Sunrisian Politicians And Former Politicians Killed In An Oculus Terrorist Attack In Edereon: Military Escalates Operation White Light

The Oculus terrorist group in Edereon has carried out its’ first large-scale terrorist attack, since its’ resurgence and this attack targeted individuals, who were citizens of Sunrisia. Unfortunately, this was the terrorist attack that the Prime Intelligence Division (PID) and Ederi intelligence community have not been able to detect on time. 4 Sunrisian fatalities are now being reported, which are – Sánît Béâtídá, the first President of the Democratic Union of Sunrisia, Sûc Médelâ, Chairman of the United Provisional Assembly and the National Integrity Council (UPANIC) in the former North Sunrisia, Aélior Válétûdâ, Chairman of the National Unanimity Coalition and the Committee of the Transitional Authority (NUCCTA) in the former South Sunrisia, and finally Sálût Gáudâr, the Prime Chairman of NUCCTA and UPANIC in reunified Democratic Union of Sunrisia. All 4 individuals were current and former politicians. The last 3 were recognized heroes of the Revolution of Rebirth and recipients of national awards, specifically the Honor of a Hero medal.

The group was on a diplomatic trip to Edereon at this time of Oculus’ resurgence. They were participating in a forum with locals at an Ederi town close to the Ocidas autonomy, where Oculus is active. Reportedly, the forum was discussing the topics of social politics, the environment, the economy and geopolitics. Although the Sunrisian embassy informed Béâtídá, Médelâ, Válétûdâ and Gáudâr about Oculus’ resurgence and the launch of Sunrisia’s Operation White Light, they did not depart Edereon. Oculus militants were said to have ambushed the building, where the forum was taking place and took Béâtídá, Médelâ, Válétûdâ, Gáudâr and the people present hostage. According to early information, Béâtídá, Médelâ, Válétûdâ and Gáudâr resisted the terrorist orders and reportedly even tried to protect the gathered people from harm, ending up getting fatally gunned down. The remaining hostages, which were local Ederis, were trapped in the building and one of the Oculus’ militants threatened to commit a suicide bombing with fellow terrorists and the hostages inside the building, Fortunately, the local Ederi police and municipality government heroically negotiated the hostages’ release in exchange for Oculus militants being allowed to escape.

Chairman of the National Unanimity Coalition and the Committee of the Transitional Authority (NUCCTA) in the former South Sunrisia. Worked on a victorious reunification referendum. Recipient of the Honor of a Hero Medal. Was shot and killed by Oculus.

Sálût Gáudâr (Deceased). Prime Chairman of the Democratic Union of Sunrisia, overseeing the leadership of both – the United Provisional Assembly and the National Integrity Council (UPANIC) and the National Unanimity Coalition and the Committee of the Transitional Authority (NUCCTA) as a single transitional government. Recipient of the Honor of a Hero Medal. Was shot and killed by Oculus.

Back in Sunrisia, the reaction was swift. Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ, who in the past worked with all 4 murdered political figures, stated that the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) would intensify Operation White Light to physically terminate Oculus, including the specific militants that committed this attack, and called upon the PID to step up and not allow any more terrorist attacks by Oculus to go unexposed before happening. The Minister publicly requested that the PID work on exposing Oculus’ presence, their bases, their strongholds, etc. More forces are being mobilized to join Operation White Light.

Creperia would begin supplying arms to Edereon to help it and Sunrisia to defeat the Oculus terrorist group that is terrorizing Eastern Edereon. The Creperian government had plans to do so after Oculus first came back to the allied country, but now that decision has been cemented after a terrorist attack in Edereon that killed Sunrisian politicians. Oculus terrorists have proved that they are serious. President Karr Gaudēl and Minister of National Defense Ress Fēlicit chaired a meeting on the matter, where a decision was made. Creperia could not ignore a deadly threat to a country that Creperia is together in MDAA alliance with. An agreement was reached on material military help. President Karr Gaudēl asked the National Assembly to give approval on armament support to Edereon which was received. That armament support would last until the uprising by Oculus terrorists is defeated in Edereon. In case it is recognized that Oculus is not stopping and advancing deeper into Edereon, Creperia would have to consider sending troops to join the fight. The alliance is focused on defending members only from outside attackers, but at times like these, help against existential threats is also considered. Minister of National Defense Ress Fēlicit confirmed that Creperia would not rule out sending troops if Oculus isn’t stopped, but the government is also confident that Sunrisian Operation White Light would crush the terrorists relatively quickly, especially after that terrorist attack.

Breaking: President Tamber Shot

This is a developing story. An unknown gunman opened fire on the president's motorcade this morning with armor-piercing rounds. While the Presidential Guard was able to ascertain the locaiton of the shooter, they were unable to intercept and detain the gunman before he escaped. The President is reported to have recieved two gunshot wounds, though their severity is unknown. Regardless, the President has been moved to Vaastergaad General for treatment under armed guard. Downtown Vaastergaad is now officially on lock-down, and citizens are barred from exiting or entering Voskabin Street where the shooting took place while the investigation is ongoing.

Opinion: Eikangaard Cannot Join the VU

Alan Mikkelson - Professor of Economics - Nentergaad University - Admittedly, this piece acts as a counter to the opinions of my esteemed colleague, Professor Anto de Wit. While making some interesting points which seem sound on the surface, they simply do not take into account the full scope of Eikangaard as a nation. The unfortunate reality is, politically speaking, the ideologies present in Eikangaard today are far removed from those of the VU member states on an individual level, and this makes Eikangaard unattractive to an economic union like the VU.

Only one of the three fragmentary states actually supports an ideology of openness, inclusiveness, and individual freedoms. And this is not simply because the other two had the strength to quash any rebel activity which sought to overthrow them or halt their revolution in its tracks. I dare say that anyone who calls the Royal Union powerful is a blithering idiot at the very least, and the EUSR would not have achieved the successes it did without some measure of public support.

This leads me to the conclusion that even if the territory of Eikangaard were to be reunified under Republican leadership, the best possible outcome for inclusoin into the VU, that it would struggle to hold on to its northernmost regions where many of Anton's vaunted resources are held. The Government in Vaastergaad would then need to be propped up, perhaps for decades, form other VU states, be it financial, military assistance, or both, to maintain stability. Further, this shaky ground would make the country unattractive to VU investors, and would also provide Eikan businesses the tools to simply leave the country for good, further weakening the country's economy.

An economic alliance like the VU's is only as strong as it's weakest member, and the inclusion of Eikangaard would only lead to the rest of the organization chafing under the pressures of propping up a state that cannot possibly hope to maintain stability on its own. The damage from decades of living under an abusively corrupt Monarchy, and the resultant civil war and ideological splits is simply too great to reverse in only a few short years.

Eikangaard, as a nation, is simply too much of a risk for the VU to take in, and likely will continue to be so for at least another decade under even the best possible circumstances. Any induction prior to that point would be foolhardy, and would only succeed in either getting Eikangaard summarily expelled from the Union, or weakening the VU as a whole.

Sunrisia Abandons Trade Promotion Agreement With Vesvai, Favoring Growing Economic Ties With New Vesvai: Trade With Vesvai Would Continue Under Effective SOWEFTA–Vesvai Strategic Economic Cooperation Agreement

Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce has announced Sunrisian withdrawal from a Trade Promotion Agreement with Vesvai. The announcement was made earlier today. The Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic is set to vote on the withdrawal from the agreement the following morning. With the agreement no longer being in effect, it means that the periodical tariff drop between Sunrisia and Vesvai would end at this point. Nevertheless, a Spokesperson for the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce said that Sunrisia does not currently intend to unilaterally raise tariffs back to their original rate, the way they were before the agreement was originally signed a while back.

However, Spokesperson for the Department of International Relations Elén Spêctrá-Fâmína later added that tariffs may start rising back to their original rate and beyond, if Vesvai makes any attempts of smuggling export of its allied countries by disguising it as Vesvaian goods, thus allowing them to go through under an existing tariff policy exclusive to Vesvai. Those speculations would not work, stated the diplomatic representative. Another reason for possible tariff rise would depend on Vesvai’s foreign policy actions and if the country becomes recognized as taking action undermining the national security of New Vesvai, Creperia or Sunrisia. The third reason for tariff rise and even sanction extention might be the behavior of the government of Vesvai within its own borders. Economic consequences might be implemented in case the leadership of Vesvai continues repressions against political opposition, civil society, smothering freedom of speech and further heading down the path of an authoritarian, militarized police state. Nevertheless, this is not the case where bilateral trade is “on its’ death bed” like in the case of another Commonwealth-aligned island country of Ispanza. With Vesvai, trade would continue through the existing SOWEFTA–Vesvai Strategic Economic Cooperation Agreement, which was signed in Creperia some time ago.

Meanwhile, with New Vesvai, the bilateral trade flow and other economic cooperation is growing in a stable manner after the 2 countries had implemented the New Vesvai–Sunrisia Enhanced Trade and Investment Agreement, which was signed by President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Prime Minister Kai Placore of New Vesvai in Orentan. The Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce stated that New Vesvai is a candidate for signing a deal with the entire SOWEFTA bloc and that the Sunrisian side has shared this proposition with Creperian and Ederi partners.

Breaking:President Tamber Dies in Hospital

Disturbing news is coming out of Vaastergaad General Hospital, as today the government has announced the passing of Republican President Lina Tamber, who succumbed to wounds inflicted by an unknown gunman two days ago. Reportedly, the president suffered a wound to the chest, which caused extensive internal hemorrhaging and caused her condition to worsen over time until she finally passed at approximately 3:30 AM this morning. Vice President Arthur Albinson announced that a state funeral will be held, but gave no concrete details but stated that his swearing in as the new president will be postponed until afterwards.

Nonetheless, the gesture of refusing the presidency until the previous is laid to rest is largely symbolic, as the Vice President will still be assuming many of the responsibilities of the President in the intervening time. It has still been received well by members of the Senate, the Presidential Cabinet, and the general public. "It's a loss for the Republic." Said Mr. Albinson. "She was a staunch supporter of our right of self-determination and the liberty of the common man. Rest assured, her legacy will live on as the First President of the Republic of Eikangaard. But for now, we must mourn her loss."

Opinion: Can We Reunify? I Think Not.

Vels Murkaad - Professor of Sociology - Nentergaad University - As we collectively chafe under the post war situation in Eikangaard, with a greatly weakened economy and borders dividing families from one another, it's easy for us to look back on the Royal Union favorably, at least when it was fully unified. I recently had the privilege of touring both the surviving lands of the Royal Union and of the newly-minted EUSR, looking into how the civil war has affected us as a people. While I initially came into the tour looking for how the naitonal split affected us culturally immediately afterwards, I came away form it realizing that, and as much as it pains me to say it, that the war was always going to happen and that it means that the dream of a united Eikangaard has died a fiery death.

But before we can understand why, we need a bit of recent history to put things into context for the uninitiated. Our problems began rapidly after the ascension of King Garnaren III to the throne in 1988. He promised major reforms to Eikangaards foreign policies and economic practices, which would, in theory at least provide the measures for growth in Eikan Businesses in order for them to remain competitive with mainland VU economies. While in the short term they did, the massive deregulation of the EIkan economy combined with increasing taxes and massive cash infusions to major businesses placed almost-cripplingly unfair burdens on the nation's middle and lower classes.

Further it liad the groundwork for companies, who otherwise received more money than they could reasonably use in the short term, to plan for the future in ways that the King could not predict. Flash-forward to the 1997 Poltical Referendum, and a mixture of socialist ideas in the blue-collar north, and republican ideas in the richer south of the country are beginning to take root, but haven't yet formed into the full powers that they are today. Nonetheless, citizens were chafing under what was an unfair tax burden on themselves. They believed the King, at the time an Absolute Monarch, favored big business over the plight of his subjects. They demanded representation and a check on the monarch's power. They demanded a Parliament.

Here's where, ironically, it got worse. See, when the king met with the agitators of the Referendum he wasn't meeting with members of the public who wished to see, but corporate-backed persons who wished to use this public backlash for their own gain. Parliament was, from its inception, rife with corporate greed. Minimum-wage and safety laws remained either unchanged or relaxed considerably. Competition laws were changed in such a way as to be effectively rendered defunct entirely, and tariffs on import goods were quietly raised in order to force people into buying Eikan. This led to an economic boom which benefitted only the wealthy or the landed nobility who had entered into partnerships with or otherwise owned shares in these booming businesses all the while the lower and middle classes continued to suffer.

But the King still held significant power over parliament and push-back began. He rolled back parliament's protectionist policies when an economic slowdown began, and began campaigning for an increase in minimum wage, which was supported by the people. When the King suffered his two strokes and subsequently was considered unfit to rule, Parliament made a power-play. Princess Krissal was, and still likely is, a drunkard who preferred to nurse the bottle than play politics, and was summarily passed over for the position of Monarch.

This was not, I think, because of her questionable pastimes being a matter of national embarrassment as was championed by Parliament, although it didn't help her chances. Their pick of Princess Cannin, now Cannin Div'Eikan, Face of the Revolution, as the candidate for Monarch would have lead to a regency government, one which Parliament was determined to lead. This would have allowed them, without having to consult the monarch, to simply concentrated more power into parliament, and tighten the corporate hold on the Government of Eikangaard.

And all the while, Republican and Socialist sentiments were becoming entrenched, people were becoming fed up with a government that did not represent them as the people of the nation, one that only seemed to be concerned with perpetuating the wealth and status of society's upper-class. Thus the civil war began with coup d'etat by Prince Derrig, who made no secret that this was for his own personal gain and that of the military. The people's patience had been pushed too far, and revolution began, first in the north under the Socialist EUSR, and then in the south under the Republic of Eikangaard.

But there were still the supporters of the Monarchy, many of whom now make their homes in the central Eikangaard regions. And the differing ideologies of the north and south of the country had become entrenched over the preceding years and, with the formation of new governments in these areas, became opposed to one-another. At this point, ideologically, the three states of Eikangaard have effectively split ideologically, and in many cases culturally. This makes one wonder if Eikangaard can ever reunify, and the answer to this is clear to me. Eikangaard cannot reunify. The country, both in borders and in spirit, has become three separate states. If one state were to suddenly gain dominion over the territory once owned by the Royal Union, they would find great difficulty trying to hold onto it.

Yet it is a dream that all three Eikangaard's share. The Republic whishes to unite the country under republicanism and further globalism, with joining the VU after unifying the country a major goal for the administration. The EUSR wishes to unite the country under a socialist model, creating a state where wealth is redistributed and where those that cannot support themselves is propped up fairly. And the Royal Union, now under new management, wishes to unite the state and recapture lost glory.

It is my opinion, that they will all fail in this endeavor. What is one is now three. It has been for at least a decade. It only took until now for that to be realized.

Government arrests 500 for being communist

Police raid offices and homes across Kheshkek as 534 people were accused of being in Kheshkek. The government says that they are trying to "undermine" the Islamic Republic and trying to spread "dangerous atheistic ideologies" most of them being former politicians or union leaders. Members are also accused of trying to bring communist influence as well and being spies of communist nations that wish to take advantage of Dirkhizistan to further spread their ideology. The most prominent of the many arrested is Mahmud Ahbiriev, the former leader of the Dirkhiz Communist Party before the ban of all parties in April. His home was the first one raided with police also arrested his family. The police are now considering also arrested former members of the Democratic Socialists of Dirkhizistan, Green Dirkhizistan Party, and Syndicalists of Dirkhizistan. Koshbashi Nazarxon also said that these are just the beginning and threatened to close off the country to keep any suspects from leaving the country.

The Communist Party reportedly had over 3000 members before the Islamic Revolution, which police forces in other cities such as Muhammakek, Izh, or Tuzhz are preparing to look for. The police chief of Izh gave a warning to any former members of these parties, "Turn yourself in and you will not face death". So far only two people have turned themselves in, both from Kheshkek. This is the first political purge in Dirkhizistan since the mass arrest of former members of the Conservative Party after they were overthrown by the revolution. Nazarxon has also announced at a rally yesterday that he is "probably going to execute most of them". "The west, communists, nazis or any other ideology cant enter the fortress of Dirkhizistan!" He said as well.

President Dobrin Nóvak reshuffles cabinet, administration to see fresh faces in ministerial positions, Tomáš Talbursen becomes Prime Minister

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – President Dobrin Nóvak has said goodbye to his old cabinet and is getting ready to welcome in a new one. The president held a series of personal meetings one-on-one with every minister, followed by a group meeting with all of them at once. The president thanked his outgoing administration members for their service to South Baggnagia. Nóvak plans to hold a public ceremony where he would give state honors to the members of his first cabinet as a thank you for their service.

While the president is saying goodbye to his old cabinet, the Chamber of Deputies is preparing to hold hearings on approving the president’s picks for new ministers. Some of the more notable candidates are Vojtěch Wylem Bětnar for Minister of Defense and Jurij Zéjler-Leichhardt for Minister of Foreign and Ventismarian Affairs. Public polling in South Baggnagia shows that the citizens are most concerned and interested in these ministerial positions at these international times and want true professionals in those offices. President Dobrin Nóvak has already said a formal goodbye to this old cabinet but the outgoing ministers would not be resigning until South Baggnagian lawmakers approve their replacements. This is a gesture of good faith towards the president from the outgoing ministers.

Another large change in government has been the introduction of the New Prime Minister of South Baggnagia. Tomáš Talbursen has assumed the position of the Prime Minister after President Dobrin Nóvak appointed him. Tomáš Talbursen was also the first new official to have already received support and approval from South Baggnagian MPs in President Dobrin Nóvak’s administration reshuffle.

Parliament Approves Building A Border Wall Between New Vesvai And Vesvai

New Vesvai’s Parliament has passed the controversial law allowing the construction of a border wall between New Vesvai and Vesvai. The vote in favor of building a border wall with Vesvai won with 94 in favor, 23 against and 16 abstaining. Because the majority of MPs supported the law, the announcement of the result by the Speaker of the House was met with a standing ovation. The resolution was named the Two Worlds Act.

Early reactions by New Vesvai’s population have been mixed. Opponents held street demonstrations against building a wall. The primary complaint of the opponents is that the border wall would be inhumane towards other Vesvaians on the other half of the island who want to flee authoritarian and de facto colonized Vesvai and move into democratic, independent and nationally proud New Vesvai. Anti-wall demonstrators also say that a physical barrier like this would limit the chances of Vesvai’s reunification sometime in the future when the situation changes on the northern half of the island. Finally they fear alienation it could bring between Vesvaian peoples on both sides.

But there were also proponents of the wall who held counter-demonstrations. The proponent side supports the notion that the wall would work for national security and also limit uncontrollable immigration from Vesvai to New Vesvai. By comparison Vesvai has been seeing a population decline while New Vesvai is seeing rapid growth. Most Vesvaians have been moving from Vesvai to New Vesvai even before New Vesvai proclaimed independence. When the island was still one nation it was easier to move from one half to the other. Now there is a border and international migration rules between two separate Vesvaian states. And yet migration continues even with customs and visas.

Proponents of the wall say that New Vesvai is facing overpopulation. Anti-wall opponents fired back with the argument that there is a same nation of people on both sides of the island and alienation or betrayal cannot be allowed. Pro-wall supporters say that Vesvaians on the northern side of the island should focus on toppling the VHU-led regime in Aurisi to end the shared problems of New Vesvai and Vesvai. Supporters of the wall say that the small quarter of the island that New Vesvai makes up cannot fit all Vesvaians there and neither will the Corentians let everybody in. The outspoken supporters of the wall quoted Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta who said that New Vesvai needed to be retaken by force. The words of Gaileta were also among the reasons for New Vesvai’s independence declaration in the first place. During their demonstration the proponents of the border wall also waved the flags of Sunrisia as a protector nation of New Vesvai.

The proposal to build a border wall was originally made by several opposition parties: Nationalist Bloc, United Conservatives and the Pro-Independence Coalition. The response by New Vesvai’s government led by the AIT coalition was that this proposition would be considered. At that time, instead of thinking about walls, fences or just a sealed border, the government thought that keeping the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army stationed on the border would be enough. The furthest the government went was the recent introduction of a visa system with Vesvai. These measures seemed satisfactory for New Vesvai’s national security interests. MPs also took into account the unpopularity of a decision to build a wall and how inhumane it would be towards other Vesvaians because it would ruin the image of New Vesvai as a nation that declares itself to be a home to all Vesvaians. But now that the vote has happened the population is split. Members of the Nationalist Bloc say that New Vesvai’s citizens will learn to recognize the wall’s necessity in time.

New Vesvai’s Minister of Finance Nikau Cedera laid out the economic side of things of the wall project in an interview:

“[N]ew Vesvai obviously needs to take care of its economic growth so we cannot make this project too much of a strain on ourselves. But it needs to happen. Thankfully our Enhanced Trade and Investment Agreement with Sunrisia and our trade with Western Corentia are helping us our progress. For a small nation like ours such economic ties are very important and very productive. What we could do is purchase materials from Sunrisia to construct the wall. The Sunrisians are building the so-called ‘Sea Wall’ themselves or artificial islands so they will probably have tools and materials. They would also be the first nation we’d go to, to ask for a loan but their finances are obviously focused in many other places right now. The current fight against resurgent terrorism in Edereon is the most recent of such things. First on the agenda comes His Imperial Majesty's birthday, occurring a few days ago. HIM celebrated his 35th year in the capital, receiving a wonderful demonstration by the Gesamte Kaiserliche Streitkräfte des engleanisches Kaiserreiches with a grand parade down Kaiserstraße. Sporting the traditional ceremonial uniforms of the GKSeK, the Kaiserliche Heer presented the heroes of the Frasian Insurrection to HIM and the nation as a whole. Attending the ceremony with HIM was the new Frasian Viceroy, Reichsfürst Cynfor Hohenzern-Mustang. This was His Royal Highness' first public appearance after being coronated as the Frasian Viceroy, and many of the public stated that it was "Interesting seeing a Mustang in Englean uniform."

On another topic, we turn to Western Corentia with the recent hostilities between Sunrisia and Ispanza. The isolationist ringleader of the MDAA has recently begun the construction of a new "maritime wall" which is included within the "new iron curtain." This act of hostility has been condemned by multiple nations, including the Kaiserreich. Außenminister von Richter has declared an official statement of condemnation of Sunrisia's recent actions, stating "The recent actions by Sunrisia to develop a "maritime wall" consisting of military assets is a clear sign of hostility to the island nation, and from our viewpoint appears as if Sunrisia is attempting to 'flex' their military might against a nation that does not present a threat. For a nation that condemns our Empire for being 'militaristic,' recent actions by the Sunrisian state lay a hypocritical light on the nation." von Richter continued on the subject of Damsmar: "Turning to another important MDAA member, Damsmar, we can see they have recently approved an increase in funding in their military. This is an interesting situation, with the MDAA suspiciously bringing about increases in military action and spending. If questioned, the Unitary Commission and Commiss Army will no doubt state that the increase is for 'defence from the Kaiserreich.' However, the GSKeK is prepared for any action by the MDAA and will continue to be."

In other news, election results have emerged from the Weniges Reich. The election in the nation has been interesting, with many different ideologies appearing in order to run in a diverse election. On the ballot was the various offices of the nation, including the Reichspräsident and the Reichskanzler which make up the executive offices of the nation. The elections saw Helmuth Fehrenbacher and Paul Steiner elected for the respective offices, with Steiner being a predominantly "progressive" candidate. These two new officials have stated that they wish to see the Weniges Reich become a prosperous nation, which wishes to cooperate with the international community to establish itself within the world. President Fehrenbacher has also hinted to possible talks with the Daredi government (which is recognised by the Englean government as the "Occupational Government") to end hostilities between the nations. Following the election, the Weniges Reichstag has elected to create a new governmental position for activities between the Weniges Reich and Western Corentian nations titled the "Ministry of Western Corentian Affairs" and it is still being debated as to who will be appointed to this office.

Within the Kaiserreich, the two Frasian states have been noted to be "cooperating well" in their current positions after the Frasian Armistice. The Viceroyalty of Frasia has seen a recent return to prosperity following the Frasian Insurrection, with much of the damage brought about on the territory by the rebellion being replaced with new infrastructure and technologies. The capital of Frasienstadt has seen the beginning of a new infrastructure project aimed at improving the metropolitan railways spanning from the city to nearby suburbs, with the project seeing the possible implementation of electric rail systems to replace the older diesel powered trains. Reichsfürst Cynfor stated in reference to the project that he "wished to see Frasienstadt mirror the greatest Englean cities of Engelberg and Berlin" which would "bring a spotlight to the Frasian state." On the opposite side of the territory, the Free District of Frasia has seen little activity as of late. The small territory was allowed autonomy by the Kaiserreich after armistice negotiations, and consists primarily of the former Frasian capital of Krefeld. Over the past month, not much has happened within the territory within the lines of the government. All that is known is that the officially designated Governor of the Free District of Frasia is Gunther Klauswell, and that the government was focused on "rebuilding the Frasian state" after its defeat. It is also known that the Free District has opened up to international embassies, with rumours stating that the Damsmarians have expressed interest in procuring an embassy.


In military news, the GSKeK has announced new projects entering research and development within the separate branches of the Imperial Military. The Kaiserliche Heer has announced the production of the Standardpanzer E-2020(X), nicknamed the "Super-Jaguar," which combines the latest armour technology with a new 130mm Reichsmetall XM-55 L/66 gun and the possibility of a later model sporting the 140mm Reichsmetall XM-89 L/67 cannon. A total of 25 are expected to be produced by the end of 2021, with the first being delivered in February of 2019. These vehicles will be slated to replace the original models of the Jaguar II, the Jaguar 2A2-A4. Likewise, the Kaiserliche-Marine has confirmed Projekt Revolution, which sees the modernisation of the Kaiserliche-Marine so that it may remain a potent force well into the middle 21st century. This project will see the replacement of multiple current vessels with newer classes that will be tasked with the security of the Kaiserreich and its allies throughout the world. The first vessels are slated for construction in 2020, with the first being SMS Hurrikan IV of the Hurrikan IV class destroyer line. Germaniawerft and Suusea have been confirmed as the two partner companies in developing new cruiser classes termed the "Surface Superiority Cruisers" which are said to begin construction in late 2019. Within the Luftstreitkräfte, the X-998 stealth fighter project has passed its first required tests and is said to be "on track" and "under budget." This fighter, nicknamed "Aurora," is stated to be the "new class of Englean aircraft" and will be primarily tasked with air superiority over the battlefield. It is stated to begin production in 2024, to replace the Junkern Ju-445 supersonic interceptor in Englean service.

In entertainment news, Strelitz based company Corentia Communications has announced the upcoming release of a new television show that has been in production since early 2017. The show's pilot, which was aired last week on the Imperial Entertainment Channel (IEC), was given positive reviews by many viewers and was green-lit for the rest of the show to begin production and release. The show, named "The Man in the Dark Fortress," is set in an alternate universe in which a different history played out in the Second Great War. In the show's universe, the Damsmarian Empire was successful in conquering Corentia (an impossible feat in the real war) with the assistance of the Frasian Reich but was not able to capture Engelberg. A peace agreement was signed in 1945, which saw Corentia under the grip of the Damsmarians until the deployment of the "Gott-Waffe" by a Luftstreitkräfte aircraft on Aygon in 1946. This weapon was a prototype hydrogen weapon developed by the Kaiserreich in secret, and was used to cut the head of the Damsmarian nation. Following the strike, the Kaiserreich was able to mobilise its forces along with those of Belantica to conquer the shattered Damsmarian Empire and the rest of Corentia. The show begins in 1963, where the Damsmarian people are held in the "Mittelland" of Corentia as a form of "prison nation." After the conquering of Damsmar, the genocide of Engleans was discovered and many Damsmarians were either used in the Great Invasion of Ventismar, in construction projects and manufacturing, or were placed in the camps of the "Reichsland Damsmar." The show follows Damsmarian scientists who accidentally transported themselves into this alternate universe and attempt to reach the mythical "Dark Fortress" where a man is said to have the technology to travel through different dimensions. The show will air on the Imperial Entertainment Channel and on foreign streaming services on Monday night at 21:00 Englean Imperial Time.

Daredland slams Englean-backed ‘elections’ in the Weniges Reich, direct negotiations with the Weniges Reich ended

Results for the ‘elections’ have been announced in the Weniges Reich, an Englean-backed entity occupying large parts of Wenigberg, an eastern region of Daredland. The first information source to inform about the results of the ‘elections’ was unsurprisingly the Englean state media. An individual by the name Helmuth Fehrenbacher has been ‘elected’ as the so-called Reichspräsident of the Weniges Reich while someone named Paul Steiner would assume the office of the so-called Reichskanzler of the Weniges Reich. There is no information on these people or their biography in Daredland and they have quite literally come out of nowhere. This decreases the chances of Fehrenbacher and Steiner being treasonous and collaborationist citizens of Daredland and instead increases the probability of them being Englean citizens, citizens of some other Germanic state or ethnically Germanic people from any other part of the world. These questions only raise the probability of deeper Englean involvement in the Weniges situation throughout.

After the ‘elections’ ended, ‘votes’ were counted and new ‘government’ formed, the so-called Weniges Reichstag voted to create the so-called ‘Ministry of Western Corentian Affairs.’ This ‘government body’ would be aimed at managing negotiations, relations and rapprochement with Western Corentian nations. This is probably a reference to the nations that are members of MDAA and SOWEFTA but Daredland might have also been placed in this category by the so-called ‘Ministry.’

In Freihat the reaction was swift. The Daredi government was quick to react to illegal activities outside Daredi law and under foreign control in the occupied territories of Daredland. Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs Friedrich Heuvel took the podium to express the government’s position:

“These so-called ‘elections’ happened on Daredi territory that has been cut off from our nation in an armed and militaristic way. Through war to be exact. Let us not forget that the whole Weniges crisis began when unidentified armed and masked people overthrew local municipal governments in the eastern parts of the Wenigberg region, took control, proclaimed the so-called Weniges Reich on seized territories and continued to advance westwards. Information later surfaced of Englean soldiers fighting alongside the militia. These allegations were only strengthened by the pro-Weniges rhetoric from the Kaiserliche leadership. Those events are still being investigated to find out which of the scenarios took place: Did the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg militarily intervened later, did the Kaiserliche regime and their special state agencies orchestrate, manufacture and architect the entire Weniges crisis from the start, or did they just supply material military support to the Weniges separatists? Neither of these outcomes would change the status quo of Daredland seeing Kaiserlich-Controlled Engleberg as an enemy, aggressor and occupant.

The full takeover of all of Wenigberg and more parts of Daredland by the Weniges militia and their Englean backers was stopped by the heroic Konfoderaleswehr. Our brave soldiers continue guarding the demarcation line even today to stop the expansion and are helping refugees from the occupied Weniges Reich to move into Daredland across the heavily militarized demarcation line. A cease-fire is in place but it has been periodically violated by the Weniges militants. And yet our troops fired back and allowed them to know that the advance would not be permitted. The Daredi people continue to thank and prayer for our brave soldiers holding the line and protecting our land from the aggressor to this day. Our people also feel deep gratitude to our MDAA partners who have been propping up the Daredi state and our defensive military capabilities in all ways ever since we encountered these hardships.

The so-called ‘elections’ in the Weniges Reich are a sham. It is theatre performance aimed at legitimizing the entity that is the Weniges Reich, the terrorist militia that seized power there and the foreign troops ‘hanging out’ there as if they were legally stationed or present on an existing sovereign nation. Daredi law and jurisdiction was forcefully terminated in the occupied territories and the ‘elections’ there were manufactured by the occupants and their foreign backers. In this case we are blaming not only the Kaiserlich-Controlled Engleberg but also nations that might have acted as neutral mediators or organizers of the ‘election’ process. To our knowledge a nation from another continent Dogmana was invited by the Englean occupants to help out in the ‘elections’ and that was Rhodevus. If that was the case then we blame Rhodevus just as much as we do the Kaiserlich-Controlled Engleberg for organizing this circus and this sham. Any nations involved in this sham in any way will join the list of Daredland’s adversaries and any relations we might have had will be put on a chopping block. These nations undermine the territorial integrity of Daredland and this makes them our enemy. That also goes out to all nations that will attempt to engage in the so-called interstate relations with the Weniges Reich as a legitimate state when the Kaiserliche regime starts putting money into its promotion as a legitimate state on a world stage. We already had the functioning authority or ‘government’ of the Island Territory of Belantica talk about projects in the Weniges Reich so this is the type of activities we are discouraging from.” – Friedrich Heuvel (CD), Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation

Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation Liam Schneider said that the Confederal Ministry of Reintegration and Reconciliation would be ending direct negotiations with the Weniges Reich that have been going on up to this point:

“We don’t want to negotiate with this new so-called ‘government’ of the Weniges Reich on an equal diplomatic level. Yes we did negotiate with the Weniges militia but we negotiated with them as you do with terrorists in desperate situation when you need to save hostages. We negotiated with them to allow a safe passage for Weniges refugees into the rest of Daredland and to prevent more armed clashes between Konfoderaleswehr and the Weniges militia.

The new so-called ‘government’ of the Weniges Reich are Englean surrogates and we are not going to directly interact with them. From this point on talks on problems related to the Weniges Reich would only be happening with the leadership of the Kaiserliche regime in Engleberg and not with their Weniges proxies. Those talks will be handled by the Special Representative for Interactions with the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg Heinrich Schweinsteiger. But I don’t feel like our government would be talking with the Engleans anytime soon.

In the meantime our Ministry has been instructed to end our work with the Weniges Reich and focus our full attention on the Hasperan Republic. We will also be asking the Sunrisian government that the Sunrisian special envoy Mr. Párêc Adstâtér who has been helping us with the Hasperan and Weniges negotiations, switch focus along with us and only help us with the Hasperan Republic from now on.” – Liam Schneider (CAB), Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation of the Daredi Confederation

Oculus on the verge of defeat, say army generals

Minister of State for Defense Fída Pãtriclér and generals of the Ederi Royal Armed Forces are confirming that the Oculus insurgency is on the verge of defeat despite only beginning 9 days ago. Officials are not hiding that such fast elimination of terrorists in the Ocidas province comes largely because of Sunrisia. The large western neighbor and ally has launched Operation White Light which has been a powerful military effort in helping out Ederi forces. This operation only grew in size and intensity after Sunrisian ex-politicians were killed in a terrorist attack conducted by Oculus. That terrorist attack happened basically on the second day of Sunrisian intervention. Among the victims were First President of the Democratic Union of Sunrisia Sánît Béâtídá, Chairman of the United Provisional Assembly and the National Integrity Council (UPANIC) Sûc Médelâ, Chairman of the National Unanimity Coalition and the Committee of the Transitional Authority (NUCCTA) Aélior Válétûdâ and Prime Chairman of the Democratic Union of Sunrisia Sálût Gáudâr. This mass murder of Sunrisian citizens by Oculus terrorists was supposedly plotted out as revenge but has only made Sunrisia take the fight personally. Ederi army generals say that Sunrisia is now more involved in the fight against Oculus on Ederi soil than Ederi forces are. The larger western neighbor has practically taken the lead in the fight.

Another helping factor has been MDAA ally Creperia not staying indifferent and beginning armament and equipping of Ederi Military. This has been a major boost from behind. Neighbor Daredland has offered help as well which the Ederi government has taken especially warmly. Daredland is going through its own problems and yet the nation was still ready to offer its energy and limited resources to help. Prime Minister Céc Mustigañ thanked Daredis but said that the nation should focus entirely on its own defense while Oculus will be taken care of by Edereon and Sunrisia. At the beginning of Oculus insurgency a blockade was created and the terrorist group has been completely isolated from any outside support or the ability to flee Edereon. Ederi army generals say that the terrorists are in a trap right now and will be finished off while locked in their cage. Before launching attacks Ederi and Sunrisian forces have been evacuating citizens from battle zones to clear areas where intelligence agencies detected Oculus presence. After the last terrorist attack which claimed four foreign victims, the militants of Oculus have tried more of such attacks. But fortunately the first terrorist attack that was missed by the intelligence agencies has been taken as cautionary tale. A commitment was made not to make the same mistake again. The further attempts of terrorist attacks had been exposed and stopped by special forces. These failed terror plots also helped expose more Oculus strongholds throughout Ocidas which allowed for an allied offensive.

Parliament Votes to Recognize an Occupational Government in Daredland, Weniges Recognition Remains
A few months ago, the news was struck with the story on how both the governments of Belantica and Daredland almost simultaneously remove recognition of statehood from one another, causing a political and travel gridlock for relations between the two countries. Relations further seemed sour when the Daredi government declared the "Island Territories" of Belantica to be a supporter of terrorism, which was not liked by many Belanticans since the last 50 years has had a few terrorist attacks within our borders, so the word doesn't settle well in Belantica. Eventually, citizens made demands about this radical claim, and Parliament's usually slow response yielded the creation of the cabinet position of the Minister of Continental Affairs, in which John Muller was appointed, who set out to work with various MPs and government officials to find a new answer to the Daredi-Weniges Incident. Today, with 58 of 74 (78.4%) voting in favor of a semi-restoration of Daredland's status as a nation, classifying it as a "Occupational Government" at this time, as a result of hostilities from the Daredi government. This does not mean recognition of the Weniges government that recently had elections will be removed, in fact, it will remain. Opposing it was only 13 (17.6%), while the remaining abstained. The vote was concluded, and Queen Karen signed this bill into enactment in Januray 1st, 2019. All this was done before the bustling halls of Parliament close for the Holidays.

"In this world, compromises must be made all the time," said Senator Nicolas Willison (Liberal-Nuranto), " and relations are no exception. The fact is the majority of the people here in Belantica do not like terrorism, and do not like the association that the Daredi Occupational Government has labelled an entire nation to be, and along with us, removed recognition. However today, the United Queendoms has deided to reclassify the territory of Daredland to be under their Occupational Government that they instilled, with the suspicion it was aided by an outside force to the west. Nevertheless, we decided that we should reverse this decision, but remind them that their hostilities are not welcome. In addition, because we cannot trust this government, a fair warning will be to not attack our nation, our people, or cut us off from the world, otherwise things would only get worse."

In other news of the Weniges Republic, the House of Commons began to talk over planning an embassy with the new government, and welcome them to open one within Center City. However, there was no vote over the matter, and would have to wait for the next session of Parliament on January 4th. Many MPs said that relations should be firm with the WR, and find ways to help grow their economy and become a full nation.

Daredland calls for a first meeting of the MDAA–Daredland Commission, Council of States addresses status quo change from the Island Territory of Belantica

The ‘elections’ in the Weniges Reich have encouraged the Daredi government to call for the very first meeting of the MDAA–Daredland Commission. Daredland wanted to make such a request for a meeting earlier but plans were postponed. Now to the government in Freihat believes that it is a perfect time. Lower house National Council and upper house Council of States have separately discussed in their own sessions the Englean appropriation of the Weniges Reich and the forced severance of the occupied territories from Daredland. The two chambers of the United Confederal Assembly then left it up to the Confederal Ministry of MDAA Accession to pick up the pace in fulfilling the functions that the government department was created for.

Confederal Minister of MDAA Accession Günter Heilig informed the media that the Daredi government has called for the very first meeting of the MDAA–Daredland Commission to consult and further the integration processes with the alliance. After the first meeting the work of the Commission should become regularly scheduled and continuous. The United Confederal Assembly also hoped for an eventual summit involving members of the alliance and Daredland. Identical expectations are within Daredland Confederal Cabinet of the Daredi Confederation and are personally shared by President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan.

“What we hope for from the first meeting of the MDAA–Daredland Commission if it happens is for consultations with the alliance on what is happening and also to discuss the advance of cooperation, partnership and integration processes. These processes need to keep moving forward even with continuous attempts from abroad to pressure or blackmail us. Basically it is time to start the work that the MDAA–Daredland Commission was created to do which is implementing the MDAA–Daredland Action Plan. Hopefully it would be followed by a summit where the parties could sign some treaties that would realize those integration processes step by step. If the MDAA side agrees to have the meeting then that gathering could include not only the aforementioned discussions of cooperation, partnership and integration processes but also the organizational procedures of the aforementioned summit.” – Günter Heilig (WCND), Confederal Minister of MDAA Accession of the Daredi Confederation

The media wanted to know what would be Daredland’s response to Belantica re-recognizing Daredland as a sovereign state but copying the Kaiserliche regime in Engleberg by recognizing the current government in Freihat as ‘Occupational Government’, retaining recognition of the Weniges Reich as a sovereign state and planning to expand relations with the Weniges Reich through diplomatic, economic and otherwise.

The Council of States took the initiative of explaining the diplomatic response this time around:

“We will not be rushing to recognizing the Island Territory of Belantica as a sovereign state at this time. Our government has other priorities. If we do eventually get to recognizing ITB as a nation then the furthest we will go is recognize it in the same way we do the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg. ITB would become the Königin-Controlled State of Belantica. That would mean that we do not view the current authority or ‘government’ in the Island Territory of Belantica as a sole leadership and representative of individuals inhabiting that island. Basically the same rules as with the Englean state. The sovereign state of Engleberg exists but the Kaiserliche regime is disposable. The hypothetical ‘government’ of a hypothetical state of Belantica would also be viewed as disposable. If we are recognized as an ‘Occupational Government’ it means that we are not recognized as the sole legitimate government of Daredland by the Kaiserliche regime and by the functioning authority of ITB so our attitude is the same.

We would definitely not be removing the recognition of the Island Territory of Belantica as a Sponsor of Terrorism because any entity or nation that supports the Weniges Reich and helps out the criminals there to further illegally occupy parts of Daredland’s Wenigberg region are helping terrorists that originally cut off part of Daredland from us and take local inhabitants hostage. Local residents are Daredi citizens and we will not abandon them. While the EUSR has gotten assistance from the People's United Republic of Librira in setting up its electoral process to ensure a fair and unbiased election. The People's Constitution of the EUSR, was recently amended to make a clear delineation between the National Government and the current-ruling United Socialist Party of Eikangaard (USPE), which opened the gate for them to approve the formation of independent political parties.

But evidently, this is not considered enough for the current government of the EUSR, which aims to prove conclusively that it's electoral process is non-partisan and unbiased, both to its citizens and for the world as a whole. The EUSR is requesting that the United Sunalayan Assembly send officials to act as an independent third-party to determine the presence of electoral fraud or other election related crimes during the 2019 election cycle.

And this has caused no small amount of splits within the National People's Council, which is the current seat of Government within the EUSR. Jans Mikkleson, current head of the recently formed Communist Party of Eikangaard (CPE) after splitting with the current national party, has openly criticized the proposal calling it an "unfair and unwanted intrusion by bourgeois and capitalist national governments into our domestic affairs." He has openly stated that the EUSR must act independently of outside observers, stating: "The rest of the world badly wishes to see the end of independence of the Eikan people, as evidenced by their open backing of a bourgeois puppet-state in the Republic of Eikangaard. This invitation to the USA to oversee elections fraud will allow them unparalleled ability to undermine our electoral process for the benefit the corporations in which who's pockets the United Sunalayan Assembly sits."

Janet Maass defended her party's decision to invite the USA to oversee electoral crime. "A violent revolution to establish a radically different state to the previous regime has created a massive amount of instability. This instability has left gaps which our new regime could exploit to assume absolute power after perverting our original message to suit our own ends. While we continue to assure the people and our counterparts in governments abroad that we will continue to allow due process and an open and free political discourse within our nation, people are still understandably wary. This USA oversight will be a major step into stabilizing our relations with bout the people of Eikangaard, and with other nations abroad by providing evidence of transparency and fairness in our government agencies and leadership."

Matadi had becomed entrenched in a conflict that had been going on and off for 4 decades prior and had no choice but to keep fighting. Coalition forces were able to push back the Bohinians back to their capitol and restored order to the region in 2011. The effects from the war still are visible in Bohin today with thousands still under the poverty line and families missing numerous members. May this dark stain never be repeated and that the people of Ziambian will always be united.

Wild Horse Population has Doubled

In an ecological success, the wild horse population in Rhodevus has reached 1,000 for the first time since the 1910s. While horses are not native to Rhodevus, having been brought over from Ventismar in the 1400s, the horse has played a pivotal role in shaping the country. Wild horses; those which were abandoned or escaped into the countryside in the early days of colonization became an often sight, with hundreds of herds roaming the plains across the country.

Wild horse populations did eventually decrease as more land was taken to be used for farming and development, shrinking the population from roughly 500,000 in the late 1700s to only 15,000 by the late 1800s. This population would eventually decrease to less than a hundred during the First World War period, when wild horses were taken and tamed to be used in the war effort, or killed to be used as a cheap source of meat.

Conservation efforts began in the late 1950s to revive the wild horse populations. Now, with wild horse numbers surpassing 1,000 again, wild horse populations are considered stable and direct efforts can be slowed, allowing nature to once again take its course.
“While [wild horse] populations will never be able to reach their peak, herds will now be able to roam freely once more. Wild horses have also been directed away from population centers, so they can run through Rhodevus’s uninhabited plains.”

Ecotourists from all around the globe are ecstatic with recent news of the opening of the Tubanga National Park.

Tubanga is one of the largest nature reserves in all of Ziambain at 643 kilometers squared. It is home to all of the Big 5 species (lion, leopard, elephant, cape buffalo, and rhinoceros) as well as plethora of many other species such as giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, honey badgers, meerkats, and many more. New state of the art facilites have also been developed to cater to the economic needs of the variety of tourists.

Tubanga's main priority is education, and wants to teach people about the importance of nature and all of the wonderful creatures that inhabit it. The Nyasi Burkinabe Center, named after famous Matadian eco-logist who discovered the cure to Dengue Fever, is a large museum with holographic exhibts, interactive tours, and a prehistoric past exhibit which chronicles the lives of early humans.

Umbrellya legalizes recreational marijuana and more

SOKACZOW - the Szecej Dom (Umbrellya's parliament) officially passed Bill G-83 on Friday, legalizing recreational marijuana country-wide. Parliament voted in favour of passing the bill 266/112, championed by Prime Minister Gdańsk's Free Market Democratics (WRD) and the United Social Liberals (LS). The WRD first announced the creation of the bill last May but it faced trouble entering parliament after multiple amendments in October, February and April. A finalized version was brought to parliament earlier this month where it faced significant concern from the Conservative Party (KI) and Union of Parcan Nationalists (UPN) which advocated for the current decriminalized status of cannabis.

The role of distribution and production of cannabis and cannabis-related products will be handed over completely to the private sector. Gdańsk and the Free Market Democratics faced opposition from the United Social Liberals on the aspect that the law favours privatization over government regulation, fearing uncertainty in Umbrelliet corporate practices. However, Gdańsk and the WRD argued that distribution should be left to enterprises to prevent a government monopoly on prices and production.

Marijuana legalization has been a popular political issue in Umbrellya for decades, with legalization bills being proposed several times in 2005, 2009, and 2012 - all of which could not garner enough support in parliament, until now. However, this issue has historically been one that the Umbrelliet public and government have widely disagreed on. A 2016 Statistics Umbrellya census found that approximately 23% of Umbrellas had used cannabis within the past 6 months and over 64% of them said they supported national-level legalization of personal cannabis use.

Undoubtedly the most controversial aspect of Bill G-83 is that it will also decriminalize all other drugs and substances for private research. Private companies will be allowed to use various newly-decriminalized substances in research facilities for a better medical understanding of them. Umbrelliet enterprises such as Aviary, Dawidika Inc., Rossi-Freimont Medicals and Ulkova Industries are expected to be the primary drivers of future drugs/substances research. This means that Aviary's past lobbying of government officials to pass drug research legislation has finally paid off. Several insider reports indicate significant company interest in methamphetamine research in human beings and animals.

The legalization date has been set for January 19th of next year to follow the Christmas holidays. When legalized, Umbrellya will become the second country in Ventismar to legalize recreational marijuana.

President Masimba Coutinho in his most recent speech has mentioned his enthusiasm of engaging Matadi in trade parterships with the numerous other nations of the world. He has stated that, " For too long people in the West have looked upon the entire continent of Ziamban as a cesspool for poverty and violence, I plan to change that image. Matadi is quite developed and has a GDP of 3.3 Trillion dollars. I believe that trade and diplomacy between any party that seeks relations will be beneficial for both sides." Coutinho has also announced plans for Matadi to become more involved in world politics as well as in international events such as the Sunalaya games.




The government has interest in trading materials such as diamonds, oil, gold, rubber, uranium, and helium which are all in abundance within the country. Matadi is also in the works of planning and hosting an International Language Conference, where countries from all over the globe can share their language and form unions with those who share a common tongue.

Hope For the Damsmarian Rainforest Campaign 2019

The Nogar Rainforest along the River Nogar. It is the most bio diverse region in Damsmar, along with the Selt and Porfonegro National Parks

Damsmar was once covered in thick and lush rainforest, but that has declined to todays sparse pockets and protected regions. Since the arrival of colonists in 1587 , our rainforests have been chopped down for timber and raw resources sought for by the new overlords of Damsmar. Since the turn of the 20th century the worlds increased love for palm oil and timber has accelerated its decline, especially after the fall of the Damsmarian Empire, which ushered in decades of unregulated deforestation and destruction of the Damsmarian habitat.

Today The Seven United has thrown mounds of red tape at loggers, commissioning new national parks and increasing environmental protections. It was promised in 1982 by the ambitious Unitary Commission that by 2012, thirty years later, we would have "beat back the desert" and that Damsmarian existing rainforest stock would have quadrupled. The short note is that this hasn't happened, we have seen an acceleration of desertification, and our rainforest cover hasn't even doubled let alone quadrupled.

This is why S7NN are launching their Hope for the Rainforest Campaign 2019. By raising awareness, money and encouraging the government to instate a new Rainforest Growth Committee, we want to see the doubling of the cover of the Damsmarian rainforest by the end of the year. It isn't that we are overpopulated, or that we don't have any space, Damsmar is underpopulated, we just need to change landowners mindsets around the rainforests of our country.

Instead of clear cutting their forgotten land, we want to encourage landowners to leave it as it is and see the benefits of letting the wild return. Instead of returning every few years to a patch of rainforest, then clear cutting it, we could see these areas promote eco-tourism and sustainable cultivation of crops which benefit local workers and people. We will also ask our viewers and readers to be conscious about what products they take off the shop shelf. Palm oil has had a massive detrimental effect to our environment, turning some places into barren mono culture for as long as the eye can see. We at S7NN have also created a new petition asking for the Unitary Government to increase the subsidies by 50% for farmers that decide to leave portions of their land free for the growth of foliage. This means it will make more economic sense to let nature come back. By also funding afforestation schemes in areas prone to desertification, we will make sure that farmers in these areas in the future are secure in the knowledge that the deserts are stopped in their tracks, and that they have a secure future ahead of them.

We can together bring back our native and unique wildlife to the countryside. We can bring back the rich green landscape now locked to protected rainforests, riversides and abandoned land in the west. Together we can make a big difference for farmers and villages suffering from desertification and climate change, so please, come aboard on the Hope for the Damsmarian Rainforest Campaign 2019.

It is a sad day for the Vuvaunese as beloved King Lakbir has passed on. He will be forever remembered for championing of equality and education for all Vuvaunese and promoting peace and unity throughout the region. His death however raises many questions that are going to have to answered quite soon. Who will take over the throne?

Since the King died without an heir to the throne, many different organizations have expressed their ambitions to rule the country. Many in the international community are worried about the wave ultra nationalism that has swept the country these past couple of years. Their are even widespread claims of annexing large swaths of the continent to the West.

Overpopulation and nationalism have culminated into an unstoppable force. Many are predicting either a coup or at the worst, a full blown civil war.

Ariwana Prepare for General Elections



elections to elect parliamentarians stayed a few days. five political parties participating in the election have campaigned for months before, they are Siji Ariwana, Forum Reformasi, Serikat Dagang, Partai Buruh and Kaum Kartinian. Ariwanese Election Commission (Komper) as an institution authorized to hold elections in Ariwana has finished distributing ballot boxes throughout the country. Komper has also distributed ballot papers one week earlier in case there is damage to the papers.

the interesting thing about this year's election is that Ariwanese parliamentary election and Ariwanese presidential election are held simultaneously throughout the country. the presidential and vice-presidential candidates who will compete for votes later during the election are Mr. Tuan Guru Bujang with Mr. Anies Matta as first candidate and Mr. Halim Dewantara with Mr. Rahmat Yamin as the second candidate. The first candidate is supported by Siji Ariwana (Ariwanese People Party) and Serikat Dagang (Party of Merchant Guilds). while on the other side, the second candidate is supported by Forum Reformasi (Reform Party), Partai Buruh (Labour Party) and Kaum Kartinian (Feminist Party).

the people of Ariwana is expected to be together - to keep a conducive situation during the election and finish later. thousands of police officers will also be assigned to maintain security around the polling location so that unwanted things will not happen. (Lilimo, Ariwana)

Oculus losing last stronghold

Counter-insurgency efforts continue working and have pushed towards this awaited result. Ederi and Sunrisian forces are currently in the middle of taking back last stronghold from Oculus terrorists in the Ocidas autonomous region. The insurgency waged by Oculus has been low-level and has not led to major fighting. This hopeful final confrontation with Oculus to take down the stronghold has not been an exception and no major destructive battle is happening. Counter-insurgent and counter-terrorist troops are having militants of Oculus dropping at their feet in this advance on Oculus bases. Army generals of Ederi Royal Armed Forces say that it is not correct to ring the bells of victory before the mission is over. Yet according to the situation in the field now victory is right around the corner. Ederi army generals foresaw a full defeat of Oculus several days ago when they reported how fast and how actively isolated terrorists have been losing ground in Ocidas. This is without even mentioning their failure to advance forward or occupy new Ederi land. In the climate of successful fight in the field the intelligence agencies of Edereon and Sunrisia have been foiling one Oculus terrorist plot after another in populated areas. If this success by military and intelligence continues then new civilian victims of Oculus will be ruled out. The next update on the situation is expected from Ederi army in a span of several hours.
