Amestrrian military ends combat operations in Zilveren Berg; Jointly operated Amestrrian-Zilveren government takes seat in the South
Officials in The Capitol have announced that the Amestrris Security Council - including the highest of commanders and military officials of the United Amestrrian Defense Force (UADF) - responsible for the Amestrrian military operations in southern Zilveren Berg, have publicly and officially declared the long-awaited conclusion of offensive combat operations in southern Zilveren Berg. In Amestrris' southern Area of Responsibility, the remnants of Zilveren Regime Forces and the dictatorship's loyalist militia have been quelled. Defeated regime soldiers and loyalists were either eliminated in battle or surrendered of their own free will, with many prisoners of war and political prisoners being apprehended. Nothing has been stated on the fate of these prisoners, but judicial officials have assured the citizens of Zilveren Berg that justice would be served with due time and process. With the first signs of peace and civil rights appearing in the region, many civilians and anti-regime rebels are getting their first taste of liberation. The Amestrris–Librira–Sunrisia tri-nation coalition has officially declared the conclusion to its combat missions, and tension seems to be breaking.
President Rhoam Odama celebrated Amestrrian, and coalitionary troops overall, as heroes of The Capitol, stating that the coalition has begun organizing a joint commemoration in the near future to celebrate the mutual victory, and our newfound allies, Sunrisia and Librira. Although details of the parade have not been released, the President has stated that, "it will be nothing short of magnificent - all that our heroes of this great coalition deserve". As the war concludes and stabilization efforts ensue, High Commander Clontarf stated that resource efforts will, henceforth, be directed at peacekeeping, relief, recovery and infrastructure in South Zilveren Berg, with the region remaining heavily defended by Amestrris to preserve this stability from both internal and international threats.
Peacekeeping initiatives and the Radiation Remediation Program have been working diligently to clean up the areas affected by war, notably the capital city - ground zero for the nuclear incident that decimated the dictatorial regime. Massive pools of government and private funding has been being poured into equipment and technology for this mission. Massive contributions have been made by the research conglomerate and privately owned space agency, SPECTRE. Special attention will be placed on areas that hosted the most debilitating and climactic battles, primarily the capital city, which - via an Amestrrian-hosted referendum - Zilveren citizens exclusively will vote to rename. The Security Council is reportedly coordinating with the Department of Finance and Economic Development, and consulting with government officials for a recovery program that will seek approval by the President.
Diplomatically, Amestrris has decided to remain deeply involved and intertwined with Southern Zilveren politics. Amid the power vacuum created during the regime change, a civilian government, mediated by Amestrris, had been established in previous weeks. With the transfer of power to the people, many members of the civilian government have formed an official leading body - what has been dubbed the South Zilveren High Council (SZHC). Like the councils of northwestern and northeastern Zilveren Berg - led by coalition allies, Sunrisia and Librira - the High Council is reportedly far more efficient, professional, and highly organized, as citizens from all social classes have been granted representative positions in the governing body. This concept has imposed some obstacles, as this mixing of social classes is unprecedented in Zilveren Berg, with some members of the higher social classes having difficulty adjusting. The South Zilveren High Council - as implied by its title - will only preside over the southern region in conjunction with the Amestrrian Area of Responsibility.
Despite this pseudo-independence - and don't get us wrong; this is newfound freedom is a breath of fresh air to the South Zilverens - there will still be heavy coalition presence in all three jurisdictions, as governing bodies have also been established by Sunrisia and Librira in their respective Areas of Responsibility. Amestrris has stated a policy of "taking it slow" with Zilveren Berg, so as to prevent degradation of the High Council, so we will not be withdrawing our influence any time soon. The Zilverens will need Amestrris to guide them through this new era of peace. According to officials, the future objectives of the High Council of South Zilveren Berg will be focused on the establishment of democratic elections.
