Sunrisia To Station A Ballistic Missile Defense System In Creperia For Northwestern Flank Reinforcement And Parity

Image

At the MDAA summit in Celstead, The Seven United, the representatives of Creperia and Sunrisia have bilaterally agreed to reinforce the northern flank of the alliance bordering another military organization – ROVAA, as well as certain countries of the Commonwealth of Rhodevus. This measure was agreed upon for the collective security and stability of the whole alliance, as well as to strengthen the bilateral defense cooperation between Creperia and Sunrisia, along with the personal security of the neighboring country.

At the summit, there were “press breaks”, where the representatives of the gathered countries could hold individual or joint news conferences and answer the journalists questions on how the summit has been going, what achievements and conclusions were made, what was still on the agenda, etc. One such press break and news conference was held by Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ, alongside Creperian representatives – President Karr Gaudēl, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikk Korsān and the Creperian counterpart of Minister Armăs Fórtídâ – Minister of National Defense Ress Fēlicit. Minister Armăs Fórtídâ and Creperian Minister Ress Fēlicit in particular spoke a lot on the strengthening of northwestern Corentia. At the press break, the gathered representatives announced that an agreement was reached for Sunrisia to station a ballistic missile defense system in Creperia, similar to the ones stationed in Lindenholt and Umbrellya on the Ventismarian continent. Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ said the following:

Creperia is situated near ROVAA member countries and member countries of the Commonwealth of Rhodevus. We cannot know the exact situation with nuclear weapons and how many weapons they might currently have in possession individually and in-between all of them. There are also islands that are under the sovereignty of ROVAA and Commonwealth countries that themselves are located either in the western hemisphere or overseas. Those islands can be easily militarized depending on the situation. Personnel and equipment can deployed there as well. Plus, Vesvai is located right next to Creperia and Vesvai is a critical point of much geopolitical uncertainty. So having taken those facts into account, Creperia is an ally that gets to feel the cold breeze or on the contrary, heat, the most. So that part of our collective defense structure needs to be additionally reinforced with defensive tech. As you know from the previous activities of MDAA, together, we have been taking efforts to reinforce the eastern flank, the country where we are all in today – The Seven United. Considering the Weniges situation and the fact that the militant-controlled separatist territory of Daredland now directly borders Caledonia, The Seven United, reinforcement of the eastern flank was definitely a priority. There is also the Englean Kaiserreich and the long border that it shares with The Seven United. We also do not specifically know how active militarily the Engleans have been in the Weniges Reich and what military posture, if any, they might have developed there. So, just like with the eastern flank, we have also now taken a closer look at the northwestern one in a similar light. Speaking specifically on Sunrisian behalf, we have 9,200 servicemen stationed in Creperia, whom President Karr Gaudēl and his people have been very accommodating towards. I thank you for that, Mr. President. And in addition to that physical presence already there, we will also station a ballistic missile defense system to have an anti-nuclear shield in that area of our common bloc and our mutual defense structure. I and Minister Fēlicit have spoken a lot about it and we will able to get it done fairly soon. We have also conversed on aerial and naval policing of the northwestern flank, specifically Creperia’s territory. Considering that our alliance does border another alliance, technically 2 to the north, it is important for us to make sure that parity remains there and in all other sensitive areas of the mutual defense structure.

The Germanic Union not banned from Daredi elections

Image
Emblem of the Germanic Union

The Interim State Council of the Daredi Confederacy has confirmed that the controversial Germanic Union (GU) would not be banned from the early national elections. This announcement was made by Interim State Council President Luca Sveriger. The decision was supported by Daredland’s temporary Government of Unity and Reasoning coalition after some debate. Not all citizens were happy to hear the news because the Germanic Union coalition includes controversial pan-Germanic and supposedly pro-Englean parties. One of the parties is the Weniges Representation Front (WRF) which many still see as the political wing of the Weniges militant terrorist group that is occupying the Weniges Reich. Other parties in the GU coalition are the Black Eagle Party (BEP) and the Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD). The latter led the government of Daredland that was deposed in the recent Flaming Revolution. The LGD party is accused of power grab attempt by many.

The participation of the GU in the election, its’ ambiguous pro-Englean leanings or maybe Englean ties, and the inclusions of a Weniges party tied to the militants, has caused a political crisis in Daredland. This has led to a prolonged period of inter-government tensions, led to the vote of no-confidence against ex-Chancellor Calvin Aigner and to the Flaming Revolution. The WCND party and like-minded parties see the GU coalition as pro-Englean pan-Germanic lobbyists, proxies and puppets. The Daredi government for the longest time was conflicted over whether the GU should be allowed to run and that left to inter-government rifts and flip-flops between attitudes towards GU. Many parties originally thought that only WRF should be banned from the election but eventually many parties supported the idea that the Weniges Reich should have its own party running for government positions in Daredland. To counter-balance the GU coalition in case of its run the Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND) and other pro-Western Corentian parties planned to form their own coalition to rival the GU. Interim Chancellor Franz Potesinan said that his party WCND would still look for allies to form a pro-Western Corentian coalition to compete against a pan-Germanic and supposedly pro-Englean GU coalition.

Interim State Council President Luca Sveriger explained that the leadership of the Weniges Reich used a fight for their rights as a justification for their secession for their armed rebellion. The leadership of the Englean Kaiserreich also backed the position and the reasoning of the Weniges side. To finally put an end to this issue the interim government has decided that all sides and all leanings should partake in the national elections so that nobody would have a reason to complain anymore over underrepresentation. Interim State Council President Luca Sveriger said that the pan-Germanic GU coalition should be allowed to run with their agenda, the WCND-initiated pro-Western Corentian coalition with their own agenda and neutral parties and coalitions with their agenda. She even said that the Hasperan Republic could send in their own party but the Hasperan leadership claims the Hasperan Republic as a separate nation that has nothing to do with what is going on inside Daredland.

“If we level the playing field and everybody is allowed to run on equal term then we will finally be able to put this debate behind us. Nobody will have any arguments left to complain that they were underrepresented and to justify more bloodshed or rebellion. Everybody will have a say and after the vote is done everybody will know that they had an equal chance to convince voters. Daredi voters will tell us with their votes if they want this nation to look westwards, eastwards, up, down or nowhere at all. Many might think that this is risqué which is why the responsibility falls on the voters to entrust their government to trustworthy groups. It will be up to you to decide who is a legitimate politician, an ultranationalist radical, a terrorist or a foreign agent. The responsibility now rests on the shoulders of the voters as it should. We cannot nurture you and tell you whom it is dangerous to consider and whom not. So realize how influential and how important your vote is. Seriously think before you make your decision.” – Luca Sveriger, Interim President of the State Council of the Daredi Confederacy

Social activists and conspiracy theorists criticized the naïve government decision to allow militant-aligned party, ultranationalists and foreign lobbyists to ‘infiltrate the government legally.’ They compared it to putting a bomb under Daredland and pointed out that the Flaming Revolution overthrew the pan-Germanists who were now allowed to run again. The opponents of the idea say that the GU and all parties in it already lost credibility with their unconstitutional power grab attempt under ex-Chancellor Friedrich Schäfer. Supporters of the idea praised that the government was no longer nurturing or putting restraints on the Daredi voters. Supporters said that the new interim Government of Unity and Reasoning was acting in the ways of a true democracy by treating the voter like an adult, making all choices available to them and putting serious responsibility into their hands. This will truly be a decisive and historic election. It will have existential meaning for the Daredi Confederacy. And that is without even mentioning the constitutional referendum that will happen concurrently with the elections. Considering what happened in the Flaming Revolution and looking at the attitude of Daredi people today, the citizens of the Confederacy appear to have pro-Western Corentian leanings in the majority.

SpongeBob SquarePants” Sees Successful Priemiere

Image

In entertainment news of this week, the new anime “SpongeBob SquarePants” has finally premiered to a successful start. The first episode of the anime aired this Sunday on TV10. It was said to be the leader in the ratings for the network that day, garnering large viewership from an audience of multiple age groups. New episodes would be arriving every Sunday evening, in case the series continues doing well in ratings and critically.

In terms of reviews, critics gave “SpongeBob SquarePants” positive reception, with many pointing out the “bizzare” premise of the series, but praising its’ ability of delivering the matter in a serious, believable and relatable way. The series was especially praised for its willingness to experiment by combining the supposedly child-friendly premise with the style of anime. Other positive reviews praised the characters, the drama, the humor, the action, the themes and the simplistic animation. However, the negative reviews for the series have taken aim at the violence, as well as the show’s misleading appearance. While the experimentation and the unusual choice in story and genre has been praised by others, that same creative choice was condemned by the negative reviews for the series. The negative reception accused “SpongeBob SquarePants” of being “misleading” by giving an appearance of a kids show, but later transitioning into violence, inappropriate language and inappropriate themes, more suitable for adult audiences. Nevertheless, the positive reception for the series outweighs the negative.

The creative team behind the series stated that their original intention was to make a more straight-forward and conventional animated series for children, but they decided to take their creation in a different direction, because of them wanting to experiment. “SpongeBob SquarePants” currently airs in Japanese and Sunrisian dubs, but translations into other languages may become a possibility, if the series goes overseas.

Republic of Eikangaard Imposes Curfew in Vaastergaad

A few days ago, a series of explosions rocked the capital city of Vaastergaad in the Republic of Eikangaard. At the time, officials declined to comment on the destruction, or the official death toll, which was recently confirmed as 34 dead and 126 injured. In light of this lack of information citizens were left to wonder exactly what had happened, leading to theories ranging from a comprehensive failure of gas mains near the capital, to a determined terrorist attack on the country's leadership. The Terrorist Attack Theory in particular has proven to be the most popular cause in the public conscious, and has led to many citizens taking to the streets demanding the government take justice for those lives lost.

Unfortunately, following an exhaustive investigation, officials have confirmed that it was indeed the case. In response, the Republic of Eikangaard has declared a mandatory curfew for all citizens in Vaastergaad, and has called in the Republican Army to assist Vaastergaad police in eforcing the curfew. The Republic has assured that this measure is for the safety and security of the city's citizens. The Republic has also assured the public that the investigation will continue in order to ascertain exactly which party is responsible for this attack. "We have a few working theories on the culpable party." Says Lead Investigator Rolbaart Muled. "Our primary suspect, in light of the increase in tensions and the event in Nentergaad earlier this month, is the Eikangaard United Socialist Republics. Rest assured that we will be working to prevent further incidents like this and bring those responsible to justice."

Congress "Shocked and Alarmed" At Sunrisia Missile Placements

Fortwel Gazette

Mitch Robins

Today, Sunrisia decided to place a "ballistic missile defense system" in Creperia, citing the fact the ROVAA and Rhodeve Commonwealth nations lay just above it. The Sunrisian government stated that the number of nuclear weapons in this nations is "unknown" and that this action is to counter the "heat" Creperia is feeling. In response to this outrageous decision, Congress issued a full press statement, expressing their shock that ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth are being considered as threats to Creperia.

The Sunrisian decision to place counter-nuclear strike capabilities in Creperia in response to the "heat" our organization has been giving them is shocking and alarming. ROVAA is not just a military alliance, it is also one that has tied the economies of Aznazia, Rhodevus, Oblaren, and Vesvei into a tightly knit market. It is an alliance that researches medicine and green energy. It is an alliance that has denounced nuclear weapons as barbaric and has gone to great lengths to destroy its nuclear weapons in protest to the violence that plagues most of Sunalaya. In fact, Aznazia and Rhodevus were two nations who have been campaigning for the destruction of nuclear stockpiles. This is because the members of ROVAA are concerned with the state of environment and of the world. The only nation not in ROVAA but is in the Rhodeve Commonwealth is Rezua. And Rezua has also been a nation that has descried violence and the use of weapons of mass destruction. The Rezuan military ordered one of their own nuclear submarines to be destroyed when it went rogue to avoid nuclear war. The Rezuan parliament and empress have also engaged in several talks that aim to strip rogue nations of nuclear capabilities.

In the past, ROVAA has not acted with hostility towards the nations of the MDAA. Claiming that the islands of Oblaren or of other ROVAA members could be "militarized easily" is a false claim. Oblaren is not a military dictatorship. Our Navy is a defensive force that acts to counter mostly drug cartels, piracy, and to patrol our seas. Our Air Force acts only in defense of ourselves in our allies. ROVAA represents a collection of free nations, with populations that detest injustice and waer. In fact, Oblarenite troops went to fight in Creperia when their government first destabilized, resulting in two hundred casualties, the highest casualties for Oblarenite soldiers in a single day since the battles of the Second Global War. Oblaren has not acted against the safety of the Creperian people before or since then. This sudden missile installation is not only alarming, it is concerning. This action can only be understood as a a sudden act of aggression against Oblaren and the ROVAA. And one that is undeserving. Nor can the Rezuan Empire be used as an excuse here either. Empress Ymira has chosen to respect the nations of ROVAA by sending a small peace keeping force to the Sorilette Isles. They have not armed it with nuclear weapons, with more than two littoral warships, or with anymore than one thousand Rezuan troops. Most of the Isles military is made up of locals, which was already in place during the time Rhodevus held the Isles. The Rezuans have attempted to respect their new neighbors, and have eased our concerns of their so-called militant nature.

We would like to ensure the governments of Creperia and Sunrisia that the MDAA does not need to fear ROVAA or the Rhodeve Commonwealth. Our people love freedom, peace, and equality. We respect the MDAA, and have not moved to militarize our seas or our coasts that face the nations of the MDAA. Please reconsider the placement of these ballistic missiles, consider the good will we have shown your people. These missiles only serve to create future misunderstandings between our alliances, which is something that no one wants.

News from Librira, Corentia and the World

Advisory team to be dispatched to EUSR

Libra
As part of its commitment to assist fellow socialist nations, the Libriran government announced it would be forming a special advisory team from the Secretariat of Oversight and Statistics, to assist in the nascent elections in the EUSR, particularly in helping form and organize the Institutions that will be running it this year and years to come. "its important to get it right so that the country's people can choose their leaders quicky, safely, and fairly, so that it can be prosperous" said Feodosia Kolanin, a member of the team, also pointing out countries with poor elections management, are typically unstable and prone to failure. The Team will be in the country in the run-up through the elections to provide as much assistance as possible, as well as to ensure the systems that they will help build will survive the election day pressure.
The team consists of the following people;
Team Leader; Boris Solandorov

Feodosia Kolanin

Petra Notansk

Gregori Wanslavil

Yuri Vandrov

Vladimir Yuranovich

Svetlana Gramich

Premierski Vladimir Letski called the team "an excellent opportunity to create new ties with our comrades in arms as well as to assist them through a sometimes difficult formative process". The choice to send the advisory team was met with near unanimous support in the People's Congression, with only two dissenters, who thought it un-necessary. At the moment, since the elections were just announced, it unknown what the ballot will look like, or what parties will be involved, but its expected there will be several socialist parties, which maybe able to form a strong coalition to govern the country. The Government has stressed that this move is not an attempt to influence the elections, and will recognize their end result regardless of the party that wins. The Government of Librira has thus far been supportive of nearly all the moves the EUSR has made, particularly concerning is own internal organization, and its expected that will not change even after the election.

Public-Access TV Cooking Show Promotional Clip Goes Viral After Causing Confusion

Image

An opening/promotional clip for an unnamed cooking show currently in production for public access television, has gone viral after having caused controversy and anecdotal confusion. The cooking show currently undergoing production is not yet named and has a number of working titles. It is hosted by Chef A.H. who is originally from Ventismar. The scandal revolves around a supposed opening of the cooking show, which aired on public access television as a promo for the series from Chef A.H. The roughly edited product made viewers that witnessed the clip, to speculate that that the production footage has gotten into the wrong hands and was edited in an unusual way on purpose, so that the reputation of Chef A.H. would affected negatively. The clip that aired features a sequence of unusual cuts and edits, out of place music, unusual zooms, sound effects, vocal pitch shift, as well as other unusual editing techniques. The editing style for the clip gave it a frightening and almost psychotic tone. After being broadcast on public access television, it did not take long for the footage of the clip to uploaded online and going viral soon after.

Apart from the comedic side of what many people viewed as a result of editing sabotage or the footage getting into wrong hands, additional fascination with the video was generated because of all the theories that began appearing on what may have happened. The station that aired the clip did not address the issue, despite the controversy and the clip going viral. It did not take long for Chef A.H. to actually address the controversy, where he surprisingly admitted that there was no mystery or accident here. The clip of his unaired show was not stolen and purposefully added in such a fashion by any pranksters or individuals wishing to sabotage his work or affect his reputation. The Chef claims that this was a purposeful editing test for a potential opening for his cooking show that he decided to share with the public as a promo clip. Chef A.H. said that he wanted to create something an unusual and of “troll quality”, influenced by contemporary internet culture to make the show more relatable and garner more attention. Therefore, according to the man himself, there is no mystery here. This was a stunt made on purpose.

Nevertheless, many claim that what Chef A.H. is saying is just a cover-up for an actual behind-the-scenes conflict that might have happened with the production team or the editing crew, who decided to use this unusual method of revenge. Chef A.H. is simply trying to make it seem like it was all pre-planned. Others say that “no publicity is bad publicity” and that Chef A.H. staged this so that his show could garner more attention. Although an unusual PR choice, it has worked for the Chef and people have been talking about the public access television show more so than they probably would have. An accident or a genius PR stunt? We do not yet know for sure.

Troops still in Ocidas, Eastern Edereon at present moment

Ederi delegation at the MDAA summit revealed that the soldiers of the Ederi Royal Armed Forces are still stationed in the nation’s east. They were originally sent to the eastern Ederi autonomy of Ocidas because of the situation in nearby Daredland. Ederi troops regularly operate in Ocidas because the defunct terrorist group Oculus was active there and because of the large flow of refugees from Hasperan Republic and migrants from Daredland. It is an unstable are of the Kingdom so the military had often been stationed there to keep order. No permanent stationing has ever been placed in Ocidas but the Ederi Royal Armed Forces always made sure to keep at least a small contingent in the nation’s east on rotational basis. The number of troops was increased and they were put on alert when the crisis in Daredland was escalating and nobody knew what was going to happen next. The situation in Daredland now appears to be stable. Yet Minister of State for Defense Fída Pãtriclér confirmed at the MDAA summit that the troops were not yet given an order to withdraw. They might still stay there because of an increased interest in the nearby Hasperan Republic by Belantica and because Edereon plans anti-terrorist training exercises with Sunrisia in the Ocidas autonomous region.

Unfinished Footage Of Unproduced Animated Movie – “Huge Quest!” Leaked By Creators

Image

Some time has passed since the cancellation of a mysterious animated black comedy produced by Psychedelia Studios titled – the “Huge Quest!”. Even though the creative team scrapped the project mid-way into production and moved onto other creations and projects, the curious fan base was not left without anything. A plot abstract was published online by the creators themselves. Some time later, the screenplay, designs and concept art was leaked as well. However, several days ago, the creative team, with the permission from the Psychedelia Studios, decided to leak the incomplete footage of the unproduced animated film, which also includes elements of incomplete “proof of concept” footage. This let the fans of the creators see what may have been.

The experimental black comedy was intended to be a short film at first, but the creators and the studio decided to go for a feature-length motion picture, with the story of the original short film being extended. There were also plans for a trilogy, in case the “Huge Quest!” would have done well, as well as for an animated television series. Although the “Huge Quest!” has been scrapped for now, the creative team is hinting that the film might still be produced if there is interest in it. Psychedelia Studios currently owns the rights, but in case they are not interested in the project and do not decide to make the film, the rights for the “Huge Quest!” could be sold off to another studio that would allow the creative team to make the film.

While the “Huge Quest!” remains on a shelf, the creative team is said to be producing another animated feature for Psychedelia Studios. No plot, name, characters, casting or anything is known yet. The creators have only said that they have been “kicking the can, playing with some ideas in the mind.” In case their alternative animated film is a success, Psychedelia Studios might offer the creators a several-picture deal. Who knows, if everything goes successfully, maybe the Psychedelia Studios will decide to pick the “Huge Quest!” up from the shelf and go forth with it anyway? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, apart from already developing one animated film for Psychedelia Studios, the creators also said that they would interesting in experimenting with a creation of a shared universe of animated films, with different movies set in the same world, sharing continuity and crossing over. In case they sign on with Psychedelia Studios for a several-picture deal, it might become a reality. Maybe the film that the creators are developing now could be a launching point for such a shared universe and maybe the “Huge Quest!” might be integrated into this hypothetical shared world somehow, in case Psychedelia Studios resurrects the project.

The Daily Tribute
Government Lays Down Demands On Daredland ans Haspera
Yesterday during a press conference at the East Corentian Convention, officials of the United Queendoms made an announcement regarding affairs between Daredland, Haspera, and Belantica itself. The premise of this announcement is to encourage appropriate action on how to handle the potential independence of the HR from Daredland without causing tremendous amounts of political and economic backlash. The demands, as they are being called, are meant to prevent a major conflict and to provide a framework for the Daredi and Hasperan officials to handle the question of whether or not Haspera is a sovereign state. The Weniges Republic, on the other hand, was not a major concern for the Belantic government, and was not mentioned much. Many believe this is out of the norm for the United Queendoms to make such demands, but with a heated crisis close of her lands, it is seen as reasonable.

Demands placed in Daredland as follows:
-Daredland, while electing its interim government, shall hold a referendum for the potential Independence of Haspera from Daredland
-If the HR, with or without referendum, legally seperates from Daredland, that the latter government shall recognized the HR is an independent state
-Daredland must recognize Belantic interests in the region, and understand its concerns of national and economic security
-Daredland cannot encourage those living in the region where the HR claims sovereignty to vote one way or another
-If the HR becomes independent, that Daredland must remove military prescense from the HR's territory, not doing so should be seen as an act of occupation
-If independent, Daredland cannot interfere with coastal shipping going to and from the HR
-Daredland is expected to continue relations with the United Queendoms and establish relations with the HR if independent, in efforts to preserve peace and cooperation. Failing to do so will categorize Daredland as a rouge state, and the United Queendoms will treat it as such

Demands placed on the Hasperan Republic as follows:
-Officials in Haspera MUST allow to local elections, AND must allow for those living within its claims to vote in the independence referendum
-Whether it declares independence or the referendum passes, the HR should begin to establish its own separate relations with the United Queendoms, The Englean Kaiserriech, Daredland, and other nations in Corentia
-The HR must cease to infringe on protesters and activists
-The HR must show signs that they will support fair elections within their claims
-The HR should meet with Belantic officials, if independent, to begin structuring a central government for a new state
-The HR, if independent, is encouraged to allow for Belantic officials to help create government offices, a military for defense, and jumpstart economic activities
-The HR must not act aggressively towards Daredland or the WR if independent, showing signs of aggression will cause the United Queendoms to reconsider support

Furthermore, Her Majesty made a short speech afterwards, stressing the importance of the strengthening of the United Queendoms as an important global player. It highlighted the crisis in Daredland, in addition to national interests of wanting to expand influence around the world.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it has come to my attention that as the world continues on, that our position in this world is being slowly chipped away by other powers, and upsetting the balance of power. For the United Queendoms, I feel that our prolonged periods of being apathetic towards international incidents occurring has left us in a position that if we do not take a firmer stand to what we believe and what our interests worldwide are, then we'll be left behind and slowly eroded by other nations that wish to impose their ideals and their way of life on us. Let it be known, that as the monarch of this proud, diverse, and culturally rich nation, I will not allow our own way of life to be ran down by foreigners wishing to change our nation into their puppet. Our history is renowned for standing up for what we believe in, and resisting outsiders from controlling our destinies. But now, it is time for us to make the world understand that Belantica is one of the greatest nations in the world, and that we need to insert our own influence and our own ideals to others, much like how certain powers try to do with other nations, except our method isn't flat-out intimidation that some like to do with missile batteries and dropping troops over every inch of land they see. *chuckling in audience*. I might have just turned 32, which makes me young in comparison to other leaders around the world, but the youth is where all the better ideas seem to come to fruition. Ad for the Daredi Crisis, I'm sure that my government has sent forth a platform for them to build off of, and stay in good terms with the United Queendoms. May we continue pushing forward!"

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân Talks About Sunrisia’s Neo-Isolationist Ideology

Image

Journalist:Good evening. In light of an unusual amount of active foreign diplomatic visits by Sunrisian officials, both that have taken place and are yet to take place, as well as more diplomatic exchanges in general, we have decided to have a conversation about Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance. I have here, in the studio, the Member of the Sunrisian Convet – Sálût Érátân. My guest is a Conservative, and we are going to have a little bit of a discussion on the ideologies of the Second Republic. Mr. Érátân, thank you so much for being here this evening, sir.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:My pleasure. It is good to see you. This coffee is so good.

Journalist:And it is good to see you as well. Now, you are a Conservative. Your party is currently in the opposition at the Convet, because it does not belong to the majority-holding Justice Coalition of Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance that has won the elections to the Convet, correct? A coalition that, by the way, also includes the President’s Centro-Unionist party.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:That is correct. Indeed.

Journalist:And yet you support our country’s ideology of Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance. In fact, some may describe you as not even a Neo-Isolationist, but a classical Isolationist. You have spoken in favor, not that long ago, of going truly old-fashion with the Isolationism. Or maybe vintage and classical would be better terms for it. You proposed cutting us off from the world completely, closing the borders, restrict travel in and out, limit diplomatic entanglements and trade, if not sever it completely, as well as a lot of other things. Former President Dêc Grétân said that he sees your point, but he did not fully support it, because of the question of individual rights, more government intervention into people’s lives, as well as physical inability for a country to completely not trade these days.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:That is correct as well. I and the former President indeed differed on that, but we were not completely on opposite sides of the spectrum.

Journalist:Have you changed your mind since?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:I have become more flexible since and I see the point in the counter-arguments, but I have not changed my mind completely, no. Other members of the party and social movements supporting us have not either.

Journalist:So you think a hardcore classical Isolationism from the Middle Ages, without trade, travel or any contact with the outside world, might actually work today? In fact, sounds like you proposed an ever stricter version of that.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:A concept model would still need to be finished and developed. There is definitely work to do, but I think it can be realized.

Journalist:So your different approaches, as a classical Isolationist against Neo-Isolationists, is basically one of the reasons why you have not joined the current majority coalition before the election, correct?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:That was the factor, as well as the differences in domestic politics that we, the Conservatives, have with the President’s Centro-Unionists and other parties in the current governing coalition. From an ideological perspective, classical Isolationists and classical Nationalists think that Neo-Isolationists and contemporary Nationalists, who are in the government, are too flexible and too afraid to go all the way. They are indecisive in our eyes. But it’s a hundred times better than what the First Republic was getting into in its’ final years. That was too open.

Journalist:Now, the tendencies and ideologies of Neo-Isolationism or classical Isolationism are not out of place in Sunrisia. We have a history of being a hermit country. We only kept up reasonable trade and engaged with the outside world, when we had our doctors, teachers and early humanitarians go and help development or heal wounds of war or natural disasters. Our troops were active in peacekeeping before it became as mainstream as it is in the modern world. We never had crusaders or missionaries, which is why our religions are exclusive to our land. We kept everyone out, so our culture has remained unique and uninfluenced. Would you list some differences between Neo-Isolationism and classical Isolationism, in case there are foreign viewers watching this?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Neo-Isolationism basically supports minimalism in foreign contact, whereas classical Isolationism, the hardcore one that I support, has often gone in the direction of no foreign contact. Sunrisia has had those historical periods as well. Under Neo-Isolationism, the Sunrisian Second Republic keeps up minimalist and preferred entanglements with a select number of like-minded countries. Preferably as reclusive as ourselves. What makes them like-minded? Well, that is a different question. Each case is individual. We still keep up regular trade with the majority of world countries, but we only have economic deals with a select few. We are not big fans of globalism and multilateralism, so we keep it to a minimum. We are not in the USA, and the only foreign organizations we participate in are SOWEFTA and MDAA. One is for trade and the other for defense, both localized entirely in our part of the world. We lean towards bilateralism and that is the approach we take with the Western Ventismarian countries, for example.

Journalist:Are we still too open or too communicative for your taste?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:You know it. *Laughs*

Journalist:The Neo-Isolationist ideology is exclusive to Sunrisia, but do you think that generic Isolationist tendencies are trendy in Western Corentia or Corentia overall.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:I definitely see it in other countries as well, although you can’t really blame Corentia, considering that the colonists tried to frequently invade this continent and spread their empires here, similar to how cancer takes over an organism and destroys it. So obviously the trend for Corentian tribes, nations or civilizations building a protective wall around themselves, has evolved as a defense mechanism in part. But many Corentian inhabitants, whether natives or settlers, were wary of each other as well. Nobody on this continent liked to mix that much in any way. For some contemporary Corentian states it is in the culture and it is an ancient tradition of civilization protection, like for us. I would say it is one the things that is enrooted in us and is in our blood.

Journalist:Did coming out of our shell, influence the eventual coup in Sunrisia that ended the First Republic and broke us up into North and South.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:It did not influence the coup, but it was the main reason for the coup.

Journalist:Who would you say was more right in that situation – the government or the rebels that staged the coup?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:The rebels were in the right and the Absolute Democracy of Sunrisia was a new beginning for this nation. But the theocratic and authoritarian elements were not needed. When the break-up happened, all sides sucked because both sold out to opposing power blocs. It was a good day when revolutions happened in both sides, both were dissolved and a new Sunrisian state was born on their rotten ashes.

Journalist:Would you say some countries are too open or too closed, including Sunrisia?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:No country is too closed for me, for people who think like me and for our ancestors. But a lot are definitely too open.

Journalist:But would you rather have an iron curtain around Sunrisian borders or would you also prefer some sort of a paradoxical exclusive club of reclusive countries that put a joint iron curtain around themselves, where they all hide together? Are you familiar with the phrase – “Alone Together”.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:I am familiar with that phrase. Neo-Isolationists would not be able to make your hypothetical suggestion a reality. Classical Isolationists would obviously say that we should just close our own borders and put an iron curtain around ourselves. In fact, we only have the right to that and only that, because you should not expect other countries to join you behind the iron curtain. “Alone Together” is a paradox and self-contradictory. I mean, it has too antonyms combined into the same phrase for crying out loud. Some countries tried to make something similar to “Alone Together” a reality during past geopolitical confrontations between power blocs, but everybody goes sideways eventually. You cannot expect countries to be permanently married to each other.

Journalist:So what would you suggest?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Only put an iron curtain around Sunrisia and forget everybody else.

Journalist:Sounds to me like there is a country in today’s world that has managed to achieve what you are looking for, but that country is not in Corentia. I am talking about Dirkhizistan. They successfully isolated themselves after a coup. Some of that isolation was intentional, other was outside, generated by the sanctions. It is now a dictatorship with fundamentalists in power. We have placed sanctions on them and our government was told to have conspired against the current Dirkhiz regime, but the Sunrisian Prime Intelligence Division has unsurprisingly denied that. The Dirkhiz regime placed bans on a lot of things coming from the outside and put restrictions on their own people to limit their interaction with the outside. We saw that as human rights abuses and that is why we now stand against them. Any comment on that?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:The current regime in Dirkhizistan did everything completely backwards and they introduced fundamentalist elements and totalitarian elements. That is the same mistake that the Absolute Democracy committed. Neither today’s Dirkhizistan nor the Absolute Democracy of Sunrisia should be looked at as examples, if you were hinting towards that. There was a time when we managed to remain withdrawn from the world without harming ourselves with restrictions. Our ancestors and past leaders did not even consider self-harm or enforced self-restriction. Isolationism was a positive and liberating choice. A protective dome and not a prison.

Journalist:From the topic of sanctions in reaction to injustices abroad, I would like to jump onto the following point. What about our humanitarianism around the world? We distribute humanitarian aid, we currently have an ongoing peacekeeping and clean-up mission in West Zilveren Berg. If we leave the world even more than we have already, we also stop helping the world. Is that not indifferent or cynical or both?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:There was a time when we managed it. Shows you the genius of our ancestors.

Journalist:But it would not work today. The globalists made sure of that. And globalization can be beaten, but it will not happen overnight and it’s a long road.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Okay, maybe we could make some kind of an exception in the humanitarian area and keep trade to a level that generates resources for ourselves and four our humanitarian help which would then go out to those in need. We will not be able to produce everything out there out of thin air.

Journalist:You see? You went in a flexible direction again. And it’s not my goal to take you there. I am just saying that with these changes or exceptions, it would no longer be hardcore Isolationism that you advocate.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:And that is exactly why I told you that some work needs to be done with realizing this concept. We only have something a bit more than an outline.

Journalist:Would you say that Isolationism leads to xenophobia.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Not always. It hasn’t happened to us. I see the term of xenophobia as hatred for foreigners, whereas we don’t really think about foreigners. To put it less-diplomatically and probably slightly in a rude way, we don’t care that much for them. We are positively self-centered in that way, while managing to keep respectable humbleness in the social context as individuals.

Journalist:But wouldn’t that be passive-aggressive xenophobia? And wouldn’t that contradict with our goal of humanitarianism, if we don’t care for people in other countries?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:I think passive-aggressive xenophobia is not really that scary. As for your second point, you might be right. We can help people if we notice terrible things happening outside, but we do not care for having guests in our house. If a tourist comes, we will make them comfortable and hopefully fill them with positive energy that they would take back home, but we won’t go out of our way to actively reach out to anybody.

Journalist:I guess the people in our tourism industry have simply been lucky without trying much, huh?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Correct.

Journalist:As a people, we do have some reclusiveness in us, including politicians. Would you say that we have been engaging with other countries too much recently? It is only a handful, but for us it’s a lot. Other MDAA countries, Western Ventismarian countries. We even had Anît Iûnctén, the Executive of the Agency for Special Contacts Policy (ASCP), go to the Englean Kaiserreich as a Sunrisian envoy some time back and there was also a phone call between the previous President and the Belantic Queen. Why the sudden jump out of our comfort zone and our introvert diplomacy?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Good question. Many of us think it’s too much and we should pull back. At the same time, these engagements were on more urgent military-related topics, so we had to do it. Lives depended on them as well and not just our people’s lives. Other than those kinds of instance, it’s better being alone.

Journalist:So do you think our government will approach partner countries to be “Alone Together” with us? Will we have the latest addition of some type of an iron curtain, with an exit door for our partner countries, that are more open than us and want to peak out?

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:I don’t think the government will and I don’t think we should think about something like that. Our current partner states should have the right to interact with the world, if they want to. We should be focusing on an iron curtain around us only and we should only interact with the outside world to carry out humanitarian tasks, help those suffering and save innocent lives in outside lands.

Journalist:Mr. Érátân, despite my ironic tone in some parts of our conversation, I actually agree with you more than you might think. Thank you so much for being here and we look forward to seeing you on our program again.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:Thank you so much for having me. I wish you a tremendous TV season and as soon as you want to chat again, just let me know. And no need to worry about the tone, because I appreciate a little debate and challenge to my position. I appreciated it when the former President did it, when you do it and if the citizens do so as well.

Journalist:Have a wonderful and calm evening.

Member of the Convet Sálût Érátân:And you as well.

Journalist:We’ll be right back.

Herza Novi-Nordmelingar dual carriageway money found out to be illegally sourced, six leading civil servants arrested // Christina Anderson makes short statement in front of Unitary Parliament regarding the demands sent by Belantica

In a monthly audit in July, four hundred million Argents was "found" in a safe fund within the central government. The large sum of money was seemingly untouched for twenty years with not a single eyelid batted to the huge amount of cash placed in the account sitting dormant within a central bank vault. The Unitary Policing Commission and Committee launched an investigation into why such amount of money was not found earlier, or worse, why it was stored for such a long period of time. The investigation has finally published its reports, and its damning against the Montedoran civil service.

According to the report and investigation, the money in fact only entered the Damsmarian central bank (DCB) on the fifth of June 2018, just after the June monthly audit. One of the leading civil servants in the Montedoran Alonso Mihelgo (Head of Montedoran Financial Audit Office) had payed off two central bank figures (Martin Furd, Security Head) (Gerhard Schneider, one of numerous central bank affiliates working with government) so that they would not ask for permission to lodge the money within the central bank. On the day of the fifth, numerous CERBER protected shipments of money had entered the bank with some of the money being converted into gold bars as to prevent overcrowding within the allocated vault. According to the investigation, Alonso Mihelgo had been siphoning money off numerous government expenditures to get the four hundred million, by filing fake documents to the central government requesting funds for special projects which were ongoing, even though these projects had not existed. On several occasions Alonso was questioned for the excessive use of the Article 30 document (allowing him to request funds for ongoing infrastructure/schooling/special projects) and on each occasion he was not charged and no official investigation was filed, an extra corruption case is ongoing for why this did not happen.

He did not just acquire four hundred million Argents from Article 30, Alonso also worked with numerous cartels and had promised to protect their money by hiding it with "official money", this way they can not be confiscated and are completely protected by CERBER. Before this investigation, Alonso had stored over two hundred million in cash all together in central banks, earmarking it as money in transit to The Montedoran. Official documents filed by Alonso show that while these shipments of money were protected on the way in, they were not on the way out. Their final destination was the Herza Novi main bank, although on all occasions they did not arrive at the destination. It is presumed the convoy was stopped and the money was given to the cartels when they asked for it to be withdrawn.

Alonso Mihelgo has now been arrested and is currently being prosecuted for Corruption in Office, Bribery, Graft and other charges which become too numerous to mention. The Montedoran civil service has apologised extensively on behalf of all of its staff, and they are working with the Unitary Policing Commission to conduct a top to bottom root-out of corruption within the offices dotted along Damsmar. How this has been going on for so long is unknown, and why our own local government is so easily flexible is also another mystery.

Due to the political situation in Corentia, the Unitary Commissioner Christina Anderson was unable to comment on the case. Instead she has been addressing the Unitary Parliament today which has sat in nearly full attendance, with all eyes on Andersons response to the demands put towards Daredland by Belantica. Speaking to parliament.

"Members of Unitary Parliament. In these times of political and economic uncertainty, it is important that we continue to keep this full attendance that we are seeing today. All parties must work together to defend the interests of The Seven United and to maintain the security of our peoples and the security of the country. Speaking of security and interests, we have to speak about Daredland. Our neighbour Daredland has just went through rapid change within the past few weeks, and this change has came with the aforementioned uncertainty and destabilisation of the region. If we want to truly enforce lasting peace in Daredland we must let the Daredi people decide in the fate they want, and I believe that the new interim government will do what is best for the people of Daredland. I don't believe it is right that foreign nations like Belantica or Engleberg believe they are able to dictate what happens in the Confederacy, in fact I think it is shamefully wrong. The Seven United has remained steadfast in our pursuit for lasting democracy and peace within Daredland, and to do this you must let the people of Daredland decide their fate, not the people of Engleberg or the people of Belantica.

It isn't right that Belantica or Engleberg go against the interests of the Daredi people in pursuit of their legitimacy and power within Corentia. We've seen all too much within our history what can go wrong when foreigners attempt to meddle or take over other independent and sovereign nations, so I plead with Belantica and Queen Karen that this hardball tactic is dropped before the situation worsens. The country is only just getting to grips with the chaos that the last government had left with, to barrage them with demands is nothing but imperialistic. Members of Unitary Parliament, I plead that you join me in delivering this statement unanimously to the people of Damsmar and Corentia, to show some national unity for once. I commend this statement to parliament."

The Commissioners statement has been met with general positivity, however some have criticised for being too weak on Belantica or Engleberg, of whom have both been meeting in an Eastern Corentia summit. The fact that there even is an E. Corentian Summit shows the division and tension which has grown within the continent. Commiss Army CoS Nicolas Fernandez is expected to remain quiet on the issue this time.

Ispanza to Join International Meeting with Engleberg

It was recently announced that Ispanza will be sending a representative to the Englean Kaiserreich for their large multi-national meeting. In this meeting, topics will mainly include those concerning the economy as well as smaller matters regarding each individual nation. The Ispanzan government is hoping that this conference will help increase trade between itself and other international markets aside from those in the Commonwealth. When asked about trade with countries in the MDAA or Sunrisia itself, Prime Minister Harold Saunders said,

Sunrisia as a country would be the first choice market for Ispanzans. It honestly should be. Sunrisia is the closest nation to Ispanza which would help get more products to market as well as bring new products into our markets. The greatest problem with making this a reality is Sunrisia itself. Sunrisia has for some mystical reason linked the Commonwealth with 'offensive military pact' or 'anti-Sunrisia pact', and due to this, places a great deal of mistrust on Ispanza for being a member. Would we trade Commonwealth membership for Sunrisian trade? No, not at all.

This unfortunate association in the minds of those in power in Sunrisia has led to much harsher trade barriers between our countries, which in the end makes it no longer worth it to actually export to the country. And so, this means we will continue to look for trade partners elsewhere. Such as Engleberg and the others attending this conference.

In other news:
-Eubatu will be at the Berlin Conference as well

At least they agree on something (kind of): Daredi Confederacy and the Hasperan Republic reject meddling by Belantica

Image

The interim central government of the Daredi Confederacy and the separatist leadership of the Hasperan Republic have met half-way. But it was not on diplomatic progress between the two. The Daredi interim government and the Hasperan separatist leadership have both rejected demands issued by Belantican officials at the East Corentian Convention that paralleled an MDAA summit. Both leaderships suspected the UQs of condescending intentions and it was virtually impossible to think otherwise after a follow-up speech by the Queen of Belantica. The Daredi government was more restrained but the Hasperan leadership went further with the backlash.

“We should be doing more important things here at the State Council since we are in a post-revolutionary transition here. But we can’t right now. I can’t believe I am talking about this again and yet here we are. Our personal space as a nation is being intrusively violated. We have the Engleans appropriating the Weniges Reich and now we have the Belanticans making it seem like they are trying to get their own very first vassal state. Such language might sound undiplomatic but you can listen yourself to ‘the demands’ to Daredland and the Hasperan Republic which emphasizes the role of Belantica here. We hear Belantican interests being mentioned, the role of Belantica in the Hasperan Republic if it were become a legit state. You can listen to the Queen’s speech about increasing UQ’s role in the world and building a sphere of influence. It’s right in our faces. Do you still have any doubt left on what this is all about? And who gave the right to UQs to make ‘Demands’ towards the Daredi Confederacy? We made our demands and gave our warning to Belantica because we talked about Daredland’s internal affairs and our problems with our separatist territories. Belantica made demands on what we should all do within our nation. What changes to make, what political process to have. Can you feel the difference here between what we did and they did?

So yeah. The Hasperan Republic looks like appetizing candidate for a vassal to someone. They tried it with WZB but it was less obvious. They failed so now they went to the next best thing. That’s quite brave. The Hasperan issue has already been difficult but we were grateful to our luck that there was no foreign intrusion there. The Weniges Reich was hurting more out of the two wounds we have. And I am not referring to the people living in those territories. I am talking about those separatists that hurt Daredland as a whole and the inhabitants of those territories separately. The Hasperan Republic has been less painful by comparison and the Belanticans are now trying to make it hurt as much as the Weniges Reich. Imagine what a wonderful situation we may have. Engleans in WR, Belanticans in HR, and us in the middle. That really sounds appealing. Two East Corentian nations very possibly colluding and having a joint conference right now. And those two precious neighbors of ours would be surrounding Daredland from both sides. Us here, we know why that is. They don’t like the trajectory Daredland is going in and that’s understandable. But this is an admirable attempt to sucker us into being surrounded by two nations that we had questionable relations with. The Englean Kaiserreich is presently an outright adversary but Belantica has been more ambiguous. In the past couple of days they have been moving in the darker direction too.

But to approach this issue from a political side. We have the State Ministry of Reintegration and Reconciliation. It was created specifically to handle our separatist problem diplomatically and to help displaced persons. When the majority of the Hasperan autonomy first broke away as a Hasperan Republic of course there were problems. We said that it was illegal because there was no vote. The Hasperan leadership had their arguments against us. It has been an ongoing problem. There were violations of people’s freedoms in the Hasperan Republic. But there was one key advantage in the Hasperan problem. There was no military engagement and has not been since. There were vocal arguments but nothing more. There were no new developments. The newest thing to come out of the Hasperan Republic was the separatist reaction to the Flaming Revolution. And it was obvious that it was going to happen because it was a historic moment for the whole Confederacy. The majority of Daredis were celebrating, the Weniges militants started shooting, the Hasperan officials expressed their unsure point of view. But the point is that all has been quiet on the Hasperan front. Why are you trying to shake things up? Why are you talking in advance about what you are going to do in the Hasperan Republic? Why are you issuing demands to us about our internal affairs and how our borders could be changed? Who are you?

The current Hasperan leadership is illegal and we’re not going to engage in direct talks with them on such a level. That would already give them legitimacy. There are rules on how you engage in dialogue with such types of political forces. We have special diplomatic channels created for that. It is not the same as one government talking to another. The rules are different. We already have a State Ministry handling this situation according to appropriate rules.

There is so much wrong with this proposal that I don’t even know how to unravel it appropriately. Let’s just take a deep breath, calm down and get back to today’s agenda. You all heard it yourselves. They have interests here and they want a sphere of influence. We must be cautious.” – Luca Sveriger, Interim President of the State Council of the Daredi Confederacy

The Hasperan leadership was not pleased either.

[Spoken in Hasperan]: “We have not been ignoring and we have taken interest since Belanticans started talking about us. We were curious to hear what they want and we wish we hadn’t. An EAST Corentian landmass in the ocean will be lecturing and making demands towards the glorious WEST Corentian Hasperan nation?! Belanticans will be teaching Hasperans democratic principles and about fair voting? That is hilarious. A bird will be teaching a fish how to swim. We don’t need these games. We have already declared independence. We are free today and that’s final. We will never submit to any process that will allow some foreign party to spread influence here more freely. Especially if that process is offered by East Corentians whom we were always revolted by. We have nothing in common with them. Look at their cultures. They hailed from outside settlers even if they won’t admit it. We are the true natives to this continent.

It is painful for us to talk about it but we so hoped for support from our West Corentian brethren. We fled inevitable annexation of Daredland by the Englean Kaiserreich. It is still definetely going to happen in the future. Trust us on that. We fled by declaring independence from a failed state that was Daredland. We looked westwards for support. We looked at West Corentian brothers. We were sure that MDAA would act up on their values and recognize our rightful choice of freedom and independence. But they chose to support the failing state of Daredland instead and did not give us recognition or protection. They chose to stand with Daredis the majority of whom have mixed with the Germanics anyway. We are the last pure West Corentian nation that was part of Daredland and was not mixed with the Germanics. We have pure blood and we are superior. No matter. We would rather stay on our own than submit to Daredis or to the backwards East Corentian breed. And if West Corentian countries won’t give us recognition then they are no better either. We are the final frontier.”

The Konfoderaleswehr has dispatched the Daredi Marine (navy) ships to patrol close to the Hasperan Republic to prevent a foreign landing there. The navy was ordered not to clash with Hasperan separatist coastguard or attempt any blockade action. The Konfoderaleswehr may deploy anti-air weapons supplied by MDAA from long before. These weapons may be used to shoot down any military planes moving the direction of the Hasperan Republic from the east. The Daredi Luftstreitkräfte would increase patrols of the Confederacy’s airspace. These precautions are being taken though the interim government has removed the state of emergency that the previous government declared when the Flaming Revolution began.

Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ Will Be The One Going On The Western Ventismar Tour After All

Image

Media Representative for the Administration and Cabinet of the President Agénâ Rûmár has confirmed that the Head of the Department of Security will be the one embarking on the small Western Corentian tour after all. Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ will be one traveling to Lindenholt, Umbrellya and South Baggnagia, rather than someone else from the Department of Security or some other diplomatic officials.

On behalf of the Sâlúbĕr administration and the government overall, Minister Armăs Fórtídâ will be checking up on the ballistic missile defense systems stationed in Lindenholt and Umbrellya, visiting Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) soldiers helping guard those systems, visiting the headquarters of the Sunrisian Ventismarian Command (SUNVENCOM) in Umbrellya. As for the outside the VU, in South Baggnagia, Minister Fórtídâ will be meeting the country’s President Dobrin Nóvak, the South Baggnagian counterpart – Minister of Defense Branimir Vuković, the Commander of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB) – General Pártên Câstódél, and Sunrisian commanders in the Joint Task Force (JTF) headed alongside South Baggnagian military commanders. As for the agenda, in Lindenholt, the Minister of Security would discuss cooperation with collective VU defense structures and proposed defense cooperation with VU in some other areas. In South Baggnagia, the Minister has a “sacred” task to voice commitment to the Mutual Defense Treaty (Sunrisia–South Baggnagia) in the face of unpredictability from the North Baggnagian dictatorial regime.

Originally, the back-up plan was to have other officials embark on this tour, because Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ was at the MDAA summit in Celstead, The Seven United. Rather than asking the Minister to go to another part of the world after the summit warps up, the government considering completing more task on the to-do-list simultaneously and send someone else. The Sâlúbĕr administration preferred that Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ go and the Minister himself later admitted that he was the best man for the job.

Empress Ymira to Attend Ostkorentien 2018 Conference

Imperial News

Conrad Verstein

With tensions between the Hasperan Republic, the Weniges Reich, and Daredland, the empress has decided that it is important to establish a stance on the matter. The empress believes that making this stance with several other nations in the local area could help build a lasting solution to the brewing conflicts. Empress Ymira has not disclosed exactly what she will be discussing with the foreign nations but has commented that it is important that the Hasperan Republic, the Weniges Reich, and Daredland should be push around by foreign nations. She has stated that this will only "agitate" the already unstable relations.

Another point that the empress disclosed was a renewed effort to support humanitarian efforts in the Far West. With an increase of violence in the world, Empress Ymira has commented that having localized committees dedicated to the humane treatment of their citizens and of neighboring nation's citizens could help to stop transgression before they must be dealt with by the United Sunalayan Alliance.

Although the empress has expressed her desire for a peaceful solution, she has ordered that four warships and five hundred marines be sent on alert status to the Sorilette Isles. The empress has stated that these defenses will act as a deterrent towards any nation or group who wishes to spread the violence in Daredland by supporting a side, making demands, or trying to expand it into other nations. Empress Ymira has said that "attempts to throw gasoline on the fire" will be met with stern warnings and possibly military action if violence gets out of hand. Some have speculated that the empress has armed the Sorilette Isles in response to Sunrisia's militarization of Creperia against the members of ROVAA and of the Rhodeve Commonwealth, though the empress has stated that these claims have no merit on the reality of the situation. Empress Ymira has promised that she will be discussing the removal of these Sunrisian missiles from Creperia at a later date, however.

Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland coalition formed to run in the elections

Image
Emblem of the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland

The Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND) party has kept its promise. A political coalition has been formed with like-minded parties in the run the early national elections in the Daredi Confederacy. The new coalition is the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland. This political coalition will be running against other competing parties in the national elections but its intention is to truly rival the Germanic Union. Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland or PLFWCD contains: the Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND), the Torch of Liberty Party (TLP) and the Freedom Bloc of Reform (FBR). The Western Corentian People’s Party (WCPP) was considered to be invited to join the coalition but WCPP was too left-leaning for other parties and decided to stay out. The WCPP party would be running in the election on its own.

Interim Chancellor Franz Potesinan is a member of the WCND party that initiated the formation of this political coalition. He expressed enthusiasm and believes that this coalition will have a fair rivalry with the Germanic Union. The Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland and the Germanic Union both contain three parties in their coalitions. The Germanic Union has: the Black Eagle Party (BEP), the Weniges Representation Front (WRF) and the Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD). Both coalitions advocate for opposite trajectories for Daredland. PLFWCD is pro-Western Corentian and the GU is pro-Eastern Corentian and arguably pro-Englean. GU is admittedly pan-Germanist which is where the pro-Englean accusations come from. Both coalitions are evenly matched and have the same number of parties. The rivalry between the two will be heated in the race of early elections. But the weight of both parties is truly determined by the public opinion and the polls are now overwhelmingly on the side of PLFWCD.
Image
Emblem of the Germanic Union (GU) which PLFWCD seeks
to rival in the elections.

Supporters of GU have been accused of aggressive behavior by police in Freihat and other cities of the Confederacy. So-called “skinheads” with pan-Germanic symbols have been attacking demonstrators that called on the citizens to vote for PLFWCD. The police successfully broke up clashes in most cases. Interim State Council Luca Sveriger asked for calm during the campaigning period. She said that it was important to protect the freedom of speech and the right of citizens to show their civic position. But she also kindly asked that citizens refrain from provocative and pushy agitation in favor either party or coalition. Sveriger also took the time at the State Council to address the Hasperan leadership. Sveriger told them that since the controversial Weniges Representation Front (WRF) has been allowed to run in the elections then a Hasperan party is allowed to join too. But the answer to the Daredi interim government was the same as before. Hasperan separatist officials told the government in Freihat that the Hasperan Republic is a separate nation and will not participate in the elections of another nation.

Interim Chancellor Franz Potesinan held the very first rally of PLFWCD in Freihat. This occasion happened as the campaigning period is heating up in the Daredi Confederacy before the early elections.

“First of all. Let me thank the officials of The Seven United for being the voice of reason on behalf of MDAA. We can truly see who wants to escalate things and who wants to actually see stable prosperity for Daredland. Who has genuine motives and ulterior motives. Who is friend and who is foe. Now let me move on to the second and main point. Our rivals in the Germanic Union are promoting pan-Germanic ideals. Their trajectory is pro-East and arguably pro-Englean. I will be fair and I will not debate whether its pro-Englean because I don’t want our coalition to be accused of slander. You can make your own conclusions what their goals are by looking at the past actions of the parties in that coalition or at what their supporters have been doing. You can remember what the Flaming Revolution was all about. Point is that if GU is promoting an Eastern Corentian trajectory then we are promoting a Western Corentian trajectory. But we are more than just a coalition that was formed to be a polar opposite of the Germanic Union.

Unlike GU our coalition has given the voters a program that includes domestic policy and foreign policy. We have said that on foreign policy we advocate for the Western Corentian integration of Daredland through full membership in MDAA and SOWEFTA. But that is not all that we are about. On domestic policy we support democratic reforms, economic reforms, strengthening the democratic institutes of Daredland, strengthening civil rights in our nation, strengthening our courts and the rule of law in Daredland. We support an adoption of a new constitution and we campaign for citizens to vote in favor of a new constitution. The current constitution is flawed and led to the problems that Daredland is facing today. The loopholes in the current constitution allowed for a power grab and the Flaming Revolution. Those loopholes even allowed for territorial collapse of Daredland and the break-away of HR and WR. In the case of HR in particular the local officials used the loopholes to capture power and declare secession of HR unlawfully. Our current constitution is a mess. It is all we have today but we need to change it. So we stand in favor of a new constitution.

A new constitution would make it difficult for government officials to pull off the same scheme that we just experienced. Where colluding political forces oust their opponents and usurp power. It will not happen anymore if we adopt a new constitution. We won’t have to go through more territorial collapse, more separatist and military conflicts, or have a new revolution. We will have a new system where all autonomies will have power and a right to self-determination. We are talking about actual self-determination and not what happened in WR and HR. Which is where our stance on our territorial conflicts also comes from. We support a peaceful resolution to the Weniges and Hasperan crises. We seek for Daredland to peacefully achieve rightful territorial reintegration and make sure that the people in those territories have real rights for themselves and for their regions. The new system will make sure that they will not have to suffer ever again like they are now suffering under occupation. The citizens will be free and protected and have an actual right to choose themselves where they want to be.

We will support NGOs and encourage an active dialogue between the government and civil society. We will rebuild our military and modernize the Daredi Konfoderaleswehr so that it could better protect us. We will inhale new life into our healthcare and our education by improving them as well. We will dedicate attention to scientific advancement and to protecting our environment. We will grow our economy. This is only the first rally but I promise that you will know all the details and more.

Our opponents in GU have only given you the ethnicity-based and foreign policy based program. They want to see Daredland in the Englean Imperial Commonwealth and they want Daredland to focus on bringing back its Germanic traditions. They think that Daredland’s Germanic traditions are being outweighed by other cultures and traditions in Daredland. That includes cultures hailing from the Western Corentian native tribes that we too hail from in addition to the Germanic settlers. I invite you to think on why we have not gotten a domestic policy program from GU yet and what will be the future of Daredi independence.

But what is most important is how you are going to vote. The choice is yours so I invite you to listen to your mind, your heart and your conscience. The future of Daredland depends on the voters of this nation and you will decide where we go.” – Franz Potesinan, Interim Chancellor of the Daredi Confederacy, Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND)

The Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland has already received endorsement from such social movements and NGOs as People's Power (PP) and Civic Duty (CD).

Asanagi to Attend Osterkorentien 2018 Conference in Englean Kaiserreich

The National Meritocratic Council of Asanagi has recently announced its intentions to attend the 2018 Osterkorentien Conference in the Englean Kaiserreich, and hopes to touch on multiple issues relating to trade, humanitarian outreach, and East Corentian Stability and security. It has also confirmed that, despite being a rather large topic of discussion in the upcoming conference, that Asanagi will not be taking a major or active role in the political crisis in Daredland. Recently appointed Diplomatic Ambassador to the Osterkorentien Conference, Youko Risaaku, clarified during her acceptance speech why the Council was leery of taking an official stance on the subject, and laid out her objectives curing the upcoming conference:

"Citizens of Asanagi, I am honored and humbled to be chosen as your ambassador to the upcoming Osterkorentien Conference. Rest assured that I will do everything in my capacity as official ambassador to represent our country, its ideals, and its values. Many of you wonder, openly, why the Council has refused to comment or take a side in the current situation in Daredland, which many other attendees have made their main topic of discussion. And it is quite a situation, with two breakway states form the Daredi Confederacy each vying for international recognition as sovereign states. The Weniges Reich being openly backed by the Engelean Kaiserreich, the hosts of this event, and Belantica seeking influence in the Hasperan Republic.

Simply put, the Council, looking at the failed coup d'etat by the Legion of Germanic Daredland, the subesequent revolution by the common Daredi citizen, and the upcoming election and constitutional reform in Daredland have convinced the council that the situation is largely on the mend and that some degree of stability will be restored to the country in the near future. It has therefore been determined that The Grand Meritocracy of Asanagi will not be attempting to otherwise influence or otherwise determine the outcome of Daredland's political process. We are confident that the people of Daredland will make the right decision.

However, I will nonetheless push forward the need for increased humanitarian initiatives within Eastern and Central Corentia, namely to assist those affected by the Daredi split and political upheaval, and to assist in curbing the economic problems in the Seven United. I will push the idea of greater economic cooperation between all attendees, including ourselves, and will also champion the creation of a neutral third-party to oversee peace and security within Eastern Corentia until such time as the current issues are resolved. I will simply ask my counterparts from other attending nations to simply keep an open mind. That is all."

Youko Risaaku was appointed to the position of Designated Ambassador yesterday at 11:30 pm by the National Meritocratic Council for her expertise in Corentian Politics. She studied law and international politics at the University of Nanjou, optaining a Doctorate in the latter in 1999, wherein her thesis was concerning the political history of Smoya. Following her graduation, she obtained employment with the Bureau of External Affairs, and served in the Asanai Embassy in Belantica until 2015 where she returned to Asanagi to take an advisory role to the Chair of the BEA. The Council has stated that it has full confidence in her ability to fairly represent the Grand Meritocracy of Asanagi in the upcoming Conference.

New Vesvai May Have To Reconsider Staying With Vesvai After The Words Of Governor-General Andrew Gaileta, Says PM Kai Placore Of New Vesvai

New Vesvai’s Independent Parliament gathered today by the initiative of New Vesvai’s ruling AIT coalition. The special gathering was dedicated to discussing the remarks by Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta. What the Governor-General said was deemed to be outright fascist. The Governor-General openly said that Vesvai must make that New Vesvai disappears from the map because the existence of this state poses a national security threat to Vesvai, ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth. He came out with such a statement after Professor Andreas Fasilita of the University of Aurisi reasonably called for Vesvai to recognize the benefits of New Vesvai’s existence for the whole island. The Professor said that New Vesvai was a buffer state between MDAA and ROVAA which made it a neutral zone that guaranteed security. The VHU-led government rejected this but the true blow came from Governor-General Andrew Gaileta who wants to see New Vesvai removed from existence as a security threat, almost as if it were a soar of some sort.

What Professor Andreas Fasilita said about New Vesvai may be taken as offensive by some but his reference to New Vesvai as a buffer has realistic reason and positive perception of why New Vesvai needs to exist. Not to mention the right for New Vesvai to exist because of self-determination and in protest by anti-VHU dictatorship forces in the nation. The hostility towards New Vesvai has come from Vesvai’s government and previously also came from some nations in the Commonwealth that called New Vesvai a splinter state. Such perception and aggression towards New Vesvai as a problem had led the government to reconsider some previous principles.

Prime Minister Kai Placore: “We said that we would not be declaring independence from Vesvai. We were not interested in separating because the people living in New Vesvai love our entire island nation. They want to see all of Vesvai free and doing well. With the government in Aurisi we had agreed to create a system of parallel governments in Vesvai. It would keep the formal national unity and territorial integrity of Vesvai. But it would additionally give Vesvai’s citizens an unusual right of having two governments in one nation at the same time. They can choose whichever government they want to see as their leadership. This is a privilege that does not seem to be paralleled anywhere in the world today. Vesvai is the only one. The government in Aurisi does not want to coexist and continues to claim itself the only legitimate government. We are forced to take precautions. We have the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army protecting New Vesvai from aggression by VHU loyalist forces in the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces. RVSF is considered the only legal military of all Vesvai but we see our protectors in VRA as equally legal to us. Power is a strong drug and the VHU party has long been addicted to it. We are not even sure if they could help us anymore.

We have taken precautions to deter forceful absorption of New Vesvai back under central control. We have financed VRA and created a strong defensive alliance with Sunrisia. We continued living a normal life, we continue to evolve and give our citizens more freedoms. Whereas Vesvai is becoming more authoritarian every day under VHU tyranny. We had a true fair election in New Vesvai. We continue heading down a right path. Professor Andreas Fasilita was right in saying that New Vesvai is a beacon of hope for Vesvaians that don’t like what they are seeing today. New Vesvai is a parallel of Vesvai. It is an opposite mirror image of what Vesvai with freedom and without authoritarianism could be like. Preserving New Vesvai is important not just for us living here but for Vesvaians on the other side of the island and in other parts of the world. So to preserve the legacy of New Vesvai for the future generations we may have to reconsider our legal status. Right now we are self-governing territory in a single state with Vesvai. The VHU-led government still has influence over us in a larger level that we may want. They think that they have legal rights to have that power over us. And the influence by their authoritarian government over New Vesvai will only freeze our advance forward. And we know that the success of New Vesvai is a nightmare for the Vesvaian oligarchy because other Vesvaians will start to reflect. Those Vesvaians that have not awoken yet will snap out of the reality created for them by the propaganda. They will want all of Vesvai to be like our quarter of the island. So to continue our advance forward for all Vesvaians we will have to limit the influence of VHU over us. And considering the words of the Governor-General we may be on the verge of a genocide. And genocide these days does not only need military might to happen. There are other ways to bring about extinction.

So considering all these facts we should take another look at our principal of not declaring sovereignty. I encourage our politicians and activists to begin a dialogue on this topic in New Vesvai’s community. The society needs to consider all variants and think on what should be our next step. Keep the status quo and hope for the best or take another step.”

LGBT Solidarity March Held In Orentan

Image

The LGBT community of capital city of Orentan, Sunrisia, is leading an LGBT Solidarity March across the city. The marchers include local LGBT community members and those from other cities of the Sunrisian Second Republic. Whether there are foreign LGBT representatives is not yet known, but considering the tough visa policy of our country and a select few visa exemption states, the presence of foreign LGBT representatives may logically be low. Same-sex marriage is fully legal in the Sunrisian Second Republic, which has raised questions on what the central agenda of the current march by the Sunrisian LGBT community may be. Traditionally, LGBT marches are held in defense or promotion of LGBT rights in the country, where the march is held, but because of LGBT rights in Sunrisia face no restrictions, the goal of the current march is different.

The LGBT Solidarity March in Orentan is meant to promote the message that is in its’ title. The Sunrisian LGBT community wants to show solidarity with LGBT representatives around the world. The march wants to specifically show support for LGBT communities in those countries, where their rights are either ignored or where they are prosecuted for being who they are. The participants marched with the classical slogan of the Sunrisian LGBT – “Love Knows No Gender.” Politicians, including members of the Convet from the governing Justice Coalition of Neo-Isolationism and Self-Reliance, as well as municipality politicians, joined the march alongside citizens. Staff from the Sâlúbĕr administration were seen to be partake in the march as well. However, the march was mainly civilian-held and civilian-attended. One participant stated:

We do not seek to intrusively influence the social politics of other countries and societies, but we seek to promote a message of tolerance that might change their understanding and the way they perceive the LGBT community in their countries or societies. This includes reaching out to the political elite and common people in these other societies. They might be open to take another look and rethink their values. There is not aggressive demand here. Apart from the message calling to rethink the way that LGBT communities around the world are perceived, we also want members of LGBT community around the world to realize that we with them, we support them, we will not forget them or leave them in mysery.

The LGBT Solidarity March will also later be held in Lucera, Ucinda, Aestin and other major Sunrisian cities. Province cities and towns may become arenas of such marches as well. Alongside these LGBT marches, Nationalists, Neo-Isolationists and Anti-Empire (denouncers historic Sunalayan empires) are also scheduled to hold their marches later on. The different groups have all agreed on the schedule among themselves and with local authorities. The different marches would have their own dates, so that they do not overlap with each other literally and figuratively. Each group will want space in the streets and public attention for when their turn comes. Concurrent overlapping marches would distract from each other and cancel each other out, if held at the same time. This would be detrimental and fruitless for everybody involved.

The LGBT Solidarity March in Orentan was said to be another paradoxical example, where an isolationist country, shows that it is still not indifferent to those suffering in other parts of the world. The value of harmony, where harmony is most immediately needed, still remains important.

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr: “A New Type Of An Iron Curtain Has Already Descended.

Image

The Neo-Isolationists and Nationalists have been talking more extensively about the iron curtain and it finally took President Válîd Sâlúbĕr to address and speak up on the topic. The head of state said that an iron curtain has already descended a while back and is in place, but it is not the traditional type of an iron curtain known in history:

Just like there is an ideology of Neo-Isolationism, you could also say that there is a New Iron Curtain. The traditional iron curtain has been imposed bilaterally, which not many people know. It was used by authoritarian societies for self-imposed oppressive isolation and to prison their people in their land. However, it has also been used by “democratic” societies to isolate the authoritarian world and keep themselves safer from it. Usually it has been a bilateral process used to divide the world based on ideology and into spheres of influence.

The iron curtain that had descended over Western Corentia or at least Sunrisia, is a different one. The certain level of seclusion is more self-imposed rather than bilateral and there is no restriction of movement. The iron curtain is more pragmatic and if other countries decide to join us behind it, they can also leave by free will. We are not an authoritarian society, therefore we cannot go for a traditional iron curtain, but a new version has descended quite some time ago. It has determined which civilization is where, which society is where. Even which ideology is where. The more specific lines of these different parts of the world will probably become more visible, as the world progresses forward. I will not voice specific geographic borders, because it is not for us to determine alone. Think of it more as a natural occurrence, similar to a weather phenomenon, or a natural categorization. Civilizational borders can shift.

I just want to tell the Neo-Isolationists and Nationalists, both civilian activists and politicians, that the iron curtain has already descended a while back and it is a more suitable iron curtain for the kind of country we are. We cannot go with a classical one, because we are not an authoritarian society, but things change all the time and new versions of pre=existing inventions and concepts come up. Things evolve, and more suitable/adaptable versions appear. Hopefully, there will not be more questions or lack of clarity for you. If there are, I can personally address those wanting to discuss the isolation topic with me. Just reach out and I will be available as a President.

BREAKING: Azovskayan Forces mobilize around Konetya

Konetyan government sends plea to international community

Azovskayan-Konetyan border Tensions heat up once again between Konetya and Azovskayan as Azovskayan forces have begun to mobilize outside the young nation. Civilian reports were confirmed by local news agencies and later several soldiers present along the border. The unit has been identified as the 16th Gatchina Motirized Rifle Brigade, which is usually stationed in Gatchina, situated in western Azovskaya. The presence of the unit on the opposite side of the country has many predicting some sort of military action, especially with its position around Konetya.

The Konetyan government has released a statement asking Azovskaya to back down and the member of the international community to assist in keeping peace between the two nations. Konetya gained its independence through a rebellion starting in 2008 and ending in 2010. Since then tensions between Azovskaya and Konetya have been very high, although neither side has once mobilized forces along the border. “The Azovskayan government has made it clear that they desire Konetya, and now it appears that they are making the first move in retaking the country,” says political expert Yuri Garakin, “although I think that if they were going to make a move to retake Konetya they would not be so patient. The longer that the Azovskayans wait the more support from other nations comes Konetya’s way. It may simply be an attempt at scaring the Konetyans, or it could be preparation for an invasion.”

Konetya is an arid yet somewhat chilly former province of Azovskaya. It has a population of 2.6 million people, with just over half living in the capital, Konetya City. Konetya is home to the Konas, an ethnic group who has long yearned for independence from Azovskaya. The region was important for Azovskaya as it supplied a considerable amount of natural gas and energy for Azovskayan companies. Losing the province was a heavy blow to the Azovskayan economy which has since recovered, but the government still has its eyes on retaking Konetya.

UST dispatches Naval Taskforce to Corentia as tensions rise, urges Daredland to reconsider Belantican proposal.

With the tensions in the Daredland area continuing to rise, the UST has dispatched a Naval Taskforce to patrol the waters in the area, and should it need to, act as a diplomatic courier for the Tao and the region. The Taskforce is only departing with a number of marines which is considered a minimum for boarding defense, as an assurance to the region that the UST's actions are one of peace and defense. The Naval Taskforce should arrive in the region in about 14 days, and will not be proceeding at a particularly urgent speed.

Along with the dispatching of a Naval Taskforce, the UST has strongly urged the Daredland to reconsider their "reckless" stance on the Belantican demands; which are mostly centered around the concept of keeping freedom and democracy alive in the region, simply giving the Hesperans the freedom to decide what flag they wish to live under. Saying that the Daredland's response to the demands "Are a pretty good indication of what the country has become, and sadly, what it may become.", per the Taoist Chancellor of Foreign Affairs. Whether or not the Daredland will come to its senses and embrace the ideals of freedom and democracy, it's sad to see something so similar to what the UST went through with the nationalists not too long ago. We all know how the nationalist regime came to an end, it was one of pain and regret as the UST became a hostile and power-hungry nation which is still recovering from the damages to this very moment.

Parliament Passes New Vesvai Independence Referendum Decree

New Vesvai’s AIT-led parliament has voted in favor of the New Vesvai Independence Referendum Decree. The margin was 107 in favor against 26 that were opposed. The New Vesvai Independence Referendum Decree would create legal grounds for an independence referendum to be held in case the state decides to vote on sovereignty. PM Kai Placore was in a pro-decree camp so he celebrated the result of the vote. He applauded the colleagues at the parliament. The New Vesvai Independence Referendum Decree would now allow New Vesvai to hold an independence and sovereignty referendum that would create a possibility for New Vesvai to become a nation. Of course it would all depend on the result if a vote were to happen. PM Placore said that New Vesvai would not immediately go forward with such a vote but the state now had legal grounds for it. The decree would also allow for an immediate green light for a vote if there is a popular demand or support for it in New Vesvai.

The New Vesvai Independence Referendum Decree has been the main topic in New Vesvai recently. The parliament was considering to pass such a decree and there was a debate about it. Discussions of this step being taken appeared recently when the parliament discussed it and New Vesvai’s PM Kai Placore talked about it. The issue of sovereignty has been ambiguous in New Vesvai but the state tried to remain in the same nation with Vesvai as much as possible. New Vesvai’s residents have not been interested in the division of Vesvai because of ideological reasons. But then came the words of Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta about New Vesvai needing to be erased from the map along with a continued aggressive attitude from Vesvai’s VHU-led government and its loyalist military. There were also other arguments about the development, prosperity of New Vesvai and how being part of the Dominion has been slowing New Vesvai down.

There have been no strong reactions from Aurisi so far. Many think that the VHU-led government is being careful about more tough talk towards New Vesvai. The large anti-government public in Vesvai may not take it well without mentioning New Vesvai itself. Aggression would only encourage New Vesvai to hurry up with a sovereignty vote. If there is no response from the VHU-led government in Aurisi then it also allows for an unchallenged sovereignty vote to be organized without obstructions. A possible reaction from Aurisi will probably come from behind closed doors to avoid new drama.

Premier Condemns recent moves against Daredland

Libra
The Premier surprised no-one today, when in a recent speech before the People's Congression he condemned the recent moves made by the, as he referred to it 'Eastern Axis'. The speech was intended to draw support for a measure close the Gora Strait, and Libriran territorial waters to UST military vessels, as well as officially condemn the USTs deployment of warships to Corentia. "Peace in Corentia cannot occur if nations both within and outside the continent constantly are intervening in other nations affairs, all responsible and peace loving nations of this continent need to come together both to prevent wars among ourselves but also drive back foreign influence so we can maintain our independence that many of our ancestors fought dearly for". The measure, CM-1025 passed unanimously, and although mostly symbolic, the Premier stated that he hoped it would stir nations in Corentia, to join Librira in pushing back foreign influence and allowing daredland and others to build their own future independently.

At the time of writing the Secretariat of defense hasn't announce any deployments of its own, though the Premier did mention, in his speech that a Libriran submarine was off of southern Corentia, and that "Librira stands ready no matter where in Corentia, no matter what" Military experts and enthusiast attempted to guess which submarine it would be, but given the immense secrecy surrounding Libriran subs and their patrol routes, they can be considered only rumors. The Premier declined to comment on the possibility of deployment to mirror the Tao's own, stating "We will attempt to diffuse this via other avenues first before we risk become interlopers ourselves".

The People's Congression also considered the possibility of economic santioncs and asset seizures, but decided not to include them in the measure, as it would only escalate the situation. Sonja Bitovya, Representative of the Congression stated "though we decided to not vote on economic or military measures today, one can be sure they may be in the future if the situation warrants them." The Congressional represenative and the Premier have been reportedly meeting often in recent days to remain informred about the situation in daredland and appropraite responses if any. "Our plans in Daredland are simple, pursue amicable relations with them, trade with them, and allow them to sort out their own problems" commented the Conressional represenative
