Oculus is disbanded and no longer a threat, concludes intelligence

Image

Edereon-based terrorist group Oculus is no longer in existence or poses a threat. That is a conclusion made by Ederi intelligence with cooperation from the Sunrisian intelligence. The group no longer has a known presence in Edereon or anywhere else. The government still maintains the position that Oculus was completely terminated during the Ederi War of Liberation, which is one of the names of the last armed conflict in Edereon with MDAA intervention. Intelligence agencies say that they will still remain on the watch for any terrorist groups on an international level. The generals of the Ederi Royal Armed Forces say that the military will be prepared should Oculus ever return or should terrorists ever emerge. The current interest of the Ederi intelligence is to know if Oculus was a spawn of the Bannerless Brotherhood, had links to BB or was independent, but somehow supported by BB.

PM Matthew Praeterit Travels To Sunrisia To Renegotiate TPA For A Second Time And Sign New Version

The government of Vesvai is backtracking on its course again. PM Matthew Praeterit has once again travelled to Sunrisia for a 2 day trip to meet with President Nóv Fáustîtár and renegotiate the Trade Promotion Agreement for a second time. VHU-led government said it wants TPA back in its original form or maybe even upgraded for Vesvai’s and Sunrisia’s economic benefit. Before leaving, PM said at the Parliament: “We have reviewed that the renegotiated version of TPA between Vesvai and Sunrisia is not beneficial to us nor Sunrisia. Since we had agreed to stop dropping tariffs, we have continued high trade flow, but we have been paying more for the goods and other services than under the original treaty. We have tried to be in solidarity with our Dogmanan brothers and made changes to the trade deal. That was our response to Sunrisian tariffs against our allies. But the deal we have now is not working out. It’s not just about national interests. We have values, but this show of solidarity is not working for anybody and the deal must be brought back to normal. Which is why I will once again travel to Sunrisia to meet with President Nóv Fáustîtár. We will be working to renegotiate the deal to its original form or make it even more beneficial. Our allies in ROVAA and family in the Rhodeve Commonwealth might not like this gesture, but this will be one of the tough pills they will have to swallow. We have seen them frequently engage with MDAA countries and build cooperative relationships with whom possible. Aznazia still has not ended its Pivot to Corentia. Vesvai has identical rights to follow our interests. Vesvai is ready to open dialogue and create partnership with more MDAA and Corentian countries, something we had put off before. But Vesvai still remains committed to ROVAA, Rhodeve Commonwealth, Dogmanan security and prosperity.”

The government under the ruling VHU party were originally fierce opponents of a trade deal with Sunrisia. It was being presented as something that the Opposition wanted and achieved. The controversial election and the situation in Vesvai has changed things. Now that same government wants to return the treaty to its original stage, maybe negotiate a better one. That is a complete 180 flip. But it is not the first flip for the government, probably will not be the last and the reasons are clear. They have started to see negative effects on Vesvai’s economy and VHU is trying to score points among the angry public by swaying between ROVAA/Rhodeve Commonwealth and MDAA. Calling it swaying is still difficult because Vesvai is not a neutral state, but a full committed member of ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth.

VHU members of Parliament told journalists that PM Matthew Praeterit will try to achieve that tariffs start dropping with Sunrisia again. In the meantime, the same high trade flow would stay. It might even grow, if tariffs are low, rhythmically speaking. VHU members say that maybe PM will achieve for tariffs to be dropping even faster than before. But complete free trade with Sunrisia is ruled out, because Vesvai will not become a crack in the common market of ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth. PM’s trade proposal will probably be something very close to free trade, but with small remaining tariff limitations.

The protesting public, opposition parties and other parties among them, said they will not be affected by cheap tricks. Old political games have become transparent long ago. Demonstrations will continue over insisted election rig. As days have gone by, protests had been growing in number around Vesvai. The election rig investigation that the government ordered has not given any updates yet.

Eubatu Retires Military Vehicles

The Eubatian Navy and Army have chosen to retire one of Eubatu's 5 Patrol Vessels and 4 of Eubatu's 14 Armoured Fighting Vehicles. The reason; Eubatu needs the money. Eubatu is a country with more than half a million people and a GDP of 17 Billion NSD. The cost of education, healthcare and the government combined from last year totaled 11.72 Billion NSD or 69% if the GDP. The military, while only accounting for 0.21% of the GDP has often been considered an unneeded expense.

"The money put into maintaining the ship and the AFVs and teaching our soldiers and police how to operate them can easily be better spent on our infrastructure. A seriously underfunded percentage of our government at only 1.3% spending. We have hoped to increase our infrastructure budget to the Council of Engineers' recommended budget of 2.4% by 2018, but we are still lacking the funds, as our expenses for energy generation and healthcare increase. The Council of Science and Medicine will be looking into ways of reducing the cost of healthcare while the Council of Diplomacy will work to continue reducing the cost of our military."

Eubatu's government has often spoken out about the risks of improper government spending, in regards to the changing climate. With the potential hurricane heading towards Ventismar, if a hurricane of a similar magnitude were to hit the small island nation, an estimated 60% of the buildings and 74% of the industry could be destroyed.

Improved Sunrisia–Vesvai Trade Promotion Agreement Signed: President Nóv Fáustîtár Warned Vesvai’s Officials Of Individual Sanctions In Advance, Over Rigged Election

President Nóv Fáustîtár is hosting Prime Minister Matthew Praeterit of Vesvai in Aestin, who has come to Sunrisia for a trip that would last 2 days. The state visit is expected to cover a lot of ground in bilateral relations, but the focus is on the Sunrisia–Vesvai Trade Promotion Agreement. The treaty was signed between Sunrisia and Vesvai a while ago, much to the dismay of Vesvai’s government and pleasure of Vesvai’s opposition. Unsurprisingly, the deal eventually came under fire by the initiative of the Vesvaian government, which found itself a pretext to do so. Vesvai had announced a decision to review economic relations with Sunrisia over the tariff controversy with Dogmana and the trade deal was targeted. The Vesvaian Prime Minister came to Aestin for a second time, where he signed a renegotiated agreement with President Fáustîtár. The new version of the agreement stopped the tariff drop, but kept the same high trade flow, which was in advance not viewed as something that would be beneficial for either of the signatory countries. Now, Prime Minister Praeterit is in Aestin for a third time over the same deal, with his government changing position on the treaty and being to one to initiate another review of it.

It is unclear whether the government of Vesvai saw the negative effects of the renegotiated agreement or if the Prime Minister is trying to satisfy the anti-government protesters in Vesvai, which are leaning towards the opposition and other parties. It could be all options at once. Sunrisian economists say that the second version of the Trade Promotion Agreement was a bad deal, because a high trade flow and immovable tariffs was a black hole for the national budget, for Sunrisia and likely for Vesvai. Even though Vesvai’s side initiated the beneficial economic dialogue, the Fáustîtár administration warned in advance that Sunrisia was planning to sanction the current government of Vesvai for electoral fraud in the country and thus for undermining democracy. President Nóv Fáustîtár has been talking to the members of the Convet about individual sanctions on Vesvai. The Sunrisian side emphasized that it had issued a warning to Vesvai’s officials in advance, so that they would not consider themselves tricked after coming to Sunrisia and renegotiating the deal. It was from that point on that the Vesvaian leadership could decide if they wanted for a relationship with Sunrisia to prosper, because the Sunrisian government was willing to bend the trade deal as well, as a sanction for Vesvai’s internal anti-democratic developments. The Vesvaian side wanted to talk over the Trade Promotion Agreement anyway, which is why President Fáustîtár issued an invitation for Prime Minister Praeterit and his delegation to come to Sunrisia.

In a person meeting, the Sunrisian President and the Vesvaian Prime Minister had members of their governments present, along with advisors. Economic officials were especially engaged. The leaders renegotiated and signed a third draft of the Sunrisia–Vesvai Trade Promotion Agreement, which both agree is not just better than the second one, but surpasses the original agreement. Not only would trade tariffs be dropping once again, but they would be dropping annually in a much faster pace, until they reach the point barely above no tariffs, bordering free trade, but not actually switching to free trade. A press representative for the government stated:

We are not going to lie that the Sunrisian government views it as a positive development that Vesvai has taken a different path and decided not to harm its economic relations with our country to show solidarity with its Dogmanan neighbors, who we believe overreacted in relation to tariff increase. Sunrisia has equalized its trade flow with many parts of the world, so there is nothing to take offense of. But to also speak objectively, we agree with the position of the Vesvaian government that damaging the Trade Promotion Agreement as a symbolic gesture towards Vesvai’s partners was not working out for anybody, so it was pointless. And the government also supports the statement by Prime Minister Matthew Praeterit that just like Aznazia, Rhodevus and other countries had been engaging with MDAA states or other countries in the world, Vesvai also has the right to develop relationships with whichever countries they want. They are not a secondary sidekick to anyone.

After a new and improved draft of the Sunrisia–Vesvai Trade Promotion Agreement was signed, the Convet assembled a session to ratify it, in order for it to go into force, replacing the current deal. Sunrisian Minister of Finance and Economic Development Pârsīn Sîlvá repeated his traditional rhetoric of how hard will Sunrisian customs and border control be working in order to make sure that the goods from the common market of ROVAA or the Rhodeve Commonwealth do not try to sneak into the Sunrisian market using Vesvai’s treaty benefits. The tariff drop would only be applying to Vesvaian imports. For bilateral justice, the Minister said that Vesvai will hopefully also respect its ROVAA and Commonwealth partners and not transit Sunrisian imports into their common markets with no tariffs by placing a Vesvaian label on them. Admittedly Sunrisia would win with this economically, but our country has no interest of cheating or scamming, according to the Department of Finance and Economic Development. We believe in mutual respect.

Since the representatives of Vesvai would be present in Sunrisia for 2 days, the President’s administration will likely use the remaining time to engage with Vesvaian leadership as the messenger of ROVAA. Minister of Security Armăs Fórtídâ might meet with Prime Minister Matthew Praeterit to talk about toning down hostile rhetoric and keeping MDAA and ROVAA exercises from acting as rival war games that are destabilizing international security. Nevertheless, despite the Sunrisian government willing to have a productive engagement with the visiting Vesvaian government, the Fáustîtár administration was also brutally honest by stating that Sunrisia would not refrain from imposing individual sanctions on Vesvai’s officials for alleged electoral fraud and until the crisis in the country is resolved. Minister of International Relations Ectrăr Álienan, who was present at one of the meetings, gave more detailed insight to the media:

We were close and upfront with the Vesvaians. We had agreed to fix trade and discuss security, but we also told them up front that Sunrisia would act in response to what is happening in Vesvai right now. The President told that to Prime Minister Praeterit, I told it to my Vesvaian counterpart responsible for the foreign affairs of that country. We warned them in advance during this current visit, being in the same room with them and we told them before they came here by talking through other channels. We told them what Sunrisia sees as going on in Vesvai right now.

The election has taken place, millions are protesting because they’re sure it was rigged, while the government throws insults at them and brushes off their opinion. Prior to the election, they were trying to hint that the protesters and the opposition were working as foreign agents. That type of conspiracy theory mentality is common among dictators and power-hungry autocrats, but not leaders of a democratic country. I am sure some of Vesvai’s opposition politicians had said that too and we totally agree with this statement. The government of Vesvai tried hinting towards the same point after they had formally won the election, but seeing the public’s attitude, they withheld, because things could have gone wrong. Or maybe they just made proper conclusions and learned from mistakes. Now they have launched their own investigation into the alleged electoral fraud, which Sunrisia hopes will be genuine. Until this crisis passes, Sunrisia will be imposing individual sanctions on Vesvaian officials for damaging their country’s democracy. When so many people are protesting and claiming the same, it’s hard to believe they are all lying. This is the least Sunrisia could do to hopefully somehow influence the crisis resolution processes in Vesvai to actually be in motion, rather than be imitated or used as a cover-up. Right now the people are protesting peacefully and the authorities are not using force against them. We hope things will stay that way, otherwise we will be forced to move beyond just individual sanctions against Vesvai’s officials.

The President’s administration, my Department, the cabinet and the government have warned Vesvai’s leadership of individual sanctions in advance and yet they had still decided to come to Sunrisia. We had informed them of individual sanctions during their visit too, just to be sure. Probably the economic interests prevailed and they decided to accept restrictions in order to achieve a better trade agreement. Sunrisia was willing to refrain from reviewing from the Trade Promotion Agreement, probably even agreeing to temporarily suspend or withdraw from it. We wouldn’t have felt comfortable actively trading with the country, where such injustice is happening as in Vesvai right now. In this case, we were willing to sacrifice interests in favor of values. The government sees us as having found a middle ground.

In the same session, the Convet will be ratifying the new version of the Sunrisia–Vesvai Trade Promotion Agreement, as well as voting on individual sanctions against Vesvaian officials linked to electoral fraud and current unrest in the country.

Recent Happening in Parliament: Possible Calvan Sanctions, Surisian Deal Fell Through, and Bank of Belantica,
Recently, Parliament had been busy discussing issues that many Belanticans are concerned about, as well as regards to recent actions in other nations. The three main issues at hand is the recent targeting of the Bank of Belantica in Zivleren Berg, Calava threatening it's neighbors, and the now dead Sunrisian trade agreement, all of which involved long sessions of meeting between MPs and senators. Many of these have a form of impact on Belantica. Starting with the situation involving Zilveren Berg and the Bank of Belantica, Parliament stressed it's concerns over the issues, citing it as "harmful to relations between both nations". Furthermore, many Senators discussed the matter of how this will impact business and diplomacy. Senator Julie Clements stated that "Belantica already said that we would uphold any agreement they wish to keep, but it seems the government in Zilveren Berg has no interest in uphold any with Belantica. We see this as they could possibly be making attempts to close off from the rest of the world, which could lead to a disaster in today's globalized economy." At this point, Parliament is debating whether or not to continue to recognize past agreements, depending on how their government responds. It's clear that Belantica wants to keep positive relations, but it also feels that the new government of Zilveren Berg may become hostile towards the nation and her allies.

Moving on to Calava, which has recently threatened one of their neighbors, New Toola, Parliament has taken a stance that it "will not tolerate" such threats against peaceful nations, and says that it's a "sure way" of destroying international relations with many nations."I really don't know what to say about this," quoted MP Davis Niemer, "for one, making threats towards a peaceful nation is quite low by international standards, and proves that they are possibly untrustworthy." Parliament says that they will be reaching out to New Toola, much like Aznazia, to help with defense and economic prosperity in the case that it does get attacked. MPs also debated, and still have not decided, whether or not to label Calva as a "rouge state" and implement sanctions on military equipment and raw materials, stating that "any rouge nations should not be given the tools to create widespread destruction". Parliament has, however, decided that if Calva wishes to become for pacifist in it's foreign policies, then the table for negotiations will remain open, but if Calva counties to make threats, such a chance would be slim

Finally regard Sunrisia, after nearly 3 weeks of debating, discussing, and collecting opinions of voters, Parliament finally came about a decision on a trade deal, which which it had fell through. Parliament decided to scrap the trade proposal, stating that "Many feel that this deal would become unfair in a few ways or another." Their citing for why this deal could be "unfair" is simple, the market in Sunrisia has raised too many questions. One of their reasons is that "Belantica's free market is set up in such a way where competition is expected, and nobody gets an unfair advantage. We feel that Sunrisan countries would ask for an unfair advantage, such is reduced taxes or restricting domestic ones, which would be in violation of our market laws." Also relating to markets, many Belantic officials do not have enough information on the Sunrisian markets, saying that "since we do not know how it exactly works, many business professionals here are very cautious, was they feel that in Sunrisia, our business would be undermined by their domestic companies." They said that if a deal is going to go through, then it's expected that both parties would "need a level playing field, and let the markets decided what to buy and sell." Currently, there has been no response from Sunrisia over the matter of this potential deal being scrapped over uncertain elements, but a quick response is being expected.

Silver Mountain Daily
Chairmen responds to Belantica
Chairmen Mathias has responded to Belantican objections to the nationalization of Bank of Belantica assets. In his response he claimed the actions taken by him were justified by the actions undertaken by the Bank of Belantica that went against the interests of the people and nation of Zilvern Berg. Mathias also made vague claims of potential funding given to "counter-revolutionary" elements by the Bank. He closed his speech saying that while Zilvern Berg will not back down from the nationalization reparations for those who had stakes in the bank were not out of the question.

The speech has not been well received by radical groups within the State Council these groups dubbing themselves as "Internationalists" accused the Chairmen of capitulation to bourgeoisie powers. While more overt protests have been silenced by party officers it has shown a rift between Mathias and the more radical of his supporters.

This has been the Silver Mountain Daily, more on the stories as they develop.

MAJOR MAYORAL ELECTION UNDERWAY IN NAPOLI AS PRIMARIES DRAW TO A CLOSE

Image
Whig MP Shirley Mullen (left) and Federalist Professor Walter Doyle (right) defied expectations and won their party's respective nominations

NAPOLI - The Napoli mayoral election party primaries have come to an end and the political world in New Toola has been shaken considerably. Both major party candidates that have won their party's respective nomination have defied consistent polling showing their eventual defeats on primary election night.

The Federalist Party nominee is an economics professor by the name of Walter Doyle. Professor Doyle has been a visible figure in Napoli politics for some time among left-wing circles but all prior polling put his competitor, MP James Walton, in a considerable lead. MP Watson had the public support of Prime Minister Harold Palmer, who had fundraiser with MP Watson, and other prominent mainstream members of the Federalist Party. Professor Doyle had secured the endorsement of former Prime Minister Benjamin Rutledge, who is considered the most left-wing prime minister in New Toolan history. Many media outlets credit the recent negative press attention surrounding the issue with Calvan aggression and both growing unemployment and growing inflation as the reasons behind the shocking defeat. The Palmer Ministry has been relatively quiet after the defeat of their preferred candidate but have announced that Professor Doyle has the full support of the Federalist Party.

The primary results for the Whig Party were perhaps even more shocking as MP Shirley Mullen pulled out a surprising victory over tech mogul Brian Fitzgerald. Polls indicated that the conservative-backed Fitzgerald would trounce the establishment-backed Mullen. Mr. Fitzgerald had already received the nomination of major conservative Whigs like Shadow State Minister Beverly Vane and Shadow Defense Minister Edward Prescott along with the support from grassroots conservative movements. Mr. Fitzgerald had also pledged to bankroll his own campaign and spent triple the amount as the Mullen Campaign. MP Mullen had received the support of Whig Leader David Watson and other members of the establishment. The support of the establishment had been considered a liability for MP Mullen throughout the campaign but support for Fitzgerald over disparaging comments made about New Toolan aborigines along with a bump in support the Watson Shadow Ministry over its handling of Calvan aggression have been attributed to the shocking victory for MP Mullen.

MP Shirley Mullen leads in the Napoli Mayoral Election according to recent polling giving her a 54-46 edge over Professor Walter Doyle. Pundits attribute the lead to both the solid name recognition MP Mullen has developed over the years and an overall 52-48 edge for the Whigs over the Federalists in national polling. The Napoli Mayoral Election coincides with national local elections across the country. Whigs are expected to perform well in those upcoming elections as a major test for David Watson and his continued leadership of the Whigs. Much is also on the line for Prime Minister Harold Palmer as the upcoming elections will also be seen as a major test for his continued stewardship of the nation. Time will tell who will emerge victorious.

Hurricane Joshua strengthened to a Category 4 storm yesterday afternoon. It was expected to lose significant strength before making landfall, but new information from the PWS is leading many to think otherwise. Waters off Royal Island, the northern most of Pantorrum's large western islands, are unusually warm for the season. The warm water is expected to fuel the storm as it continues to move toward the Pantorran Coast as the most powerful storm to ever hit the Centismar. Joshua has sustained wind speeds of 139 miles per hour and continues to gain significant strength. By the time it makes landfall on Royal Island, it will likely have sustained wind speeds of 147 miles per hour. Meteorologists are hoping that the eye of the storm passes over the island, helping to weaken the massive cyclone. The PWS has issued a notice that the storm, regardless of its landfall on Royal Island, will make a 2nd landfall in mainland Pantorrum with sustained wind speeds of at least 135 mph, with gusts up to 155 mph.

Joshua has continued to prove incredibly difficult to anticipate. The hurricane was originally forecasted to make land fall as a Category 3 Storm at most, but he has outperformed anything expected of such a rare cyclone. Damage estimates, with the storms new power in mind, are now well over anything predicted before. The Army and police forces have assisted in the mandatory evacuation of 80% of the costal area's population, with some people having to be removed by force for their own safety. Early estimates indicate that the evacuation will not be complete by the time the storm arrives, and some 140,000 civilians could be stuck in counties that will receive Category 4 winds. Reports from police of early looting have already been coming in from seemingly abandoned towns, with hundreds of thousands of homes empty. 47 people have been arrested in the last 6 hours who were caught looting by local police.

The storm may have already claimed its first casualties. A small oiler ship failed to reply via radio to naval inquiries as to its location. The ship was suppose to return to port yesterday, but never checked in. The ship was expected to barely arrive before the storm, with little more than a day to spare. Search and Rescuers fear the worst for the vessels 16 crewmen. The ship was owned by Liquiplex, who had decided that the oil onboard was to important to delay its arrival. Some are blaming the massive Corporation for the possible deaths of the men, who's last known location was passed over by Hurricane Joshua 3 hours ago. The company may face lawsuits from the family members if the ship is lost, something that would only serve to put Liquiplex at a disadvantage in the Supreme Court. We continue to hope for the best in regards to the survival of all the men lost at sea.

Aside from the lone Oiler, almost all ocean traffic has been delayed for an indefinite amount of time. The usually busy Pantorran Waters look dead and empty as cargo vessels from around the world are turned away to avoid the hurricanes path. The effect on the economy, aside from its projected 90 Billion Pantorran Dollar cost, is truly unmeasurable. Imports will be weeks behind schedule by the time commerce resumes. The President's hard work fixing the economy may need to start again when the storm finally passes by.
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again- Etienne de Grellet du Mabillier

Parliament Condemns Calva, Promises Pantorrum Aid

National Inquiry

Troubles abound as the Calvan government threatens New Toola with nuclear and chemical warfare over a precised slight. Without any cause to do so, the Calvan government held a military parade to "remind New Toola of its place". Rezua and Calva have an odd respect after there was limited Calvan aid to Rezuan troops in the Civil War of 2010, also known as the Second Rezuan Civil War. This respect, however, is often strained and results in further meetings with Calvan officials. Sometimes in the past, Calva had good intentions that needed to somewhat redirected. This is not one of those cases.

Parliament has outright condemned Calva for such aggressive actions and has declared their threat of nuclear war "deplorable". Nuclear war is never tolerable for Rezua, as Parliament displayed with their recent dealings with POD, warning the nation to not use nuclear weapons in their war. In this case, Rezua has decided to ask New Toolan leaders to come to Rezua to discuss how the two nations might work together. The same offer was made to Calva, except it is excepted to be more of a rephrasing of what Rezua will tolerate and not tolerate with Calva if they wish to keep friendly relations with the empire.

On a much different note, despite icily relations, Parliament has pledged to aid Pantorrum through Hurricane Joshua. This decision came at a 35% against, 60% for and 5% undecided. For the 40% that were against or unsure, the leading feeling was that the government of Pantorrum has called Rezua's governing system "pathetic" "ineffective" and "useless". This opinion, however, did not seem to stop 60% of Parliament deciding to give close to 10 million Rusigs in humanitarian aid as a showing of not only good will, but pure intentions.

Rezuan military and civilian helicopters have been pledged to evacuating Pantorim citizens should the government agree. The RIN Augustus Everen has been deployed to lend its own aircraft to this promise as well. In addition, Rezuan Naval Fleets patrolling north of Kurzera or travelling in international waters will redirect to Pantorrum in order to act as hospitals or evacuation sites after the storm strikes. The final offer is the deployment of anywhere from 100 to 2,000 Rezuan Urban Police to assist in keeping law and order after the storm. Rezuan officials have asked that looting not be performed during this tragedy.

Vesvai Crisis: Ruling VHU Disintegrating, Authorities Splitting Up, NGOs Rising, Media Resisting

PM Matthew Praeterit and VHU-led government said that there was nothing scary about Sunrisian individual sanctions against Vesvai’s officials. The important thing to Vesvai’s leaders are the economic interests of Vesvai and that is why their personal freedoms can be sacrificed for them. Sunrisia might be closed to Vesvai’s officials after the state visit there is over, but the rest of the world will still be open. Vesvai had just renegotiated and signed a very beneficial trade deal with Sunrisia anyway. That is what mattered to Vesvai’s leadership all along. A fellow Rhodeve Commonwealth member of Belantica has just expressed interest in building closer ties with Vesvai. In the meantime, Vesvai is still interested in growing partnership with other MDAA states and the rest of the world. PM and the government are focusing on Vesvai’s victories and they say that Vesvai is making many victories already. More winning is to come, according to them.

Back at home, things are not going so well. The protests of millions cannot keep going without affecting Vesvai’s normal existence. Things are especially bad for VHU. The ruling party has begun falling apart. Members are leaving the party and announcing that they would form their own parties. A few have decided to join other existing parties, including AIT opposition coalition. Other former members of VHU have given up and joined the protests in the streets against their own party’s government. The ruling party is shrinking in size. It can bring to a government crisis because of not enough people in the Parliament or holding important positions in office. Public polling was not being conducted, results of surveys were under wraps. But first numbers had started coming out and showed that PM Matthew Praeterit’s approval rating is at a remarkable 4% and going lower. AIT members warn that if VHU’s shrinking brings to a government collapse, it can bring anarchy to Vesvai. At such an extreme case, a civilian caretaker government would have to be built to take the collapsed leadership’s place. PM Praeterit warned against such action as unconstitutional because a country can only have one central government. A rival central government would break Vesvai in two.

To control the masses and avoid civil disobedience along with riots, Vesvai’s government has begun increasing the number of police around the country. Heavier units were deployed for extreme crisis situations. The Parliament had also sent the National Guard. All forces are present on the field in action except for the military. Demonstrations remain peaceful and everyone hopes they will. The problem for the government is that there is no unity among authority forces either. Police, the National Guard and other forces are breaking up from the inside. Some are staying loyal to the government, others are joining the protests and defending demonstrators.

The critical situation in Vesvai has led to the rise of NGOs. They are dedicated to fighting the democratic deficit in Vesvai, promoting civil rights, justice and political freedoms. Old NGOs and new NGOs have teamed up to resist the electoral fraud in Vesvai. They have been critical of VHU-led government in their activity which caused PM Matthew Praeterit to call them foreign government instruments. The media has seen its own changes in Vesvai’s crisis. The media has begun branching off into independent new sources. That is in case the state tries to go against the law and take control of the media. They will be active in the coverage of Vesvai’s unrest. Because of the situation in Vesvai, PM Matthew Praeterit decided to cut his foreign visit short and head back to Vesvai. He planned to tour Corentia to build ties with more nations, but changed plans. While still in Sunrisia, PM recorded a state address to Vesvai’s citizens where he seemed visibly frustrated. One of his most controversial lines: “Stop what you are doing, you’ll cause a civil war. Stop giving up to anger and think for a moment.”

King Maximilian IV Celebrates 237th Anniversary of the Founding of the Eucadean Antellian Islands and 219th Anniversary of the Launch of the HMS Cavalier

September 14 marks two important days within Eucadean colonial history - the official founding of the Antellian Royal Protectorate in 1780 and the launching of the first Royal Navy ship outside of Eucadea. The Cavalier was ordered as a dedicated naval defense for the Antellians, being supported by the HMS Protector, Valiant, and Trafalgar. She is the third oldest ship in commission within the Royal Navy, after the HMS Isle and HMS Dastardly. Her career, spanning those 219 years, involved many scuffles with pirates and various interactions with fellow colonising powers within the world. She was made famous during her trip from the Antellian Islands to the mainland through the Great Hurricane of 1810, carrying over 100 wounded through the storm to safety and surviving the trip with only her two forward masts remaining. The frigate has been nicknamed "The Spirit of the Eucadean Colonial Empire" through her career, and has been recognised for her effort through remaining commissioned and actively protected. Today the King was greeted by the Cavalier's crew, dressed in formal naval attire from the 18th century. Aboard the ship, the King inspected the vessel and spoke of her many accomplishments and how she represented the Kingdom and Empire to this day.

The Eucadean Antellian Islands is a chain of 16 large and populated islands, surrounded by nearly 40 smaller islands. It was discovered in 1768 by Captain George S. Smiths with a small native population on the largest island of Tortella, which is the island on which the capital of Antola is located. Captain Smiths worked with the native population, eventually securing a trading post on the northernmost point of the island. There was peace between Eucadea and the native Antellians for nearly five years, until a tribal chief on the second island of Habba believed that the Eucadeans brought upon a "wrath of the Gods" when his tribe encountered an outbreak of the Orange Flu and called upon the tribes of each island to expel the foreigners. In the resulting Antellian War, the natives were quelled by the Royal Navy and the Land Corps in 1776. This war resulted in many of the natives being killed, and only two tribes remaining. Four years later, King Joseph III permitted the establishment of an overseas colony in the island chain - establishing the Antellian Royal Protectorate. Today in Antola, the regional governor celebrated with the people in the capital by raising the historical flags of the Protectorate and giving a speech about how the colony has prevailed through history.

Minister of International Relations Ectrăr Álienan Talks Commitment To Pantorran Recovery, Situation Between Calva And New Toola, Vesvai, Terrorism And Other Issues

Sunrisian Minister of International Relations Ectrăr Álienan addressed multiple questions at his recent briefing, laying out the Sunrisian position on ongoing affairs:

We wish strength to Pantorrans as they are fighting Hurricane Joshua. This is one enemy that you cannot stop or deter, as it is a force of nature that cannot be reasoned with. Sunrisia will commit itself to assisting Pantorrum in surviving this period, if there are available means of doing so, while working fully to repair any damages we can and heal the population. Our neighbor The Seven United expressed an identical commitment and Sunrisia will follow suit. Commonwealth nation Rezua also promised aid, so we are happy about that show of kindness. Assisting Pantorrum is no longer about our relations within MDAA, it is simply a question of human dignity. True, the alliance is built to ensure the well-being and security of our people in a broad and general sense, not just necessarily military ones. It incorporates defense against any threat that we can fight and beat. Therefore, the existence of the alliance does play a factor, but it is also an individual wish to help a fellow man overcome a hard time that would have fueled us anyway. So Pantorrum could have counted on our help anyway. Sunrisian civilian humanitarian organizations are talking about being ready to head out to Pantorrum, if the country would accept them. The Department of Security announced readiness to commit Sunrisian rapid deployment forces and ACREFOR for urgent humanitarian and relief efforts. Sunrisian medics are prepared to head out to treat those affected. The Sunrisian government is ready to provide funds to rebuild economic and property damages, including people’s homes and provide shelters. We have everything available and we hope our counterparts in Pantorrum will hear our message. Sunrisia also offers to join hands with The Seven United in helping Pantorrum.

Regarding to the situation between Calva and New Toola. We have seen many military parades around the world and most of them, but not all, usually serve as military PR. It is either a show of force and countries military possessions or in some cases a promotion of military technology for potential clients in the international military market. So it might seem like there was nothing sensational about Calva’s parade. We might personally not enjoy observing it, but it would seem to be our own problem and Calvans not being concerned about our opinion. However, the current situation was different, therefore, the international reactions that came pouring in were adequate. I am sure that Calva is aware that if it continues to threaten New Toola and play the role of the aggressor, it will not end well for Calva. Hopefully Calvan leaders are still smart to realize that, even if some of their actions may not signal enough adequacy. Sunrisia won’t be the first and won’t be the last to recommend Calva to change its course.

Prime Minister Matthew Praeterit of Vesvai, who was visit Sunrisia, had to cut his visit short and return to his country, because of the unrest there. The Prime Minister had recently sounded the alarms of civil war and these words can be interpreted in any way. Right now, there only seems to be a civil confrontation in Vesvai and we hope the situation would remain that way. Sunrisia has taken its position and believes that for the destabilizing unrest to be resolved, a proper resolution of the electoral fraud problem needs to be reached “ASAP.” To encourage Vesvaian officials to focus their attention on fixing the problem, Sunrisia has applied individual sanctions on Vesvai’s government, as well as targeted persons we have reason to believe play a direct role in making the crisis worse and undermining democracy in Vesvai. That includes Prime Minister Matthew Praeterit himself. These individual sanctions are Sunrisia‘s harsh push to deal with the boiling crisis and bring to a just resolution. If millions are protesting, then something must be wrong and it can’t be just misconception.

The Prime Intelligence Division (PID), Sunrisian special services and agencies, as well as other forces, structures and institutions continue active engagement in the fight against international terrorism. We had recently concluded with our counterparts in Edereon that the short-lived terrorist group Oculus, originally based in Edereon, is wiped out and no longer active. Same could be said for many former terrorist groups in Creperia that posed as separatists within autonomous regions. Terrorist groups, like the Bannerless Brotherhood, the Black Sun, other international terror franchises or even localized terrorist groups currently don’t seem to be a threat in Corentia. We will make sure to keep things that way. In the meantime, we will resume our fight against the resurging cartel problem in eastern Corentia. Terrorism remains an active problem in the neighboring region of Dogmana, where Sunrisian PID, special services, agencies, other forces, structures and institutions resume active work against the Red Hand in Aznazia and the Bannerless Brotherhood in Rhodevus, supporting these countries against terrorism they are fighting.

The Department of Finance and Economic Development can later go into detail about it, but Sunrisia does not see a problem with Belantica’s decision to scrap a planned trade agreement with Sunrisia. They had their reasons, they made their choice. We will not analyze whether the decision was politicized or if the official given reasons were genuine. We try not to engage in conspiracy. All we can say is that if Belantica ever wants to reactive trade talks, they will know where to find us. Right now, Sunrisia is doing well as it is.

Hurricane Joshua rocks Pantorrum

Hurricane Joshua, the category 4 hurricane heading towards Pantorrum is set to result in multiple losses of life and billion in damage, leaving thousands homeless and in danger. According to the Cormiar Times, some 140,000 people in at risk areas may not be evacuated in time for the hurricane's landfall. It was reported that FleuriAir, one of the world's largest international airlines has frozen their cost of flights to $99 NSD in at-risk areas for all flights heading to safer areas in Ventismar. The company has also stated that they hope others will follow in their example and freeze costs so that those in danger can be moved safely.

In a similar regard, the HMV Toa te Awa, a Rhodeve Rubin Class aircraft carrier which was stationed in the Ile du Fleurs has been dispatched to Southern Pantorrum to follow the storm and enter into hurricane torn areas to rescue survivors and anyone in distress. When asked why the ship will not be heading to the areas to pick up evacuees before the storm even hits, Captain John Ahab said, "the hurricane is a strong one. The waters between the Ile du Fleurs and Pantorrum are very treacherous at the moment and even the Toa te Awa would be at risk if it were to try and out-speed the storm. It would turn into an even bigger crisis than if we wait behind the storm. Trust me, we on board and everyone in the military weather observatory have gone through every situation we could think of to reach the islands before the storm without putting my crew and ship at a great risk of collapse. I urge everyone still in harms way to find a way out. If you can't do what you can to stay safe and know that we will be there as soon as possible."

Largest Joint Sunrisian-Rhodeve Terror Bust in History

Relations between Sunrisia and Rhodevus have remained fairly low following the unification of the country and a massive change in relations which placed new tariffs on Dogmanan goods and fear mongering by its people. But, through all this, one beneficial program has remained firmly in place; the Joint Rhodeve-Sunrisian Information Task Force (JRSIT). This task force, made up of Sunrisia's Prime Intelligence Division and Rhodevus's Terror Intelligence Division has been a fruitful alliance of mutual aid, in reducing the threat of the Bannerless Brotherhood terror organization in Dogmana and Corentia.

Using information of known suspect movements, given to the military by the PID, large raid was performed by the Anti-Terror Attack Force of the Rhodeve Armed Forces. This raid has taken over a decade long Brotherhood hideout as well as 84 terrorists, 1 of which was on Rhodevus's most wanted list. Along with the terrorists themselves, some 1 million NSD worth of contraband weaponry, 2.5 million NSD of cocaine and 500,000 NSD of chemical ingredients in the making of bombs was found.

"While the governments of Sunrisia and Rhodevus may have a strained relationship, the intelligence divisions of each country are closer than ever. We will continue to work together to end this international threat." Said an anonymous intelligence member.

The Search for the Crown Continues

It has been four days since the Royal Crown of Queen Diana was stolen from the Royal Museum. Today, the first bits of information have been released by the Kingstown Police Force, who said that the prime suspect has indeed been identified as a Pantorrum citizen. The man, who's name and face have yet to been revealed was said to have gone on the free museum tour a total of five times prior to the theft. He was the only member in each tour group to remain constant, but the police have said that they are certain that this man did not work alone. The Kingstown Police and the Royal Guard have said that they will be opening up lines of communication with police forces around Pantorrum to find the suspect and apprehend him.

Seven United promises aid for MDAA Ally Pantorrum in light of Joshua / E-Pass rolls out on all Motorway / Flu hits Celstead

In light of Hurricane Joshua, The Seven United has promised aid in the form of $A 5m through the Aid Fund. Michelle Ahina called the situation "Highly Dangerous" and told us that there is a likely change some Damsmarian citizens are on the coastline still. Hurricane Joshua is predicted to hit Pantorrum as a Catagory 4 and weaken as it progresses through land. "We are bearing witness to the acts of nature.. and climate change." She furthers by saying that "All Damsmarian citizens should get out before its too late." Michelle Ahina was visiting the new E-Pass motorway tolls when she had made these statements. The new E-PASS motorway scheme was commandeered by SevCorp and The Seven United Infrastructure Commission who wanted easier ways for motorists to pay tolls, instead of having to stop and hand a cashier/machine coins. The new E-PASS motorway tolls still have manual payments, though now there are two lanes on the very left of the road which let motorists with E-Pass to just drive through. Any drivers who pass through the E-Pass designated lanes without having E-Pass will have their license plate saved and video footage saved for the traffic police who are almost always nearby. This comes with new signs and overall modernization of The Tolls.

Today fourteen schools in Celstead have had to close due to a "flu epidemic" which has paralysed many public communal areas, with deep cleaning going under way. This particular flu strain appears to be resistant to the vaccinations and appeared from Nenahay, which first reported the epidemic a few days ago. One principal from Tridecian Integrated Secondary School in Celstead said "It's never been like this before, this must be the worst epidemic in the entirety of my ten years running this school. It has knocked us and the system over as many teachers are not able to come in, so we have decided to suspend teaching until Tuesday, next week. This time should allow the affected students and teachers to recuperate before heading back into school and continue learning."

The Commissioner for Health has told the Unitary Council that the epidemic is still spreading and is most likely going to spread throughout The Seven United. Guidelines have been posted in many schools. "If you feel well, do tell." encouraging students to immediately tell if they are feeling unwell, as not doing so may risk spreading the contagion to over students. This strain of Flu is resistant to the current posted vaccination and new vaccinations will be needed, though the symptoms and method of spread is not different and shouldn't pose an "abnormal health risk"

Sunrisia "Interferes" with Vesvai Investigation
By: Brandon Wilson

UPDATED: 7 Pm September 18th

Sunrisia's decision to apply individual sanctions to members of the Vesvai government has been met with anger from Aznazian officials who last week promised to keep out of the investigation of the General Election. Juliet Travis; The Aznazian Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated "We thought that Sunrisia had made it clear they valued the integrity of the investigation in Vesvai. However, the decision to sanction members of the Vesvai government before hearings have even started is just Sunrisia's way of signalling that these officials are "guilty". Aznazia does not claim these members are innocent, but the majority of them are against trade deals between Vesvai and Sunrisia. I believe this is another ploy by Sunrisia to break apart ROVAA after its military posturing and latest economic policies towards members of ROVAA have failed to achieve their goal of "bullying" Vesvai into submission". Prominent members of the Federal Party in the General Assembly have called for personal sanctions on members of Sunrisia's government if they continue to "interfere" with the election investigation in Vesvai. However, the opposition Sapphire Party has called for calm while the members of the Liberty Party are split on the issue. Senator David Karstock of the Liberty Party has been quoted as saying "we really need to think about the geo-political consequences of such actions before we pass any type of sanctions against Sunrisian officials. Our two Republics should be able to respectfully co-exist in this world of violence and chaos".

Markets dipped today after Minister Tavis' press conference with many shares in Vesvai and Sunrisan firms being sold rapidly on the Crawford Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, there has been a growing percentage of the population who fear that the Western Hemisphere is beginning to destabilize after decades of peace. In a survey by the Edwards Institute Report showed that 46% of Aznazian's fear that a "Western Cold War" could from the increasingly assertiveness of Sunrisia in recent months. The remaining respondents either said they have no concern or had not made up their minds on the matter.

WAR

Image

The government of Molenston was given ample time to accept all aspects of the ultimatum which was sent to them earlier this month. With their refusal to follow the obligations of this ultimatum, the nation of The Bohin has declared its desire for war.

"It is time to remove the stain of Ziamban from this world. Let us all work hand in hand and with god above to bring destruction to them. To all those nations who will want to jump to the defense of Molenston, know that this is a conflict of only Ziamban. The Bohin will rain death and hell-fire upon anyone who chooses to attempt to intervene."

The Bohin Launches Missile at Rhodevus

It was only moments ago that a declaration of war was issued by the leadership of The Bohin against the Allied Clans of Molenston. Following the declaration of war, satellite data picked up from the Rhodeve Ile du Fleurs First Warning Station determined that a non-nuclear missile was launched from an underground silo in The Bohin directly towards Rhodevus. Quiniac City and it's greater metropolitan area were warned to find cover in preparation for a potential land-hit.

The missile fell into the ocean, some 500 kilometers of the Rhodeve mainland, but the message was clear. The Bohin has the technology to launch missiles at mainland Rhodevus. Princess Heir Sierra Abrams issues a royal decree to move two anti-missile Setan Systems from central Rhodevus to Quiniac City and the coast, as well as alerting the 5th Submarine forces of any potential future risk.

"The Bohin has declared war on an ally. They have issued a direct threat to the them and the people of my country. We will not stand idly by."

The representatives from Rhodevus and Molenston in the Senate of the Commonwealth have begun working on a joint proposal to activate the Commonwealth army in defense of Molenston. The proposal is to be read and debated later this afternoon.

War In Ziamban: The Bohin Declares War On Molenston, Fires Missile At Rhodevus: Belantica Preparing For Possible War
Seemingly overnight, The Bohin, despite many efforts at making attempts to offer a peaceful resolution between them and Molenston over water rights, declared war on their their neighbors. Not only did The Bohin declare war on Molenston, but has fired a long-range missile at the mainland of Rhodevus, sparking missile warnings, even though the missile did land several hundred miles from the Rhodeve shoreline. More so, The Bohin has made an active threat to "rain death and hell-fire upon" those to wish to assist Molenston in any way militarily, which includes members of the Rhodeve Commonwealth. Thus, showing that The Bohin is no longer in a state for negotiations, and has resulted to using force in order to gain anything that might benefit the nation. It is expected that they will recive backlash from the international community, and Belantica is now considering a full embargo on the nation.

The Ministry of Defense, in the sake of the protection of Belantica and her allies, has issued order to increase air patrols over Belantica and territorial waters, deploy anti-missile sites to intercept any missile along the northern and eastern coastlines, and deployment of the 2nd and 3rd Royal Fleets to waters at least 1,000 miles off the coat of Molenston to hold position and monitor the situation, citing that the RBN is "dedicated to protecting our allies, to matter how big or small." Currently no offensive is being taken, and is there to observe, take down any missiles heading towards Belantica or westward, and assisting in protecting vital trade routes The RBN will also increase patrols around Belantica in the wake of this. Some say this was a sudden decision by Belantica's top brass, but the Queen did comment that "the defense of our nation and those in the Commonwealth is very important, we cannot sit idly as two of our allies are being or have been attacked overnight." She also said that she is wishing to meet with Rhodeve and Commonwealth officials about the situation, citing it as a major threat to both national and the organization's security. The MOD further stated that they are "very confident" that any missile from The Bohin will be shot down or crash in the ocean before it hits mainland Belantica, but is still taking the measures necessary to prevent a missile strike on any cities or military bases along the coast.

Vesvai’s Military In Position To Respond To Molenston And The Bohin Conflict

Vesvai has been preparing in advance to respond to a possible attack or invasion by The Bohin against Molenston. It has been happening for a while. Vesvai’s continuing military build-up in Molenston was an obvious signal of that. It was clear that Vesvai’s preferred strategy was to deter The Bohin from attacking at all and preempting the conflict. It was a strategy of many countries in fact. But in case intimidating The Bohin would not have worked, it was obvious that Vesvai would be forced to act in defense of a fellow Rhodeve Commonwealth member. Words need to be supported by actions, so that Vesvai’s position would never be accused of bluff.

Ministry of Defense and Security of Vesvai has put out the following statement: “Our deterrence strategy has not worked. The Bohin was not scared off by strength and is preparing to act on its threats against Molenston. War is now declared by The Bohin on Molenston. At the same time a missile was launched in the direction of Rhodevus to show that The Bohin is able to attack more members at once. The Bohin is prepared to take on the Rhodeve Commonwealth all at once and are trying to show it. We did not believe that they had such capabilities and it is still a bit hard to believe. But they are demonstrating that they are ready and will not back down.

Everything has happened abruptly, even if the Commonwealth has been preparing for The Bohin threat for a long time. The Commonwealth now needs to gather to decide on joint action. From what is known to us already, the Rhodeve Commonwealth Army is being prepared for mobilization to defend Molenston and defend the Commonwealth. But that requires time, so until that could be arranged, Vesvai will act on our own to buy the Commonwealth some time. We are sure that other Commonwealth countries are individually preparing for that too.

Vesvai currently has 115 troops in Molenston. Those soldiers will stand behind the backs of Molenston’s army and help with advice and joint training on the ground, logistics, medicine, supplies, etc. They will not be rushed to fight on the frontline, unless The Bohin’s forces advance too far and Molenston’s capital will need to be defended. We plan to send more troops to join the rest of 115 to support this mission. From Vesvai’s side, defensive combat will be done by our air forces and our navy. Right now we only have 2 fighter jets and 1 bomber jet in Molenston. Vesvai will immediately rush more warplanes to Molenston. They will be responsible for launching airstrikes and bombing The Bohin’s advancing soldiers. Our navy has 2 frigates near Molenston. We are going to rush more warships to Molenston that will be responsible for attacking advancing enemy forces from another side. The warships will remain off the coast, distant enough and not easy to reach. In the meantime, our navy’s distant firing range will reach the aggressor’s forces on Molenston’s land. Our actions will be defensive, which is why we will not strike The Bohin’s territory. We will be doing all of this until RCA arrives which we hope it will and soon.

We can expect retaliation. In case The Bohin decides to start firing missiles in the direction of Vesvai like it did with Rhodevus, Vesvai is prepared to activate our anti-missile systems we had purchased from our ROVAA and Commonwealth allies. It will prove itself to be a good investment in Vesvai’s national security.”

PM Matthew Praeterit returned to Vesvai this the weekend from a foreign trip to face the problems at home and abroad. The government led by the PM said that Vesvai will only be acting to defend Molenston for now, but will not issue a declaration of war on The Bohin. The rest of Vesvai’s moves will be coordinated with the Commonwealth. In the meantime, the anti-government protests in Vesvai have now had an anti-war and anti-Commonwealth flavor added to them. They had started out from the election rig and Vesvai’s foreign trajectory, but more reasons added have made the protests more intense. They remain peaceful, but larger and more emotional. The demonstrators say that their message is not for Vesvai to ignore others and not help them. On the contrary, they believe in help, compassion and agree that Molenston’s people need to be supported. Protesters told independent media that their position is directed more against Vesvai’s membership in the Commonwealth. They point out this war as another example of Vesvai being in the wrong place and now possibly having to pay for it with sacrifices.

Today the Imperial Weather Service announced a special partnership between its Weather Reconnaissance Squadron 141 and the Allentyrian Air Force, creating the Joint-Weather Reconnaissance Service. This body will be stationed primarily within Allentyrian and Eucadean territories, including the Antellian Islands. The squadron will be equipped with decommissioned and surplus aircraft, fitted with state-of-the-art monitoring technology and upgrades allowing them to penetrate tropical cyclones. They will coordinate their monitoring of tropical cyclones and other weather patterns with the IWS marine force, equipped with several weather ships stationed in the Antellians. Along with this announcement, the IWS announced the possible founding of the International Weather Service - an international body based on the monitoring of cyclones and other weather patterns, preparing for these disasters, and support for nations unable to cope with the disasters. The Imperial Weather Service is expected to reach out to Pantorrum and other such nations, given their experience with cyclones and nations such as Rhodevus for their extensive colonial outreach in the world.

Also announced today was the latest information on Tropical Storm Juliet, investigated by Squadron 141 with two Vikkers 167 "Gulstream III" aircraft. The storm has been on the minds of the IWS Antola Station for three days, despite the depression being slow moving and seemingly stationary. The storm originated as a tropical depression nearly 100 miles offshore of Eubatu two days ago, and quickly has gained strength into a tropical storm. Its pressure has been recorded at 987 mbars, with 1 minute sustained winds at 70 mp/h and an eye is predicted to form in at least 12 hours. The storm is predicted to stay within the ocean, not making landfall within the 5 day cone of uncertainty. The IWS has issued hurricane watches in the Antellian Islands, and also has issued international warnings about the cyclone as well. The IWS is expected to update on the storm daily.

Calva condemns missile launch by Bohin as a reckless bid to end the world.

Today In a emergency conference the leader of calva made a statement scolding the nation of Bohin for its missile launch aimed at Belacanta as a "reckless bid to end the world as we know it" and that calva would do what it could to support Belacanta in this war which may include the sending of Calvan Troops to the war zone or as the worse case scenario a launch of the remaining 10 VX gas Titan Class ICBMs or a all-out nuclear strike on Bohin if it does not stop its war against Belantica

Newly formed Cyclone Hema to possibly be first Cyclone to hit Dirkhizistan in 10 years

Satellite picture of now Category 1 Cyclone Hema

A tropical cyclone hitting Dirkhizistan is not the uncommon, southern Dirkhizistan gets cyclones, but are usually very weak. Hema, now a Category 1 Cyclone in the central Sunaindian(I don't know whats it's called) Ocean, is mostly predicted to head north towards the southern shore of Dirkhizistan and predicted to strengthen to at least a Category 4 before landfall, cyclonic storms this are powerful usually rarely hit Dirkhizistan. The cyclone may even move along the southern coast and then head east, hitting Dirkhizistan's 2nd largest city, Muhammakek, which is a very low lying city, and when it rains there it floods regularly, one possible river that would flood is the Ogkarstani River. Meteorologists predict that the storm will not weaken as fast as others, the storm's center will be located away from the tall southern peaks of Dirkhizistan. Possible emergency evacuations could take place on the southern Dirkhiz shoreline by tomorrow.

Vesvai’s Military Withdraws From Molenston Because Of Problems At Home And In Protest, Vesvai Will Provide Other Kinds Of Military Aid And Help To Molenston

Vesvai is performing a capitulation on its mutual defense obligations in the Rhodeve Commonwealth. Just recently Vesvai was closely determined to be among the most active Commonwealth vanguards. Now Vesvai is turning back. Apparently being a vanguard was only the goal of the government, but not of the military. The armed forces have announced that they are pulling out of Ziamban. The government led by PM Matthew Praeterit initially said that the military of Vesvai was responsible for mutiny by disobeying orders. But the comments were later taken back by PM and by VHU. A different sort of compromise was reached between the VHU-led government and the disobeying Vesvaian army.

Ministry of Defense and Security of Vesvai laid out a new national strategy on the conflict between The Bohin and Molenston: “Because of certain problems, the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces (RVSF) have to leave Molenston and the frontline. Our military will not be partaking in combat, but that does not mean that Vesvai is abandoning our Commonwealth brothers in Molenston. We will be taking maximum action to help defend Molenston. But we are going to do that without fighting, because our soldiers have taken a different stance. Vesvai will be sending as much lethal and non-lethal military aid to Molenston as needed along with humanitarian help. Vesvai is also willing to help with logistics and intelligence. The only role that our military servicemen had agreed to was a trainer or moral supporter role. Those are the only functions they would fulfil, if there were boots on the ground. Vesvaian soldiers might train with Molenston’s and Commonwealth forces, maybe help with advisory missions. But that is where their role ends. That is the position of the troops in the army, in the navy and in the air force. They said that they were turning back and going home, no matter what the orders. That is because they are now focused on what is happening in Vesvai. They cannot stay focused elsewhere abroad, when there’s trouble at home. This is not selfishness or abandonment of our allies, but patriotism and priorities.”

The already deployed 115 Vesvaian ground troops, 2 fighter jets, 1 bomber jet and 2 frigates are all being withdrawn from Molenston back to Vesvai. Additional deployments announced a couple of days ago were cancelled. Vesvai’s armed forces are all withdrawing from Molenston and The Bohin conflict. But many of them have different reasons for why they are doing that. All of them are related to what is happening in Vesvai right now. Some soldiers are withdrawing in order to support the government and protect constitutional order inside Vesvai. Others are withdrawing in protest to the government of Vesvai and in support of the demonstrators. By leaving Molenston, the defecting soldiers are sending several messages. They do not obey VHU-led government’s orders anymore, they are unwilling to fight and die for the Rhodeve Commonwealth and they are focused on what’s happening in homeland Vesvai first and foremost. Similar resistance is present not just among the personnel of Vesvai’s armed forces, but those Vesvaians serving in the Rhodeve Commonwealth Army too. Vesvai’s government appealed to the rest of the Rhodeve Commonwealth to receive understanding if Vesvai is unable to currently participate in the Commonwealth’s defense to the max. Instead, the government hopes the rest of the Commonwealth will accept Vesvai’s more limited role offered by the Ministry of Defense and Security of Vesvai.

Soldiers loyal to the government continue service in the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces (RVSF), which is Vesvai’s official national military. Defected soldiers that are against the government have broken off and formed their own parallel military force. It rivals RVSF. Citizens have nicknamed them the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army (VRA). VRA’s current goal is to support and defend the anti-government protests. When the military breaks up in half, the situation in a country becomes scary, but soldiers on both sides said they have no plans to fight each other. They are still brothers in arms. Instead, they will keep each other in check and show their own stance. Experts hope this will create deterrence for anyone thinking about acting violently. When comparing numbers, the pro-government RVSF is said to be shrinking, while anti-government VRA is growing. Many soldiers are switching sides and turning away from the government.

Calva escalates to DEFCON 4 as Calvan navy are told to ready ships for departure into the waters around Bohin

In a move to dissuade Bohin from any further actions against the nation of Rhodevus Priminsiter Magnus Göransson ordered the deployment of 800 Calvan navy ships and 10 submarines to the waters around Bohin to blockade their ports. In the second public address, Priminister Göransson said that it is "a shame that Vesvai has withdrawn from the conflict as this leaves forces trying to contain this conflict one step backwards" and that he would urge Vesvai to change their mind on their decision as it would make Bohin stronger with one less army against it.
