Prime Minister Adi Letago Begins International Tour With Minor Schedule Changes

New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Adi Letago has embarked on his first international tour. The head of government would be visiting nations that New Vesvai under his government wants to build strategic partner relations with. This would be the first series of visits to these nations in a single tour by Prime Minister Adi Letago since he took office. PM has been to some of these nations before but long before became a politician. Prior visits were for educational purposes.

PM Adi Letago originally wanted to visit Sunrisia, Damsmar, Creperia, Edereon, Daredland and West Zilveren Berg. But PM and his team announced that there have been changes to the head of government schedule. Damsmar was originally sought after as PM’s second stop in the international tour after Sunrisia. But New Vesvai’s government has been unable to schedule PM’s visit to Damsmar with the Damsmarian government. Because of that there have been some last-minute changes made to PM Letago’s international tour schedule. Instead of going to Damsmar after Sunrisia, PM Adi Letago will be going to Edereon as the second stop. It was initially the third in line out of PM’s destinations. PM Letago said there’s no hard feelings and maybe there’s a possibility that things could change and PM might still visit Damsmar before his tour is over. Or if that does not happen then maybe New Vesvai’s and Damsmar’s governments could schedule separate visits to each other’s nations in the future. PM Letago said that his inability to meet with the government of one of MDAA’s member nations is problematic for New Vesvai’s MDAA membership aspirations. But Letago suggested not jumping to conclusions.

PM Adi Letago is kicking off his international tour with Sunrisia where he is travelling to for a first visit since taking office. The nation of Sunrisia has been the primary ally and supporter of New Vesvai in all walks of life before and after New Vesvai’s independence. The nation is also seen as New Vesvai’s personal guardian in more ways than one so it was only appropriate for PM Letago to begin his international tour there out of gratitude.

New Prime Minister Adi Letago Of New Vesvai On A First Official State Visit To Sunrisia

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr is hosting new Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai at the Presidential Palace in Sunrisia. The President has welcomed the Prime Minister of New Vesvai near the Presidential Palace, when the latter’s limo arrived. Both officials exchanged a handshake and introduced each other to the delegations accompanying them. President Sâlúbĕr individually met and exchanged handshakes with each member of the New Vesvaian delegation, while Prime Minister Letago of New Vesvai was introduced to each official that greeted the Prime Minister of New Vesvai alongside the President. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai then proceeded to go into the Presidential Palace.

According to a tradition he enjoys, President Válîd Sâlúbĕr gave Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai an informal tour of the Presidential Palace, during which both of them got to establish regular human contact, rather than the formal one between 2 foreign officials. After the tour, the President and the Prime Minister of New Vesvai sat down for talks, but first, the press took some images of them. Afterwards, the press left the room. The President and the Prime Minister were left to speak with the interpreters and members of their “entourage” each by their side. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr had Vice President Amíc Fútûra, Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta and other officials by his side. Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai had his own accompanying delegation members by his side.

During their opening remarks, President Sâlúbĕr stated the following:

“Mr. Prime Minister, through you, I would like to congratulate the people of New Vesvai on the triumph of the Silver Revolution. The previous government in New Vesvai had warmongering schemes, one of which was supposed to include our country as well, as both of us and our people now know. They also had plans to falsify the future general election in your country and kill democracy in the same way that their counterparts in the Dominion of Vesvai had done. Based on the ideals that the defunct AIT coalition were originally fighting for in Vesvai and New Vesvai, what they ended up doing is so hypocritical, that it is difficult to even describe. It was correctly noted that they were the products of the same political species as today’s government in Vesvai and all that they were fighting for was power for themselves and not for actual democracy in either of the Vesvais. There might have been genuine democracy defenders in either branch of AIT, but it is unfortunate they got used and abused like that by thinking that they had joined the “good guys.” The previous government in New Vesvai went from being a “government” and turned into a “regime” as soon as they began crafting those plans. In addition to provoking a war and falsifying the election to remain in power, the regime also had plans related torture and bloodshed, while intending to keep it discrete all the way throughout. Your people might not have even found out about all this before it was too late, if it was not for the selfless heroics of Mr. Kaleo Aitebi, whom we were honored to welcome here and provide protection to.

It is fortunate that Mr. Aitebi did what he did and proved that there are still true selfless patriots out there around the world, who are willing to risk everything for their fellow citizens and the country at large. Many people take those risks and it does not always work out like it should, which is why not everybody is always willing to come forward. It is fortunate that New Vesvai ended up being one of those situations, where good triumphed over evil. The citizens of New Vesvai did not stay indifferent or scared after finding out their national leadership’s plans and had risen up against the regime to dismantle it along with the old system. That was another triumphant day in your young country’s brief history, where your people proved to be a free-minded and brave people, unafraid of foreign aggression and unwilling to be submissive and abused by a regime that starts viewing itself as the unchallenged authority, rather than a citizen-serving government. Your young country’s brief history is already full of heroic chapters and not every country can say it has something like.

I would like to congratulate your country on the successful, free and fair democratic election in New Vesvai, which, again, was the result of a successful uprising in your country, where your people had saved democracy from a government that was seeking to transform itself into a power-grabbing regime. I would like to congratulate your party for becoming one of the 2 leading parties in the country by forming a governing coalition. I would like to congratulate you personally on your appointment as Prime Minister. Your personal leadership in your country’s revolution and the fact that you are today the head of government in New Vesvai, is a natural progression that feels like it was meant to be and those are the vibes I have been getting from your citizens as well, Mr. Prime Minister, who supported your candidacy to the position. We are happy for you, because you have come a long personal way from the revolution to premiership and your commitment showed you as being a true patriot of your country, just like Mr. Kaleo Aitebi, who will now deservingly lead your country’s Intelligence Directorate, and also your country’s brave military service personnel, who stood in defense of your country before independence, after independence, who defected from the previous regime and joined your people in the revolution, and also who recently defended New Vesvai with everything they had in the war on the island that took place just now. Our wonderful soldiers, our own national heroes, who fought shoulder to shoulder with your country’s soldiers, can confirm that the heroics of the soldiers of New Vesvai and how they are the living definition of the word “patriot.”

I would like to assure you and your country that Sunrisia will continue to support New Vesvai. We supported the people of New Vesvai as they rose up in the Silver Revolution, which had strained our relations with the country of New Vesvai because the old regime was still in power, whom we no longer supported. We believe that you and I today, will normalize those relations again and build a new strategic partnership between our countries, now that the revolution in New Vesvai has won and a citizen-backed government has acceded to leadership. We believe that your citizens have wonderful things ahead in their lives and so does your country as a whole. We will support your reform, your social and economic progress, the strengthening of democracy and the movement of New Vesvai into a better future. Let your revolution live on beyond the regime change, but manifest itself in your country’s further transformation.”

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr also noted that Sunrisia will personally advocate in favor of the aspirations of New Vesvai to integrate into SOWEFTA and MDAA. Full support would be something that will have to be coordinated with other member states of both organizations. Only after there is a consensus, can new members be admitted. After the opening remarks by President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai, bilateral talks began. Cabinet and administration officials like Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta are participating in the talks between the President and the Prime Minister of New Vesvai, however, they will play a greater role in the next round of talks. Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá, Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Díva Plénâta, and representatives of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce, as a Sunrisian delegation, will hold talks at the long table with the delegation of New Vesvai to cover other specific areas of bilateral relations.

After the talks are concluded, President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai will hold a joint press conference. Later, President Sâlúbĕr plans to award Prime Minister Letago of New Vesvai with the Golden Sun honor for his leadership in the Silver Revolution in New Vesvai, leadership in the first democratically-elected government of New Vesvai since the Silver Revolution, contributions to the advance of liberty, democracy, human rights and peace. Finally, Prime Minister Adi Letago of New Vesvai will be invited to visit the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia. There, the Prime Minister of New Vesvai would meet Speaker Prémăs Dîcéra, Sunrisian lawmakers, and given the opportunity to address the Convet from a podium as foreign guests often do.

Foreign Minister Mina Symank rejects recent North Baggnagian accusations against South Baggnagia

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – North Baggnagia has accused South Baggnagia of another conspiracy against it. Yesterday the North Baggnagian state media accused the South Baggnagian Protection Army and South Baggnagia as a whole (who they refer to as just the South) of trying to launch cyber-attacks against the North Baggnagian military and civilian infrastructure. This was supposed to paralyze or at least weaken the state. Afterwards the air force of South Baggnagia was supposed to launch an aerial campaign and bombard the paralyzed and disoriented North Baggnagia. This would later allow for the South Baggnagian Protection Army to launch a ground invasion and occupy the bombarded North and maybe even reach Silcenda. Sunrisia was accused as a curator who gave out such a command to the South Baggnagian leadership who’s as a satellite of Sunrisia. That was the picture painted by the North Baggnagian propaganda machine.

The unfounded information was supposedly presented to the North Baggnagian Holy Army by the Reconnaissance General Bureau of South Baggnagia (RGBSB) and other North Baggnagian intelligence agencies. Supposedly the North Baggnagian Holy Army then realized that they have seen activities on the South’s side signaling that South Baggnagia was preparing for an attack. North Baggnagian military tech experts saw bugs infecting their systems and there was detection of provocative behavior by the air force of South Baggnagia. Combining these two observations together and supporting them with the intelligence given by the North Baggnagian agencies the North’s troops detected a conspiracy. The military then announced that it had taken precautionary measures by increasing the North’s cyber-security and increasing the presence of the North Baggnagian Holy Army near the South Baggnagian border. That last move was for deterrence of a South Baggnagian aerial invasion that South Baggnagia was supposedly planning.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Baggnagia Mina Symank came out in rejection of North Baggnagian accusations that saw the participation not only of the propaganda journalism but also of the nation’s military and even its leader Marshal Jan Tillich:

These accusations against South Baggnagia are unfounded and unproven. We think it is unwise for North Baggnagia to wage informational war against us and try to discredit us with this kind of so-called reporting. This is sabotage of the successful peacemaking efforts we have been engaged together in for peace between both Baggnagian states. This hostile and I’d event say chauvinist propaganda is a mistake and its unnecessary. You are not simply hurting us but sabotaging the peace process that benefits us both in the end. Why would you try to ruin it?

As economy sinks, Layfetian companies are a go for sale

The Layfetian Department of Commerce, which oversees the nation's state owned industries is announcing that it will be selling several of its state companies in order to help the government pay down some of its debts and invest in public works. Congress narrowly approved the measure, and while there is concern for the various workers at these companies, the Department of Commerce said it will only sell the companies to entities or individuals who will keep workers "gainfully employed with a living wage", but this is merely a promise as once the companies are sold off, they fall on VU common labor laws and only receive minimal protections from the Layfetian government. The sale is announced for November 3rd and all entities that wish to buy the companies are required to attend the sale at the World Diplomatic Tower in Tonnes, Layfet.

In preparation for the sale, the Department of Commerce has divided the companies into three groups depending on their "health", with companies like Layfetian Telecoms and Layfetian Computer Systems, which is not self sufficient being in the C group. Other C group companies for sale include Layfetian Computer Systems, which owns 5% of the domestic computer market, and Layfetian Telecoms which owns 15% of the domestic cell network.

B group companies include National Robotics, which owns 35% of the domestic robotic market, the A group includes Layfet Rail Co. owning 100% of the Domestic rail market, and Air Layfet which owns 100% of the Domestic air market. National Motor Works is going for a partial sale, selling 35% of its shares.

New Head Of The Intelligence Directorate Kaleo Aitebi Welcomed At The HQ, Prime Minister Adi Letago In Sunrisia

Kaleo Aitebi has been greeted by fellow intelligence officers in his grand return to New Vesvai’s primary intelligence agency. But this was not just Aitebi’s return to the agency. Rather it was also a personal evolution for the man who has been credited for laying the groundwork for the Silver Revolution. Aitebi made the historic leaks of the classified information and then proceeded to leave New Vesvai as a “rookie.” But now Aitebi has returned to the Intelligence Directorate as a the New Head of the agency. Today Aitebi came back to the Intelligence Directorate HQ with nostalgia in his heart and also slight nervousness because Aitebi originally feared for his life after making the leaks and believed that the Intelligence Directorate could be institution to threaten his safety. That’s what motivated him to flee New Vesvai. But now Aitebi is at the top of the hierarchy after the he accepted the government’s offer to become New Head of the Intelligence Directorate and being appointed to the position legally soon after. Aitebi gave the first address as the agency’s New Head at the HQ. He committed to help change the Intelligence Directorate to disassociate from the agency that served the previous regime and from the organization he fled. That might involve a lustration process to remove the agents that were loyal to the previous regime and its plans. Aitebi’s message is that the Intelligence Directorate must reform with the rest of New Vesvai and its institutions. That is what the revolution is all about.

In news from abroad Prime Minister Adi Letago is in Sunrisia. It is the PM’s first stop in his first international tour. PM Letago has met with Sunrisian President Válîd Sâlúbĕr and top officials of his administration. The visit includes a joint press conference of PM and the Sunrisian President and Letago’s visit to the Sunrisian parliament: Convet. PM Letago’s first foreign visit being to Sunrisia carries a symbolic meaning of appreciation for Sunrisian support and an emphasis on how vital a strategic alliance with this specific nation is. PM is there to further deepen New Vesvai’s and Sunrisia’s relationship and rally support for New Vesvai’s acceptance into MDAA and SOWEFTA. “Flail 10–11”: The Final Day Of The Military Exercise

Today is the final day of the “Flail 10–11” military exercise between MDAA (Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia) and Daredland. The concluding drill is the 3rd of 4 planned exercises that were originally proposed and outlined by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér. As mentioned in previous stories related to this series of military exercises – “Fire Wall” was the first one, the MDAA joint naval drills were second, and the currently-ongoing and now-concluding “Flail 10–11” is the third. The “Flail 10–11” military exercise was in active stages of preparation, while the MDAA joint naval drills were still ongoing, which is why “Flail 10–11” could begin so soon after the MDAA joint naval drills ended on October 4th after 43 days of duration. The same approach was taken with the upcoming 4th and final exercise. While “Flail 10–11” had been ongoing, the 4th and final military exercise, which is currently without a disclosed codename yet, has also been in active stages of preparation. This will allow for the 4th drill to begin soon after “Flail 10–11” ends.

As mentioned before, not much has been told about the final military exercise. All that has been revealed by the Department of Security, on behalf of Sunrisia as an initiator of these drills, is that the final military exercise will be the most “intense” and with “highest stakes”, which is appropriate for the culminating drill. Although the codename and the duration are not known, the primary reason for which the drill stands out from the rest, is that it is going to revolve around a DEFCON 1 scenario, simulating a nuclear war. Not long after that, the Englean state media announced an ACIS military exercise – Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer), as well as Operation "Grison", which will be a joint drill between Englean forces and Daredland’s Weniges separatist forces. The latter would involve its’ own DEFCON 1 scenario and simulate a nuclear war scenario. In conclusion, rival military drills in Western Corentia and Eastern Corentia simulating a nuclear war, will coincide and take place simultaneously.

Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér said that the untitled DEFCON 1 military exercise that Sunrisia is proposing, will have a larger scope in comparison to the “parallel exercise” on the other half of the continent, stating that it would simulate a nuclear confrontation with adversaries beyond just the “Corentian context.”

MILITARY BASE, SOUTHERN PROVINCES, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich has Honored the North Baggnagian Holy Army troops by Gracing them with His presence. The Great Leader arrived at one of the Holy Army’s military bases in a southern province of North Baggnagia close to the border with South. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich was there to see how hard the military has been progressing towards the Goal that was authorized by the Executive Order of His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich. The Great Leader wrote an Executive Order commanding that North Baggnagia create an advanced and leading cyber-security system to defend against enemy nation and terrorist cyber-attacks. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich was motivated to sign the Executive Order after North Baggnagia faced cyber-attack from the South and from Sunrisian foreign imperialists controlling the South. North Baggnagia saw cyber-attacks against military infrastructure and civilian infrastructure. Being the Genius that He is, the Great Leader wasted no time and immediately wrote an Executive Order to build an invulnerable cyber-security platform. “Flail 10–11” Ends, 4th And Final Military Exercise On The Way

The “Flail 10–11” military exercise has ended after 28 days. Having begun on October 7th, the declared final day of the military exercise was November 3rd, yesterday. Nevertheless, the drill has officially stopped today, in the early hours of November 4th Central Standard Time (CST). Out of those 28 days, the Sunrisian soldiers were let go for a day-off on October 31st, but then return to complete the participation in the exercise, along with some new soldiers being deployed to partake. During the absence of the primary Sunrisian forces on that single day, there were still some armed formations, military elements and civil defense militia organizations, who in cooperation with the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF), were allowed to fill in for the Sunrisian Military on October 31st.

Like its’ 2 predecessor drills, “Flail 10–11” was part of 4 Sunrisian-proposed military exercises, mapped out by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér, supported by National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên and by commander-in-chief President Válîd Sâlúbĕr. “Flail 10–11” followed “Fire Wall” (the first exercise with 32 days of duration) and MDAA joint naval drills in northwestern Corentia, southwestern Dogmana and international waters to the south of Corentia (the second exercise conglomerate with 43 days of duration). “Flail 10–11” was the second of 3 now-concluded drills to be carried out under the MDAA flag. “Fire Wall” was a military exercise in Western Corentia that was simply treated as a joint drill between the forces of Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia, all of which just happen to be the 4 full member states of the MDAA alliance. The joint naval drills were the first of the exercises to finally be done under the alliance’s flag. “Fire Wall” and MDAA joint naval drills both involved all 4 full member states of MDAA – Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia. “Flail 10–11”, which formally ended today, had a new fifth participant – Daredland, a country that is still only an associate state of MDAA (or associate member as call it), but aspires to become a full member state of the alliance. Obviously, the other participants were the traditionally-returning aforementioned 4 full member states of MDAA. “Flail 10–11” stood out of the 3 exercises by having the largest number of participating countries, as well by being the most comprehensive and intense.

Nevertheless, the fourth and final military exercise, which will close out and be the culmination of Minister Spêctér’s “quadrilogy” or “tetralogy” of military exercises, is said to be the most intense and risqué. That has been voiced by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér himself, backed up by National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên and also by Secretary of Sunrisia in MDAA Grán Róbâsta. That is why it is only appropriate for it to be the final exercise and the one to close out everything, because the soldiers have gone through all the training to finally be prepared for this “climactic drill”, which as we already know, will revolve around a DEFCON 1/nuclear war simulated scenario.

SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – North Baggnagia is enhancing its cyber security while justifying its effort as a preemptive measure against cyber-attacks by enemy nations and terrorists. But the North Baggnagian propaganda machine is still pointing fingers at South Baggnagia and also to South Baggnagian ally Sunrisia. The North Baggnagian leadership remains by its conspiracy that South Baggnagia or Sunrisia or both were to blame for cyber-attacks that North Baggnagia faced some time ago. The North said its military and civilian infrastructure came under attack in those cyber-attacks. The recent news report from the North Baggnagian state media was about North Baggnagian leader Marshal Jan Tillich visiting a military base in the south of North Baggnagia close to South Baggnagian border. That news report reiterated the theory of South Baggnagia or Sunrisia or both being perpetrators of cyber-attacks against North Baggnagia. Even though there was some third nation that claimed responsibility or involvement in the Baggnagian cyber-attacks. That was probably Dermitor. South Baggnagia also faced cyber-attacks against itself and North Baggnagia became a primary suspect. It was part a logical conclusion that North Baggnagia would be the only one to do this. And it was part retaliatory accusation against North Baggnagia for its unfounded blame on South Baggnagia for the cyber-attacks.

Conspiracy theories developed in South Baggnagia where it was theorized that the North Baggnagian leadership committed a false-flag attack and launched cyber-attacks against their own nation to discredit South Baggnagia and Sunrisia. It would have rallied the North Baggnagian populace in anger against the South and also have given the North Baggnagian leadership an excuse for cyber-attacks against South Baggnagia and Sunrisia as retaliation. Thanks to propaganda and the populace not actually knowing what’s going on in their nation, those so-called retaliatory cyber-attacks would be supported. In reality that’s what technically ended up happening in that order. But continued perpetuating of blaming South Baggnagia for cyber-attacks on North Baggnagia and the recent unfounded reports of South Baggnagia trying to secretly invade the North are causing concern again. Even with all the peace efforts and diplomacy, the South Baggnagian diplomats see that the North Baggnagian propaganda is still trying to demonize South Baggnagia and prepare the North’s populace for a possible future war against the South. It just doesn’t seem that the North wants to let go of its dream to reunite Baggnagian land but only under the North’s flag.

There is also a different side of things in this whole situation is what it seems. Blaming the risk of foreign enemies or terrorists possibly launching new cyber-attacks on North Baggnagia in the future could be a ploy by the North’s leadership to excuse its mass cyber security advancement project. And that is already enough for Minister of Defense of South Baggnagia Stanislaw Šturm to sound the alarm bell and try to convince the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia that South Baggnagia must immediately move on with an identical project. This would not quite make it a traditional arms race between the neighbors but a new century technological race of cybernetic weaponry. Defense Minister Stanislaw Šturm is yet to go to the Congress with the formal proposal so there have been no reactions from any major officials on this topic yet.

Wenigberg, Weniges Reich-- As the month of November begins, so has the ACIS Corentian Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer). This series of wargames involves the nations of the Englean Kaiserreich, Talvistova, Belantica, and the Weniges Reich in a scenario that pits them against the simulated full force of the MDAA. This operation has been unique due to it being the first inclusion of the Weniges Reich in such a situation, and that it is the first Englean "DEFCON 1" simulation in nearly a decade. Many have stated that the operation comes as a response to the MDAA "Flail 10-11" exercise which has a similar basis, although the GKSeK has stated that this is incorrect and that this had been planned "ahead of time."

Within the overall exercise is the smaller "Operation Grison," which is designed to test the preparation of the Weniges Reich for two scenarios: a full invasion of its territory by the Occupied Territory of Daredland to reclaim the latter's "territory," and a DEFCON 1 situation in which Englean-Weniges forces are engaged with Sunrisian nuclear weapons. Currently the Kaiserliche Heer and the Weniges Reichsheer are reaching the middle stages of the first scenario, with Kaiserliche Heer officials reportedly being "surprised" by the performance of the Weniges Reichsheer. According to an unnamed source, Weniges forces were successful in 7.5 out of 10 simulated battles, which entailed Englean forces simulating Daredi invasion forces. The source stated that the Kaiserliche Heer admired the "Weniges tenacity to defend their homeland, even employing tactics used by guerilla Freikorps tactics during the Damsmarian invasion in the Second Great War when found in difficult urban situations. In addition, the equipment of the Weniges Reichsheer with the Jaguar III main battle tank had seen a dramatic increase in effectiveness of the branch. Although their equipment is only up to the "Ausf. A4+" variant, it has been estimated that these vehicles will be capable of defeating their Daredi counterparts. The DEFCON 1 scenario is expected to begin next week.

In other news out of the Weniges Reich, President Helmuth Fehrenbacher and his military staff visited the Operation Grison exercises this week to inspect the Weniges forces. During these trying times with establishing the Weniges Reich's independence, President Fehrenbacher has not been seen within the news as much as his Daredi counterparts. This absence, he stated, was due to the "situation which does not allow much time outside of the capital." Nevertheless, both Weniger and Englean troops alike appeared to welcome the presence of one of the officials working to to preserve full Weniges independence. While this was mostly a standard visit by a nation's leader, the most noteworthy portion was the small statement that President Fehrenbacher delivered towards both the troops and to the Daredis on the other side of the border.

While I am proud to be present during this momentous event, it is unfortunate that we must do such a function on the basis of tests of preparedness to defend our land agains those who wish to take it away once more. Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia and Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia, have jointly travelled to South Baggnagia for an unscheduled visit. Konföderaleswehr boosts presence at the Weniges demarcation line over ACIS military drill, awaiting next MDAA military drill

The Daredi Konföderaleswehr has increased numbers of forces near the demarcation line with the self-declared Weniges Reich. This announcement was made by Confederal Minister of Defense and Protection of the Daredi Confederation Lukas Armbrüster. The boosted military presence has been linked to Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer), the ACIS military drill in Eastern Corentia which this time involves the militia of the self-declared Weniges Reich for the very first time. The Weniges militia was announced to be involved in this ACIS group exercise Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer) together with the forces of the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg, the Island Territory of Belantica (ITB) and Talvistova. There is also a separate individual Englean–Weniges drill “Operation Grison” that involves a DEFCON 1 simulation. Supposedly the drill will involve the so-called defense of the self-declared Weniges Reich by Englean and Weniges forces along with defense from a Sunrisian nuclear strike.

Back at the United Confederal Assembly of the Daredi Confederation the positions of specific parties in both chambers: lower house National Council and upper house Council of States have coincided. As usual the Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND) party has been the most vocal, critical and did not refrain from undiplomatic talk. WCND members at the National Council and the Council of States said that Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer) and “Operation Grison” proves two things that the Daredi side has proclaimed all along. There is a lot to paraphrase what the WCND party MPs said.

According to WCND the first thing that these drills prove is that the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg is indeed an imperialist foreign occupant state and a “former master” that has invaded Daredland, detached parts of its eastern territory in the Wenigberg region and has it being controlled by a proxy entity known as the Weniges Reich. The Germanic Empire is trying to rebuild and expand by reuniting all of its former land and more under a single black, white and red tricolor. More so the separation of Neu-Steinland never sat well with the Englean state because it was part of the Empire’s collapse. Also the existence of the Daredi Confederation as a culturally fraternal neighboring state but one that has chosen democracy does not sit well with Kaiserlich monarchist and autocratic leadership that believes in dominant and unchallenged power over an Empire. A democratic and successful Daredland will equal the further collapse of the pursued Germanic Empire and set a bad example for the “Englean brothers” who might get sick of the Kaiser one day. WCND members added that there will obviously will (or have already been depending on when the drill took place) Englean boots (this time openly) on the ground in the self-proclaimed Weniges Reich during “Operation Grison.” The physical presence of Englean forces in the occupied eastern territories of the Daredi Confederation that are controlled by an Englean proxy entity the self-declared Weniges Reich is a violation of Daredi sovereignty. WCND said it reinstates the Englean state as a foreign occupant on Daredi soil.

The second thing that Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer) and “Operation Grison” confirm is that the Englean state is a State Sponsor of Terrorism. WCND says that the Englean state is arming, training, helping and holding exercises with a militia that has picked up arms, overthrown the legal municipal governments in several easternmost cities of the Wenigberg region and proclaimed the Weniges Reich in those territories. Now these armed formations are openly being propped up, embraced and legitimized by the Englean state. The Daredi Confederation has declared the Englean state a State Sponsor of Terrorism before over support for the Weniges militia. There are now news coming out of Damsmar that the Englean state may be involved in helping bomb-planting and armed militia there too which supports the State Sponsor of Terrorism title more. WCND says that involving the Weniges militia in Operation "Scherenschnabel" (Skimmer) and “Operation Grison” is the latest open demonstration of imperialism and State Sponsorship of Terrorism by the Englean state. It also throws shade at the ACIS organization at large for agreeing to include the Weniges militia in the drill and thereby supporting them. But this is not out of the ordinary since ACIS member ITB too has received a label of State Sponsor of Terrorism in the past from the Daredi Confederation.

The Social Liberal Party (SLP) has also taken a position but it was of a different kind. The SLP opposition party MPs at the National Council and the Council of States have thrown shade at the ACIS drills and at MDAA drills too. They said that the competition between these drills is turning Corentia in a “powder keg” and that is especially the case now when MDAA and ACIS are holding competing exercises with DEFCON 1 nuclear simulations at the same time. Speaking of the MDAA drill that the SLP party was referring to Confederal Minister of Defense and Protection of the Daredi Confederation Lukas Armbrüster explained that the boosted presence of the Konföderaleswehr near the Weniges demarcation line is aimed at increased defense readiness while ACIS drill is happening and in anticipation of the MDAA drill which Daredland will be a part of as an associate member. It just so happens that the ACIS drill appears to have outrun the next MDAA drill in time because MDAA has just finished the most recent one. This time gap until the next MDAA drill has required an increased defense readiness and presence of the Konföderaleswehr near the Weniges demarcation line. The next MDAA drill which will also be a DEFCON 1 nuclear simulation will encompass Daredi territory among the location where it will be happening. This has been done by the appeal of the Daredi government to the MDAA bloc.

Manuel-Caruso Lopez elected leader of the Alternate Liberal party, with manifesto launch this Friday

Today at the Alternate Liberal party pre-election conference in Trecamar, the party membership voted on the leadership of the party. It was between the favoured Manuel-Caruso Lopez a key party ally of the former leader Christina Anderson, and Aurélie Appell MUP for Suroelado South. Both contestants faced off as they debated policy, with huge emphasis around the security situation in north Montedoran, along with rising domestic matters such as budgetary constraints on public services. At 7pm, the votes accumulated from paper ballots issued at the conference and telephone votes was counted. With 67% of the vote, Lopez was officially made the leader of the Alternate Liberal Party. Lopez a key ally within the party to Christina Anderson, was slated to win as soon as his name entered the ballot. There was an urgency to the contest as the party leadership committee aim for Friday to launch the manifesto pending the input from the party leader.

However, what do we know about Manuel-Caruso Lopez? Lopez, a long-time Liberal member was born in Palacon, SW of Paree (Chalendon) in 1968 making him one of the younger leaders of the party. He quickly became involved in regional politics, joining the Chalendon Liberal and Unionist Party in 1974 which became a part of the wider Damsmarian peace and unification movement. In 1988, 8 years after the Chalendon Liberal and Unionist Parties joined other liberal parties to form the Damsmarian Liberal Party, Lopez was elected the Liberal MUP for Palacon and Treiste. In 2010, after years of working up within the party Lopez was appointed to a senior government advisor role within the Bailorian Healthcare Executive - from there he has worked numerous terms as an appointed minister for the regional Bailorian Health and Social Care Executive. Under the Anderson administration he became a senior personal adviser to the Unitary Commissioner and was noted by many to be the "deputy leader of the Alternate Liberal party."

Speaking to the Alternate Liberal party conference shortly after winning the ballot, Manuel-Caruso Lopez made his opening statement as leader. "Thank you for picking me to be the next leader of this party, and hopefully, the next Damsmarian Commissioner. Our party has come a long way since the days of the Damsmarian Liberal Party. We have grown and changed but our aim to better our nation and its people has not. Lets make this clear, we have a lot of work to do. There are pressing issues we face which must be fixed until we are able to march on, most notably what we are seeing in the Montedoran at the moment. In our manifesto launch on Friday I aim to put forward the entirety of the new party policy, with agreement from party representatives based across Damsmar. We are going to remain the party of consensus within the Unitary political stage, because a country of consensus can only be built from the ground up. Congress of National Sovereignty peacefully surrenders power to the military

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – We continue live coverage of the situation in the capital Jugac and occasionally transfer broadcast to other South Baggnagian cities, including the Neodvisni exclave. The South Baggnagian Protection Army has taken charge. The military has not burst into any TV station buildings as of yet including our own. But that possibility is expected if the troops wish to explain what is actually happening. All broadcasters are prepared for such a possibility. Pretty much the only structure that the military units in Jugac are now focused on is the building of the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia. Members of Congress remain inside and in the session hall while the troops are outside. Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustav Feldt is at Congress right now. Notable cabinet officials also present include Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Baggnagia Mina Symank and Minister of Defense of South Baggnagia Stanislaw Šturm.

To refresh memory on the situation. Tanks and other land vehicles of the South Baggnagian Protection Army were spotted on the streets of Jugac yesterday late at night. A similar sight was later reported at other South Baggnagian cities. Even helicopters have made several fly-bys through the skies above Jugac and other key cities. That caused some noise but apparently not enough. The streets were pretty much empty because it was a Thursday night and work or school week was not over yet. But those citizens that did get curious and confidently approached the military to ask what was going on, received the answer to “stay calm.” Needless to say there was no immediate reaction or rapid public gathering triggered by the South Baggnagian Protection Army appearing on the nation’s city streets when they should’ve been at military bases. One of the reasons could have been the previously mentioned fact it was Thursday night and work or school week wasn’t over yet. But there also could’ve been an agreement through silence and lack of reaction from the citizens of South Baggnagia. Many probably realized what was going on which is that the nation’s military has intervened in the political situation in the state. The South Baggnagian Protection Army was taking charge of the situation. Even though the military’s function is only to defend the state from national security threats sometimes it is accepted that the army will make an unconventional step to defy the government, declare mutiny and take up police action to defend what they see as public interest. But another version could be that the citizens don’t actually fully understand what’s happening.

The resistance from the Congress of National Sovereignty to the military’s defiant action can’t really be backed up by any legality arguments because the Congress itself originally came to power through constitutional loopholes and supported by nationalist or anti-globalist demonstrations. The presidency and parliament of South Baggnagia were dismantled and the Congress of National Sovereignty took over. Some foreign nations called that a coup. Point is that there doesn’t seem to be much resistance from the Congress, almost as if it were informed by the commanders of the South Baggnagian Protection Army that this would happen. The only ones most confused here seem to be the citizens and also law enforcement that doesn’t know how to actually react.

From what we know so far, how it appears to us, this is not some rouge faction of the South Baggnagian Protection Army that has rebelled while the rest of the military remains loyal to the Congress of National Sovereignty. That’s not the case. The military pretty much appears to be working together as a single force in defiance to the Congress and its orders. The armed forces are acting together. Even in the exclaved territory of Neodvisni the local South Baggnagian forces are said to be in collaboration with mainland South Baggnagian forces. They are following the orders of the military command now and have defected from the Congress of National Sovereignty.

We see that South Baggnagian soldiers have entered the hall while the members of Congress have been encouraged to stay seated. The Congress security was not much of challenge or probably has not resisted at all. And Chairman Gustav Feldt has just vocally declared that the Congress of National Sovereignty was resigning in its entirety as the government of South Baggnagia. Power has just been peacefully surrendered to the South Baggnagian Protection Army before our very eyes.

4th And Final Military Exercise – “Blazing Hail” Begins, Simulating A DEFCON 1 Scenario And A Nuclear War With Eastern Corentia, Dogmana, Etc.

MDAA member states – Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia, as well as MDAA associate state Daredland and a new MDAA aspirant New Vesvai, have started the anticipated fourth and final military exercise out of a series of drills proposed by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér. “Blazing Hail” follows “Fire Wall”, MDAA joint naval drills in northwestern Corentia, southwestern Dogmana and international waters south of Corentia, as well as “Flail 10–11.” The 4 drills have taken place basically one after another with short breaks, because while 1 one the drills was going one, the second one was already in the intense stages of preparation, so it could be ready soon after the previous drill had wrapped up. The 3 previous drills had a long duration. “Fire Wall” lasted 32 days, MDAA joint naval drills in northwestern Corentia, southwestern Dogmana and international waters to the south of Corentia lasted 43 days, and “Flail 10–11” was 28 days. “Blazing Hail” would be no exception and also have a respectable duration. This is the largest of the 4 exercises, as it involves 6 countries. It is the third drill to take place under the MDAA banner, despite involving one country that is only an associate state and one that is a non-MDAA external military partner, despite declaring intentions to integrate with the alliance since the revolution. “Blazing Hail” is also the most controversial of the 4 drills, because it is the military exercise that will simulate a DEFCON 1/Nuclear War scenario. That aspect and exception that makes “Blazing Hail” stand out from the previous 3 exercises, was declared before the drill had a codename. Because of its’ “nuclear scenario” which makes it the most intense and risqué, it is appropriate for “Blazing Hail” to be the final drill that concludes the quadruple series.

“Blazing Hail” simulates a nuclear war with specific enemies in mind, rather than fictional ones. Eastern Corentia, specifically ACIS, and Dogmana, specifically ROVAA and the Commonwealth of Rhodevus member states in that part of the world, are the immediate simulated enemies, however, the nuclear war scenario can also help develop skills to face off against potential enemies in other parts of the world. Eastern Ventismar, Ophion, North Baggnagia (which is a country suspected of potentially pursuing a nuclear weapon down the line), were named as some of other geographic and geopolitical adversaries that the nuclear confrontation scenario may apply to. The Department of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia also included Ispanza, a geographically Corentian island country/archipelago, but viewed as an extension of the Domganan-centered military blocs because of its’ history and current affiliations, being a former colony and a current de facto outpost of those blocs, located to Sunrisia’s southwest. Some member states of ROVAA and the Commonwealth of Rhodevus still posses nuclear weapons, therefore, not only military bases and other military infrastructure can be placed in Ispanza, but also nuclear weapons. Therefore, for Sunrisia in particular, “Blazing Hail” helps prepare for a scenario where Ispanza might be eligible for a potential military strike in case of open confrontation and in case of the archipelago’s usage for stationing nuclear weapons. “Blazing Hail” also prepares participant countries, and Sunrisia in particular, to confront rogue states that might emerge and take aggressive action against countries participating in this drill or around the world in general. The exercise itself was described to possess a “defensive characteristic” and simulates the final apocalyptic scenario of a military conflict, where conventional warfare escalates into nuclear warfare when all “red lines” are crossed. However, the Department of Security did take a risk and did not deny that “Blazing Hail” may involve a scenario of a preemptive first strike, which is now allowed by Sunrisia’s altered nuclear doctrine, but said to be eligible for usage as a last resort option only in case of defense against a direct attack or invasion, rather than randomly. Sunrisia’s altered nuclear doctrine options a preemptive first strike in case of an attack or invasion against itself and against allies, however, in the recent brief Vesvai War, where Sunrisian forces fought in defense of New Vesvai, the nuclear option was not considered. Also, in case of an open confrontation that escalates into a nuclear one, the enemy’s missile defense systems would come under attack to take away the adversary’s anti-nuclear shield. The Sunrisian government does not deny that nearby missile defense systems stationed by foreign adversaries in the region after Sunrisia changed its’ nuclear doctrine, have since been under consistent aim as a threat to Sunrisia’s own nuclear deterrent.

“Blazing Hail” coincides with Operation "Scherenschnabel", translated as Operation “Skimmer” by ACIS, and “Operation Grison”, which is a military exercise between Englean forces and the separatist militia of the self-proclaimed Weniges Reich in eastern Daredland. Operation Grison also includes a DEFCON 1 scenario, where Englean and Weniges separatist forces fight off Daredi forces attempting to de-occupy Daredi eastern lands from militant control and drive out invading Englean forces. However, the DEFCON 1 part involves defense against a Sunrisian nuclear strike, as Sunrisia is an ally of Daredland and is therefore perceived as a potential party to this hypothetical confrontation. One thing is for certain and that is if Daredland manages to join MDAA as a full member, then being provided a nuclear shield by Sunrisia would be a guarantee. At the moment, the situation is ambiguous when it comes to the defense of the alliance’s associate state, however, the Sâlúbĕr administration refuses to humor the idea that it might not stand up for Daredland. It is a turbulent coincidence that MDAA and ACIS have rival “nuclear scenario” exercises practically taking place simultaneously in the opposite halves of the Corentian continent, however, both sides claim this to be a coincidence, where the drills were plans separately and ahead of each other, rather than being a direct response to each other.

President Aljubeli to Step Down as President, New Federal Eleciton Called

Today, while adressing the National Assembly, President Aljubeli, the much beloved President, has announced his retirement. The 78 year old has served in Office for 11 years, and many credit his policies to the boom in the Ashukali economy which has marked his Presidency. And yet, despite his record 78% approval rating, President Aljubeli has stated that he will be stepping down from the Presidency and retiring form politics altogether.

"I have served the office of the President for over a decade," Said the President in his address to the National Assembly. "And in that time I have seen Ashukal grow from an impoverished nation with an economy entirely dependent on oil, to a modern state of prosperity, inclusiveness, culture, and understanding. Each day I have been humbled by the spirit of hard work, determination, and hospitality, and I could not be prouder. I can not express the honor I feel to have worked alongside you all, members of the National Assembly and Senate, and the joy I have had serving the people of this great nation.

However, my time as your President must come to an end. The world is changing, and we, as a people, must change with it. I'm growing old now, and I think it the height of hubris to believe that I will always be able to serve you faithfully into this new era. It is time to turn the reigns over to the new generation, to guide you all into this new and prosperous future we find ourselves in. It is with this heavy yet hopeful heart that I officially announce my retirement from politics and my abdication as President. I wish you all the best, and know that I will cherish these moments, good and bad, forever."

With that, the National Assembly moved unanimously to call for a new Federal election, the first in eight years, the last being undertaken early on in President Aljubeli's tenure as President. The date of election day is undecided, the Electoral Office still needing time to decide. However, if past trends continue, expect to be heading to the polls sometime in mid-January.

Even with the sudden announcement, a number of Assembly and Senate members have indicated their interest in running for the Presidency. Imen Al-Ghazzawi, a young Senator who recently gained his seat last spring, has already been making his mark on social media for pushing an environmentalist agenda. He has stated that he intends to throw his name into the ring when the electoral race officially kicks off, promising that he will fight for the curbing of fossil-fuel extraction and refinement and utilizing the funds generated from the National Investment Fund to fund the transition of Ashukal into a Green Economy.

Another notable name is Shukriya Khoroushi, another young member of the government, this time a member of the National Assembly. Known for her fiery rhetoric in regards to national security issues, she has also announced her intentions to run with a more international focus. With tensions around the world mounting, citing an increase in tensions in Corentia and the recent Eikangaardi Civil War, she's indicated that she wishes for Ashukal to take a more active role in ensuring internal peace and stability.

Regardless, with such a large persona as Aljubeli stepping down from office, whoever replaces him will have some shoes to fill. It's likely that voters will need to take a long and hard think over which direction Ashukal would need to take in the future.

Military government established, Constitution suspended

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – The South Baggnagian Protection Army has gotten around to establishing a military government since peacefully taking power from the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia on Friday. Military officers stated that “a council” would be created to fulfill parliamentary functions and possibly even cabinet functions. To achieve this, the current Constitution of the Democratic Republic of South Baggnagia would have to be suspended. That is what the military government declared would be happening. The civil code would still work but the structure of the government and the state itself would not no longer apply as it was written in the suspended constitution. It is possible that a referendum for a new constitution would happen in the future but the military government doesn’t confirm nor deny anything. It is clear that the regime change puts on hold or even cancels the National Plebiscite that was declared by the Congress of National Sovereignty. But that was a demand placed towards the previous government structure that has now left power so it’s no longer necessary to happen. Since the factual coup on Friday the South Baggnagian Protection Army has been patrolling the streets and keeping public order to prevent civil unrest. The new military government has not declared a state of emergency or martial law but it looks like somewhat similar rules to that kind of state of things presently applies. The military is watching over public order right now and has been doing so since Thursday night technically. It is not clear how much longer this would last but updates on public rules are expected.

Sylva Čérny and Karel Čérny go into self-exile by fleeing abroad

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – The family that has a history of leadership of the Socialist Bloc (SB) has been reported to have left South Baggnagia. The current SB party leader Sylva Čérny and her father Karel Čérny, the previous SB party long-time leader and founder, have left South Baggnagia. At first their departure was rumored, later party colleagues reported it and today Sylva Čérny confirmed. Čérny said that she and her father Karel Čérny have left South Baggnagia for an undisclosed foreign nation. Čérny’s claim is that this choice was made because of concern for personal security. Sylva Čérny fears for her own and her father’s security because she was the rising opposition figure in the nation and led the pro-democracy protests. The military takeover of power in South Baggnagia has made Čérny concerned of being detained by the military government. That is why the Čérny daughter–father duo have gone into self-exile as they described it. It is unclear if both would continue their opposition political activity from outside South Baggnagia and if they would even reveal the location of exile to their followers. This secrecy and unilateral action has cast a shadow on the reputation of the Čérny family and their initial motives when the protests were led against the previous leadership.

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr Phones Commanding Officers Of South Baggnagia’s New Military Government

The Sâlúbĕr administration has reached out to the newly-established military government of South Baggnagia, which came to power several days ago. This is the first contact since the military government came to power in South Baggnagia, even though the Sunrisian side has conversed with those specific military officers in the past through various channels and various officials of its’ own, whether diplomats or military officials. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has made a request for phone conversations with the highest-ranking military officials that would lead the new regime in South Baggnagia, after which the Department of International Relations and also General Emér Pârsīná, the Commander of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB), had made the President’s request known.

The administration has stated that President Sâlúbĕr has a lot to discuss with the new military government, but the basic message is that Sunrisia would uphold its’ military alliance with South Baggnagia as long as the new military government would not become a “traditional junta.” In other words, the President would advise that the military government of South Baggnagia refrain from becoming a human rights-abusing, oppressive military dictatorship, otherwise that would complicate South Baggnagian and Sunrisian key strategic relations, as well as make South Baggnagia almost on par with North Baggnagia. The administration stated that President Sâlúbĕr believes in the military government’s potential to do more good for South Baggnagia than some other political forces had already unsuccessfully tried or could have tried if they had come to power.

At the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia, lawmakers from opposition parties, from parties within the governing coalition together with the President’s own Centro-Unionist party, as well as some fellow Centro-Unionist party members, have been critical of this exchange with South Baggnagia’s new military government as a gesture of apparent support. According to these critics, Sunrisian values and principals are being undermined through this cooperative attitude towards the South Baggnagian new military regime. With the administration’s attitude, some skeptics have raised a question on whether the Prime Intelligence Division (PID) and other intelligence agencies of Sunrisia had anything to do with the South Baggnagian coup and the military takeover in the country. However, the Sâlúbĕr administration claims it is “way ahead” of all the opponents, skeptics and critics, and will voice the Sunrisian concerns in support of human rights’ preservation in South Baggnagia.

Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek Travels Through West Zilveren Berg To Oversee Reconstruction

Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek of the State of West Zilveren Berg has embarked on a tour-like travelling across our young country to oversee post-war reconstruction and infrastructural development. The Chief Secretary, as the head of government, wants and feels a responsibility to personally observe and oversee how West Zilveren progress has been coming along with the combined effort of foreign peacekeepers and locals, while having the backing from the state. Chief Secretary Van Hoebeek says it is important to have new infrastructure blossom, but also to secure the old Zilveren infrastructure that has survived from the war. In fact, there have been initiatives pushed forward to renovate or recreate the destroyed old architecture for visual pleasance and as a tribute to cultural heritage, even if authenticity will no longer be there. The head of government will collect personal notes and actually put forth propositions to the government of what else needs to be done. There will also be meetings with local communities, where people themselves will let the Chief Secretary know what needs to be done.

Some opposition politicians and members of other political parties have cynically proposed that Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek is collecting points for his own personal and his party’s approval rating. They see this tour as an early political campaign for the Chief Secretary’s party in future elections. The governing coalition, which includes the Chief Secretary’s party together with other parties, may benefit from this “campaign” as well, according to the opposition. However, Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek has been left with no other response to these theories, other than denying them as having any relation to reality.

“Blazing Hail” Military Exercise Successfully Concludes On The 9th Day

The MDAA military exercise – “Blazing Hail”, successfully concludes on the 9th day of duration. The original plan was to have the drill take place about the same duration as the 3 predecessor exercises, which would have brought it up to a month, more than a month, or slightly less than a month. However, given the “nuclear nature” of “Blazing Hail”, which made it differ from the past 3 exercises and stand out of all 4 exercises when summarizing them, it was deemed risky and even unnecessary to keep it going as long. It was planned to keep “Blazing Hail” for a week or maybe 8 days, however, it has ultimately concluded on the 9th day of duration.

“Blazing Hail” was the 4th and final military exercise among several allied countries. It was mapped out by Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér and proposed by the Sunrisian side. The first of the series of exercises – “Fire Wall” saw the participation of Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia. Although all 4 countries are full member states of MDAA, the drill was not technically hailed as an “MDAA exercise” and not held under the alliance’s banner. It was simply treated as a military exercise among these 4 allied countries, who all happen to be MDAA member states. However, it was decided that “Fire Wall” still falls in line with the following 3 drills, because of the short breaks between them all and because the planning process for all 4 took place almost simultaneously. “Fire Wall” lasted 32 days.

The second drill and the first one that was held under the MDAA banner, were the MDAA joint naval drills in northwestern Corentia, southwestern Dogmana and international waters south of Corentia. They again saw the participation of Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia, and this time, as it was just mentioned, it was hailed as an MDAA alliance exercise. These naval drills lasted for 43 days, making them the longest single drill out of 4.

To follow the naval drills was – “Flail 10–11”, with the title being given because of its outlined duration from October, which is the 10th month of the year, to November, which is the 11th month. This was also treated as an MDAA alliance exercise and saw Creperia, Edereon, The Seven United (Damsmar) and Sunrisia being joined by Daredland, an associate state, or as some call it associate member, of MDAA, as well as aspiring to eventually becoming a full member. This was the first time Daredland ever participated in MDAA drill. “Flail 10–11” lasted 28 days.

The fourth and final exercise was – “Blazing Hail”, which has successfully concluded today on the 9th day. This drill saw a 6th participant joining and that was New Vesvai, which has become the first non-Corentian participant of the drills, as the country is technically situated on an island in the Dogmanan region. “Blazing Hail” simulated a DEFCON 1/Nuclear War scenario and coincided with the ACIS alliance’s Operation "Scherenschnabel", translated as Operation “Skimmer”, as well as “Operation Grison”, a drill between Englean forces and the separatist militia of the self-proclaimed Weniges Reich in eastern Daredland. The latter also simulated a DEFCON 1/Nuclear War scenario, which has intensified the atmosphere on the continent as 2 “rival exercises” of nuclear nature coincided and indirectly clashed. “Blazing Hail” was an exercise that simulated a defensive and even offensive, in case of an attack by an armed aggressor, nuclear war. Potential adversaries included Dogmanan countries, Eastern Corentian countries, Ispanza, Ophionite countries, North Baggnagia and nearby countries allied to other power blocs that could be potential rivals. For the duration of “Blazing Hail”, actual Sunrisian nuclear forces were put on alert.

Vesvai Experiences Internet Outages, New Vesvai Suspected Of Causing Them

The Dominion of Vesvai is struggling with internet outages today. Private users around the nation have been calling their providers and complaining about having no access to the web. At first these were believed to be local outages and domestic problems of internet provider companies. But those suspicions started decreasing when outages started to be reported around the nation. It was unlikely that different parts of the Dominion would face the same exact issue at the same time as a mare coincidence. The problem later leaked over from regular private internet user to the public sphere. Wi-Fi spots around the nation became unavailable for use. Even government departments and the military said they have lost access to the web.

Currently the government and internet providers are looking for back-up measures and how to switch to back-up access to the web until regular internet access is back. Vesvai’s Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal complained about his personal loss of internet access just like the rest of the nation’s user. The PM’s press representatives say that the head of government has sat down with officers of Vesvai’s National Intelligence Agency. PM Mollisal was told that there is reason to suspect New Vesvai as the perpetrator of the attack. The second immediate suspect is Sunrisia but New Vesvai takes the front. PM Mollisal has called for a meeting with Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit and military officials. This is believed to be a hazard that needs a discussion on the level of a national security meeting.

The Dominion of Vesvai has faced cyber-attacks from New Vesvai before. Minister Praesedit has already commented that New Vesvai may be training to commence future cyber-attacks on the Dominion of Vesvai. He thinks this could put national security and safety of elections from foreign interference at risk.

Alternate Liberal Manifesto Launch / Key points to take away from the manifesto / DUP gains a further four Communist defectors as party gears up for their own manifesto launch

In Damsmar today, Alternate Liberal party leader Manuel-Caruso Lopez launched their official Unitary manifesto, the party's proposed programme of government should they be elected to the Unitary Commission. Speaking to the conference containing hundreds of Alternate Liberal members, Lopez deemed the manifesto a "change in direction for the Alternate Liberal party". Speaking after officially launching the manifesto, Lopez also condemned the "disunity" running through the Damsmarian political stage.

"What we have here as a manifesto is a change in direction for the Alternate Liberal party. A continuation of the change in direction of our nation as we continue to open Damsmar to the world, open our nation from within and strive to unify and better our people. This change is marked at the heart of our manifesto with three principles, unity, stability and economic justice. These are the foundations of our campaign, to help one will benefit the others. Let’s make it clear, a vote for the Alternate Liberals is a vote for unity in a country that is becoming alarmingly fractured. It is a vote for stability in a country facing serious threat from just next door. It is also a vote for economic justice in a country facing increasing disparity. As with all other incoming Liberal administrations we are faced with a host of problems, but together we can do what every outgoing Liberal commission has done - and we can have them solved. Severe criticim was launched at the party leadership for many of the policies within, which have vexed particularly some fervent liberal unionist MUPs. A key policy is for the new liberal administration to commence a new set of Montedoran regional elections, with the Unitary Commission then beginning negotiations with the new incoming regional administration in Podzia. From here Lopez engages in what appears to be constructive ambiguity, suggesting that if the new regional administration is a United Nationalist one Lopez could offer concessions. Deputy leader of the Montedoran Alternate Liberals Miguel Cortes MUP says that the manifesto policy on Montedoran "was the very antithesis of an attempt to protect the union." Further suggesting that should the policy not change "We would have to diverge." Furthermore, criticism came from 5 defectors whom have now left the party protesting the lack of environmental action pledged within the manifesto. Daniel Imbernez Corriera the new leader of the Liberal Green Party stated that he believed ‘the lack of interest in the climate and environmental crisis, along with a new manifesto that works to protect corporate interests in our biosphere, were almost criminal.’ Also stating that the new Liberal Greens will be contesting elections in liberal seats around the western Bailor region. Lopez condemned the split, saying it only worked to the Communist advantage.

Other policies were notable within the manifesto. While largely similar to that of Christina Andersons there are fundamental surprise additions. Of one of these is the end of fiscal austerity and the gradual tying of Unitary budgets to the value of the Argent acknowledging that "cuts along with devaluation of the currency have left Commissions cash strapped." Lopez called this one of Anderson's 'mistakes' as Commissioner, with the following and current austerity being the worst in the history of The Seven United. Furthermore, within the manifesto is the pledge to stop the cut of the flat Unitary corporation tax rate from 27% to 24%, instead leaving it at 27% for the full term. Using this money, the party pledges to increase spending on infrastructure renewal throughout Damsmar, with $A 450m promised to be invested immediately. Lopez continues Anderson's legacy of supporting globalisation and the liberalisation of the Damsmarian economy, stating that this is the only way forward in the 21st century.

On peace and stability, the party pledges to continue its current policy on fighting cartel and paramilitary violence, but modified the existing policy of negotiation with certain paramilitaries. Under a new liberal administration, there would be 'no negotiation with terrorists.' Among the policies scrapped is the unitary rehabilitative justice programme, the funding of which ($A 87m annually) would be redirected to modernising existing penitentiaries. The unitary rehabilitative justice programme was target of many allegations of corruption and mismanagement of public money, its demise was likely sealed before this manifesto launch. Additionally, there will be the implementation of a $A 100m immediate investment fund for areas challenged by the conflict in western Daredland, notably south and east Caledonia. This fund will be aimed at recuperating economic loss due to the friction of a hard land border with the Weniges Reich.

On welfare the party continues its policy as it was in the previous unitary election, it will remain a largely devolved matter with Unitary budgets being allocated based off need and not ambition of the regional administration in question. While austerity was promised to end, Lopez didn’t go as far as to say to what extent health and welfare budgets would be repaired.
From these points onwards, differences become increasingly small and more numbers orientated. The DESUZ programme (targeted Unitary investment to disadvantaged areas) which was due to commence in October 2019 would begin within the first 30 days of a new liberal commission, and the money allocated ($A 190m) would be increased to $A 290m annually, with the money coming from the ‘halt in the corporation tax cut’.

Foreign policy remains much the same, Lopez reaffirmed his commitment to the MDAA and partnerships with the Ventismarian Union and other nations from Dogmana. Lopez also committed to finding a political solution to the Daredi impasse. Interstate relations also remains the same, with Lopez continuing to commit to high autonomy for the states of the Seven.

While Lopez is a different politician to that of Anderson, they both follow the same political and economic ideology. Copy and pasting the previous manifesto and adding only minor additions could prove to be a hindrance to the Liberal election campaign, even though the party has saved considerable time by taking this route. Unfortunately for Lopez, the perfect storm in the last election is no longer present and if the polls are to be believed, this could remain an uphill struggle for Lopez and his party. One notable difference between this election and the last is the surge in party disunity, with an increasing amount of splits. One thing that used to be a key trait of Damsmarian politics was the unwavering party unity particularly within the Liberals and (formerly Democratic Party) Communists. Should this continue to falter, it sets an increasingly interesting electoral scene.

Criticism of the manifesto from rival parties came pouring in almost instantaneously Communist leader Luis Manuel Osóro claimed that the manifesto "represented the same failed neoliberal project that Anderson attempted". Further commenting "it is more of the same, offering no real change and no real substance. They will continue to sell Damsmar out." Responding to Communist criticism, the new Alternate Liberal deputy party leader Ana Lagard stated "there is no room in the 21st century for dangerous Marxists".

UNP leader Ablija Hejkovic quickly condemned the new policy for handling the political impasse and turmoil within Montedoran. The party released a statement saying that the UNP Montedoran regional commission would not begin negotiations with an incoming Liberal unitary government again – and would only consider doing so if they promised a second independence referendum with USA oversight. UNP Caledonia also critiqued the new investment fund for south and eastern Caledonia, stating that the money was simply not enough and was allocated for too long a time period for it to be considered useful.

In other political news, the Damsmarian Unionist Party (DUP) welcomed four more MUPs to join their party as they defect from the Communists. Luisa Jimenez Peña, Mario Rosano, Emmanuel Charbonneau and Diego Cortège, all MUPs from south west Bailor and Aygon region. While defecting quietly, many believe their reasons for leaving was due to disagreements with the upcoming Communist manifesto, boiling over to disagreements with the new leadership of the party. DUP leader Felipe Peña Ines stated the party will release their own policy programme on the 24th of this month.

New Vesvai Denies Involvement In Vesvai’s Internet Outages

Yesterday the Dominion of Vesvai experienced internet outages. It started out as multiple reports by private users around the nation and their complaints to internet provider companies. That already raised suspicion as to how private users in different parts of the Dominion could face the same problem at the same time. Such a coincidence was not believed to be realistic. Later government officials and the military itself complained about internet outages. Vesvai’s Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal He said that his intelligence officers have reason to believe that New Vesvai was behind the internet outage. Sunrisia was described as a second suspect. Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit said that this was a cyber-attack where New Vesvai was preparing to undermine the Dominion’s defense capabilities and possible hack Vesvai’s future elections (that is if the Dominion actually had free elections).

New Vesvai and the Dominion of Vesvai suffered from cyber-attacks before and exchanged accusations against each other for them. This time the Dominion is throwing a second accusation against New Vesvai for a cyber-attack and again claims to have solid proof that New Vesvai was responsible. New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Adi Letago is still abroad but he was asked to respond at a press conference. PM Letago swore there was no point for New Vesvai to attack the Dominion because all New Vesvai wants is to be left alone by the Dominion as a separate independent nation. Head Of The Intelligence Directorate Kaleo Aitebi supported PM’s claim. Aitebi said that this was another false flag attack or a regular exaggerated internet outage that the Dominion wants to pin on New Vesvai. Accusing New Vesvai for being aggressive towards the Dominion and responsible for its problems helps the Dominion’s propaganda to further demonize New Vesvai. It also helps keep up the notion in Vesvaian minds that New Vesvai is by a definition a threat to the Dominion in every way possible. That is why the argument is that New Vesvai must eventually be dealt with. This is Aitebi’s personal interpretation but he says that there’s no other way to look at it right now.

Youth organizations organize another forum between rival groups in Daredland

Youth organizations in the Daredi Confederation have once again come together to hold a political discussion forum among the nation’s rival political groups. This would be a third such forum held since the initiative was originally launched after the Flaming Revolution. The purpose of the forum is to have Daredland rival political groups find common ground and put Daredland ahead of their ideological beliefs. The first forum was held to have organizations of pro-Western Corentian and pan-Germanist views talk to each other and stop demonizing each other. Groups representing pro-Western Corentian and pan-Germanist views have always been seen as those tearing Daredland in half by either being completely for MDAA/SOWEFTA or Englean influence in Daredland. No middle ground. This was especially seen as dangerous after Daredland was still facing intense problems with pressures from Eastern Corentia and problems with the self-declared Weniges Reich and the Hasperan Republic. The nation was literally falling apart and further tensions inside Daredland itself would have only made the situation more dangerous. The original forum was held as a necessary and vital political discussion forum. At firm it was believed to be a one-time thing at an important period. But since then the youth forum has been held annually to ease tensions between different views in Daredland and promote political and ideological inclusiveness. This would be a third such forum held.

The youth organizations holding the inter-Daredi forum are making sure not to base it entirely in Freihat the capital. The forum is travelling across the Daredi Confederation. Along with Freihat there are also Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt, Aquildorf and other major cities across the Confederation to serve as attraction centers towards the forum. Organizers admit that it is easier to organize the forum in these larger cities but their are trying to spread to smaller cities in the province to the extent of their capabilities. Several organizations responsible for holding the forum have been criticized themselves for having a political bias. Representatives of these organizations have admitted having a political bias but they saw it as something impossible not to have as actual living, breathing, thinking human beings. While the criticism has been recognized as somewhat logical these organizations have assured that they are withholding their bias to the maximum level. They claim to understand that in order for the forum to work the organizing forces themselves must remain cold and neutral to be successful and trustworthy mediators. Originally it was difficult for them to withhold their bias in the very first forum because it happened so soon after the Flaming Revolution. The emotions were still fresh and alive despite the best intentions by the organizers to remain on the side. The youth organizations claim to have since learned to better themselves in remaining neutral over the course of the first two forums. They put their goal of placing Daredland ahead of political bias first and foremost. This message is also something that is being projected towards the participants of the forum too.

The third forum will begin tomorrow, Friday, November 22. It will open in Freihat, Geralden, Exor, Vasiti, Aurburg, Chryszig, Lern, Palendo, Moygon, Svematt, Eleut, New Schwarzburg, Liceli, St. Markfurt, Aquildorf and other major cities and several other cities at the same time. Even though youth organizations are holding it citizens of all age groups are encouraged to attend and speak their mind if they have something to say.
