Sunrisian Naval Forces Intervene On Behalf Of New Vesvai, Fighting Off The Warships Of The Dominion Of Vesvai

Commander-in-chief President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has announced that the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) has been ordered to intervene on behalf of New Vesvai into the armed conflict with the Dominion of Vesvai. The order for Sunrisia to military intervene in defense of New Vesvai has been made in accordance with the Mutual Defense Treaty (Sunrisia–New Vesvai). President Sâlúbĕr announced the decision of military intervention on behalf of New Vesvai following the National Defense Council meeting, which the President had called up in an emergency matter, specifically focused on the inter-Vesvai armed conflict. The President appealed to the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia to support military action that would act in defense of New Vesvai.

Sunrisian Naval Forces had moved towards the island of Vesvai yesterday, prior to the National Defense Council gathering. These were early preparations and taking battle positions, awaiting the President’s decision and Convet’s approval of that decision, following the National Defense Council on the inter-Vesvai armed conflict. The Sunrisian Naval Forces, maneuvering near the island of Vesvai, have deployed a fleet into the territorial waters of New Vesvai after the Sâlúbĕr administration asked clearance from the transitional government of New Vesvai. Afterwards, the Sunrisian Naval Forces joined the New Vesvaian Navy in fighting the Vesvaian Navy. Sunrisian Naval Forces launched a major offensive against all ships of the Dominion of Vesvai that were in the territorial waters of New Vesvai. The current objective on the naval front is to force all ships of the Dominion of Vesvai out of the territorial waters of New Vesvai and then taking defensive positions to prohibit any more of invader ships from accessing the territorial waters of New Vesvai.

Concurrently with the inter-Vesvai armed conflict and Sunrisian intervention, there are MDAA naval drills happening nearby in southwestern Dogmana, which are set to end on October 1st. However, none of Sunrisian warships participating in those drills will join the current military operation. The Sunrisian Naval Forces have sent and will be sending only new warships. The Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) confirmed that the current orders on the maritime front are only to push the forces of the Dominion of Vesvai out of the territory of New Vesvai and then making sure that no new forces invade, with readiness to fire upon them as soon as they decide to cross the maritime boundary.

On other fronts of this armed conflict, the Sunrisian Air Force is also moving towards New Vesvai and so is the Sunrisian Army. These 2 components of the military have the same objective as the Sunrisian Naval Forces on the maritime front. That objective is to fight off, push out and then block any new forces of the Dominion of Vesvai from crossing over into New Vesvai.

Back in the national capital Orentan, Minister of International Relations Edén Sȏlítûdá and Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér echoed the statement made yesterday by National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên before the decisive National Defense Council meeting. The official position of the Sâlúbĕr administration is that Sunrisia supports a cease-fire, but will militarily stand by its’ ally New Vesvai until that happens.

P.O.D. to Mobilize Fleet Near Vesvia, Claims in Preparation for Future Humanitarian Aid Efforts. Calls on Smoya to do Same.

In a bizarre twist of The Unitary Stratocratic Ochlocracy's isolationistic and more reactionary tendencies, General Ads has ordered the deployment of the Provincial Ochlocracy of Denmytire Navy (P.O.D.N.) to the area to prepare for the unified nation's potentially first non-ally humanitarian aid effort. Preparing to offer aid to non-ally foreign citizens, for the first time in The Dictatorship's history has received no small amount of apparent backlash from some more traditionalist members of the B.I.C.R. and General Staff, who claimed that the Commander In Chief must first receive approval from the General Staff, though it was determined by the I.C.C. that the Commander In Chief only requires approval when declaring a war of aggression. The Inter-Community Court did continue in stating that General Ads would not have the authority to deploy aid if denied by the government of the people to receive aid, though were The Dictatorship engaged in the conflict directly, aid could be deployed without any foreign body's approval or acceptance. General Ads did respond by stating he could see no reason why any government, caring for their people, would deny their people free humanitarian aid, regardless of the politics of the nation providing. General Ads went on to say, "giving aid to the innocent in need should go beyond any politics, and any government that would interfere with an offering of aid shows themselves to be inconsiderate of those innocents in need. Any government that puts politics over the needs of their people is not fit to be over the flea on a dog's back, much less anything else."

The Commander In Chief also called on the nation's ally, and the resident regional power, The United Democratic Republic of Smoya, to also prepare to provide aid to the Vesvian citizenry in conflict heavy areas following the conflict that is "certain to escalate over time." While The Dictatorship would not be obligated to engage in the conflict, unless one of its allies was to come under attack, the General Staff did clarify that it would grant its approval to engage in the conflict directly if an ally nation put boots on the ground.

When asked to explain why he made no reference to the citizens of New Vesvia, General Ads stated that there were only Vesvians under two governments; "there are no New Vesvians, only Vesvians. Vesvians under the government of New Vesvia and Vesvians under the Dominion of Vesvia. They are both equally Vesvians, much as there are only Baggnagians under the two governments of North and South Baggnagia."

Comrade Sugmei was assassinated during internal strife in the Bohin. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich went to pay his respects to Comrade Sugmei at the building which would have become the Embassy of the Bohin in North Baggnagia. A portrait of Comrade Sugmei was put in front of the building and the flags of North Baggnagia and the Bohin were placed next to the portrait. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich respectfully stood in front of the portrait with a serious expression and bowed his head in respect. There was a whole minute of silence in this pose: 60 seconds. The Great Leader showed his respect and humbleness for North Baggnagian allies. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich then proceeded to speak with the press that was present at this event.

The thoughts of North Baggnagians are with the Bohi people today. I condemn to hell the traitors who have allowed Comrade Abdu Sugmei to be taken away from this world before his time. Those that assassinated Comrade Sugmei and those who failed to protect him are equally responsible.

Comrade Abdu Sugmei was scheduled to visit North Baggnagia to establish diplomatic, economic and military relations. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich was ready for such a visit to the Friendly Nation of the Bohin too. The Rezuan Empire opposed the North Baggnagian alliance with the Bohin but His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich saw this as a mistake.

I think the Rezuan Empire is mistaken in being against the friendship between North Baggnagian and Bohi people. The Bohin has achieved a lot under the leadership of Comrade Abdu Sugmei. Army Opens Intense Missile Fire On New Vesvai’s Positions

The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces are firing a wave of missiles at the positions of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army. The missiles are not ballistic or nuclear but missiles used to destroy targets on land. Their power can pierce through armor which makes none of New Vesvai’s tanks or armored vehicles invulnerable to. There is no necessity to mention actual flesh and blood troops and how they would fend against such weaponry. New Vesvai’s side of the border is looking like a light show with one explosion brightly sparking after another as each missile hits.

Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta, Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal, Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit and Vesvai’s MPs have raised alarm over Sunrisian intervention into the conflict. It was expected because of New Vesvai basically being a Sunrisian protectorate. But when it actually happened it’s still difficult to comprehend in reality. Sunrisia’s and New Vesvai’s warships are now attacking the warships of the Royal Navy ruthlessly. They are justifying this as supposed defense against Vesvai’s aggression. Sunrisian intervention and shift of balance in New Vesvai’s favor now makes the Dominion of Vesvai await the help of Rhodevus first and foremost.

PM Jonathan Mollisal said that if the conflict keeps growing the Dominion of Vesvai is ready to ask for ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth to help:

New Vesvai’s Military Launches Cyber-Attacks Against The Military Of The Dominion Of Vesvai

The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has opened a new front in the conflict with the Dominion of Vesvai. The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces keep using firepower to cause physical destruction of New Vesvai’s forces and of New Vesvai’s land. VRA has decided to attempt a different kind of counter-attack which might be less destructive and more effective. VRA has launched a cyber-attack against the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces. At best the cyber-attack seeks to paralyze the Dominion’s ability to fight. But if that ideal option does not help then the cyber-attack is at least expected to undermine the capabilities of RVSF. The cyber-attack is strictly aimed at the military infrastructure of the Dominion of Vesvai and civilian infrastructure will not be harmed. The first cyber-attack has been launched and more are planned to follow soon.

In the meantime New Vesvai has welcomed the arrival of Sunrisia to its aid. New Vesvai’s Head Administrator Andre Tilicome, Acting Prime Minister Raio Foranel, and leader of New Vesvai’s Silver Revolution and the National Renewal (NR) party Adi Letago, have thanked Sunrisia for following defense treaty obligations. Right now Sunrisian warships are helping the Revolutionary Navy fight off the invading Royal Navy. Acting Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army announced that the air force and army of Sunrisia are welcome to New Vesvai to help reinforce the fight on other fronts at this conflict. Right now VRA troops are taking a big hit on the land front from RVSF’s missile fire.

Rhodevus Supports Vesvai

With word of active Sunrisia involvement in Vesvai, the Rhodeve Fourth Naval Division has been given orders to move from the Rhodeve Naval Base in Aznazia to defend its ally. As an ally, Commonwealth member and ROVAA member, Rhodevus is thrice obligated to help defend its ally of Vesvai. As reported yesterday, based on information given by the federal government, Rhodevus was to remain nearby but uninvolved in the Vesvai-New Vesvai situation until such a time that Sunrisia became militarily involved.

“The inter-Vesvai Conflict is everything but a war at this point,” said General Timmel in a press statement. “War may not have been declared, but with increased tensions between both governments and attacks by both sides, this is a war in all but name.”

The Rhodeve fleet entered into Vesvaian waters and have been directed to repel any attempts by the New Vesvai Navy to break through into Vesvai’s maritime borders. Explicit instruction has been given that no Sunrisian ships are to be fired upon at any time, unless being attacked by Sunrisian ships first.

“Our goal is the security and safety of our allies. Rhodevus has no qualms with Sunrisia nor its government and have actively sought their assistance in establishing diplomacy and political discourse between Vesvai and New Vesvai. But, Rhodevus will not roll over if its ships are attacked. Nor if its allies are attacked,” said General Timmel

Rhodevus has stated that it will abide by the most modern version of the Imperial Formations Treaty when interacting with New Vesvai and its ally, Sunrisia.

The Rhodeve army and air force have not been authorized to involve themselves in the inter-Vesvai Conflict, but the option remains on the table. Similarly, were the government of Vesvai to request it, the Commonwealth Army can join in on the defense of Vesvai.

Sunrisian Air Force And Sunrisian Naval Forces Strike Land Targets In The Dominion Of Vesvai, Without Crossing The Border

Minister of Security Vírân Spêctér has announced that the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) had begun active reinforcement of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army not only on the maritime, but also land and aerial fronts, as was planned with the deployment of the Sunrisian Army and the Sunrisian Air Force to New Vesvai. These were follow-up deployments after the Sunrisian Naval Forces entered the territorial waters of New Vesvai and entered the conflict in support of the Revolutionary Navy of New Vesvai. That naval battle is ongoing.

We have now been receiving news from the frontline, specifically the land and aerial theater. The Sunrisian Air Force launched airstrikes against the land forces of the Dominion of Vesvai that have been recklessly firing a shower of missiles in the direction of New Vesvai and have also been advancing towards the border between the countries. The media of New Vesvai and the country’s military sources reported consistent border violations from the side of the Dominion of Vesvai. The Sunrisian Air Force launched airstrikes on the forces of New Vesvai that were firing missiles, while also targeting the missile batteries themselves along with other military equipment, as well as tanks and armored vehicles of the armed forces of Vesvai.

The Sunrisian Naval Forces have helped out in the effort of the Sunrisian Air Force as well. Vesvai’s Military Retaliates With Its Own Cyber-Attacks Against New Vesvai’s Military

The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces have taken appropriate measures against the cyber-attacks by the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army. RVSF has called it a “mirror response.” RVSF has launched the same type of cyber-attacks against the military infrastructure of New Vesvai that VRA did against the Dominion of Vesvai. RVSF is seeking to retaliate and cause the same effect against the opponent’s military capabilities and maybe even a greater negative effect. Since New Vesvai retained the morality not to attack civilian-used infrastructure RVSF has not and will not strike the civilian-used infrastructure in New Vesvai. Only military infrastructure is to be attacked. RVSF’s objective is to undermine New Vesvai’s capability of waging war. That is pretty much the same objective that VRA declared in its attack on the Dominion of Vesvai.

RVSF admits that it has taken a big hit from New Vesvai’s early cyber-attacks and more followed in that same day as the enemy promised. The Dominion’s capabilities to fight were greatly undermined and the nation was left for grabs to New Vesvai and Sunrisia. Luckily allies in the face of Commonwealth and ROVAA ally Rhodevus and Commonwealth ally Layfetian Republic arrived to prop up the Dominion of Vesvai at that hard moment. RVSF said it had an opportunity to take a breather although Sunrisia still unfortunately managed to attack RVSF positions with airstrikes and cruise missiles. That delivered a major hit and left the border almost defenseless for some time. Reinforcements were immediately rushed back to the frontline. Having already launched cyber-attacks with the goal of undercutting New Vesvai’s military power RVSF promised that more would follow. If New Vesvai’s military capabilities are undercut enough by the cyber-attacks then it should not be a difficult opponent anymore for the Dominion of Vesvai to take on with the help of Rhodevus and the Commonwealth. At that point Sunrisia will pretty much be left as the final threat.

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal has thanked Rhodevus and the Layfetian Republic for restoring faith to Vesvai’s people. For some time doubts began to arise if the defense clauses of the Rhodeve Commonwealth or ROVAA were still active but that doubt is now disappearing. The Prime Minister is planning to write a letter of gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Diana Wolff who is not only the Queen of the United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus but also the Queen of certain Commonwealth nations and realms. The Dominion of Vesvai is among those nations and Her Majesty Queen Diana Wolff is also the Monarch of Vesvai. A separate letter of gratitude will also be written to the Layfetian leadership. It will not only include Vesvai’s gratitude but also congratulations to the Layfetian Republic as the most recent member to join the Rhodeve Commonwealth. Vesvai never formally congratulated the Layfetian Republic on that occasion but now will be the chance. PM Jonathan Mollisal understands Layfetian Republic’s leanings more towards a humanitarian military mission. But there’s hope that as a Commonwealth ally the Layfetian Republic will stand with Vesvai and Rhodevus in defense of what is Commonwealth ground, said the Prime Minister. PM Mollisal does not know what approach to take towards POD’s role in this crisis because The Dictatorship seems to be playing the role of a neutral humanitarian to both Vesvais. While understanding this on some level PM Mollisal is not enthusiastic about The Dictatorship equally helping Vesvai and its opponent.

King Jacob Condemns Sunrisia

King Jacob spoke to reporters from the Royal Palace in a rare public appearance, as he broke away from the inner turmoil of the power struggle between himself and the Lylhorion Parliament. The occasion was not to announce any sort of rest from the bickering, or any sort of resolution. In fact, it was entirely unrelated to the all consuming topic that’s dominated Lylhorion headlines for months. Today, he addressed Reporters about what he fears will lead to a war the Ike’s of which hasn’t been seen in decades.

“I am greatly alarmed at the Sunrisian aggression displayed in today’s attack on the Dominion of Vesvai. Regardless of their support for either side in this ongoing and dangerous conflict, Sunrisian imperialistic intervention will only serve to worsen an already downward spiraling situation. The Vesvai Crisis, as my advisors have come to call it, is much more than a simple, small island struggle. It’s a growing division that threatens wider conflict. These types of situations require a steady hand, one that knows when to strike and when to shake. Sunrisia cannot take back the actions that may have begun a new saga in this crisis, but they can make amends and they can commit to pursuing a more peaceful resolution.

“They have embarked on a military conquest, in the name of defense. A conquest we have seen them embark on time and time again, in Baggnagia, in Zilverenberg. In the name of stability, in the name of democracy, in the name of solidarity, they expand their military grasp ever outward as they vie for power and domination without losing the perception of a hero. To Sunrisian leaders I caution you, Lylhorion does not view you as a hero, as a champion of democracy. We have, in this day and in days past, viewed you as an aggressor, as a nation set on its own agenda and with the cunning to use other nations needs to obtain that agenda. We will not stand idly by and allow you to trample through a Commonwealth member, and we will not watch as your continue your aggressive expanse of your own brand of freedom. In one voice, United, Lylhorion rejects your military aggression, and we condemn you for it.”

When asked by Reporters if the Lylhorion Navy would take action, the King gave a chilling response.

“The armed forces will fully support its commitments to the Rhodeve Commonwealth, and we will stand by our Commonwealth allies in opposing this aggressive posture. Naval forces are fully mobilized and ready to deploy, and our nation is fully ready to work side by side with our allies to preserve as much peace in Vesvai as we can. Foreign intervention in what should remain an internal matter is critical. We will dedicate every resource, and though we may be small, Lylhorion will show Sunrisia that a small Island can put up a venerable defense.”

New Vesvai Deploys Missile Batteries For Land Targets At The Frontline

The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army used an opening created by Sunrisian airstrikes and cruise missile strikes. The missile batteries that were used to shower in New Vesvai in missiles have been destroyed and the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army got a chance to maneuver. While the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces were sending new reinforcements VRA decided to fight fire with fire. VRA deployed its own missile batteries to the frontline for the attack of land targets. Virtually they are of the same type of as ones the Dominion used. The difference is that New Vesvai’s missile batteries for ground targets were supplied by Sunrisia and the Dominion of Vesvai probably got their from the Commonwealth. VRA chose to act differently than RVSF and has not yet started firing from these batteries. VRA would start showing the Dominion of Vesvai in missiles only after RVSF goes into counter-offensive. The Acting Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army promises that these missiles will cause the same light show in the Dominion of Vesvai like RVSF did for New Vesvai. Technically New Vesvai already had the right to retaliate and open fire but the VRA’s strategy remains that the missile batteries will only be used in the case of the Dominion’s counter-offensive.

Worse news have come from another front in this conflict. VRA says that the cyber-attacks by RVSF have delivered a large blow to New Vesvai’s military capabilities. VRA achieved doing the same with undermining RVSF’s strength but RVSF has successfully copied that strategy to hurt VRA. The troops are left to rely on whatever they have in the field while technological advances of warfare are unavailable. The Dominion of Vesvai promised more cyber-attacks so VRA is getting ready to defend against those however possible if at all possible. The paralysis from cyber-attacks was a partial cause why VRA rushed as many missile batteries as it could get its hand on at that moment. The main reason was an opening of the land front while RVSF had to regroup but becoming vulnerable from cyber-attacks was another reason. Right now VRA troops are shelling the positions of RVSF to stop the enemy advance in the direction of New Vesvai. Reinforcements are rushing rocket launchers and bazookas to the frontline to pierce through the armor of moving tanks of the Dominion of Vesvai.

Vesvai Deploys Land-Based And Anti-Air Missiles To Counter New Vesvai’s Attacks

The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces have deployed two types of missile batteries to the frontline. One type are the land-based missiles that were used to strike land-based enemy targets and shower New Vesvai in missiles. Sunrisia destroyed those missiles in its airstrike and cruise missile attack which is why RVSF is bringing in fresh missiles of the same character. The Dominion of Vesvai is rushing everything at its disposal to the frontline and the nation’s economy has been reoriented to work at “war time” speed. The Dominion of Vesvai is producing whatever it can while asking allies to supply more weapons as fast as possible. Vesvai’s government is asking for supplies to be at no cost and that Vesvai will pay back the debt after the current military crisis is over. To prevent Sunrisian jets or New Vesvai’s jets from launching new airstrikes that would hit reinforcement troops on land and newly deployed missiles RVSF has also deployed anti-air missile batteries. Anti-air missiles will be on the lookout for enemy warplanes, drones and more cruise missiles flying in from enemy warships.

Vesvai’s army is coming under intense shelling from New Vesvai’s attacks. RVSF’s tanks are trying to hold best defense but many of them have been incapacitated by bazookas and man-portable anti-tank missiles. There is a lot of reliance on the Royal Air Force to give back up against the oncoming enemy positions. RVSF troops on the ground have to balance taking cover and also using rocket launchers or bazookas to fight off enemy aerial forces. The Royal Air Force is also vulnerable to ground and aerial attacks in open skies so the army has to make sure to give the jets cover while the Royal Air Force cleans up the field from advancing enemy land forces. RVSF said that the army and air force have switched roles. Troops take on the enemy warplanes with rocket launchers and anti-air missiles while the Royal Air Force attacks the enemy army. Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit said that RVSF will hold a second light show on New Vesvai’s soil with the newly arrived land-based missiles and with the counter-offensive by the Royal Air Force. Praesedit denied rumors that RVSF plans to use napalm to bomb New Vesvai and called it “fake news.”

The federal government has finally released over 2,000 documents relating to the War of Flowers. The judge presiding over the court case had mandated their release last Sunday, in order to determine if the federal government broke anti-speech laws during the conflict which lasted from 1977 to 1979. Court sessions had been on hold for the last few days in order for the judges, lawyers and all associated staff and press involved in this suit to read the documents and form new statements and rebuttals on the matter.

The documents, which have been published to the government’s website, as well as handed over to the Kingstown National Library in their hard forms are available to the public to read. The Kingstown Daily has noted that the online version do still contain black-out marks over sections of the document, as do the hard copies. Inter-Vesvai Conflict

Rhodevus has announced that late last night, it has launched a series of retaliatory strikes against New Vesvai. Fighter jets taking off from the St. George Rhodeve Base in Vesvai were permitted to carry out a harrying mission along the Vesvai-New Vesvai border, striking at mobile missile platforms and parked tanks further into the country. The primary objective according to Rhodeve Command in charge of the Inter-Vesvai Conflict; the RCV, was to damage New Vesvai’s ability to wage an effective long-term campaign in the Dominion of Vesvai and prolong potential invasive movement along the front lines. The entire operation was done without crossing the border, mirroring a similar Sunrisian tactic from the previous day.

A secondary objective of note was the intentional targeting of stationary vehicles to damage offensive capabilities while risking the loss of as few people as possible. The RCV has been adamant since their entry into the conflict that the overall objective of Rhodeve military involvement was to bring about diplomatic negotiation and an eventual end to violence. “This cannot happen if both sides are calling for the blood of their enemies in retribution for earlier attacks.”

One plane was targeted by Sunrisian anti-aircraft fire and sustained heavy damage during the operation. The pilot has survived and was brought to a Vesvaian hospital for minor medical treatment.

The RCV has also commended Layfet and their national guard for helping in the conflict. The 250 soldiers were authorized to work alongside the Rhodeve Fourth Naval Division in their defense of the Dominion of Vesvai.

Republic Counter-Attacks, Communist Line Breaks

The Republic, in coordination with its VU allies, has counter attacked across the narrow frontline with the invading Communists. The attack, which involved Army, Navy, and Air Force units, began at 0700hrs this morning and carried on until the waning hours of the morning. By the end of the offensive, the communists were routed and the republic capitalized on its retreat to push the Communists back 25 kilometers and widen the frontline. Reportedly, the immense scale of the attack resulted in massive damage to the Communist forces, likely outright destroying many units in the field.

Republican Army commanders were reportedly happy with the progress made by Republican forces. "While pushing the Communist forces back 25 kilometers may seem far too small considering the amount of territory taken by the invaders, but this victory allows us the breathing room we need to perform more aggressive moves in the future." Said General Mikael Turbrusten. "We believe that this victory has proved that we can take the Communists in a head-on fight and win."

Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Launches Counter-Offensive In Defense Of Land Border

The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has launched a counter-offensive in defense of the border. Fresh military forces were mobilized and deployed as a new wave. VRA primarily sent human waves of troops to the border with moderate firepower at their disposal. This new mobilization and deployment of fresh forces happened after VRA took a massive hit and its previous positions were virtually destroyed by the airstrikes from Rhodeve Air Force. VRA reports that Rhodeve airstrikes destroyed VRA’s missile batteries and parked tanks at border zones. VRA troops also were coming under attack and needed to take cover from aerial attacks. There were failed attempts to counter-attack the Rhodeve jets. New Vesvai’s jets didn’t have much luck in that objective while the army only had very few openings to fire at Rhodeve warplanes from land. For the most part the troops were forced to take cover when coming under intense fire and only on rare moments they were able to fire rocket launchers or operate surviving anti-air guns against Rhodeve jets. But those efforts proved futile too. In the end some luck was still had when a Sunrisian anti-aircraft attack hit one Rhodeve jet. The Rhodeve pilot survived and was taken to a hospital in the Dominion of Vesvai to be treated for injuries. This was confirmed by Rhodeve media sources.

The Rhodeve Command handling the Rhodeve operations in this conflict confirmed that the airstrikes were retaliatory and that they were mirroring earlier Sunrisian air and cruise missile strikes against the Dominion of Vesvai. Those strikes have greatly help VRA in its progress against the enemy but the Rhodeve strikes have now done the same for the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces, confirms VRA. VRA also said that the missile batteries destroyed by Rhodeve strikes were those same missile batteries for land targets that were famously deployed yesterday. Similar types of batteries were used by RVSF earlier when New Vesvai was showered in missiles but RVSF’s batteries were destroyed in Sunrisian air and cruise missile strike. This gave VRA a breather. VRA deployed the same type but different caliber of missiles to the frontline to retaliate against RVSF. But unlike RVSF VRA was only going to be ready to use them and shower the Dominion of Vesvai in missiles in case of RVSF’s counter-offensive. The Rhodeve jets destroyed those missiles preemptively and witnesses from the frontline said that the destruction of missiles with airstrikes caused powerful and scorching explosions.

VRA was left vulnerable after these strikes while RVSF is locked and loaded. Today RVSF deployed a new round of those infamous missile batteries to fire at land and also added anti-air missile batteries to the equation. This is obviously to prevent New Vesvai’s or Sunrisian jets from striking those missile batteries so easily and openly. Currently VRA is rushing to the border with as much manpower as it can send with the exception of conscripts. The troops are also fighting with whatever they have. VRA says that a new mobilization is underway and that heavy artillery is being pulled up to the border while the army is buying time. The heavy artillery will include more tanks and once again more missile batteries for land and aerial targets. The Parliament is preparing to mirror the Dominion of Vesvai strategy by switching New Vesvai’s economy to “war time” speed to boost production of everything military. Sunrisia will also be asked to increase its supplies to restore power balance that at this moment has tipped in the Dominion’s favor.

Deadly Quake Rocks San Juadro

A magnitude 7.5 earthquake ripped through the high altitude town of San Juadro. The city of 150,000 is located only a few miles from the Izatepan mountain range. The government of Coapuca has listed over 200 fatalities and stated closer to 1500 are currently reported missing. These figures are likely scaled down. Estimates range from 1 to 5 billion NSD in damage. Homes of mud and brick were upturned along with the downtown district's five to ten story commercial buildings. Panic has ensnared the town and surrounding communities as local first responders are tasked beyond the maximum.

"We do not have enough people on the ground", said Capitan Ella Hernandez-Baez of the Fire Protection Service of San Juadro. "Investment has always been limited in our region. La Presidenta herself will need to sign funds immediately to prevent things from becoming even more grim."

Part of the worry also deals with looting. Local police have called almost every officer into duty. "There is pandemonium on the streets", said Sargento Hector Gomez. "At least twice, mobs have feinted looting in one corner of town only to draw us away from large scale burglary and property damage on the opposite side of town."

Part of the reason citizens are taking such violent action is because of the government's bias against San Juadro and the local community. The town had been called Izatepan since the late 1600s. In an effort to draw the locals into the official religion of the government, Presidenta Fernanda Leoz renamed the town after a government sanction saint in 2015. This came along with restrictive laws and unfairly punitive fines with restrictions including freedom of religion.

"Perhaps religious infidelity is to blame for the environment's response to the city of San Juadro", La Presidenta Leoz said in response to the disaster. "I see no reason why extra funds should be sent to pay to repair their blasphemous damage." It almost appeared the Coapucan dictator was set to stick it to her political rivals. Yet she seemed to show a rare streak of 'generosity'. "But Catolicismo Federal teaches us to help and love one another. Therefore, the government will allocate a healthy sum of 800 million dollars to help restore normalcy to San Juadro."

The only problem is that local officials say this won't be nearly enough. "That amount will barely get our roads and plumbing infrastructure back in order. Homes and businesses will be lost without any reimbursement", said Julianne Oretga-Vega, mayor of San Juadro. "Families will go homeless."

The city of San Juadro is setting up temporary shelter in an abandoned, open air soccer stadium that has been closed since 1994. Hospitals are at max capacity and several schools have been turned into triage locations. Taxicabs have been commandeered into ambulances. The lights and sounds of sirens seemed to almost be continuous following the 9:23pm event, setting the nighttime sky awash in lights of red, amber and blue until sunrise.

"The people of San Juadro will overcome their judgement", said La Presidenta. "The government will see to it that the city rejoins Coapuca as a stronger and more faithful populace."

Border War: Vesvai’s Military Fires Back At New Vesvai’s Military

The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has been left in a poor state after Rhodeve airstrikes. The border zone on New Vesvai’s side was swept through and left VRA with little possibility of waging war and fighting back. In the meantime the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces are in a much better shape. The missile batteries for land targets and anti-air missiles are still standing and a descent number of forces is mobilized against VRA’s undercut numbers. RVSF’s command used this hit that VRA took as an opportunity to call in for more artillery to be sent in to the frontline and troops too. A new mobilization has been called to grow RVSF’s positions while the power scale is tipped in the Dominion’s favor. RVSF intends to keep it that way.

Still New Vesvai’s VRA did not stand down so easily even after the massive blow. They still launched a counter-offensive with whatever they had. VRA deployed packs of troops the border and they attacked RVSF’s positions with whatever was at their disposal. VRA’s strategy was obviously to buy time for heavy artillery to be brought in. Rhodeve airstrikes destroyed New Vesvai’s missile systems and tanks so VRA was now relying only on foot soldiers. VRA expected that they would successfully hold up and match RVSF just on manpower. RVSF could see that VRA was not just desperate to keep up a fight but they did need to buy time for replacement missiles and tanks to be sent to the border. RVSF said that the Royal Air Force and allied Rhodeve jets would take care of those too if a necessity comes.

RVSF decided not to waste missiles on the troops. Only anti-air missile batteries were kept more active to be on the lookout for New Vesvai’s or Sunrisian warplanes. But the counter-offensive of New Vesvai’s land army was still posing a threat and forced RVSF to take cover from the intense fire. To counter the aggressive enemy army RVSF instead decided to use mortars against VRA. RVSF launched its own defensive counter-offensive against VRA by firing mortars and shelling VRA army positions. Instead of missiles it was not raining shells on New Vesvai. The increased shelling immediately tipped the scale even more in RVSF’s favor. The fire from VRA was no longer so intense and non-stop because VRA troops were now forced to let go of the trigger from time to time and take cover from the shells. RVSF has been shelling New Vesvai the whole night. In case VRA’s tanks and mobile missile batteries manage to arrive RVSF will be ready to activate its own missile batteries and have the Royal Air Force be ready for airstrikes too.

Rise of the Autodefensas / High Commissioner Jean de Temer under flak for comments made in Appeltern Statement

Miecan town leader, General Secretary Alfonso Perrez is the head of the autodefensa "Percegar Nor-Miecan Teto de Libera" (North Percegar-Miecan Liberation Force) a self-proclaimed self defence group, spread out over a hundred miles around the Miecan area. All of the men and women within this force are locals, farmers and civilians that live and reside in the immediate area that have joined the group in the spirit to rid their communities of organised cartels and even malevolent paramilitaries. Perrez SUV is armoured with thick window screens and iron plated doors - a long with the other vehicles that the group use to patrol the area in. His SUV forms a part of a small convoy travelling through the centre of Miecan - a small agricultural town near the confluence of two small rivers. For its history going back decades the town has been a focal point for the activity of criminal cartels and paramilitaries, and it has also been the subject of attack from terrorists. All of the members of the autodefensas are officially equipped with legal pistols and other sidearms, however the government accuses these groups of patrolling with illegal heavy weaponry.

As Alfonso leads the convoy down the middle of Miecan, he and his brother (Herido Perrez) also in the vehicle make sure to visually check up and down each street, to evaluate every man, woman and child. They are on the look out for suspicious activity of any kind, something which may denote cartel behaviour. As he drives some other cars in traffic beep and many other civilians wave to the convoy - they are not an unwanted presence. The town is clearly deprived, and a sense of community is strong here. Herido Perrez clings to his bullet proof jacket as he views out of the thick glass. He has reason to be wary.

The self-defense group as they call themselves - was founded in 2017. It was only this year in which they have ballooned in size after local Miecan community leaders threw their weight behind the project. It was a response to a growing cartel scene in which many young cartels, prospering off what some may see as government inaction, poverty and unemployment and the disappearance of once prevalent paramilitaries, these cartels arrived in the area and begun extorting and even attacking the local populace forcing many farmers into growing opium. After the death of a young teenager in December of last year believed to have been involved in a cartel spat, local leaders said they had enough. "If the police are going to sit and do nothing all day, what other option do we have?" says Alfonso. Rain batters the windscreen but the Perrez family know too well that the weather would not dissuade cartels from launching an attack against their convoy.
"We have to be worried. It was only two weeks ago they threw grenades right here, straight at us from some of the buildings here. They then littered our cars with bullets expecting us to shoot back into these houses. We can only thank God that nobody was injured. They simply have no consideration for anybodies lives. Only one of them got arrested soon after."

We pass the local police station which looks desolate. We asked many soldiers from the group (Of which the group is around 40 strong) about the local police and how they deal with crime. Many say they simply do not deal with anything. "Every time we engage with cartels, whether a shooting or we have caught cartel members, the police will only show up long after the trouble is over. We are very lucky that so far there has only been injuries, God forbid something worse may happen." All of a sudden, Alfonso's phone lights up with notifications. In southern Miecan, around ten miles outside of the town - a gunfight is ensuing. Quickly the patrolling convoy turns around and speeds off in that direction, we put on our Press labelled jackets. A checkpoint in the area found a truck transporting drugs and shortly after discovering it, cartels began shooting at the checkpoint. An ambush or not, we must head there quickly. Anxiety is high in the vehicle and Alfonso remains consistently on the phone working out the details of what is going on. Around five or so cartel members continue to attack the adjacent buildings as the original truck vanished. As we approach, the commander fears a second ambush. It is possible the cartels are aware that the convoy would arrive and could be ready to launch a secondary attack.

Arriving at the scene of the suspected ambush, bullet holes riddle the side of the building at the edge of the road. Along the other side is a large plantation in which the cartel members fled. There is no sign of those that shot at the checkpoint, nor is there any signs of the truck which was initially caught for the drugs carried under it. Shells litter the ground and the crater of an exploded grenade creates a larger than usual pothole in the middle of the road. Alfonso and his team search and make safe the immediate area while remaining on high alert.

The checkpoint ran by the Liberation Force, in which local police suspect the Three Headed Jaguar cartel attacked. The Liberation Force often run checkpoints in and out of Miecan, they say it is in order to halt the flow of drugs into the town.

This is the fourth concerted attack on the group in the past two weeks. The superior training and armament of the Liberation Force has meant that they have avoided any deaths during their groups existence, but for how long will that be?

Two hours after the first shots were fired at the checkpoint, the local police arrive. Gathering the discarded shells into polyester bags, taking statements and photographs - the two officers with their light body armour, sidearm and berets are gone in twenty minutes. "You can see why we need to protect ourselves out here." says Alfonso, whom has had to provide statements about incidents such as these hundreds of times over. "Nothing is ever done, there is barely any prosecutions. This would be unacceptable in Transtrand, unacceptable in Aygon or Podzia, but it is acceptable here. We seem to have a new policing commissioner appointed nearly every year. All they are interested in is furthering their career by skewing figures or implementing plans that never do anything. It is sad."

After following the movements and patrols of the Liberation Force, we negotiated an interview with the local police commissioner Manuel Monterá, appointed by the local commissioner, Commissioner Monterá has only been in the post for just over a year. He told us that his department was concerned by the rise in these self defense groups repeatedly stating that they impede the work of the police force. At one stage, Commissioner Monterá said that these organisations have ties to old paramilitaries - an accusation virulently denied by the Liberation Force. However, he admitted that his department is underfunded and under equipped for the threats that they face. In the past the military often took control over fighting organised crime including paramilitarism, however as the threat waned in 2016 the Commiss Army withdrew, and that left a "power vacuum of immense proportions" said Commissioner Monterá. However, Mr. Monterá finalised; "When I leave office I want to leave North Percegar a safer place, and that would be impossible to do if we didn't have the Autodefensas. There is community work that the police are simply not able to do, but work that those already in the community are well able to carry out and are carrying out." However, he stopped short of saying that the Autodefensas were a good force for the region.

As we leave Miecan and North Percegar, our view of the region has changed substantially. The tranquillity, beautiful wilderness and pockets of settlement make for a pretty and at-ease picture. Dig underneath however, and we see an area suffering with poverty, unemployment, and an increasingly prevalent cartel problem. Nothing says it more than driving an hour away from the local police station to find fields of unhidden opium poppies and flying cartel flags. For me a journalist born and raised in Suroelado, there is nothing weirder than seeing a region almost completely devoid of government presence. And we know that North Percegar isn't alone, regions such as these include north and east Brekien, Nordmelingar, and many parts of western Cyprexe and Chalendon. Yet we haven't met a place friendlier, the people are the most hospitable I have came across. We are like foreigners to them.

For the future of the region, it is imperative that the government invests and invests heavily. The flight of the young people from these regions will mean that their under population will soon become fatal. The decades of conflict have meant that the excuses that were once reiterated repeatedly by those in Aygon - are no longer tangible. Without investment and hope, the state will continue to fall prey to criminals and their associated illegality. This was me Sébastien Ordoñez and this was a special S7NN documentary.

In other news, High Commissioner Jean de Temer has attracted criticism for his comments that he made while visiting the militarised border between Caledonia and the self proclaimed Weniges Reich, a foreign occupied sovereign territory of Daredland. In his three day trip, the High Commissioner surveyed the area and held discussions with the Caledonian Regional Commissioner Oskar Heinmann , as well as seeing first hand the economic and social ties that have been cut due to the complete closure of the border. Commissioner Temer also used the trip to gauge the public opinion in the region, as well as an attempt to bring relief from the Unitary Government to many areas that have seen hardship due to the border closure. However, yesterday on his final day of the visit - in Appeltern the High Commissioner attended a press conference and for his position, made a very controversial response to a question involving cultural unity; "It is mighty unfortunate that the two nations and regions once so bonded, be it economically and culturally, have been torn a part by the reckless imperialism of the Englean Kaisserreich, whose tactics have not changed in centuries. Divide and conquer, it is the Hunnic way. As a nation, Damsmar must stay. Or we may see it easier that they see to it our fate is as secured as the fate of Daredland."

Almost immediately, uproar was felt through the Tridecian and Montedoran regional commissions. Edúard Domingos (Soldurs Des Regional Commissioner for Trident) condemned the response by High Commissioner Temer; "I am more than disgusted at the comments made by Jean de Temer. For a man who holds such a trusted position within the government, to come out with such a politically charged and motivated statement such as this - makes his position untenable. This is not the first time he has displayed such arrogance and contempt for the role he plays. He should resign immediately, he no longer has the confidence of the Council."
Last month, High Commissioner Temer came under flak for stating that his role was becoming "obsolete" and should be "renamed Deputy Unitary Commissioner". Having been in his position for only three months, fervent Alternate Liberal Mr. Temer has exacted a large amount of controversy compared to his predecessor, independent MUP Pierre Solas.

The High Commissioner, often seen as the second highest government position within Damsmar, is an intermediary office held between the Unitary Council (the 7 Regional Commissioners of Damsmar) and the Unitary Government. The High Commissioner relays the wishes of the majority of the Unitary Council to the Unitary Government, and is responsible for keeping government policy respectful to the policies of the regional commissions. In matters such as the constitutional position of the states within Damsmar, the High Commissioner is mandated to remain neutral and is further mandated to respect the wishes of all members of the Unitary Council. In this case, it could be argued Mr. Temer has broken the vital rule that the High Commissioner is neutral, neither pro-Union or anti-Union.

Calls for Mr. Temer to resign have been echoed through the top positions of many Damsmarian regional commissions, especially within the Trident and Montedoran - both Edúard Domingos and Ablija Hejkovic (United Nationalist Regional Commissioner for Montedoran) have said that they will be supporting a Communist motion within the Unitary Council to depose of Mr. Temer as High Commissioner, and thereafter seek their own unanimously agreed candidate with the endorsement of the Unitary Parliament. Should the Unitary Government veto this movie, Ablija Hejkovic stated "All faith in the Unitary system would be completely lost. We would have no choice but to cut all ties with the central government in Aygon."

Sunrisian Forces Help New Vesvaian Forces Defend Border In A Separate Counter-Offensive: Updates From The Frontline

While keeping the situation under fair control on maritime and aerial fronts, the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) has launched its’ own counter-offensive in reinforcement of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army, which has been facing some problems. The New Vesvaian forces took a huge hit from Rhodeve airstrikes which destroyed the majority of New Vesvaian missiles batteries, armored vehicles, tanks and also decreased the number of personnel on the New Vesvaian side of the border. A Sunrisian anti-aircraft attack with surface-to-air missile managed to take down one Rhodeve jet, with the pilot surviving and being evacuated to a hospital in the Dominion of Vesvai. However, the enemy air force mostly succeeded in its’ aerial campaign, which it categorized as retaliation for Sunrisian airstrikes and cruise missile attacks from before, which have also hit Vesvaian positions, destroying much of the heavy artillery and delivering a blow to the enemy army’s numbers.

Following the attack on New Vesvaian positions, the Dominion of Vesvai stood armed and ready, with a variety of missile systems for land and air targets, as well as tanks. The Vesvaian Military began shelling the New Vesvaian side of the border. The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army rushed to defense of the land border with whatever forces they could mobilize at that moment and New Vesvaian soldiers were holding up, while fighting with whatever they had. Their objective was to buy time for the heavy artillery to arrive. At that moment, New Vesvai was, if not losing, then really being pushed back at the land front, giving an opening for Vesvaian forces to push forward and possibly even invade the territory of New Vesvai out of the mare capability to do so.

In order to reinforce the land front, the Sunrisian Army has been ordered to strike with a power-counter offensive in reinforcement of the New Vesvaian Army. The majority of forces were brought over by helicopters, while the rest arrived by land vehicles. Sunrisian soldiers opened fire on Vesvaian soldiers not only with rifles and machine guns, but “bullet-based” weaponry was not the only weaponry operated by the counter-offensive forces. A lot of anti-tank missiles were used to destroy Vesvaian tanks and armored vehicles. Some aim was made against the missile batteries, but those, along with some armored vehicles at the further distance, had to be taken down by new aerial and cruise missile attacks. The Sunrisian Air Force took a gamble and went on a new aerial campaign against the Vesvian positions, despite the Dominion’s Military having many anti-aircraft missiles at their disposal. With cover from the ground by the Sunrisian Army, the Sunrisian Air Force launched airstrikes and bombings of the Vesvaian missile batteries, tanks and packs of military personnel. The aerial campaign was overall successful, however, the Sunrisian Air Force had to move quick, because they were coming under heavy enemy fire from the ground. The Sunrisian Air Force could not destroy all the targets it intended to, but the aerial raid was deemed a success overall. Not so much luck was had with cruise missile attacks. The Sunrisian Naval Forces, from the territorial waters of New Vesvai, launched a new long-range cruise missile attack into the territory of the Dominion of Vesvai, however, the missile was taken out by Rhodeve forces, after which the Sunrisian Naval Forces did not attempt to partake in the campaign against the enemy land forces and focused against the enemy navy. On land front, however, the counter-offensive continued. The Sunrisian Army brought in heavy artillery in a form of several haubit guns that were firing one after another at Vesvaian positions. Finally, came the awaited column of tanks as the final wave of the current counter-offensive.

As for updates from other parts of the frontline, heavy clashes have been reported between Sunrisian and Rhodeve navies. No sinking of ships on either side has been confirmed so far, but many ships on both sides have taken heavy damage and according to officers, will need to be put out of service. The Sunrisian Naval Forces has been evacuating some of its’ “immobilized” warships and deploying fresh replacements, while the crews of those ships have been taken to hospitals in New Vesvai. It is unclear whether these clashes remained long-distant, with neither navy violating the maritime borders of their allies and just firing at each other from the distance, or if both Sunrisian and Rhodeve ships did occasionally leave the territorial waters they were allowed in, to clash with each other physically. All possibilities are open, but only military officer confirmations or denials will paint the actual picture, unless you count wartime propaganda or the order of military secrecy at time of war. Maritime Protection Law Passed, Warships Deployed To Vesvai
Today, Parliament passed and Queen Karen signed into law the Maritime Protection Act, a security measure put in place to protect territorial and economic waters of the United Queendoms. This bill has been on the table in the recent past, however with the crisis in Vesvai escalating regional tensions, both Houses of Parliament pushed for its passing to allow the Royal Belantic Navy and United Queendoms Coast Guard to take extra steps to ensure national security. The law includes the authorization to stop and search any foreign vessel entering Belantic waters, and to detain the crew if any contraband such as weapons, drugs, or enemy propaganda were found onboard.

On top of that, the Ministry of Defense has deployed the RBN on both missions to protect the territorial integrity of Belantica and to send two fleets, consisting of 22 warships, to Vesvai in order to help protect the Commonwealth member from any further encroachment from enemy forces. It has also been confirmed that submarine fleets will also be on patrol on “hunter” missions to disable any enemy ship before reaching Belantic waters. Furthermore, the RBN warships being deployed to Vesvai are under order to not attack any ship unless it is an active threat to RBN or allied ships. Based on sailing around Smoya, it is expected that these warships will arrive in Vesvai within 5 days on a steady course. It is not confirmed whether they will engage directly with enemy warships or conduct other operations. In addition, the Royal Belantic Naval Air Service (RBNAS) will conduct its own operations to support ground and naval forces. In addition, current patrols between vital commerce routes and around the islands will remain.

Armada de Coapuca Acquires Surplus ASF-14 'Super Tomcats'

"The ebon wings of these aircraft are the wings to a brighter future", said La Presidenta in a speech rendered on the Palace Stoop. "To other nations, they are simply surplus. Trash waiting to be discarded or traded. But we... We Coapucans know how to recycle."

Top Armada officials have been negotiating with the Svennson Tropical Island Chain in pursuit of securing a deal on the Tomcat fighters. The F-14 variants were signed down to the island of 'tropical Scandinavians' from the greater empire responsible for the Caribbean territory. F-35 aircraft replaced the last active Svennish ASF-14 in 2018. Coapucan officials began negotiating almost immediately.

Svennish generals delayed the sale for as long as they could. A judge finally ruled in favor of Coapuca, allowing the arms deal and several other initiatives. Coapucan contractors have already begun working up modifications to the aircraft, helping to further modernize the platform.

Coapucan ASF-14s will be land based operating out of three Armada bases at Punhuita, Cuyocapa and El Pazalco. Their missions will focus primarily on anti-aircraft operations. Their land based nature will allow them greater flexibility in payload, since carrier based aircraft must often empty heavier weapon loadouts before landing. Coapucan F-14s will be able to carry up to 6 Phoenix missiles, bringing long range capability to Armada interceptors.

The aircraft will also likely be modified for greater prowess in either anti-shipping or close air support operations depending on operational loadout.

"These Super Tomcats will bolster coastal defense as a whole", said vice almirante Fabian Jose Zivera. "The Armada will do its part to work with Marines on the ground and even Army soldiers working near our shores."

F-14 aircraft are known for favoring maneuverability over stealth. Svennish pilots also operated from ground based units, leaving a mark on these particular airframes. These ASF-14's are built heavier, with thicker fuel tanks in the wings for increased range. Another benefit to the large airframe is the amount of space it has available for a larger, more powerful radar system. The space was partially generated because ASF-14's feature larger intakes for the more modern F-14 powerplant.

The first set of Tomcat pilots completed training 6 months ago. They have been training on La Presidenta's own expectation of eventually securing the deal. The aircraft themselves were far from procured at the time these pilots graduated from flight training. After graduating basic and jet pilot training, the pilots practiced using F-16 aircraft of the Air Force. ASF-14 Simulator activity was also a key part of training for pilot and RIO alike.

"I'm so excited about the chance to finally fly the Super Tomcat", teniente de navío Marianne Robles said. The 23 year old fighter pilot was pinned with the Rose Stem Award for finishing training at the top of her class. A brief ceremony was held during the official welcome event for the fighters. She will be taking command of the squadron at Punhuita.

"This is a step in the right direction for our armed forced", said La Presidenta. "I know there has been pressure to spend funds on education and healthcare. I send my word as Presidenta. These aircraft are just as important, given the big picture."

The leader reminded Coapucans of the turmoil brewing around the region. "Naval activity is at dangerously high levels not far from our shores", said Presidenta Garcia-Leoz. "One day the heathens might come knocking at our door. It is the danger of these barbarians which has taken money out of our schools and hospitals."

Back On Its Feet, New Vesvai’s Military Hits Back

The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has bounced back. VRA took a real hit after the Rhodeve aerial raid and was forced to rush mobilized new reinforcements to the frontline for border defense. The troops fighting with whatever at their disposal had to buy time until heavy artillery arrives with new tanks, weapons and missile systems. The Sunrisian counter-offensive greatly helped prop up the overwhelmed VRA facing against a more powerful enemy in a form the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces and their allies. With the help it got and with its own reinforcements having arrived VRA has now been able to launch its own counter-offensive. Live reports from the frontline say that VRA has inflicted major damage on RVSF and Rhodeve forces. The neutralization of RVSF’s missile systems by new Sunrisian airstrikes greatly helped the successful land assault. On the maritime front the re-mobilized and refreshed Revolutionary Navy took out two Layfetian gunboats. VRA says that power on the frontline has shifted back in New Vesvai’s favor.

Riots Worsen As Military Arrives In San Juadro

"I was just trying to get bread for my family", said 42 year old Evian Concalves. The local truck driver was one of many looters to run into a resurgence of police and military forces brought on by daylight. "I'm not one of those people stealing televisions or cars. There is no food. What are we supposed to do?"

Evian's sister Lydia Concalves was also detained by the police. "I never took anything, but was taken in because I was with my brother. Since then the only thing that has happened has been an invasive set of searches and waiting here... In this room." Although not formally arrested, hundreds to thousands of people like Lydia have been placed in holding cells for 'suspicious association'.

"They could have still purchased the bread", said the unidentified officer responsible for the arrests.

As security stepped up forces by daylight, so did the looters. Simple theft escalated into full scale rioting. Gunfire erupted in Distrito del Acantilado. The northernmost corner of San Juadro saw groups of armed protesters combat government forces on their arrival.

"We were taking fire from every direction", said Sargento Juan Ortega Manzares of the Army of Coapuca. "We decided not to dismount as we had planned. Instead we circled back along a road which took us to higher terrain. Our troop transports (4x4 wheeled APCs) then set up firing arcs on some of the buildings that fired on us. So we engaged." The vehicles maneuvered onto the cliffs which gives the urban district its name.

The international community is worried about the reckless, almost non-existent rules of engagement the Coapucan military is using on its citizens.

"La Presidenta is not my Presidenta", said a masked street tough from the chaotic Acantilado streets to the sounds of automatic gunfire in the distance. The heavyset man carried a backpack and an imported assault rifle. "Her comments equated to laughter in our faces. The city's face. Coapuca's face. She blames the quake on her heresy and then announces she just bought fighter planes. This is only the beginning. We are going to free Coapuca from this regime and turn it into the tourist trap paradise it should be."

Government forces are investigating how the foreign weapons made it into the hands of so many citizens in the city. They have yet to speculate on whether this is the result of an organized cell. The words of the masked man went viral. Presidenta Leoz herself even saw and responded to the footage.

"Over my dead body will Coapuca ever be free", she said boldly. "Coapuca is bound to duty. Duty to each other, to the nation itself and to me. La Presidenta."

Commiss Army recover over 200 rifles, 14,300 rounds of ammunition, 14 grenades and an RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) as they begin a security operation in North East Montedoran

Severe disruption has been felt across Alambra and North East Montedoran as the Commiss Army launch a huge security operation covering hundreds of miles, effectively locking the region down. The operation began shortly after police-recovered intelligence that lead the army to a huge weapons dump located in a hidden forest clearing near El Telayar, around half an hour away from Alambra. Counting is still ongoing, but so far the army has stated that over 200 rifles, 14,300 rounds of ammunition, 14 grenades, an RPG and numerous amounts of bomb making equipment has been recovered by army technical officers, whom are still making the scene around the El Telayar village safe. Numerous checkpoints have been made active as the Commiss Army state that over 1,000 troops stationed from other parts of Damsmar are being brought to the region as they begin an "immense security operation to curtail the activity of North East Montedoran MIS". The official statement from the Commiss Army read;

"In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Montedoran Police Service received information regarding the movement of illegal weaponry destined for use of Montedoran terrorists, more specifically the North East Montedoran MIS. An active and evolving security operation has since been mounted, with a large amount of weaponry having already been seized by army technical officers. Due to the nature of the security operation, severe disruption can be expected for motorists in the area."

Independent security analysts tell us that the nature of the security operation, confirmed by eye witnesses and those present in the area - suggests that this is very much a sting operation and very likely to be an attempt to severely disrupt the North East Montedoran MIS, a terrorist group which thrive in the area. Already numerous disturbances have been recorded, including an incident where shots were fired at police. Should the army remain in the area for long it is likely that we will see further disturbances and general disruption to the normal life of the locals. Local residents already express their dismay, many being caught in long queues and pop-up checkpoints. "Reminds us of times that we thought had passed" says an elderly man as the police check his truck. Throughout Alambra and El Telayar, there is a huge presence of army and police, usually quiet estates and areas have been turned by the consistent noise of circling helicopters and passing convoys. The general feeling from the populace is one of resentment.
