Creperia, North Sunrisia and South Sunrisia finally complete the long-lasting ‘UMIC’ recovery operation, which helped Creperia fully recuperate from a collection of internal conflicts which the country faced in modern period

Today, President Jerr Dēlecia has officially confirmed that the long-lasting international humanitarian, peacekeeping and recovery operation – the ‘United Mission in Creperia’ (UMIC) has officially been completed and that our country has now fully recovered from the impact left by the military conflicts that Creperia faced in the modern period. The President has made this announcement in front of the media, the nation and the whole world at the Presidential Palace, on stage being joined by the representatives of the commands of the Creperian National Defense Force (CNDF), the North Sunrisian Liberty Defense Army (NSLDA), the South Sunrisian Revolutionary Guardian Army (SSRGA), as well as the ambassador of North Sunrisia to Creperia and the Foreign Minister of South Sunrisia.
The operation simply referred to as ‘UMIC’ for short, was originally launched following the Creperian–Sunrisian War, which has liberated our country from a dreaded oppressive dictatorship. The project was mutually designed by the formerly-united state of Sunrisia and Creperia with the CTC (Creperian Transitional Council) in power as interim government and was entirely a bilateral initiative of the two countries with no involvement of the USA. Creperia took a lot infrastructural damage, the majority of which was not even caused by the Creperian–Sunrisian War as the conflict was short and fought carefully by the dominant side. Instead, 90% of the damage was caused by the internal cross-country insurgencies in Creperia which erupted simultaneously right after the coup d'état which ousted the legitimate democratic federalist government ruling Creperia since the revolution, which abolished the Grand Duchy. The coup installed a militaristic dictatorship in power, which the Creperian people fought against from day one and the regime attempted to fire back against the uprisings with brute force. Eventually, Sunrisia became the newest victim of the regime as the dictatorship forces launched military aggression against the neighboring country based on unproven accusations of support for democratic opposition and separatist forces inside Creperia. Sunrisia did not permit itself to be bullied and the country’s military managed to not only protect its’ own country, but also move in and help the Creperian people oust the dictatorship and bring back lost democracy to our country.
Sunrisia did not immediately leave and offered Creperia help in fully recovering from all damages, thus establishing a platform for designing the ‘UMIC’ operation. This joint mission was designed to cover all areas of peacekeeping, humanitarian work and recovery, thus making it the largest non-USA relief mission in modern history of Sunalaya. The effort was led by humanitarian organizations and conducted by relief worker teams and non-combat military personnel from both countries. Due to so much commitment, investment, work and care by both parties, progress was growing spontaneously and it was expected that ‘UMIC’ would be completed very soon, however, a series of internal conflicts related to dictatorship legacy and terrorist threats prolonged the mission, yet Creperia’s partner Sunrisia promised to stay until the end. Following the partition of Sunrisia, the two newly-emerged states of the Republic of North Sunrisia and the Democratic States of South Sunrisia had inherited the legacy of their mutual predecessor states and resumed the ‘UMIC’ mission in Creperia as separate entities. The last military conflict inside Creperia was a low-level armed insurgency the terrorist groups of MDF and the Bannerless Brotherhood and was won easily by the Creperian and allied forces. This conflict brought very little infrastructural damage due to its’ small intensity, therefore it was not believed that it would impact the duration of ‘UMIC’ or greatly prolong the operation. What rather became an obstacle to the operation was that the two of the three participating states – North Sunrisia and South Sunrisia had developed hostile relations and that naturally slowed down the procedure. What contributed even more to the lag was that Creperia formed an alliance with North Sunrisia which reached as a far as a formal mutual defense pact with North Sunrisia known as the Defense Dyad under which the two countries promised not only to militarily cooperate in the international arena, but also protect each other from external threats.
South Sunrisia backed by USJR, was recognized as the primary threat to North Sunrisia and therefore often forced Creperia to issue warnings and send signals to the leadership in Lucera that Creperia would defend North Sunrisia from any aggression. Naturally, the South Sunrisian response was that there was not a lot of point to continue investing in the recovery of a country that might be a potential adversary, therefore, the state did not entirely pull out, yet limited its’ role in ‘UMIC’. Even though Creperia and South Sunrisia would still on occasion cooperate with each other in the battle against common threats, even fighting alongside each other against MDF and the Bannerless Brotherhood during their insurgency in our country, Creperia’s sworn allegiance to North Sunrisia and commitment to its’ security in the face of threats, among the greatest of which was South Sunrisia, strained relations between the two countries. In accordance with its’ commitments under the Defense Dyad alliance, Creperia has even directly helped North Sunrisia fight the militant group FNU, which invaded North Sunrisia from the territory of South Sunrisia and was likely backed by the leadership in Lucera. Theories were also surfing that the military of South Sunrisia was secretly involved in the fight alongside FNU and therefore Creperian and South Sunrisian forces may have actually confronted each other in a fight without even knowing it, yet, no sides took casualties, so it did not leave an impact. Theories also remain that following a coup d'état in Sunrisia prior to its’ partition, the Creperian Military secretly militarily reinforced the pro-Republic rebels against the forces of the Supreme Leadership which ceased power in Sunrisia and in the present day rules the Democratic States of South Sunrisia. Creperia was under the presidency of President Ress Fēlicit at the time and although the CNDF was only officially tasked to guard the border from spillovers of the Republican insurgency in northern Sunrisia into the territory of Creperia, theories surfaced and even hints from the government itself later on that the military of Creperia was involved in the fight and militarily reinforced the Republican rebels against the Sunrisian Military loyal to the Supreme Leadership.
Tensions between the two Sunrisian states remained for the majority of the relatively-short existence of these countries, however, North Sunrisia and South Sunrisia have recently made a historical progress by establishing a solidified and documented truce via the official signing of the Harmony Pact, under which the sides had agreed to end the militarization of their common border on both sides, reverse the build-up that has already been conducted and end any provoking military exercises, rather agreeing to collaborate with each other in the future, if either of the two nations needs to train its’ armed forces. Naturally, this has laid the foundation for ending the hostile relationship between North Sunrisia and South Sunrisia and rather helping the two countries move on towards developing a friendly, neighborly and even brotherly relationship, given their common history and Sunrisian heritage. With this truce, naturally a lot of benefits come to the international community as well, seeing to how the this threat to regional and global security has faded away and even helped the two countries jointly resume uninterrupted contribution to battling world crises and helping build a common international community. In Creperia’s case, the two countries were further able to resume their participation in ‘UMIC’ with South Sunrisia even returning to its’ old role of being equally committed to the operation along with the other two parties.
Following the official declaration of the conclusion of ‘UMIC’, the parliamentary authorities of the three countries have authorized the beginning of the withdrawal of humanitarian workers, relief teams and peacekeeper forces from Creperia. Even though this procedure has already been approved, it has not yet gone into motion as the teams from all three countries that had worked on this project are currently in progress of commemorating ‘UMIC’ and looking back at the entire timeline of the work that was done, appreciating their personal successes, recognizing the positive impact of ‘UMIC’ and what it would mean for Creperia’s future. President Jerr Dēlecia and other top officials of the Creperian government have thanked every foreign representative as well as our own military personnel and humanitarian workers for the success of the project and the work that was done, calling every individual involved – a hero, on the behalf of the nation. Although the official heads of state from the other two parties did not come to Creperia for an official visit to commemorate the conclusion of ‘UMIC’, President Dēlecia later received a phone call from North Sunrisia’s President Émen Séntân and South Sunrisia‘s Supreme Leader Víc Sêrria, both issuing congratulations on the common success. President Dēlecia responded by issuing his own congratulations to the two parties for establishing brotherly harmony between their respective countries.
Currently, Creperian forces are present in North Sunrisia carrying out similar recovery efforts to North Sunrisia’s infrastructure from the minor damages taken during the fight against the recently-ended FNU insurgency. Reportedly, the low-level conflict has caused Creperia’s Defense Dyad ally to take very few damages and therefore it is expected that this “stitching of a few bruises” as it was described by CNDF general officers would be completed in the near future.
