The end of a nation; reports confirm over 40% of Eklavozski's population is deceased

Reports from studies taken since the beginnings of the Xcadian conflict have show that at least 40% of Eklavozski's population before the crisis in Xcad is now deceased. The devastating conflict has been considered by some as "the worst tragedy in the 21st century." Now, the crisis and conflicts in the Eklavozski region have a new name; The Great Death.

The Great Death began with the Xcadian rebellion. The once proud and beautiful city had been conquered in the 1950s, and since then has been pleading for independence. Late last year the Xcadian people took matters into their own hands and started a rebellion, taking control of the city. After a month of heavy fighting and the extreme bombing of the city, the Eklavozskians finally took back control.

After the incident with INTFIX, everything looked to once again be peaceful, until the Klugin Nuclear Reactor was struck by Xcadian extremists. Radiation leaked out of it, quickly spreading to submerge the city of Merenia, the former capital of Eklavozski. Anarchy ensued the nation. Neighbors turned on one another to gain valuable resources. Cities became battlegrounds where constant fighting took place. Gangs rose in prominence and began mass murderings of anyone opposing them. Cities across Eklavozski became heaps of rubble. Citizens in the north fled south to escape the mass killings, only to find themselves stumbling into fields of radiation and dying. Almost every city in Eklavozski wa engaged in heavy warfare; all but one: Almst.

Almst had managed to maintain stable. After securing the city, they moved on to liberate the rest of southern Eklavozski from the hands of gangs, extremist factions, and anarchists keen on taking control of strategic points. A new nation emerged, named after the city that founded it. It found peace and stability, although it was short lived. The glowing fields of radiation slowly but surely made their way to the capital of Almst, and anarchy in the city sprung again.

Now, Rezuan and USJR troops have managed to stabilize the region. In the following list we will summarize the three areas hit the hardest and explain what happened in each one.

3. Onglosa.

Onglosa used to be a city of almost two million. Now, it quite literally has only a handful of buildings still standing. The history of Onglosa since the initial anarchy is confusing. Onglosa fell into anarchy almost as soon as the reactor was hit, with many people fighting for control of supermarkets, factories, and various depots. Soon, after the defeat of several large gangs, the city was once again stable and allied with neighboring Eklalaz. The Republic of Onglosa and Eklalaz was formed. Onglosa sent troops to liberate a city along the coast to the east about a week later, angering several Eklalaz officials as they had agreed not to launch any offensives. Small issues like this began to pile on top of one another, and the alliance broke down as an army was raised by the angered officials. This started the ROE Civil War, the war most have never heard of. It lasted for 16 days, and then a constant state of anarchy began once again. Several weeks later, several massive bombs were detonated in Onglosa, decimating what little was left of the city. Since then, the city has been considered to be completely abandoned. A joint USJR and Almstian military base still lies to the north of it, though, and is currently in use to help stabilize what is left of the region.

2. Xcad.

Xcad was a country in the 1950s. It's capital bared the same name. Xcad declared war on the former young Republic of Eklavozski. Their invasion was countered, and instead the Eklavozskians managed to take control of the country and annex it. Since the annexation, the people of Xcad have been pleading for independence from Eklavozski, as the Xcadians have disliked the Eklavozskians since ancient times. In late 2015, Xcadian rebels rose up and took control of the city, fighting a long war against the Eklavozskians. The war was a slow one, and was only very brief due to the excessive bombing by the Eklavozskian military. Almost a third of ne city was in ruins, and much of the civilian population remained dead, without food, or homeless. INTFIX attempted to help issue aid to the people of Xcad, but has to withdraw after the Eklavozskian government threatened war if the peacekeepers remained in the city. Shortly after, when the anarchical stage began, Xcad fell into complete chaos; gangs began to wage war for control of the streets, radical Xcadian factions began to try and eradicate all non-Xcadians in the city, and everyday people began murdering one another in attempts to gain power and resources. The city lost a little bit more than a third of their population to the fighting, and the majority of the rest died when they accidentally fled into the radiation to the south. Now, the ruins of the city are secured by Almstian and USJR troops. Almost all of it is abandoned, and bodies litter the streets.

1. Merenia.

Just a little over half a year ago, Merenia was referred to be some as "the most beautiful and prosperous city in Ventismar." Now, it is far from that. It's gardens are dead. The once busy and friendly streets and markets of the city are empty. Bodies can be seen everywhere you go, and all of it lays under a sea of radiation. The city of 2.2 million had a very short-lived anarchical stage that only ended once radiation submerged the people of the city. The estimated 200,000 people that escaped the city fled to Zjukin and met the same fate just a month later. The remaining 150,000 traveled to the city of Almst, where yet again radiation followed anarchy. An estimated 110,000 citizens of Merenia remain alive today, and are currently seeking refuge in southern Almst.

The Great Deah has resulted in the loss of many of Eklavozski's citizens, and is still far from over. As long as the sea of radiation continues to spread, more people will die and more places will fall into anarchy. The situation now rests on the shoulders of nations like Rezua and the USJR who try to keep the peace and rebuild what has been lost.

Special Report: Almst Crisis




SPECIAL REPORT: Onglosa, Almst The city of Onglosa, like the rest of Almst, is a shadow of its former self. Onglosa lies in ruins, the victim of a man made and environmental disaster, the likes of which Sunalaya will soon not forget. Despite being outside of the exclusion zone, the city is in shambles. A majority of the city has been destroyed by fighting amongst its former residences, and several large non-nuclear devises. The city of Onglosa is now home to a join Almst-Soviet military base, which has secured the city’s port and inner parts. Several apartment complexes along the shoreline of the city have been demolished to make an airstrip, which has seen almost constant action since its completion. In the harbor, two USJR ships, a destroyer and one hospital ship, operate. Patrols from the base are frequent, as the city has been quiet for a majority of the past two weeks. Occasionally the cracking of gunfire is heard from the city’s outskirts.

As a part of the Soviet’s mission to aid the reconstruction of Almst, civilians transported on commandeered Almst ferries have been arriving from the south for the past week. Civilians from the south are brought to the city of Onglosa if they agree to work for the government of Almst in reconstruction. Their wage is in protection for their family, food, shelter, and government stipends subsidized by the USJR. Civilians are told that, in their free time, they can build up other forms of commerce. So far all the laborers have been focused on making the inner city habitable for more refugees from the south to work. In the state of emergency, property rights are almost nill. Unless one files a request for new land, or have old documents of proof of ownership, all territory is in the ownership of the state of Almst. As a part of the refugee movement, civilians are promised 20 acres of land in the north in due time. Conditions in the camp are bleak, but improving. As aid from around the world has poured in, generators, field hospitals and even temporary schools have opened up. Military checkpoints manned by Almst volunteers are responsible for maintaining law and order within the inner city.

On the outskirts of the city, the Almst and Soviet presence is more limited. Workers are brought here to log and collect resources under the guard of military police, and in conveys return to the inner city by nightfall. Already the layout of de-forested areas, marked out in 20 acer intervals is clear to see. Despite this, few settlers have ventured into the area to stake a claim and build a home. At one site, USJR Armored Personnel Carriers, several tanks, and supply trucks sit in neat rows next to the main highway to the south west, leading towards Eklalaz. It is expected that the Almst-Soviet forces will move into the city within the week, and begin moving refugees from the south further inland where many can start making a new life for themselves. In the Jamestown Journal interview with General Benedikt Arkhip, the stated mission of the effort is to ‘aid the Almst people with the tools and resources needed for them to rebuild themselves.’ General Arkhip made it clear that the Almst people have a firm tradition of working independently, and that this tradition would be reinforced and encouraged by the Soviet’s mission in the country. “Simply,” the General put it, “We are giving the Almst government and people the tools they need to rebuild and prosper.” The work, however, is labor intensive and grim. In some cities, some are stuck putting bodies into mass graves. In Xcad, the refugee camp is currently focused on this task in over to prevent disease spreading in the city. So far, Xcad’s refugee camp is small, but as more are brought in from Onglosa the population will grow. Like Onglosa, only city’s center is really secure.

The main fear of the current crisis is the nuclear reactors at Klugin and Pezgjin. These two facilities came under attack by terrorists. According to USA reports, the terrorists managed to destroy the main coolant system to both facilities. Both reactor vessels were not damaged, but the uranium inside both of the reactors reached critical levels soon after the loss of cooling, despite emergency efforts made by the crews to insert control rods to stem the fission reactions. With the heat reaching critical levels, a hydrogen explosion in one of the secondary coolant pipes punctured the reactor’s container, and resulted in the leaking of radioactive substances. With no cooling, the uranium inside of both reactors liquefied, leading to the plague that swept over the land. The fallout swept over most of central Almst in a matter of days, and has crept further south since then. Levels at the plant are extremely high, with military personnel being forced to rotate monthly. Containment has been restored at the facility, and stored and spent fuel have been removed by USA Peacekeepers. This waste has been moved to the Sunalaya Radioactive Depository within the USJR.

The resulting radioactive fallout quickly spread to Merenia and led to the evacuation of most towns around the facilities. The USA and USJR have put in an exclusion zone of one hundred kilometers around both facilities, but generally dissuade travelers form the country of Almst. Even the ocean has been contaminated, and fishing near Almst has been prohibited by the Soviet.

To the south, the Soviet and Rezuan military, in cooperation with the USA peacekeeping effort, have been establishing refugee camps far south of the fallout. Military Police conveys keep order in these camps. At the camp’s administration facilities, residence can sign up to go north to work for the Almst government, or enlist locally. Most of the camp’s functions are ran by civilians that work for the government of Almst.

South Sunrisia Developing Anti-Nuclear Missile Laser Technology

The South Sunrisian Revolutionary Guardian Army (SSRGA), the armed forces of our country, have announced that a continuing significant boost to the defense and military budget by the Supreme Leadership and Government has now given South Sunrisia the capabilities to help the national military reach the levels possibly beyond the modern days and closer to the next century. The military has announced that it is currently focused on adding more fresh additions to the SSRGA weaponry and equipment arsenal, which would not just give the armed forces power beyond the capability of defending South Sunrisia’s sovereign borders, but destroy any threat in any battlefield.

Although the SSRGA claims to simultaneously have its’ attention on the development of multiple weaponry and equipment simultaneously, there is one project in the center of the armed forces’ attention, which the Supreme Leadership and Government thought that South Sunrisia should share with the nation and the world. The military representatives had informed the media that the SSRGA is currently in the middle of developing the laser technology devoted specifically to the elimination of nuclear missiles. The lasers are said to be created with the idea of having both a tracking and a lethal function at once, with the rays being made to immediately overheat the missiles and cause them to explode in mid-air. The military has stated at the moment, that the early models are expected to only be able to exist in a form of heavy, portable weapons systems, but if the technology proves to be effective, the later models would then be capable of being mounted to naval ships and other military transport. The SSRGA has even revealed that it pursues to create a model of the weapon that could function in space as well, by being attached to a satellite, however, this is only a future project, as the military says that it currently needs to make sure that the early model is successfully created and is functional. It is unknown whether the laser technology would also be capable to take down not just missiles, but also bombs, however, the military says that additionally, it is focused on creating a version of a similar weapon that could specifically target any type of a bomb as well.

With South Sunrisia facing an international and a USA backlash following our country’s announcement of planning nuclear weapons tests in middle-eastern Sunalaya, the SSRGA has said that the development of anti-nuclear laser technology should not receive negative reactions, seeing to how it is intended to be a defense and not an attack weapon. In fact, the Supreme Leadership and Government have even suggested the possibility that the development of similar military tech might actually be commended, as South Sunrisia is developing ways of how to actually prevent nuclear weapons from flying and hitting targets, therefore also making Sunalaya safer. However, the military has pointed out that certain obstacles still remain, as the USA apparently prohibits nuclear weapons’ tests and missiles would be required, should South Sunrisia wish to test the anti-nuclear lasers upon their creation. Yet, the military says that the political climate might change in the future and the USA might actually become more liberal, when finding out the specifics of what test including nuclear weapons might actually intend and how missiles and bombs may be used.

New Military Base Exchanges: Aznazia and Lindenholt Open Military Bases In North Sunrisia; Creperia Opens A Second Military Base in North Sunrisia; North Sunrisia Increases Military Presence in Creperia
With renewed suspicious developments in the region and around the world, North Sunrisia and allies had once again returned to prioritizing and strengthening defense, as North Sunrisia permits the establishment of 3 new military facilities on its’ territory, while expanding its’ own military presence abroad

The Harmony Pact between North Sunrisia and South Sunrisia is still officially in effect and seems to be holding up as both parties continue upholding its’ terms. So far, no violations have been reported by either North or South and the demilitarization of the common border continues by mutual, approaching its’ conclusion. Meanwhile, every military move by either party in the region or close to it has been bilaterally shared, as agreed upon. Allies of the two countries seem to have agreed to contribute to the development of stability and peaceful resolution by upholding the terms of the Harmony Pact as well, as Creperia gave a solid promise to report its’ military movements, while USJR has recently closed down 2 of its’ formerly 3 military bases in South Sunrisia, allegedly also in compliance with the Harmony Pact. Nevertheless, the atmosphere in the region and the world is slightly beginning to heat up again and despite the preservation of the Harmony Pact, the administration of North Sunrisia states that our country should not be letting down our guard.

South Sunrisia has recently “rocked the boat” by announcing plans to conduct an undetermined number of nuclear tests in middle-eastern Sunalaya as the country’s military has said that it is important to test the functionality of old and new weapons within the arsenal. Knowing that it would cause international controversy, the Supreme Leadership and Government wanted to inform the world in advance in order to explain the true nature of such tests and reject that there was any notion to provoke or destabilize the secure environment in Sunalaya. South Sunrisia’s Prime Minister Rêc Práter was tasked to present his country‘s position and arguments, nevertheless, the backlash still came, in addition to South Sunrisia being warned that nuclear testing is illegal under international law in accordance with the USA Security Council Resolution #2. Since then, South Sunrisia had still not officially cancelled the nuclear tests nor postponed them, however, any new comments on the matter had not been heard. Our country’s government was skeptical about these planned tests along with the international community, however, due to the North Sunrisian leadership being informed in advance by the South Sunrisian side and later the rest of Sunalaya hearing about it as well, all norms had seemingly remained preserved and no official violations took place.

Not too long after, South Sunrisia has announced that its’ increased defense and military budget has permitted the country to start developing weaponry and military technology that might make it one of the most advance armed forces in Sunalaya. One of the weapons systems that the country is currently working on and plans to develop more advanced prototypes of in the future, is the anti-nuclear laser weapons systems, which is meant to destroy nuclear missiles in mid-air by tracking them, causing them to overheat and exploding in the sky. Early prototype is already in development and the military of South Sunrisia has said to be planning on creating a weapon of similar principle that might help deal with nuclear bombs as well, as the laser is only suitable for missiles and rockets. Although this project was identically reported about to the government of North Sunrisia and later the international community, suspicions had started to arise internationally that South Sunrisia may be planning something or preparing for something. Despite the South Sunrisian leadership claiming that it has no negative intetions and is only building up its’ own defense capabilities, many figures – political and military, in North Sunrisia, have started giving hints that our country may have let its’ guard down quite slightly and that security priorities needed to be looked over once again. However, any action or moves would identically need to be coordinated with South Sunrisia, seeing to how the other side has effectively cooperated with our country by providing information on all steps made, which would mean that North Sunrisia has to respectively answer the same way in accordance with the mutual Harmony Pact agreement.

Recently, North Sunrisia’s Defense Dyad ally Creperia has increased the number of permanently-stationed combat-ready soldiers in North Sunrisia from original 1,400 to 7,000 as a security reassurance in the face of South Sunrisian-related uncertainty. Naturally, the neighboring state to our south was informed on this move by the government of Creperia. Moreover, North Sunrisia has recently gotten “reacquainted” with two of its’ allies, which it has not been in contact or did not cooperate with for quite a while now. Those countries are the WESTO ally Aznazia and a country which has been a close partner of the formerly-united Sunrisia, but is now an ally of North Sunrisia – Lindenholt. After dialogue with the leaderships of Aznazia and Lindenholt separately, the administration of President Áest Sâlutár has received security reassurances and promises of military support from both allies countries, as an agreement was made that both Aznazia and Lindenholt would each open a military base in North Sunrisia, with 5,000 Aznazian troops and 400 Lindian troops being stationed permanently.

Further negotiations had been made with the Defense Dyad ally Creperia as well, as Miraya has expressed a wish to reassure North Sunrisia and boost its’ commitments to our country’s national security, despite having already proven that through the recent increase to 7,000 Creperian troops in North Sunrisia. After negotiation, Creperia was granted permission to open a second military base in North Sunrisia, where 3,000 soldiers would operate. With the two Creperian bases combined and the numbers of military personnel in them being put together, it would make up to exactly 10,000 Creperian soldiers stationed in North Sunrisia in total. That would not be the highest number of foreign soldiers in North Sunrisia, seeing to how Rhodevus also has 10,000 soldiers stationed in our country with 2 military bases. Meanwhile, Smoya also has 2 military bases in North Sunrisia, however, the country has the highest number of troops stationed in North Sunrisia out of all other countries, which 15,000. Following a deal with the government of Creperia, the Sâlutár administration reminded that the Defense Dyad is a mutual defense pact and although North Sunrisia would currently not be able to pay back Creperia with an identical security contribution, our country has promised to increase the number of soldiers in our military base in Creperia from the current 1,600 to 8,000 in order to at least try to closely match the new number of Creperian troops in our country.

The government and military representatives have said that there are no intentions to cause any provocations and that this move is a gesture of North Sunrisia reinforcing its’ alliances – old and new, and working towards a pursuit to defend itself, the region and the rest of Sunalaya not just from potential regional threats, but also the global ones, which had been a subject of controversy among the international community for a recent period. President Sâlutár said that the North Sunrisian–South Sunrisian cooperation would continue further and hopefully prosper.

FANTANIA DECLARES ITSELF HOLY EMPIRE, CROWNS CHARLES ARDRO EMPEROR
The large Island nation of Fantania has today declared itself a Holy Empire, this coming after a series of tribal wars between the island chain's varying tribes.

From time immemorial, the island and surrounding isles of Fantania have stood as a collection of tribes with similar languages, looks, and cultures. These tribes, from the stone age to the modern age, have competed against each other, both through the sword, through the pen, and through the currency. Today, this has changed, as peace talks held in the Tortas Imperialis have finally unified the tribes under one nation and one Emperor. The new nation is officially named The Holy Empire of Fantania and her Isles, however it is to be more commonly referred to as the Holy Empire of Fantania or Fantania.

The Emperor which has been crowned is an older man of 56, a king of the biggest tribe in the island chain, named Charles Ardro. Charles Ardro, born 56 years ago near then Rollama, has spent his entire life as a warlord for the Tantree Tribe, a warlike tribe which held 60% of Fantania Majorila, and has ruled over the Tantree Tribe for nearly 30 years, expanding it to include the major cities of Kypok and Allahje.

The Peace Talks have been hailed as the saving grace for the continent, which has never seen true peace in over 1,004 years and, before that, never. The results of the formation of this new country are yet to be seen but are expected to put ripples through the international community which has mostly viewed this failed colony as a backwards nation of savages.

Race For Prime Minister Is Heating Up

In the past few weeks, candidates running for prime minister have started showing which are the strongest, and who will run against the current incumbent, Edward Mahoney. Most of them have focused stressing their distaste for Mahoney's policies and stance on issues such as immigration, the economy, and foreign relations. Here is a few remarks that have made headlines in several popular newspapers and TV programs. Not all candidate's statements are here, but the juicy ones are.

"The current prime minister is is no shape to hold that office," stated Joshua Wendel, one of the candidates ,"He never seems to be able to lead Parliament efficiently and effectively, plus he does hold a bias over certain issues. He also tends to say one thing and do the exact opposite, plus he also is known to raise taxes without providing a reason, which many of Belantica's hardworking taxpayer do not appreciate. I even heard rumors that he spent tax money on a yacht! That won't happen if I'm elected, as I know the taxpayer is under a hefty burden, and I want to help them out with that by gutting useless and unnecessary programs and decreasing spending across the board. I also see it as a way to grow our economy more".

"Mahoney caused problems," says Winston Krump, the current governor of New Albany," He is ruining our country every day. He never makes up his mind, he backs out of conflicts and foreign affairs, and he lets too many immigrants and illegals into our country that steal jobs from honest, hardworking Belanticans! When I am, and I will be, Prime Minister,I will fix the issues at hand. I'll stop the immigration problem and make it harder to get here. I'll build up our military to show that Belantica is serious about ending terrorism and stopping communism. I'll make sure that we become and diplomatic powerhouse in term to foreign trade and relations. I have successfully run the great state of New Albany for 5 years now, I know what I'm doing. I am able to get my state legislator to do more work than the punks in Center City! I am also an experienced businessman and made a lot of money. Vote me, I'll make Belantica great again!".

"Mahoney is just weak", states Marie Anderson," He simply isn't fit for the job. Being the prime minister mean you have to face the challenges. He is more concerned with his golf trips and yacht parties to think about the needs of Belantica. He seems disconnected with the younger generations and doesn't see the true desires of the people. I know that young people in our nation are having a rough time, and I want to be able to give them a little extra support they need. Of course, I believe the rich of Belantica should be paying more of their fair share, and give and lower and middle classes a nice tax break".

"Of course they're going to throw shame at me," say Mahoney himself," but that just means they know to run their mouths. But you have to seriously look at these people running and wonder, are they that reliable? Look at Krump, he runs New Albany, but didn't tell you about him closing up schools and jacking up the overall cost of living, not to mention he acts like a child in front of millions and flaunts his wealth like no tomorrow. Anderson is just some civil rights that the rebellious youth put up as their poster girl, granted she is smart, but her supporters aren't and have false dreams. And Wendel is just the opposition leader who is tried to me helping our country from hurting itself! Plus he makes up blatant lie about me all the time.I know what needs to be done to keep Belantica the way it is. We have a great nation, and we need to be careful with changing anything. Plus I have experience, as I have worked my way up in politics, I got my start as a humble city counselor in Nashoba 30 years ago, and Nashoba is a city of great success. I want to make the rest of Belantica like my favorite city! Just right now, we have people who don't like the way I do things. Plus it's good to stay out of other nation's affairs, it's not our place.

There is expected to be more shaming and bashing over the next few months, as the election season is only a few months out. Many believe this will be an important elections over the future of the nation. EMPEROR CHARLES ARDRO TO VISIT TORTAS, INSPECT MILITARY BASES
The Emperor of the Holy Empire, Charles Ardro, is planned to visit the Tortas over the weekend on a trip to inspect military bases of the newly-formed Armed Forces of Fantania.

The Tortas, a collection of small islands off of Fanta, have long stood as a home for pirates, traders, smugglers, and military personnel. Only recently since a ceasefire was declared between the tribes of Fantania last year have the Tortas been calm, due to the local tribes being able to finally police the islands properly.

Since the founding of Fantania a week ago, the army- which was started in secret 9 months before the signing of the Treaty of Unity of the Tribes of Fantania- has begun to rearm the hundreds of fortifications around the chain of islands, as well as build new military instillation there. So far, over 15,000 soldiers and nearly 100 tanks have been positioned on the islands.



Emperor Charles has said that he has the highest of hopes for his visit around the Tortas, believing that "The Army of Fantania has been and shall be the best fighting force in the world." His trip shall last three days, from late Friday into Monday morning, when he will make a speech in Imperiallis about his journey and the state of the military.

So far, the only thing the Tortas has to offer in terms of serious instillation and bases are two bunker fortifications on Tortas Imperialis, and a naval base off the coast of Allahje, which is home to 20% of the navy's ships, the rest being scattered about in the Sinoria Sea.

EAST/WEST ROLLAMA TO BE UNITED BY 2017, ARTIFICIAL RIVER TO BE FILLED BY LATE 2016

The Governor of West Rollama has announced that with the formation of the nation of Fantania, the two cities of East Rollama and West Rollama have entered and agreed upon terms to unite the cities, the two halves of one city separated by an artificial lake during the Fanta War of Conquest in the 1550's.

The City of Rollama has known nothing but war, standing between two large tribes- the former tribe which dominated 55% of Fantania's current land, the Tantree Tribe, and a huge naval power in the Kliven Family Tribe. The two tribes have been at war since at least the 1400's, when the city became the artificial border for the two tribes. In 1553, during Charles Hapta VII's War on the tribes of Fantania(Charles seeking to unify the islands under the banner of the Tantree Tribe), the Tantree tribe pushed the Klivens back to the point where an artificial channel was built directly through the city, essentially turning the Kliven homeland into an island. For the next few hundred years, Rollama would remain the main area of conquest between the two tribes, divided by the river.

Workers from around Fantania have been allowed into the city to begin work on filling in the water, as well as helping to rebuild the waterfront districts of the war-torn city. Meanwhile, private companies have begun lending construction vehicles and workers to the rebuilding of the city. About 200 soldiers have also been moved in to help. Architects predict that the city should officially be reunited as early as August 2016, however the entirety of the river will not be filled until around February 2017.

Nuranto Construction Boom To Hit New High
Ever since the economic boom in late 2011, many cities across Belantica have been growing. Nuranto is a special case, as this city is experiencing three times the growth over the national average. Between 2012 and 2014, an estimated 30,000 residents moved in and over 6,000 new highrises, offices, houses, and condos were constructed. many economic forecasters are predicting that Nuranto will continue to grow at a steady rate as long as the city is vigilant on handling issues.


The large-scale development is a good thing, but the city is situated on a small amount of land. Because of being on a peninsula, the price per foot is about 35% higher than most other cities in Belantica, thanks in part to being a business center and limited space. This leads to higher costs of both renting and owning property in most areas of the city. But many of those who own the land is being developed have decided the best solution is more highrises. According to the Nuranto Development Association, "The price of land only applies to a building's footprint and/or to the area of the land the property is occupying, and therefore height has no effect on prices. Highrises enable affordable housing for citizens in cities across Sunalaya, including Nuranto. Prices will vary depending on height, construction costs, location, and amenities, and we advise to look at multiple options." The city government is now offering incentives to encourage property owners to help with the effort of redeveloping lower density residences to expand.

Many now have concerns over the city's dated infrastructure. Nuranto is known for its extensive streetcar network that runs on most major streets. But the city has an underdeveloped metro system, dated buses,and horrible road construction that and many believe could hurt long-term growth. A spokesperson from the Nuranto transport Authority stated," The NTA is needing a massive overhaul and expansion in order to better serve the city and surrounding areas. However, we are lacking the capital to fund these projects, but we are making progress on replacing the bus and streetcar fleets to meet customer demands. Expansion of the metro will take time, as the costs of building new tunnels and stations is expensive. We are working on a 5 and 10-year plan that will establish goals for us to meet. These were created with customer and employee input as the basis to what we will achieve." They went to to say that this plan will need to include the road system and partnerships with Suffolk Electric, the largest private-railroad in the region, and other transportation firms that operate in and around Nuranto.

The city offers great views of the surrounding landscape, excellent education and healthcare services, it's one of the safest cities to be in, and is becoming a haven for those in technology and business. MULSTA Launches A Peacekeeping Intervention In Almst
The Multinational Support Team for Almst (MULSTA), a second non-USA peacekeeping taskforce assembled by North Sunrisia, launches a mission in pursuit of stabilizing Almst through peacekeeping relief, recovery and counter-crisis efforts

North Sunrisia takes a second aim at a past experiment with an identical goal of stabilizing the same and currently most troubled region in Sunalaya. The government and military have jointly announced that North Sunrisia and allies would be attempting to repeat the INTFIX scenario a second time, this time in the Republic of Almst, which is a break-away and neighboring state to Eklavozski, where the INTFIX peacekeeping effort was taking place originally. By comparison, the current situation in Almst is not as intense as it had been in Eklavozski at the time and Almst is receiving more USA attention and action in comparison to what Eklavozski had, however, the occurrences in the country are still highly-troubling for the people of Almst and the international community and time is running out, according to the North Sunrisian government and military representatives. The authorities state that with better coordination and differences in the situation, a second aim at an INTFIX-like effort in Almst should be more successful in comparison to the original, which had mixed results as some goals had been accomplished, while others were not.

In the past, during the escalation of the Xcadian conflict in Eklavozski to its’ most intense levels, the administration of President Émen Séntân had called out the USA for the organization’s continuing failures to uphold its’ responsibilities as an international peacekeeping body and therefore decided to take the matters into its’ own hands to hopefully attract global attention to the problem. North Sunrisia has assembled a non-USA peacekeeping taskforce – the “International Force in Xcad” or “INTFIX”, consisting of 7 countries, including our own as a de facto leader of the coalition. Alongside North Sunrisia, the countries involved were Zanera, Lindenholt, WESTO ally Aznazia, the Unity Accords and WESTO ally Rhodevus, the Defense Dyad ally Creperia and the Treaty of Unity and WESTO ally Smoya. The aim of INTFIX was to suppress conflict in the territory of Xcad by prohibiting the belligerents – the Eklavozskian Military and the Freedom Fighters of Xcad (FFX) to fight, enforce a cease-fire, protect civilians, provide humanitarian aid and relief and afterwards begin a recovery effort by rebuilding the territory’s infrastructure and providing all the required aid to the people. Despite INTFIX insisting on neutrality and stating that the taskforce would remain in Xcad and Eklavozski only temporary either until the fighting stop or until the USA begins and international peacekeeping effort, the authoritarian government of Eklavozski and USJR, which was providing direct military support to the regime in the fight against Xcadian separatists, had called out INTFIX as an invasion force and gave a strict deadline to withdraw or threatened war. Knowing the players involved, the INTFIX countries realized that such an armed conflict would not have been a bigger regional strife, but would have actually turned into a Third World War, due to the players involved. To save the future of the world, INTFIX withdrew, however, some negotiation helped a number of INTFIX countries to stay behind and provide independent peacekeeping assistance in coordination with Eklavozskian authorities. The mission was not completed fully, however, INTFIX did fulfil a number of objectives, including attracting the attention of the USA to the Eklavozskian problem. Nevertheless, the enforced withdrawal of INTFIX also lead to the unrest spreading further across Eklavozski, not just in Xcad, and therefore, the USA’s mission only became more difficult and continues to be this way, as more problems are required to be dealt with, which likely could have been avoided.

With the USA peacekeepers having taken over the nurturing of Eklavozski and its’ people, all focus now falls onto Almst, a break-away state of Eklavozski, which has established itself as one of the newest sovereign nations and which has attempted to escape from the troubles of its’ former parent state through separation, but was still not entirely able to do so. No official armed conflict is taking place in Almst as it did in Eklavozski and Almst is actually managing to save its’ status as a sovereign state and avoid anarchy by having a government which is attempting to take control of the situation, however, stabilization of the state is still required as the national authorities are not entirely able to deal with all the problems individually. Apart from a number of problems which the break-away state faces, the larger and more notorious one, which endangers the region and the world is the spread of radiation from the explosion of nuclear reactors in Eklavozski, a cloud which has now crossed over into Almst. The USA is actively dealing with the problem and although as many nations from the international community as possible are trying to help and contribute to the USA effort, Rezua and USJR remain to be the countries doing most of the work as regional powers and therefore the problem could not be deal with quickly, if everything rests on the shoulders of these two nations only. Therefore, the administration of President Áest Sâlutár has decided to apply the INTFIX method, originally created by the predecessor government, a second time and this time hopefully to more successful results, in order to deal with the urgent problem.

The President and top generals had said that the aim is not to have the new taskforce to take over the stabilization operations in Almst, but to reinforce what is already being done and buy the USA Security Council more time before they could gather for another session and form a new and more effective plan of how to get the entire international community to help deal with the problem which threatens the region and might threaten the world. The initial goal is to have the taskforce only as a temporary reinforcement tool, but to ultimately make the USA the main body which will help Almst, Eklavozski and the region finish off the problem. A top general of the North Sunrisian Liberty Defense Army has said that the new taskforce has already successfully been assembled through contact between the North Sunrisian government and the administrations of allied countries. He had confirmed that all 6 countries which had participated in INTFIX alongside North Sunrisia – Aznazia, Rhodevus, Lindenholt, Zanera, Creperia and Smoya would return to form the new taskforce, with addition to one new participant – Rezua. Although Rezua has already been carrying out the peacekeeping effort in Almst under the banner of the USA and independently and continues to do so, the country would join the new taskforce, which means that the Empire would now be working within the coalition for the same goal of stabilizing the region. INTFIX in Eklavozski originally had 7 countries participating in it, while the new taskforce would have 8, which will hopefully mean that the coalition would be more powerful and effective and successfully complete all of its’ objectives, in comparison to its’ preceding counterpart for Eklavozski.

The military has said that the new non-USA peacekeeping taskforce has been backed by the North Sunrisian National Defense Council and the Department of Security, its’ formation and authorization of objectives has received unilateral support from the government of North Sunrisia and that the new non-USA peacekeeping taskforce would be called – the “Multinational Support Team for Almst” or “MULSTA”. President Áest Sâlutár has said that MULSTA and its’ mission has received the blessing of the government of Almst and therefore it makes this peacekeeping operation more legitimate in comparison to INTFIX, where the consent of the Eklavozskian authorities was not present. The military has once again reminded that the goal of the operation is to be a temporary effort and is meant to buy time for the USA to form a solid plan and strategy to resolve the regional problem. Nevertheless, it would not mean that the taskforce would be putting in minimal effort as MULSTA would be doing everything in its’ capabilities to terminate the problem. With the Rezuan–USJR effort having already shown effect of progress, it is believed that an addition of 7 more countries, which would reinforce them, would help deal with the problem even quicker. The government and military have jointly pointed out the possibility, which was previously brought up by the Rezuan side, that some tensions with USJR are a possibility, seeing to how the country may not be pleased with a primarily-western coalition moving so close to its’ borders once more, however, the military command and the administration had pointed out that Almstian consent for intervention has been received and that MULSTA is there to work with USJR and not to “bicker” over anything.

The government has pointed out that in comparison to INTFIX, MULSTA would only have more participant states, but would also require more funding, as the level of the threat is different in comparison to last time. Although dealing with military forces was tough for INTFIX, MULSTA would be forced to deal with destructive spreading radiation, which would require more advanced and modern protective and containment gear to be used by the taskforce peacekeepers. Nevertheless, radiation would still not remain MULSTA’s only priority, as the taskforce still seeks to help prevent anarchy in Almst, help avoid possible civil strife, provide any humanitarian or relief aid for all people and help rebuild infrastructure. Despite officially being called – the “Multinational Support Team for Almst”, the military command has said that MULSTA is also ready to get involved in Eklavozski and neighboring countries if the situation becomes severe over there as well, however, hopes remain that the USA will still assume the main role in dealing with the regional problems. The components of MULSTA would be identical to INTFIX, being comprised of well-equipped and trained, yet non-combat military personnel and geared-up humanitarian workers and relief teams, with the possibility of more powerful components being added, seeing to how it was already pointed out that MULSTA may require more funding than INTFIX. The conditions of participation in the effort remain identical to INTFIX as well, because although the taskforce is currently comprised of 8 countries only, more nations may join MULSTA, should they desire to contribute.

This morning, President Áest Sâlutár has confirmed that MULSTA has already headed out to Almst and is currently in the early stages of beginning its’ operations. The head of state wished good luck to the taskforce and thanked all of North Sunrisia’s allies for their contribution and commitment. Meanwhile, the heads of our country’s armed forces have affirmed that they will be putting in maximum effort to make sure that MULSTA is 100% successful and would not face any “bumps on the road” as INTFIX did.

INTFIX 2.0: Multinational Support Team for Almst

Vredsteijn, Lindenholt-- early in the morning several Royal Lindian Air Force aircraft were loaded up with supplies to be dropped over the skies of Almst. After leaders of 7 countries, and our's, decided that they'd be deploying aid to Almst that is now under threat from a nuclear disaster.

Although the mission is officially called MULSTA, the mission quickly got its nickname: INTFIX 2.0. The mission aims at supplying the population of Almst with supplies. The Lindian supplies are laid out for a family of 4 to last them a week. It includes canned food, bottled water, blankets, medical supplies, instructions and also includes a handbook detailing the symptoms of radiation sickness and ways to prevent exposure. The food and water lasts a family of 4 about a week.

After much debate in parliament Lindenholt finally decided to join the mission. Labour Party MPs did not support the motion of joining MULSTA, as they feared a reaction from the USJR. The USJR is currently active in Almst after the happenings in Eslazlovksi. The MPs accused the cabinet that they and the rest of the western allies are trying to provoke the USJR.

As of yet there hasn't been a reaction from Jamestown, but chances are high that the USJR will not like the actions taken by the west.

TOP FANTANIAN GENERAL DECLARES THAT GREATER FANTA WILL BE FORMED "WITHIN 5 YEARS"

Audio leaked from a pre-speech by the Fantanian Armed Force's leading general, Jose Klitav, revealed the the military has begun preparing for the creation of the Greater Fantanian State, Greater Fanta, and soon.

The audio, about 5 minutes long, reveals the details behind the training, how it would have been made public, and what the end result would have been. According to General Klivat, it involves around short, one sided diplomatic negotiations with nearby states or a possible war to bring them under one banner.

"Greater Fanta" is an idea which has existed since the dawn of Fantanian culture, the idea of uniting areas which speak Fantanian languages and look Fantanian under one flag. However, colonization, interbreeding of colonizers and natives and forced conversions suppressed this idea from ever happening. Until now, all attempts at unifying the Fantanian lands have ended in disaster.

What the possible formation of Greater Fanta "within five years" means is uncertain as what would happen in this state is still a mystery, however many people in the military seem hellbent on forming it.

Down For Another Round—Avian Union Survives In Close Call

In a set of historic votes, the three countries of Philomachus, Gallinago, and Scolopax have decided that a continued alliance was to benefit their peoples in the long term, and after a historically close vote in Nemoricola, Gallinago, each country has renewed their vows for the next twenty five years.

On February 25, 2015, the Gallinagan Government published the first in a series of papers intended to show how a constitutional platform will be put in place in the event of a yes vote in an independence referendum. "Gallinago's Future: from the Referendum to Independence and a Written Constitution" suggested that Gallinago could be an independent state by late March 2016.

As for the Scolopaci, a sizable grassroots campaign for a Native Corentian state has taken hold of the Isle, with Scolopaci Chieftain Solretir as its head. Solretir has called for a "native unification under one, just country... with the Native Corentian population as its priority." He has denounced the Avian Union for "leaving the Scolopaci people out to dry" on civil and economic issues.

Lord Jenkins of Philomachus, despite posturing the AU to become one of Sunalaya's main players on the political stage, and receiving the highest ratings of any Ruffian Lord or Lady in history (78%), said that he "understands the frustration held in Nemoricola and Scolopax," and that he has "met with both heads involved." Despite the ten-hour talk held by the three gentlemen, Gallinago has gone ahead with their referendum, and Scolopax is expected to follow suit in short time.

Soviet Calls Out "Unilateral Action", Emphasizes Cooperation over One-Sided Action


Jamestown 2:35 PM JST The Republic’s silence on the development of the situation in Almst has finally been broken. At two thirty, Jamestown Standard time, the press core was welcomed into the Kremlin by Volodya Arkhip. One could tell that the situation in the capital is tense. For the second time in the past year, a western coalition has formed in the face of clear disapproval by the USJR. The first coalition, called the International Forces Xcad in INTFIX, was created to overthrow the Eklavozski regime. That situation was ended after posturing by the Mortimer administration prevented the wrongful invasion of that country. The country of Eklavozski, however, was not to see peace. Two terrorist attacks on the country’s nuclear reactors threw the country into chaos, resulting in the collapse of the Eklavozski government. Within days the country, once stable and returning to peace, broke down into chaos. The situation continued to dissolve as massive explosions rocked the city of Onglosa, which was a city-state at the time. With most of the northern part of the country breaking down into chaos, the nation of Almst rose from the ashes. In the south, the government of Almst restored order and promised to uphold the treaties made between the country and the USJR. Joint international efforts made by United Sunalayan Assembly Resolution ten and eleven started the process of reconstruction and containment. Through those two resolution, the international community began to salvage the nuclear reactors at Klugin and Pezgjin. With the help of the USA, these reactors are no longer leaking radiation to the environment.

For the past month, Communists Reich, Rezuan, Republican, and to a lesser extent western nations have all participated in the humanitarian effort in Almst. These efforts though could not stop the spread of radiation to a majority of the middle part of the country. The effort by the USJR and Rezuans have been the most successful, with the southern part of the country remaining in order and stability. Refugees have been transported north to the abandoned cities, and have started the process of rebuilding. The mission has been delegating security, reconstruction, and other tasks to the Almst government and civilians, encouraging the local population to ‘rebuild Almst for its people’, and not with the large footprint of an international presence. Over the past few weeks, the nation has been in calm. The continued Rezuan and USJR effort had expanded order to the heartland of northern cities, with stability and the rule of law returning to the land.

In today’s press conference, Volodya Arkhip began with stating the amount of money and manpower spent by the Soviet in the mission to rebuild Almst, the sum, he stated, was already in excess of twenty billion Jasoons, and with the support of nearly ten thousand personnel. The effort, he stated, is with the help of thousands of Almst citizens who ‘have braved north to rebuild their nation.” Finally, the man touched upon the latest development in the story of Almst.

“Today, several nations have declared a renewed effort to rebuild the nation of Almst. It is to our utmost disappointment that this declaration to support the people of Almst did not come sooner. For months the USA Peacekeeping effort in Almst has been woefully undersupplied and underequipped, relying for the most part on manpower from Rezua, the Communists Reich, and of course, the Soviet Republic. Yes, several nations have sent engineers and supplies to Almst, but their amount was disappointing and downright inhumane for the sheer size of the tragedy that we, the neighbors of Almst, have had to watch and bear the brunt of. Now, these nations have suddenly decided to backtrack. Instead of going through diplomatic channels, such as the United Sunalaya Assembly what has already proven itself in this crisis, the nation’s consisting of MULSTA have decided to unilaterally take actions in Almst. Let me be the first to tell you that these actions where uncalled for.
Instead of relying on cooperation and communication, these nations have decided to sidestep the two largest humanitarian parties in Almst, and have not even come forward to communicate and coordinate our efforts. The fact of the matter is simple. If the nations comprising of MULSTA truly wanted to help the nation of Almst, they would have come forward to the USJR.

Why? Ladies and gentlemen, we have the logistics to truly aid the people of Almst in a capacity that the MULSTA nations cannot without our help. Already the USJR, under the USA mission, has built airfields in the cities of Eklalaz, Onglosa, Ecad and Ajfan. The mission has also rebuilt the ports in Onglosa and Ajfan, and stabilized the city of Almst, allowing its logistical hubs to be used. Many may call the efforts by the MULSTA ones that jeopardize east/west relations. The President sees it otherwise. This misguided effort to help the Almst people can be improved.

We hereby welcome the MULSTA to cooperate with the current USJR and Communist Reich forces in Almst, and overlook the fact that they have failed to do so. In addition, unlike those who do not communicate, we seek cooperation and communication. To confront the concerns made my MULSTA on the USA, our government has just released a new Resolution to swiftly deal with not only the Almst crisis, but any and all future crises. We will hand over all our efforts to this new, joint chain of command, and will continue to aid the people in Almst through the Assembly.

We hope that the lesson from this event has been learned. Rather than unilateral actions, the international community must learn that going through the Assembly to address concerns, or through contacting one another, we can solve the problems confronting our world.

In United Sunalayan Assembly Security Council Emergency Resolution Twelve, the issues of communication and cooperation are solved. A new chain of command for the USA Peacekeeping missions will be created. Our government has stated that it will back the Rezuan candidate Helen Lizabont as the first Supreme Commander of a United Sunalayan Assembly Peacekeeping mission.

Ladies and gentlemen, the world must learn that it must cooperate in order to address the concerns of the world at large. Thank you.” The Press Secretary next answered questions from the media. In his answers the man made it clear that the Mortimer administration was disappointed in the west’s actions and their sidestepping of the USA. “If MULSTA wanted to aid the USA, then they should have gone to the body first. However, this action will not stop us from doing what is right.” The secretary continued to state that the USJR would not take any military actions against the MULSTA forces, but rather “…hope that they dedicate their supplies to the USAPK effort and let us help the Almst people in the best way possible.” It was also said that the entire USJR force in Almst would be put under the control of the so called Supreme Commander of the USAPK mission in Almst.

South Sunrisia To Carry Out Aerial And Naval Rotations Around USJR Following MULSTA’s Entrance Into Almst

The neighboring North Sunrisia has assembled a new non-USA peacekeeping taskforce – the “Multinational Support Team for Almst” or “MULSTA” in order to deal with the escalating crisis in the Republic of Almst, a country which used to form about 50% of territory of Eklavozski, but broke away during internal strife, which lead to the country’s collapse. Despite breaking away, Almst is dealing with the repercussions of the Eklavozskian crisis, as the nuclear meltdown in Eklavozski has caused large levels of radiation to now float into Almst, creating a threat which endangers the developing country and could endanger the region and later the rest of Sunalaya.

The USA has taken action to deal with the crisis in both what is left of Eklavozski and in Almst, as the Security Council, which South Sunrisia is an official member of, has adopted resolution authorizing strong peacekeeping and stabilization efforts by the international community in these crisis zones. Although the USA continues its’ work, North Sunrisia has felt that the ongoing peacekeeping effort is not effective or moving fast enough and therefore decided to take independent action to reinforce the stagnant USA effort and possibly force the international body to return to new sessions and form a stronger plan, while North Sunrisia’s efforts buy time. North Sunrisia has decided to apply an identical formula as the time, when it attempted to deal with the Xcadian conflict in Eklavozski and that is by assembling an independent non-USA taskforce to carry out peacekeeping objectives, which are officially in USA’s jurisdiction. The “International Force in Xcad” or “INTFIX” had both successes and failures as it had indeed saved many lives and helped the territory recover, however, with threats of war from the government of Eklavozski, INTFIX had to pull out early and did not complete all of its’ work to the fullest. Fortunately, the USA’s attention was attracted and the international peacekeeping body took over the effort of attempting to stabilize Eklavozski. Now, North Sunrisia will seemingly attempt to do the same in Almst, given the fact that the country is in a better condition by comparison to what Eklavozski was at the time, no official war is taking place within the territory and the North Sunrisian authorities report of having received Almstian government’s consent, whereas INTFIX did not ask permission for intervention from Eklavozskian regime at the time.

The second installment of the same non-USA peacekeeping franchise by North Sunrisia is “Multinational Support Team for Almst” or “MULSTA”, however, many call it by its’ nickname INTFIX 2.0 due to similarities between the two. Peacekeeping, stabilization and recovery objectives are identical and the government and military of North Sunrisia have said that MULSTA would work in Almst and possibly even surrounding areas only temporary, as the true objective is to encourage the USA to fully take over the effort and strengthen its’ commitment to fixing the problem. MULSTA consists of the same countries as INTFIX did – North Sunrisia, Rhodevus, Aznazia, Lindenholt, Zanera, Creperia and Smoya, with an addition of a new member – Rezua, which had previously operated in Almst alongside USJR. INTFIX consisted of 7 nations, MULSTA consists of 8 and the North Sunrisian Military has said that the taskforce would require larger financing in order to help deal with the untouchable enemy, which is radiation, by providing the coalition with better gear for the self-defense of the peacekeepers and the protection of civilians and possibly allied peacekeeping personnel outside MULSTA, more specifically, the USA peacekeepers.

North Sunrisia was not required to inform South Sunrisia of this military move, as the terms of the Harmony Pact only require to coordinate activities in Corentia, while operations outside the region do not fall into the category. Nevertheless, the Supreme Leadership and Government were still aware that North Sunrisia was planning intervention in Almst, as the North Sunrisian authorities had given hints and even openly spoke about it. South Sunrisia became informed of this due to the recent period of active dialogue between South Sunrisia and North Sunrisia, as the sides had shown initiative of discussing closer ties and clarifying certain recent signs of military build-up on both sides, referring to South Sunrisian planned nuclear tests and anti-nuclear weapons’ development and the expansion of foreign military presence in North Sunrisia. Prime Minister Rêc Práter has told the media that South Sunrisia regrets of not informing our country’s closest ally USJR of North Sunrisian plans to initiate another form of western military move close to Soviet borders, despite being aware of it. The reason why this comment was made was because USJR was concerned with the illegal of intervention in INTFIX at the time and would likely be concerned with the involvement of MULSTA in Almst, which is also close to USJR geographically.

When asked about South Sunrisia’s position regarding MULSTA, the Prime Minister has said that the Supreme Leadership and Government believe that MULSTA has good intentions and indeed does seek to reinforce the stagnant USA effort in the region, nevertheless, our country still questions the legitimacy of the MULSTA taskforce, seeing to how only the USA has official jurisdiction to carry out peacekeeping in Almst and Eklavozski, unless MULSTA would have been approved by the USA in advance, which it was not. The Prime Minister said that MULSTA would not receive material support from South Sunrisia and that our country would instead focus on support the USA peacekeeping mission in the region to strengthen it, as well as uphold its’ member state responsibilities by calling for a new Security Council resolution, which would aim at creating a stronger, clearer, more coordinated and more effective USA strategy of how to deal with the problem. Meanwhile, despite no negative outlook on MULSTA, the Supreme Leadership and Government had reaffirmed that South Sunrisia does question the legitimacy of the peacekeeping carried out by MULSTA and does understand that the taskforce may cause security concerns for the ally – USJR.

Although having no intention to sabotage or threaten MULSTA’s mission, Lucera wants to reassure South Sunrisia’s strong commitment to the mutual defense between USJR and South Sunrisia, seeing to how the allied country has proven its’ commitment to the bilateral protection of each other for a long time. The Supreme Leadership and Government have ordered for the South Sunrisian Revolutionary Guardian Army (SSRGA) to begin regular rotation of military forces around USJR as long as MULSTA remains in the region. The South Sunrisian Air Force would conduct aerial policing near and around USJR airspace, while the South Sunrisian Naval Forces would have fleets stationed and patrolling near the territorial waters of USJR. Due to USJR not having requested such action from South Sunrisia, the SSRGA would not trespass into USJR’s sovereign skies or waters, but would remain close as reassurance of support and protection. The action was authorized unilaterally by the Supreme Council and Consultative Assembly and the South Sunrisian Military would begin its’ objectives tomorrow. Supreme Leader Víc Sêrria has said that he understands that USJR is more powerful than South Sunrisia, however, the mutual defense treaty between our countries cannot be unilateral with just USJR protecting South Sunrisia. The commitment to dual security has to on an identical level from both sides and therefore South Sunrisia is required to show that it is willing to put in an identical amount of work to defend USJR as much as USJR is willing to defend South Sunrisia.

Supreme Leader Sêrria has said – “The USJR needs to know that South Sunrisia is not abusing this mutual defense pact between our countries by having USJR be a brick wall for South Sunrisia to hide behind. This is mutual defense, bilateral defense, not just one country being the bodyguard of the other. There is no denial that USJR is powerful and our additional protection may not mean a lot to Jamestown in the face of threats, however, this mutual defense pact has conditions that both sides need to abide by. USJR is doing it and so must South Sunrisia. Therefore, just like when we are reassured against threats close to our borders, when USJR feels danger closer to home, they must know that we would act in their defense. That is what this alliance is all about and that is what every alliance should be about.”

The Technocratic State Speaks On the Almst Situation

The Technocratic State would like to announce the disappointment by the failures of all parties of this situation and all nations of the world, including Zanera, on our failure as both a brotherhood and sisterhood of mankind in aiding our fellow man.

Indeed, the Security Council as a whole has failed Eklavozski, due to the failure of several member-states, including Zanera, to administer the proper aid to Eklavozski under the relevant resolutions. While some states failed in their duties, others took it upon themselves to administer aid, not noting any lag in duties by other member-states. The Technocratic State, and several other nation-states, have failed in their mission for global cooperation.

While it could be said that the USJR and Rezua were cooperating, and that MULSTA is a brand new cooperation of nations willing to work together to begin fixing the situation in Almst, the global community has failed to bring each other together to aid our fellow man in their most dire hour of need. Our failure is none other than a failure to cooperate during one of the most trying humanitarian crises of this century.

The USA has failed as a medium, with certain states taking it upon themselves to aid Eklavozski with unilateral action, with a coalition of humanitarian aid only coming too, too late. The actions of certain states must not be noted, nor must the actions be looked at from a unilateral perspective. It is the failure of all that has caused this discord. The failure to work together, when fellow human beings are suffering and dying every day, is what is the matter here.

With the current resolution, it is a step toward the global community working together. With the USA as a strong medium, we can administer aid to the pain-bearers of a crisis, to help them when they most need it, for that is our duty, a duty many have failed in. Without aid, without cooperation, we are doomed to become a selfish species, doomed to darkness.

With new standards holding together the many governments of this planet, such as under the newest-proposed resolution, we can begin working together as one to end human suffering wherever the crisis arrises. Hopefully in the future, the USA will become a medium for the member-states of that organization to distribute aid to the needful, to those who need it most. Hopefully with many more hopeful resolutions, the USA and its member-states will live up to what it must be.

The Technocratic State, willing to admit its own mistakes, hereby transfers whatever humanitarian forces under MULSTA were being sent to Eklavozski, and will send them through USA mediums to do what the Technocratic State should have done all along, and to do what its founder, Supreme Onerius, originally intended for it to do. To provide for the common good of mankind. The USA is a force for good, but can only be made strong by its member-states. The Technocratic State, as a member-state, shall help make it strong, and hopefully no unilateral actions will have to be taken by groups of nations that feel they must take it.

The Technocratic State backs the current proposed resolution within the United Sunalayan Assembly Security Council, because it believes that that resolution is a step in the right direction. From now on the Technocratic State will not sit idly by while thousands die. The Technocratic State shall administer aid through the USA as a major medium, and will fully cooperate with member-states who unilaterally took action in the region, to figure out how this new aid may be administered correctly, and to properly aid these suffering peoples. From now on one of the many quotes written on the Grand Debate Hall shall not be hypocrisy, it shall be fact. The Technocratic State hereby moves all aid going through MULSTA to the USA and the Security Council.

Chancellor Condemns POD and Threatens Action Over Amber Islands Invasion

After the reports that POD had invaded Amber Island located less than 2000 miles from Aznazia, many suspected that it was only a matter of time before the Aznazian government repsonded. This invasion makes Amber Island the first nation attacked by POD in decades and would give POD bombers a base to strike the Corentian Continent in less than 4 hours after take off. As a result of the invasion the Chancellor called for a meeting with his military commanders in the event of further aggression by POD. Many Senators have already agreed that POD must leave the island or face "increased resistance" by the international community. In a press conference this evening the Chancellor stated that the 2nd Fleet with the FRAS Griswold carrier strike force has already been ordered to a holding position near the entrance of the Oblaren Strait for deployment if the situation deteriorates.

"Our military will be ready to defend our nation from any aggression that is thrown at us. We have prepared for an attack from POD for over a century ever since POD attacked our navy in the Oblaren War of Independence. They have since then continued to become more authoritarian to the point where it has angered many of its allies. Many people of such nations have begun questioning why their governments are still allied to POD. However I ask the government of POD to peacefully leave Amber Island and pay for any damage to its infrastructure and personal losses. If not then the international community will need to resort to economic and diplomatic leverage to convince you to leave. However if you still refuse to leave than there will only be one choice left."

After his comments about POD the Chancellor stated that Aznazia will re-double its efforts to help the USA mission in Almst and Eklavozski by hurrying the units requested by the USJR in a recent USA Security Council Meeting.

Aethiopia—The Ruffian Monopoly Board

A freshly-built Capitol rises high above Baeopogon. New railways etch across the landscape, and the perpetual smiles of the Baeopon are indicators of the thriving copper industry, which have quadrupled in six years. But it was not the local government that payed for these structures.

These are gifts from the Avian Union. Over the past ten years, across Aethiopia and Corentia, Avian railways, hospitals and schools have been springing up. They are part of the Avians' relentless drive to secure access to the natural resources they need to maintain their economies' extraordinary boom.

In the archipelago of Tchagra, the AU has promised to spend ΞS 4 billion ($7.89 billion NSD) on infrastructure such as railways, power plants and phone networks in return for the islands becoming protectorates of the Avian Union. The Isles of Emphresula have been offered a similar deal, with the AU promising to establish a central government for the local populace in exchange for the islands becoming protectorates.

The imperialist moves played by the Avian Union are sure to stir up strong reactions and opinions from not only their enemies, but also some of their larger allies, such as Aznazia, Rhodevus, Lindenholt, and Rezua, who have played important parts in the rise of the Avian economy, and who combine for almost 90% of the world's colonies and protectorates. Such behaviour may fuel suspicion and resentment of Avian presence in Aethiopia. Some opposition politicians have accused the Avians of exploiting the continent for its natural resources, and have questioned the sudden shift of the Union from lax-isolationism to full-on-imperialism.

The Avian Union's demand for raw materials has grown massively over the past two decades. According to World Census figures, the country now consumes a fifth of the world's copper, compared with a twentieth two decades ago. Last year, Avians alone accounted for a staggering 86% of the global growth in demand for aluminium. It is now the world's fourth biggest consumer of raw materials. Until a decade ago, it could meet demand from domestic raw resources. Yet, according to official statistics, it had to import 25% of the resources it consumed in 2002.

The Union's voracious appetite for raw materials is not the only driver behind its grab for colonies. After all, demand has been growing dramatically for the past decade or more, yet it is only recently that Avians have stepped up efforts to secure access to them. What has changed is that the new-found wealth of Avian companies and the governments allow for them to, quite literally, "buy" entire countries into the Union. The acquisitions of the Baeopogon, Tchagra, and Emphresula have easily become the largest Sunalayan investments to date.

Lord Jenkins, Chieftan Solretir, and President Snars have met at the Ruffed House in Pugnax, Philomachus to discuss plans on further imperialistic campaigns, and have released a joint statement for their fellow countries:

"The Ruffian, Gallinagan, and Scolopaci peoples have come to the decision that imperialism is simply the most efficient methodology for reducing the risk and uncertainty of having to rely on foreign imports, which have been rising at a stark rate over the last five years. Every passing day, more and more of our economy has been set into the hands of foreign countries. While we all agree that globalism is the way of the future, it is painfully obvious to most that an international conflict would jeopardise not only our steady supply of raw materials, but the stability of the entire economy. We feel that a little more control over our own economy will provide our nations with the security and fortitude vital to maintaining one of the strongest economies in Sunalaya.

Admittedly, this is not a strictly economic venture that we have pursued. All three Aethiopian participants have become protectorates of the Avian Union, and their governments will be overseen by the Ruffian, Gallinagan, and Scolopaci peoples. However, we assure all countries watching the situation that we will provide free, open, and democratic elections, if they are so desired, and will continue to maintain our pristine human rights record while dealing with our protectorates.

We expect very little to no backlash from our allies, as they have made it clear that imperialism is not only acceptable, but is something to be encouraged, as some of our allies have colonies and protectorates numbering in the dozens. Now that the Avian Union can lay claim to both the ninth strongest economy and the strongest currency in the entirety of Sunalaya, it seems obvious that we should make moves to position ourselves in a fashion that represents our new role in the world. It seems as though imperialism is a game that the elite of us NationStates play, and if that is the case, it is high time that the Avian Union be recognized and seated at that table as a brother-in-arms."

Iylan Province Set to Expand in Historic Merge

After two years of ongoing discussions with the Ile du Myars off the coast of Rhodevus, the island territory of Rhodevus has agreed to join into the province of Iylan, bringing with it the rights of provincehood onto the former territory. Over the course of the past two years, the small territory on the island, which shares close borders with the USJR territory of Castaway island has held 3 different referendums for the people's 4,000 population on this subject. Topics include joining with the United Soviet Jason Republic, joining with the Ile du Fleurs as an imperial territory and joining Iylan.

"These past two years were spent on aligning Myarian law with those of Iylan, so that the change will progress as smoothly as possible." Stated former governor, Susan Thompson. "The province of Iylan as well has changed their law code as well, especially in regards to sustainable fishing, so that it is more in tune with ours."

This beneficial relationship between the now unified province and territory will be fully in place in 2017.

Ares One Lander Crashes On Test Site

Ares One Hardware Test Site, Lindenholt -- Ares One, the Lindenholt based space agency that is aiming to bring colonists to Ares by the end of the 20's has suffered an other catastrophic failure in testing one of its landers. Last year the company had a similar setback, when none of the landing struts opened and the craft's engine hit the ground causing an explosion heard by people living near the test site.

This craft, set to launch in 2025 to drop supplies near the future site of the colony would not carry any humans. Engineers who were watching the failed landing state that "the landing legs opened perfectly, and there was no error warnings in the flight computer. It crashed without a single warning.

Software engineers did however notice that there was a sudden spike in the use of processor power in the flight computer. Whether this spike in the usage of the processor could solve the mystery is unknown.

South Sunrisia Carries Out Naval Rotations And Patrols Across International Waters

The South Sunrisian Revolutionary Guardian Army (SSRGA) has reported today that the South Sunrisian Naval Forces were tasked with carrying out a range of patrols across international waters, following an intensification of international tensions in several parts of the world simultaneously. South Sunrisia, in particular the military, is now facing a huge responsibility, as our country is currently in a position, where it must be prepared to defend USJR in case the continuing MULSTA presence in Almst, provokes a conflict.

Although the Supreme Leadership and Government have said that the goal is not just to ease tensions with the North Sunrisians, but also probably move on building a positive, partnering and neighborly relationship with the neighboring state and that South Sunrisia does not actually oppose MULSTA as some of our allies might, despite Lucera openly putting forward the question of MULSTA’s legitimacy over USA’s peacekeeping efforts in the region. Prime Minister Rêc Práter has reminded today that MULSTA’s intervention in Almst and parts of Ekalvozski only shows that the USA has not been doing its’ work fully, effectively and efficiently and that South Sunrisia’s initial goal as an elected USA Security Council member state is to make sure that the international body fully fulfils its’ responsibilities and gets the situation under control and only its’ control to the fullest, so that independent non-USA peacekeeping coalitions would not have to intervene. Recently, South Sunrisia voted in favor of the USA Security Council Resolution 12 proposed by USJR, which calls for an increased and hopefully more-efficient USA peacekeeping effort in Eklavozski, Almst and the region. Despite hopes that the USA will once again take the lead, the Prime Minister said that the South Sunrisian combat-ready military forces will remain in the region, seeing to how our country’s mutual defense ally USJR feels threatened and South Sunrisia is obliged to reassure military protection.

Moreover, recently POD has allegedly invaded and occupied a sovereign island nation of Amber Island with different theories being put forward of why this has been done or what has even actually happened on the territory. South Sunrisia is unsure which of the international theories to believe, therefore our country has decided to carry out its’ own inspection. Meanwhile, the threat of terrorism still remains alive Senkaria, despite things quieting down recently and the terrorist organization – the Bannerless Brotherhood continues finding its’ way into more countries, where to wage insurgency. ABS, although not being very relevant or talked about these days and already having been crippled by endless brutal military campaign against, remains officially undefeated and still occupies northern Sunafrica/Aethiopia and keeps the threat of terrorist attacks in other parts of Sunalaya alive, thanks to its’ continuing existence. The drug wars in Latin Corentia, despite receiving dramatic reinforcement in recent period from the international community, remain officially ongoing as well and that is a threat closer to home, though it fortunately remains not as relevant these days, thanks to the effective international containment of drug cartel activities. The Harmony Pact, although being an effective armistice which both South Sunrisia and North Sunrisia continue attempting to hold up, still shows “symptoms” of possibly becoming a stagnant cease-fire, which means that military readiness in the region must be present as well.

With some many complicated situations across Sunalaya taking place simultaneously, the South Sunrisian Military decided to carry out an independent inspection of the globe through rotations and patrols by naval fleets across international waters. The head command of the SSRGA has said that this has helped our country have a closer independent look at all these situations, as well as has shown Sunalaya and our country’s potential enemies that South Sunrisia maintains and active and vast military presence across the globe.
