President Redovan Stojanovic is preparing to make a public media conference to all major new networks around the world. The entire meeting hall is filled with journalists and government officials, awaiting the President's official call to end the war.

Moments later, Stojanovic walks out to the podium to a loud applause.

He clears his throat as he ushers for quiet.

Stojanovic: For the past few years, we have seen efforts to fragment the world and draw new dividing lines. These dividing lines resulted in the most bloodiest civil wars seen for a long time in Moneylania. We sat idly, awaiting for a resolution to this unnecessary war, unnecessary bloodshed. One year went past. Nothing changed. Despite actions from the North to try and breakthrough the Southern defences, the end was not as close as we all thought. It was due to this that we decided to intervene in the name of peace and unification. Our ultimatum led to hopefully fruitful talks with the Banana Federation. However, under the guise of peace, the South Lukonian Army invaded the nation of Vasil in an attempt to gain ground, resources and domestic prestige. The Youthsville Pact, severely underprepared in the Vasilian front, pushed on with might and honour, protecting our Vasilian friends, with valiant sacrifices from both Vasilian and Sibarian troops.

Continuing on to yesterday, the third of August, 2031, the South Lukonian Army officially surrendered, with only pockets of resistence still remaining in Turkylä. With this surrender, hostilities with the Sibarian Federation and the now defunct South Lukonia will cease. The Pact gains victory in Lukonia!

The room erupts in applause, with some journalists from Vasil and some Western far right networks sceptical of the speech.

Stojanovic: With this announcement, I put forward our plans going forward. I have a list of five major topics. Talks with the head of state of the nations of Vasil, which I will prepare to go to directly after this, and Palomaria. My talks will include what Sibaria can do for the people of Vasil, rebuilding and what we can do going forward in terms of our influence in the nation. Talks with Palomaria will include business deals, ease of transit, and more.

Stojanovic: Next on my list is for me to have a meeting with President Taneli Filatov of North Lukonia. These talks will hopefully set in stone our friendship, cooperation and eventual groundwork for a long trustful and fruitful friendship.

Stojanovic: Our next priority is the postponed election campaign. Both me and my counterpart Cresnevic have decided on 11th of August as the day of election, giving us one more week of hard campaigning.

Stojanovic: Depending on the outcome of the election, my third task will be major reforms of the military and the organisational structure of the Youthsville Pact. This war has shown cracks and issues in not only our operations in the field, but the organisational structure of the Pact itself. Hopefully, with a CNC win come next week, I can help to grant more powers to the signatories of the Pact, something I should have realised long ago.

Stojanovic: Finally, our last task, me and Cresnevic have decided, that no matter the outcome, we will host a large victory parade in the heart of Vladivastak for the brave men and women who fought in this war. We will be inviting heads of states from multiple nations, battalions for the armies of North Lukonia and other combatants in this war to march alongside our own as equals.

This time, there is a louder round of applause, accompanied by whistling and cheers from the crowd.

Ironian Diplomatic Efforts

Congratulations are sent by President Lister to the leaders of the Youthsville Pact nations that participated in the war. Notably, no congratulations are sent to the former North Lukonia. However, Ironcastle does now recognise the existence of a sole Lukonian state.

President Lister himself lands in Veros City to meet with the President of Palomaria for trade talks.

An Ironian delegation meets with diplomats in Vasil to discuss security measures.

The leadership of the Northern Alliance (Freivia, Neustuhl, and Carulala) are scheduled to meet with President Lister in Aelcrest in a few days' time.

Finally, the Ironian Ambassador to Intaba is looking to discuss the expanding of the Acrisian nation's military forces.

A captured surplus

Following the end of the Lukonian war, the ULRS has been left with a rather sizable number of equipment from the former army of the Lukonian state. Consisting primarily of former cold war era western technology and equipment, it has no place in the ULPA logistics chain and thus, will not be put in use. Instead the equipment is to be offered to any nations who could be interested in its purchase, especially in Acrisia. Consisting mostly of Scuroan TRG-21 rifles and other small arms along with the occasional M-60 tank and some artillery pieces among other pieces of heavy equipment, they may be old but certainly still usable.

With the end of the war and the establishment of the commission to coordinate on the improvement of the ULPA, results are already trickling in. Based on these, the ULRS has announces the Tampela 2040 army modernization initiative, aimed to bring about lasting change to the armed forces and have them be combat capable to the standard of any modern army in Moneylania by the end of the decade. First order of business has been decided to be the acquisition of a new standard rifle for the armed forces, following the continued ageing of the RK series. Sibarian arms manufacturers have been approached on the possibility of licensing a newer weapon maintaining the 7.62 caliber, but further options are still under consideration.

Sibarian Election Trail

President Stojanovic is expected in Veros City in the coming hours to discuss, not only economic deals, but to discuss the first plans for an open border region with the Uzmorr Bay and the Youthsville Pact nations. This area will help increase economic prosperity, opportunity and growth between the nations. If elected, Stojanovic will continue these talks, as the area is one of his election promises.

Nikola Cresnevic is due to arrive in the Sibarian country side in an attempt to gain more votes in the rural population. Most of the rural population had someone in their family fight in the Lukonian War. Whether they came home safe and sound, or at all, will help sway their votes.

Diplomatic Missive to the Grand Duchy of Vilinis

The United Empire of Platacia wishes to express a desire to expand the relations between our two nations. We would like to open trade negotiations, specifically regarding Vilinis' oil reserves. We would further like to assist the government of Vilinis with a substantial investment of capital into Vilinian infrastructure, should the talks go well. Finally, in an effort to curb Sibarian expansionism and protect the Vilinian people, the United Empire is willing to offer a bilateral defensive alliance to the Grand Duchy of Vilinis, and remains hopeful for the future of relations between our two states.

After hours of discussion and contemplation, Stojanovic exits the Palomarian Government with a signed agreement of a planned open border region. In the perfect scenario, the two presidents hope to unite East Moneylania in a unified agreement of open borders, ease of trade, economic prosperity and increased friendship between the nations.

The hopeful signatories of the region include the nations in the Youthsville Pact, Givizia, Troesil, Kazna, Vasil, Kartof and Lukonia.

Once the election concludes, we shall see if this fruitful idea comes to life.

Platacian-Operated Refugee Camp, near the Kartofi-Lukonian Border

In the final weeks of the Lukonian war, large numbers of civilian refugees and survivours from the South Lukonian military have been gathering at refugee camps, particularly Platacian operated ones, and planning the formation of a new Lukonian government-in-exile. Earlier today, the highest-ranking officials met and decided to announce the government's formation.

Colonel Tarmo Laaksonen: For the last sixteen months, the world has seen the price of tyranny. The civil war in Lukonia may now be over, but I fear that the suffering of the Lukonian people will not end with it. The people in the south have simply traded one tyrannical regime for another, while those in the north must continue to endure the status quo. But it does not have to be this way. As such, those with power who remain loyal to the people of Lukonia have seen fit to declare the Free Lukonian Republic. At present, our focus is on helping the refugees and all those who have been affected by the war. After that, we shall work towards freeing the Lukonian people who remain oppressed under the heel of extremism, and we shall not rest until Lukonia is united under a free and democratic government.


Additionally, international observers note that Platacian forces have showed no signs of departing the occupied territory in South Lukonia, and have in fact invited a number of military officials from the newly formed Free Lukonian Republic into it.

Turkylä, now mostly in ruin, is firmly under Sibarian control. Rebuilding attempts with the former North Lukonian government is in full swing, with Sibarian supplies comeing in from Vladivastak to aid in the rebuilding of the city.

Colonel Mihajlovic has been stationed in the city to clear out the last remainders of the resistance. Major Heikkinen of the former South Lukonian Armed Forces has been taken into the depths of the relatively untouched Turkylä Town Hall chambers, now the base of operations of the Sibarian occupation.

Mihajlovic: So, Heikkinen. We finally meet.

Heikkinen: Colonel. I've heard a lot about you.

Mihajlovic: Really?

Heikkinen: Yes. Ruthless. Demanding.

Heikkinen: No.

Mihajlovic: We need to make this quick if you want to come with me back to Vladivastak. I have a parade to get too, and if you don't answer my questions, I'll leave you here with the not so friendly North Lukonians.

Protests erupted yesterday in Rancora, the capital of Vasil, demanding that Youthsville Pact forces immediately exit the country. In the wake of the devastation following the South Lukonian invasion, and subsequent expulsion from Vasil, many people in the nation have begun questioning the role of the Youthsville Pact. In a poll conducted by Cantor, over half of Vasilians surveyed said they 'no longer believed the Youthsville Pact was capable of protecting them'. While the government still readily supports the Sibarian-dominated organisation, these protests are only growing larger by the day.

18th congress of the United Lukonian Communist party

As Lukonia exits its months of struggle, the country has been irreversibly changed by its experiences in the war that has left much of the southern portions of the country devastated and despite the northern victory, had serious implications to the ruling regime, which now once more stands at the steps of great change. To this end Chairman Filatov called upon a new congress of the ULCP, to once and for all make clear the countries current course. With this announcement the party has gathered into the Party headquarters in Ulinna, to hear out the plans for the future.

The proceeding went smoothly for the most part. Filatov had gathered enough prestige from the unification and his previous 9 years as chairman to be able to hold authority, and now that is put to good use. Arguments for the opening of the country well received with murmurs of agreement and even some former hardliners grudgingly seemed to listen to his words. The necessity to adapt and change the system to fit the modern world while maintaining its core principles found support for the most part.

Not all were however, were so pleased. As a country founded on the basis of the teaching of Chairman Leo Harjus hardline Marxist-Leninist policy, a lot of people are bound to take things rather badly. This occured about half way in the conference, When Filatovs speech was abruptly stopped by the echoing sound of a shoe hitting a table. This was non other then Maunu Honkala, a well known conservative and hardliner within the party. He publicly accused Filatov of "Using the achievements gained in this great peoples war to push revisionist policies aimed at throwing Lukonia to the wolves", and personally led a march out of the hall with many other hardliners, and conservatives joining him in doing so.

The rest of the conference went smoothly following the event, with the final declaration and result being the agreement on the continued struggle against the remnant of the southern terror state and working internationally to both guarantee the existence of the Lukonian system and the preservation of the Lukonian nation as an independent entity free of harmful foreign influence.

A diplomatic communique to the The People's Republic of Guamona from the United Lukonian Socialist Republics

Greetings comrades.

Chairman Filatov would like personally to offer his sincere condolences for the abrupt end of communications following the previous attempt to to establish cooperation. This was necessitated by the rapidly changing Geopolitical situation, which required the full attention of the foreign ministry to navigate and rendering the previous offer made by the country not politically realistic. Following this, the ULSR would like to once more attempt the establishment of a meaningful and productive relationship with its Acrisian comrades in Guamona.

The beginning of what we propose is simple, our country as it recovers from the devastation of the Lukonian war, is assailed by is in great need of materials to aid with rebuilding, and as we understand Guamona may possess some of these required resources, metals and fuel from coal to oil mostly. Should this be the case, we would like to propose the creation of trade ties between our two countries in order to facilitate the easy transfer of resources. The ULRS is also willing to provide industrial and educational expertise to the Guamonan government should they be willing to take it and if need be, military aid as well, especially considering our rather sizable weapons stocks that we have gained following the war and the amount of experience our men have gained which could potentially be shared via a military attache program.

We hope the recent complications have not harmed the willingness of the Guanoman government to conduct cooperation between our two socialist governments and maintain there ideals in this ever changing world.

The socialist world has since the fall of the USSR, remained bitterly divided. nowhere has these been more true then Lukonia. I am sure Chairman Leo Harju is name many even in Guanoma know as well. His hardline policies in the 1960s indeed brought about the ULSRs "oppresive" reputation, something not entirely undeserved, so much so that "Harjunism" has become the term used to describe our ideological alignment. We completely understand this may be seen as a obstacle on the road to better relations. As of the 18th congress of the United Lukonian communist party our course to reform has been made clear and i can guarantee you things will change. Cooperation between our two countries may be just the push i need to be able to more solidly unite the party behind reform.

South Lukonia

Shortly after the surrender of the last South Lukonian forces, North Lukonian officials detained a refugee from Turkylä on suspicious of espionage. It took them some time to identify the contents of one of his bags, but a few hours ago they determined that he was carrying samples of anthrax, seemingly with the intent to weaponise them. In possibly related incidents, there have been reports of several North Lukonian officers and soldiers stationed in the former South Lukonia falling ill with symptoms such as skin lesions and various flu-like symptoms such as respiratory problems and fevers.

Polling booths open!

On the 11th of August, Sibaria's polling booths opened to the public. Millions of Sibarians went to their local polling booths to decide the new president to lead them into the new decade.

On one side of the ballot paper is the Sibaria One candidate Nikola Cresnevic. This candidate, often seen as too polarising, resonates with the conservative crowd who believe they have been abandoned by the CNC, they're former voice in Parliament. They believe the CNC's more centrist views are what drove away their voice as they "pander to the more leftist crowd".

On the other side is incumbent Redovan Stojanovic. Emerging victorious in the Lukonian War, his bolstered polling results are an effect of a successful war and more inclusive policies for both the left and right of politics. Liked not only by his own people but by the broader international community, his diplomatic skills and charismatic charm have helped Sibaria through multiple situations, such as the end of the War of Honour and the continued friendship with the Uzmorr Bay nations.

North Lukonian emergency measures

With the discovery of anthrax and its possible albeit luckily at the moment limited potential spread, the Northen forces in South Lukonia take immediate measures. The internment camps are quarantined and the LTP begins an intense search trough them, in order to apprehend further agents. In the meanwhile the ones suspected of affliction are carefully quarantined themselves. Transfer from and into the North is momentarily restricted and NBC gear is distributed once more. Overall risks are not taken in the slightest, with high command fully aware the danger of the situation. In the meanwhile measures to counter the potential outbreak are immediately taken on the medical field.

The Southern terror state may have been crushed, but its legacy still lives on. The North Lukonian security forces have uncovered a insidious plot by the fallen regime to unleash a bio weapon, of the anthrax variety, on both Northern and Southern Lukonian citizen. The risk of contamination from here, extends to all of Uzmor bay. Northern forces have already taken action to quarantine the suspected afflicted, and security services are quickly working to uncover further agents. Despite this we implore the world governments, especially those of the Uzmor region, to aid in alleviating the situation trough medical means, so the risk of an outbreak can be mitigated.

Regarding the recent developments involving the potential use of biological weapons against the people of Lukonia, the South Moneylanian Union has seen fit to assist in any way possible. The two hospital ships presently deployed in the waters near Lukonia will, with your government's permission, begin assisting with the crisis as they deem fit, and the observers stationed in southern Lukonia will assist your officials in managing the spread of the contagion. Answer to the SMU aid offer from the Lukonian reconstruction authority

The ULSR is fully prepared to accept the medical and professional aid offered by SMU, in order to guarantee the safety of the whole region and create an atmosphere of safety within it. The ULPA and LTP authorities are happy to handle counter-insurgency operations on there own, and we will grant your professionals access to those suspected of affliction. CNC Victory!

Stojanovic straight to action!

After the long wait, the CNC has claimed victory over Sibaria One in the national election. With a margin of 59-41 two party preferred, it wasn't the landslide the CNC had hoped for, but it is the victory they desired.

With this win, Stojanovic vows to get straight back to work in reforming the Youthsville Pact and incorporating more rights for member states, signing the final peace deal for the Lukonian War and increased cooperation within the region.

Stojanovic also pledges to conduct a military parade in honour of the victory in the Lukonian War in the coming week.

The reconstruction continues, Lato is open to bussiness!

The South Lukonian reconstruction authority has spent the last few days in crisis mode, following the discovery of the anthrax and its spread. However, now with the situation handled, it slowly returning, with more vigilance one might add, to its daily routines. One of the main projects on it agenda has been the integration of the Northern and Southern road and railway networks, with priority of course given to the Northern way of doing things. As well as this, farms are being confiscated from there former landlords on the basis national security, with the new administration planning to use these acquired lands to be able to quickly create new jobs for the Southern populace. Northern forces in Keskylä, Lato and There occupied portions of Turkylä have been able to, for the most part, elimination of resistance in these areas and have begun to oversee resettlement and return of refugees to these new Urban centers, as the LTP establishes there surveillance infrastructure alongside this.

The port of Lato meanwhile, has seen special care to it. The motivation to this came to fruition today, as the representatives of the Federal communist party in the region together with ULCP representatives announced the official opening of the Lato economic zone, marking the first time the ULSR has opened up its markets in any way in its long 80 year history. Of course for now, this access is bureaucratic and limited by many checks and balances to fit it into the further system, but above all it is an experiment, and a way for Chairman Filatovs moderate reformist court the hard reformist factions, while discrediting the hardliners.

Tampela 2040 moves on

The reports are finally and the state of the ULPA and more accurately ULGR has been sufficiently addressed. The most immediate changes are in organization. The report recommended the transfer to the proven more flexible brigade system, partially adopted by the end of the Lukonian war. Now the organizational structures of the military will be built around supporting this form of command, providing the forces with much more flexibility then before. More time units are to remain mobilized as the reconstruction continues but there strengths it to be decreased as the situation demands.

On the acquisition of equipment, A new service rifle, standard main battle tank and other vehicles as well as specialized weapons are to be looked into. These weapons are hoped to be mainly of Sibarian origin, and thus they will be the first to be contacted for deals. If these arms deals do not for some reason go trough or is overpriced, Scuro is the next place to look for. A new assault rifle and MBT are priority, others can be negotiated for during the deal for these.

Official Statement from the Moneylania Council

According to members of the Initiative for Disease Control, the threat of Anthrax has been successfully eliminated in Lukonia by both Lukonian and South Moneylanian personnel. However, there are still concerns that underground groups may still possess samples of the disease, possibly for use in targeted assassinations. While there were several thousand cases of the infection, the diligent efforts of medical personnel ensured there were as few fatalities as possible, with the current estimated death toll being under four hundred.
