President Válîd Sâlúbĕr And Sunrisian Convet Approve – “Maritime Wall”: Artificial Islands Planned To Be Built As Part Of The Project

Image

Approximate positioning of the “Maritime Wall.”

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has signed an Executive Order initiating the establishment of the unofficially-named – “Maritime Wall.” It was signed by the President after the commander-in-chief held meetings with the National Defense Council and representatives of the Department of Security. Afterwards, the Executive Order signed by the President, was approved by the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic with ratification by its’ members.

The “Maritime Wall” would follow the function of serving as a physical and material reinforcement, as well as manifestation, of one part of the New Iron Curtain, a term and concept coined in Sunrisia. The “Maritime Wall” would include building a line/archipelago of artificial islands off the southern coast of Sunrisia. The archipelago of artificial islands would have to be designed to be capable of holding military infrastructure, weapons, equipment, artillery and armed forces that would be deployed in case of recognition of a national security threat. It would also function as a consistent physical buffer during times of peace, with armed forces and military tech being deployed there in times of danger. The islands would be receiving consistent protection by the Sunrisian Naval Forces and the Sunrisian Air Force. The Department of Security reported that the “Maritime Wall” consisting of artificial islands and additional patrolling warships, would be built within the territorial waters of Sunrisia along our country’s southwestern maritime boundary. The Department of International Relations backed up the statement and added that Sunrisia would not be expanding to artificial islands beyond our country’s territorial waters to make illegitimate claims towards neutral international waters, where sailing is allowed by international conventions backed by international [globalist] organizations. The “Maritime Wall” would be strictly a national security project.

The construction of the artificial islands would begin soon and the construction work would be done under the protection of the Sunrisian Air Force and the Sunrisian Naval Forces to guarantee the security of the workers and of the project. Until the artificial island archipelago is physically constructed, the warships of the Sunrisian Naval Forces would align along the perimeter of where the artificial island archipelago would lay, when it comes to be. The rest of security would be contributed by coastal defense and fortifications. The Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce stated that Sunrisian ports in the country’s south-west would still be available for us, it’s just the ships would have to go around the “Maritime Wall” in the western and eastern directions, rather than southern.

Ispanza Condemns Actions of Sunrisia

News has recently broken of the government of Sunrisia’s plan to build a maritime wall, guarded by warships between the country and the islands of Ispanza. In a move that can only be seen as a hostile action to block Ispanza from the Corentian continent, Prime Minister Sir Harold Saunders has condemned the Surisian proposal.

“It is quite easy to see what is going on with Sunrisia and its new ‘iron curtain’ as it refers to it. Once again, Ispanza is being treated as an enemy of Sunrisia and the MDAA. The wall itself is directly in front of Ispanza and only Ispanza. This move is meant to block this country from the economic markets in Corentia. Just like many of Sunrisia’s actions in the past have done. The Tropical Dominion of Ispanza condemns the Sunrisian government and its plan to cripple this proud nation. If Sunrisia wishes to be hostile, then Ispanza will stop holding out the olive branch.”

The Prime Minister and the rest of the senate have gone into lengthy discussions about imposing sanctions on Sunrisian goods or ending all trade with Sunrisia altogether.

While this maritime wall is stated to be completely in Sunrisian maritime borders, the Ispanzan Navy has been placed on high alert and has requested assistance from its allies in Rhodevus and Engleberg to help patrol the island nation, should the Sunrisian military plan anything directly hostile.

“Ispanzan trade primarily flows Northward and Westward already.” Said Dr. August Crampf, a professor of economics at the University of Eutepta. “Ispanzan exports go mainly to Dogmanan markets in the North and Ziambani markets in the West. This is mainly due to what was already in place; that being severe limitations placed on Ispanza by the Sunrisian governed MDAA. Ispanzan goods are in most cases restricted from entering into Corentia through its closest mainland neighbor, due to fear that is might include Dogmanan materials and supplies. Now, their issue with Dogmana is a completely separate topic of discussion, but how they are treating their Corentian neighbours that aren’t in the MDAA is troubling. How they refer to this wall-how they named it themselves-as the New Iron Curtain? That goes to show their exact strategy for it. To divide Ispanza from the rest of Corentia.”

When asked why he believes Sunrisia may be so hard on Ispanza, Dr. Crampf replied, “it is fairly obvious. Sunrisia hates the Rhodeve Commonwealth. As a member of the Rhodeve Commonwealth; the closest member to the Sunrisian mainland, this places their entire gaze firmly on this nation. They built it into their minds that if they can economically ruin Ispanza and keep them isolated from common markets, then it could have disastrous impacts on the Commonwealth and Sunrisia’s true enemies. But, it’s quite clear that they do not know how to make friends in a modern setting.”

As of now, Ispanza has not decided on any actions, outside of increasing patrols of its inner waters.

Republic Senate Passes Bill 1422 - The Terrorism Removal Act

New development's are coming out of Vaastergaad this evening, with the passage of Bill 1422, dubbed by the Republican Senate as the "Terrorism Removal Act". While many within the government, including President Lina Tamber, have championed the bill as a "necessary step in combating terrorism, especially with regards to the worrying events in Ashukal" many lawmakers both at home and abroad have already come down hard on the Bill. To understand the controversy we need to understand both the Bill's aims and what repercussions it may have moving forward.

Following the recent victory of the Republic in its war of liberation, the country has seen a sharp increase in the level of terror attacks conducted on both government officials and spaces, and on civilians. The face of the revolution, Cannin Div'Eikan has also reported to be the victim of multiple threats against her life. Many of these attacks have been proven through a multitude of investigations to have originated either form home-grown pro-monarchist terror groups, or state-sponsored attacks by the EUSR using home-grown communist sympathizers. Bill 1422's greatest tools in combating this wave of terror are both it's ability to grant local and state law-enforcement offices the ability to gather information on potential terror suspects and provide these same law makers the capacity to shut down or to otherwise block the flow of digital information between terror cells.

The first part of the bill's terror-fighting capacity is Section 2, which allows the law enforcement to monitor citizens' digital communications without a warrant. The aim of Section 2 is thus to identify who is likely involved in or about to commit an act of terror, or who might be at risk of being targeted for recruitment or attack by these groups.

But this not the part of the bill that has most people up in arms. Section 5 concerns the identification and prevention of the spreading or sharing of information between terror groups. In it, it states that: "Any website found to contain any user-created content communicating the intention to commit terrorist acts or aligning with terrorist ideologies will be held financially and legally responsible to any damages caused by these users."

Many have called into question the need for Section 5, calling it an: "unnecessary piece of legislation" which "attempts to force tech companies into self-censorship to protect themselves from legal repercussions due to the actions of their users." Further, others have argued that the bill sets the groundwork for a crackdown on political ideologies differing from that of the government, paving the way for a transition from democracy to a dictatorship. It has thus drawn a certain level of ire from civil rights groups, and there have already been rumblings of a consortium of tech companies and democratic rights advocates' plans to challenge Bill 1422 in court.

Parliament Condemns Sunrisian Wall, Stands With Ispanza, Navy Deployed To Area

With recent news of the nation of Sunrisia announced to construct a Maritime Wall along their maritime borders. When looking at the maps of this wall, one cannot help but notice that where the wall is planned happens to be built between their nation and the small island chain of Ispanza. Ispanza, both an ally and fellow member of the Rhodeve Commonwealth, has condemned the actions of the Sunrisian government, citing it as a hostile action towards them to break them away from their ties to the rest of Corentia. In solidarity with Ispanza, Parliament officialy condemned Sunrisia on the construction of this wall, citing "an unnecessary waste and unwarranted hostility towards Ispanza, which realistically is not a threat to Sunrisia." Furthermore, this has caused concerns among Belanticans and economists, who see the maritime wall as a disaster.

"From an economic viewpoint, the construction of such a wall is unfeasible, even for military purpose when the bottom line is looked at," stated economist Keiichi Hatsueno, "they must realize the deep sea dredging and seafloor construction not only takes incredible amounts of time, but is very expensive and becomes that very quickly. In fact, a majority of sea reclamation projects around the around have run into the hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars just to reclaim small portions of land from the sea. Take Nuranto City Airport, built on an artificial island 5 square miles in size, was not cheap. The dredging and construction of just the island itself costed the city 5.6 billion to construct. Surely, a wall build in deeper ocean waters strong enough to withstand ocean weather and military hardware will surely empty their coffers, and that's the best case, since it would be a project that could put them in extreme debt, and seeing how they are closing off to the world, would be hard to pay off and would ruin their economy."

The Ministry of Defense, in a call to help safeguard our ally and partner Ispanza, has dispatched a fleet of the Royal Belantic Navy to the island chain, their arrival being within the next few days. The purpose of the dispatch will be to deter any potential hostilities towards the island nation, and to protect vital trade routes to and from Ispanza "As their ally and partner in the Rhodeve Commonwealth, we have an obligation to assist them in deterring potential threats. The fact of the matter is that this wall was planned directly between Ispanza and Sunrisia, and just barely within the Sunrisian EEZ for that matter. We are not exactly sure what their goal is, but we feel that this maritime wall could be used to push their own territorial boundaries around Ispanza and close them off from the world, which is uncalled for. Essentially, this is very close to how bullies have at say, a schoolyard, where they pick on the smaller kids to harass, mock, and steal from. Sunrisia would be the bully in that scenario, and Ispanza is the kid being bullied, and we can't let that slide. Alonf our other allies like the Engleans and the Rhodeve, I am sure that combined as one team, we would push away these hostilities. And hopefully, not skirmishes will occur."

Ispanza’s New Deals

With a 73-52 vote in favour, Ispanza will be working towards establishing tariffs on Sunrisian goods as well as quotas to limit the amount of Sunrisian goods entering the country. While no amounts and percentages have been decided on yet, it is believed that a final decision will be put to vote by the end of January, 2019.

In terms of new deals which will help combat economic failure when the New Iron Curtain begins construction, Ispanza has joined in on a multilateral trade deal with Librira, North Rukonia and Belantica. This trade deal will help open Corentian markets not associated with the MDAA as well as those in Ventismar.

“While increased naval travel will always remain an issue, having trade partners in Corentia will help to combat efforts to block Ispanza from the very important regional market.” Said Mr. John Henry, who was put in charge of Ispanza’s portion of this Libriran trad deal.

The Ispanzan military has also been on the lookout for new planes and ships to add to its force. Specifically, cargo and transport planes have been a high priority item for the air force, which lacks any. At present, it seems like Ispanza is close to completing a deal with Engleberg, which will see the purchase of 14 cargo sea-planes for 875,000 each. A total 12.25 million NSD investment into the air force. As for ships, there are speculations that a Rhodeve destroyer is being considered, though no official news has been received as to if these rumours are true.

NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

New Vesvai Creates Visa System With Vesvai: Opposition Suggests To Build A Wall On The Border With Vesvai

New Vesvai’s Parliament has passed a bill that creates a visa system with Vesvai. This law has been criticized because New Vesvai’s government has declared itself an ally of all ethnic Vesvaians and said that the true enemy of New Vesvai is the regime in Aurisi led by VHU party. Vesvaians on both sides of the border are still considered brothers and the same divided people. Critics say this new visa system is a hit against Vesvaians in Vesvai and not against the VHU-led government. Prime Minister Kai Placore said it was a difficult decision to make for MPs for him to approve of personally. But this was a difficult decision to make for national security reasons and to keep Vesvai’s military, police, intelligence and other services from infiltrating and destabilizing Vesvai. In modern days of hybrid warfare direct invasion is not the only method and a fake rebellion could be stage from the inside by outside nations. The governing AIT coalition hopes that New Vesvai’s citizens will grow to understand this in time.

Meanwhile several New Vesvai’s opposition parties have come forth with a proposition to the government led by the AIT coalition. Nationalist Bloc, United Conservatives and the Pro-Independence Coalition have put forth a proposal to build a wall on New Vesvai’s side of the international border with Vesvai. This construction project has been described as vital to New Vesvai’s national security, stability and independence because not everyone in Vesvai is still happy with New Vesvai’s independence declaration.

Since New Vesvai declared independence from Vesvai, the former demarcation line has now become an international border between two nations on one island. Demarcation and establishment of customs has happened since but rival militaries still remain mobilized along the border since. The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces on Vesvai’s side and the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army on New Vesvai’s side remain deployed. They have been sent there since New Vesvai first declared its existence but agreed to stay in the same sovereign state with the rest of Vesvai as a self-governing territory. Now New Vesvai has declared independence and a clear international border has been established but rival militaries remain in a stand-off. Some commentators say that Vesvai wants to intimidate New Vesvai and hints at invasion plans to re-establish the integrity of Vesvai under one flag. Optimists see this bilateral deployment as a positive thing because a stand-off between both armies provides a power balance and deterrence that will keep either side from advancing. Deterrence is also provided by New Vesvai’s military alliance with Sunrisia and Vesvai’s membership in ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth which has the Rhodeve Commonwealth Army. According to optimists this makes a military confrontation between two Vesvais not beneficial not only to both nations but also internationally. Deterrence will be prevail. The border between New Vesvai and Vesvai has been a normal and opened international border with bilateral travel allowed via passport control and new visa system. New Vesvai’s opposition now wants that border closed from New Vesvai’s side.

They have proposed to construct a wall on the border that would barricade the land border. Aerial and maritime travel would remain available for citizens on both sides under careful customs and border control from New Vesvai’s side. Vesvai’s citizens would have to get visas. Some versions suggest having this wall with special access corridors and others say the wall should be solid with no ‘doors’ in it. PM Kai Placore said the government would consider the opposition’s proposal but at the moment it comes in conflict with New Vesvai’s positioning of itself as safe haven and dream land for all Vesvaians. Members of the Nationalist Bloc say that New Vesvai should not allow an overpopulation crisis to happen by allowing a welcoming influx into New Vesvai from Vesvai. The demographic and immigration issues is also why the Nationalist Bloc backs a border wall.

Soldurs Des will "frustrate government" if Alt Liberal party do not vote in favour of the military funding bill

Tomorrow Soldurs Des will table the "Commiss Army Extended Funding Increase" bill to the Unitary Parliament. Their leader, Montserrat Diegas, has been in consistent talks with the Commiss Army leadership particularly the Chief of Staff Nicolas Fernandez. These talks have been condemned by all parties and it is expected that the Communist Party will table forward a bill to prohibit such meetings in the future. However, It is expected that this bill which will be released for view tomorrow morning, and voted upon in the evening, will mean an increase in funding for the army and the release of extra money for the modernisation and expansion programme.

Montserrat Diegas the current leader of Soldurs Des said "Our party will launch forward the Commiss Army Extended Funding Increase to Unitary parliament tomorrow. It will secure extra funding for our precious army and make sure that in the future it is supplied with money, equipment, and the resources it needs in order to protect Damsmar from the likes of the Englean Hun or home bred terrorist. Not only this, but the bill is also very important for the ruling government. At the moment the Alt Liberals have three hundred and one members of Unitary Parliament, which is twenty less than what it requires to sustain a majority in the parliament buildings. Should the Alt Liberal party vote against this bill we will see to it that we will coordinate with other parties to make sure that the Alt Liberals will have no power within the chamber anymore and subsequently frustrate Andersons tenure indefinitely until some sort of deal is reached."

The Alt Liberal party will "review the bill" and "vote and apply a whip on that basis" according to the Alt Lib press secretary. Anderson has made no comments on this particular matter, but has consistently challenged the belief that her government could tumble if the Unitary chamber decided to apply staunch whips against any bill or motion presented by her government. According to our political analysts, if this were to happen the party will be in deep deep water and this could call uncertainty into her tenure as Unitary Commissioner, and subsequently the party's control of the government.

REGIONAL:

Damsmarian Board of Trade publishes the "East/West Infrastructure Link" plan. Billions of Argents in infrastructure investments to improve and upgrade trading infrastructure, including rail, airports and road to be completed over a six year time span. It is to be received by the Anderson administration officially on Monday, and voting possible later on if the Anderson administration sees it with a good light.

INTERNATIONAL:

With troops deployed on the eastern border with Engleberg, how will they react to the increase in military presence?

Massive arms deal with VU nations expected if Commiss Army bill is voted in tomorrow by the Unitary Parliament.

Damsmarian Board of Trade Chairwoman Alijée Lolita says that the Sunrisian "Sea Wall" has not effected Damsmarian trading with Ispanza and other nations outside of Corentia. "Business as usual" is the message, and that no plans for extra tariffs are on the horizon.

Sunrisian Companies To Rebuild West Zilveren Infrastructure

Image

Sunrisian companies would be handling the reconstruction of West Zilveren infrastructure after receiving such an approval from the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg. Cities would be rebuilt and upgraded, while the surviving authentic Zilveren architecture would be preserved. Also, potential close recreations might be constructed to re-capture and replicate what was lost from authentic Zilveren architecture during the war and under the neglectful tyranny in the hands of the now-ousted dictatorship of Rhul Gorm, the deceased former Supreme Leader of Zilveren Berg (united one). New architecture and infrastructure moving in a futuristic direction and with a futuristic look would only be appropriate for one of the world’s youngest countries, as was said in some statements from the companies that had placed the bid. It is not being hidden that companies from Sunrisia have received a monopoly on rebuilding and expanding the West Zilveren infrastructure.

Following the war in West Zilveren Berg, Sunrisia launched a recovery plan for what would become the State of West Zilveren Berg, after the 3-nation military coalition divided up Areas of Responsibility or Zones of Responsibility. Sunrisia was responsible for the north-west, which has today become the State of West Zilveren Berg. The recovery plan was known as – the “Fórtídâ Initiative”, since it was proposed by Sunrisia’s Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ. At that time and to this day, ACREFOR peacekeepers have been and are working on the stabilization, relief and recovery of West Zilveren Berg right there on the spot. The “Fórtídâ Initiative” initiative was launched as a boost to what the military personnel has already been doing shortly after the smoke set. The recovery plan included the re-launch of local economy so that West Zilveren Berg could develop independently through trade and international relations, but with Sunrisian backing, while it was needed. The Department of Security said that ACREFOR peacekeepers would be leaving soon and there are no current plans to keep physical Sunrisian military presence in the country, in order to keep some type of West-East power balance and parity in Corentia for the sake of tension relief. That was also the reason why Sunrisian soldiers have not been stationed in Daredland on permanent basis. Nevertheless, West Zilveren Berg would remain under Sunrisian military protection in accordance with the Security Treaty. Since then, the Sunrsian Defense Force (SDF) has developed rapid deployment mechanisms that would ensure emergency defense of allied territories. The Security Treaty serves as an alternative to MDAA membership for West Zilveren Berg because the country holds a “non-bloc” status in order not to be perceived with hostility by immediate geographical neighbors.

Since the early days of its’ statehood, West Zilveren Berg signed a Deep and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with SOWEFTA. Many members of the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic and representatives of the business community have visited West Zilveren Berg to consult and observe the evolution of an investment climate in the young state of West Zilveren Berg.

Deal with Engleberg Confirmed

It has been revealed that a deal has been reached with the Englean Kaiserreich regarding the purchase of transport planes for the Ispanzan Military. The planes chosen were Kreismacher KS-445(M5) "BuckelWal" transport aircraft. The Ispanzan government will purchase eight planes for the price of 6.4 million NSD. The transaction is set to occur at the end of December of this year.

When this paper asked the military communications correspondent if this deal was at all related to the current hostilities of Sunrisia, she said, "Lele Koa [the Ispanzan Air force] had already been looking into purchasing transport aircraft to compliment our growing fleet for the last two years. It only happened to be an unfortunate coincidence that the near completion of the review process and deal came at such a time of growing feuds between Ispanza and it's closest neighbour."

"But as a positive, these transport planes will allow for the military to better move troops between the 107 islands of the Ispanzan archipelago and further ensure the safety of the Ispanzan people as well as the millions of international tourists which come to the nation every year, from Sunrisian aggression."

In Other News:
-With the implementation of tariffs on Ispanzan goods, an emergency senate meeting was called in order to pass their own set of tariffs on Sunrisian goods. An early morning meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to vote on a total embargo of Sunrisian goods.

"Commiss Army Extended Funding Increase" passes Unitary Parliament with 327 AYE to 313 NAY

Image
The UNP voted unanimously against the bill, and so did The Communist Party.

The Unitary Parliament has voted to pass the "Commiss Army Extended Funding Increase" bill by 327 votes for YES/SI/OUI/IUS and 313 Votes for NO/NO/NON/SUI. This bill was placed in the voting cycle yesterday, and it has a lot of controversy around it, particularly of note towards the Alt Liberal party. This bill showing the weakness of the Unitary Government without a majority within the Unitary chamber. The Alternative Liberal party announced this morning that they would be letting individual members decide on which way they wished to vote according to the merit of the bill.

What was contained in it though? It set out three clear motions. There would be just under a $A 1bn increase in the annual Commiss Army budget, where the money would come from is to be decided by the Unitary government. Secondly, the Army would be cleared to, without the authorisation of the Unitary Defence Committee, strike military armament, equipment and asset deals with other countries up to a value of $A 3bn with only one deal being allowed within an eight year time span. Previously such deals had to be authorised and overseen by the Unitary Defence Committee. Thirdly, this motion would ensure that the budget would be reviewed every year and subject to increases if the Unitary Parliament agrees.

Unitary Commissioner Christina Anderson spoke to us very briefly today "The Alternative Liberal party allowed its members to vote freely on this bill, and as such it has passed the Unitary voting stage. I stress however this does not mean it is enacted just yet. A period of two weeks has been allocated to allow for the drafting of amendments to the bill, and we are also giving our members free reign on if they wish to draft one and or support an amendment tabled by other members. Thank you." Shortly after the vote, Soldurs Des celebrated "their victory" and have praised the government for working positively to make sure that Damsmar is safe.

Government officials from New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg invited to Freihat for negotiations on the launch of the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council

Image

It is popular to say that people of similar hopes or going through similar issues could or should stick together. That kind of principle is also applicable for nations. President of Daredland Franz Potesinan who is also head of the Confederal Cabinet of the Daredi Confederation has confirmed that invitations had been sent to the governments of New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg. Government officials from these two nations have been invited to come to Freihat for negotiations. The talks would be on the creation of the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council as a political alliance of three nations struggling for freedom, independence and democracy. Nations that are following in the same direction.

The Daredi government hopes that heads of state would arrive with their delegations but other top government officials in their place would be welcomed just as much. The creation of this organization has been in talks for some time between the governments of three nations on separate occasions. Talks about creating the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council first began back in Daredi Confederacy days, when the present Second Vice President of the Council of States of Daredland Calvin Aigner was Chancellor. The Daredi Confederacy already had the Hasperan Republic and the Weniges Reich painfully torn away by force and there was a government crisis in Daredland. New Vesvai’s future was uncertain because it was a self-governing territory in Vesvai but not independent. It was not known at the time if they would declare independence, stay self-governing or if Vesvai would attempt to take back control. West Zilveren Berg was still being cleaned-up and rebuilt by Sunrisia after the war. There was a bond felt between three nations aspiring liberty and justice. The talks began since but have been dragging and cast aside by other priorities for each nation.

This Freihat meeting is planned to be the launching point of the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council. This organization will have a Secretary-General as a top post that Daredland, West Zilveren Berg and New Vesvai will choose out of the officials from all three nations. Daredland, West Zilveren Berg and New Vesvai will also hold the Presidency of the Council for limited terms and it will be transferred from one nation to the other in rotation. The Daredi government will propose that the Council be headquarters in Freihat because Daredland has been the initiator of this political organization.

Department Of International Relations Addresses Exchange On Montedoran With Damsmarian Foreign Affairs Counterparts

The Montedoran region in The Seven United has been a complicated one and a challenge to the country’s stability and even unity. What is happening in Montedoran is a mixture of independence struggle and armed terrorist activities by militants. It is difficult to place a finger on the morally-correct characters in this confrontation. The Sunrisian Department of International Relations has looked at Montedoran multiple times, but has always kept it an internal affair of The Seven United. The most that was done by Sunrisian diplomats was an expression of hope for resolution of the situation on humanitarian basis and for the well-being of all people in Montedoran and the rest of The Seven United.

However, Montedoran has additionally evolved overtime into a crisis spot that might be used by the adversaries of The Seven United to destabilize the country from the inside as an alternative to a direct outside invasion that might not work out due to many risks to the aggressor. Sunrisian diplomats have recently been conversing with their counterparts in The Seven United on how the problem could be managed effectively, while the parties of this domestic problem continue moving it towards its’ domestic resolution. The Department of International Relations recently appointed Párêc Adstâtér as the Designated Diplomatic Agent (DDA) of Sunrisia for Daredland Negotiations. The mission of the Sunrisian special envoy would be to assist the Daredi government in negotiating with separatist leaderships of the Hasperan Republic and the Weniges Reich, as well as manage the problem of displaced individuals, among other things. There was an option of appointing as a similar special envoy for the Montedoran problem.

Spokesperson for the Department of International Relations Elén Spêctrá-Fâmína talked about the conclusions that were made from the talks between Sunrisian and Damsmarian diplomats and what course of action would follow:

The talented diplomats of The Seven United know the situation better and the current government of The Seven United has a policy regarding the management of this crisis. Things will be moving naturally in an appropriate pace. The status quo prevails and it remains a domestic affair of The Seven United. As neighbors, friends and allies we wish for the best outcome. On Sunrisian behalf, we will naively hope for an outcome, where murder and terrorist attacks will end, military advance will cease, the rights and wishes of the people of Montedoran will be upheld and respected.

In other news:

  • Spokesperson for the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce says Sunrisia would automatically impose an embargo on Ispanzan goods but only after the island country imposes its’ embargo first. Sunrisia would not stop export of food, water, medicine and products of humanitarian category to Ispanza, unless the Ispanzan embargo prohibits their access.

  • The Department of Security says that Sunrisia would maintain an active and increased naval presence and naval policing mission within its’ territorial waters off the southwestern coast. This posturing would remain long-term.

  • Convet passes a resolution allowing for an automatic imposition of retaliatory counter-sanctions and counter-embargoes in response to foreign sanctions.

  • Could environmentally-friendly artificial snow become a natural holiday decoration in parts of Sunrisia that do not see much snow? Can authenticity be somewhat replicated in terms of traits that people like about snow?

NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

Prime Minister Kai Placore Goes To Daredland For Negotiations

Prime Minister Kai Placore has gone to Freihat in the Daredi Confederation after receiving an invitation from the government of Daredland. PM Placore would be attending negotiations to finally launch the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council. It would be a political union of three nations. Daredland was the one to have come up with the idea and that is why PM Kai Placore will support for the Council’s headquarters to be based in Daredland. New Vesvai will also be in favor of the first Secretary General of the Council to be from Daredland and for Daredland to hold Presidency first. This would only be an appropriate way to honor the nation for its initiative.

Before leaving for Daredland New Vesvai’s Prime Minister made sure to leave MPs with a temporary farewell with a speech at the Parliament: “It is very interesting to observe how three nations that have nothing in common culturally can be so similar. New Vesvai, Daredland and West Zilveren Berg. All of our peoples have struggled to be free and now we move towards those shared ideals through struggle. It is tough to go down this road alone so it only makes sense for us to hold hands and escort each other. We shall march together. Daredland and West Zilveren Berg are our brothers in arms and our brothers in faith. I will go Daredland to let them know that New Vesvai’s people would be honored to march with them. Their success is our success. And our success is success for all of Vesvai and all Vesvaians not just our part of the island.”

The trip of PM Kai Placore would be short and to the point. After all negotiations are done and the Council is formed he would not overstay his welcome and return to New Vesvai immediately. There are a lot of issues New Vesvai’s government needs to address and handle before the officials leave for the holidays.

Chairman Shou Vedder Attends Negotiations In Freihat, Daredland On The Establishment Of The West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council

The government of West Zilveren Berg has been very reclusive since the day the State of West Zilveren Berg was proclaimed. The reclusiveness was for obvious reasons because the leadership of the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly needed all attention to be on West Zilveren Berg and to lead the country on its’ road to full post-war recovery. West Zilveren officials have not been going abroad and only travelled internally to oversee the country’s rehabilitation progress and early development after the economy had been re-launched. Chairman Shou Vedder of the Parliamentary Legislative Assembly of West Zilveren Berg has only gone abroad once and that trip was to Orentan, Sunrisia. It is where the Chairman had signed Deep and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (DCEPA) with SOWEFTA (Creperia –Sunrisia–Edereon trade bloc). This attachment to the Western Corentian economic zone has allowed for the West Zilveren economy to begin breathing again and for the first flow of foreign investment to start coming in. The West Zilveren government said it would be ready to go a step further and sign a free trade agreement with SOWEFTA to replace DCEPA, but it was decided to leave this decision up to the next government that would be elected. For now West Zilveren Berg will stick by DCEPA.

However, it appears that Chairman Shou Vedder is about to have a second trip abroad, again westwards. This time it would be to Daredland. An invitation was sent by the government of Daredland to the government of West Zilveren Berg and the government of New Vesvai. The invitation was about the attendance of negotiations in Daredland on finally launching the long-planned West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council. It would unite West Zilveren Berg, Daredland and New Vesvai into an alliance of political character. The three nations have recognized each other as heading in the same direction, having somewhat similar faith and identical ambitions. Some have had it easier than others and it would probably be difficult to argue that West Zilveren Berg had it toughest. In the end, the past is not what matters, but the future and that is why West Zilveren Berg, Daredland and New Vesvai are coming together to form this alliance. All of them are aspiring for a bright future after the pain and it is easier to achieve this by working together.

The nations already held talks on creating the Council and have gone through the process. The diplomats and government officials found time for these negotiations on the side, while all three nations remained focused on their own issues and dealing with them. This gathering in Freihat, Daredland would be the final stage since the attendees would agree on the formal launch of the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council. Chairman Shou Vedder has supported Prime Minister Kai Placore of New Vesvai in saying that the Council should indeed be headquartered in Daredland and that Daredland should have the honorary right to hold leadership in the Council’s structures for the first terms. This right should come in respect to Daredland’s initiative of creating the Council. Chairman Shou Vedder has already left for the airfield, where the private jet supplied by Sunrisia, would take the Chairman to Daredland.

Executive Chancellor David George Announces Plans for a Unitary Referendum

Image
The Executive Chancellor announced the plans for a referendum
during the 2017 campaign

A joint announcement from the Democracy Party, Christian Democrats and Popular Front today has confirmed that the election promise of a unitary referendum will be fulfilled by the government next year.

The plans for a referendum have been in the works for almost a year ever since the Democracy Party announced it in their 2017 manifesto and since the Popular Front, and later Christian Democrats, endorsed the idea of a referendum it has only gained more traction in parliament and with the public.

But what does a unitary referendum entail?

Well, government spokesmen have suggested that there are current mechanisms in place for doing such a large shift politically. Currently the central government has the power to overturn state laws and even suspend a state government directly by virtue of the royal prerogative, supporters of the unitary system often cite this and state that not much if anything would change. The term "state" would also be officially abolished and states would officially be "constituent countries" of Capsland. Leaders of the states would still be referred to as Prime Ministers however.

A shift to unitary government would also empower the National Parliament even more so. It is not clear what the government would do during the event of a transition but it is clear that once state power has been transferred to the central government it would be up to the government alone to distribute and delegate. It is expected that there would need to be cross party support for such a large constitutional change, however, thank to David George's constitutional reforms it is expected that the government will be able to fulfil and promises that become apparent with the referendum.

Foreign Minister, Samantha Curie (DP), "Disappointed" in Sunrisia's Decision to Build a 'Sea Wall'

"The Surisian decision to build a physical barrier between Ispanza and the rest of Corentia is an unfortunate one. I believe, as do my colleagues, that this decision could have been avoided and tensions not escalated. While I, and my government are quite disappointed in this decision I will not be pushing for the Executive Chancellor to condemn this act. I understand the act of building the wall is a sovereign decision of Sunrisia and as a close partner we respect that, but we cannot, in any form whatsoever support it. We remain committed to supporting Ispanzan and Correntian relations and remain open for business for both Sunrisian and Ispanzan affairs." - Samanthat Curie, (DP).

Samantha Curie has come out as disappointed in the Sunrisian decision to build a physical barrier during a press interview. It was a shock at first that the government did not join the round of condemnations that followed the Sunrisian statement however, inside sources have revealed that partners within the Lindian government are reluctant to even comment on the events happening in Corentia. This may have swayed the government from fully coming out against the Sunrisian regime.

These events draw close to the Pantorran alliance debate where public favour dwindled in the Pantorran Alliance but at the last minute the Senate managed to preserve the alliance after multiple attempts by MPs to force an end to it. Could we see the same thing repeating itself with Sunrisia and the MDAA?

Karr Vācell of HPC skeptical of allowing Creperian autonomies to have their own militaries

Opposition member Karr Vācell of conservative Homeland Party of Creperia (HPC) has expressed skepticism over autonomous territories of Creperia having their own militaries

Image

A politician from the conservative Homeland Party of Creperia (HPC) Karr Vācell has brought forth his skeptical attitude towards all four Creperian autonomies having their own militaries. He made this statement at a public political forum in one of Miraya’s universities. Mr. Vācell believes these militaries of autonomous regions may one day be used against the Creperian state if the autonomous governments are again seized by terrorists. He also raised the issue of Creperian unity because the country is fully made up of autonomous territories. Presently Creperia has four autonomies: Aurona, Faxina, Lumena and Miraya. All are recognized as the official Autonomous Communities of Creperia and hold a special status. The opposition politician promised to bring this issue up to his namesake President Karr Gaudēl and his administration. Mr. Vācell would also scald the governing coalition of Liberals and Democrats in the National Assembly. He thinks it would be in the national interests of Creperia if the Creperian National Defense Force (CNDF) is the only military for all of Creperian territories including its autonomies. Mr. Vācell wants a stronger centralization of Creperia and admitted that it would be something his HPC party do if it led the National Assembly instead of the Liberal–Democrat coalition.

The words of conservative opposition politician Karr Vācell were met with anger in Aurona, Faxina, Lumena and Miraya. There were even public protest that called for him to make an apology and for the voters of HPC to stop supporting the conservative party in elections. Supporters of HPC spoke out against what Karr Vācell had to say and claimed they would vote for alternative conservative parties in the elections from now on. The people in Aurona, Faxina, Lumena and Miraya felt that Mr. Vācell is creating an atmosphere of distrust and paranoia towards the residents of the autonomous communities and tries to pit the autonomous communities against each by creating suspicion that either one of them could the traitor of Creperia or fall victim to terrorist takeover again. Activists in the autonomous communities and common residents were polled where overwhelming majority said that they identify as both Creperian and the identity of their autonomy. This means that the residents see themselves as Creperian and Auronan, as Creperian and Faxinan, as Creperian and Lumenan, as Creperian and Mirayan. President Karr Gaudēl already had time to respond to his namesake in the conservative opposition. The President kept a diplomatic tone but did not hesitate to fire back:

”Mr. Vācell, you are not playing the vital role of the opposition that a democratic country must have. Your job as a member of the opposition is to consult or criticize the government by offering a different approach to how you would handle things. We want to hear what we are doing wrong and what policies you think we should be taking. But we expect this criticism in actual accurate issues. What you are doing is playing with fire by creating a non-existent problem and trying to solve it. Seems like you are trying to win yourself and your party some points by showing pro-activity. But the voters have clearly showed you that they see what you’re trying to do. How about focusing on something that does exist and help us out with those questions? But if you want me to answer your concern I will tell you that the militaries of the autonomous communities are still an extension of the Creperian National Defense Force and are loyal to Creperia and our united military. We have learned from historical mistakes and have taken precautions since. Neither of Creperian autonomies will ever again be overthrown and seized by terrorists. Our country will not collapse. We have grown since then and are capable to ensure this. We also have our southern neighbors as the best allies, friends and brothers that we could ask for. They will not allow us to fall again. You know the history of each autonomy and you know what path we had gone to create a diverse and harmonious society under a democratic system. These freedoms came through sacrifice. Mr. Vācell, I respect you as a politician and a man but I ask you to focus on what is actually there.”

In Other News:

  • Defense: Smaller quantities of Creperian troops help larger amounts of Sunrisian troops guard the missile defense system stationed in Creperia.

  • Diplomacy: Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikk Korsān says Creperia does not oppose the Sea Wall in Corentian south-west if it does not trespass into international waters. He also said it might be a beneficial block to the colliding economic zones under the disliked globalization.

New History Museum Opens in Gideon

Postby Vuvau » Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:23 pm

Vuvaunese history will be showcased like never before thanks to the grand opening of the Vuvau National History Museum in the city of Gideon. Although Gideon is a relatively new city (established in 1264 by renegade Maltese Knights seeking asylum) and doesn't hold the ancient tradition of Laganju, it's population of 41 million in the metro area made it a necessity to place the museum in the city.

It is here will you be able to witness ancient relics from one of the world's oldest continuous cultures. From scrolls and tapestries describing the intense mythological stories of the past to the ships that used to sail the ocean to engage in conquest, it's all here. The museum is open to those of all ages and is free admission. Here you will also be able to learn about cultural practices that are still used and implemented today such as the Nilawak Folk dance which is performed at most wedding ceremonies.

Leaders from across the world have expressed interest in coming, particularly those from Smoya, who Vuvau has engaged in a recent trade and diplomatic deal with. This step toward multi cultural understanding will be great for all people.

Massive Rise in Population Raises New Questions

Postby Vuvau » Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:43 pm

This year alone, Vuvau has welcomed 6,789,345 babies into the world which is quite alarming for the island population. Questions for the next course of action have grown quite dire. Many are afraid that space and resources will start to dwindle incredibly fast in the upcoming years. The King has yet to comment on the matter but those in the Supreme Council have taken action as their is now mandatory sexual education in all public schooling institutions as well as the administering of contraceptives in certain public spaces.

It is a miracle that the largest cities have not become overcrowded such as Gideon which in the top 5 for cities with the largest population globally. In the cities, there have been efforts to find ways to conserve space such as building upwards instead of out. Public transportation has also been taking great strides of improvement due to the demand for effective transport. Although this spike in population has promoted some positive change, such as the ushering of Gideon as a global city, it has presented nationalistic fervor like never before. Some ultra-nationalist groups such as the " Rightly Guided Acolytes" which are a zealous religious and ultra nationalist, have claimed that the only way to solve this problem would be to annex old territories of the "once glorious Vuvaunese Empire."

Recent polls have also shown that a sizable minority of people would be in favor of annexing old territories in order to ease the load on Vuvau, which is mainly just one island with a couple small sized islands surrounding it. The current king, Zweki, has remained neutral on the subject in order to appease both sides. Tensions may begin to run high and only time will tell where this situation will be headed.

Edereon fights low-level insurgency by the revived Oculus terrorist group

Image

Ederi Royal Armed Forces are engaged in combat military operations against the Oculus terrorist group in the east. Oculus is said to be active in the Ocidas autonomous region again and have overtaken it. The group attempted a number of terrorist attacks in Ocidas as a symbol of their return but hey have been foiled. Oculus is now reported to have armed militants dwelling in Ocidas and preparing for an armed seizure of cities and gaining control over them. Military experts are not doubting that Oculus will make another attempt at reaching Conordo to seize capital and overtake Ederi central government. Intelligence agencies have already uncovered several potential quarters, hideouts, semi-bases and strongholds of Oculus. The House of Representatives held an urgent meeting after the military informed the government of this information. Military operations against Oculus have been authorized to defeat the insurgency and hopefully bring the group to its final extinction. PM Céc Mustigañ has called Sunrisian President Válîd Sâlúbĕr requesting help since Sunrisia has over 9000 troops in Edereon. A request was made for intelligence assistance too whereas Edereon is efficient in the material department. Ederi intelligence agents have been taken by surprise by the resurgence of Oculus. The Edereon-based terrorist group was declared defunct and extinct but now it’s back. The intelligence agents are justifying their failure to detect Oculus by saying that they were focused on international terrorism and closed its case on investigating Oculus. It just no longer made sense to spy on a group that was thought to be no longer and focus was changed. Now the intelligence agencies are vowing to correct their mistake and aid the military in finding Oculus and taking them out for good.

Memoirs of the Ash-walkers

Postby Vuvau » Wed Dec 12, 2018 7:28 pm

The western media company The Jericho Project, has just finished filming the new documentary "Memoirs of the Ash-Walkers," which chronicles the lives of the Ash-walkers, who are a sub-group distinct from Vuvaunese culture. Reporter Shaun Ducolombier lived with the Miib tribe for several weeks, and thanks to his insight, we have gained deeper knowledge on this mysterious group.

Image
Miib tribes people recounting stories of the past

The Miib are one of the 12 tribes that comprise the Ash-Walker sub-group, who have traditionally lived a nomadic life in the Azar Palace region, which is a desolate and hostile volcanic area that is constantly covered in ash. You may ask your self, "Why on Earth would any sane person choose to live in such an inhospitable enviornment?" but their motives for living in the area are steeped in rich tradition.

The Ash-Walkers were originally part of the original group of Vuvaunese who settled the island in early pre-history. The Ash-Walkers eventually split over religious reasons, as they believe in a 4th demi-goddess, Imyra, while streamline Vuvaunese L'wah (Vuvaunese Religion) only recognizes 3 demi-gods and they are known as the "Righteous Coven." This simple disagreement has led to major disputes between the groups, because of this, the Ash-Walkers relocated themselves to the Azar Palace where they would no longer be persecuted and be able to practice their faith in peace. This all happened before the establishment of the first city-state mind you.

The tribes still miracuosly still speak the ancient Vuavunese language. It is incredibly hard for the average citizen to understand them due to the dialect's isolation and lack of loan words which the modern languages have. The Miib tribe in particular are experts in language, and have thousands upon thousands have stories about ancient history and the glory of Imyra.

The Miib tribe are also heavy pastorals. They take heavy pride in their Bamtayo's which they breed for strength so they can haul their tents over large mountains. They also utilise their steeds for intertribal combat which is often. Resources are incredibly scarce, which prompts many violent skirmishes.

Rhodeve 3rd Fleet to Rebase in Ispanza

The United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus has agreed with the government of Ispanza to move its third fleet to the Ispanan island of Lue’a in place of the Rhodeve seventh fleet currently stationed there. The island of Lue’a is home to Rhodevus’s only military base in the country and is located 200km from the Commonwealth base located on the island of Ai’na.

The Lue’a Military Base will see an additional 150 troops as well as the third fleet comprised up of 4 destroyers, 2 cruisers and 2 attack submarines.

“The United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus puts their full support behind the nation of Ispanza and its right to survive as a nation. Aside from the obvious environmental and economic effects which will come from building an ocean wall, this wall is a major action to limit Ispanzan trade, culture and success in the continent. Rhodevus condemns the actions of Sunrisia and hopes that its leaders will come to its senses.” Said Senator Seville.

Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) Launches Operation White Light Against Oculus In Edereon

LIVE BROADCAST

Image

The government of Edereon has appealed to the Sunrisian government for military aid against a resurgent terrorist organization – Oculus, active in Edereon’s eastern autonomous region of Ocidas. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr exchanged a phone call with Prime Minister Céc Mustigañ of Edereon, during which the request for military assistance was made. Sunrisia currently has 9,200 soldiers permanently stationed in Edereon, which is the second largest Sunrisian foreign contingent stationed abroad after the forces in South Baggnagia. The contingent in Edereon was noted by the Ederi side in the exchange between the 2 governments as a reminder of Sunrisian responsibilities. President Sâlúbĕr reaffirmed Sunrisian commitment to Ederi security under MDAA and a personal military defense and security relationship between the 2 neighboring countries.

Following a phone call between President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Prime Minister Céc Mustigañ of Edereon, the President assembled a special National Defense Council meeting. After the meeting, the commander-in-chief was given a go ahead to request for a mandate to the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) from the Convet of the Sunrisian Second Republic to begin an anti-terrorist military operation in Edereon against Oculus. The Convet had provided the mandate and the Sunrisian Military was now allowed to help the Ederi Military in the physical termination of the Oculus group, cleansing Edereon of terrorism and helping keep a secure situation afterwards. Later in the day, after the Convet provided a mandate to intervene in Edereon, SDF officially launched – Operation White Light.

Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ noted that Edereon and Sunrisia jointly fought Oculus before and always defeated the group in the battlefield. Intelligence cooperation kept up on consistent basis to make sure that Oculus was done and would not reappear. All these overwhelming measures by both countries made them falsely declared Oculus as an “extinct” or “defunct” terrorist group that would not reappear again. The Minister of Security said that both countries may have underestimated Oculus and has not developed mechanisms to ensure the group’s permanent extinction. There are multiple possibilities for why Oculus resurgence has happened, which include – possible failure to find all militants and their bases in Edereon, many militants possibly finding sanctuary abroad and coming back to Edereon later, communication between Oculus and other international terrorist groups, declaration of victory too early after each successful operation against Oculus, unexposed state sponsorship of terrorism that includes aid to Oculus, formation of new branches of the terrorist organization in Edereon and abroad. Minister Fórtídâ also backed up a statement by Ederi colleagues that focus is being switched from Oculus too quickly to other international terrorist organizations active around the world and also towards the cartels.

Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ stated:

“After victory is declared too quickly and focus switched elsewhere, Oculus and the likes of them are given room to breathe again and get back up. This time, in Operation White Light, we will make sure that Oculus is gone for good and left in the darkest page of history books along with other mistakes of nature. This will be the final showdown with Oculus.”

The Sunrisian side will also request for intensified and prolonged intelligence cooperation with the Ederi intelligence community to ensure that Oculus does not resurface again, this time with focus not being switched too quickly and victory not declared too early. On behalf of the Sunrisian intelligence community, the Prime Intelligence Division (PID) would be leading the fight on the intelligence front, operations in which would also be launched during Operation White Light and current fight against the Oculus insurgency in Edereon.

Desire for VU membership grows, referendum set for December 17th

Image

Back in May, a poll was sent out. The poll was a simple question: Do you think that North Rukonia should be in the Ventismar Union? As suspected, a mere 27% said yes with a 3% margin of error. This month, after the poll results were gathered on the eleventh, that number grew to a whopping 60% with the same margin of error.

Such a radical change is completely out of left field. No one really knows why this happened, but there are always theories. The most likely one is party loyalty. In September, the Rukonian Labor Party, which currently holds the most seats in Parliament, changed its stance on the VU. Before it was neutral, neither advocating for or against the VU, but suddenly the party leader started to advocate for a Rukonian membership in the union.

"When you look at the economies of VU member nations, you see them growing and a strong connection between nations. When you look at our economy, you see a declining mess. Join the Ventismar Union will help strengthen our economy, among other things. Approximately 950,000 Rukonians visit another country in Ventismar yearly. However, they are hindered by needless red tape, being slowed down at the border or airports for hours because the borders with the VU are closed. This, also hurts our own tourism industry much more, however, for the same reason. I sincerely hope that North Rukonia will change their stance on the VU"
-The Rukonian Labor Party leader, Janet Tuvildetar, when asked about the VU

The referendum is set for the 17th of December

Tulpen encourages Rukonians on joining the VU

Artwingen -- During the weekly interview with the prime minister that aired live earlier this afternoon, he publicly endorsed North Rukonia to strive for becoming a VU candidate member. Tulpen, known to be in favour of Ventismarien expansion stated that he could only see benefit in North Rukonia aligning itself with the VU and joining it when both parties were ready. He stressed the win-win situation of eventual Rukonian accession to the Union, saying that:

Rukonia is close, yet distant. Currently we have no special deals in trade, commerce, defence or movement of people. Just looking at the situation from afar, you'd think that we ignore each other - that Rukonia and Ventismar are separated by an ocean. We should work on changing that. I believe Rukonia stands to win a lot if it pursues VU membership, as it would finally get access to the Lutetian ocean ports of Lindenholt, without having to sail through the Centismar sea. Of course there'd be benefits for us as well. Rukonia has a small, yet robust economy. I believe it can keep up with us quite well, and we only stand to gain from their industry and agriculture being within our common market. Of course, it will also make transit easier from the western part of the VU to Trouvia; which is now only reachable by crossing through Rukonia. Continuous borders would be a massive boon for us, Trouvia and Rukonia.

With recent developments in North Rukonia such as the referendum of VU membership set for December 17th, the growing pro-VU attitude of the Rukonians and unofficial support from a key member of the VU, it might seem as though North Rukonia is headed to be the next member of the Union.

West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council created, also to be known as the Council of 3

The gathered government officials of Daredland, New Vesvai and West Zilveren Berg have signed a joint declaration that has announced the creation of the West Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council or the Council of 3. The declaration was signed at a summit in Freihat that was organized by the government of Daredland. On behalf of guests New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Kai Placore and West Zilveren Berg’s Chairman Shou Vedder were present with their delegations. President of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan was the primary Daredi official to represent Daredi government and host the guests. He was the one to place the signature on the declaration along with New Vesvai’s and West Zilveren Berg’s leaders. This declaration would now need to be ratified by legislatures of all three states for the Council to be founded. In Daredland’s case the National Council and the Council of States would have to ratify the declaration. The new Zilveren Berg–Daredland–New Vesvai Council or the Council of 3 would be a political alliance of the three nations on a world stage as they jointly work on their shared goals. It would additionally function as a forum on strategy.

After the signing of the declaration a press conference was held in the Confederal Palace with President Franz Potesinan, Prime Minister Kai Placore and Chairman Shou Vedder. The majority of questions were about the Council but President Franz Potesinan took the time to address the situation in Edereon after being asked about it by a journalist.

“The situation in Edereon is very important to Daredland. Edereon is one of our immediate neighbors and the Ocidas province is situated right next to Daredland. That province happens to be the main theater of this anti-terrorist struggle. Ocidas is also where most refugees, migrants and expats from Daredland flee to from the Hasperan Republic. So this situation directly and physically affects us. But other than that Edereon is also our ally and our friend. They have been the main sanctuary to our refugees and our displaced people fleeing the Hasperan Republic. Edereon has also warmly welcomed and accommodated our emigrants. So as a thank you token we want Edereon to be safe and sound too out of appreciation. Finally as an aspiring MDAA member Daredland feels a duty to help out in this situation. We believe that our Ederi and Sunrisian friends will take care of Oculus but if our help is needed, just ask. We will equally distribute our military resources to keep security of our own borders and to help out against Oculus.” – Franz Potesinan, President of the Daredi Confederation
