Firstly, we provide you with the descriptions of all the represented political parties in Parliament. It should be noted that Bratislav holds a unicameral system, hence, there is only one legislative body.
Bratislavian Freedom Party
Center-Right, Economic Liberalism, Bratislavian Nationalism, Conservatism
The BFP is the party founded by the Republic's founder and was the political force that fought against the Communist Government in the civil war in which the Communist Government was overthrown and Bratislav was founded as an independent republic. It is currently the ruling party, heavily represented in all spheres of Government, including the President. It supports economically liberal policies and has taken great strides in making Bratislav an economically free and democratic country.
Democratic Forum of Bratislav
Centrism, Liberalism, civic nationalism
The DFB is a largely centrist party that has at times both supported and opposed the policies of the BFP. It is known to be more moderate than BFP and supports more progressive and moderate policies. They are known to oppose BFP´s close relationship and support of the Army.
Social Democratic Party of Bratislav
Center-Left, Social Democracy, mixed economy
The SDPB is the major left wing party in Bratislav and is in opposition to the ruling BFP party. They are a member of Socialist International and advocate for a more mixed economy, and opposed the economic liberal and conservative policies pursued by the BFP. They also oppose the BFP great support of the military and their state sponsored patriotic program.
Green Party of Bratislav
Center-left, Green politics, social progressiveness
The green party is mostly concerned about environmental issues in Bratislav and also advocates socially progressive policies. Economically they advocate a strong welfare program.
Current make-up of Parliament (colors correspond to respective parties):
President Viktor Nazbeshi hopes the vote will solidify his party's dominance and signal to him that the country is happy with his democratic and economic reforms, while the opposition parties are hoping to get more representation in the Parliament.
