The victory of AIT was widely celebrated in New Vesvai and other parts of the island including the VHU-administered parts. Pro-AIT celebratory demonstrations were unavailable on the streets of Vesvai’s major cities because of the strict anti-protest law. But in New Vesvai the situation was completely different. Masses rejoiced on the streets and at home while the sky was being painted in fireworks. Joyful reactions also came from Vesvaian diaspora living in various countries in Corentia. In Vesvai vocal anti-government activists and members of various underground movements said that the election in New Vesvai was a celebration for the entire island nation. According to them that is because AIT was supposed to win Vesvai’s general election but VHU had rigged votes in its’ favor. Many former political prisoners recently released by the order of the VHU-led government, had congratulated New Vesvai with a truly democratic election. Other parties in opposition to the current government and VHU’s authoritarian monopoly have expressed congratulatory wishes too. Average citizens are sharing plans to move to New Vesvai before a DMZ is built between two halves of the island.
AIT will now have to be forming a new concurrent government in New Vesvai. Candidates for the post of Prime Minister are multiple. The “leaders” or the more prominent politicians of the parties that form the AIT coalition are not candidates for the post of concurrent PM. That is because they have not moved to New Vesvai and continue their opposition politician activities in the rest of Vesvai as adversaries of the ruling VHU. Along with the concurrent PM of New Vesvai, the MPs will also have to appoint the Head Administrator. This is a position created in New Vesvai as a replacement for the Governor-General office. The leadership of New Vesvai says that the position of the Head Administrator, unlike that of Governor-General, is not linked to the Rhodeve Crown which is why it will be a permanent substitute. The candidates for the position of the Head Administrator of New Vesvai are also many just like for the Prime Minister.
The VHU-led government in Aurisi has rejected the election as illegal and unconstitutional. Vesvai’s central government has refused to recognize its’ results and claims that the ruling VHU party remains the only legitimate central government of all of Vesvai as was decided in the last nationwide general election and later reiterated by the Supreme Court. PM Jonathan Mollisal was more quiet this time around and allowed other members of his party to critique the election in New Vesvai. The Prime Minister is hinting that he wants to avoid messing up a warm-up reached with the Western Corentians. PM Mollisal was apparently seriously scolded by his fellow party members behind closed doors.
