(Chancellor Pudikov Speaking on the Phone)Aznazia and Ophioneus Leaders Talk Ziamban Tensions
By: Marisa DeSuavio
UPDATED: 2 Pm September 28th
Chancellor Pudikov and Acting President Io Innokenty, spoke on the phone last night about the ongoing situation in Ziamban. Press Secretary Christopher Olson stated that both leaders wanted to ensure peace would be restored quickly and both would work to create a solution through the United Sunalayan Alliance. Olson said that "The two leaders agreed that both sides should return to pre-war borders and stand down their armies. They also agree that Bohin is the aggressor and should be made to pay reparations for any damaged caused. At the same time both nations urge Rezua to practice caution in its actions that might expand the war beyond a border clash if those sympathetic to Bohin decide that Rezua is doing more than defending Moleston". So far Aznazia has refused to become involved in the conflict due to the fact that enough nations have come to the aid of Moleston and the tensions Aznazia has with Uszwa.Minister of Foreign Affairs; Juliet Travis, Stepping Down
By: Jared Collins
UPDATED: 4 Pm September 28th
In a shocking announcement, Juliet Travis stated that she will be stepping down after nearly 9 years as Aznazia's Foreign Minister. She initially was nominated to the position when Richard Livington was first elected Chancellor in 2008. She was important part of the Livingotn Administration when the Chancellor looked to improve ties with the USJR through trade agreements and diplomacy. However with Chancellor Livington's assassination by members of The Red Hand in 2015, she changed along with the nation. When Chancellor Pudikov was sworn in he meet with Travis and the two agreed to work together to finish out her position as Minister of Foreign Affairs that would have ended in 2018. She has recently become increasingly more hostile to Sunrisia and the MDAA in her televised press conferences. As a result it is rumored that she has been asked by Chancellor Pudikov to resign due to her impact on relations with Sunrisia. "I would like to thank the Chancellor and all of my compatriots and friends for making my service to our nation enjoyable even through some difficult and dark times", she said today at 1:00 PM Eastern Aznazian time.

Kaiser on the Bohin-Molenston Conflict - "Rezua is Showing Its Imperialist Side"
In Support of Belantica, the Kaiserreich Has Now Been Celebrating the "Bundestreue" Between the Two Monarchies
SMS Sachen, SMS Tempelhof, and SMS Graf von Kurn Outside of Wittenbach
Platz das Reich, Engelberg, Hohenzern, Englean Kaiserreich -- Today Kaiser Siegfried spoke to the Reichstag on the subject of the Ziamban Situation and the Kaiserreich's response to the conflicts. The Kaiser ensured that the forces of the Kaiserreich would not be used in the conflict, for it does not support Englean interests to enter the area. Kaiser Siegfried stated, edited for time;"Once again, another conflict has sparked within the area of the Bohin and Molenston. This conflict also involves many major powers within Sunalaya, most notably Rezua. While the nation's response can be seen as a form of overkill, I wish to commend Ymira's acceptance to the first stages of imperialism. The nation and its monarch's response to the world and the conflict are quite admirable, for it shows strength. The Kaiserreich itself will remain neutral in the situation, for the conflict has no benefit for the Kaiserreich and any Englean loss of life would be for nothing. The Kaiserreich would like to extend an offer for the building of better ties to Rezua, and also to the Belantican Monarchy. The Kaiserreich admires its efforts to secure the nation from those who wish to destroy it, and also for the efforts to combat the republicans who wish to instill further democratic functions into the nation. We are at your service to aid you in whatever may be needed, and will denounce any form of sanctions imposed by those who do not approve of non-democratic institutions..."
The Reichstag has supported the Kaiser in his support of the Belantican monarchy, wishing to establish Bundestreue with the nation to help shield it from outside aggression. Many Englean companies have already opted to expand their businesses into Belantica, to support the nation's economy. As also stated by the Kaiser, the Kaiserreich also is interested in further relations with monarchies such as Rezua for mutual support and understanding.
Today the Kaiserreich is celebrating the victory of Imperial Forces in the 1867 Johannes Putsch, in which forces under Karl Johannes attempted a coup of the Imperial Government in favour of a republic. This attempted coup only lasted for 6 hours, with the Kaiserliche-Garde eliminating the last rebel forces outside of Tannenbach on September 28, 1867. The Imperial Decree of 1867 had been enacted by the Kaiser under the pretense of "outlawing the republican system" within the Kaiserreich and permitting the Reichswehr (the name of the Wehrmacht at the time) to support foreign monarchies in times of rebellion. A plaque was placed on the city hall of Tannenbach, stating "Für Gott, Kaiser, und Kaiserreich - Zur erinnerung an die niederschlagung des Johannes Putsches im September 1867" (in memory of the suppression of the Johannes Putsches in September 1867." With these celebrations, the streets of Tannenbach and Engelberg have been decorated with the Imperial Tricolour and the Reichstag has been decorated with the Tricolour and the Flag of the House of Hohenzern.
In other news, the 1923 Merzedes-Benz KW (Kaiserwagen) has increased in value, from nearly 42,480,000 Papiermarks to 56,899,000 Papiermarks. This vehicle is the most expensive vehicle in the Kaiserreich, with only two of these vehicles built. One is owned by the Kaiser, being the very first version built for Kaiser Otto II. Kaiser Otto II was an avid driver of sports cars, and specially designed the vehicle for himself. The other owner of a Kaiserwagen is the CEO of Germaniawerft Aktiengesellschaft (Germaniawerft AG), Prince Gerhard von Thyssen. The vehicle could reach the speed of 118 mph, although the Kaiser was escorted in most uses of the vehicle in case of a crash. Today a replica of the vehicle can be seen within the Kaiserliche-Museum für Engleanisches Automobilgeschichte, and the genuine version is owned by Kaiser Siegfried and is often seen in the streets of the capital.

The New Toola TimesOPPOSITION SUCCESSFULLY FORCES PALMER MINISTRY TO IMPLEMENT SANCTIONS AGAINST CALVAWhig Leader David Watson and Federalist MP Georgia Sheridan enter the Representative Assembly following the successful passage of sanctions on Calva
Cape Perusia - A coalition of a unified Whig Party and moderate Federalists successfully passed sweeping economic and migration sanctions against the nation of Calva and its government. Leader of the Opposition David Watson hailed the passage of the new sanctions and praised moderate Federalists who joined the Whigs in pushing the bill through the Representative Assembly. The passage of such sanctions without the endorsement of the Prime Minister and his cabinet has been seen as a significant defeat for the Palmer Ministry.
The Palmer Ministry had initially proposed moderate sanctions that were quickly blasted by Whig leaders like David Watson and Edward Prescott as ineffective. Conservative Federalists, led by MP Georgia Sheridan, also expressed skepticism regarding the forcefulness of the the sanction bill endorsed by the Palmer Ministry. Prime Minister Palmer and Foreign Affairs Minister Frank Landon both personally appealed to MP Sheridan and her allies within the Federalist Caucus but to little avail.
Opposition Leader David Watson and MP Sheridan proposed a significantly enhanced sanctions bill against Calva in the wake of the failed proposal by the Palmer Ministry. The unified Whigs and Conservative Federalists, along with support from the Patriotic Front, successfully passed the enhanced sanctions bill, much to the ire of the Prime Minister. Opposition Leader David Watson and MP Sheridan praised the passage of the sanctions bill while the Prime Minister expressed skepticism and Jacobin Coalition co-leaders Bruce Jackson and Charles Baxter outright condemned the passage of the bill.
The sanctions bill passed by the Representative Assembly places economic sanctions upon virtually every sector of the Calvan economy along with individual sanctions upon high-level government officials. The sanctions also bans travel and emigration to Calva. Tariffs against Calvan-made goods and products have also been increased significantly. The sanction bill also calls upon the Palmer Ministry to seek engagement with other nations that have embraced a hard-line stance against Calva.

My fellow citizens: I am proud of you all, By peacefully protesting and voting in a democratic referendum, you maturely showed the world that the war in Ziamban is not a war we should be fighting. . As I head to Belantica, I want the world to know this: We defend our allies if they are attacked directly, and we will defend ourselves from foreign attacks, but we will not fight in a war that has nothing to do with us. This war is not affecting us in any way, shape or form.

The New Toola TimesUNION LEADERS THREATEN GENERAL STRIKE OVER PUBLIC SECTOR WAGE CAPProminent union leader Matthew Hancock threatened national action against the Palmer Ministry
Cape Perusia - After a period of relative silence from public sector union leaders across New Toola following the Palmer Ministry's decision to place wage caps on public sector employees, prominent union leader Matthew Hancock announced at a local rally in Cape Perusia that he is not ruling out the call for a general strike. Other prominent union leaders across New Toola have since made a similar threat of action in the wake of the speech made by Mr. Hancock.
Matthew Hancock is one of the most respected union leaders in modern New Toolan history. Mr. Hancock had previously risen to prominence after a succession of general strikes against the Kramer Ministry between 1991-1995. Mr. Hancock currently leads the New Toolan Federation of Labor or the NTFL. The threat of a general strike by Mr. Hancock comes as tensions between the Palmer Ministry and unions within New Toola continues to become more tumultuous. It marks a significant shift from 2011 when Mr. Hancock actively supported Harold Palmer and the Federalist Party in the 2011 General Election.
Unions have historically been strong supporters of Federalist governments dating back to the Baker Ministry in the 40's and 50's. Unions have generally been combative with Whig Governments in the case of the Sherman Ministry in the 50's and 60's, the Clarke Ministry in the 70's, and the Kramer Ministry in the 80's and 90's. Union support has been a major factor in numerous general elections throughout contemporary New Toolan history. Unions experienced a period of significant growth during the Hogan Ministry in the 90's and 2000's.
The Palmer Ministry has not released any official statement regarding the threat of a general strike but reports seem to indicate that Prime Minister Palmer is already in talks with the NTFL and other prominent public sector unions regarding the prevention of a general strike. Whig leaders like David Watson, Beverly Vane, and Edward Prescott were quick to condemn the calls for a general strike with Conservative Whigs like Vane and Prescott taking their condemnation a step further by calling for a scaling back of business regulation passed under the Hogan Ministry that significantly favor union power.
The breakdown of relations between the Palmer Ministry and unions could be a sign of trouble to come as decreased union support could have a negative effect on turnout in the upcoming national local elections. Continued economic problems regarding the rise in national inflation and employment has already posed to be a major problem and threat to the continued dominance of the Federalist Party on a national level that they have experienced since the 90's. Former Federalist Prime Minister Benjamin Rutledge and Whig Prime Minister Leonard Kramer have both condemned the threats of a general strike despite being on opposite sides of the political spectrum. Former Federalist Prime Minister Eugene Hogan has yet to comment.
