The Regnant's New Ride: A Custom Ordered Concord Series 65
Image
Image

When it comes to the vehicles used by heads of state, being both aesthetically pleasing and functional are the key goals of designing such a vehicle to transport world leaders around. When it comes to the aging Presidential Executive that was used since the early 70's (with continuous updates), it may be wise to part with a vehicle that has served the presidents and prime ministers of Belantica for the last 40 years. However, with the appointment of the Queen-Regnant, Ms. Karen Pearson, many felt it was time to hand over the torch to something new that would create a lasting impression. That's when the best of the best of the Concord division of Marin Motors decided to take on the contract, to design the new state car that is meant to serve Pearson in her regal duties wherever she may go, and for the most part, it keeps the same look as the standard Series 65 limousine they offer.

Although the outside may be the same as it's ritzy civilian counterpart, the Regal 65 is an entirely different vehicle. Under the hood is a special purpose V12 diesel engine that is designed to propel the 5 ton beast from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds and hit an impressive 126 MPH. Now, the extra weight it's carrying isn't easily seen (unless you notice the slightly wider stance of the Regal 65 compared to the Series 65), since the armor plating and think glass has been concealed nicely to keep the car's graceful look. From what information MaMoCo was allowed to release, the vehicle is more or less "a very luxurious and fast APC", with defenses for not only small arms fire, but explosions alongside the road and biological/chemical attacks in order to protect the Regnant in case of such a situation. Other features include steel-belted wheels in order to continue moving when the tires are deflated or missing, air suspension that is self adjusting, storage for firearms, and other necessities including a compartment storing Pearson's blood type and plasma. Despite the weight and size, the vehicle is designed to be quite nimble in order to navigate tight spots, or to evade pursuants. The interior, according to MaMoCo, is dressed in a fine combination of dark brown and black leather, with the trim being carefully selected redwood that was obtained in a sustainable matter. In the back is all kinds of gadgets that a head of state would need, right down to a mini-fridge big enough for a couple bottle of fine champagne, and large seats that are like something out of a parlor. The front seat is just as comfortable, according to company representatives, since it is known that most of the time, it would be driven by the Regnant herself (which isn't normal for any leader, but word has it that she is a car-person).

As of now, only two have been built on a contract from the Belantic government, and the company is only allowed to build such vehicles for heads of state. It is expected that each vehicle carries a large pricetag, but many say it is worth it for what it has to do.

Nora-Fulser Unveils The "Phaeton" Concept Car
Image

In the automotive world, Nora-Fulser has mostly been the sleepy underdog among all the manufacturers, barely making anything exciting or noteworthy. They usually make what most would not even take a second look at, a car that is just another turnpike gladiator in whatever part of the world it's in. But every now and then, they get up and they show us something that is quite remarkable in it's own ways and gets people's attention, through concepts that their dream teams been working on behind closed doors. That is what they did just now, showed us something that is amazing and different, but unknown if it will actually be hitting the streets anytime soon. Their latest brainchild is a modern take on an older style a vehicle, a phaeton, and coincidentally, the vehicle is called the "Phaeton".

First, what is a phaeton? It is a fairly larger luxury car with four doors, either a convertible roof or none at all, and a partition between the front and rear. These vehicle were popular among the wealthy, political elites, and military leader during the first half of the 20th century, commonly being used as either touring cars or as a parade vehicle to stand in and wave to crowds. The popularity of these died during the second half on the 20 century, and mostly have been replaced by limousines. But at Nora-Fulser, they want to revive this golden age, as they explained. Team leader Maria Santos said that, "What this concept is trying to do is to recapture the imagination and the glory of the 1930s through the 1950s, as evidenced through how we designed the inside and outside of the Phaeton." The large grille, swooping fenders, pinched rear end, and long hood have drawn inspiration from the great touring cars of that era, and given a modern touch to a classic design.

Currently, it is still a concept, but the company says that they have planned for it to be containing a massive 16 cylinder engine as the power plant, and a racing inspired chassis to give it a sporty ride. The main challenge with the design was to make sure that the vehicle itself was strong enough without a roof, since in the past, convertibles did not hold up well in crashes or when traveling at high speeds, where the frame would twist. However, N-F engineers said that the partition in the middle between the front and rear will act is a giant brace, which would make the vehicle more stable and safer in the event of an accident. Numbers haven't been released yet, however it is within reasonable belief that N-F is beginning to test these in to to see if such a vehicle could go to market without much trouble. They also said that if it gets off the ground, a regular hardtop sedan would be offered was well.

Either way, if it becomes a reality or not, the Phaeton is sure an interesting gem for a normally unnoticeable firm.

Parliament voted in the early hours of Tuesday morning on closing the embassy and border between Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland following several deadly terrorist attacks carried out by the FCAA, the Free Cill Airiochin Army.

Although the government stated it recognises the FCAA is not associated with the Cill Airiochin government, it feels that it's lack of response of condemnation is a silent approval for the terrorist organisation.

The FCAA has been classified as a terrorist group in Westseaxnaland since 1999, but has not received the same status abroad in Cill Airne.

The Embassy between both nations was established in 1999 following the end of the first troubles, with borders opening between the two nations the following year. The government has already recalled it's ambassador from Kingsbridge, Cill Airne.

The government has notified embassy staff working at the Cill Airiochin Embassy in Winchester that they have 3 days to vacate the premise. Remaining after this period will be grounds for deportation.

78% of Parliament voted in favour of closing the border, and 68% voted in favour of closing the embassy.

With the orders in effect, any Cill Airiochin national will be denied entry into Westseaxnaland by any route, including airports in Westseaxnaland. Cill Airiochin citizens living or working within Westseaxnaland have also been issued a similar message, stating they have 3 days to leave the nation before being deported.

Chemensian soldiers marching in the national military parade in Selduvye. Also some fireworks in Lemovic.

Chemensia - Today, one of Chemensia's 5 "Holidays Of The Republic" began. The Day of Victory celebrates the Republican victory over the final forces of Beozemlija, which happened soon after the surrender of The Royalists and the formation of the republic. The day also known as Pladsa Day, as Pladsa Hill was the location of the final battle of the battle of the Republican Revolution Of Chemensia and the battle where the Tsar of Beozemlija surrendered. Today the president went to Manava Street to view the public National Military Parade of January 30. Many soldiers took part, and overall the parade was successful except for the broken down command car. Other cities and towns also held small parades of all kinds. The President made a speech at the BNS(Building of the National Assembly) or also known as the Republikazakonkuca. The speech was like most he made, about republicanism, democracy, and the terrors of complete totalitarianism. Most citizens celebrates with fireworks and visiting local parades or events.

Elections for Vacant Senate Seats Over and Senate Reduces Environmental Regulations

By: Elon Frick

UPDATED: 9 Am January 31st

Over the weekend elections were held for the districts that lost their Senators after they resigned due to them allegedly forming a "de facto" political party. As result the Senate has picked up 5 "pro-business" men that campaigned to reduce taxes and bring regulations under control. As a result the Senate now has a majority of Senators who will be more willing to intervene on the international stage, reduce regulations for allies, and counter VSSA threats. Newly elected Seantor Tony West stated that he will propose a new bill that will reduce environmental regulations that restrict imported cars to have a highway MPG of at least 32. "These regulations are too demanding on foreign companies who wish to invest in Aznazia. Eliminating this requirement will ensure that nations like Belantica can import cars and encourage the competition that drives our economy. The choice of the MPG of a car should be up to the consumer and not the government." West added that instead of banning any cars with a certain MPG, the Government will add a tax to cars based on their Highway MPG and use the money collected to invest in new wind and solar projects around Aznazia. As a result of the speech, Diamond Back Motors stocks took a dive but CEO Francis Bradford assured investors that the company will still remain strong and continue its switch manufacture only Hyrbid or Electric cars by 2020.

This proposed deal has angered some environmentalists who have stated that Aznazia must not back down on environmental regulations. "The MPG limit is needed to ensure that Aznazian and Foreign car companies continue to innovate if they want to be able to sell here", said Professor George Orbel at the Daniel Weiver University Public Policy Center. "This will not only hurt our environment but it will harm our economy by driving down the demand for Aznazian made cars, thus increasing unemployment. However Environmental Analyst Jeff Darron of the Aznazian Department of Environmental Protection (ADEP) stated that the removal of the regulation will not hurt the environment as much as people may think. He stated that "Foreign companies have for the most part kept pace with Aznazia in their emissions regulations and we will no doubt continue to see the efficiency of engines improve and companies produce hybrids as gas becomes more expensive. Even if people buy more "dirty" cars I think the bill by the Senate of a import tax to fund solar and wind projects is a good change that will offer citizens the ability to buy the cars they desire while also supporting our shift to renewable energy".

The Seven United News

"Peaceful" Planned Coup "Faultered" says official Commiss Army spokesman

Around three days ago the Commiss Army poured into Trinidad and arrested 483 people suspected of plotting a terror attack. Then, the military poured into Podzia, capital of The State of Montedoran. As of right now, the military have arrested 191 people. Military commanders and government officials are the main target of the arrests and seizures. Over half of the opposition party in Podzia have been arrested while the Democrats and Green remain untouched. Later, this morning Commiss Army released a statement saying that a planned coup has been foiled. Major opposition parties in Cyprexe and Montedoran have been planning this coup for some time, the coup was said to be 'unviolent' and 'democratic' but the Commiss Army seems not impressed.

So what does it mean for the political systems in those regions? Well, total collapse obviously. The current opposition party most affected is Soldurs Des, whom narrowly missed an election victory in the last Seven United wide Commissioner elections. Montedoran and Cyprexe are Soldurs Des strongholds, and with the collapse of their party who will take the void? John Cranem whom we were talking to yesterday tweeted as exactly:

Just talked to Commission, Democrats will take the Soldurs Des place for now #politics

This could mean political uproar as the opposition strongholds fall.

2018 Elections Moved to a Later Date.

The political climate right now is very extreme and tough. The worst since 1995. With a planned coup foiled, what else is in store? Well, not an election apparently. The Commission has moved the dates of the 2018 elections on to 2020, as they believed "The climate is too extreme to facilitate a dangerous election" this has faced ridicule from the remaining opposition parties saying that it's just a grab of power.

Legally, the Commission can only move back an election date two years if the situation wouldn't allow one on the previous date, this seems to be a valid move back. I talked to our political correspondent.

"Hi, so what do you think about this?"

"Well, I think that the situation would not allow an election in 2018. It's one year away, and with the political climate at the moment it could be very dangerous for people to vote, or to make up their minds on who they are going to vote for."

"Is it really a grab of power?"

"No, this is a real measure taken by the Commission to make sure that no lives are lost during the election. So far, our economy is going well with the Deseret canal in its Year 3 of construction faster then planned. We are in a good economical climate and we don't need an election to fix it especially with quite a dangerous political environment at the moment."

Imperial Family to host major celebrations for Shahdokht Tarsa's 6th Birthday
Image

Qazvin, Eranshahir - The Shahanshah (Emperor) of Eranshahir has announced that the Imperial Family will host major celebrations to celebrate the 6th birthday of Tarsa Parizad, the Shahdokht (princess) of Eran. Shahdokht Tarsa is currently the heir apparent for the royal family, and according to many close to the imperial family the young princess is extremely well loved by Shahanshah Beraz Parizad and Shahbanu (empress) Khorshid. The celebrations, which will be funded by the Shahanshah himself, are set to include a number of carnivals and celebrations throughout the capital city in Qazvin followed by a grand parade through the ancient city leading from the old city gate to the Zar-e-Hazrat Palace, the royal palace of Qazvin, where a major party will be held.

The Royal Family stated 20 random citizens and their families will be invited to join the Imperial Family at the party in Zar-e-Hazrat Palace, along with several other children who share a birthday with the Shahdokht. This will provide a rare glimpse into the Zar-e-Hazrat Palace, which is normally off-limits to the public world due to it remaining a private residence of the Imperial Family. According to Imperial History scholar Ramin Mohsen this will be the first time since the Palace was constructed in the 1830's that anyone not born in the nobility or are high-ranking politicians have stepped foot into the Royal Palace. Celebrations are scheduled for Friday, the third of February.

MASSIVE ANTI-WESTSEAXEN PROTESTS STAGED IN KINGSBRIDGE FOLLOWING EMBASSY, BORDER CLOSURE
Image

BREAKING NEWS BULLETIN

KINGSBRIDGE, CILL AIRNE - Following the Westseaxen government's decision in the early hours of Tuesday morning close the border and embassy between Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland massive protests were staged in Kingsbridge. Protesters, who objected to the Westseaxen government's decision - which many feel stems from a lack of Westseaxen control over the Cill Airiochin government - gathered outside of the Westseaxen embassy in Kingsbridge today, preventing the Ambassador from leaving, who has been recalled. He was eventually airlifted from the embassy and taken to the airport so he could return home, however other employees of the embassy were forced to remain behind until the gathering dispersed in the evening hours of Tuesday.

Many of those gathered outside of the embassy held signs that have been described as alarming, while others have stated "this is clearly what we expected would happen following the Prime Minister's remarks and the Westseaxen parliament's decision." Many signs denounced Westseaxen attempts at censorship over the Cill Airiochin people with signs saying, "our government, our decisions!" indicating the clear disappointment that the embassy and border closure was based on the decision that the government had not declared the FCAA a terrorist organisation like the Westseaxen government had wanted. However, many held signs stating "we will not be slaves again, the FCAA will see to that!" and similar slogans. Although the Westseaxen government did issue a request to the Cill Airiochin government to disperse the crowds for "supporting terrorism and preventing Westseaxen citizens from leaving the embassy" Promagistrate Wentworth St. Claire allegedly responded saying, "I and the Cill Airiochin government have given our full support to these demonstrations in Kingsbridge today, and will note censor our own people to please and curtsy to a nation that, for over a century, enslaved our people." This is, for the first time, that the Cill Airiochin government has responded to the Westseaxen government in this manner - clearly indicating that tensions will only continue to worsen following Parliament's decision.

Sunrisian Military Stationed Along The Border With The Seven United: President Sánît Béâtídá Mentions Plans For Humanitarian Help To FCAA Conflict Zone In Westseaxnaland

Image

Sunrisia’s neighbors have definitely been going through troubling times recently. The situation in Edereon has fortunately calmed down, however, uncertainty has now apparently come to The Seven United. The country has been reporting terrorist attack scares, to the point where even the military had to get involved, while also having come out with information about an alleged coup d'état attempt in The Seven United that was foiled. So far, the overall image of the situation has been painted as vague and it seems that a lot of the things are either still unknown to the leadership of The Seven United itself or some details might just be kept under wraps on purpose. The uncertainty in The Seven United has generated a reaction in Sunrisia, where the government has decided to take early precautions, because of suspicions that a complicated situation might be developing in the neighboring country.

The Sunrisian Defense Force was ordered to deploy along the common border with The Seven United to help boost its policing. The presence of the National Guard and police was also increased. President Sánît Béâtídá explained that his administration would not be taking risks of the developments in The Seven United spilling over into our country and in case there really are terrorists present in the neighboring country, our military would make sure that Sunrisia does not become an unintended sanctuary for criminals or even a new target. This measure creates a guarantee that any terrorists attempting to enter Sunrisia would be captured and handed over to The Seven United authorities. In case Sunrisian deployment along the border causes national security concerns for The Seven United, the Béâtídá administration stated that Sunrisia is prepared to coordinate its actions with The Seven United leadership.

Meanwhile, in regards to another issue that the government has been actively monitoring, President Sánît Béâtídá spoke about the relations between Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland, and the ongoing FCAA insurgency in Eastern Cill Airne, Westseaxnaland. The President said that the Sunrisian position has not changed from the last time it was disclosed and that Sunrisia would remain uninvolved to keep the ethnic conflict from worsening. However, the administration is prepared to make Sunrisia engaged on a certain level anyway, by having our country being supplying humanitarian aid to the affected people and areas all throughout the FCAA conflict or at least for as long as Sunrisia could afford. The head of state said that his administration hopes for diplomacy to take over in the near future and that Sunrisian humanitarian help might buy time until that point. Due to the primary zone of conflict – Eastern Cill Airne being under the sovereignty of Westseaxnaland, the Béâtídá administration has offered the launch of humanitarian help to Eastern Cill Airne to the government of Westseaxnaland. With a nice history of cooperation against the International Organization for the Furthering of Communism (IOFC), the government hopes that the Sunrisian offer would be accepted.

In other news:

  • Western Corentian Free Trade Agreement begins showing benefits to the Sunrisian economy.

  • Sunrisia provides financial support to Free Edereon to assist the country’s economic progress.

  • The Béâtídá administration raises theories that the Sunrisian National Revolutionary Front (SNRF) may have more foreign state sponsors than just the National Council’s Edereon.

  • Some officials believe that the SNRF may be a foreign-backed replacement to the current government of Sunrisia in hopes of restoring foreign influence from the latter half of the North–South division period.

  • Having established humanitarian partnership with the White Dove, MDAA is set to do the same with Blue-Gold.

  • GHSAO reports more medical breakthroughs.

  • Sunrisia is providing as much support as The Bohin is willing to take to help contain the virus and prevent new casualties.

  • Military speaks up about the possible conclusion of military operations in Latin Corentia in the near future, due to the cartel threat having passed.

  • Citizens of Lucera are gathering signatures for a petition to bring back one of their city’s historical names in the place of the current one.

  • The White Dove reports a large influx of domestic volunteers from across Sunrisia, who are joining the relatively-new organization.

  • Refugees from Ziamban are rescued at the southern coast of Sunrisia, being provided food, water and medical aid afterwards.

  • Economic migrants and refugees make some officials recommend reviewing Sunrisian immigration policy, but without taking any radical decisions on travel restriction.

  • Sunrisia declines invitation to the summit in Eomeria, Rezua.

  • Chemensia celebrates Day of Victory with a large military parade.

Oil Spill off the Coast of Rhodevus
Image
HMV Britannica Oil Spill, outside the Lyjlan Coral Reef

At 2:22pm this afternoon, a distress signal was discovered originating from the HMV Britannica, an oil cargo ship travelling to Westseaxnaland. When the Maritime Navy reached the ship, hundreds of barrels of oil were pouring out of the tanks and into the open ocean, all of which was on fire.

"It was quick thinking on the part of the captain that allowed us to get the sailors and crew off of the Britannica." said one naval sailor who requested to remain unnamed. The entire crew of the HMV Britannica have survived, but the ship has already been engulfed in flames. The coast guard have already encircled the oil spill, making sure that all oil stays on the ocean side of the Lyjlan Coral Reef; home to hundreds of unique species of aquatic life. For now the situation is under control, but will take a few days to clean up entirely.

the moderate party. The reps that quit were Agar Jamsbana, Aziza Luquq, Lalu Buamanyalu, Muhammad Zizar, Ahmed Harjab, Aziz Qaziziari, Yana Harjabib, Dimitry Havijabi, Borat Lajugarf
and Shala Shamaliyan. Some say the party could join with the communist party now that they are so far left. Muhammad Zizar said "The liberals are too radical for us, we can't take a party
that supports killing of conservatives now and celebrates the death of conservatives. This not what liberalism is, we will leave this party and join the moderates, even if they are mostly
conservatives." Yana Harjabib also said "We can't take it anymore, its too radical, we must leave if we feel it's not right, and it isn't.

Friesland Revolutionary News
Socialists take the east,Nationalists bombing almost kills Marshal
Jorvik, Friesland The Marshal was exiting the Assembly Hall when a bomb hidden inside of a car went of as he went near it, the Marshal is currently in the hospital his condition unknown. The Friesland National Union Association has claimed credit for the attack. This has left the government without a leader at this moment it is believed that Britheva Burgred leader of the Union party will form a united front to led the government till the Marshals recovery.

What Remains of the Car that was used in the attack
this attack could not have come at a worse time, news from refuges and military units coming in from the east tell us the the City of Marnmouth has fallen to RSP forces, and all attempts to relive the City of Taewe has failed. Some of the more left leaning members of the Assembly and military has talked about negotiating with the RSP to combat both the FNUA and the monarchists, but these attempts have been frustrated either by the Marshal or now the lack of a central government to negotiate. This has been FRN and as always we will tell you more as the situation develops. goodbye and goodnight.

Coup attempt details won't be "disclosed" says Commissioner for Internal Security
Government is shut down.

The "peaceful" planned coup attempt which has lead to thousands of arrests has hit again, shutting down parliament "Until the situation allows the Unitary Parliament and Regional Parliaments to function again" stated The Commissioner John Hague. The bill was passed 49 to 2, not a big feat considering all of Unitary Parliament is Democrat after Soldurs Des was ousted before the vote took place.

John Cranem will have the special at 9 tonight on 7NN1.

ACT 7 ABOLISHED in Montedoran Regional Parliament minutes before all Parliaments were shut down

Act 7 is the act which legally ties Montedoran to Aygon's Unitary Parliament. With it now abolished, Montedoran does not need to adopt legislation from The Unitary Parliament. Montedorans Regional Commissioner Sieummen Hartley called it a "success" saying it will not be the end of changes following the so-called "Authoritarian grab of power." Sieummen tweeted With parliament shut down for minimum 14 days, they can't touch us! Hahaha #AygonWoes We have a correspondent with some people wanting to share their opinion.

"So what do you think about the shutdown of Parliament?"
The old lady sighed, then shouted
"##### Them! The pigs can go f---"
"Well sorry about that. Galia, what do you think about the shutdown of Parliament?"
A man walks up, he is very shabby and starts talking into the microphone.
"I think that it bad. Very bad. We need to be independent. It very obvious they can not control The Seven United so let us control ourselves maybe? I want referendum."

"Well that's all we have today, come back to us tomorrow for an update on the news in The Seven United and all around the world."

Today Senator Tucker(R-Marena) roasted or what people say "Tucked" Senator Zoroz Jr.(D-New Muiduque) about ending of funding

Carlson Tucker said he would love to see "triggered snowflakes" fall apart when their campus is not funded anymore by the government
and see rioters arrested when his bill will become a law, which is certain to happen. He also tweeted this: "Haha George, your're father

that removing funding off these places will make them more supported and the Republicists will lose power. Tucker is one of the more

BREAKING NEWS: COUP NONEXISTENT AND TERRORIST THREAT MINIMAL, GOVERNMENT DECLARES 90 DAY SHUTDOWN OF ALL POLITICS, STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED IN BAILOR AND MONTEDORAN
Image

Commissioner for The Bailor, Finance, Tourism and Environment resign, riots spring up in Aygon and Podzia. Protests throughout the nation.

The "planned coup attempt" has been "brutally falsified" by the government. Whistleblowers leaked 490 sheets of raw government information today, the information sent right to us is mostly details for the economy, however 10 pages show that the coup was falsified. The internal security commissioner had placed these letters on high security, with a guard at all times. It seems that the security company did not do so treating the batch of letters as the "everyday load" says PMQ Security.

The internal security Commissioner released a statement to the Unitary board just half an hour after the details were publicized saying that these material are fake and completely falsified, and most likely from the hatred of the opposition.

The details themselves highlighted plans to arrest civil servants Trinidad and Podzia. All of the names shown and occupation of those arrested. Then, The Commission would release news that there was a planned coup, just after saying it was a terror threat. After that, detaining many opposition party members and shutting down parliament as they have "affiliations to the planned coup" The Commission would then limit all powers of regional government.
Soldurs Des media secretary called it "Atrocious" saying "The Commission will either resign, or forcefully be arrested and taken out of office."

The Commissioner John Hague said that this is "all fake" and its just "them at it again" boldly stating that he will stick in his office till the end of my term.

Riots have sprung up in Aygon and Podzia as the details were disclosed, Bailor and Montedoran regional government have declared a state of emergency, while other states are simply too disorganized since the arrests. Currently, the dangerous areas are Aygon and Podzia while other states have remained riot free, but for how long this will last? Rioters cry for The Commission to step down or be taken down as the Unitary Parliament was surrounded in rioters and police, even the police are unwilling to hold the protests.

"3 Left Dead: Potential Outbreak of War?"
Image

Prime Minister Cedric Howarth has stated recent hostilities between the governments of Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland could potentially lead to the outbreak of war between the two sovereign states.

PM Howarth continues to reject bids to hold peace talks with FCAA, Cill Airiochin Government

23,000 Additional Troops to deploy to Eastern Cill Airne.

3 Soldiers have been left dead today during an attack on the border closing ceremony at Ballyskee in Eastern Cill Airne. Representatives from both sides were present as the border was officially closed for the first time in over a decade following Parliament's decision to withdraw Embassies with the Seven Kingdoms.

The attack, which has been claimed by the FCAA, targeted Westseaxen soldiers participating in the ceremony. Three were killed, with one other being left in hospital for minor injuries. Prime Minister Howarth, who was present, stated "I believe the lack of harm on the Cill Airiochin side is suspicious." The Prime Minister went on to call the attacks "organised and coordinated" hinting that he believes the Cill Airiochin government is operating with the terrorist organisation.

He also stated the government of Cill Airne has been antagonistic. At today's border closing ceremony, Promagistrate Wentworth St. Claire - Cill Airne's head of government - read the 1917 Proclamation which declared Cill Airne's independence from Westseaxnaland in 1917, a century ago. This decision was viewed as controversial by the Westseaxen government and pro-Westseaxens, due to the Proclamation's heavy emphasis on the unity of Cill Airne and undying loyalty to the nation until the island is independent of foreign chains and bonds.

With the increase in tensions between both governments, and now complete severance between communication many are afraid all out war could be on the horizon. If the Prime Minister's accusations of the Cill Airiochin government working with the FCAA turn out to be true, it would be grounds for immediate declaration of war in the eyes of the Westseaxen Parliament.

With accusations being made, and tensions at an all time high, experts fear that if either government makes one wrong remark it could turn into an open conflict.

Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland: Stand Down
Imperial News

With war between Engleberg and the VSSA about to erupt, Parliament has demanded that Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland stand down and stop all hostilities immediately. Some point fingers at Westseaxnaland for going to war easily. Just recently, Westseaxnaland declared war on Kaimlings without much effort for diplomacy. Officially, however, Parliament has stated that it does not wish to see war come between Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland over unfortunate tensions.

Senator Markatin commented that the deaths of several soldiers on both sides is tragic but an all out war would end so many more lives. Markatin created a proposal to ease tensions between Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland, both nations should back troops and vessels away from the other's nation to ensure no more misunderstandings occur. Prime Minister Hoelmon has invited both nations to Eomeria to join in the Eomerian Peace Summit already taking place between Rezua and her allies. He says that if both nations come, their sides could be heard and a larger group of nations could help to solve the problem in order to keep peace. Empress Ymira has encouraged Cill Airne and Westseaxnaland to accept so that more needless deaths do not occur.

Tensions Rise During Upcoming Election

Postby Bendois » Fri Feb 03, 2017 2:15 pm

Presidential Candidate Senefi Qabiil

Throughout the history of Bendois the transfer of power has been relatively peaceful. However, it may appear that violence is bound to happen. Senefi Qaabiil, the first presidential canidate to come from Mep'e is taking heat from many Bendosians because of past encouners with his people. As you may have guessed, Senefi Qabiil is part of the Riguuali ethnic group. Riguualis are a Habesha people who are native to the mountanious island of Mep'e. In 1972 the Riguualis seceded from Bendois and declared themselves an independent nation known as Lioshi. After a brutal 10 year civil war things finally cooled down but there have alays been underlying tensions.

The reason for these tensions are very lear and still evident today. One reason is because many Bendoisians feel that the Riguualis caused an excess of carnage and bloodshed just to grudgingly come crawling back to Bendois. The Riguualis feel as though every ethnic group within the country has had animosity towards them since the war. After interviewing people from multiple etas (states in our country) many said that they lost family members in the war. Bondye, Ahmar, Ngoui, and countless other suffered at the hands of the Riguualis war.

Senefi Qabiil has something to say on the anger directed toward him, " It does not hurt me as a person. I must stand strong if I want to lead this country in the direction of greatness it is already heading in. My fellow citizens actions hurt as a man of Bendois because we are a nation of over 150 ethnic groups and we should all come together and not tear each other apart due to the actions of the past."

Well these are all of the facts that we have now. Stay posted folks. This is your BCN correspondent, Mathieu Avril, signing off now.

20TH ANNUAL PRIDEFEST: A REVIEW

ZŁOTTEI - City officials have predicted that nearly 2.3 million attended Złottei's 20th annual PrideFest. This number shattered LGBT+ parade records from the past, as Umbrellya hosted the most popular (by recorded attendees) in history.

Image
Hundreds of participators wave pride flags beside the parade on Lobby Street.

While officially starting Friday, January 27th, PrideFest reached its peak (in terms of participant volume) on Sunday, ending 3 days later. This mass of attendance consequentially made walking faster than any vehicle within the downtown area. Over 5 blocks surrounding the Oltar Tower were impassable due to the sheer amount of pedestrians jaywalking and celebrating. On Sunday evening, all above-ground public transport was suspended.

Noteworthy officials and politicians like Empress Ymira of Rezua, Queen Regnant Karen Pearson of Belantica, and Gdańsk himself. Gdańsk made history today as the first Prime Minister in Umbrelliet history to attend an LGBT+ festival. His arrival was shortened to just Sunday afternoon as he later attended the Summit in Rezua. All visiting officials stayed in the Oltar Tower during the celebrations.

Image
The Oltar Tower lit up in pride colors, as it was throughout the festival.

The main parade wasn't the only attraction during the event. Hot-air ballooning, drinking, sailing, urban zip-lining and many other events also took place around the city during the last few days. Body painting was also a popular activity as thousands of Umbrellas and tourists were covered in rainbow.

Hundreds of buildings were illuminated in rainbow colors throughout the 6-day festival.

Surveyors recorded that nearly 13% of the turnout was of non-Umbrellas. Dormill-Stiurians, Rezuans, tourists from Ventismar like Lindenholt, D'Fleuves, and tourists from Dogmana like Rhodevus were the most notable appearances.

CILL AIRNE VOTES "YES" TO SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
Image

KINGSBRIDGE, CILL AIRNE - Despite it's reputation for being a conservative nation, Cill Airne has voted "yes" to same-sex marriage in today's referendum. The referendum, which has been in planning since late last year, was the first of it's kind to be held. Many politicians did not believe the referendum would vote "yes" on a subject that remains highly controversial in Cill Airne despite early polls suggesting the majority of Cill Airiochins would vote yes in the referendum.

The results were announced at 17:00 local time on 02/15/2017, just hours after the referendum closed. 74% of voter's voted "yes" in the referendum, with only 29% of those who voted having voted "no". Promagistrate Wentworth St. Claire, despite being a conservative politician himself, applauded the vote for being representative of the democratic principles the people of Cill Airne fought for a century ago. The Promagistrate also stated he will ensure the democratic process is observed after several far-right politicians suggested blocking the referendum results. The PM, however, did state "it is important to remember the referendum does not automatically pass the law. We hope to see it passed through the Magisterium by the end of summer this year."

The referendum proposed adding a a thirty-fourth amendment to the constitution of Cill Airne which reads, "Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex." Despite the Promagistrate's assurances that he will ensure the democratic process is observed, Micheal O'Flattery, leader of the far-right Páirtí Náisiúnta na nOibrithe Sóisialach(PáNOS), has stated he will challenge the referendum's results in Cill Airne's High Courts to prevent it from making it to the Magisterium. PáNOS, despite being a small party, has blocked previous attempts at allowing same-sex civil unions in Cill Airne. According to O'Flattery and other prominent members of PáNOS the referendum is unconstitutional. The Bráithreachas Caitliceach, Catholic Fraternity, a nation-wide organisation for Catholics, has also stated they intend to dispute the referendum in Cill Airne's High Courts.

Humanitarian Aid Launched For Friesland

Image

The government has issued an order for Sunrisia to begin supplying humanitarian aid to Friesland, a country presently plagued by civil war. The conflict is a fight for power between the incumbent government and two rebel factions representing different ideologies. The Sunrisian aid would be sent as an intended neutral help to the population of Friesland, without the intention of it ending up as support for any faction in the continuing fight.

The authorities in Friesland informed that the country’s ports are under the control of different sides of the conflict, while the representatives of the Sunrisian Defense Force stated that the ports are likely highly-strategic objects, which is why fighting will definitely spread to there frequently. Thus, for safety measures, the Béâtídá administration approved of the military‘s consultation to only send aid by air via transport airplanes, which would be accompanied and protected by the Sunrisian Air Force. As the military was tasked with leading the effort, while Sunrisia’s national humanitarian organizations offered assistance, the government contacted its counterparts in MDAA countries, informing the alliance that a humanitarian route into another country needs to be opened.

Meanwhile, there were talks among officials for Sunrisia to draft a resolution at the USA Security Council, calling for peacekeeping and humanitarian intervention in Friesland, however, the plans have not been rushed yet, since the absence of something at least representing a cease-fire, would throw non-combat soldiers and international personnel into the fire. Still, the options has not been ruled out and calls for such action are still being reviewed by the administration simultaneously to the situation in Friesland.

In other news:

  • Sunrisian forces planned to remain near the border with The Seven United, despite being deemed “unnecessary” by The Seven United Borders Commissioner.

6 CILL AIRIOCHIN SOLDIERS LEFT DEAD, 4 IN HOSPITAL AFTER WEST SOLDIERS OPEN FIRE
Image

BREAKING NEWS BULLETIN!
KINGSBRIDGE, CILL AIRNE - Six Cill Airiochin Soldiers have been reported by the government to have died in the line of duty, with another 4 in hospital in critical condition after Westseaxen troops opened fire against them. The ten soldiers, part of the Cill Airiochin Border Patrol Guard. The CABPG, a regiment in the Army, routinely patrols the Cill Airiochin side of the border between Cill Airne and Eastern Cill Airne. The Government stated that the soldiers in question did return fire across the border.

The names of the 6 soldiers who were killed in the incident have been released. They are Pte 2* Sean O'Rilley of Nenagh, Pte 2* Thomas Monroe of Ballincollig, Tpr 3* Michael Greene of Lisdoonvarna, Cpl Micheal O'Connor of Killinaboy, Sgt Paul O'Connolly of Taghmaconnell, and Cpl Ryan O'Shaughnessy of Manorcunningham. The names of the 4 in hospital have not been released to the media yet. The Government did not confirm if there were any causalities on the Westseaxen side. Briogáidire-Ghinearál Thomas O'Connolly, who's son was amongst those killed, stated "the unit followed protocol. After reporting shots fired from across the border they waited for confirmation from the chain of command before returning fire. After 15 minutes they were ordered to return fire."

Promagistrate Wentworth St. Claire described today's events as a strategic move by the Westseaxen army in an attempt to provoke war. The PM called for an emergency meeting of the Magisterium in the late hours of the evening and did confirm that the Magisterium did vote not to go to war despite Westseaxnaland's violation of the Sovereignty of the Seven Kingdoms by firing across the border. The PM stated "His Grace's Government prefers to seek a diplomatic solution to the growing conflict between both states before such drastic action is taken." He has called for diplomatic talks to be held in a neutral state between both governments before the conflict continues to escalate.
