Hastings to appear on August cover of the Notebook Magazine

An unexpected face is appearing on the August cover of Layfet's most popular fashion magazine and it is of course it is the nation's fastest rising female politician and Union Party Nominee for Executive Minister of Layfet Spencer Hastings. The magazine reports that it will have an exclusive interview with the nominee that includes details on her journey upward the political latter as well as insights into her personal life. It will also contain a photo-shoot of the candidate, with rumors that some of the photos will contain banners from her campaign. This combined with the fact that she is even appearing in the magazine has caused quite the controversy among many prominent politicians and in the public sphere.

Both of the other major party candidates - Fraiser Krane and Anthony Benson has called her appearance a "political stunt" with Krane further commenting that Hastings is "using herself as a sex icon as a means sell her campaign and sway voters." He later posed the question that if she is willing to this, "what other tactics will she stoop down to using?" Other politicians including Governor of Cataland Alan Peters said "This is what happens when we let traditional values leave our homes, and now she is running for office? What will our children think?"

Other politicians have come to Hastings' defense including Epinay City Mayor Sarah Hutch "We should allow anyone to express themselves freely without being hampered down by rape culture. Educate boys not to prey on women and let women be who they want to be." Hastings herself commented on the recent attacks: "We are allowed to use the media in a fair way to give exposure to their campaigns, if Krane or Benson wanted to appear on the cover of a fashion magazine, more power to them. As for this 'sex icon' comment floating around, we all need to learn to be a little more sex positive and not be all hush-hush about it. Plus I should be able to express myself how I want to without any threat or degrading comments from anyone, male or female. This country may be progressive, but their is still of lot of patriarchy going around and that's not okay."

A Nordipolica Post Survey found that the public sides with Hastings' choice with 74 percent of respondents agreeing with Hastings with 20 percent of respondents disagreeing with her, and six percent saying it isn't important. Hastings leads current polls too with 65 percent, Krane at 10 percent, and Benson at 25 percent. The August issue of the Notebook releases on the 15th.

BREAKING: Prime Minister Beana Villano And Minister Of The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet Storm Out Of A Failed Government–Protester Meeting

Prime Minister Beana Villano and Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet finally met with protester leaders headed by Adi Letago. The meeting took place in a banquet hall of one capital Perloveu’s five star hotels. The press was there and the participants had a pile of microphones in-between them. The meeting was definitely awkward but everyone was there to talk business in a cold demeanor. It appeared that the participants shared a mutual goal of bringing New Vesvai’s crisis to a close. During the meeting the hotel had to increase its security and were even helped out by the riot police and the National Guard. The anti-government demonstration was happening near this hotel too. The protesters knew that Prime Minister Beana Villano and Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet were there with the protest leader Adi Letago. The demonstrators wanted to show their support for the protester side in these tough negotiations and to pressure the government. The hotel was only accessible to government officials, law enforcement, hotel staff and journalists.

During the meeting Prime Minister Beana Villano took the lead in the talks on the government’s behalf. Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet sat there mostly silent with a methodical and calculating expression. PM Villano almost looked like a personal attorney of Polvandet while he was just sitting back and letting her do the work. Whenever some harsher accusation was fired against him Polvandet would yell out defensive statements from time to time. But he was mostly stonewalling the protesters. On the other side Adi Letago was doing most of the talking. His associates would also chime in and add their own word on occasion but they too acted as an entourage most of the time. There were no time for press questions but just for arguing among the participants that was captured by microphones.

Being the most anticipated event in New Vesvai since July 19 the meeting did not go over well. After about fifteen minutes of talking PM Villano got up from her chair and walked over to the microphones. She was now facing the journalists and ignoring the protest leaders to her left:

“This meeting is over. These people to my left have the audacity to think that they hold any power that allows them demand for our entire government’s resignation. They’re talking about unconditional resignation. These people were not even elected by anybody to make such demands. They’re not even part of any opposition parties we have so we don’t even really know who we are talking to here. These people are on a level of street rioters and nobody else. They’re lucky that we have even given them the honor to have this meeting and that we agreed to listen to what they have to say. This is ridiculous. It’s over and we’re leaving.”

PM Villano then walked off stage. Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet soon got up from his chair and followed her. The two were escorted by security out of the lobby and later led to bullet-proof limos that would take them out hotel territory through a barricaded and guarded path.

Opposition Alliance – New Nationalists have fulfilled another electoral promise. The new opposition-run parliament continues cleaning house and starting with a clean slate. Last week a new prime minister from the opposition was appointed to head the new government. Prime Minister Terr Ciramān ascended to office as a government leader from Opposition Alliance – New Nationalists. This week the new government continued cleaning house by making President Karr Gaudēl face a confidence vote. Without much surprise the President lost the confidence vote and was removed from office effective immediately. The former President said he would be going into the opposition like other officials from the previous government. Gaudēl does not plan to join any parties and would stay an Independent. The former President revealed that he is thinking of running for a second term in the upcoming presidential election and that his fresh removal has not taken away his confidence. As a nonpartisan politician Gaudēl still believes in his chances much as much higher than of partisan candidates. With Gaudēl’s removal from office, Ninn Ālgora has been appointed Acting President until the presidential election.

In The Style Of Color Revolutions, Protest Leader Adi Letago Declares Silver Revolution In New Vesvai

The government–protester meeting was the last and only hope to resolve the crisis in New Vesvai through dialogue and a two-sided agreement. It has now failed and came crashing down worse than anybody could have expected. Prime Minister Beana Villano and Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet stormed out of the meeting with refusal to follow the protester ultimatum. Everyone has been looking forward to this meeting for a while and its failure now leaves the future uncertain. The protest leadership sure took PM Villano’s and Minister Polvandet’s actions as an insult. After the failed meeting Adi Letago went on stage before the crowd once again. He made the ultimate declaration that was saved up for the occasion of the government’s rejection to come to an agreement.

On stage before hundreds of thousands Adi Letago declared the Silver Revolution in New Vesvai. Letago followed the trend of the so-called “color revolutions.” It is when regime changes have happened in nations through a national uprising with a particular color being thematically picked as a symbol. Most color revolutions have been peaceful and successful. The most recent example could be the Flaming Revolution in Daredland though a torch was picked as a symbol rather than a color. The Daredi revolution could still fall in that category. New Vesvai has learned a lot more about the Flaming Revolution in Daredland because both nations are members of the Council of 3.

Adi Letago explained to the crowd that he has chosen silver as a thematic color for the revolution because it is a close color to the stripes and a Coat of Arms on New Vesvai’s flag. That color is one of the major differences with the flag of the Dominion of Vesvai which uses yellow for its stripes and for the Eagle in the top left corner. The color difference is a visual symbol that sets New Vesvai and the Dominion of Vesvai apart. It highlights the differences in more ways than one between two pieces of what used to be one nation.

Letago declared that the government had its chance and threw it away. There will be no more meetings only the government’s resignation enforced by an uncontrollable peaceful protest. He called on every citizen to rise up against the government in a peaceful protest that will force the leadership to resign. The protest leader was fair and did not exclude that some extreme peaceful measures may have to be used to get the Silver Revolution to work.

All Forms Of Non-Lethal Civil Disobedience Encouraged

In his speech Adi Letago encouraged all forms of peaceful civil disobedience and even listed off the methods. He dearly asked that the protesters not take things too far and hurt themselves to blackmail the government or put it on their conscience. Letago did not voice it by name but he was probably referring to the horrible act of self-immolation often used in protest against more totalitarian regimes. Letago has called on all New Vesvaians to join him a general strike that he plans to declare very soon. Authorities criticize that Letago’s methods will paralyze New Vesvai and only harm the nation.

Election Results Are In, Mikkelsen Remains Premier, Triggers Outrage

Waves of protesters took to the streets last night as election results were broadcast live across the EUSR. Premier Mikkelsen, what many concluded was the least popular candidate, won with a substantial majority which nominally secures his leadership over the Socialist Republic for the next four years. However, this has triggered a wave of anti-government protests and riots throughout the country, as people claim that the Mikkelsen administration deliberately manipulated ballot results to give him his 78.8% majority vote.

These riots were particularly violent in the city of Reschergaad, with police unable to quell the unrest and the Army unwilling to intervene. The city is now facing multiple fires in multiple areas, mobs chanting anti-government slogans. A number of fatalities have already been reported, and the estimated damages are only ticking rapidly upward. While many have condemned the acts of violence, some are seeing it in a more positive light, with one protester in Mtargn saying: "We tried peaceful protests and it didn't work. I guess violence is the only thing Mikkelsen understands at this point."

The Premier has yet to leave the Premier's residence, having shut himself inside nearly two months ago when the initial protests began. It's unlikely with the waves of violence gripping the country that he will leave anytime soon. While we tried to reach out for him to comment, we were unsuccessful. Instead, we were giving the following: "The Premier is not available at this time. He is currently too busy securing the Socialist Republic's future in a world that wishes it snuffed out."

Violence in EUSR Indicative of the Failings of Socialism, Says President

Having returned from a successful visit to Artwingen to meet with VU leaders, the President has largely been out of the public spotlight these past few days. Now that the Eikangaard Socialist Republic seems to be tearing itself apart, the President has ended his short period of silence to comment on the growing violence.

"I believe that this is indicative of a much bigger issue." Said the President to a crowd of reporters this morning. "The EUSR's news agency isn't reporting on it, but this is less a protest against one man and more a protest against a whole system. The people of the EUSR are waking up to reality. Socialism doesn't work. It hasn't worked. It cannot work. The only people who ever benefit are the political elite while everyone else gets quashed. The EUSR is now learning that lesson the hard way. So to the citizens of the EUSR I say this. Rise up, oust your Communist leaders, and join with us in growing a brighter future for all Eikangaard."

The President stated that he will grant a full presidential pardon and offer protection to anyone defecting from the EUSR to the Republic. Already, a new bill is before the house to divert funds to assist in relocating and settling defectors from the communist state. It is expected to pass, with large sections of the Senate publicly announcing their support.

Civil Resistance, Online Activism, Sit-Ins, Blockades, Hunger Strikes And More Happening In New Vesvai

The calls by protest leader Adi Letago for civil disobedience in New Vesvai are working. The declared Silver Revolution is in full swing. The people are engaged in civil disobedience by the call of protest leadership. They are using various forms of disobedience. Citizens are engaged in online activism to encourage every New Vesvaian to take it to the streets and join the revolution. It appears to be working because the protester numbers are still growing and even faster than before.

Rather than just rallying or standing in a large gathering as before the demonstrators are using peaceful sit-ins. They are sitting near authority buildings and in other visible places. The protesters are blocking the roads and stopping traffic. This is a more extreme measure of attracting those behind the wheel from being passive. Most are abandoning their vehicles and joining the protests. The blockades of roads are also keeping the National Guard and the riot police from easily sending in more convoys, reinforcements and the heavy artillery. The authorities can’t grow their own numbers with reinforcements without crushing the people. The same sort of blockades are being organized in airports where people are blocking airfields. That is obviously creating obsticles for planes to land. In New Vesvai countryside protesters are blocking train tracks for an identical purpose aimed at train movement. It seems that a slow paralysis of New Vesvai’s commerce and infrastructure is happening. They look like the first signs of the general strike that protest leader Adi Letago eventually promised.

Some of the civil disobedience measures are already borderline extreme. Letago asked that protesters stay peaceful and not use lethal methods like self-immolation. Yesterday Letago did not say it out loud to not give anyone ideas. Today Letago addressed self-immolation directly and warned against it. At the moment the most dangerous form of civil disobedience are arguably the growing hunger strikes. Many citizens are choosing to engage in them which puts their lives on the line. Letago said he doesn’t support hunger strikes but hasn’t been successful in influencing protesters to call them off in favor of alternative protesting. Those engaged in hunger strikes say that their deaths from hunger would be on the government’s conscience and not Letago’s.

”SpongeBob SquarePants” Season 2 Official Trailer Unveiled At Ucinda Comic-Con

The first official look has been given at the upcoming Season 2 of anime series “SpongeBob SquarePants” at Ucinda Comic-Con. The first official trailer was unveiled at the convention, with a second trailer coming in the near future, before Season 2 finally premieres in early October on TV10. “SpongeBob SquarePants” premiered in late September of last year and was renewed for a second season before Season 1 could even finish airing. High ratings and positive critical reviews have provided even more encouragement to green light a second season for the series. Fans have been especially thrilled, considering that Season 1 still left a lot of openings for the story to continue moving forward. Some would even say that Season 1 contained cliffhangers, which demanded answers or some sort of a resolution.

However, for those who have not yet watched Season 1 and have already been interested to take a look at the leaks of Season 2 Official Trailer online, the creators at the panel themselves have warned that the trailer will contain spoilers for Season 1, therefore, they recommended to watch the leaks at potential future fans’ own risk. Even when the official HD version of the trailer for Season 2 is published online or is shown on television, the creators have “good-willingly” wished to avoid taking a look at that. Instead, they suggested that any potential new fans stream the series online at the production company official streaming service that has all episodes or seek out a DVD, if that format is not too outdated yet. Like Season 1 of “SpongeBob SquarePants”, Season 2 is originally produced in 2 languages – Sunrisian and Japanese. After it finishes airing in Sunrisia, the series will go into international broadcast, dubbed or translated into other languages.

At the “SpongeBob SquarePants” panel, the creators of the series had the author of a manga adaptation with them. In the usual order of things, the manga comes first and a television series, video game or some other adaptation, as well as merchandise, follow later. With “SpongeBob SquarePants” the situation is opposite, where the television series came first and the manga adaptation followed. At the panel, the author stated that the manga adaptation of “SpongeBob SquarePants” and the storyline of Season 1, would begin releasing on December 25, with a new issue coming out every month. The author confirmed that negotiations are underway for the storyline of Season 2 to be adapted into a monthly-released manga as well, with the aim of starting the process soon after the second season premieres in October.

New Vesvai’s Artists J.O. And Aculeus Perform For Protesters In Support Of The Silver Revolution

New Vesvai’s celebrities have shown their support for the Silver Revolution. Many have become direct participants themselves rather than just encouraging and motivating voices from the side. This evening in capital Perloveu the crowds are enjoying performances by New Vesvai’s artists on the same stage that protest leaders and other orators have spoken since the protests began. Two stand-outs of the night have been J.O. and Aculeus. Both have performed several songs and later finished their performances with their own short statements in support of the revolution.

J.O. has most recently gotten the breakthrough exposure at home and internationally as New Vesvai’s representative at Sunalayavision 2019. She only finished ninth and even then she had to share that place with the Kaiserreich and Rhodevus. But J.O. still made her mark by being the first performer and the first representative of New Vesvai at an international event since independence. She returned home a hero. J.O. especially received recognition at home when her band nearly got into a backstage fight with Frontline Marchers from the Dominion of Vesvai. That was the band that represented the Dominion of Vesvai at Sunalayavision. J.O. became even more of hero at home for standing up to them. The song that J.O. performed at Sunalayavision was “One of Us.” Underappreciated abroad the song grabbed the hearts of many New Vesvaians and was a hit at home. J.O. has since commented that the song is lyrically misunderstood as being religious. Specifically Christian. That was just an outer layer according to the artist. J.O. performed “One of Us” and several other songs on stage tonight. It made the atmosphere feel gentle and warmer whereas before it felt like controllable chaos that could explode at any moment. She wished fellow New Vesvaians strength and said that she believes in the revolution’s forthcoming success.

The next stand-out of the night was the artist Aculeus who is originally from the Dominion of Vesvai before New Vesvai seceded. Aculeus has something in common with J.O. other than both of them being supporters and participants of the Silver Revolution. Aculeus also performed in Sunalayavision with the song “Message in a Bottle.” He was living in Aurisi at the time and competed as a representative of the Dominion of Vesvai. He finished eight that year so the result was not too different from J.O. in her Sunalayavision performance. Aculeus defected by emigrating from the Dominion of Vesvai to New Vesvai months after New Vesvai’s declaration of independence. He now lives in capital Perloveu. Aculeus got New Vesvai’s citizenship and promised to become a naturalized New Vesvaian. Despite being a single state once Aculeus has admitted that it has been hard for him to integrate into New Vesvai’s society as someone from the Dominion of Vesvai. The southern portion of the island (which today is independent New Vesvai) has always been more indigenous than the rest of the island (today controlled by the Dominion of Vesvai). The Dominion of Vesvai has mixed more with the colonist culture and the more north you go the more you can see it. On the contrary New Vesvai has secured more indigenous culture but has also mixed with Western Corentians. Aculeus performed a number of songs including “Message in a Bottle.” Before playing “Message in a Bottle” Aculeus made sure to ask if the crowds would be okay with it because that was a song used to represent the Dominion of Vesvai at Sunalayavision. As a result there was a risk that the protesters would hate the song. But in the end Aculeus received approval to face the song. Aculeus finished his set of performances with his own little speech in the end where he declared support for the Silver Revolution and wished for it to prevail. Differing from J.O. and her speech Aculeus was a bit more aggressive and mocking of New Vesvai’s government. He was even spitting as he was talking but that was appreciated as passion for what Aculeus was saying.

The musicians performing for protesters hoped that music could be not only the tool to bring the tension and calm everyone down to ensure the revolution’s peacefulness. They also hoped that music could be a unifying factor that would unite the protesters, the riot police and the National Guard. Maybe even government officials could somehow be affected if they’re listening from behind the barricade.

Protest Leader Adi Letago Announces That A General Strike Would Be Declared Tonight

Adi Letago took the stage after all the musical performers were done. He said so himself that he didn’t want to bring down the mood or break the atmosphere that was created by music. But Letago had another grand announcement to make and he said it would be a decisive and climactic one. Letago announced that the various forms of civil disobedience have begun to paralyze the state’s functions. He referred to the blocking of roads, airports, railways, ports and to the mass strikes. As a recognized protest leader Letago announced that time has come for a general strike which he would declare tonight. That was a message to protesters across the nation and to the government. He once again called for everyone in New Vesvai to join him in the general strike.

Joint CORAU-2019 Wargame Brings Mixed Reactions

Jamestown, Ophioneus – Earlier today Ouraiconian Ambassador to the USA Arthur Papineau submitted a statement of intent that announced a massive Joint Wargame involving not only Ouraicon but our sister state the United Federation of Weypel, The Dominion of Ispanza, The United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus, and The Commonwealth Army. The exercise is the biggest of its kind in Ouraiconian history with 250,000 personnel across all five branches participating.
The exercise, called the Corentia Australis 2019 (CORAU-2019), will take place in all three South Corentian countries. In Ouraicon drills will be held along the military districts along the Englean border to the north, the Zilveren border to the east, and the Talvestovan border area to the south. In Weypel drills will be held around the Englean border area, as well as on and off the western coast of the country. Beach landing drills and naval defense drills will be held on and around the northern islands in Ispanza.

The maneuvers are taking place just as the MDAA Fire Wall drills are coming to a close, with many speculating that the timing of the CORAU drills is not a coincidence. In the statement of intent Ambassador Papineau presented a list of reasons why the four countries feel CORAU is justified. These grievances listed actions by both MDAA member states and actions of the Englean Kaiserreich. These ranged from the blatant disrespect for the Ouraiconian sphere with the MDAA’s actions in Zilverenburg which resulted in billions of dollars in losses due to radiation damages, the tension that has existed between Ouraicon and the Kaiserreich since the Ozalaro War, the multiple instances of Englean interference in elections and cyberattacks, to the infamous Sunrisian Maritime Wall project.

The games, which will take place from August 10th to the 20th, are likely to prompt cautious responses from the MDAA due to the involvement of the Rhodeve and Commonwealth militaries and has already complained about Rhodeve military buildup in the past and it is unlikely they will overlook such a massive mobilization. With President Shaw promising to reduce the presence of Ouraiconian troops at the northern border it is unclear how the Kaiser will respond to this, and whether it will have any effect on the monarch at all.

“The country’s ability to defend itself with the current atmosphere in Corentia, which is very often aggressive and indifferent towards ourselves and our friends means that all four participating nations one hundred percent feel that these drills are justified,” Secretary of State Emilia Baker said in a press conference.

This sentiment was echoed by the other members of the CORAU drill. Weypeler Secretary of State John Hoffman said “In no way are we wanting to provoke a conflict. Ouraicon and Weypel have never sought to expand into lands held by the EK or the MDAA member states. Our military doctrines are defensive in nature and these drills will reflect that. However, our ability to punch back should not be in question either.”

Many across Ouraicon see the drills as a necessary step to keep up in the rapidly polarizing Cold War that has consumed the continent, however, there are those that see the drills as a needless escalation of tensions in the region. Moab Senator Baxter Hughes had this to say on the matter: “A wave of uneasiness is being felt across Moab and the other border states this afternoon. Sure, the Generals and Admirals down in Liberty are safe if this thing goes south but what about the security of our states on the frontier?” Several anti-military protests have been scheduled at college campuses across several major metro areas.
With the involvement of Rhodevus and the Commonwealth Army, many are speculating that this might be a step towards Ouraiconian membership within the Commonwealth, with the Shaw Administration strengthening ties between Liberty and Kingstown it may not entirely be out of the question. However, when asked Secretary Baker refused to comment on the matter.

Saint Angè Ready For the World

Saint Angè, Hanover - Rafael Pier bustles at midday, its deck dilled with surfers and street performers. Across town at Parcel Beach joggers go about their morning run. In the Enfumees Mountains overlooking the metropolis mountain bikers take a break to look out over the hazy city. In my office downtown, I can look west and see the rest of the towering skyscrapers of Saint Angè. However, now there is a new landmark only about a mile away., the newly completed Smart District shines in a bright celebratory display in Olympic colors. In fact, each of the above places up till the last few days has been bustling with construction crews preparing for the 2019 Summer Games. The stadium downtown, the volleyball stadium at Rafael Beach, the Triathlon course at Parcel Beach, the mountain biking course in George Pardee Park, among other courses that have popped up around the city. This $35 billion-dollar enterprise seems to have finally paid off.

The locally-based technology company Sol-Fab was contracted to outfit all Olympic related structures with their trademarked solar panel windows which will be powering the entire event. When combined with the newly completed Saint Angè Smart District also constructed by Sol-Fab, many are hoping will make SA 2019 the first energy negative Olympics in history. Saint Angè Mayor Martin Antonio commented earlier today “We have not only been able to cut the budget by about $15 billion, but we have been able to do it in a way that will only serve to create a more sustainable S.A that we cannot wait for the world to see!”

However, not everyone is so excited by the games coming to town. BREAKING: Protest Leader Adi Letago Declares A General Strike In New Vesvai

It has happened. Mare hours after warning everybody about it protest leader Adi Letago has dared to take a decisive step. Letago has declared a general strike in New Vesvai. He did it from a stage in front of a sea of people in capital Perloveu. His closest associates were by his side and behind him when Letago made the announcement. The protest leader felt that the government had enough time to follow protester negotiations. Yesterday’s failed government–protester meeting confirmed that the government had no dignity left and showed the disrespect that the government felt for its citizens. From that point the time for talking was over but a chance to peacefully walk away always remained. Letago warned the nation of a general strike to give it time to prepare but also to let the government think one last time if it was worth to overstay its welcome. At this point Letago felt he had enough support and trust across the nation which gave him unelected authority to make such a declaration. Letago saw early signs that the protesters themselves have already started taking action similar to a general strike with blockades and hunger strikes. The protest leader thought that the time and conditions were right for the general strike to be declared.

Letago asked that the anti-government protests continue the blocking processes they have been doing and expand them. He asked that additional protesters help fellow anti-government demonstrators. Letago himself plans to join in with of the blockades. The protest leader’s strategy is the last straw where the government will only be stopped when the state it exploits has its pulse stopped and is paralyzed. With a general strike New Vesvai will just stop functioning. It might hurt the citizens too but the government will take a hit and be cornered by this sanction. Even if the officials don’t care for the good of New Vesvai the general strike will be identical to having their oxygen supply cut off. Letago made one final request to the law enforcement, the riot police and the National Guard to join the protesters and stop serving the government. The protest leader also asked that every person in New Vesvai drop everything they are doing and go on strike, join a protest or participate in blockades of state institution functions. Letago appealed to everybody in New Vesvai to have the courage to do this even with the risks intact.

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal Talks Sunalayan Olympics And Rejects Any Questions About New Vesvai

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal attended an honorary press conference today that was held between Vesvai’s athletes and the nation’s press. The conference was dedicated entirely to the topic of sports and the First Annual Sunalayan Olympics. PM Mollisal attended the press conference as the head of government but not as a political persona. His role was to show support for Vesvai’s athletes and wish them luck in front of the whole nation watching the press conference. It was a grant televised event because Vesvai is sending a very large number of athletes so there were a lot of participants in the press conference.

In the First Annual Sunalayan Olympics Vesvai will be competing in eight categories. Those being: Archery, Athletics, Swimming, Canoeing, Gymnastics. Vesvai’s teams will be competing in Football, Water Polo and Volleyball. The largest category of participants from Vesvai will be in Athletics. The second largest will be Swimming. By comparison Canoeing will be the third largest. The emphasis on water sports and beach sports represents Vesvai’s cultural roots as an island-based nation having practiced in such arts a lot.

PM Mollisal asked that there be no political questions in this event focused on sports. But some journalists still had to ruin the atmosphere and go against this rule. The question that triggered the Prime Minister the most was on the situation in New Vesvai. PM Mollisal was asked to give his take on as the head of government in a neighboring state. His angry answer showed that the Prime Minister had no wish to talk about New Vesvai at all:

“I specifically told you that I want no questions on politics but this topic that you brought up is especially on the blacklist. New Vesvai is a taboo topic in our nation and you should all get used to it. They wanted independence and they go it. Let them deal on their own with whatever chaos they are dealing with down there. Just be thankful that the Dominion of Vesvai is stable and not on fire like they are. That will never happen in our nation because of the great law enforcement and citizens following law. We had our troublemakers but they’ve been successfully neutralized. If someone’s thinking of taking an example from what is happening down there and bring it over here, let me stop you know. You will be found and prosecuted for it. Rioting is a disease in any nation and peace is the biggest gift. I’m done with this topic. Let’s keep talking sports and asking questions about sports, okay? No more questions about New Vesvai. I refuse to take any. In fact no political questions at all because that’s not why we’re here today.”

Military Rolls Into The Capital Perloveu, Sides With Protesters

The general strike in New Vesvai is approaching the twenty four hour mark since being declared by protest leader Adi Letago. In these twenty four hours it has been taking effect. New Vesvai has stopped functioning as a normal state and has fallen under the protest control. The protest leadership made it clear to the government and citizens that all of this should end after the government hears what is being demanded of it. The negotiation has already fallen apart so now it appears that the government will just need to face the ultimatum.

In this period of twenty four hours the most interesting and shocking development has occurred. The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has rolled into the capital Perloveu. Tanks and other vehicles were seen coming into Perloveu from many different sides and rolling across streets filled with people. Nobody was hurt because protesters were backing away and letting the military vehicles pass through. The military vehicles themselves were moving forward very delicately without seemingly wanting to run over anyone. Military aircraft was soon flying over Perloveu. Helicopters were landing on building rooftops and soldiers started heading down the skyscraper floors to the ground level.

The protester crowds started to panic over the military’s arrival. VRA were always seen as heroes and protectors of New Vesvai but now the people were scared of them. Many thought that the government had actually deployed the military to use force against the protests in Perloveu and later the rest of New Vesvai. The panicking demonstrators thought that the government was so desperate that it would rather use force than step down. To officials it may have seemed like a tool of pressure or blackmail to enforce an end to the general strike. Physically stopping the general strike by killing protesters would have only caused a civil war and nothing else but the protesters did not exclude such a plan from a desperate government.

Fortunately the demonstrator fears were unfounded. When the military vehicles rolled up to the main square of Perloveu they walked onto the stage that protest leader Adi Letago and other speakers were using to address the protester crowds. That was the same stage that J.O., Aculeus and other artists performed to the protesters from. Adi Letago was standing on the stage with a microphone in his hand as VRA soldiers were walking up stage and towards him. Letago was prepared to be arrested without resistance. But rather than apprehending him one of the commanders reached out his hand towards Letago for a handshake. Afterwards he whispered something in Letago’s ear which made the protest leader smile with excitement in his face. Letago then passed the microphone to the military commander.

The military commander announced to the masses that the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army was formed to protect New Vesvai and defend the good of its people. And with that note he announced that VRA was defecting and siding with the protesters. The military was no longer following the government’s commands and would instead support New Vesvai’s Silver Revolution. Many were not only relieved but euphoric about the announcement because the demonstrators now had the military on their side as protection from authority violence. Some demonstrators started shouting that VRA move in and break down the barricade around the Parliament so that the demonstrators could storm it themselves or have the military remove the government in a coup. But the soldiers insisted on supporting the current peaceful uprising and Letago called upon the demonstrators not to ask the military to use force against the government.

VRA’s defection and siding with the protests means that less forces are present on the unstable border with the Dominion of Vesvai. A defecting military spokesman confirmed this information to the New Vesvai Broadcasting network. He said that there were still a number of New Vesvai’s forces left on the border but it would be safer to end the current crisis as soon as possible so that VRA could get back to defending the border in its full capacity. The spokesperson confirmed that VRA would still defend New Vesvai against an invasion even if the military no longer follows the government’s orders. The last bit of information that the spokesman confirmed was that VRA was united in defecting from the government and supporting the protests. This was not a defection of just some part of the military. But not all of the military could arrive in Perloveu and join the uprising for the same reason of having forces left behind to guard the border.

Government Declares A State Of Emergency In New Vesvai

The AIT-led Parliament has voted to declare a state of emergency in New Vesvai. Opposition parties have boycotted the vote and were not present at the vote. Obviously the vote has passed through because there was no opposition. This was an identical situation to the one regarding the election of Prime Minister Beana Villano. At this point the vote seems redundant because the military has already defected from the government to the opposition side. But the National Guard and riot police across the nation still appear loyal. The government may also be hoping that some of the military might still be pro-government and that not all troops have defected like one of the commanders announced. This is a very dangerous moment. Considering the general strike, the majority citizens joining anti-government protests and military defectors appearing the government is still holding onto pro-government forces and depending on their loyalty. That coupled with a declaration of a state of emergency is setting a stage for a civil war in New Vesvai. The crisis is now at its decisive stage.

Defense Minister Robert Praesedit Briefs Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal On The Situation At The Border With New Vesvai

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal and Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit are holding a personal meeting on national security. The meeting is a briefing by Praesedit on the situation at the border with New Vesvai. Yesterday the troops on the other side have abandoned the border in large numbers. They have later appeared at New Vesvai’s capital Perloveu and announced their siding with the organizers of mass unrest there. New Vesvai’s forces still left many troops behind in the border. They explained this by the need to further deter supposed aggression from the Dominion of Vesvai.

New Vesvai remains paranoid by the fact that there is still a threat coming out from the Dominion of Vesvai. New Vesvai thinks that the Dominion of Vesvai would use the crisis down south as an opportunity to invade. Obviously most of those accusations are lies for New Vesvai’s propaganda. Most the tensions occurred on the border were provoked by New Vesvai and the Dominion of Vesvai was just framed. This has been active campaign to discredit Vesvai. The command of the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces suggested that the decrease in number on the border could be a secret strategy by New Vesvai itself. RVSF generals say that while New Vesvai continues to paint the Dominion of Vesvai as the aggressor New Vesvai itself could be preparing for some sort of a military move. The decrease of troops at the border could be an attempt at psychological warfare. New Vesvai could be seeking for the Dominion of Vesvai to fall into a false sense of security. That might be followed by Vesvai likewise decreasing the number of troops at the border. The commanders have strongly advised against this.

All concerns were reported to Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit who has arranged a personal meeting with PM Jonathan Mollisal. The Prime Minister is being briefed on the situation at the border and reporting the military’s concerns to the head of government. The two are simultaneously working out an outline of a strategy.

BREAKING: New Vesvai’s Government Announces Resignation In Its Entirety

The Silver Revolution has won. Yesterday it seemed like the government was too stubborn to submit and would rather start a civil war to secure power. But today the nation’s leadership has finally broken under the immense pressure and the heated atmosphere. New Vesvai’s AIT-led government has officially resigned. Prime Minister Beana Villano did not go before cameras for a national address to announce her resignation from behind a desk or a podium. Instead she posted a brief social media response where she offered her personal resignation from office but not only that. She has also announced that after a series of intense discussions the entire cabinet has agreed to resign too. She singled out Minister of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army Varsi Polvandet as definitely having agreed to resign together with all of the cabinet. But even that was not the end of it. Villano said that the AIT governing coalition has decided to withdraw its majority from the Parliament and leave it up to the opposition parties to steer the wheel further even without a mandate. According to Villano somebody has to fill the vacuum at the Parliament.

The resignation of PM Beana Villano over social media rather than a broadcasted address obviously shows her unwillingness to face the nation just yet. Villano will definitely make New Vesvai’s history for better or for worse. She was the third Prime Minister of New Vesvai since independence and the first female Prime Minister. But today she has become the first and only New Vesvai’s Prime Minister to technically be overthrown in a revolution and walk away in disgrace. Another exception that singles Villano out from her predecessors is that she now also holds the record for the shortest Prime Minister term. Villano was Prime Minister only for nineteen days. Some would say that her unpopular far-left socialist economic policies would be another thing to single her out from predecessors in a wide list of things.

Villano’s announcement on social media contains a series of sensational announcements. They were already enough for the protesters to begin reacting to this as an early victory. But protest leader Adi Letago and commanders of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army called for restraint. The post could only be taken as her personal offer of resignation. But her statements about the cabinet and all AIT MPs resigning still had to be confirmed. It could have either been a diversion, Villano being booted and trying to take everyone down with her or even the possibility of her social media account being hacked. The protesters needed confirmation from cabinet members and AIT MPs that they were definitely leaving. Only after they started posting their personal resignation announcements did everyone beging rejoicing. Polvandet, other cabinet members and AIT MPs followed Villano’s style of announcing resignation on social media. Nobody was ready to face the public in person. As they were posting resignation announcement one by one protest leader Adi Letago was reading them off from his phone while on a stage with a microphone. Every resignation announcement was followed up with a cheer.

BREAKING: Protesters Celebrate Government’s Resignation: New Vesvai Is Now The Biggest Party In The Region But It's Not Quite Over Yet

New Vesvai is now in a state of mass celebration. The general strike has been called off and different acts of civil disobedience are ending. Those on a hunger strike have called it off fortunately and are rejoicing with others. The mass gathering of people on the streets of New Vesvai’s many cities have gone from protests to an equivalent of streets festivals where everyone has gathered to party. Protest leader Adi Letago said that the Silver Revolution has won and New Vesvai is now the biggest mass party in the region.

The resignation of government is something that all New Vesvaians have been calling for. But such an abrupt resignation also leaves New Vesvai more vulnerable. All top offices in the nation have been left empty. After the government’s resignation the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has rushed out of capital Perloveu and back towards the border with the Dominion of Vesvai. Many commanders have promised that the military will defend New Vesvai even without a government. Fresh off the protests citizens are announcing that they will join as volunteers in case of anything. And there is a reason for worry because hours before New Vesvai’s government’s resignation there have been some ambiguous news coming from the Dominion of Vesvai about the situation on the border. New Vesvai’s Prime Minister and Defense Minister have been holding meetings on a new military strategy at the border offered by Vesvai’s forces. These ambiguous news could mean anything and with New Vesvai now left without a government nobody is willing to take any risks.

New Vesvaians are celebrating but their work is not done yet. Protest leader Adi Letago has encouraged the demonstrators to head to the Supreme Court and influence to help form a new temporary government to fill the power vacuum left behind by AIT.

Why the Leatherback Sea Turtle though?

Why the Leatherback Sea Turtle though? Is the question that many visitors to Yanbad often ask upon hearing that the creature is the national animal of Yanbad. Less historically enlightened visitors often guess that the choice is based on the abundance of turtles on the shore, but it is in fact due to events caused by human rather than mother nature.

The Wars of the Rivers were a series of conflicts between supporters of the Hong and supporters of the Tay over control of Yanbad. During the initial phase of the conflict Hong forces were steadily pushed from their homeland in the interior to the coast by Tay forces. The reason for the Tay's success was in large part due to their superior naval forces which dominated the rivers throughout Yanbad. After a long retreat to the coast the leader of the Hong forces, Hong Anh Son, could not help but notice the Leatherback Sea Turtles along the shore. According to historian Qui Phuc the "unique shape of the turtles" inspired Hong Anh Son to issue orders for the creation of what he called the Turtle Boat and with it a daring attack plan to seize back the initiative.

Fortunately for Hong Anh Son, the Tay forces had over extended their supply lines and had to rest. The location they decided to rest at was the Soupi Bend, which was easily defensible from land attacks but was surrounded by water on three sides. To remedy this weakness to waterborne attacks, the Tay anchored their river boats off the coast of the bend. The Tay forces decided to rest for a few weeks in order to prepare for the final battle to push the Hong into the sea. The Tay decision to rest gave the Hong a much needed respite and more importantly time to craft the turtle boats. Hong Anh Son's scouts reported the Tay location to him and decided to divide his forces into two parts. The first group would utilize the new turtle boats and attack the Tay boats. The second group was ordered to attack the Tay positions defending the Soupi Bend. According to Qui Phuc, Hong issued the order to attack "when the moon was absent from the sky."

Phuc's described the battle as a "tremendous route of the Tay forces, they were completely surprised by the dual attack led by Hong Anh Son on land and the turtle boats on the river." The initial plan called for the land forces to attack first then have the turtle boats attack the Tay boats when the battle started. Fortunately the turtle boats reached the Tay ships before the land forces,completely unknown to Hong Anh Son. Phuc claimed "that the Tay boat crews mistook the turtle boats for actual turtles," as a result they ignored them until the fires started. The blaze that broke out throughout the Tay boats caused panic throughout their camp but more importantly was a sign for Hong Anh Son to change his tactics and attack the camp with the remainder of his forces.

The battle was a complete victory for the Hong who were able to seize the initiative from the battle to defeat the Tay forces and consolidate their rule over Yanbad. When Hong Anh Son took the throne of Yanbad after the war, he was called the Turtle King by his admirers. As a way to honor the animal that inspired his success, Hong Anh Son decreed that any harm done to animal was "punishable by death." Even after the revolution that overthrew the royal family Hong Anh Son's decree stayed in effect.

At 5:15pm on Wednesday, Princess Heir Sierra Everen-Abrams was rushed to the Acadia General Hospital. At 4:42am on Thursday, with the Rezuan Empress Ymira Everen-Abrams and first daughter Aria at her side, the world saw a new daughter born. It has finally been released that her name is Maia Juliet Everen-Abrams, coming in at a weight of 6 pounds, 4 ounces.

While Mss. Everen-Abrams will be remaining in an undisclosed wing of the hospital for a few more days to recover, it has already been confirmed that she will continue her maternity leave. It is still unconfirmed whether she will take the full 52-weeks allotted or return to work; at east partially, early.

Sierra did not wish to take any questions or make a comment about her new daughter, but did say that she will be back to the University of Acadia to finish her debate and discussion with the students as soon as she is able.

Princess Aria did comment when asked how she feels about people an elder sister. "I want a baby brother."

Rhodevus Congratulates New Vesvaian Protestors

While it is true to say that Rhodevus has not had a relationship; pleasant or otherwise with New Vesvai, the Rhodeve government has still been looking at the now concluded situation in the region with great interest. For a time, the situation looked like a potential powder keg, waiting for someone on either side to take the first shot.

Now that the situation is nearing a close, with great help from the New Vesvaian military, it can be seen that the events which led to the resignation of the AIT government were handled in a truly professional and peaceful manner.

For that, the Rhodeve government congratulated the people of New Vesvai, declaring it an incredible demonstration of what people can accomplish in the modern era without the use of violence.

But still the situation is ongoing. Thanks to the full resignation of the AIT led government, there is a large power vacuum left behind that needs to be filled. While the people of New Vesvai have turned to their Supreme Court for assistance, Rhodevus in a surprising turn of events, has publicly asked a different party to assist the people.

"It may come as a shock to most, but the Rhodeve government wishes to commend the people for handling the situation with their government with incredible professionalism, rarely seen around the globe. While this government also commends the people for looking to their Supreme Court for assistance, we ask that they also look towards their allies for help in running these first elections after such a tumultuous time.

"Rhodevus would ask of the proud people of New Vesvai to in turn ask their allies in Sunrisia and the MDAA as a whole for support in organizing and maintaining these crucial first elections. While Rhodevus and Sunrisia may not be the closest of allies, both nations often work towards the same goals; stability and safety in this hemisphere of Sunalaya. And so, while it is not needed and may not even be wanted, the Rhodeve government would support Sunrisia and the people of New Vesvai if they choose of their own accord to ask for assistance from Sunrisia and the MDAA and in turn accept it.

Supreme Court Orders The Opposition Parties To Establish A Transitional Government

The Supreme Court of New Vesvai has made a ruling that orders the opposition parties to form a transitional government. The opposition parties are collectively in a parliamentary minority. But the withdrawal of AIT from its parliamentary majority has only left the opposition parties in the Parliament. With this order of things the Supreme Court has ordered for the opposition parties to fill the empty space and not only take over the Parliament but form a transitional government. The opposition parties don’t hold the mandate to lead a government but with the exceptional situation they have now received legal permission to form a transitional government. This means that only will the opposition parties jointly run the Parliament with a number of MPs cut in more than half. This also means that the opposition parties will be responsible for forming a temporary cabinet and appointing an Acting Prime Minister. But the ruling by the Supreme Court strictly emphasizes that the government is only a transitional one. The temporary government will be responsible for passing a law at the Parliament that would call for a snap general election. The opposition parties now have a lot of responsibility but they have made it clear that they’re ready to take it on.

Protest Leader Adi Letago Thanks Moral Supporters At Home And Abroad

Protest leader Adi Letago is credited as the architect of the Silver Revolution. Not only did he coin the term but he led the entire effort and the entire strategy of the protest. After the Supreme Court ruling Letago took the stage one last time to congratulate fellow New Vesvaians on mutual historic success. He also briefly thanked moral supporters abroad including individual people and foreign nations. Letago did not single anyone out or name anyone. But he placed a special emphasis on Vesvaian expats who joined the Silver Revolution while being outside. Some of those Vesvaians may not even have any association with New Vesvai or weren’t even born there. And yet their Vesvaian genes inspired them to stand in solidarity with New Vesvai. Letago repeated a common statement that Vesvaians overseas look to New Vesvai with hope as one of the two existing Vesvaian states but the one that defends Vesvaian democracy and Vesvaian identity while the other does quite the opposite.

Premier Mikkelsen To Step Down Amid Growing Public Anger

---

Premier Mikkelsen has offered to step down amid growing calls for his abdication. With a growing mob outside the Premier's Residence in Walster and outside government offices across the country. With the mob denouncing the Premier's recent win at the polls as fraudulent and voicing displeasure at the Premier's new policies and the military and police either unwilling or intervene, many believe the Premier was backed into a corner. Mikkelsen has announced that he will be stepping down effective August 12th, and will leave public office entirely. This was followed by many of his closest supporters within the People's National Council, which many have seen as a removal of the Communist Hard-Liners within the government.

With the Premier's Abdication, a new leader would need to be either appointed or chosen. Shortly after the announcement by Premier Mikkelsen, the People's National Council announced that they would be handing power over the runner-up candidate, Councilman Kai Algren. However there are some who see the handover as problematic. Many do not believe Mr. Algren's margin of victory over his closest opponent, Thorborg Bjork. With only a difference of 0.5% between the two and the aforementioned claims of fraud, many are calling for a revote. This is despite Mr. Bjork's recent statement stating that he would recognize Mr. Algren as Premier effective immediately.

"We've been bogged down by political turmoil for long enough." Said Mr. Bjork. "It's better for us to consolidate the Premier's office in order to tackle a number of issues plaguing our country. While we tear ourselves apart squabbling about who's leading our country, the more the Republic continues to build up its forces and threaten our borders. By all means, we need to oust the tyrant that is Premier Mikkelsen, but we cannot get bogged down in another heated debate over the Premier's office a second time."

Despite the announcement of the Premier's abdication, the mobs that have been gripping the country have yet to disperse. Many are stating that Premier Mikkelsen's continued existence as Premier is unacceptable and that only his immediate abdication would be sufficient. "We can't trust this man." Said a protester, who wishes to remain anonymous. "He's already been caught lying through his teeth. How do we know that he won't renege on that promise come delivery date?"

Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation Franz Potesinan congratulates New Vesvaians on their revolution, Council of 3 Secretary General Joan Armbrüster speaks out too

Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan has reacted to the success of the Silver Revolution in New Vesvai. The Confederal Minister had sent his personal congratulations to the citizens of New Vesvai and personally praised protest leader Adi Letago for how he handled the situation. These days Confederal Minister Potesinan is in a different office and his mission focuses solely on handling the issue of territorial integrity and inter-nation disputes in Daredland. The Confederal Minister’s reaction goes outside of his competence because he is not among Daredi diplomats to give out such a reaction. But the reaction came from an honest place and what happened in New Vesvai just now hits close to home for Confederal Minister Potesinan and for Daredland.

Confederal Minister Potesinan was one of the leaders of the Flaming Revolution in Daredland that ousted a pan-Germanic and pro-Englean government that attempt to usurp power. Confederal Minister Potesinan was an Interim Chancellor of Daredland during the post-revolution transitional period. He was later elected President in Daredland’s pro-Western Corentian revolutionary government brought to power after the state elections that were held after the Flaming Revolution. The government led by the Pro-Liberty Front of a Western Corentian Daredland (PLFWCD) coalition held Daredi nationalist ideology and President at the time Franz Potesinan himself held and still holds those views. Potesinan’s party is named the Western Corentian Nationalists of Daredland (WCND) so it does not leave much ambiguity there. The PLFWCD-led revolutionary government of Daredland (with Franz Potesinan as President) was the first elected government of the Daredi Confederation after it was formed with the adoption of a new constitution. Daredi Confederation replaced the Daredi Confederacy. The PLFWCD-led revolutionary government moved Daredland in the direction of MDAA and SOWEFTA. This probably coupled with Daredi nationalism had worsened relations with the Englean state, Eastern Corentia and other nations. The PLFWCD-led revolutionary government achieved the status of associate member for Daredland in MDAA and SOWEFTA. But that government is in the past and Daredland today has a different government led by the Liberty Protection Movement (LPM). The LPM-led government is more moderate than the previous nationalist PLFWCD-led one.

Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation Franz Potesinan is still seen as a Daredi revolutionary and not just a politician so his role in Daredi history will be remembered as such. Franz Potesinan, as a Daredi revolutionary and not Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation of the Daredi Confederation, felt that he had to and wanted to say something about New Vesvai. The Confederal Minister said that he was rooting for New Vesvaians throughout their uprising and what was happening felt very familiar. Which is why he’s definitely happy about the success of the Silver Revolution in New Vesvai. Confederal Minister Franz Potesinan has wished New Vesvaians a bright future.

Secretary General of the Council of 3 Joan Armbrüster also reacted with congratulations to New Vesvaians on the triumph of the Silver Revolution. He said that this historical occurrence now bonded Daredland and New Vesvai even more than before. The Secretary General revealed that there plans by Daredi representatives in the Council of 3 to secretly negotiations with the representatives of West Zilveren Berg on booting New Vesvai out of the Council of 3. Or at least suspending the membership of New Vesvai in the Council of 3. The measure would have been in force until the situation in New Vesvai stabilizes or until the government of New Vesvai agrees to listen to its citizens. Secretary General Joan Armbrüster began considering this after the government of New Vesvai rejected his calls for negotiations and spoke out against any involvement by the Council of 3 in the crisis inside New Vesvai. But with the Silver Revolution over the Council of 3 will keep things as is and keep New Vesvai as a member. It is now expected that the old representatives of New Vesvai will be removed from the Council of 3 because they were serving under the ousted government. Either the transitional government of New Vesvai or the next elected government will have to send in new ones.

Capsland's Housing Crisis Enters it's Fifth Year

The government target for 125,000 new homes by the end of this parliament is expected to fall short significantly

Housing watchdog, Home Union, has criticised the government today for falling short of their promise of building new social housing since entering parliament.

Home Union criticised the government in it's annual housing report saying that there was "gross negligence in the planning and implementation of social housing across Capsland". It was Democracy Party policy to commit to building 25,000 new social housing each year mounting up to 125,000 new houses at the end of the current parliament in 2022. This policy was accepted by both the Popular Front and Christian Democrats when they entered into coalition in 2017. However, the Home Union report says that the government has failed to act accordingly in light of the housing policy. Further into the report, Home Union suggests that Capsland needs a further 1.7 million new houses in the next 20 years for young families in Capsland to find an adequate and affordable home.

It additionally condemned the prevalence of "predatory private rents" saying the worst states affected were Dellea and Woodcrest with average private rents up 70% on the national average. Currently in law each state has control of private rent controls, Dellea and Woodcrest currently have some of the most relaxed rent control laws in Capsland allowing for private rents to surge in areas. Home Union called for a parliamentary committee to be set up to examine rent control laws and to harmonise the laws nationally, creating national legislation that would force the states to adjust rent control measures to fit nationally.

Housing minister, Kurt Michael (DP), said the report was "exaggerative" and "baseless in some places" however he also acknowledged that the report highlighted a clear problem currently in the housing market. "Government policy is to empower states and local authorities to build the housing needed in their areas. The government has set aside 3 billion purely to hire housing contractors to help build the necessary social homes. Relaxing red tape around planning laws, empowering local authorities and pumping funds into development are our top priorities and we are expected to meet targets at the end of parliament in 2022." the housing minister said in a statement to RCBC.

Convet Approves Lifting Of Individual Sanctions Against The Overthrown Government Of New Vesvai: President Válîd Sâlúbĕr Issues A Statement On The Revolution In New Vesvai

The Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia has voted in favor of lifting individual sanctions against the government of New Vesvai and those associated with it, which has just been overthrown in a revolution, which has come to be known as the Silver Revolution, following the trend of the so-called “color revolutions.” Speaker of the Convet Prémăs Dîcéra announced the successful passage of the vote with a majority. The legislation on removing individual sanctions against the now-overthrown government of New Vesvai and those associated with it, did not have as much consensus as the legislation that originally imposed those same individual sanctions. There was more unanimity in that original vote. Those who withheld their vote or voted against, explained that even after resigning or being removed from office, the officials of the deposed government should remained sanctioned as individuals, because they could still be threatening figures that could have more current and future schemes in their disposition.

The passed legislation authorizing the lifting of individual sanctions against the overthrown government of New Vesvai and those associated with it, has gone to the desk of President Válîd Sâlúbĕr to be signed into law. Afterwards, the President decided to say a couple of words himself on the outcome of the situation in New Vesvai, rather than leaving it up to the Department of International Relations for official statements:

“With this peaceful and successful uprising that has led to regime change, the people of New Vesvai have proven themselves to be free people. They will not accept enslavement by a leadership or regime that lies to them, uses and abuses them. Free people have reminded a non-representative and conspiring leadership, which wanted to take them to war, torture them and others, as well as strip away their democracy, that the country of New Vesvai belongs to those free people who have not staid indifferent and went out into the streets.

With this decisive, intense, but ultimately glorious chapter having been added to the history of their young nation, the New Vesvaian people now have a great responsibility. That responsibility is to build a new, evolving, flourishing and truly democratic New Vesvai under the guidance of new generations of politicians and with a vision of a bright future. New Vesvaian people must finish dismantling the old system, part of which was the toppling of the AIT-led government that we had witnessed. The old system was still a piece of legacy from the days of unity with the Dominion of Vesvai and ultimately something inherited from the Dominion of Vesvai itself, disguised as a democracy or a conglomerate of greater ideas. The now-deposed leadership in New Vesvai and now-former officials from that leadership were from the products of the same system as the government in the Dominion of Vesvai.

However, as New Vesvai dismantles the old system and builds a new one not some much on top of the old one’s ruins, but even on newly-created foundation, New Vesvai can truly become a country it was originally declared to be – a land of hope for all Vesvaians in the world. Although bordering another Vesvaian state on the north, New Vesvai will be the one that all Vesvaians around the world, including in the Dominion of Vesvai, will look to as a perfectly realized vision of what a Vesvaian sovereign state should be. The street phase of the Silver Revolution is complete, but the Silver Revolution must continue on to achieve those goals and build a country that New Vesvai had originally declared itself as aspiring to be. Congratulations to the New Vesvaian people and I hope they will achieve just that.”

Opposition-Led Parliament Appoints Raio Foranel As Acting Prime Minister

The opposition parties left over at New Vesvai’s Parliament have formed a temporary governing coalition by yesterday’s order from the Supreme Court. New Vesvai now has a legitimate constitutionally created transitional government led by the political opposition. Democratic Progressives, People’s Power Party, United Conservatives, Nationalist Bloc, Pro-Independence Coalition and other opposition parties have formed a coalition. Ideologically many of these opposition parties are incompatible and would not be likely to form a coalition or political alliance under other circumstances. But now they have not only a Supreme Court order but also a moral and patriotic responsibility to join forces and get the nation through a transition after a revolution.

The first thing that the Parliament had to do is fill the most important office in the nation before doing anything else. After the resignation of Beana Villano as Prime Minister the office of the head of government has remained vacant. It has been vacant for almost more than two days now. The head of state has technically been Head Administrator Andre Tilicome whose position is only ceremonial. The Parliament has settled on a member of the Nationalist Bloc as a temporary head of government. Raio Foranel from the Nationalist Bloc has been appointed Acting Prime Minister. The parties were fighting each other to push their members into the position of Prime Minister. But Foranel surprisingly won even the rivals over because he projected the image of strength, inspiration, decisiveness and leadership. He was seen as the kind of head of state that New Vesvai needs during a transition and in the face of threat from the Dominion of Vesvai.

Snap General Election Declared For The Near Future

The next order of business that the Parliament was required to do was declare an early general election in New Vesvai for a new chosen government to replace the overthrown AIT one. A bill was passed declaring the snap general election in New Vesvai. The precise date was not announced but the election is expected to be held this fall in the latest. The opposition parties will have to balance being part of a transitional government and also running their campaigns for the snap general election if they decide to run. Any successes of the transitional government could be campaign wins in themselves for the parties involved in the transitional government.

Temporary Cabinet Under Formation

The office of Prime Minister has now been filled by Acting PM Raio Foranel. The next task for the transitional government is now to appoint a temporary cabinet where resigned ministers would be replaced with acting ministers. This may be the longest part in the transitional government’s current schedule of things to do. It could especially be slowed down if the parties within the transitional coalition struggle to come to an agreement. The problem is that this is also the only government New Vesvai now has and this temporary Parliament cannot be dissolved. Analysts think that in extreme cases the governing of New Vesvai could be taken over by the Supreme Court or even the military if this transitional government fails to function. So people are putting a lot of hope into the opposition-run transitional government.

UIN tower conversion into new project begins, project seeks USA endorsement

With the end of the United Intelligence Network late last month, the Tonnes skyline was left with a prominent and empty government building. Congress debated over the building's future with ideas to donate it to the city of Tonnes, demolish it, or sell it all on the table. However, on Monday, Representative Mckell Nichols (P-Oceansaido) introduced the World Diplomatic Tower Core Establishment Bill which passed last night in both the Senate (34-1) and House (139-53). This act gifted the tower to the international community as a "neutral meeting ground for all entities other than military and intelligence such as governments, corporations, organizations, and individuals for peaceful purposes with no ties or bonds to international binding rules, agreements, treaties, charters, resolutions, laws, or courts" The only caveat to this is the WDT Charter, which signatories must sign in order to use the building which asks these signatories to respect the land as a neutral meeting ground, treat it as if it were an embassy, and not use it for acts of terrorism and crimes towards human nature. No rules will cover meetings.

The WDT will not act as an alternative to the United Sunalayan Assembly but merely an addition to the diplomatic options international actors have, as the WDT will not have a general assembly or official members, just signatories to use WDT services. The services the tower will have is permanent office space for signatory entities should they want it, conference space for use in diplomacy/meetings, a movie theater, auditoriums, a culture museum, and indoor diplomatic pool, hotel services, food services, a Ventismarian Union Customs station, fast track service to Tonnes International Airport, a football field, and a garden. Businesses may also use several dedicated floors to use to provide their services/sell their products.

Renovations to the building have been underway since the building closed, however more renovations are needed to make the WDT a reality and it will be late September before work is expected to be completed. In the mean time, entities wishing to sign the WDT Charter and use the building and/or ask for permanent office space may do so at www.wdtc.org.

Federal Police Arrest Drug Lord Diego Farfan

Federal Police busted the home of drug lord Diego Farfan this morning after the National Bureau of Investigations linked him to D-99, the largest gang in the country. This comes after years of trying to connect Farfan to various crimes like murder, kidnapping and international drug trafficking, among others. It is said that Farfan is responsible for 38 percent of all cocaine trafficking and 22 percent of all meth to the Ventismarian Union. He is set to face trail later this month.

D-99 remains extremely dangerous and only time will tell if Farfan's arrest will start war between the government and D-99 or if it will undermine the organization so the Federal Police can capture and detain the remain leaders of the gang. The government has sent out lists of notable suspects to neighboring nations in order to prevent the leaders of the gang from escaping.

Farfan's lawyer has yet to comment on anything regarding how Farfan will plead and say during the trail stating that "it's the early stage of this whole thing, we cannot reasonably expect Farfan to have come up with a defense or know what actions he will take"
