The Government of Sunrisia planning to expand international diplomatic relations

Recently the government of the Republic of Sunrisia had announced the ongoing plans to expand Sunrisia’s role in the international arena. It had been brought up that the Republic over the course of its existence, although played an active role in interaction and cooperation with the international community, had not officially established diplomatic relations with many countries, thus creating an obstacle for the future of the Republic’s prosperity in the international community. Despite the successful partnership with many foreign states even without official diplomatic relations, this is one formality that must still be met and recently the government has made it the number one priority. It has not yet been revealed to what horizons will Sunrisia be spreading its international influence or which countries is the government precisely looking at to establish formal diplomatic relations with. However, there had already been some recent unconfirmed rumors that the local regional superpowers in Sunalaya, are being looked at as next on the potential foreign partner list. Hello! Our supreme leader Supreme Onerius has decided that science is the best course for our great nation. With these new programs, education, scientific research, and public works programs will be boosted massively. The programs are also to give funding to build massive vertical farms, and even more for GMOs. The government hopes that within twenty years all food produced in Zanera will come from these vertical farms. Massive expanses of land will also be given to grow and test GMOs. Disease elimination-and possibly production-research will also come into being as a result of this funding. Many laboratories and disease-proof suits and systems will also be developed and built. FOREIGN FLIGHT DOWN

It was recently reported that the P.O.D.A.F.S.P. (P.O.D. Air Force Sky Patrol) had fired on and shot down a sizable foreign aircraft. Though the exact details of the aircraft have not been released, the aircraft was indeed a civilian airliner with no less than sixty passengers.

Though most of the details surrounding this situation have been marked as restricted information, the P.O.D.A.F.S.P. has reported that all aboard the aircraft have been marked as fatalities due to the effectiveness of the SAMs fired at the aircraft. While it is still unclear as to why the aircraft diverted more the a kilometer into P.O.D. airspace, three possibilities have been speculated by the P.O.D.A.F.S.P. They surmise that the aircraft was suffering from navigation errors, that the aircraft's crew/contractors/owners failed to register a flight plan with the P.O.D.A.F.S.P., or that the aircraft was a failed attempt to attack The Dictatorship. Because of this final possibility, The Dictatorship will not apologize for any losses until a full investigation has been completed.

Military Testing Accident in The Confederacy of Ripuaria

A recent test carried by RAF(Ripuarian Armed Forces) faced unexpected consequences as a computer chip inside a guided missiles launched for testing targeted a civilian city in northern Ripuaria. two houses were destroyed and 11 civilians including children died, additional 4 civilians were wounded. RAF has apologized to the families on the accident and their losses, and even agreed to pay.

Conspiracy Theorists think that the accident was intentional because an opposition leader died in the accident, RAF denies it.
The theorists say it is most likely as recently similar incident happened as a military mine exploded on a path and another opposition leader died that day. The government and RAF denies that and say it was all a coincidence.

The killed opposition leader was one of the advisers of the Liberal Party that was banned in the last election due to rigging the elections.

Stijn Meeuwe, a whistleblower, former RAF engineer commented on the topic saying:
"Since I joined RAF, the government kept telling us to target opposition leaders as target practice, most of us didn't listen.
but few radical supporters did. As I said years ago, Ripuaria's government, although may look like a democracy, is in fact not.
I'm not saying we should blame those supporters, we need to blame the government, because that's where it all starts."

Sunrisia condemns Somelion aggression against Yaramaqui

The unexpected invasion of Yaramaqui carried out by Somelio has struck Sunalaya even more unexpectedly than any natural disaster. Several days ago, the regime ruling the Jihadist Emirate of Somelio has carried out an unprovoked aggression against the Second Sukraitian Republic of Yaramaqui in a form of armed invasion. The attack on the country by the Somelion army was launched with a military strike on a heavily populated city of Yashifar, which was still rebuilding itself after the Nanovian military intervention in Yaramaqui. Once the invading forces captured Yashifar, the Somelian military proceeded with spreading havoc into other parts of the country, continuing the advance. Assumptions had already been made, believing that the Somelian regime seeks full occupation of Yaramaqui entirely and that the Somelian military will not stand down until this goal is achieved.

Although the official reason of the Somelion invasion of Yaramaqui remains a mystery, there is a certain number of hypotheses that allows to believe in several different possibilities. The regime itself did not remain silent on explaining their aggressive actions however, as Sultan Muhammad Jawahi had officially addressed the leaders of all countries in Sunalaya, explaining that this attack was a sign of “rebelling” against the Smoyan influence in the region, encouraging other countries to understand why this invasion was and “had to be” carried out. Naturally, such rough explanation, which did not answer many questions, received cynical international reception and was soon followed with the Sunalayan community taking action against Somelio. Since diplomacy had never been an effective tool against the Jawahi regime, multiple Sunalayan countries had supported a legislation issued on the regional Security Council, which authorized military action against Somelio with the goal of toppling the aggressive Jawahi government. Since the resolution was supported by 99% of the voting countries, with POD being the only country opposing it, the legislation was passed and an invasion of Somelio by an international coalition soon followed. Currently the coalition is actively operating in Somelio seeking to punish the regime for their actions against Yaramaqui.

Like the majority of the regional community, the government of Sunrisia has condemned the barbaric Somelion aggression against Yaramaqui and suspended any and all relations with the government of the Jihadist Emirate. The government altogether had expressed appall for the regimes cruelty and cold blooded murder of innocent civilians, stating that by invading Yaramaqui and committing crimes against humanity, the regime has automatically eliminated its own right to further exist as a legitimate governance of any country. Although the government has stated that there are currently no plans for Sunrisia to join the international military operation against Somelio, the President and his administration will continue observing the situation, hoping for a quick and peaceful resolution of the conflict without any escalating threat to the regional security, as well as more innocent lives. Sunrisia seals all borders after fighting off the Islamist Militants

After a recent attack on Sunrisia, commenced several days ago by Islamist Militants, the government of the country had urgently called for the shutting and militarization of all of the country’s borders until the Somelio-related regional Islamist crisis passes. This urgent decision appealed by the country’s President, was immediately approved by the Parliament by an overwhelming majority vote. Starting August 6, 2014, all land borders of the Republic of Sunrisia will be closed and militarized with the campaign strictly lasting until the end of the crisis. The land borders will be packed with heavily armed ground units of the Sunrisian Defense Force, while the airspace of the country will be patrolled by the Air Forces 24/7. Likewise, the country’s territorial waters will be surrounded the Naval Forces 24/7 as well.

In order not to alert the national population over the taking of such drastic measures, the government has specifically stated that this campaign’s primary concern is national security and that it will not affect the lives of the people. The possibility to travel and cross the borders will remain unlimited, however, entering the country will become a bit more difficult, as the entire system of Customs Control has also been strictly reworked, in order to cooperate with the campaigns conditions. Additionally, the government has stated that the theory of a possible relation of these Islamist Militants to Somelio will also be investigated. It has been stated that a potential affirmation of the relation of these Militants to Somelio might mean a complete termination of any Sunrisia–Somelio relations.

Meanwhile, as Sunrisia is moving on with the campaign, there had been reports that a threat by the same Islamist Militants has also arisen in the neighboring Ispanza, an autonomous territory of the United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus. Naturally, due to Ispanza’s geographical positions, the government of Sunrisia is also concerned with the situation there. Although the Royal Rhodeve Forces seem to have already jumped to the defense of Ispanza from any attacks, the Sunrisian government is considering offering Rhodevus military cooperation in securing mutual safety from any potential attackers. In relation to mutual defense, recently the United Democratic Republic of Smoya has jumped to the defense of Sunrisia by deploying an 8th Smoyan Naval Fleet. Although the government has naturally not rejected this offer of help, there is a possibility that the Sunrisian Defense Force will soon be completely taking over the defense of our country, while politely turning down foreign support, as the government feels that every country in Sunalaya currently requires to keep their militaries for their own defense. As soldiers around Rhodevus mobilize and ship off to Eubatu and the Ile of Flowers, civilians begin to worry about the Rhodeve Armed Services. It has been important for many years that Rhodevus have a strong standing army as well as conscription. But, a record low of 51% of people have shown their support for this to continue. Many wish for Rhodevus to hold a more peaceful approach, such as during the Cold War. No comment from Queen Diana has been given yet, but Princess Heir, Sierra Abrams spoke out for conscription last Monday, "Conscription is a necessary evil. We right now are at war. Our allies are at war. We have the Brotherhood knocking at our doorstep every time they think we forgot about them. Until the time that we are 100% safe, we must have conscription."
The Princess did not accept any questions.

Sunrisia changes position on the Jihadist Crisis in Sunalaya

Recently, the government of Sunrisia has announced that the growing threat to Sunalaya’s security related to the massive expansion of Islamic terrorism from Somelio and other extremist nations, has forced the country to have second thoughts on the previously announced non-intervention position, making it highly likely that military action by Sunrisia in panning out the terror-related crisis might be required after all.

Throughout the ongoing crisis, which had been called the “Jihad in Sunalaya”, Sunrisia has constantly attempted to avoid getting militarily involved, even with the threat approaching the country’s borders. The government of Sunrisia was strictly determined to keep the maximum use of military forces throughout the conflict only for guarding the country’s borders, avoiding carrying out or getting engaged in military operations. However, the recent attacks on Sunrisia itself by Islamist Militants, as well as the growing number of occupied countries and territories, with addition of continuing appeals for military aid to Sunrisia from Smoya, had all served as factors that had made the government of Sunrisia realize that the country cannot remain in hiding with a sealed border campaign, while terrorism freely spreads out across Sunalaya. In order to achieve more progress for the beginning, cooperation will be strengthened with the United Democratic Republic of Smoya, as well as the Rhodeve Protectorate of Ispanza and the United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus itself. The cooperation will be carried out in a form of strengthening mutual security, as well as mobilizing common military tactics. The Sunrisian contribution to the international anti-terrorist operation will start out with limited military support, primarily using air superiority, however, should it be required, the Sunrisian Military will also become engaged with ground and naval forces. Recently, in regards to Sunrisia’s preparation for war against terrorism, the President had confirmed that introducing military conscription is a prohibited option, a decision mutually agreed to with the Parliament, as the Sunrisian Defense Force is large and well financed enough to control such a crisis in its current state.

After what seemed like an eternity the Rodranian 2014 presidential elections finally happened, but they leaved really alarming results as the Defence Minister of Rodrania was elected as the new president. The defence minister is known for his imperialist and violent policies and his dream of "Giving back the glory of the old Empire". The elections, which happened yesterday and where open only for citizens of Rodrania, showed a gigantic majority of votes (60%) supporting the, now President, Minister Dick Thomas.

IA Scores in Largest "Corruption" Bust


Today at 9 AM JST the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested President Alexi Burti, Minister Issac Leon, Minister Leloy Savo and fifteen senators in the largest corruption bust in the country's history, casting doubt on the country's future. After the collapse of Ophion the Party Soviet was swarmed by who would lead the country through this new time. After months of intelligence the Ministry of Internal Affairs released a statement to the media, outlying the case against the President and his closest political allies. All stand accused of crimes against the state, corruption, abuse of powers and the abandonment of the constitution. These heads of state have been arrested and flown to a prison at a undisclosed location. Today at dawn the USJR Eastern Core began its movement into Sangaria on the orders of President Robert. Rizealand Troops WILL be Deployed in Eastern Africa

MONEGRO, RIZEALAND: In a press conference today, President Horiatio confirmed the rumor that about 1,500 Rizealand troops will be sent into the Eastern African Republic by the end of the month. The Eastern African Republic is a newly established republic carved out of southern Wadiya as an attempt to introduce Democracy to the Wadiyans but sectarian violence, clan conflict, and the rise of the Islamic Brotherhood have prevented such progress.

Today Bison Arms Industries CEO Spencer McBrennan announced that Bison Arms Industries would be cutting all ties with Allentyr Industries. In a meeting with news reporters he stated, "The recent flaws in ACI tank designs and lack of adoption of ACI tanks has shown a increasing amount of money needed to keep ACI afloat. Bison Arms is currently building 10 vessels for multiple nations and has new and innovative designs that are nearly ready for launch. Also the recent Allentyr government military policy on terror threats has lead to my investors to be worried that their money could be used in attacks that lead to 'collateral damage'."

Mr. McBrennan was referring to the recent release of Allentyr's foreign policy on terror organizations which was met with strong criticism from the Aznazian government. The report stated taht areas that fall under the control of terror organizations will be treated as military targets and targets attacked even if innocent civilians are at risk. On tuesday Aznazian Chancellor Vigil stated that she is "applauded by the Allentyr foreign policy".

The split will officially end the partnership between the two companies that seems to have a good relationship until the very end. " The two companies where very good partners and the time together benefited both of our companies." said McBrennan. McBrennan also announced plans for a new light reconnaissance helicopter and a new submarine design. ACI on the other hand has constantly been "pumping out" tank and vehicle designs that have shown little support and created a increase in cost of ACI, a cost that bison Arms can no longer handle.

As a closing statement Mr. McBrennan stated, "I would like to ensure investors of Bison Arms Industries that we are still a strong and secure company that will us your money wisely. I understand that some of you may be worried that this is only the beginning of a destabilization of Bison Arms but I assure you that it is not."

President Edward Léker addresses the nation on the Jihadist Crisis in Sunalaya

With the Jihad-related war escalated by Somelio and its allies continuing to ravage across Sunalaya and with the recent invasion of Sunrisia by the Bolvikian Military across the border, President Edward Léker had officially announced that his administration has changed the position on the war and that it has been agreed that it is time for our countries to take further measures in disposing of the growing threat. In order to explain the government’s new position and the news steps that our country will be taking in the war, President Léker has called for this emergency address to the nation that he will now give from the Presidential Palace, Aestin in this live broadcast:

"Good evening, my fellow people of Sunrisia,

Tonight I come before you to talk about something very important. Something that might have and will have a direct effect on the future of our country and the whole of Sunalaya.

As you all may now, for the past certain period of time Sunalaya has been suffering a mass Islamic Jihad-related war that has been escalated by the terrorist regime of Holy Sultan Muhammad Jawahi of Somelio. It all began with an unprovoked invasion of Yaramaqui by Somelio, to which most of Sunalaya, including our country, already had a strong reaction to. The reason why Sunalaya reacted so intensely to this act by the Jihadist Emirate was not only because it was a potential escalation of direct threat to the security of the rest of Sunalaya, but because it was a brutal, sickening and unprovoked act of pure violence against a country which did not deserve it. This attack on Yaramaqui by Somelio could not even be called an act of war or declaration of war as not only was there no political reason for it, but it did not even seem like there were any diplomatic or ideological goals that Somelio might have had against Yaramaqui. It could not even be called war in the first place as Somelio did not have any political or interest-related objectives in Yaramaqui as the government of that country was not even the initial target. The targets were the innocent people and the Yaramaquese nation as a whole. There was no reason for it, it was simply an act of genocide by one nation against the other.

Naturally, Sunalaya had a quick response to this tragedy. Without debating for long, the Sunalayan community unanimously agreed to immediately use military action against Somelio to stop the regime before it could commit any more atrocities on the rest of Sunalaya. Our country did not join this effort and even opposed joining it, however, we agreed to take all measures possible on the diplomatic arena, hoping that the combined strength of both military and diplomatic action would force Somelio to stand down, instead of provoking a mass and frightening war. Unfortunately, these measures did not work as not only was the Somelion regime able to withstand the first wave of international invasion, but even resumed its terrorist activities in Sunalaya by invading other countries and territories and committing the same horror there as they did in Yaramaqui. With Somelio somehow being able to succeed in their horrific objectives, despite international pressure, and even managing to pick up some allies on the way – countries that decided to double-cross the entire Sunalaya and join Somelio’s efforts in hopes of being spared rather eliminated, the Jihadist Emirate continued its reign of evil along with its protégés across Sunalaya.

Despite the danger spreading and even coming closer to Sunrisia, we still refused to enter this war. By that time we already had multiple appeals for military aid from the government of Smoya, however, we still were only preparing to secure our own national security, instead of joining the international effort to ensure the mutual security of us all. Our position changed only very slightly after a battalion of possibly Islamic Militants attacked our country from across the border with Bolvik, which resulted in a brief military clash, which ended with the victory of the Sunrisian Military. Despite this already open act of war against our country, my administration has still avoided the decision of entering the war and only moved forward with installing urgent security of our country by sealing all of our borders – land, air and maritime. Granted, that was not the only action that we took as the first attack on our country has finally boosted us to accept mutual military training with the Smoyan Armed Forces, preparing for a potential combat should we be forced to defend ourselves again. As these military activities were taking place, we also provided military build-up for several close countries that requested it. Not much has taken place from that point on as no events had taken place that would force us to announce national alert….until yesterday.

Yesterday, without any official or formal declaration of war, the military of Bolvik had officially invaded Sunrisia. Naturally, since we had our borders sealed for long time in response to such a possibility and thus we had military forces placed along all borders, the Sunrisian Defense Force has immediately responded to the attack and has launched a counter-offensive against the aggressor. Currently, as we speak, the Sunrisian Military and the Bolvikian Military are currently engaged in a mass battle on the border of our two countries. Naturally, this act was the final step in our patience. This has pushed my administration to taking the final measure, which we had avoided ever since the first aggression against our country. Yesterday, the government has officially issued formal declarations of war against Somelio and Bolvik. From now on, the Sunrisian Defense Force has full authorization to not only use military action against Somelio and Bolvik in defense of Sunrisia, but also use it to strike the two aggressor countries as well. The Military Command of our country has personally promised to me and thus I channel this promise to the entire nation, that after Sunrisia is defended and secured, other countries that had to suffer the same burden as us will also receive assistance in achieving freedom as well. Once Sunrisia is defended, attention will be devoted to other occupied countries, however, the primarily target will still be Somelio as that country currently serves as headquarters to the terrorist regime that started it all. Somelio will not be permitted to build its Jihadist Empire by destroying other free and sovereign countries. We will closely cooperate with our foreign allies and together we will dispose of the evil that brings threat to us all.

Rhodevus and Aznazia to Perform

It has been stated today by Queen Diana, that there will be a new cultural alliance between Rhodevus and Aznazia. This alliance, is more of a cultural friendship between the countries, allowing for the orchestras and bands from either country to perform and co-write music together. "This is an effort to strengthen the arts around the world." Queen Diana stated on Saturday, "Music and theater and Art are very important to our nations and we hope to show to the rest of the world that these programs are not dying but are thriving."

It has been noted that Aznazia has become the first nation to be allowed to have orchestras perform in the Rhodeve annual Winterfest ceremony after the first snowfall of the season.

Liberty Bay has threatened Lindian shores bordering the inland sea for centuries. These areas include the two most populous cities, Stokfort and the capital of Liberty City. Since the pumping dry of the "Peerenmeer" (The Pear Lake) in the 19th century there have been plans to tame the inland sea, and to claim it for Lindenholt in order to do agriculture and to provide even more space. Finally, after 16 different plans and 100 years the Lindian government has approved the plans submitted by Jaap Brennenmeijer in 1967 which was later modified by Erik Madelief and David Fenton in 2012 in order to fit today's needs.

The plan originally consisted of 5 phases, the first one was removed in the modifications made in 2012 by Madelief and Fenton.

Phase 1
In the first phase the plan will be to completely block the eastern Stokish Channel from the sea with dikes. When that is done the water is removed and infrastructure is made.

Phase 2
The second biggest area of water is made dry, just like in phase 1 the area that borders the water is pumped away and the land is developed by adding infrastructure and towns.

Phase 3
The 3rd phase will be the only island in the entire plan, and will be, just like the others, surrounded by dikes and dams and the water will be removed.

Phase 4
Phase 4 is to administratively arrange the areas by founding a new province, setting up municipalities and to build more infrastructure. Tunnels and bridges connecting the newly formed lands and extra protective measures against flooding will also be built. The new province will include the areas created in phase 2 and 3 and the island in which Liberty City is located. The area that was claimed from the sea in phase 1 will be ceded to the province of Lindia. And the newly formed province of "Brennenerwaard" will be the 10th province of Lindenholt.

The entire plan will take over 15 years of building to complete, and will cost between 20 to 50 billion Lindian Linds. Most of that money is already available for Lindenholt, because the government had already prepared for the plan and the costs. Prime Minister Carpaij stated that:

If everything went according to the plan we [the government] would have enough money to finance the project by our self. If something were to happen we always have the option to borrow money, or to use the private sector to our advantage.

The two new pieces of land that would be given to a new province would be named after the two men who modernized the project, Erik Madelief and David Fenton, and the province would be named after the maker of the project Jaap Brennenmeijer. The government has stated that the capital of the province will be named after an important Lindian historic figure.

Most likely the areas of phase 1 and 2 will be used for agriculture and winning of wind and solar energy. The land from phase 3 will be used to house people in small suburban cities and to contain nature such as plains, ponds/lakes and forests. Lindenholt's quick suburbanization has lead to there being almost no space left near the big cities.

In total the entire plan would add almost 75 thousand square kilometres to the size of Lindenholt.

Targets struck in El Whahediya

Terror group headquarters struck after reports of possible attack in the works

Last night a flight of Aznazian Stealth Bombers took off from Johnson Airforce Base in Crawford City Aznazia. They flew for hours before they reached El Whahediya and struck three command and control centers for the Al Jehmbolia terror cell. After striking targets the bombers turned back and were re-fueled in midair by tankers and landed back in Aznazia at 5 Am EAT (Eastern Aznazia Time). Air force General Alexander Whitmore gave an overview of the strikes at this mornings Defense Administration Press Conference.

He stated:

"The Aznazian Intelligence Agency (AIA) received information that the Al Jehmbolia extremist cell was planning an imminent attack on Western and Eastern Targets in retaliation for the invasion of El Whahediya. Last night our air force struck three locations that were part of the Al Jehmbolia command and control center. We can confirm that the target buildings were destroyed and precision munitions were used to reduce civilian casualties. We also have enacted more strict travel guidelines in the wave of this intelligence."

Chancellor Vigil who is still trying to campaign for her re-election visited Johnson Air Force Base to meet with the pilots who flew the mission. She viewed the bombers used and chatted with Major Daniels who gave an outline of the mission and what the results of the strike were. She then spoke on National Television at the Base.

"I want to ensure everyone in Aznazia that we had strong intelligence that a terrorist cell in El Whahediya was planning an attack on Western, Eastern nations including Aznazia. We felt it necessary to take action to slow the planning of attacks on international targets. I will also be asking the USA to place more forces into place to counter this terrorist threat that has risen out of the conflict in El Whahediya. "

Chancellor Vigil finished her tour and then returned to Pacificia City to discuss possible future actions to curve terrorist groups in El Whahediya.

Richard Livington's Popularity Surges forward after speech

After speaking at the Aznazian Economic Recovery Alliance Banquet three days ago, Richard Livington has seen a 5% raise in his approval. Many analysts have concluded that his goal to repair economic ties with the Ophion State of Allentyr has caused this sudden rise in approval. He stated that 'the only way that Aznazia can fully recover from the recession is to regain it's old trade partners and to expand Aznazian markets'. Many Aznazian politicians are cautious of Ophion but Livington sees Ophion as a potential market for Aznaizan products which could help boost the economy. He also continued to drive home his plan to re-focus government funds towards a massive overhaul on the infrastructure of Aznazia.

1st Annual Galleon Race to Begin

After nearly 7 months of meticulous planning, organizing and recruiting, Rhodevus is set to launch the first ever cross-regional Galleon race. Contestants that have signed up were given the privilege to build or buy their own galleons. There are rules in place, so that the ships will only have materials that were available in the 1800's, making this a truly unique event. Starting in the Imperial City of Rhode, the great vessels will make their way across the Aznao-Rhodeve Straights, reaching Western Aznazia, before sailing down to the Tropical Republic of Ispanza. From there, the ships will head towards Eubatu, where they will be allowed their first rest stop and supply refill.

After a short break, the ships will be allowed to start, in the same order and time distance from which they arrived, travelling around the South-Eastern coasts of POD and up around Superfruitland. Now in the North of Sunalaya, they will need to battle the extreme weather conditions and freezing temperatures, while they continue on their journey, reaching the Arctic Queendom for their second and final rest stop. The third leg of the race will take them around Lindenholt and down to the Ile of Flowers, where the awards ceremony will take place.

The entire event is to be televised, with Rhodeve patrol boats around the Galleons at all times to ensure maximum safety. The event is scheduled to begin in exactly one weeks time. At the moment, there are 19 teams prepared for this race, with one spot remaining open to any last competitor.
