Opening Act

The show starts with the orchestra playing a 5-minute long medley of Kalosia's past entries in the WorldVision Song Contest. The host then appears and stands on the right corner of the upper stage. "Good evening world! You are watching the 27th WorldVision Song Contest here in Monterra, Kalosia. I am Allica Ilham, the first ever Kalosian entrant to the contest and tonight I will be your host. Before we begin, it would be nice if you got to know who'll be performing tonight."

Parade of Nations

Note: Inspired by the opening of the ABU TV Song Festival 2012, the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, and the Parade of Athletes from the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.

The orchestra starts playing a medley of national anthems, based on the act being introduced. "The first act to perform is B.O.R.K from Alexandr Land!" A man bearing the Alexandrian flag enters from the left side of the stage, and behind him comes B.O.R.K. The next act would enter from the right, and the act after that from the left, and so on. The LED screen displays the postcard of Alexandr Land as the Alexandrian delegation walk down to the lower stage.
"Second is Jacques Jalliet, Julien Derres, and Heleentje Van Turen from the New Lowerlands!" As the orchestra switches to the Lutch anthem, the Lutch flag-bearer enter followed by the three, and B.O.R.K and the Alexandrian flag-bearer disappear through some of the shapes on the left side of the lower stage. The screen displays the Lutch postcard. The same would happen to the Lutch delegation, but from the shapes on the right side. And so on.
"Along with Liz Park, representing Lymantatia at WorldVision for the 5th time, DANAE!" DANAE makes a glamourous entrance and puts herself in the centre of attention, overshadowing Liz Park, who only quietly follows behind.
"From Grandterre, Les Apprentis!" They wear matching suits, but in different colours, namely red, yellow, green, and blue.
(reserved for the remaining Lymantatian commonwealth)
"From Kishrael, Tabitha Shamaimah!" She is shown wearing a sparkling gold gown; none of the acts would appear in the parade dressed as what they would wear during their performances, especially if their dresses were elaborate.
"Representing Fusha Me-Bar, Xhevahire Gjatara!" For the ceremony, she wore a dress which was mostly blue but had white and gold ornaments, like the flag of the nation she was representing.
"The Communist Quinntopian entrants, The Fissures!" They ran in, and waved to the crowd, they seemed to be enjoying it. They waved once again as they disappeared under the stage.
As the orchestra switched to playing the Polkopian national anthem, Johanna Sputman walked in. Upon realizing which song was being played, she saluted to the audience.
Then came the Zavlian sisters. They both wear long white gowns with gold-colored ethnic patterns embedded onto the dresses. The Zavlian head of delegation proudly waved the flag as they walked, but stood still as they descended on one of the shapes.
"The Luziycan entrants, Holiness!" Allica announced as they walked in. They wore white robes, but the robes of the two vocalists of the band were distinctive from the others.
"From the debuting nation of Fromulya, Ayu Bahari!" The entire delegation walked in wearing traditional Fromulyan clothing (OOC: Traditional Indonesian clothing), in which Ayu's dress was an extravagant, red dress with batik patterns applied onto it (but not the same dress she wears in her performance).
"From another debuting nation, Isabetta Giovanna DiCaluzi Lucrezia of North Duquesne!" Her dress was probably just as elaborate as Ayu's — a white gown with long sleeves that goes up to the neck. Seemingly emotionless, she throws a few looks toward the crowd before disappearing on the platform.
"Rebecca Meade and Hayden Jarvies of Bloodbath Generation!" They walked in, waving to the crowd and occasionally chatting to one another excitedly.
"Next is Kalusia, who have sent Liquid Helium featuring Drako Êmelitâxis!" The crowd initially went wild, but quite drastically reduced to just cheering upon finding out it wasn't the host nation. They walked in wearing black "rock jackets", except for Drako who's jacket was red.
The orchestra made a smooth transition to the Kofeiyan national anthem, and while the members of Yeremia walked directly behind their head of delegation, the backing singers follow them from a distance.
"From Crolacia, Peter Lindgren!" Crolacian flags could be seen flying high in the audience, while Peter walked in wearing a plain white sleeveless shirt and jeans. He waves only once as he walks in then buries his hands deep into his pockets, slightly facing the floor in a shy manner as he follows his head of delegation. As they disappear below the stage he just stares at the audience.
As they were introduced, the members of Convergent Flame walked proudly on stage, with their head of delegation waving the flag highly with pride — they felt honored to represent their country on such a prestigious event.
As the previous act disappeared, Lavinia walked on stage wearing a short green dress and white gloves, waving to the audience. As she was wearing high heels, it took her a bit longer to walk down the stairs and so the national of anthem from New Warwick was played a bit longer compared to those from previous nations.
"Next is the act from The Ultimate Evil, Hirvittävän Unromantic!" They wore black, revealing dresses (not too revealing), and received some boos from the audience.
"Moving on, we have Boloqueefa "CantHandleMySwaq" Vealinora from Lactatia!" She wore a black dress that, while it wasn't revealing, the bottom half was shapped to resemble tentacles, making her look like Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
"Now we have The Avalanches from Zwangzug!" The crowd's reaction turned positive, and the band members wave and chatter happily as they walk across the stage onto the platform, and eventually descending.
(to be continued)
"And last but not least, the winner of the 26th WorldVision Song Contest, Levi Schäffer! Though quite unexpected, the crowd cheered. The orchestra ended the medley by playing the WorldVision theme song. Now they could rest. The host left the stage as Levi walked to the shape in the middle. But instead of disappearing, the shape rose about 2 meters in the air. The stage lights darkened.

"Hypnöhser" (Hypnosis) - Levi Schäffer
Winner of the 26th WorldVision Song Contest
To the melody of Retrograde, by James Blake

Levi Schäffer had been in the center of attention since he won the contest, having performed his song almost everywhere he went - concerts, TV shows, etc. And now here he was to perform it once more, now at the next Worldvision.

When the music started, everything was dark on stage, with a spotlight on Levi being the exception of the rule. He was standing on one of the 'shapes' on the lower part of the stage, it had turned into a 2-meter-high pillar, thus highlighting him. The humming was pre-recorded, so Levi didn't have to hum live, so he was just looking to the ground, moving a bit to the music; totally introvert. The entire arena burst into cheer when they realized he was on stage and was to perform once again. When the beat kicked in, dark blue lights appeared everytime a beat was heard, making the atmosphere even more magical. Levi, who was wearing a blue pullover (like the one in the picture in the beginning of this post), started singing, with his characteristic voice. He was vocally perfect. Somehow shadows covered his eyes, so you couldn't see his expression, this didn't make his appearance uncomfortable though: it added the mystery the song needed.

Mitt Eürdt bedeckt (Covered with ground)
Nar Wäorn gegrüeb gewe’n (I’ve been digging for truth)
Dûor dir gekrän gewe’n (I’ve been scratching through you)
Dein Häuut ür meine Nä’ln (Your skin under my nails)
Trägnent aousch mein Vüggerspi’n (Wearing out my fingertips)
Äbtüeschnent mein Hinn (Defrosting my heart)

Now and then people could see a glance of his beautiful eyes. His voice was full of emotion, but at the same time, there somehow was a cold feel to it.

Süezur (Dissect)
Aller Schüchtüer gang ich dûor (All layers I go through)
Ich wüer grû’n bis der Bitterend (I’ll grub ‘till the bitter end)
Blüedt tropt wi Tränr mein Wänge (Blood drips like tears from my cheeks)

A very bright silver/white light was turned on exactly behind Levi, it didn't really look as if Levi was shining, but it was the best way to describe it anyway. It looked really great, and added the finishing touch to the performance. Levi's voice became more powerful with every line he sang, and the crowd was obviously impressed by the magic of the song and Levi's introvert performance of it, even though the song wasn't really the favourite of the younger fans.

Verwüerpf (Discard)
Aller überflusschnich Grüe (All superfluous ground)
Bis ich beim fürigch Küer ben (Until I’m at the fiery core)
Wältzte mir flüat (Oh, flatten me)

The 'chorus' started, although it could hardly be called a refrain: it didn't repeat itself. The bright lights were all over the background screen now, almost blinding now, and it looked absolutely wonderful. A small cheer erupted from the crowd: the small change in background music gave some people goosebumps. Levi Schäffer was singing the song with so much passion for it, it was as if he was melting together with the song and the feelings that belonged to it.

Ich wüell abgegrüesscht sehen (I want to be torn)
Ich wüell der Bitterwäorn prüeh’n (I want to taste the bitter truth)
Erinnringe krieg’n (Memories wage war)
Erinnringe krieg’n (Memories wage war)
Ich drää mein Äug nachbinn (I turn my eyes inside)
Ich drää mein Äug nachbinn (I turn my eyes inside)

Levi had not smiled so far, and had not looked into the cameras a single time. He obviously thought that was not important at all: the song and the passion he was putting into his singing was important and that's all. The refrain just continued, and it would continue until the end of the song. This was why the bright lights were not turned off and why they kept on shining their light on Levi. The 'Und ich hypnöhsier's were all pre-recorded, Levi just sang 'Mürselb' a few times.

Ich wüell das der Mëtüere fäoll’n (I want the meteors to fall
Ich wüsch vûr ein Mannejägd (A man-hunt I’m wishing for)
Und ich hypnöhsier, und ich hypnöhsier (And I hypnotize)
Mürselb (Myself)
Und ich hypnöhsier, und ich hypnöhsier (And I hypnotize)
Mürselb (Myself)
Und ich hypnöhsier, und ich hypnöhsier, und ich hypnöhsier, und ich hypnöhsier (And I hypnotize)

The music became more beautiful than ever, for the last part of the song. People shouted and screamed out of enthusiasm, but Levi Schäffer's voice stayed as stable as always. The lights on the background started moving a bit, as if they were floating through the air, it looked beautiful once again. Levi was a little bit less introvert this time, looking into the camera for the first time ever.

Süelchnent zufr Häod (Sailing into Hades)
Giebnent Charon älespul (Giving Charon all I have)
Vrüagnent Spër züe sa’n, was laös gewe’n (Asking wraiths to tell, what’s been going on)
Ich hypnöshier mürselb (I hypnotize myself)
Ich hypnöshier mürselb (I hypnotize myself)

That was it, the performance of "Hypnöhser" was over. The crowd cheered even louder than previously. Despite all that, Levi put his hands in the air, and waved a bit to the crowd, a bit uncomfortably, and stayed on the shape as it lowered, eventually disappearing under the stage. The shape rose, revealing the host, Allica Ilham (as if Levi turned into Allica). "Now, without further ado, let the contest begin!" Pyrotechnics shot out and Allica disappeared again in the same way she entered.

The first postcard was shown, and the orchestra played a 1-minute rendition of the national anthem of Alexandr Land as B.O.R.K walked on stage once again, as they were now about to perform.

3. Lymantatia - Love is Together - DANAE
Melody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn756io7kHA
DANAE and Liz Park are on the stage and the lights turn off when the music starts. When they start singing, the lights turn on in red, yellow and blue,

Zondag, maandag, dinsdag, woensdag, donderdag, vrijdag.

Vraag me niet waarom.

Nevermind! Nevermind!
Ik zal zeggen!

The lights turn off. Everybody claps and cheers for the two, DANAE and Liz Park say "Thank you, Monterra!".

06. Kishrael - קיסרל
Tabitha Shamaimah - I Realise
תביתה שמימה - אי ראליז

Language: English
To the Tune Of - Raluka - All For You (Extended Version)
Image

Last year, Kishrael had achieved their best result ever, finishing third, when Perah Kemainah sung "Kanafim". This high placing also took place in Kishrael itself, and praise was heaped on the nation after the event went ahead with no problems. The result the previous year was excellent, but it also meant that subsequent Kishraeli acts had a high standard to meet, and the public themselves would be increasingly frustrated if these high-placings weren't continued. KTV had went for an internal selection, with the advice of a number of international broadcasters, and had decided to do something radically different to the usual Kishraeli entry. The increasingly popular house-music scene in Kishrael had seen some under representation in WorldVision, and, as great appreciators of the genre, Kishraelis were supportive of the decision to send Tabitha Shamaimah to Monterra. Tabithah had at first started out in the Kishraeli-Pop music industry, before branching out into the growing market of house music, much like other stars had done. The decision to choose her was momentous, she wanted to do well, and to maintain Kishraeli pride in the contest. Kishrael had never been out of the top 10, and she wasn't the one who was going to let that record slump. Tabitha's song was different to normal house music songs. The emotions she was portraying in the song were sad, yet they were presented in this upbeat way. This strange paradox was hopefully interpreted well, she hoped, by those who heard her song.

The stage was dark as the crew prepared for the next performance, the one from Kishrael. Tabitha was ready, and, the lights flashed on, a dark purple colour, moving in time with the first beats of the music. The central platform was were Tabitha was standing, dressed in a dark, vampiric outfit. The four platforms either side of her were moving in time with the music, up and down, as did the background, as it showed what looked like sound-wave graphic, the background however was dark purple too, and had small shimmers that made the shapes of a heart occasionally. She was joined on stage by one male back-up dancer, and two back=up singers who were out of view at the side of the stage. She raised her head, and looked down the camera, a deadly serious glint in her eyes as she begun to sing for Kishrael.

How dare you, how dare you betray me like this, after all we’ve been through
Don’t you try, don’t you try to turn this on me, because we were in this together as one
And my silent despair, goes on undetected, a ceaseless nightmare

As the chorus started, the backing dancer appeared behind her, grabbing her body for a few seconds, then, as the platform lowered, he pulled quickly away, and back flipped off the back of the moving platform, disappearing. Tabitha continued the chorus nonetheless, stepping off the platform, and moving closer to the audience.

But I think it’s time that, I learn to realise
That it was all lies
All I did, for nothing, for nothing
And I’ll learn to hate you, one day I can try
To forget all of the times, back when it was right!

She turns back as she holds the long note, and wears an expression of pain as one of the cameras on the stage catchers her face turning away from the audience. She begins to walk to the right hand side of the stage, when the backing dancer reappears. He grabs her hand and leads her to the other side, before letting go and dissipating into the dark purple background of the stage.

Every day, every day, I hope for a change, because I miss the old you
You don’t know, you don’t know, how much you meant, to me and I don’t want to forget how to love
But what on earth can I do?
You’ve driven me to this, and I blame it all on you

She marches back to the centre of the stage, and opens her legs to around shoulder width apart, providing herself with a wide gate from which to sing more powerfully from. She holds the microphone up, and glares, chillingly down the camera as she starts to sing the chorus once again.

But I think it’s time that, I learn to realise
That it was all lies
All I did, for nothing, for nothing
And I’ll learn to hate you, one day I can try
To forget all of the times, back when it was right!

As the house beat kicks in without her singing along, she walks to the edge of the stage, and the platforms raise conveniently, so she can step onto them, as they are used, they drop down, and another one ahead of Tabitha rises up. This happens until she is at the central platform were she started, and, the music begins to mellow as she begins to reach the last third of the song.

Realise…
And what can I do, how can I not love you
And you are the thing, I cannot live without
Please make it stop…

As she closes her eyes to sing that part, she takes a deep breath, and as the house music beat returns, she opens them again, and the stage becomes more colourful, the black turning to purple, and the purple turning to gold, to portray the feeling of loss, but also of a potentially brighter future for herself. She moves along with the beat, shaking her hips in time with it until she comes to sing the last part, as powerfully as she can.

And I wish you all the best!
The best!
For the old you is there, he’s somewhere
And I’ll learn to hate you, one day I can try
To forget all of the times, back when it was right!

As the song finished, she smiled, relieved, and thrilled by the reaction she received. "Thank you Monterra!" She cried, before being helped down off the podium, and her and her team were escorted to the green room.

07. Fushë Me-Bar
Xhevahire Gjatara - Ata Nuk E Kuptojnë (They Don't Understand)

Language(s): English, Albanian
To the Tune Of - Grete Paia - Päästke Noored Hinged (Club Remix)

Xhevahire Gjatara had been chosen to represent Fusha Me-Bar by the public and international juries, receiving top points of both in the preliminary round, and then smashing the competition in the superfinal. Once again, people in Fusha Me-Bar believed that they could in fact achieve in WorldVision once more. To make the song more appealing to people, they reduced the amount of Albanian in the song, but not so much that it looked like a completely different composition, it was still apparent that this entry was from Fusha Me-Bar.

Xhevahire waited on the stage, she was dressed like this. Around her, four dancers, all female were dressed similarly, but perhaps what one would call, more modestly. As the hard sounding music started, the lights on the stage lit up, and flashed pink and blue, in time with the music. Xhevahire readied herself to sing for her country, and to hopefully return some sense of pride to Fusha Me-Bar's international music image.

They have never known anything like us, but should we have to accept the scorn?
From the outside it is like another world, and only we have the key to inside
They are afraid of what they do not understand, and so they drive a wedge between us
But I am certain that we will stay strong, the wind may howl but the mountain will not bow

As the bridge started, she shot a look down another camera off to the side of the stage, before winking at it, and moving towards it while singing. Her dancers, who had been relatively stationary, followed, moving like robots behind her, the act looked strange, terribly strange indeed.

Don’t utter a word that I speak, to another prying ear, don’t finance their war
Don’t disassociate yourself out of fear, we join together and face it head on

Xhevahire stopped, as the chorus was about to start, with the four girls forming up behind her. They disappeared out of view, probably crouching down or something. As Xhevahire began to sing the chorus, they began to dance behind her. It now looked more contemporary, as they puffed their chests out, and moving in sync, and symmetrically, grinded their bodies backwards, writhing their stomachs slowly, in a very sexualised motion.

Dallimet tona janë ato që na bëjnë të fortë (Our differences are what make us strong)
Por thoni kanë njohur ndonjëherë ju dashuri si kjo (But tell me have you ever known love like this)
Dhe kur raketat e tyre vijnë rrugën tonë (And when their missiles come our way)
Kthejnë sytë tuaj mua, vetëm mua (Turn your eyes to me, only me)
Ajo është e tillë një turp që ata nuk e kuptojnë (It’s such a shame that they don’t understand)
Unë mendoj kjo është në rregull që ata nuk e kuptojnë (I guess it’s fine that they don’t understand)

Ooooh-oh
Mos le të shkojë (Don’t let go)
Era maj vajtoj (The wind may howl)
Por është gjobë (But it’s fine)
Ne e kuptojmë (We understand)

As the hard music sounded, Xhevahire and her dancers marched to the middle of the stage, the dancers behind her making heart signs with their hands, before making a slashing motion, and then returning to the heart signs again.

Some people can be cruel sometimes, but we understand what solidarity means
What is unique will be challenged and beat down, but the survivors will rise again

As this part is sung, the dancers make actions like they are being shot. They then rush off onto were the podiums are, and once on, are lifted up. Spotlights flash off on them, and they are left as still silhouettes.

Our differences are what make us stronger as people
But tell me have you ever known love like this
And when their missiles come our way and they pierce us
Turn your eyes to me, nobody else but me
It’s such a shame that they don’t understand
I guess it’s fine that they don’t understand

Xhevahire begins to dance to the music in the background, the lights are now white, flashing in time with music, and her dress has become darker, its fabric allowing for it to change colour (OOC: ie. Sabina Babayeva, Aliona Moon style). As she dances, she smiles, she is enjoying this experience. The final part of the chorus is coming up, and she steadies herself for the most powerful part of the song.

Ne e kuptojmë (We understand)

Finishing, she smiles and bows, before walking off the stage. Hopefully, that is enough to give Fusha Me-Bar a good result in Monterra.

09. Polkopia

Johanna Sputman - Du Glaza
Language: Polkopian
Tune: Ёлка - Прованс

As the Polkopian anthem played, Johanna Sputman patriotically saluted to the music, touching her forehead with her index and middle fingers, which were held sideways. It was a common salute in Polkopia, and such a salute showed great pride in one's country. Johanna was, in fact, proud to represent her country in such a prestigious event, and she promised herself that she wouldn't let her country down. She didn't care if she won or not, but she wanted to give it her all, no matter what place she achieved.

As she took her place on stage, her black dress fell to her ankles, and her two backing singers took their place behind her, standing on each side of her. They were far enough away that Johanna had space to move around, but they were still close enough that they would still be seen in a front view of Johanna. The backup singers were both female and wore similar dresses as Johanna, except their dresses reached their knees rather than their ankles. She extended her arms to each side and proceeded to move them down as the music played.

Du Glaza yet vy yah (Your eyes stare into mine)
Ya fala eternitiya vy em (I am lost forever in them)
Ya et yah wis du (I see myself with you)
Vy die reflectaya in dem (In the reflection of them)

Gat, ya fel kran wen ya et du (Now, I feel free when I'm with you)
Kran sho ral lifi troublyafi (Free from all of life's troubles)
Ya fel ya kan od yetna (I feel I can do everything)
Oblitvaya ot die velt ashoo ya (Oblivious to the world around me)

The background screen now changes into a firework display, with fireworks in all different colors. Fireworks now shoot off from different angles on the stage, exploding in heaps of color over Johanna's head. Johanna and her singers sing the chorus while moving their hips in sync with the rhythm of the song.

Du Glaza rep ti die velt arund ya (Your eyes open up the world around me)
Ya kant desheet ya'so (I can't control myself)
Wenn ya fala vy em (When I am lost in them)
Du mesmerziyata Glaza (Your mesmerizing eyes )

Dos baetifal Glasa capturisk ya (Those beautiful eyes captured me)
Os wac daya jakal (So many days ago)
Oh du shkaka Glaza (Oh your amazing eyes)
Dey hat kaltona ya prev (They have smitten my own)

The fireworks begin to stop, and the Johanna smiles and slowly walks down the stage as the backing singers follow her down the stairs, singing.

Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha

As they make it to the bottom of the stairs, Johanna stays still, singing, while the backing singers proceed to perform cartwheels in front of her. Eventually, in the middle of her solo, Johanna is lifted up by the middle platform.

Du Glaza ar y blo y die show (Your eyes are as blue as the dew)
No die violettatet blooma (On the violet's bloom)
Wen die morna si nahe (When the morning is new)
Ya standa ni die sonna fo du (I stand in the dawn of your)

She shoots her hands up in the air as she begins her chorus. As she does this, fireworks burst in colors or yellow and red over her head. The two backup singers, who were on each side of Johanna as she was lifted up, are now lifted up by two side platforms. Along with Johanna, the two singers dance using slow hip movements and hand motions.

As the music begins to slow down, the three are slowly brought down by the descending platforms, and the backup singers begin to sing softly.

Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha

As the beat begins to pick up, Johanna sings along with her backup singers.

Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha
Ah, ah, ah, aha

Now, they finally reach the ground and they stand on the edge of the stage, waving at the crowd and high-fiving those in the fist couple of rows as they sing the chorus one last time.

When the song was finished, the three made their way to the center and bowed. "Thank you!" Johanna yelled, before they made their way off the stage.

Translation
No, no no you are not welcome
People say that you are very bad
No, no ooo, walls talk
I can feel the glares
Of the people who judge me
Come closer
and I will tell you
All my dark secrets.
yes yes yes I’m interested.
but don’t come too close to me
I don’t believe that you are able to love

hey, hey, hey mister
I don't want to leave with you now
and hey, hey, hey, mister
Just one glance and you are mine.

I don’t care, you think that you are tough
I’m confident that I can tame you

Well, what do you think?
Have you chosen correctly this time?
Because I’m not a one night stand
no no ooo, walls talk
I don’t want the reputation
Marry me and you will see that I’m right
dancing
We dance into the night
Your powerful arms shielding me
yes yes yes I moan
it’s sexy up against the wall
We moan with pleasure
Shame, it’s only in your fantasy.

Anthem
Tune: My Heart Will Go On
Holiness
Celine Daro
Timov Azayak
Both

The band, Holiness had set up. It was recorded, so it had a few members to play the instruments to the song. A female, Celine Daro, and a male, Timov Azayak, were the vocals. It was set up so it would have a church-like feeling.

I always wake up,
Knowing that God has come
He smiles from up above,
I know it...

God, let us help you
In your duties,
To protect this world,
From hate...

Near, far, wherever you are,
I shall pray to you,
No matter what...
How, can Jesus alienate us,
For we are very pious
Oh, we are pious...

This was when a bright light that was installed started to shine down, on the stage, representing the light of God.

God can touch us one time,
and guide us for a lifetime,
Every day, I wonder, if he is really with us
He proves that yes,
there is still good on Earth,
We just need to see him smile, on Earth...

Near, far, wherever you are,
I shall pray to you,
No matter what...
How, can Jesus alienate us,
For we are seeing the
Smile of God!

Finally, that bright light lands, both on the performers, and the audience. It was designed to be so bright that it would simulate the all-encompassing light that one sees after death, and indeed, it was quite blinding.

Remember, that he is with us,
As the light shines upon us,
He is smiling!

God, shall, bless you!
For he is smiling upon this planet,
He sure is smiling here!

The light slowly fades as the song comes to a close, but the damage was done: 87 people in the audience were blinded by the light. Whether it was permanent or not, we shall see. Then both say, "Stay loyal to Christ, for he is with YOU!"

Ramadan - Ayu Bahari

To the tune of Makhluk Tuhan Paling Seksi — Mulan Jameela
Image

Ayu Bahari, Fromulya's very first entrant to the WorldVision Song Contest, was wearing this. She was drawn to perform after Luziyca, which had sent a religious Christian song, and the fact that there were 2 Jewish nations participating caused a bit of controversy. Despite all that, Fromulya did not cancel participation as they've also participated with one of those nations in another music event - twice, and it did not cause much controversy. Frankly, nobody seemed to bring up the fact that some previous WV performances have been 'inappropriate'. Those knowing how inappropriate those entries were would also predict that Fromulya, a quite conservative country, would probably not participate in the future.

A band was at the upper part of the stage, each wearing batik shirts along with matching pants. The LED background displayed a well-known Fromulyan mosque, and one could tell that the picture of the mosque was taken during the day.
As the song started, Ayu rose from the middle of the 11 shapes, acting as a trapdoor.

Salam padamu
Pada dunia
Serta umatNya
Di jalan yang lurus

Saat puasa
Kita mendekat
KepadaNya dan
Berakhlak baik

Membaca Kitab Suci
Dan juga berdoa
Bersa~bar

Semoga sehat
Supaya bisa
Pergi ke masjid
Beramal soleh

Semoga Allah
Memberi berkah
Kepadamu
Dan yang beriman

Ingat 'tuk bersedekah
Pada fakir miskin
Bera~mal

Ramadan telah datang
Bulan yang telah dinantikan
Tolong jaga nafsumu
Agar mendapatkan rahmatNya

Oh oh oh...
Oh oh oh...

The 'sky' in the mosque displayed on the LED screen visibly turned red, then purple, indicating dusk.
Sekarang adzan
T'lah berkumandang
Mari berbuka
Dan memakan kurma

Lalu berwudhu
Pergi ke masjid
Dan bertaraweh
Mari berjama'ah

Menjelang Idul Fitri
Kita bayar zakat
Yang wa~jib

Ramadan telah datang
Bulan yang telah dinantikan
Tolong jaga nafsumu
Agar mendapatkan rahmatNya

Oh oh oh...

Marilah kita semua berpuasa
Berpuasa dan dapat hikmahnya
Ramadan telah data~a~ang

Ayu held the note in that last part.
Ramadan telah datang
Bulan yang telah dinantikan
Tolong jaga nafsumu
Agar mendapatkan rahmatNya

Ramadan telah datang
Bulan yang telah dinantikan
Tolong jaga nafsumu
Agar mendapatkan rahmatNya

Oh oh oh...
Oh oh oh...
Oh oh oh...
Oh oh oh...

And then the song ended. Ayu said "Thank you!" and left the stage.

Greetings to you
To the world
And His followers
On the straight path*

While fasting
We come closer
To Him and
Behave well

Reading the Holy Book
And also praying
Being patient

I hope you're healthy
So you can
Go to the mosque
Doing good deeds

I hope that Allah
Gives blessings
To you
And to the believers

Remember to do sadaqah**
To the poor
Doing charity

Ramadan has arrived
The month that we've awaited
Please guard your desire
To get His grace

Now the adzan***
Has been called
Let's break fast
And eat dates

Then perform wudu****
Go to the mosque
And perform tarawih*****
Let's do it together

As Eid comes
We pay zakat******
Which is obligatory

Ramadan has arrived
The month that we've awaited
Please guard your desire
To get His grace

Let's all fast
Fast, and get his wisom
Ramadan has arrived

Ramadan has arrived
The month that we've awaited
Please guard your desire
To get His grace

Ramadan has arrived
The month that we've awaited
Please guard your desire
To get His grace

* 'the straight path' refers to the way of God in Islam.
** Sadaqah is an act of voluntary charity in Islam.
*** Adzan: the Islamic call to prayer which is heard across Fromulya 5 times a day; the first one marks the time one starts fasting, the fourth marks the time one may break fast.
**** Wudu: an Islamic term for ablution; self-cleansing which is done before prayer.
***** Tarawih: A set of night prayers that can only be done during Ramadan.
****** Zakat: obligatory charity that is paid during Ramadan.

13. North Duquesne
Time - Isabetta Giovanna Di'Caluzi Lucrezia
Tune - Far - Maddji

Isabetta Giovanna DiCaluzi Lucrezia was the first ever to represent North Duquesne in an international song contest. She had been selected internally by The Prince and his advisers.

Isabetta showed no fear, as the act was announced to the crowd, and she began...

Time draws near
moment of truth
day of reckoning
times are changing

As she sang, she remained poised, head held high.
As she began the second verse, the LED screens began to light up, showing an elapsed time video of a sundial.

time moves swiftly
Time is fierce
time is a lion
a heart like a hearth

All this new
all around
all this change
time will tell

beginning the next verse, Isabetta became much more fluid, moving rhythmically about the stage, and making eye contact with some in the audience.

time is a wheel, it moves as though, and just is that way
Time is the ruler of the modern world and the ancient place

The Monitors began to show images of Ancient temples that quickly transitioned to ruins.

Time can build and so create or just whisk it all away
Time can quickly put it there, and just as fast erase

God is in everything, and if you take a deep breath you feel it
take a moment to believe and know what God wanted...
god wants what god wants and the world must answer
in time with truth of knowledge handed down from generations before
us through time, preserved in stone, inheritance

Isabetta's stance resumed its rigidity, and the monitors now showed shadows, as the sun moved across a vast landscape of mountains, valleys and streams.

Time draws near
moment of truth
day of reckoning
times are changing

time moves swiftly
Time is fierce
time is a lion
a heart like a hearth

All this new
all around
all this change
time will tell

Isabetta became more fluid again, with increasingly sporadic movements.

I've often asked my friends
Who was the first one
the first to go, save it, time
they never even claimed to know

Isabetta reached out frantically to the crowd, calling out the words of her song in its climactic final moments.
Isabetta gesticulated wildly toward the crowd, emphasizing every word.

you must ask God
it will take time
get closer to his world, his garden
and know his love in time

She dropped to her knees and looked up toward the rafters, where halos of white and yellow lights beamed down at her, as though there were someone there, further extending her hands toward it in a clear desperation of sorts.

oh god i said oh god
let me into this higher world
to understand in time
that God must be great,

The frantic tone of her voice calmed a bit, and became very relaxed as she finally looked back toward the audience during the final lines of the song.

God must know about time
he must know me,
he must have known everything
he is, he is great
God is Time
God is in everything

Isabetta stood. She looked out at the crowd as they began to cheer, and gave a nod of approval. She took three steps backward before turning around and exiting the stage.

14.
Bukás Véd (I Swear I'm Fine)
Rebecca Meade and Hayden Jarvies
to Miriam Cani-Pergjithmone

Rebecca and Hayden were nervous in the green room, with both good and bad songs preceding them. Coming right after North Duquesne , they had big shoes to fill; Rebecca in particular, for her sister got BGEN into the top 5 for the first and so far only time. The postcard ran, and now, it was showtime.

The beginning guitar of the song played. The far right podium was raised above a heavily fogged stage. Pitch black, a spotlight shone on it. A teenage boy was on a payphone, then dropped it, and slumped into a desk chair. In front of him laid a computer. Shown on the screen as well were several homphobic slurs on his facebook feed, such as "faggot" and the like. As he scrolled down, he smashed his phone on the ground, the screen was blank, and the spotlight shone a bit more, showing a noose rocking slowly from above. The boy looked to the rope, when a hand from the side, no face or body visible, touched his shoulder. Rebecca (hidden by fog) began the song:

Me ki lépni (if you want to leave)
Ti forduni (tell me goodbye)
Tlu volm tepas ki(leave me something)
Nevemaks yi (to remember you by)
egy lépés (i loved you like no other)
sem együttérzés (and if this is how you depart)
ki voltme(may i leave you with this)

The boy then got out of his chair, and a burst of light appeared on screen. The fog from under him had lifted, but only on his side. Standing confidently, he looked down below, to see what looks like street lights in the distance. He smirked a little, regained his composure and stood strong throughout the melody, with stirring orchestral and guitar notes throughout:

Tiken amit szeretnék (The waters are rough)
hogy boldog de aztik (but from water comes a beautiful blossom)
hiszem kim nem (and you will make it through)
hiszem i nem (you will make it through)
a fekete gri és (i hope you stand strong)
sötétben (until the end)
ahh~

The light faded, and, on the far left of the stage the podium was raised. Hayden was a little lower down than Rebecca and the boy were, about halfway up while she was as high as they could go. Instead of facing straight at the audience, he faced to the left. Standing completely still, the background was a lot like this, with dense fog behind him, but bright lights farther off. Hayden's mic could not be seen, but he sang, not moving at all, exactly the same rhythym as the first verse but with the drums starting from the beginning:

sen fordulni (i just want to be happy)
senki sem tart (to live without cares or worries)
Miért nem hallgata (but i cant listen, father)
apám at mond ti ja (i only hear the demons)
woah~
én laza ingyenes láncok (the girl with the heart of gold; her sorrows bleed red)
meneke del, (but i dont need your sympathy)
ne aggódj miattam minden (don't mind me)
bukás véd (i swear im fine)
bukás véd. (i swear im fine)

He then laid down on a bed, and grabbed a gun from under a pillow. He had rope surrounding his entire area, and while souched and leaning back on a pillow he sang the melody, this time with a little bit louder backing:

Tiken amit szeretnék (The waters are rough)
hogy boldog de aztik (but from water comes a beautiful blossom)
hiszem kim nem (and you will make it through)
hiszem i nem (you will make it through)
a fekete gri és (i hope you stand strong)
sötétben (until the end)

Hayden moved the gun closer to his head. Shaking and tears running down his face, he pulled out a piece of beaten up paper and was about to tack it on the rope when he saw a young boy, about 12, who resembled him greatly. As he stared at the boy, Rebecca was now shown, standing in full view next to the first boy we saw with war paint on her cheeks. Looking to Hayden, who was trading looks between the gun and the boy on the rope, both their platforms rose slowly as she sang:

ebben a harcban sucas
ah, ahh~
helló végződik a goy ne szokás
ah ah, ah ahh~

Hayden, Rebecca and the two boys were now standing, singing the melody, big drums and all, triumphantly together. Another burst of light was shown on screen as the melody began, everyone high above the audience:

Tiken amit szeretnék (The waters are rough)
hogy boldog de aztik (but from water comes a beautiful blossom)
hiszem kim nem (and you will make it through)
hiszem i nem (you will make it through)
a fekete gri és (i hope you stand strong)
sötétben (until the end)

The guitar from the beggining played as the lights faded out. BG citizens made up almost 15% of the total crowd, due to a large immigrant population (about the same as Mexicans in America) and close proximity to home. With this, the 30,000 strong crowd roared with approval, and the cameras showed outside, with Bloodbathians making a giant human flag outside the arena.

(OOC: Note that unless if I say otherwise, all dialogue is in Luziycan, and if you are watching it in Arazei, Keshudi or Kashui, replace ITV1 with BBS, except the commentators)

Prior to the Show

Announcer on ITV1 ident (or BBS ident on BBS stations): "You are watching ITV1. Now, you are going to see WorldVision 27, in Monterra, Kalosia!" *fades to screen*

Boris Coshehal: "Hej! I am Boris Coshehal, and this is Sarah Ozmayak!"
Sarah Ozmayak: "Hello! We are here live from Monterra, to cover WorldVision 27. ITV got the contract to broadcast WV for the next five years (until WorldVision 32), so we are here to cover WorldVision!"
Boris Coshehal: "Looks like the Opening Ceremony is about to begin! Let us watch it!"

Contest

*parade of nations*

Sarah Ozmayak: "Is it just me, or did we contribute something useful to WorldVision?"
Boris Coshehal: "What?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "The parade of nations! You know, our idea for the bid in Moglinov!"
Boris Coshehal: "Explains why ITV got it. BBS operates here, and since it is part of ITV, they got it. Point is, why do they want to steal their ideas from us? I mean, I thought they were supposed to come up with their own ideas, that would be way inferior to our ideas!"
Sarah Ozmayak: "Well, they KNEW their ideas were inferior. How else can they steal it? Well, let us head to the next part."

*Hypnohser*

Sarah Ozmayak: "He ignored the audience, it was as if he was forced to sing! For the life of God, I wonder why he won the last contest?"
Boris Coshehal: "The same way we got fifth in the bidding: money and ethnic votes."
Sarah Ozmayak: "How else could he?"
Boris Coshehal: "Now, we are going to reach our first entry from Alexan..dri Land?"

*DOWN WITH DICTATORS*

Boris Coshehal: "It is shit. This song is utter shit, I can't name a line in that song that has not been repeated at least ONCE."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Well, 'Why you beaten them? You cant take it.' has not been repeated twice, ja?"
Boris Coshehal: "Ja. That is it though. Anyways, this is a good time to inform you of voting. You can go on http://www.worldvision.luz, and click 1."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Or you can call us at 1-800-915-6911, and press 1, and then one again, or text us, at 6911, with 'ALEXA', but I recommend that anyone sane enough should not bother."
Boris Coshehal: "Agreed. What do we have next?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "The New Lowerlands."

*Hell Desires*

Sarah Ozmayak: "I swear, they are fucking high."
Boris Coshenal: "It is like I cannot understand. It is like they are singing in a..."
Sarah Ozmayak: "...starfish language?"
Boris Coshenal: "Ja! Anyways, if you are online, you can press 2 now, or call us at 1-800-915-6911, and press 1, then 2, or text us at 6911, with 'LOWER.'"
Sarah Ozmayak: "Please, what is next..."
Boris Coshenal: "Lymantatia, with DANAE!"

*Lymantatia*

Boris Coshenal: "Really? They did not provide the WorldVision Broadcasting Authority with the translation in English? Why are they so idiotic not to provide them?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "To confuse the living hell out of us?"
Boris Coshenal: "Anyways, if you can understand it, click 3 online, press 1, then 3 on the phone, or text at 6911 with 'LYMAN'."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Now, Grandterre!"

*Grandterre*

Sarah Ozmayak: "Finally, an entry we can UNDERSTAND! YAY!"
Boris Coshenal: "Damn straight, Sarah. But it is still meh. Actually, not really good."
Sarah Ozmayak: "If ya like, click 4, if you're on the phones, press 1, then 4, or text us at 6911 with 'TERRE'."
Boris Coshenal: "Coming up, Groteberg!"

*Groteberg*
Boris Coshenal: "I thought it'd be Swedish. Grote is, I think Svenska for Great?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "No, it is stor. Anyways, if you like it, click 5, if you are on the phones, press 1, then 5, or text us at 6911 with 'GROTE'."
Boris Coshenal: "Here is a Jewish song from Kishrael. I think it is..."
Sarah Ozmayak: *cuts Boris off* "Now, it is Kishrael, with I Realize!"

*I Realize*

Sarah Ozmayak: "This song is pretty good, actually, don't you agree, Boris?"
Boris Coshenal: "I agree. I swear to Allah, it can only get better from here, ja?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "Anyways, if you are on the phone, press one, then six. Online, you may click 6, and by text message, for vote, use 'KISHL'."
Boris Coshenal: "And it is Fusha Me-Bar, with They Don't Understand."

*They Don't Understand*

Boris Coshenal: "I think this is a better song. I think my prediction is right."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Yeah, yeah. I think the next one will be terrible."
Boris Coshenal: "Allah knows. Anyways, if you're on the phone, press one, then seven, if you are on a computer, click seven, and by text, send 'FUSHA'."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Those damn commies are next... I bet it is some crappy accordion music."

*Fissures*

Sarah Ozmayak: "Propaganda, as usual. They deserve no votes."
Boris Coshenal: "Whatever, if you think it should win, press one, then eight, on a computer, click on eight, by text, send 'QUINT.'"
Sarah Ozmayak: "Next is... Du Glaza, from..."
Boris Coshenal: "Polkopia."

*Du Glaza*

Boris Coshenal: "It is kind of fucking cool, to be honest. The lyrics, the melody, if only if it was not so repetitive."
Sarah Ozmayak: "I FUCKING AGREE TO THAT!"
Boris Coshenal: "If you enjoy this song, press one, then nine, if you are on a computer, click on nine, by text, send 'POLKO' to 6911."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Next is Zavlia, I don't understand their title."

*Zavlia*

Sarah Ozmayak: "It is not as bad as the first one, but point is, it is shit."
Boris Coshenal: "I got to agree. So..."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Yeah? Anyways, if you are calling, press 1, then 0, if you are online, click 10, if you are texting, send 'ZAVLI,' but I recommend don't vote for them."
Boris Coshenal: "After the break, you will get to listen to our very own HOLINESS!"
Sarah Ozmayak: "If you are watching this in any part of Luziyca, including our Associated Free States, you cannot vote for our entry. But if you are watching it in Kofeiya or Boris' native land, Efsanevi, as I know many may be, you can click 12 online, text 'LUZIY' to 6911, or call us, by 1-800-915-6911, then press 2, and then 1."
Boris Coshenal: "See ya then!"

KINGFORDIAN COMMENTARY:

COMMENTATORS:
NATALIA MOLOROVSKAYA (WV23 ENTERANT, Singer-Songwriter)
ANNA JORGENSEN (WV26 ENTERANT, The Voice of Kingsley Bedford winner, Singer)

Natalia Molorovskaya: Welcome to the 27th WorldVision Song Contest, live from Monterra, Kalosia. This year we have a new team of commentators for you as Sergei Aramov is on leave for personal reasons. So joining me in the commentary booth is Anna Jorgensen, our enterant at last year's contest who did us proud in Kishrael last year.

Anna Jorgensen: That was a lovely introduction Natalia... hello Kingsley Bedford! I hope your ready for another night of WorldVision... the audience is packed into the arena ready for the show and we want to wish the best of luck to everyone, especially Kingsley Bedford's DIVIDE who will hopefully land us a victory on what will be our 20th participation in the competition.

OPENING ACT
Natalia: This years opening act begins with a parade of nations, kind of like the Olympics where a flag bearer carries the flags of each participating country
Anna: And there we can see the Kingfordian head of delegation, Artyom Hakobyan carrying the Kingfordian flag, followed closely behind him is the band DIVIDE, our representatives at the contest this year.
Natalia: While we're watching this parade, here's some information about the host city. This year we're in Monterra, Kalosia which previously hosted the 22nd contest.
Anna: Home to approximately 2 million people, Monterra is the capital of Kalosia, and was once a roman port, now it's a bustling capital city filled with culture. We're coming to you from the Monterra Concert Hall, a 30,000 seat venue with an interesting design and has proven to be a fantastic venue for the contest.

Natalia: Now the second part of the opening act, The performance of last year's winner... Levi Schäffer's "Hypnöhser" the winner of WV26 from Worszary.
Anna: It was a surprise to many people, including the Worszarians themselves when they won the competition last year. It was a unique entry, with a stunning performance that won in a very close voting, but an amazing song ended on top. And you can see the stage being utilised to its full potential in this opening act, the raised platforms are probably the centerpiece of this innovative stage design. And later on in the voting you will see what we mean about this stage... but we won't reveal too much yet, it's not fair for us to share what we saw in the rehearsals.

Natalia: And Levi has finished performing and the crowd has gone wild. beautiful song, I was surprised when it won, but very pleased to see it come out on top. It was something unique. And it became a hit in Kingsley Bedford reaching number 2 on the charts. I'm surprised it never reached number 1, the winner usually reaches number 1 in KB
Anna: My bad... I occupied number one! Sorry Levi
Natalia: *laughs* Now this year, during the postcards, the orchestra plays a 1 minute rendition of the country's national anthem. And right now we are listening to the national anthem of Alexandr Land, who are the first song to perform tonight. I will warn you, this entry may seem a bit... loud to some viewers and it might seem like an awkward start with what can be described only as a... political song. Here's B.O.R.K with "Down With Dictators"

ALEXANDR LAND PERFORMANCE:
Anna: Well that was... interesting to say the least.
Natalia: A very awkward start to the night. They might be the most popular rock band in Alexandr Land, but is it a winner?
Anna: No... something will be very wrong with the contest if this wins. there was no performance, nothing but screaming
Natalia: If you're going to do a rock song, do it well... like Vampirium last year, they were fantastic... this, not so much.
Anna: It sounded like music that you'd play if you were torturing someone. I'd know I'd give away state secrets if they played that song.
Natalia: You know state secrets?
Anna: No, not that I know any... but if I did...
Natalia: Alexandr Land debuted last competition and achieved 42nd place... 2nd last... so they probably won't be much of a contender again. I doubt this will do well.
Anna: To vote for Alexandr Land add 01 to the number that appears on your screens

NEW LOWERLANDS PERFORMANCE:
Natalia: New Lowerlands is also participating for the 2nd time..
Anna: They gave me 12 points last year, I was so excited... thank you New Lowerlands, best of luck tonight!
Natalia: Yes, yes... what about the song Anna...
Anna: It's okay, it's not as good as their last entry, and sadly It's not something that really catches my attention
Natalia: I can't say I was too impressed by it during the rehearsals but the emotional performance tonight made this appeal to me. Very simple lyrics, but heartfelt to say the least. I appreciate that sort of thing in a song. Very sad though, someone losing their lover to an illness, very sad. Well done New Lowerlands.
Anna: Seriously?
Natalia: I've always been a sucker for ballads
Anna: I like upbeat songs, so we differ there.
Natalia: What about that piano version of "Midnight In Sirushostan" you performed recently? was that upbeat Anna...
Anna: No, but I sometimes perform slower versions... is there a problem with that?
Natalia: No not at all
Anna: To vote for New Lowerlands add 02

Natalia: We're going to take a quick break, and we'll be back with more songs soon!

Liquid Helium featuring Drako Êmelitâxis - Position of the Stars

Liquid Helium has one of the largest heritages that comes to mind when asked about Kalusian music history. They are considered the oldest still active bands, and are not only active, they have finished a big tour last year, while the average age of the members is well above 60. However, the band, founded in 1978 still ''rocks'', according to long-term fans, and is still in the original formation. Six musicians form the band, and every member has their own small fan-crowd even, which shows just how far the Liquid Helium hysterics will go to support their idols. The band started out in the heavy metal genre, but soon progressed into a ''calmer'' rock music. They've been slowing down ever since, and now, their songs sometimes touch the border with ballads. However, Position of the Stars, which was written in cooperation with Drako Êmelitâxis, or just Drako, as his last name is a bit of a struggle to foreigners, brings the men back to older days, where new, exotic instruments started flowing into their rock, and the music got a new flair altogether. Drako, who is along with the six gentlemen of Liquid Helium in his sixties, is a musical knowitall. He knows, after own telling, to play twelve instruments, including the piano, guitar, trumpet, ukele and the zurna he's playing for Position of the Stars. Liquid Helium's lead singer Mâni Miheli said:''Drako is full of surprises, everytime he speaks up we have a fifty-fifty chance to be stunned.''

Liquid Helium members
- Mâni Miheli (lead singer, electric guitar)
- Kâlaz Bûxrem (bass guitar)
- Grixâl Akôzên (electric guitar)
- Pâx Nolêz (piano, synth)
- Humêns Ranîgo (drums)
- Nôrmîn Bonâx (percussion)
featuring
-Drako Êmelitâxis (singer, zurna)

Back to Monterra:

tune: Mens - BLØF

The stage is dark when Nolêz touches the first keys to this song. A very dim light illuminates the entirity of the stage, and the outer ring of the stage is dark, with a few start shining faintly, but very visibly, as there's little else emitting light around. As the music densifies, Miheli shouts ''Hey!'' and a great flash brightens the stage up, and the music rolls out. We then find out in the much stronger light that stays after the flash, that the eleven pilars that can rise from the stage have been moved up about 150 centimeter, creating a wall between the public and Liquid Helium. These are moving down though, and right as they have slipped down, Mâni starts singing, with a lot of smoke around:
I do not feel obliged to read into your lies
You don't recognise me
And I don't know your name
With which our love has left us both
To make place for pervertion
That knows of no revertion
And I am asking you

Just as the first verse is over, the lights go down again a little, lighting the stage a bit more, but not that much, than at the very start, showing the stars again.
Is it an apology
To believe in astrology
To guide you in your ways
To lead you and mistreat you
And to ever since defeat you
Into thinking of your own
And to reassure you the position of the stars.

Similar to the first flash, the second one also happens right as Drako starts playing the zurma. Mâni gets a quick ''Hey! Hey!'' in before he starts running up the stairs the pillars have formed, to the last step, which is about 150 centimeters above the stage. Now however, Drako puts the zurma away and starts singing on his own.
You may crush me
For I am nothing but my bones
Protecting all my inners
From outside to within
From the love you stole from me
As long as you don't hurt me
I will not resist you
But I am asking you

Now, Mâni and Drako start singing together, and the lights have gone down again, but now the stars seem to be much brighter
Is it an apology
To believe in astrology
To guide you in your ways
To lead you and mistreat you
And to ever since defeat you
Into thinking of your own
And to reassure you the position of the stars

In the musical bridge that follows, Drako starts climbing the stairs too, and with each step he leaves, the pillar starts sinking down again until he is at the second highest. The second part of the bridge arrives, and he picks the zurma up again, and starts playing until the last chorus.

Is it an apology
To believe in astrology
To guide you in your ways
To lead you and mistreat you
And to ever since defeat you
Into thinking of your own
And to reassure you the position of the stars

Now the zurma is back playing, and needless to say, there was a flash again. After the four times the zurma plays, the song is over and goes dark entirely, leaving just Drako and Mâni up in the air lit, along with the stars, and the slight tinkering of the celesta, and the right-most pillars are brought back down.

Mâni says a modest ''Thank you'' and Drako says nothing, just lifting his hand as they walk off the stage.

16. Kofeiya
Anthem
Tune: Bring me to Life
Yeremia - Kumi Na Moja Miaka Ya Utesaji (Eleven Years of Torture)

The members of Yeremiah, came on. Elijah Sohov (green), Kumbuka Matumaini (blue), and Bitxia Galdera (red), appear in their traditional cultural customes, decorated like a prison. The two backup singers were dressed us as prison guards.

How can I suffer this,
Getting caught by them,
For just merely saying a word, against
Samuel Pumzi.

My soul, has come towards Hell,
It seems that I should give up,
But I shall not!

At this point, they look towards the audience, singing as if they are crying: for help.

Tafadhali niokoe (Please save me)
Mesedez, gorde nazazu (Please save me)
Kuokoa maisha yangu, uniokoe na kuzimu hii hai! (Save me, save from this living hell!)
Kuharibu kuta jehanamu! (Destroy the hellish walls)
Ezin dut ihes, naiz desegin aurretik (I can't escape before I come undone)
Ila mimi, ila mimi kutoka katika nira ya ukomunisti! (Save me from the yoke of communism!)

At this point, a light was in the cell, either representing the sun, or the hole within the cell. They grew more and more passionate, almost if their very LIVES depended on it.

Now that I know that we are free
We must be its sacrifice
On its mighty altar,
Or else...

They then repeated the chorus, as the light grew larger.

Tafadhali niokoe (Please save me)
Mesedez, gorde nazazu (Please save me)
Kuokoa maisha yangu, uniokoe na kuzimu hii hai! (Save me, save from this living hell!)
Kuharibu kuta jehanamu! (Destroy the hellish walls)
Ezin dut ihes, naiz desegin aurretik (I can't escape before I come undone)
Ila mimi, ila mimi kutoka katika nira ya ukomunisti! (Save me from the yoke of communism!)

Now, the "guards" brought wet noodles dressed as whips, to beat the singers.

Get this torture to stop
I've been living a lie!
Samuel Pumzi is best leader!

Get this torture to stop
Oppressed with these cells,
Just for supporting Jeremiah!
Why do I have to suffer this?

Finally, the guards left, and now, they were on the edge of the stage (closest to the audience).

All of this light, I can't believe it
That I can finally be free

I do not know how long I've been here,
Mimi nataka tu kwenda nyumbani kwa moja! (I just want to go home for once!)

Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul, don't let me die there again
There must be something more here, bring me home!

They then passionately sing the chorus, and the first part of the second stanza, but amending parts of it. The end was as if their song was their lifeline, that if they stop singing, they'll die.

Tafadhali niokoe (Please save me)
Mesedez, gorde nazazu (Please save me)
Kuokoa maisha yangu, uniokoe na kuzimu hii hai! (Save me, save from this living hell!)
Kuharibu kuta jehanamu! (Destroy the hellish walls)
Ezin dut ihes, naiz desegin aurretik (I can't escape before I come undone)
Ila mimi, ila mimi kutoka katika nira ya ukomunisti! (Save me from the yoke of communism!)
This torture has ended
I've lived a horror story!
Samuel Pumzi is worst leader!

And now it can end!

Then once the song is done, they say, "Asante, kila mtu!", then "Eskerrik asko, guztiontzat!", before "Grazie, allani!" Then they say in a heavy accent (Swahili for Elijah and Kumbuka and Azena (Basque) for Bitxia), "Thank you everyone!"

Show

Boris Coshenal: "And we are back from the break!
Sarah Ozmayak: "We now have our own fatherland up on stage."
Boris Coshenal: "I ought to warn you though, if you are a Muslim, Jew, or any other faith, the following song may be offensive. We apologize in advance."
Sarah Ozmayak: "You..."
Boris Coshenal: "I just had to inform the viewers of other ethnicities..."
Sarah Ozmayak: "Get on with it, get on with it!"

*Luziyca performs*

*Fromulya performs*

Boris Coshenal: "As much as I know it is Ramadan, and ja, I've been fasting, but do we really need a song glorifying Ramadan?"
Sarah Ozmayak: "I am not sure. But it could be some sort of carol, like Jingle Be..."

Sarah Ozmayak: "Now we are going to conduct an interview with our performers. We hand over to Colin Monteith."

Interview

Colin Monteith: "Thank you, Sarah Ozmayak. I am obviously Colin Monteith, and I am here in the greenroom, and these people are the peformers of this year's entry to WorldVision, Timov Azayak and Celine Daro."
Celine Daro: "Hej!"
Timov Azayak: "Hello, Colin!"

Colin Monteith: "So, Celine and Daro, what do you think of this year's WorldVision so far?"
Celine Daro: "It is pretty awesome to be here. I am quite glad that as this year's winner of the X-Factor, I get to perform here, in Kalosia."
Timov Azayak: "This contest in Monterra is so bloody awesome. I may have won this year's Luziycan Idol, but even that palls in comparison to WorldVision and its significance."

Colin Monteith: "What ranking do you predict?"
Timov Azayak: "15th."
Celine Daro: "At least 10th."

Colin Monteith: "Do you have any idea on what might be the winner?"
Celine Daro: "I bet my bottom lira on Kofeiya."
Timov Azayak: "Probably Fromulya."

Colin Monteith: "I probably will place it on Kishrael. So, my dear friends, what motivated you to start singing?"
Timov Azayak: "For me, I was 7, and I saw a talent show at my school. I wanted to take part, so I practiced the song, and yeah, I've got addicted to it."
Colin Monteith: "What is the song?"
Timov Azayak: "She fell down a well."
Colin Monteith: "And you, Celine?"
Celine Daro: "As for myself, I was 10, when my friends pressured me to join a choir. However, unlike them who left the following year because they hated singing, I grew to love it. I cannot imagine anything different."

Colin Monteith: "I see. Anyways, I shall hand back to Sarah Ozmayak and Boris Coshenal."

Before the Break
Sarah Ozmayak: "Thank you! Anyways, we got to go on a break right now, we shall see you after!"
Boris Coshenal: "The next song will definitely be good, don't worry!"

17.Crolacia
Peter Lindgren
Forgettable

To the melody of Another Love by Tom Odell

Crolacian national final, Laulufestivalen, was over and it ended with a surprise. Peter Lindgren was chosen to represent Crolacia with a tough victory, winning by only one point lead. The public wasn't, however, critical towards his song. It is currently No.1 on Crolacian charts and WV fans love the song. Peter Lindgren is a shy and kind 20 year old boy. ''Forgettable'' is the first song he wrote and he wouldn't have been Crolacian representant if his father didn't see the song and sign Peter up for Laulufestivalen. Peter is from a small town, so he spent most of his life with the same people, who were bugging him from early age. This song talks about his feelings from early age. Peter couldn't stand cameras and the red carpets when he won Laulufestivalen so he rarely appeared in public. He hated being praised and mentioned in media so he didn't watch television nor go on the internet for a few weeks. Peter is truly a non-conventional representant and while he may seem shy, he puts lots of emotions and passion into singing. He was ready to perform and stepped onto the stage, his hands shivering a bit.

All of the stage is pitch dark, with one light being the exception. Light was higlighting Peter. He was sitting in a chair, with thick smoke beneath his feet. A small instrumental prelude plays and Peter starts singing. Then, slowly, a woman appears behind him and started saying something to him. She whispers and kisses him. Peter is shy and it can be seen in his singing. His notes are slow and quiet as the woman slowly walks away from him. Peter stretches his notes a bit as he looks at the camera with anger.
All of these faces
Seem so alive
But they are stones
In the deadly rain
End is near
Somebody said
Or has it come
I don't know when

We are made
Of concrete and steel
Sharpen my view so I can cry
Moon is bright and the sun is dark
We could share all we left behind

Other lights turn on as the chorus begins. A man and a woman appear behind Peter and start fighting. Peter doesn't see anything, but sings stronger as the couple gets next to him, man to the left and woman to the right and yell at Peter. He angrily closes his eyes and sings with more power.
Forgettable, forgettable
Too young and wild to see the truth
Forgettable, forgettable
Sometimes the dark will make us fall
Forgettable, forgettable
Pluck my wings and take me down
Oooh

The couple fastly dissapears behind Peter. More lights turn on, following five dancers who act like ghosts. They artisticly come next to Peter and start touching him. Peter shortens his notes whilst his face fills with confusion. He puts his hands on his head and tries to push away the ''ghosts'' while sitting in the chair. The background isn't pitch black, but is showing strong winds and trees being blown by them.
I'm in a grave
Made of dust
The worlds collide
But I'll be alright
Push me down the hill
Of suffer and pain
Our memories
Have gone down the drain

Dark clouds come
But they won't go
Pull me fiercly
I'm a rubber glove
Heat me up
Tear the door apart
Tommorow we'll be
Nothing more than stars

Peter's face fills with anger and his green eyes glimpse as he raises up from his chair. The ghosts immideately try to take him away, some on the one and some on the other side of stage. He tries to let go, but they stretch his arms so he can't do anything. Camera closes up on Peter's face and blonde hair as he looks to it while singing strongly.
Forgettable, forgettable
Too young and wild to see the truth
Forgettable, forgettable
Sometimes the dark will make us fall
Forgettable, forgettable
Pluck my wings and take me down
Oooh

The ghosts finally let him go and he starts to run across the stage, fasting his notes. The ghosts start to run for him and finally catch him as he trips on their feet. They go down with him too and nothing can be seen under because they are under a thick layer of black smoke. Peter sings strongly but he cannot be seen.
We learned to fight
To give our best
You keep me under
Your secret spell
I'm just a wooden doll
In humans' world
Nothing more
Than a mist in rain

Peter slowly arises from the smoke and lengthens the notes. His face is full of tears with his eyes shining. Singing more quieter by every verse, the ghosts slowly take him down again. The background stops to show winds and returns to being black, with some lights still lighting the stage. Peter finishes the last verse on a longer note and ends up under the smoke.
Forgettable, forgettable
Too young and wild to see the truth
Forgettable, forgettable
Sometimes the dark will make us fall
Forgettable, forgettable
Pluck my wings and take me down

The song ends so Peter and the performers leave the stage. Peter doesn't thank the audience as he is very shy. Some staff members come to mop up the floor and take the chair away.

18. Greater Vakolicci Haven

Convergent flame: from Celeria to Ireland to Velstrania to Indochina, Convergent flame were Vakolicci legends. They're style of mixing many genres of rock and metal on one album had, 40 years ago, become very popular with the Greater Vakolicci Haven's notoriously judgemental audiences.

40 years on, with 2 line-up changes to replace 2 dead members, the 'flame' as there fans call them, were still going strong.

Unlike many entries, Convergent Flame refused to stay in there homeland after being selected to represent the haven. Instead, they booked an extensive tour around the world, the excuse being a second tour on behalf of their album, 'stoking the fires of revolution.'

During the tour, the 6-piece band made sure to book arenas in most nations entitled to a vote in the contest, in order to broadcast there sound.

Another thing that set the flame apart was the fact that they had no dancers. In fact, their performance was entirely done by them live: no backing tracks or vocal changing machines were used, apart from microphones, amplifiers and guitar effects.

After the last, rather inferior entry had concluded, the stage went oddly dark.
Commentators had been told to keep quiet during the pre-convergent flame 20 seconds, and the crowd was hushed. In fact the quiet hum of voices helped to amplify the suspense of tv viewers.
It was then a flash of bright white light engulfed the stage and the booming of a lowd, powerful drum kit could be hurt somewhere offstage, before 6 men, 4 old 2 young, sped in, propelled by jetpacks.

Leonardo Oreni, the 60-year old drummer, continued the warlike beat before the 2 17-year old guitarists, Jean-luc Gordavris and Liam o'clane began a siren-like affect with the 2 guitars, and the base and keyboard began providing heavy, mournful baselines.

It was that time when basest and singer Marek Jancin opened his mouth, and the convergent flame logo (2 enormous flames converging inside a skull) was displayed for 4 seconds, to be rplaced with images of the band flying around the audience.

((remember, convergent flame. I'm not providing a tune for this))

Look out, look out, on a world at war,
where battles rage and aircraft roar,
What are we doing in this world of woe,
we lost the peace so long ago

Oh what has happened in all these years,
What has braught the war, shed the tears...
I remember when all was well,
Where has that gone to I can't tell,
I remember when we stood so grand,
I remember how to take a stand.

My mind it turns to dreaming,
my heart does recollect,
when there was no hate or mindless fear,
no more darkening threats
(repeat chorus)
I remember...
I remember...

With that, the hard rock tune continued, with a long, complex guitar solo overlaying ontop of it, before it all gave way to a gentle piano melody.
Marek's beautiful voice began again, displaying to the world why the gvh prided itself on its singers, singing the chorus to the tune of the simple melodious sound.

With that, the peaceful tune ended, and the performers glid away, like ghosts on the wind.
It is now law, by the grace of the supreme magesterium of 'everyone is doing it' to include a list of your political likes and dislikes in your signature.

19. NEW WARWICK
SONG: Nothing In It
ARTIST: Lavinia
Tune: Hunter, by Björk

Lavinia, wearing a white dress with LED lights. She is raised, along with four backup singers, a cellist, and a violinist, on the shapes as the song begins quietly. The lights are dim and come mostly from behind, which, combined with the fog across the bottom of the stage, lends a creepy feeling to the performance. The shapes are in place as the bassline starts, and the backing singers soon introduce Lavinia with their cooing.

I'm holding the future
Inside of my hands
It feels fragile

The cellist and violinist begin to play. Two dim spotlights go up on them. The LED lights on Lavinia's dress turn into blacklight.

There's nothing in it
It is weightless
No way to get in
To put something in

The shape under Lavinia rises, but the hem of her dress stays attached to the floor. As it unfolds, more and more LED lights are revealed. They revert to white as the shape stops rising.

Of all the things I thought were coming
This caught me unaware
An empty void
Of future
I fall away, spiraling

Until now, the cameras had mainly been focusing on closeups of Lavinia and her backing performers. A fan begins to blow from the front of the stage as the lights begin to "move" from front to back, as if the stage were traveling through a tunnel towards the audience. The outer shell of Lavinia's dress is blown off, revealing that her dress stops right above the knee. The LED lights flash in synchronicity with the overhead lights. The cellist and violinist stop playing and face away from Lavinia. The backingsingers bend and sway slowly, running their hands over their stretched arms.

I have visions
Of a sunrise turning black
Of a broken mirror
Of a skull grin
Stare me down

The lights begin to brighten and the movement becomes less noticeable, until by the end of the second "there's nothing in it," the stage is covered in a wash of bright light, which then quickly fades a bit in intensity and turns into toplight, and dim lights begin to move, facing the crowd, to the left and right from the back of the stage. The fog, which had blown away, starts to billow over the stage again. Slowly, more people with cellos and violins begin to walk on in rhythm. More and more begin to play as the music swells. The pace quickens and stops after an 8 count, starting with the faster violin notes. Eventually, around 20 string players inhabit the stage, standing in a grid.

There's nothing in it
Nothing under
I am dying
There's nothing in it
Empty future
Empty vision
Empty memory
Empty morning

Empty living

Lavinia begins to sway slowly with the music as well. She eventually hits the air during the snare rolls during the syncopated parts. The string players begin to break away one by one until only the original two are left. After singing the final line, all performers are once again lowered on their shapes, Lavinia barely disappearing as the music comes to a stop.
