused of being a foreign agent party receiving money from other nations to lobby their interests.

Clîpăs Dépúlsên To Become National Defense Consultant (NDC) Of The Sunrisian Second Republic: Department Of International Relations Creates New Special Envoy Position To Deal With Adversaries

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr will be signing into law the MDAA–Daredland Association Agreement after the turn comes for the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic to ratify the treaty in the aftermath of the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon. Meanwhile, the President has been occupied with other tasks such as choosing a new aide and somebody to accompany the commander-in-chief in the National Defense Council meetings. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has chosen Clîpăs Dépúlsên for the position of the Associate of the President for National Defense Affairs, Issues and Questions (APNDAIQ), also known as the National Defense Consultant (NDC) of the Sunrisian Second Republic, or simply the National Defense Consultant (NDC). According to the current protocol, Mr. Dépúlsên would have to attend hearings at the Convet to receive confirmation from the Members of the Convet and thus enter the office position.

Another latest addition to the government is a new Special Envoy position created by the Department of International Relations of the Sunrisian Second Republic. The Department has created the position of Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE) of Sunrisia. The new Special Envoy, as the name of the position suggests, would be dealing with adversaries, with the diplomats refraining from using the term “enemies” as “too harsh.” EAE would be an accompanying envoy position to the existing Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) of Sunrisia, a position currently held by Anît Iûnctén. Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá appointed Avér Inîmīcâ as Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE), whose candidacy was also approved by President Válîd Sâlúbĕr afterwards. Like Mr. Dépúlsên, the new diplomatic envoy would have to attend confirmation hearings at the Convet to enter the position.

In other news:

  • Sunrisian Air Force and Sunrisian Naval Forces pulling back from eastern Daredland as the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon moves towards conclusion.

  • Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér at the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon: “We need new, larger MDAA military exercises to be held soon. If the greater number of soldiers participating means that we would have to notify the globalist organization USA, well, then so be it.

  • President Válîd Sâlúbĕr invites President Franz Potesinan of Daredland to Orentan, wishing to present him with an award for contributions to Daredland, liberty and democracy.

King Glac Crustal IV invites foreign delegates to post-summit dinner

His Highness King Glac Crustal IV has personally congratulated the nation of Daredland on achieving the status of the Associate State of MDAA. The congratulations were on the behalf of the Royal Family. This status is borderline and just one step away from being a Full Member of MDAA. Daredland’s full membership in the Alliance is prevented by its unresolved territorial problems in the Hasperan Republic and the Weniges Reich. But that is not an issue right now and the new achievement made by Daredland at the summit is already a matter of celebration. The Ederi King addressed the people of Daredland in a video message and also spoke to Daredi economic immigrants and refugees from the Hasperan Republic living in Edereon. His Highness said that once the honorary summit is done, all procedures finished and press conferences concluded, the delegates of Sunrisia, Daredland, Damsmar, Creperia and Smoya are invited to have dinner with the Royal Family. King Glac Crustal IV also invited the local Ederi officials to attend as appreciation and congratulations for their work in hosting the summit. Prime Minister Céc Mustigañ, Minister of State for Defense Fída Pãtriclér and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sõli Témpesér have also been invited to join the foreign delegates in the dinner with the Royal Family.

Is The Second Sunalayan Cold War Happening? A Look At The Boiling Pot In Corentia And Other Geopolitical Divisions Around The World

Alliances in Corentia

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Good evening, my name is Mádâr Cónlâc and welcome to the program. This evening, we’ll be doing a rare round-table discussion with our guests at the studio, because we feel like some things need to be put on the table, no pun-intended.

Historians and political analysts in Sunrisia, a nation of solitude, have come together to do quite the opposite to the normal characteristics of our seclusion and pay greater attention to the larger world around us than we normally do. They have come together for a rare analysis and a rare look at what is happening in the world and how to label the current geopolitical situation not only in Corentia, but also the planet. Despite Corentia definitely being the most “eventful” part of the world recently, the geopolitical split is exceeding elsewhere. Internal divisions happen on other continents and rifts develop between separate continents along with other parts of the world. Different civilizations on Sunalaya draw and determine their borders. More alliances and international organizations have been popping up, new values and ideologies are forming. A flare-up happens when those boundaries between the different worlds begin to fluctuate and shift. Apparently, there is also a growing struggle between pro-globalist and anti-globalist camps, where countries would sometimes choose a side between both or stay neutral.

Analysts in the political field and historians are now raising the question if the current geopolitical situation in Sunalaya could be labeled as – the Second Sunalayan Cold War or if there is some new geopolitical tension at play here, such as – “The Great Rift”, “The Great Shattering”, “The Great Fragmentation” or some other term being thrown around. It is definitely no longer just West vs. East, North vs. South, like it used to be in the previous global struggle on Sunalaya. My dear guests, good evening to you all and I now transfer the word to you. How would you define what’s happening today?

Erád Adâgnít (Historian, Political Analyst):Thank you, Mádâr. I would suggest that there are traits of the Second Sunalayan Cold War happening at present day, it’s just that it is not really being spoken much about or pointed out a lot. However, at the same time, I also agree that it might be something different, like the terms you’ve mentioned, such as “The Great Rift”, “The Great Shattering”, “The Great Fragmentation”, etc. As cynical as it may sound, which is against our “national character” so to say, it is actually a scientifically-explainable “normal” result of the trait of tribalism, present in both animals and in humans. The extra consideration of Sunalaya’s history, especially reaffirms the fact that there is indeed a new form of geopolitical tension going on in the world right now. Historians and political scientists in Sunrisia want it to be labeled. Most likely critics would like to jump and say that there is no Second Sunalayan Cold War going on and that it’s just simply the West–East confrontation in Corentia or a proxy conflict going on between the Sunrisian Second Republic and the Englean Kaiserreich. That’s it. However, if you take a look at the bigger picture, the geopolitical tension goes beyond Corentia.

Câléra Fírmîta (Strategic Analyst):Agreed. If I may, I would like to address the situation in Corentia now, before we go on further into other areas. It is clear as day and there is no denial that an ideological rift is present inside Corentia, but our own ideology of Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance actually makes us voluntarily be cut off, in a certain way, from a lot of the world. There’s the Western Corentian sphere that is home to us and then there’s external partners around the world that we choose very selectively. We cannot operate entirely under the classical isolationist model that Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân of the Conservatives proposed, where we just close the country entirely.

Getting back to the point, specifically in Corentia, it is clear as day that there is a West–East divide. There is only a handful of countries staying neutral as it seems in this rivalry. I know that the Non-Partisan Initiative (NPI) organization headquartered here in Orentan has greatly welcomed that, because I had the pleasure of speaking to the organization’s members. The divide is definitely a result of our own ideology, but by comparison to what the Englean Kaiserreich projects, we are more in the right. I wouldn’t say that we are in need to do anything in the current situation. The support for Daredland’s liberty was a right course of action and it has just achieved us new results through a successful signing of an agreement in Conordo that made Daredland the second associate state of MDAA. They wanted to tear out of the Englean sphere of influence and prove that Neu-Steinland and being part of an empire was behind the Daredis. We have helped them at that.

Yes, it did escalate the tensions, but that is because there is a struggle going on in Corentia between good and evil, democracy against autocracy, isolationist-sovereign against imperialist. There is nothing on our behalf that we should be changing as I see it right now. Our foreign policy is just.

Fórân Dîcêrál (Political Analyst):May I have an objection please?

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Of course. Go ahead.

Fórân Dîcêrál (Political Analyst):Thank you. We must take into account that the pot in Corentia is boiling and has been boiling for a while. I am afraid that if the lid of that pot is not slightly lifted up for the steam to come out, well….it might not end well. Our diplomats went to the Englean Kaiserreich once, so maybe they should look at the option of trying that again, especially since Daredland’s road to MDAA is not sitting so well with the Kaiserreich. That’s the main point of tension, although many like to point out the eastern regions of The Seven United, where we have 4,000 combat-ready soldiers stationed, and also West Zilveren Berg, despite the fact that the young nation is a non-bloc state in its’ Basic Law, which is an equivalent to a constitution.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Don’t forget that the proclamation of statehood by West Zilveren Berg on the border with the Englean Kaiserreich was formally the reason why Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) Anît Iûnctén first went to the Englean Kaiserreich, back when he was the Director of the now-abolished Agency for Special Contacts Policy (ASCP).

Fórân Dîcêrál (Political Analyst):Right, because the tensions were so heated at that point and the newly-proclaimed West Zilveren Berg, which was our Area of Responsibility during the military operation by the 3-nation coalition against the Zilveren Dictatorship, just happened to be on the Englean border. Simultaneously, there were tensions going on between our MDAA ally The Seven United and the Englean Kaiserreich. Pre-revolution Daredland also did not have the best relations with the Engleans, though much better than what they have today. It seemed like it was all set for war on multiple fronts, so of course there was time for our envoy to go and talk to the Engleans to “lower the temperature.” That was a smart decision.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):So you think an envoy should be sent to talk with the Engleans now as well?

Fórân Dîcêrál (Political Analyst):I think it’s time. Time to lift the lid up again and let some steam come out. I support Daredland being an associate state of MDAA, but as I said, the Engleans clearly don’t like that because the Daredi Confederation and the Englean Kaiserreich used to be fraternal Germanic countries. Even one country once. They drew apart over their values and ideological beliefs, which might prove that they were not so identical to each other, but still. Ignoring the Engleans further will just make their propaganda machine keep saying that we are conspiring against them, thus consolidating the Engleans around the Kaiser even more.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Okay, so we have kind of discussed the situation in our part of the world, but if we were to get back to today’s overall topic, what would you say is happening? Second Sunalayan Cold War, “The Great Rift”, “The Great Shattering”, “The Great Fragmentation”? What is it?

Sîgīd Opínâ Vôlúntăs (Historian, Political Scientist):It’s a combination of all the classics from history of conflict. There are civilizations determining borders and drawing lines in the sand, and there is a struggle between ideologies. The West–East divide in Corentia is definitely not the only one and that is why I, as a political scientist and a historian, along with my colleagues, are suggesting that there is a new global geopolitical tension going on that we refer to as the Second Sunalayan Cold War for simplicity reasons. I think there needs to be a wider consensus on what to label this current climate as, something that one of the guests has mentioned before.

Let’s take a look at other crucial situations in our part of the world. We have the organization SOWEFTA, which stands for the Southwestern Free Trade Area or the Southwestern Free Trade Association. That already hints that we see the existence of not only a Western Corentian sphere, but also a Southwestern Bloc in the larger context of the western hemisphere. Parallel to it, there is the Northwestern Bloc made up of the Dogmanan countries. The Northwestern Bloc is kept together by such organizations as ROVAA and partially by the Commonwealth of Rhodevus, if we look at Rhodevus and Vesvai (northern one), who are both Dogmanan countries and members of both organizations. So there is a Southwest-Northwest divide. In our sphere, we also have our own security structure in a form of a military alliance and that is MDAA. Alongside SOWEFTA, it solidifies Western Corentia and counters Eastern Corentia, while also solidifying the Southwestern Bloc by countering the Northwestern Bloc. The Southwestern and Northwestern blocs each have their own clear economic and military alliances to counter each other, while Eastern Corentia, which is primarily the Englean Kaiserreich and Belantica as its’ poster nations, only currently possess a vague form of political solidarity without a platform.

However, if the West–East division in Corentia ever ends, then a greater Southwestern Bloc would be achievable in a form of a unified Corentia, not necessarily through globalist means by creating new organizations to integrate its’ countries or by creating more intergovernmental organizations here, but at least by achieving solidarity between the rivals.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Yes, you had a comment?

Léntên Sêcrátâr (Strategic Analyst, Activist):I wanted to dwell a little bit on the topic of globalism and the pro-globalist and anti-globalist struggle that you have rightfully pointed out. Ironically, the battle against globalism and multilateralism is often fought via means which have traits of globalism in them, as countries, vary of being swallowed-up by empires or attracted into pre-existing power blocs, form their own clubs to stick together against hegemony, globalism or both. I think that the Non-Partisan Initiative (NPI) was originally meant to become an international movement to create global solidarity among countries wishing not to be dragged into any pre-existing power blocs. That was largely influenced by reunified Sunrisia declaring neutrality and trying to create a club for other countries, also wishing to stay neutral. Ironically, that in itself is globalist. We never joined the USA fully and at some points in history were members of the USA Security Council until our mandate ended. We never sought to return. That was probably the most anti-globalist move we have done. But we realized that this entire “non-aligned movement” wouldn’t work, so we eventually had to just throw that idea away and initiate the formation of MDAA and SOWEFTA to keep other countries from knocking at our doors. Especially the Dogmanans, the Ophionites and certain Ventismarians.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):So would you say it worked?

Léntên Sêcrátâr (Strategic Analyst, Activist):Well, in terms of fighting globalism, we fought fire with fire and I’d say it did work. The existence of MDAA and SOWEFTA has helped us prop up our iron curtain and draw clear boundaries of a common Southwestern civilization we have built together with our immediate neighbors, except for the Commonwealth-aligned Ispanza.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):If we were to look at the bigger picture, where do you see more justifications that we are in a Second Sunalayan Cold War or another type of geopolitical tension?

Sáv Anîlátân (Political Analyst):Ventismar clearly has a West–East divide. You have the VU in Western Ventismar and you have the countries of Eastern Ventismar that are either apart, vaguely politically connected to each other like the Eastern Corentian countries, or they have tried to create their own bloc. VTO, East Ventismar Alliance. I’m not sure if those organizations are still functional or if they have progressed. Strangely enough Ophion remains quiet and without apparent inter-rivalries, but that is because Ophioneus has managed to achieve the status of the only hegemonic power there. However, that is nothing new, because the USJR and Ophioneus have held that position in the continent before. It is arguable if we can count Kiez as an Ophionite or Eastern Ventismarian country, because in that case, we could probably see a rift there as well. Other powers in Ophion have usually been in cooperation with USJR and Ophioneus, so other types of significant rifts there historically or now are not very noticeable.

Câléra Fírmîta (Strategic Analyst):Moreover, we can also observe a certain kind of trans-oceanic alliances developing, whether according to plan or naturally. Western Corentia and Western Ventismar, a.k.a VU, appear to be in a certain trans-oceanic cooperative alliance, while Eastern Corentia seems to regard the VU negatively and instead is tied to Dogmana and Eastern Ventismar, which we perceive negatively. So there is a strange criss-cross present here.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):As I said, nothing so simple anymore like West vs. East, North vs. South, right?

Câléra Fírmîta (Strategic Analyst):Exactly. But even in the First Sunalayan Cold War the lines were not entirely geographically clear. You had the North Sunartic Allied States, which I guess were more geographically specified, but you also had the Edges of Freedom Organization, which was more globally spread out, without a specific geographic concentration.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Yes, we’ve managed to stay out of both as a classically-neutral hermit, but we’re a player in this “installment” this time.

Câléra Fírmîta (Strategic Analyst):It’s a different time now and a different Sunrisia.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Okay, but what about another trait of the Cold War, which is the proxy conflicts? What’s happening in the Second Sunalayan Cold War?

Níc Lâcér (Strategic Analyst):In our part of the world Daredland and the island of Vesvai could be labeled as such, although it wouldn’t be morally correct to call them as such, because our country’s roles there were for righteous reasons. We are helping Daredland protect its’ freedom and support its’ territorial integrity, while we are defending the sovereignty of the more democratic New Vesvai from the other more increasingly autocratic Vesvai. The military alliance with New Vesvai also has the strategic value of keeping ROVAA and the Commonwealth further away from our northern shores and Vesvai (northern one) is a member of both. After colonialism that Corentia faced, which we fought back against and thus were never colonized, it should also be a strategic goal for us to keep the Dogmanan-manufactured organizations/alliances out of our continent. We don’t need to violate the sovereign choice of countries in our continent to join whichever organizations they want, but we need to promote Corentian pride without an outsider shadow as much as we can.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):What about the Zilveren Berg or, if we were to venture beyond our part of the world, the 2 Baggnagias?

Níc Lâcér (Strategic Analyst):We have ideological differences with Librira, because we are non-communist, but we are not in a hostile relationship. So the installations of different types of governments in West Zilveren Berg and East Zilverenberg are not moves aimed at each other. Those 2 Zilveren states can coexist. We have a good relationship with Amestrris, so whatever is going to happen with the southern part, should not be aimed at the other 2 Zilveren states either. I think that because the Englean Kaiserreich has a distrust towards us and the Librirans, is why they might be cautious of both West Zilveren Berg and East Zilverenberg on their border. That is where the proxy element may come in. Then again, West Zilveren Berg is a non-bloc state and we have no intention of making it our military outpost. We only have an agreement guaranteeing security to West Zilveren Berg in case of an outside attack. The individual military forces of that country are entirely for self-defense.

As for the Baggnagias, our military ally South Baggnagia is a recognized Aspirant Country for accession to the VU, but the administration of President Dobrin Nóvak seems to be off that course now and has a weird relationship with the VU. It’s like South Baggnagia is levitating all over now. But to simplify things, it could probably be agreed that South Baggnagia is in the VU’s orbit right now. As for the totalitarian North Baggnagia, it remains very mysterious. We don’t know who their allies are, if they have any links to the Eastern Ventismarians, Ophionites or anyone else. They seemed to have shared a relationship with Chemensia at one time, which is an Eastern Ventismarian country, so who knows? But there is definitely a possibility that the Baggnagian conflict might be some undercover proxy struggle there.

The really interesting situation is with Eikangaard, which has been broken up just like Baggnagia, but into 3 parts. We can see the influence of the VU and the Eastern Ventismarians, particularly Rezuans, there. So that could be perceived as another hot spot for a proxy conflict.

In Ziamban, you had Molenston and The Bohin go to war again, both also backed by foreign players from the side. So yes, there is that trait of the Cold War and it was especially present in that conflict.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):What about arguably the most important signature of the Cold War – the nuclear race?

Sáv Anîlátân (Political Analyst):Officially, no country is expanding their arsenals, because even non-members obey the USA resolutions on nuclear arms control. We know we are doing that. Out of our allies, Creperia and Edereon have decided to denuclearize completely, with Edereon making more progress because their arsenal is smaller and they never stopped denuclearization. Only after the military coup long ago there, the denuclearization process was stopped, but after MDAA reinstalled a democratic government in Edereon, they had since continued their denuclearization and are moving towards the finish line hopefully. We welcome that of course. Creperia had their nuclear program started during the Dictatorship times and re-launched its’ nuclear program at one time even under a democratic government. At one time they paused their denuclearization process, but now it continues. So there were minor setbacks, but the process keeps going.

Out of threats closer to home, the leading power in the Rhodeve Commonwealth, which is Rhodevus, has denuclearized, but its’ allies Aznazia and Rezua still have nuclear weapons, so they still have access to the weapons from their allies. The Englean Kaiserreich is in a more ambiguous situation, because we don’t know if they only possess chemical weapons, nuclear weapons or both. Out of the more distant threats, Ophioneus and Pantorrum have nuclear weapons. We have placed anti-missile defense systems in strategic locations to keep ourselves and our allies shielded from nuclear strikes and we are developing new generation anti-nuclear laser technology. So the arms race is continuing, but in a different form. It’s no longer about the quantity, but the quality of the arsenal. We are modernizing our arsenal and our adversaries are modernizing their own.

Fórân Dîcêrál (Political Analyst):If I may make a comment, Ophioneus has initiated diplomatic talks on missiles, but our side has turned down an invitation to attend the multilateral meeting and instead discussed a bilateral one. I am not going to criticize this decision, since I also think that bilateral talks would be better. I would also like to add that the USJR is gone and Ophioneus is a different country, so maybe now, we could build a partnership with them from a clean slate. Hopefully, they have now chosen a democratic path more inclined with our values. We wouldn’t know, since we have not interacted much with them.

Mádâr Cónlâc (Journalist):Well there you have it. I would like to thank all of my guests for being here this evening and for this discussion. I would also like to thank our viewers for watching the program. This has been Mádâr Cónlâc, wishing you a good and restful night.

Chief of State Fran Hapénic calls Belantica a Friend of North Baggnagia as thankfulness for cooperation

SILCENDA, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapénic has thanked the United Queendoms of Belantica for an extended hand of friendship to our nation. The Great Leader said that the United Queendoms is another nation threatened by Sunrisian demonic imperialism like the nation of Baggnagia is. The Demonic Sunrisia is occupying the southern half of Baggnagia and now crawls east towards the United Queendoms of Belantica by expanding its MDAA into East Corentia. The most recent imperial possession seized by the Sunrisian demons is Daredland.

His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapénic has excellently and logically concluded that it only makes sense for North Baggnagia and Belantica to start cooperating. After His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapénic has made the brilliant statement the officials applauded the Great Leader and the people of North Baggnagia cheered the Great Leader on. The genius judgment of the Great Leader has made His Excellency decide that it wouldn’t be strategically wise to disclose what areas are North Baggnagia and Belantica going to be working together in. All the Great Leader said was that Belantica would be giving North Baggnagia some material aid for starters. The friendly offer was extended by Belantica to North Baggnagia which His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapénic accepted to benefit the North Baggnagian people. The efforts by Sunrisian demons to isolate North Baggnagia are failing.

His Excellency Chief of State Fran Hapénic has invited Belantican United Queendoms monarch Queen Karen to Silcenda. The Great Leader wishes to award the Head of the Friendly State with the medal of a Friend of North Baggnagia.

NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

New Vesvai Suggests To Elect The Secretary General Of West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council (Council of 3)

New Vesvai, Daredland and West Zilveren Berg recently formed the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council. Shortly it is named the Council of 3. It was an idea proposed by Daredland as a political alliance of three nations with apparent similar strategic goals and in a similar situation. The creation of this political alliance was declared when the leaders of three member nations gathered in Daredland’s capital Freihat. Daredland was a nation that proposed to form this alliance so it was logical to gather in Freihat to launch the Council of 3. Invitations were extended to New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg to come to Freihat. New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Kai Placore was the representative that went to Freihat on New Vesvai’s behalf. The three gathered nations signed a treaty that created the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council or the Council of 3. It was agreed that the organization would not have a specified leader even if Daredland was the initiator. It would be rotational leadership and all members would be welcome to contribute. New Vesvai decided to use that opportunity. To finally make the Council of 3 functional and active New Vesvai has proposed to elect a Secretary General of the organization. The idea was initiated by New Vesvai’s government led by the governing AIT coalition. PM Kai Placore voiced the idea at the Parliament but in reality he was sending a message to the partners in Daredland and West Zilveren Berg:

“[I] understand that Daredland has been busy with making progress towards MDAA. They have just achieved associate state position and we congratulate them with that. Our partners are still probably celebrating and we don’t want to disrupt it for them. But we are just making propositions for the future. In order to make the Council of 3 functional it should have a Secretary General. I think New Vesvai, Daredland and West Zilveren Berg should get together once more and elect such an official who would head the Council.”

Prime Minister Kai Placore Responds To Calvan Sanctions Against New Vesvai’s Officials, Particularly Himself

Another issue that has a risen was a random interest by Calva in what has been happening on the island of Vesvai. New Vesvai’s neighbor to the north just had a series of mass arrests, raids and other action taken after the political and civil opposition there called for a military coup. Opponents of the VHU-led government in Aurisi asked the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces to overthrow the usurpator government. The RVSF ignored the calls and instead supported the government also joining the police in the crackdown. The calls for a coup alone led to a massive crackdown even if no actual coup attempt was happening. The media of New Vesvai provided a platform for dissidents from Vesvai to give their point of view. New Vesvai’s government did not support a coup attempt or an armed seizure of power but criticized Vesvai’s government for continued political repressions there. Prime Minister Kai Placore offered that New Vesvai become a sanctuary to politically repressed dissidents from Vesvai but did not personally support an armed change of power in the neighboring nation. Calva reacted in support of Vesvai’s government and offered its military and police help to quell any coup attempts if they were to happen. New Vesvai’s solidarity with Vesvai’s anti-government camp and offer of sanctuary for politically repressed was seen by Calva as a support for a coup in Vesvai. Calva imposed sanctions by prohibiting New Vesvai’s officials or at least PM Kai Placore from entering Calva. Sanctions were also imposed by Calva against Vesvai’s dissidents. PM Kai Placore responded:

“[W]e have little contact with Calva. It’s a far-away nation. I would say that there is such a thing as diplomatic immunity but then again we frequently see personal sanctions now being used against officials between nations. That’s a new trend. I was not planning on going to Calva and I don’t have stakes there so I won’t be hurt by it. You have to remember that the exact same types of sanctions were on the table at Calva’s Parliament against Daredland’s officials and that is a nation that is now our ally in the Council of 3. But that ban did not happen from what I’ve read. If I am sanctioned so be it. I know that I haven’t done anything wrong. I will not be initiating any retaliatory actions at the Parliament against the government of Calva. Of course if Calva’s government decides to target more of New Vesvai’s officials then I can’t promise that the MPs or administration members won’t be calling for retaliatory measures.”

Viceroyalty Joining the Kaiserreich and other Corentian States in New Alliance

Image
Flag of the Association of Cooperative Corentian States

Kvingandennes, Talvistova – Today it was announced that the Frasian Viceroyalty will be joining the Englean Kaiserreich in joining a new economic and military alliance, which was officially founded today in Talvistova. Meeting in the city of Kvingandennes, several Corentian nations convened to create the Association of Cooperative Corentian States (ACCS). This alliance is aimed at promoting the cooperation between Corentian nations, in both terms of defence and the economy, and to also give a voice to Corentian nations who may face possible submission by larger alliances or foreign powers. This alliance provides a new option for Corentian nations that are not interested in joining the MDAA, as the ACCS provides an alliance that is not dominated by one or two major members. Within the ACCS comes the Kvingandennes Pact, a military agreement that sees that any member attacked without provocation will be immediately assisted by one of the largest member states and/or all member states if necessary. Along with the Kvingandennes Pact comes the Free Trade Initiative, which sees a free and open trade zone and effort between members and associate members of the ACCS. The ACCS will be headquartered in Kvingandennes, Talvistova, and have minor headquarters within Center City, Belantica, and Engelberg, Englean Kaiserreich.

Englean, Frasian, and Weniges representatives were present at the founding ceremony. Count Emil von Stückow, Sigismund Westerber, and Manfred Halstenhausen signed for their respective nations and each commented that this event marked a "new, positive chapter in Corentian cooperation." Currently the members of the ACCS include:

  • United Queendoms of Belantica
  • the Englean Kaiserreich
  • the Viceroyalty of Frasia
  • The Kingdom of Talvistova
  • The Kingdom of Shastara (associate economic member)
  • The Weniges Reich (associate economic member)

The founding of the ACCS comes at a time in which Corentia is split between the powers of the MDAA and Eastern Corentia, and this association has the potential to give non-MDAA Corentian nations a voice on their continent without the fear of being strongarmed into a situation in which they do not benefit. As of today, the ACCS is accepting new members both in Corentia and abroad. More news to come.

Sunrisian And Belantic Diplomats Meet In Librira For A Lower-Rank Exchange: Reaction Given In Sunrisia To Alleged Belantic Cooperation With The North Baggnagian Regime

Sunrisian and Belantic diplomats have met in Librira for a lower-rank dialogue, which was initiated by the Belantic side. This was the very first in-person meeting between the government officials or government service members of Sunrisia and Belantica. Librira has agreed to provide its’ services as a neutral arena for the diplomatic exchange. Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) of the Sunrisian Second Republic Anît Iûnctén went to Librira to meet with Ellen Ockerman, a diplomatic representative of the United Queendoms of Belantica. Official government position or place in the hierarchy of the Belantic political elite of Ellen Ockerman is unknown. Before he departed for Librira, EAC Anît Iûnctén devoted some time to the journalists to let them know what was on the agenda at this lower-rank first Sunrisian–Belantic meeting:

Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) Anît Iûnctén:Probably the most realistic achievement that could be reached here might be the bilateral agreement to lift individual sanctions against each other’s government officials. Other issues are in question.

On our behalf, we might get the Belanticans to contact the Engleans and convince them not to display aggressive behavior and engage in provocative military maneuvers near the borders of MDAA member The Seven United, the new MDAA associate state Daredland, another MDAA associate state Smoya and also the non-aligned West Zilveren Berg, which has been through enough already and is one of the world’s youngest countries deserving peace and prosperity. Basically, have the Belanticans themselves not take the recent event of Daredland becoming a second associate state of MDAA so sensitively and also convince the Engleans to react rationally as well.

Another question that we would have, would be related to the inside situation in Belantica itself. Is the country still a constitutional monarchy or is it transforming into a classical absolute monarchy, which is basically the vintage version of modern day autocracy. Will this put human rights and civil liberties in Belantica at risk? Do our suspicions have any realistic basis for concern or are we seeing the wrong picture? Will the Belantic side prove us wrong?

Finally, we will also let the Belantic side know in advance that Sunrisia will lobby for large MDAA military exercises and war games in Western Corentia, so that there are no surprises when they happen, if they do. Just like human beings need to exercise, military alliances also need to exercise to better their combat capabilities, test out new technology and adapt to new geopolitical realities.

What we can offer to Belantica, apart from the proposition of a bilateral lifting of sanctions on each other's officials, is us talking to Daredland and asking them to consider the option of recognizing Belantica from the Island Territory of Belantica (ITB) back into a sovereign state of the United Queendoms of Belantica. We will not suggest which leadership of Belantica should the Daredis recognize or if the Belantic monarchy should be recognized as the sole leadership, because Belantica recognizes the government of Daredland as the “Occupational Government.” So Daredi perception is understandable. Only Daredland itself can truly decide when and if they will recognize Belantica from ITB back into an existing sovereign country and if they will recognize the Belantic monarchy as the sole leadership of the country.

Despite the critique or skepticism towards the current state structure of Belantica that I have mentioned before, another thing I am going to reaffirm to the Belantic envoy is that Sunrisia is not supporting any insurgent groups in Belantica that are trying to re-establish the Allied States of Belantica in the place of the United Queendoms. The Allied States cooperated with one of the sides in our country’s quasi-civil war a while back, specifically with the North. So just like those sides of the Sunrisian quasi-civil war, all of whom we hate, we want their allies and partners, including the Allied States of Belantica, to stay buried in the past and in the dark pages of history. We would not waste our time and resources to help bring back the Allied States. The USJR is gone (replaced by Ophioneus), Vekalse and Divergia are no longer the same, the Allied States are gone and it should stay that way. Even Sunrisia is no longer the same. Some countries, in their previous form, are still out there, but we will not go into that.

Journalist:Emissary, are you actually looking forward to anything in this trip?

Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) Anît Iûnctén:Well, we have not interacted with Librira much, so I am looking forward to getting a glimpse at life there and if the Librirans have managed to build some type of alternative, effective communism or “Neo-Communism” in the modern era that is different from the devastating Marxist-Leninist model. I believe it will be an interesting experience and I hope it’s going to be a lovely place. I do not have any scheduled meetings with the Libriran officials, while there.

I am just going to say that after this meeting with the Belantic envoy, the handling of this particular diplomatic front will be taken over by the newly-created office of Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE) of the Sunrisian Second Republic. The position should soon be assumed by my new colleague in the Department of International Relations – Mr. Avér Inîmīcâ, after his candidacy gets approved by the Convet at the hearings. I wish him luck.

Journalist:So it is safe to say that you will not be the one meeting the Engleans for a second time, if such an occasion were to arise, like you first did when you were the Director of the now-abolished Agency for Special Contacts Policy (ASCP)?

Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) Anît Iûnctén:That is correct.

Journalist:Emissary, thank you so much for your time and good luck.

Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) Anît Iûnctén:It was my pleasure. Thank you.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân of the Conservatives, an opposition party, has criticized this diplomatic meeting, stating that there was nothing to talk about with the Belanticans. Meanwhile, the North Baggnagian state media has reported surprising news of a bomb-shell level. The news was that North Baggnagia and Belantica have been engaged in cooperation on multiple fronts behind the curtain and will be building a partnership. According to the report from the North Baggnagian state media, Belantica has provided or would be providing North Baggnagia with material aid of unspecified nature, which Belantica offered and North Baggnagia accepted. Furthermore, again according to the North Baggnagian state media, the partnership between North Baggnagia and Belantica will be growing and developing in multiple areas, which the North Baggnagian regime is not disclosing for strategic reasons. This leaves a lot of room for speculation and raises a lot of questions. The Sunrisian government has already reacted.

Members of the Convet have taken this news without surprise and consider it logical that Belantica would support North Baggnagia against the Sunrisian-backed South Baggnagia, a country that is our ally. Because of alleged cooperation between North Baggnagia and Belantica, many Members of the Convet are suggesting not to lift individual sanctions against the government of Belantica and those associated with it, even if a Sunrisian–Belantic verbal agreement is reached in Librira about bilaterally lifting the individual sanctions against each other’s government officials. The report from the North Baggnagian state media could definitely not have come out at a better time for Belantica, ironically speaking of course.

Spokesperson for the Department of International Relations Elén Spêctrá-Fâmína issued the following statement in reaction to the report by the North Baggnagian state media and the alleged cooperation between North Baggnagia and Belantica:

On the bright side, if there is material or any kind of humanitarian aid reaching North Baggnagia, then it raises the chances that the people there, who have the regime’s foot on their throat 24/7, are not starving to death. However, in a cleptocracy/kleptocracy like the one created by the North Baggnagian regime, it is doubtful that any aid is reaching the North Baggnagian people and most likely the dictatorship is just taking everything and using it up for itself.

At this point, we don’t have the basis to trust the claims neither by the North Baggnagians nor the Belanticans. If it’s confirmed that Belantica is indeed working together with the regime in North Baggnagia, including in unspecified “strategic” areas, as the North Baggnagian Dictator Fran Hapénic has stated, then it is going to be a nail in the coffin for this attempt at a dialogue between Orentan and Center City, which not many had faith in to begin with.

Sunrisian Delegation Will Join Post-Summit Dinner With His Majesty King Glac Crustal IV Of Edereon

Image

The delegation of the Sunrisian Second Republic, which attended the MDAA–Daredland summit in Conordo, Edereon, has humbly accepted the invitation to dinner with His Majesty King Glac Crustal IV of Edereon. Sunrisian officials were honored to receive such an invitation and definitely accepted it, because it is the honor to meet the Ederi monarch and at least one member of the Royal Family. Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, and Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá would be in attendance.

Nevertheless, the summit and all follow-up proceedings should preferably be concluded soon, since the administration has new means to attend do. This morning, still in Conordo, Edereon, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér said that the Sunrisian Air Force and Naval Forces are pulling back from eastern Daredland, where the presence was increased for the duration of the summit. However, the Sunrisian Naval Forces remain on patrol at the strait between Edereon and Daredland. The active military maneuvers will not end there, because Sunrisia will be calling for new larger MDAA military exercises and war games in the region, said the Minister of Security. The statement by the Minister was later reaffirmed by Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta. Meanwhile, Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá said he would be contacting the counterparts in the foreign ministries of VU countries to discuss Eikangaard and maybe discuss the Baggnagian situation. These were the final press conferences that the Sunrisian delegates had in Edereon, before they joined the dinner with the King of Edereon and leave the country afterwards.

Back in Orentan, Sunrisia, President Válîd Sâlúbĕr spoke out for the first time in a while on the MDAA–Daredland Association Agreement and the confirmation of his new chosen additions to the administration and the cabinet:

The Convet has ratified the MDAA–Daredland Association Agreement and I have signed it. Now, the parliamentarians are occupied with confirming my new National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên and a new envoy appointed by our Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá – the Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE). Mr. Avér Inîmīcâ is the candidate for the position and I wish him success before the parliamentarians. Other than that, we await the return of our delegates from Edereon from the successful summit.

In other news:

  • Conservative Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân: “The meeting with the UQs envoy in Librira is a useless mistake and a waste of time. No sanctions should be lifted against the monarchy. The UQs political elite is simply trying to win points and relevancy along with raising its’ approval rating at home.

  • Outspoken Sunrisian nationalists debate the isolation theory on whether a country could be completely closed and secluded in the modern times.

Foreign Affairs Ministry Sates North Baggnagian Cooperation is "Very Restricted"
Yesterday, news broke in North Baggnagia that they have begun cooperation with the United Queendoms. There wasn't anything specific reported by their state news agency, and has prompted questions by people at home and abroad of what exactly "cooperation" means in this case and how the government of the UQs responded? Naturally, this has prompted concerns with the already fragile Sunrisian-Belantic relations, in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Special Envoy Ellen Ockerman met with Sunrisia's Anît Iûnctén, Emissary for Alternative Contacts to discuss matters in a short, low-ranked meeting in Librira. However, the news of NB-UQs cooperation broke after the meeting and wasn't on their agendas at that time. In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a press statement addressing specifically what this "Cooperation" entails due to Parliament and Her Majesty placing restrictions on the cooperation last night.

"When news broke that North Baggnagia in the United Queendoms are cooperating, there wasn't much disclosed by their media aside from material aide. We here today decided to clarify what exactly this aide is, and how that because of circumstances, Parliament and Her Majesty wanted to keep this very restricted until the leadership of North Baggnagia actually is true to their words and will uphold their end of this deal. To begin, the material aide the UQs will be providing them would be destined for civilian purposes and constitute food, medicine, clothing, coal for electricity, and construction materials for urban development. Furthermore, this cooperation will also intend to help North Baggnagia to develop and modernize their agriculture industry to be able to supply more, better quality produce and livestock. To those who are concerns abroad, we will make it clear that our intention is to not escalate the crisis more, or to send them military supplies, only to actually benefit the people."

Reporter: "What about the talks with Sunrisia?"

MFA Spokesperson: "As of this time, we are uncertain what their government or our Parliament will do, as they have asked about both sides removing personal sanctions on high-ranking officials, and vouching for military exercises somewhere on the mainland. All we can say is that is an issue Parliament has to handle, since they were the ones who placed them in the first place. In addition, they are willing to talk with the Daredi leadership on recognizing the UQs again, but this is no guarantee. Again, this was a small meeting between two low-ranking envoys of both governments."

After the press statement, some MPs have said either on social media or in interviews that they will advocate in the next session to remove the sanctions, but are uncertain about the opposition wanting to maintain the sanctions for longer. It is likely that the debate will be long and heated.

Ousted ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer resurfaces for the first time after disappearing, claims he was overthrown in a Sunrisian-orchestrated coup and not the Flaming Revolution by the people

Image

It’s been days since Daredland became an official Associate State of MDAA and the past is already coincidentally knocking back at the Confederation’s door. The long-gone ex-Chancellor and before that President of the State Council Friedrich Schäfer has appeared alive and well for the very first time since he disappeared shortly after his government’s toppling in the Flaming Revolution. The ex-Chancellor disappeared after authorities and prosecutors in Daredland announced that the ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer was facing corruption charges and would be investigated for it. Almost immediately after the announcement Schäfer disappeared, avoiding incarceration and prosecution. The immediate theory was that he fled abroad but other conspiracies appeared over time too.

Now he has appeared for the very first time in a video address to the citizens of Daredland from an undisclosed location but he has confirmed in the address that he is hiding abroad. The ex-Chancellor has gone into exile in an unknown nation but many immediately point at the Englean proxy Weniges Reich or the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg as his hiding spot. Schäfer himself obviously does not mention where he is. The ex-Chancellor’s full address behind a desk in front of a camera was:

“Meine Damen und Herren,

Grüß Gott. Yes it is indeed me. Alive and well for the most part. I was forced to leave Daredland out of fear for my life after the…changes that had happened there in our nation. The government led by me was overthrown in a coup orchestrated and carried out by Sunrisian intelligence agencies. They made it look like a revolution on the streets by the people. In reality Daredi people did not want this I know you didn’t. Undercover special forces agents from Sunrisia and MDAA states dressed in civilian clothing flooded the streets of Daredi cities and imitated anti-government street protests. They imitated Daredi citizens. How else would you explain such carefully crafted self-organization? That’s because professionals were at work and not the working middle class. The rest of the masses were made up of Daredi immigrants of nationals of Western Corentian states that had Daredi origin. They were brought in for money to help imitate a people’s protest. There was a small number of locals that participated in the demonstrations but those were collaborators that sold their nation for money. For the most part is foreign agents. Even if that was fact I and members of our government could not risk staying in Daredland any longer. We were going to be executed if we did. We had resign our government and leave Daredland out of fear for our lives and the lives of our families. The explanation that I fled over some mythical corruption charges to avoid prosecution was nothing but a propaganda piece against me manufactured by the Sunrisian-created junta controlling Daredland today. I earn all my money fairly.
Image
Ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer had the old flag of Daredland
next to him during his video address.

Today I come before you to not only prove that I am still alive and to confirm that I am in exile by asking for political sanctuary. Yes I’m abroad but I won’t say where for obvious reasons. I come before you to share a future vision and a plan for the salvation of Daredland. I will say right now that I will not call myself the legitimate Chancellor of Daredland. Yes we were pressured by Sunrisian agents and traitors that carried out the coup. But our government still resigned on its own so we no longer have claims towards any government position in Daredland. But even if I am no longer a Daredi politician I am still a patriot and want to help save Daredland. I’d wish to return there someday without the fear of being caught and hanged on a light pole. Until the junta has Daredland under control I will be forced to operate out of exile but I will work to save Daredland from alternative headquarters.

What needs to happen in the long-term is that the Sunrisian-controlled junta in Freihat needs to be removed indefinitely. People like Franz Potesinan, Calvin Aigner and Felix Gudatan. They were legitimate elected politicians in the government of the Daredi Confederacy. But they were bought by Sunrisia and supported the illegal coup. They then drew up a fictional constitution in a ‘referendum’ and created the Daredi Confederation while killing the legal state of the Daredi Confederacy. These national traitors now hold key positions in the new junta in Freihat. For all their crimes they should be jailed and I will not be afraid to suggest that they should be executed like criminals have been in the older stricter times. Daredland will then need to cut the cord that is forcefully draging the nation like a chain away from our Englean brothers and into MDAA and SOWEFTA. To a Western Corentian civilization that is foreign to us from a civilization that is not only brotherly to us but are the same people as us. The Germanic people.

After Daredland is saved from the junta the separation of the Weniges Reich must be acknowledged as a legit fact and Freihat must begin a direct dialogue with the Weniges leadership. Instead today’s junta in Freihat actively now ignores the Weniges leadership by calling them ‘proxies’ and insists to only talk to the Englean Kaiserreich on the Weniges affairs. When the junta is gone Daredland will do things right. After reconciliation is achieved the central Daredi government and the Weniges leadership must achieve the reintegration of a single Daredi state. Yes the Weniges Reich has lived as its own nation for a while after separating but as a Daredi patriot I must promote the idea of reintegration between Daredland and the Weniges Reich into a single state like before. Of course on equal basis and peacefully. The same must happen with the Hasperan Republic but we might have a larger problem there. We might have to be open to the idea of abandoning that territory because of how truly different it is to us true Daredis and how the Hasperans are actually more compatible with the Western Corentians than the real Daredis are. Obviously when I say real Daredis I mean Germanic Daredis. I say that the reintegration between Daredland and the Weniges Reich is much more important for the whole Germanic world and Germanic civilization in Corentia.

After Daredland is united again then must follow two foreign policy goals in no particular order. But both must be pursued from one direction or the other. Daredland must join the new organization the Association of Cooperative Corentian States (ACCS). Once Daredland is a full member of ACCS we must then initiate talks between Daredland and the Englean Kaiserreich on a state merger. Daredland and the Englean Kaiserreich must form a single Germanic nation within ACCS. Of course we can go from the opposite direction as I have already mentioned before. Daredland and the Englean Kaiserreich could initiate the talks of a state merger and creating a union state first. Once both nations become one Daredland will automatically become part of ACSS. That is Daredland’s future without question. I am sending this message to you so that you know that there is hope for us still. Stay strong and until I contact you again. Hopefully the junta will not have introduced censorship by then.

Auf Wiedersehen.”

Tao threatens ban on "Friendverse"

Tao threatens ban on "Friendverse"

The Tao is moving to ban "Friendverse", the massive worldwide Social Media website and mobile app. While the modern-day cultural impact of "Friendverse" is supposedly "well understood" by the UST government, they have put forward legislation that would render the company's product, on all devices, and in all forms, illegal. The government cites the increasing amount of "unconstitutional spying" into peoples personal lives. The Chancellor of Technology and Information had this to say:

"I am well aware of the importance of this company to the majority of the younger generations. However, we must understand that this company has been conducting unconstitutional spying into peoples lives, for the purposes of customizing advertisements to maximize the effectivity for those who pay for them. We do suspect that the data is being used for other purposes, however, the investigation is ongoing, and I the details will remain confidential for the time being.

Friendverse has also been known to have minimum security when videos are uploaded, referenced, and even advertised. This coupled with its autoplay mechanic has resulted in many Taoist artists and content creators having their copyright rights infringed upon.

Much of this is not new, and we have previously been in talks with the company to get them to fix some of these major issues, however, in the past, they have largely ignored us, and as of late, the company has only accelerated these issues in both direct and indirect ways, with little to no remorse. Therefore, after a meeting with several people in my council, along with other Chancellors, to whom these issues affect, we have decided that proposing a ban on all "Friendverse" products is the best course of action moving forward."

Friendverse seems to disagree with the decision, per a head spokesperson: "The Taoist government highly underestimates the competition we face in the Tao, and is grossly misinterpreting their own laws. We will appeal to the UST to back off of this threat, and perhaps come to a more political conclusion to the issue.

We are also highly dissatisfied that the UST is setting an absurd standard for our company, while other Social Media companies fallow the same practices and have not received any recourse from the UST."

The UST made a statement a few hours ago, suggesting that they believe other countries should follow suit and take a stand against the unlawful data gathering and copyright policies of Friendverse.

The Rhodeve based company is arguably the largest Social Networking company in Sunalaya and is definitely the largest in the UST. Our polls show that the majority of people in the demographic range of 18-30 disapprove of the way the UST is handling the issue, while those in the 30-70 age range seem to care less, and overall support the idea.

UPDATED: Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation (OAG) opens two cases against ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer – treason and an attempt at the usurpation of power, on top of the already existing corruption case against the ex-Chancellor

The recently reappeared ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer now had a second criminal case opened up against him. The Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation has opened up an investigation against the ex-Chancellor for treason which is probably the most serious crime in any nation. This adds on the top of another case that Schäfer had against him and that was corruption.

The first case for corruption was opened up shortly after the Schäfer-led government resigned in the climax of the Flaming Revolution. Suspicions of corruption against the politician and other members of the government existed back when Schäfer was still the President of the State Council of the Daredi Confederacy and continued into his succession as the Chancellor of Daredland. After the Schäfer-led government was ousted by agreeing to resign the private mansion of Schäfer caught a lot of public attention and many began questioning how the politician was able to earn so much wealth over such a short period of time. The origin of this wealth was a big secret. This encouraged the Judiciary of Daredland to open up an investigation into corruption. Schäfer disappeared soon after and was not found at home or anywhere else. Many suspect that he had fled the nation abroad and his new video announcement has him confirm it himself though he doesn’t say where he is. The case on Schäfer’s and his government’s corruption was transferred over from the Judiciary of Daredland to the Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation succeeding it. The investigation uncovered a lot of private property and finances of unexplained origin. In the video address Schäfer denies he is corrupt or that he fled the nation because the corruption case was opened against him but he would have a chance to make his case if he agreed to face trial instead of hiding.

But the focus of today’s news is the second case opened up against ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer for treason. It has come after Schäfer released his video address. Overall the ex-Chancellor is being accused of calling for a forceful change of government in Daredland, undermining the territorial integrity and statehood of Daredland, sympathizing with terrorism and aggressor states. These are but a few terms of his treason accusation. Specifically Schäfer is being accused of the following treasonous crimes against the Daredi Confederation:

1. Calls for a forceful change of government (Schäfer said that the current government of Daredland is a ‘Sunrisian-controlled junta’ and must be overthrown with time).

2. Doubting the constitutional right of Daredi citizens to a peaceful protest (The right was present in the law of the Daredi Confederacy and in the law of the Daredi Confederation Schäfer said that it was ‘special forces agents’ from Sunrisia and other MDAA members posing as Daredi citizens in ‘civilian clothing’ suggesting that the anti-government protests in Daredland were not held by the citizens of Daredland).

3. Sympathizing with terrorism (Schäfer proposed direct dialogue with the Englean-backed proxy authority created by the terrorist militia that occupied parts of Wenigberg region and formed the Weniges Reich there. Schäfer and his government are also facing charges from the past for negotiating with the Weniges militants directly and allowing for their political wing to participate in national elections of Daredland).

4. Sympathizing with aggressor states (Schäfer continues to call for an alliance and even union with the aggressor state of the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg which invaded Daredland and helped the Weniges militia detach parts of Wenigberg to form the Weniges Reich).

5. Undermining the territorial integrity of Daredland (Schäfer proposed to acknowledge the separation of the Weniges Reich. As previously mentioned the ex-Chancellor proposed to begin a direct equal basis dialogue with an Englean-backed proxy authority there created by Weniges terrorist militia that seized parts of the Wenigberg region by force and now control them. The ex-Chancellor also suggested accepting the possibility of leaving alone another secessionist entity the Hasperan Republic that broke away parts of Haspera from Daredland and keeps them under illegal control. Schäfer suggested not working on the legal reintegration of land under the control of the Hasperan Republic back into Daredland).

6. Putting the statehood of Daredland at an existential risk (Schäfer is critiquing Daredland’s course towards joining MDAA and SOWEFTA which is written in the Constitution of the Daredi Confederation as a foreign policy priority. Schäfer instead ignores this constitutional foreign policy priority and calls for Daredland to join the Association of Cooperative Corentian States (ACCS) where hostile Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg and ITB are members. But the primary accusation in this part is that the ex-Chancellor is promoting to reintegrate Daredland with the Englean-backed proto-state of the Weniges Reich and then negotiate a state merger between Daredland and the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg into a ‘union state’).

The Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation wanted to include ‘Doubting the results of a referendum’, ‘Disrespecting the Constitution’, ‘Promoting pan-Germanism’, ‘Doubting sanctity of free press’ and ‘Promoting extremism’ in the case of treason but that came into conflict with Daredland’s principle of freedom of speech. Some of these rejected parts of the treason case were too vague and not entirely backed up yet. Ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer said he would continue to keep contact with Daredi citizens and work on his ‘goals’ from abroad. Some politicians have suggested an idea that the Daredi intelligence agencies should take an interest in finding out where exactly ‘putschist’ Schäfer is hiding. But the opponents of the idea fear it might suggest that Daredland may be planning to abduct Schäfer on foreign soil and violate other nations’ borders.

The cases of treason and corruption against ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer allow Daredi authorities to detain him as soon as he appears on the territory of the Daredi Confederation. Unfortunately the exception is made to the secessionist territories of the Weniges Reich and the Hasperan Republic where local secessionist leaderships have illegally terminated Daredi jurisdiction. The government of Daredland plans to request that allied nations in MDAA detain ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer if he is spotted in their nations and extradite him back to Daredland. Schäfer would then stand trial before the Confederal Supreme Court of Daredland with a state-provided attorney.

Schäfer’s property has been confiscated by the state and assets frozen. Anti-Schäfer activists say that Schäfer should also be prosecuted for usurpation of power that his government attempted. That would make it a third case. The ex-Chancellor is already facing many years of incarceration for the treason and the corruption so a third case would nearly guarantee his incarceration for life. The Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation has not yet opened the third case for usurpation promoted by the activists or respond to the demands for such a case. Members of the ousted Schäfer-led government are also facing prosecution risks though many had made in-advance appeals for amnesty in the past.

UPDATE: It was announced an hour ago that the Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation has opened a third case against ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer and members of the government led by him that was deposed in the Flaming Revolution. By demands of the activists the Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation has opened a third case against Schäfer and his government for an attempt at the usurpation of power in Daredland.

Turbulence in the Far West, Empress Ymira Turns Twenty-Seven

Imperial Times

Blake Hadfields

In the Far West, nations such as Vesvai and Daredland continue to undergo threats of coups as well as military instability. It seems that these nations are beginning to rip themselves apart as matters of security become more and more demanding. Experts claim that the nations to blame for this occurrence are three nations: Sunrisia, Belantica, and Engleberg. To an extent, the MDAA member states are also some what to blame to Corentian woes. The military shows of force, such as military drills and so called "seawalls" are driving these nations ever closer to chillier relations. This cycle of provoking is harming other nations, smaller nations that are already struggling from some level of instability.

Parliament has once again reached out to these three nations, calling upon them to settle their differences and to stop the polarization of their neighbors in Corentia. A better solution to such poor relations would be to attempt to work together, or to at least tolerate one another so that political systems and economies can stop reeling from unknown circumstances. Most importantly, putting aside differences can help stop the isolation of citizens in various Corentian countries, as well as help close already widening gaps.

In other news, Empress Ymira celebrated her twenty-seventh birthday with her wife in Rezua. Empress Ymira took the time to follow tradition by greeting the nation on live television and giving her thanks to the people of the empire for their hard-work. Included in the address were members of the armed forces, first responders, teachers, farmers, laborers, and engineers. Many other groups and professions named. During her daily meet and greet hours, the empress was bombarded by citizens wishing her well. A wide range of delivery was given, by mouth and card, to much more unorthodox methods, such as one scene plays and dance routines. The royal couple took Princess Aria with them when they went to dinner then went to the residence of Princess Christina, where a private birthday party was held with friends.

Public enemy number one!, Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer on Calvan Boarder Authoritys All-points bullitin

Daredland's wanted and on the run ex-Chancellor put on Calvan Boarder Authoritys All-Points Bullitin of wanted fugitives.

Today after the resurfacing of the now wanted Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer, the Calvan Border Authority has issued a new All -points bulletin for the ex-Chancellor of Daredland who was indicted three days ago by his government for corruption. Today in a press conference the Director of the CBA Vasilis Marinos Kokinos gave a statement in which he said that "Today is a day that Calva will put aside its previous disagreement and hostilities with the nation of Daredland, and instead help them with the tracking down of a dangerous political fugitive who will become a beacon and a martyr to those who wish to destabilize the current democratic government of Daredland if they are not stopped."
During the lunchtime national interview which was sadly cut short by an emergency meeting the prime minister, Jukka Sipilä gave a short statement in which he briefly touched on the issue of the attempted coupe in Vesvai and went on personally thanked the government of Vesvai and their prime minister Jonathan Mollisal for being so welcoming of our support for them, The prime minister also went on to say that the council feels in these times of trouble and unrest it is best for countries to put aside their differences and join together to fight back against those who wish to destabilize legitimate governments thus why we have decided to make an effort to try and help those around us who the old regime would have ignored or outright threatened with missiles.
